His mother died when he was young, we literally don’t know if he has a father or any extended family he’s in contact with(probably not, or he’d never end up at the orphanage), all the kids he knew and grew up with at the church are now dead, and his wife left him.

Wow. It’s been 2 years??? I thought I would be done with this comic in 2 months! I don’t know whether to feel worried or accomplished!!
(With months between each update, I understand why it’s been 2 years. I’m a slow writer and artist and well- many things have come up in my life that had to come first, like my sisters wedding! 💞 and college 😅)
I want to thank my family and friends (WHO DO NOT READ THIS COMIC- THANK GOD) 💕 AND I want to THANK YOU! The readers! 💐💐
You guys are relentless! I’m as impatient as traffic and yet you guys wait for weeks or months at a time for like 4 pages?! You guys don’t even complain!!! I truly want to thank you all for that ❤️ it helps me so much. Being busy and getting burnt out are common and it helps me feel relaxed that i'm not on a timer. My feelings with this comic are actually so complicated. On one hand I hate looking at my older art because GOD IT LOOKS SO OFF I want to stab it, and then on the other hand I am so so proud of myself for even continuing it this far. Ngl the weird route has been one of my favorite parts of this comic. It took me FOREVER to figure out an ending, but damn do I still get chills >:) hehe.
I’m still miffed that I named this project “Deltarune: The Chara Timeline” I could have gone for something so much COOLER. Doesn’t help I use like 7 different titles for it either. We got Deltarune the Chara timeline, Deltarune chara timeline, THE Chara timeline, chara timeline, Ct??? Man,,, I’m crazy. I take after my family so hard. We have 3 names for each of our dogs 💀.
Comic/Animation Tip i have learned. It is VERY GOOD to make the character relatively simple in design. Shape language is also super important, ((but I never really got around to doing that before I was half way through the comic, woops.)) These things can make ur process go by so much faster. This whole comic has been a HUGE learning curve. LIKE OH MY GOD. I had to learn how to draw backgrounds, write dialogue, plan a story, learn how to draw fast and draw noses (which god damn I really still can’t). And I had to learn how the heck to squeeze art into a tiny page and make it not look grainy. It's intense!
Anyways.... this has been such an awesome opportunity! Thanks Toby Fox!
I totally ran out of “art time” for my iPad and wanted to finish this today. So it’s a bit rushed. I’ll add weapons and possibly the other characters later :)

now that I'm home, a brief summary of the new (historical) fantasy books I AM interested in. there are still nonfiction (essays, social commentary, biology) that are on my list but THIS is more my jam. putting this under a readmore but 1. if you've read any of these I'd love to hear your (non-spoilery!) opinion of them, and 2. if you have any recs based on this list, feel free to reply or send me an ask!
The Water Outlaws by S.L. Huang: if this book is bad I'm going to cry. it looks like it could be everything I've ever wanted. I love when lesbians are anti-authoritarian and I love wuxia settings. the rebel love interest has tattoos 😍
The Witch's Heart by Genevieve Gornichec: I haven't actually read much norse mythology-inspired stuff except that pjo spinoff that wasn't very good (and one set in 9th century greenland that was HORRIBLE) but this was suggested a few times and I think it looks very promising! it's always neat to see older women as protags and she's bisexual and maybe polyam as well, which I've only ever seen in baru cormorant and the broken earth iirc
The Forever Sea by Joshua Phillip Johnson: this doesn't look GREAT but I looovvee environmental fantasy so I'll give it a shot
The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo: this one looks WILD
The Keeper of Night by Kylie Lee Baker: this one seems a little more YA than the others but the concept is pretty original so I'm curious to see what they do with it
Fireheart Tiger by Aliette de Bodard: the description made me cringe a bit but the idea is pretty cool and it seems like YA but it's marked at adult?
The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water by Zen Cho: another wuxia-inspired book!!! please be good PLEASE be fucking good 😭
Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse: this one is sparing in the description but I have a sense it'll be VERY intense
The Emperor and the Endless Palace by Justinian Huang: I may struggle to keep focused on this one but I thought I'd check it out bc in theory it's interesting
The Black Tides of Heaven by Neon Yang: I didn't really understand the summary but it's hopefully good? I'l always check out a wuxia and I like a sibling dynamic

