There's a semi-popular/notorious fanartist on another platform. I LOVED their art of Simeon. One of the best fanartists I've ever seen draw him. Literally when all is good, they depict Simeon perfectly.

But that unfortunately rarely happens because they are SOOOO self-righteous that it cancels out any and all joy I could get from seeing their Simeon art. It's an OM fanblog in name alone. The stuff that they REALLY get up to on that blog is genuinely so concerning.

Now, they're a "good person" as in they have solid morals that they "live by"... but they remind me of the sort of mentality that brought about the Salem witch trials--

A "good person" thinking they need to publicly vindicate someone that's apparently suspect, or else they're not actually a good person. They might end up burning at the stake next if they're not careful! 🔥🔥🔥 Them and their "friends" got anxious mob mentality fr fr.

Monthly, they'd call someone out with the "proof" that their "friend" got them and it's just the most vague screenshot(s) of a non-english speaker saying something in broken english and they're vaguely PO'd about some beef they have with someone. It would never count as decisive proof in any court of law, but that's all this person and co. needs to spin some sort of insanely twisted narrative!

Truly, if you follow their blog, you're there watching a reinactment of the Salem witch trials, some poor soul and their "friends" desperately trying to convince themselves that they're in the right about everything they're doing wrong.

I also tried to believe that their hearts were in the right place, just poorly POORLY executed. But I finally decided to block them when I I saw someone get dog piled by the "friends" for commenting some criticism EVEN THOUGH THE OP ASKED FOR THE CRITICISM! The person wasn't even rude about it, too. The literal projecting I saw them do there was the last straw of my patience. That blog is just too much of cesspool.

Why did the best Simeon fanartist I've ever seen have to turn out like that? 😩😩😩

Thanks for the vent space. Sorry it's kinda long. I hope that cult circle breaks up and gets all the therapy they need.

honestly inquisition would've benefitted so much from a good friendship/rivalry system like da2 had. this playthrough im using the fair weathered friends challenge (grants double disapproval) and it feels SO much more alive. solas fucking hates me and rants at me for siding with the templars even though i haven't been openly rude to him! varric dislikes me for not keeping the status quo! dorian chews me out immediately after joining because i didn't go with the mages initially! and it's a shame to know that these interesting dynamics are the lowest i can go with all of these characters

#solas' rant against mary and actually giving his option on the templars was SO good. then i got the option to hit him #and realised this was supposed to be the utmost lowest point of their relationship #playing with this challenge on partially for the steam achievement and partially bc it's more fun narratively #but ughhhh da2's rivalry system added so much depth #i rivalled fenris for the first time in my recent playthrough and it gave me such a different perspective on his character #but in inq it barely even registers that hawke rivalled varric despite it completely changing their relationship dynamics...

I generally have a grudge against Halloween decor, because I think a lot of it is cute, but then it's all cheap plastic crap that's already chipped or will start to the moment you take it home. With that in mind: look, Michaels, if I wanted to decorate my house with dirty legbones I'd just go find some real ones in the woods or something.

You’re telling me that Natsu only challenges Erza to fights but not Mirajane. 100000000% believe that once he knew she was using magic again. It would be constant request to spar and she would. One. Because Natsu’s one of the few Mira let in after Lisanna’s ‘death’ and so he’s like a little brother to her. Two. She knows that he wouldn’t be pulling punches or holding back on her just for being rusty. He would 100% challenge her.

Poll adventure (paventure? lol) Day 8: !!NOTE: this is different from the past polls - rather than choosing a story action, you're picking supplies to craft a little makeshift boat (EX: wood will be the main platform, so there should likely be the most of it, however, if there were 100% votes for branches and 0% votes for rope, then it'd just be a pile of wood held together by nothing - keep them balanced reasonably, etc.))

The winning option of yesterday's poll was that the adventurer should get around the barrier by crafting a little boat to take a river detour….

Finally crawling out of his hiding spot in the brambles, he meticulously brushes the leaves from his clothes and composes himself, now fully focused on his generic traveler's map of the area... After checking it about 500 times just to make sure he isn't confused, he determines that going down the nearby river would likely still get him where he's trying to go, and hopefully be much less treacherous than wandering through haunted forests or confronting the stern gaze of the barrier guards..

