And now, a villain for her to fight.

To stand out in the world of psychics, you’ve usually gotta either be overwhelmingly powerful or extremely skilled at delicate manipulation.
The Crusher isn’t really either.
The lack of delicacy makes sense given the name, but people seem surprised by how weak Crusher is on the wider scale of psychic given how much havoc they can wreak.
See, most psychics learn to suppress psychic feedback to allow for cleaner, more discreet telepathy. Through some combination of talent and practice the Crusher figured out how to do the opposite, amplifying and broadcasting massive amounts of psychic feedback on command.
Suddenly, what would be a bit of pain from an untrained telepath’s speech or the annoying buzz of a crowd’s thoughts becomes a complete sensory overload, perfect cover to commit whatever robbery you want… for the right price.

Time Piece is one of those lesser sighted antiheroes who refuses to explain where or when she came from.
She’s got very modern sensibilities, but her speech is peculiarly Early Modern. She’s just as likely to break into as museum as she is to stop a bank robbery, but in her defense she (usually) doesn’t keep whatever she borrows from the museums. And when she gets into fights, her relatively shot distance time traveling doesn’t seem to be under her control, despite her cool additude mostly covering for it.
What she keeps on the down low, despite her name, is that she’s not just your standard teleporter. By touching an object Fluffy,” as her friends call her, can jump to the most important time in an objects history, part or present.
However, if she jumps back to her present using the same object that took her to that point in history she jumps out of the universe in which that action took place, meaning that she’s the only one who could confirm if she’s killed baby Hitler yet (or as she likes to phrase it “Only I know how many times have I’ve killed that bastard.”)

I’m one of the X-Men fans who does enjoy the student body based stories, but I was initially a little underwhelmed by the Exceptional X-Men’s lineup. I’m of the opinion that it’s very important for an X-Men team have at least one visible mutant, especially a school team, but it didn’t look like any of them where that abnormal.
That was until I looked further into the information we have on them and learned that this was entirely due to the cover artist, as the series artist’s reference sheets for each of them where markedly different than the cover art. So, I figured I’d try to move the designs back towards what they are in my own version of the cover.

I was chatting mutants from around the world and it came up that according to the Marvel wiki, there are only 5 characters from Portugal ever to feature in a Marvel comic, none of them mutants. One of them, however, is simply called “Man-of-War” with no further information given.
Presumably this is a play on the highly venomous Portuguese Man o’ War. Despite often being called jellyfish, Man o’ Wars are actually siphonophores, marine organism whose “body” is composed of many smaller animals that act as “their” organs.
Entirely unrelatedly, a Cephalophore is a type of saint who is depicted as carrying around their own severed head.

See I would agree except I feel like I have to mention Laois is canonically really intimidated by the world of dragon lovers.
Tumblr media
Laois may have a lot of fun facts, but he’s a generalist in the world of monsters. Like best this turns out in my opinion is that Laois enters that kinda positive shell shocked you fall into when your talking to another autistic person and they start infodumping about something your interested in but not all that familiar with.
Someone who’s read Dungeon Meshi please let me know how would it go if Laios Dungeon Meshi met Angua von Überwald.
Because people say “Carrot should meet Laios! Autism king meets autism king!” and I totally agree, but that would entail Laios meeting/learning of the existence of Angua, and I don’t know Laios well enough to know how well that would go. He seems like a nice boy but I keep thinking of the panel of the wolfman telling Laios he’s a werewolf chaser.

I finally (got help) slapping Wordpress into shape and Runaway to the Stars is now releasing as a public webcomic! Thank you so much for your support over the years, and sticking with me while I'm slowly chewing my way through this book. I'm very excited to share this story! It'll be updating every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday thanks to the massive Patreon backlog. Patreon will continue to update as I finish pages, which happens on a sporadic non-schedule.
If you experience bugs with the site report them to me. Some things may occasionally break, as coding problems tend to be a very "whack-a-mole" affair; and I'm still getting used to the interface.

Since I based my TMAGP!Gerry and Needles off their voice actors, I figured I’d do the same for the main cast. Subject to change of course, but I’ve really come around to loving these freaks.

every single day I think about how american black vultures are known for engaging in allopreening (preening between different species)
and they have a specific relationship with crested caracaras, in which the black vultures assist them by not only preening them after meals but also leading them to food in the first place— due to their superior sense of smell— while the caracaras assist the black vultures by acting as a warning signal in case of danger
and while this is more typical of black vultures, this is not common at all for any member of the falconidae family— it’s a special bond!

yet another post in favor of vultures everyone , hope you enjoy:) and I implore you to do some more research on these incredible birds !!

I was thinking about how folks visualize Daredevil’s powers, I get why it’s usually kept fairly simple for the sake of time but I feel like it never gets across how busy the world is.

So fun fact when I started sketching my first big obstacles was figuring out Daredevil’s physicality, because Boxing and Parkour are two very different builds.
I ended up going through the very short list of Olympians with medals across different categories, and while the New York lawyer and gold medalist boxing/bobsled Eddie Eagan was my second choice, the only really relevant medalist is the wrestling and gymnastics gold medalist Carl Schuhmann.
Carl Schuhmann was also, as you might guess from being a gymnastics gold medalist, aggressively 5’3”

And I’m not fully committed but well. From very early on I said that Wisp is in the same position as Bo Burnham, being surprisingly tall when you actually put him next to others for context. So on his reference sheet the difference between him and Spidey is the same as Burnham and Andrew Garfield.
Which.
Yeah.

Out of nowhere I was hit with the idea that if artists struggle so much with Daredevil’s original yellow costume because he can’t exactly be stealthy like that, why not just fully embrace that this man is highly visible and handling that is your problem.

Look, I get that as:
The Eighth of Thirteen Crimson Dynamos,
A character who’s base concept (teenage Russian hacker getting into a WarGames style adventure when he accidentally reactivates said war machine) isn’t nearly as fun and wacky in a modern context,
A character who only appeared in one miniseries and hasn’t appeared in past 11 years since then,
he’s never coming back.
However Gennady Gavrilov is a fantastic little slacker and I want more of him. MARVEL IF YOUR LISTENING-