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: I heard high praise for this one so while it doesn't specifically appeal to me, I'll give it a shot

Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh: this one could touch me tenderly I feel. I like when love interests are nice. whenever I see those setups that are like 'oh he's got an OBNOXIOUS and HOT partner' I'm like well this projection isn't working for me bc I'd leave then. I don't want to be annoyed by someone I'm supposed to like. I am aware this is a big setup for CR arc of mdzs but the annoying guy is my actual younger brother and my dear dear friend wwx so he can do whatever he wants. and also lwj really does have a stick up his ass and wwx is acting significantly more normally all things considered. anyway. this gay tree man may touch my heart

The Mask of Mirrors by M.A. Carrick: this one is pretty YA but I enjoy the writing and the setting, and the plot is exciting. I look forward to reading more
The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley: I think my mutual suggested this to me and I tried reading it but I found it really hard to read but I am going to try it again because it sounds so intruiging!
The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty: I'm on the fence bc while I liked the city of brass, I thought this one was a bit weaker so idk if I'll keep reading. I like the concept tho
The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro: this one's strange and mysterious and I love the almost primordial atmosphere of england 1000 years ago...the ancient and massive landmarks around the elderly characters as they go about their relatively small lives. kind of frightening, kind of magical
These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong: I haven't read any of this and it DOES look pretty YA but the setting sounds fun so why not

A refreshing take on the Cherry Magic prologue that unfortunately fell (a ltitle) short in the last few minutes.
Cherry Magic Thailand chooses the Jdrama route where we first meet Achi without his powers. It was nice to see the difference in culture immediately; from Achi’s living conditions to means of transport. Though I thought having Achi immediately lament on his life choices 2 minutes in was maybeeeee too quick.
It’s very interesting that Rock/Rokkaku here is introduced as Achi’s subordinate and their whole first interaction, with Achi feeling awkward that despite their big age difference he hardly holds a senior position over him, which in turn further proves Achi’s averageness. Plus, having Rock approach and get attached to Achi is going to rationalize an aspect of Karan’s jealousy which I am very excited to see. I liked the flashback montage about how different Karan and Achi’s progress in the workplace was. It gives the viewers a better idea of Achi’s mix of jealousy and admiration towards Karan and it’s also a first look into Achi’s feelings of inferiority that will eventually become an obstacle to his and Karan’s relationship.I also like how in the most recent flashback you can see Karan kind of burnt out, which should be around the time he falls (or has already fallen) for Achi.
*BTW Karan here is supposed to have won employee of the year 7 years in a row (from the FIRST year he joined) and honestly I find that less realistic than I found jdrama Kurosawa being in love with Adachi for 7 years
Besides that, however, I found some other scenes unnecessary and very exposition-y, even for a pilot episode. For example, learning about Achi’s trauma regarding romantic relationships should have come up later imo.
Unlike other adaptations this one didn’t really feel the need to excessively point out Karan’s popularity among women, which is a very vital plot point later on; I am not really big fan of that trope so I found it kind of refreshing; and it will come sooner or later.
I am VERY interested in Pai and Dujdao. Big fan of adding another relevant female character and one who is nice to Achi, at that! Pai is leaning to Fujisaki’s more extroverted and mischievous side while I think Dujdao has some of Fujisaki’s qualities as well but her role is more equivalent to a nicer Urabe-san or Achi’s very own Asahina-senpai. Side note, the implication that Pai-Dujdao are some kind of cupids that help Karan seduce Achi is a concept I can 100% get behind. It also seems like the boss will be a recurring character so maybe he’s the Asahina? Anyway, the character department has me invested.
And speaking of characters - Jinta! JInta is…a character who is… not Tsuge. A lot of people are not fans of Tsuge, especially Jdrama Tsuge. But well I don’t know if the solution is to completely change him? He looks and acts way younger which is very contradictory to his role in the manga; Especially to his relationship with Minato. But, I won’t judge too hard yet since they haven’t even interacted on screen. The udon backstory is an AMAZING detail and the GREATEST introduction of the side couple in any version of the story.
So. Nothing is going to top the jdrama elevator scene and every adaptation is going to have to make peace with that. The lighting work during Kurosawa’s imagination in the office was a work of art and Achi’s (and Rock’s later) reaction was hilarious. The sound effects also got me a few times ngl.
Part 4 however…disappointed me. First off they replace the scarf scene with a way less emotionally charged umbrella scene. To which I ask, do you know how hard it is to make an umbrella scene seem so unromantic? And then we have Karan asking Achi to stay over and BEFORE Achi agrees, he reads Karan’s mind and his wild imagination. And then…agrees? The entire gag of the scene relies on Achi agreeing BEFORE he sees all that stuff and then immediately regretting it. Having him regret it after the fact is … pointless? I also found it very abrupt to jump to domestic life scenarios fantasies from the get-go when in all other version’s Karan is just contend with Achi being at his place (with his designated pyjamas). He’s a horny bastard in general, I am not denying the mole scene earlier but I felt like the domestic fantasies being shown so early on was a bit fanservice-y for the Taynew fans? (As someone who doesn’t gaf about these men outside their roles and as someone who knows Kurosawa personally this is what it felt like to me.)
Karan's smirk was precious though hehe.
TLDR the show has a very promising and compelling beginning but declines in quality in the last minutes. That being said, I still have faith that the next episodes will be better. The next episode clips I’ve seen are promising and since there was a lot of exposition (and scenes from later chapters) in the pilot it will probably help the pace of the later episodes. Personally, the jdrama hooked me with EP3 (the events of which will be in EP2 of the Thai one) so I think (and hope) the show will only get better from here!

