#umineko liveblog #like. everything else has been taken seriously even when it's stupid #but this is outright dismissed the second it's mentioned. surely not..........#ough but wait. the possibility of the captive beatrice falling pregnant is rather high #and there are several plausible scenarios with which a hidden child could work #i mean if we go full cliche then the answer here is that nanjo somehow helped beatrice hide the child #making him like double compromised with kinzo. almost like a moral stalemate even #also given the date the mansion was built we can assume this kid would be in their early/mid 30s present day #only known candidate on rokkenjima who fits the criteria would be rosa but that doesn't really makes sense #either that or gohda is a good 10-15 years younger than you'd think he is #but then i'm thinking about the ushiromiya shannon stuff and wondering if there isn't an orphanage link #not that shannon's the beatrice child because she's 15 years too young for that #but perhaps the kid was concealed in the orphanage and this is where the furniture stuff comes in?#every single servant kid is less than human unless they prove themselves to be a worthy substitute for the lost child #and the abuse comes from the fact that they also bear the brunt of kinzo's rage at this kid for having slipped out of his grasp #and of course none of the servant children can ever compare to kinzo's ideal so the cycle perpetuates forever #furniture in that they're being punished for not innately being an ushiromiya successor #this also feeds into the beatrice/kinzo becoming stuff too at a slightly different angle #the children are brought on expected to carry fragments of both beatrice and kinzo and tormented when they fail to do so #meanwhile i genuinely think if a beatrice kid existed they would presently be extremely far removed from rokkenjima #like some random well adjusted adult who knows very little of their origins #meaning that even if kinzo ever found this person they too would not be a fitting ushiromiya successor #yeah i think there might be some potential for this kind of theory

Caretaker stumbled into the darkened room. This was their last hope of finding Whumpee. The last room they had to search before giving up and accepting that Whumper had killed Whumpee and disposed of their body. But Caretaker could not, would not accept that. Not when Whumpee was out there waiting to be saved. Caretaker couldn't fail them.

"Whumpee?" Caretaker called out. The room was so dark and large that Caretaker's flashlight beam only went so far. But it was enough. Caretaker's mouth went dry as the beam of light shone on a figure that lay on the ground. "Whumpee!"

Whumpee lay on their side, back to the door. Caretaker could see that their ankles were chained to the ground and their hands were bound roughly behind their back. But Whumpee didn't stir as Caretaker called out to them.

"Whumpee, say something, Whumpee--oh!" Caretaker rolled Whumpee onto their back and felt their stomach drop. Whumpee was covered with blood, their skin ashen and pale beneath all fo the blood.

Caretaker began to tap Whumpee's cheeks trying to rouse them. "Come on, Whumpee. Wake up. Open your eyes for me."

But Whumpee didn't open their eyes. Didn't so much as move. Caretaker put two shaking fingers to the pulse in Whumpee's throat, hoping that Whumpee was still alive, that they hadn't failed Whumpee. Caretaker breathed a sigh of relief as they felt a thready, weak pulse. Whumpee was still alive.

Caretaker quickly freed Whumpee from their restraints and lifted them into a bridal carry. Whumpee hung limply in their arms, head lolling. "Not much longer, Whumpee. I'm getting you to help. Hold on, not much longer."

Caretaker repeated the phrase as they ran. Because they needed Whumpee to hold on. They needed Whumpee to be ok. They needed Whumpee to open their eyes and smile again. They needed Whumpee to be ok. Because a world without Whumpee wasn't a world that Caretaker wanted to live in.

"Not much longer, hold on. Hold on, Whumpee. I have you. Not much longer."

#these past two weeks have been so intense that ive just.. not spoken about it once i got home from work #blocked it all out #my beloved colleague whose desk is next to mine has cancer #breast and uterus. she needs two major surgeries #they just diagnosed her two weeks ago #so we've been trying to deal with that as colleagues and friends #because we love and miss her and i am so deeply sad as well #but i feel like i couldn't process that at all bc two days after the news of her diagnosis i was asked to take on half of her work #on top of my fulltime #which i agreed to do bc i like her tasks and i want to help her and i also know i can do it #but it does feel very off bc i know i don't earn enough money for this workload to be long term and it is def like this #for the coming four months at least #so i did tell my manager that i would like a raise and. that bitch told me to BUY MORE SECOND HAND SHIT.#i seriously thought i saw my life flash before my eyes #then the day after she asked one of my colleagues who's been with the firm for over 30 years whether she was looking for another job maybe?#which caused that colleague to instantly go home in tears and be home from basically a nervous breakdown the past 1.5 week #which is her full right and i support her with all my heart but bc my management sucks it meant that we had to also carry her tasks ofc #i felt soooo spread thin and super super angry actually but i didn't even realise how angry i was until last thursday my colleague w cancer #came by the office. and talked about all of it. and i suddenly realised how sad i was but then also how angry #but i was just blocking it all out trying to stay afloat #bc we told her about what the manager had said and she said “i hope that i get the chance to really tell her how it is someday.”#“because the stress she causes with people can actually kill you. just look at me.”#and the rest of the day i felt so ready to be done with everything actually #but seeing her anger made me see my own anger #and released me of my own pent up emotions bc i had actual leg pains this week and it was purely psychosomatic #i then managed to tell some friends yesterday about what was going on and their outrage spurred me on even more #so today i emailed hr. demanding a raise #doing this amount of work while constantly feeling like the house is on fire while also struggling financially seriously makes me suicidal #and i am not joking #so.. if nothing comes of that im leaving that job and not looking back

Was at Barnes & Noble today buying a book for my flight this weekend and they really had the worst selection of Wonder Woman comics 💔

I was moving fast bc I had ppl waiting for me so I only got a quick glance but seemed to be just copies of Earth One, the Messner-Loebs TPB, and WW: Evolution, the last of which I haven't read yet but the art looks ugly and they use current continuity Vanessa Kapetelis so those are already strikes in my book. Earth One I also haven't read (although ill probably force myself to at some point) but that's self explanatory

Oh and the Messner-Loebs TPB wasn't even the Artemis issues it was the beginning of his run! Which I'm sorry but is SO garbage. Why are we stranding Diana in space for a year in universe, having her ditch her entire supporting cast and then work minimum wage at DC taco bell to survive. Please guys cmon now

Don't get me wrong, playing God of War: Ragnarök and I love it but... I REALLY wish the fanbase talked more about the older games!! It feels like the whole classic era got swept under the rug so we could focus on the new games.