It only takes about 10 minutes of following a narrower rocky path off the main road to reach a nice shaded spot of land next to a small river. He kneels in the grass, eagerly rummaging through his backpack for supplies, in addition to whatever he can scavenge from the edge of the woods. The rush of excitement slowly dissipates however, once he realizes that he.. actually.. might not know how to make a raft as well as he thought... Surely it's quite straightforward, no? Just.. make it look like it does in picture books?? There are no rules, as long as it floats, it works! Probably anyone could build one on intuition alone! ... maybe...???

.. Once again sinking into a cloud of anxiety, he slumps over, staring at the pile of materials with teary eyes, doubtful what to even do next.... How should he build the raft? Help him by using the poll to choose the appropriate amounts of materials (determined by final % of votes in that category)!

If it was 100% wood - he would just have a pile of tree branches held together with nothing #etc. etc. Ideal measurements are probably at least over 50% wooden branches. and whatever of anything else.#As long as there's also rope lol. 50% branches and 50% flowers still wouldn't be anything really jhhj #ANYWAY..#Though it could go wrong I'm actually not expecting some sort of weird result. most people have voted very reasonably so far #and are not like trying to sabotage him or anything or choose the weirder choices. Like last time there werent that many #votes for sneaking around the barrier or trying to bribe the guards. I know you can't exactly be the most serious on polling if you're creating a poll on tumblr but if you want some semblance of validity to your poll then I have 1 tip: Get rid of the "not Applicable/see results" option. If you want to actually have a somewhat accurate and useful poll that actually measures something then get rid of the "Not applicable/see results" options. Unless you are polling to see the difference between two groups then do not allow an option for the out group to vote on. Skewed results are bad results and letting people click a option that says "im not in this group" you automatically skew the results to be favorable towards the people not in the group you are polling. So again, get rid of the "not applicable" option. I don't care how much people want to be nosy and see the results, their nosiness should not outweigh accuracy. You should not purposefully allow your result to be skewed because there are nosy people who don't want to wait until the poll is over to see the results.

As the pendulum is swinging back to “stop shaming people for leaving likes”, I am going to go on record to say I don’t like like because they’re a purely “number go up” metric that most people do not treat with the kind of thoughtful affection people who talk about leaving “little kisses for the people they follow” treat them as. I feel this exact same way about kudos in that mindless interaction from a potential audience is a real “good for you” kind of situation that simply does fuck all for me.

And before someone can call this grind culture brainrot, I also feel this way about reblogs without commentary. Good for you. I'm glad I was a good dancing monkey, enough for you to go “hey [people following me], lookadis guy”, even if you’re not gonna actually tell me that. We can talk about our choices for engaging with things and people on this site all we want, but intent isn’t magic, and I’m gonna reserve the right to complain about how that treatment feels regardless.

I've been pretty ambivalent about the changes you've been making. I get the need for reform to drive up engagement and stay competitive, and I'm pleased that you seem to be trying to strike some sort of balance, however much flack you might be getting for things.

But this?

THIS IS NOT OKAY.

I've paid for ad-free. Allowing a company to bypass that by blazing their ad - and it is an ad, complete with an attempt to draw from their competition with a "limited offer", not a simple information post or anything else - is not just uncool it's straight-up dishonest. You're double-dipping. You're charging me to not see ads, and then charging a company - not an individual or artist or anything else, but a purely profit-driven company - to get around that.

Not cool tumblr, not cool.

I'll be filing a support ticket next time I'm on desktop, because 🖕 this.

I had a really great time going out to dinner with my mom and nana tonight at a nice restaurant but nana believes in conspiracy theories and my mom and I have to keep debunking the bs sources she pulls out in a joking way to keep her from getting too defensive about how we don’t agree and I’m so tired. God fucking help me.

And then they’re like. Both loudly and condescendingly agreed about the whole “men and women can’t be friends” thing and that men and women have completely different brains/ in general most men are waiting to fuck you instead of genuinely caring about you as a person (and they did that FUCKING CONDESCENDING exaggerated laugh w/ eachother over it. I know most men have misogyny and treat women badly. And that they talk about us differently behind our backs. No fucking shit. But it’s not everyone, and believing so stringently that it’s impossible to have a true genuine friendship without either wanting to fuck eachother annoys and hurts me. How can we ever move forward to a less misogynistic world if we ourselves refuse to build real friendships with the opposite sex regardless of gender.) and frankly that kicked the Gender Issues bruise in my heart and I just Was Not Having It at the end of the night