-all of the children being near/in demon town is fundamentally the opposite of the manga logic

-the emma-norman-ray reunion doesn't pack the punch that it does in the manga. emma and ray and us haven't gone through all of those things that led them to norman, that made you feel the time passing and the struggle and norman's absence.

-low-key hate the "now that norman is here, we can move forward again" vibe. norman made the escape plan; then things moved to a standstill; now he's back and things can happen again. as though the others are just going through the motions.
-there's no emotional weight, they just say their lines and we move on, no time to breathe, no nothing
-here's the thing. having placed the kids in this situation, you're truly honestly saying that THE FOUR OLDEST KIDS are gonna just leave their young siblings alone near demon town to look for mujika? seriously? are you sure
-there's no pacing, and because there's no pacing there's no personalities, everyone just says what they have to say, one thing after the other, and there's no time for them to transition smoothly from one emotion to another
-at least they kept the essence of norman's arc...? but the norman-less arcs weren't fillers, they had a point!
-i am so sad, the lambda facility part is so good, why did they mess up so much with the rest
-far be it from me to comment on the VAs, buuut... norman's VA kinda stands out, ngl. she shines, even in this awkwardly paced dialogue
-HOLD YOUR HORSES, NORMAN'S VA IS FISCHL'S VA?!?! HOW?!?! H O W?!?!
-norman's "i'll gladly become a god or a devil" IS SO BRUSHED OFF, oh my god, this should be A Moment!

-JESUS, THERE'S NO TIME GIVEN TO THE CHARACTERS TO PROCESS INFORMATION AND EMOTIONS! THE SPEED WITH WHICH EMMA GOES FROM NEUTRAL TO WEEPY TO HAPPY WHEN SHE SEES MUJIKA, ARGH!
-emma coming in with the telepathy, immediately knowing that the sound is the bang of norman's lies...
-THESE ARE THE GRACE FIELD KIDS, OF COURSE THE THOUGHT OF NORMAN HAVING LIED WOULD HAVE CROSSED THEIR MINDS! IT’S NORMAN! THERE'S PRECEDENT!
-but norman's plan and character in the manga had SO MUCH MORE DEPTH OH MY GOD! HE HAD HUMAN BLOOD ON HIS HANDS! HIS PLAN WAS MORE REFINED! and yes, i know "farms were attacked" here too, but the fact that norman actually had to make the choice to let humans die is not addressed or even hinted at
-there's really no time to breathe. one minute norman declares annihilation, and the next he's like, "no never mind :'(". the VA is the only anchor keeping him grounded
-these are the enhanced lambda group... which doesn't matter because they don't actually do much...
-the op song is nice tho

