The Un-pause; Tribute to my teen years.
And I feel at times that it's okay to be not okay, that the place I'm stuck in, is the uncomfortable transition to becoming a different me. No matter how much I try to be my old self, I'll never be the same because that part of me has long surpassed me.
And though the future holds the unknown I'll admit I'm afraid and I think that's what's holding me back in the pause. I'll be able to leave once I embrace the fact that I'm moving forward and even though it seems scary I won't be alone, I'll have the naïve child and the obnoxious, selfish teenage version of myself with me as I enter the next chapter of my life and knowing that somehow brings me comfort.
I'll make it big even if others aren't aware of the efforts I put in, I'll know how much I've had to sacrifice and I'll make the process worth the while as I become the highest version of myself.
So I guess this is the farewell that I've been putting off, thinking I'll have much more time with you. But my dear this is the end of our journey and the beginning of a new. You've grown so much into such a brilliant young lady despite your flaws.
This is me stepping out of the pause, taking control, and promising to take care of us in our 20s.