as an adaptation, it sucks.
had i not read the manga, would i still consider it a bad season 2? well... i would consider it a downgrade. i wouldn't sweat the basic premise, but the execution would probably disappoint me. the dialogue is perfunctory. they say their bit, change emotions and thoughts in an instant, there's no weight, depth or consideration. things get resolved almost as soon as they're touched upon. i would have no idea who most of the new characters were as people, and i would have learned very little about the ones we already knew. everything is incredibly rushed, and whereas s1 was full of tension and obstacles, s2 was handing the kids everything on a platter, including hot air balloons, mujika randomly spotting emma's necklace, the old demon randomly having that one part of the pen etc (i usually don't mind random coincidences for the sake of storytelling, but this a "compilation of too many issues" situation). the powerpoint presentation in the end would have left me confused and underwhelmed, and the emma-tachi return is incredibly lackluster for a closing scene. i don't think i'd consider it a disaster, but definitely disappointing.
but it is an adaptation and i have read the manga and it's all very sadge.

Wow so having now watched the pilot trailer (YT search: GMMTV 2023 and go to the 2 hr mark roughly) a couple of times over I have SO MANY thoughts. Primarily that they have really refined the characters of Sailom and Kang to be BOTH more sympathetic and to make this a much more compelling romance. In chronological order:
why is Kang SMOKING?? Who is this boy??
I love the translators so much and appreciate them endlessly but it’s nice to see the correct word here (THIS Kang probably would do the spelling of the word we got ngl)
this is Kang beating the SHIT out of Sailom. I infinitely prefer Sailom being the one to punch him in the much deserved scenario we got
again who is this?? Where is my sweet ‘I drank too much and am babbling’ boy?

this is SUCH a simpler, less interesting characterization for Kanghan and whoever thought of his new characterization was a genius who deserves a raise. He comes across in this trailer purely like a spoiled entitled rich boy with little depth except MAYBE wanting to be a professional soccer player
this is the scene I love most in the pilot! I think this is what later became our alley not kiss? But I love the lighting and Sailom taking him by the hand and them hiding together. Would be very happy to see a different version of this later on.

ANYWAY. Watching this was a wild ride. I’m so grateful for what we have now and think I understand a lot better some of the confusion over tone/pacing I’ve seen online if this is the trailer people remembered better than the much more sappy new one.

hoshi's character seems so wild and playful, I think that even if we'd be chilling together, watching movies or even just talking about nonsense, he'd grab a pillow — with me thinking he'd just place it on his lap — but would catch me off-guard and launch the pillow in my face T^T I can hear his goofy laugh until I'd return the hit with my pillow.
he started it, but I'm willing to end it. for the meantime, this pillow-fight will continue until a certain someone surrenders or one of us fall off the bed — given that we won't get hurt... too badly.

The funniest part is like. I tried SO HARD to go into wu&io blind. I avoided every concert video like the plague. I scrolled past all those clips on twt. I even debated not listening to cmwyl but . I didn't want to be that left out so I did listen to it (which predictably made me feel sick of it by the time the album came out 😭) but seeing the titles of all the wu&io songs I got attached to golden hour 😭😭😭 and was already being like "I bet u that's gonna be my fav" but I was like no. I will not be biased. And the first time I listened to wu&io I actually liked poabs the best but I think that's just bc of how fucking shook I was by it being the first song I listened to and when I told my friends that it was my fav they all were like "damn I thought golden hour was gonna be ur fav" but then . I relistened to it again (bc for me it honestly takes at least like 3 or 4 listens for me to properly rank bc I am often someone who will just like the song I hear first, same thing goes with covers. It's rare for me to like a cover more than the og song if I heard the og song first. But if I heard the cover first?? I will most likely prefer that one) and then I was like Oh. Oh it's Golden hour is good. Oh. And then I literally looped it like 5 times in a row 😭😭 leaving poabs in the dust LMFAOFJJFKGF and then as I started to listen to it more Consequences just started vibing w me more than Poabs

If I know anything it's that 2012 tmnt is both my least favorite show ever and also my second favorite show. ever.

so I watched like 4-5 more episodes of tmnt (left off at the season 3 time travel episode, y'know.. with renet aaaaaaa)
um so. I don't like renet.
not really the character itself, but like, how they, depict her.
1. her outfit, idk what it is, but i can't help but think it's fucking ugly. I kinda understand how hard it is to make 3d models of humans but omg you've done semi-good outfits before, casey has a pretty good outfit i'd say, i think, i don't look at him much, april's outfit is... okay... at least... kinda good at most, I think it can be turned into something really good with just alittle bit of change in it, but it's okay. like renet tho, idc how future she is, her outfit, ugly as sin, omg. please omg why.

2. I fucking hate, the mikey and renet romance, it feels so so so so so so so, how many so's can I put... so so so So, weird. Renet says a line, after mikey implies a first "date" that, isn't he alittle OLD for her, She hasn't even been born yet, and WOW, good point, I was mostly looking at the fact that renet looks like a fully grown adult, like 21 at least, 25 at most, I do not see that women as a teen, she acts like a teen at times, but every time I look at her and her character and what I know about her, it gets more and more unlikely for me to think she's even close to being a teen. and since Mikey is canonly at least 15 and at most 16 at this time(He's 15 in the start of season 3 but leo says that they go at least 16 years in the future so idk if there's a year inbetween tang shen dying and splinter buying(lol) the turtles, that probably is it but incase it isn't, y'know, idk) I personally think their "15" still(although depending on how many months he spent in Dimension X and how many months ago their birthday is, he might genuinely be 16 in canon, but we will never know) from how the show puts it but u can think what u want, either way, still a minor, still weird to me, I just can't get renet being an adult out of my head now that i've seen her in the show. I also just don't like how mikey acts with her tho, All the brothers are slightly similar when it comes to romance, aka... they can be kinda.. creeps, in a way. i don't like how renet kisses mikey(i think on the forehead or cheek, but I skipped that part, ngl) because they have JUST met, not kidding, they have JUST MET. another thing i hate. I hate that they JUST MET and yet they are inlove, i don't like it... i understand the love at first sight trope, it's in like half of the other romances in this show, i just fucking hate it, :)
There's probably SO MUCH MORE, I fucking hate this romance aaaaa
3. I don't think there is a three, other then then those two, i think the character is kinda under welling and could've been done better, but they are pretty cool in concept, I will continue hating the writing and design of this character and will probably like them more in the fanfiction side of things. yippee.
I have to remind y'all that this is all my opinion and you should watch the show or at least those episodes before you, yourself, decide to hate renet aswell. I look into this show, WAY too much.
If you like Renet, that is totally fine and very valid, you could've taken her character a completely different way than me and that is completely fine. I see nothing wrong with liking the character or the romance/love story between her and mikey, I just personally see it as a really weird choice. that doesn't mean you will see it the same way, and that is completely okay. people see things differently all the time and this is definitely going to be one of them. There's gonna be people who love renet, i'm just not one of them. Tho i wish i could like her ngl.
in the end, umm... i wanted to rant about another tmnt thing, and I did. i wrote way to much, I'm sorry if you actually read all of it, my thoughts run wild, and I am too lazy to fix any spelling mistakes </3

Oh… my god… I’ve been emotionally devastated by Le Salut 😂
Rambling and spoilers under the cut as usual! Still haven’t done any of the salvation ends though so no worries about those, not sure if I’ll make one post for all of them or reblog my individual posts from each route lmao
Wow this route was CHONKY Jesus! I guess my biggest initial thoughts after playing are:
1) I am boo boo the fool… cannot believe we were betrayed by Dahut like that… the signs were there but I dismissed because he was best (adult) boy and I loved him… to quote my other post: “Any time Dahut shows up now I’m like OH THANK GOD someone who doesn’t need therapy” 🤡 never before have I been so utterly devastated by a character’s betrayal 💀
And 2) Ankou being Adolphe punched me in the gut, stole my purse, and kicked my dog, I was thinking there had to be time travel or multiverse shenanigans but not like that… (I love Ankou but tbh Adolphe is just kinda, meh to me? So I’m conflicted…) Though the real kicker was the fact that HE WAS AMERICAN THIS WHOLE TIME HELL, YEAH USA!! USA!! USA!! 🔫 (LOL sorry jkjk… but no really when he pulled out a fucking gun I busted out laughing, bitch why did you not use this earlier 😂)
But anyways, back to the route itself! I very much loved the character interactions we got with Ceres, Adolphe, and Ankou! Very cute, very wholesome, and Ankou in lounge wear…? *chef’s kiss* 👀 Although this is when I noticed that they both had such shiny blue earrings… maybe in my heart I knew all along… I also still love the friendship between Nadia and Dahut… 😔 and Ankou meeting Yves was so sweet!(even though knowing the truth now makes it… oof in hindsight) but good to know we all support Yves being with Ceres 😂
This route kinda turned me off Salome though? Like yandere tendencies aside, in every other route she was just the loving, maybe a bit overprotective milf (yeah I said it fight me) with a complicated and tragic past… but damn really was not a fan of her actually being the queen and Dahut’s mom. Kinda mad she killed him in the end 😬 (also, my god the teenage pregnancies must be wild in this country)
Also I am SO. SICK. OF CAPUCINE!! PLEASE STOP SHOWING UP AND BEING CREEPY TOWARDS NADIA AND A DICK TO LUCAS!! Him, the Royal family, and honestly the vast majority of the people in Arpechele suck major donkey balls oh my god. Y’know what I kinda support Dahut’s plan to just burn the country to the ground, we stan a short king 👑
… is it bad though that Capucine’s kinda grown on me? LOL, like I still hate his guts (thank you Scien our god for blowing him up) but it’s kinda hilarious watching him when things don’t go his way 😂 idk if I find him a kind of well written villain or if I have Stockholm syndrome after we’ve been forced to see him in every route 💀
Jean on the other hand! I am so happy that my evil hot butler turned into a reluctant ally in this route!! The bit where he and Mathis had to help Scien was very super cute, and poor sweet Mathis you are so forgiving, you deserve so much better, I hope Jean treats you nicer 😔 I respect his one-track mind for Rosalie though, man has a mission to get his wife back and by god he’s not gonna let anything stop him lmao 🫡
Gotta say though, I don’t remember exactly what triggered this but I just remember thinking, “oh more science to ignore!” So, yeah it… did not get better lmao. Like, some hand-wavey science is fine for world building and stuff, but when your plot hinges on the science and details, it’s really gotta have a more solid foundation than this. It’s not even nitpicking, it really doesn’t make sense if you think about it for more than one second 😂
Ngl I kinda wish that they had kept the supernatural aspect (not just because I’m not super keen on Ankou being Adolphe…), it would’ve made the nonsensical science easier to digest so they wouldn’t have been forced to explain everything away. Like, if it’s all grounded in reality, answer me this game! Although, no magic does make Ankou’s “vanishing” kinda hilarious since it meant he really did have to just run and hide behind whatever he could find. Like that’s inching towards JJBA part 3 DIO stopping time and carrying polnareff two steps down the staircase just to fuck with him levels of petty and dramatic LOL, but also have you seen how long and flowy this man’s hair and clothes are, Ceres how did you not notice?? Girl is you dumb??? 😂
Also I find adolphe being 25 while Ceres is 18 a little bit sus, and I’m really not a fan of the “big brother” figure becoming a love interest trope (I know they’re not blood related but still 😬). If Ankou had actually been a supernatural entity that was hundreds of years old, I would’ve been totally fine with that lmao, but him being Adolphe?? Mmmmm… mmmm unfortunately that’s a no from me, damn I’m actually kinda disappointed, just gonna make up something in my head and pretend that fact doesn’t exist 😔
I LOVE that all our boys + Jean(LOL) banded together in this route though!! Seeing them all alive made me so relieved oh my god 😭 wish we got a little bit more Lucas (yes I’m biased) but I get it, he’s too OP lmao, they literally had to nerf him with incurable anime disease before the game even started or else he’d be too much of a threat 💀

Okay. I think that’s all the word vomit I have… tldr; Dahut is a short king, Salome kinda sucks to me, Ankou still >>> Adolphe (sorry Adolphe fans) and I wish there actually was a supernatural aspect, loved the squad of my boys + Jean helping out!
My personal character rankings now are Lucas > Jean(I know he’s not an LI just let me be delusional💀) > Ankou (took a hit being Adolphe but he’s so pretty it makes up for it) > Yves > Scien = Mathis > Adolphe
I’m still emotionally devastated but I’ll probably do the rest of the despair ends today and then all the salvation ends tomorrow/the day after depending on how long they take… I think I’ll just squeeze them all into one ramble lmao
Hoooo boy this was a doozy, still love the game despite my complaints, looking forward to being destroyed again by the salvation ends (I just know Lucas’s is gonna suck) 😂

i am just now comprehending this question lol i was about to say it's a wild choice to make but i just realised the common denominator lmaoo
nlmg was my first pondphuwin show and my introduction to pond; i started watching it just to keep up with the community though i believed it was going to be too sad for me. i enjoyed watching it weekly, giffing it, contemplating palmnueng's dynamic and writing about it (thanks to the anon who asked me a question back then which i took days to answer 🤦♀️) - i did not, however, enjoy the last episodes as much, especially the finale - i was practically waiting for it to end impatiently. i think a part of why i enjoyed it was participating in the community discussions and stuff and also having an episode or two per week made it easier to digest. once i was binging, though, i became more impatient with the plotholes and conveniences.
futs was A Lot - the humour hit more than it missed or at least i'd like to think it did - the kitty gang are one of the most fun friend group supporting characters (also satang nail polish >>>) and despite the weirdest, most out of left field conflict between them in the last episodes, duean and meen remain a very cute side couple that could beat morkpi in many categories. there was a red lamp going off in my head during the first six episodes but im the type to give the benefit of the doubt so i ignored it until i couldn't anymore. i binged this show in two bites iirc - i stopped at the end of ep.5 and then proceeded the next day - 2 episodes later i was already having a Not good time lol, trying to justify things, hoping it's all intentional, that things will get better and when they kept getting worse? oh, it took a toll on me. i'm so grateful for the humour, aesthetics and supporting cast for getting me through it. because it truly is an enjoyable little show when it stays away from mork (and would i LOVE to stay away from mork - even pond playing him couldn't help, it actually made me associate pond's appearance with mork which was awful ngl)
yeah, anyways, if i have to pick i want to say nlmg, i just realised i even watched the our skyy 2 episodes and they were perfect and highlighted the couple's dynamic beautifully
the truth is if i haven't watched smth in a while i'll probably just think of how easy to the eye i found it and in this case it wasn't the muted greens, browns, blues and purples of nlmg :')
futs drove me up the wall, left me angrier than i thought possible, made me sick of pond's face and left me in disbelief nearly every episode, i watched the finale angry and ready to leave it all behind. which is honestly so impressive?? cause after all the anger i barely remember the feeling but i remember that it was colourful and quirky. maybe it's a me thing but still, it's valuable. when i read fish upon the sky i get hit by so many emotions at once, you'd think it's of the quality of itsay or smth.
basically: nlmg is closer to my heart. futs is closer to my fist. they're both pondphuwin projects i watched/restarted watching under influence (iirc @respectthepetty's for nlmg and @sparklyeyedhimbo and @pondphuwin's for futs), they both have their higher chemistry/lower chemistry couples, their silly and not-so-silly villains, their ups and their downs. i will pick nlmg but futs is a winner too, it's just in a league of its own.

Hi, Elie! I do apologize for the late reply and thank you for sending this lovely question.
Top 10 is quite difficult, to be honest because I love more than a hundred characters. But anyways, let me mention 10 characters that I love even now. These are not exactly arranged chronologically:
Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds)
he's a genius and a smart mouth
he's socially awkward but he's trying
he's good with magic
the show literally f*cked him too many times which made me love him even more [i am aware of the fact that there's something wrong with me so don't mind me (ᵔ.ᵔ)]
2. Five (The Umbrella Academy)
he can time-travel and teleport
after failing big time when he tried to do time travel and got stuck in the future for over 40 years, he managed to get back to 2019 but got stuck in his 13-year-old body, kiddo in a "short pants" who speaks like a 60-year-old man, who wouldn't love him?
he's a genius and a tactician
he's very sarcastic and quite intimidating which is why some people call him "little shit", "our little psycho", "kinder-shit"
he also became an assassin when he got stuck in the future - 13-year-old body + 60-year-old mind + master killer (come on, he's a complete package, right?)
3. 12th Doctor (Doctor Who)
I haven't watched the classic Doctor Who so I can't really compare so between the 9th to the 13th doctor, I love the 12th doctor the most
actor Peter Capaldi did a great job in portraying the role, in my opinion. he is a fan of the series and him playing the role of the doctor really shows how much he loves the character
ngl, at first i thought, he was too old, what happened to the doctor? but as i watched the series featuring the 12th doctor, i get to love the character even more. the doctor is already over a thousand years old and him playing the role showed his wisdom and his experience of that who lived a very long weary life
i'm always attracted to eccentric genius characters and the doctor is definitely one of them, not to mention, the sarcasm, the banter, the 12th doctor delivered this so well
4. Son Hak (Akatsuki no Yona)
he's probably the main reason why i will never get married. hahaha! just kidding
even though he loves Yona (the female protagonist) romantically, he never wished for them to be together, he was even willing to protect Yona and Soo-Won (after they get married in the future) and be by their side for the rest of his life
he's a good soldier and a good leader and he is loved by his fellow tribe members [he's loved by Yona too (￣ε￣＠)]
he's handsome and charismatic and very reliable, when he's by Yona's side, it feels like nothing can go wrong
he's willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of the people he values so much [this has been proven too many times]
he likes to tease the people he's close with, which is kinda cute
5. Akaboshi Bisco (Sabikui Bisco)
he's charismatic and very reliable. when he says he's gonna do something, he follows through no matter how difficult the situation is
he's good at bantering, and his antics with his partner, Milo, is just so fun to watch
he's hot, a badass character and he's red-haired, what can I do? ( ◡‿◡ *)
he has this wild aura and appears rough around the edges but he actually cares
6. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
he's just so funny and cute and an idiot (in a good way)
he loves meat too much
he doesn't claim to be a good person, he just follows what he thinks he has and wants to do
I just can't get enough of him, how can a character be so cold and cute at the same time??
7. Accelerator (To Aru Majutsu no Index)
this character started off as an antagonist of the franchise, he became one of the main characters at a later time but I already loved his character because he's just so crazy and f*cked up
his voice actor is Okamoto Nobuhiko (Bakugo's VA) and he really did a great job of emphasizing the character's personality through his voice
his character development is superb, you'd think he's pure evil because of what he's done in the past but then he went ahead and sacrificed himself for this one child (Last Order)
his ability is vector manipulation. he's the number one esper in Academy City (city where the story takes place). he's capable of making high-level calculations that would allow him to manipulate every vectors that he's so overpowered
his ability became limited when he got shot in the head when he was trying to save Last Order (he had to rely on this so-called Misaka Network) so he could perform his calculations again over a limited period of time
meeting Last Order changed his life, this little girl became so important to him that he would do anything just so she could have a normal life (i always love watching this older guy-little girl relationship especially if the older guy is sort of like a bad/wild character)
8. Levi Ackerman (Shingeki no Kyojin)
who wouldn't love this adorable little man? and yet he's humanity's strongest ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ﾉ
he's sassy and a smart mouth and he gets away with it all the time
he's very particular when it comes to cleanliness
he acts so tough but he's quite a softy on the inside (IMO. LOL)
9. Tomioka Giyuu (Kimetsu no Yaiba)
he's socially awkward that it's so adorable
my other bias would be his voice actor - Sakurai Takahiro (just perfect)
the water breathing technique really suits his personality, calm but constantly flowing, quiet but passionate
10. Sawamura Eijun (Daiya no Ace)
i think i already mentioned why i love this character but anyway, he's just an inspiration to me
he's hardworking, has guts, courageous, loyal, passionate
he's just full of optimism and honesty
he deserves better

So, I picked up The Nonary Games t'other day, and I have a few observations (from completing 999 and being ??% through Virtue's Last Reward):
1. Wow is it wild how many number base based puzzles are in 999. Like, I think part of the reason it took me comparitively little time to complete is my actual maths/CS degree.
2. Okay also mathematical/computational thinking more generally because "oh, this is isomorphic to a tile flip puzzle" is a thought I had at one point, in those words (I did cheat slightly on that one post-revelation, because I suck at tile flip puzzles. Also the magic square puzzle, though the hard part is recognising what it is)
3. Meanwhile my god VLR we do not need like 4 mini cutscenes between short text segments. Show one of: the door with the name opening and closing; the beeping map motion; the establishing shots of the new room; or the black screen with the name on! Heck maybe even 2 of them! Just don't do all four of them! Really! There are just constant 30+ second long unstoppable cutscenes and. Just. Why?!
4. Seriously, I took to timing the room transitions. One I encountered took around an entire minute because it included maps and doors for interstitial rooms too.
5. Honestly, I know the development timeline mean's it's not completely feasible, but I am still a bit surprised that Roko's Basilisk hasn't come up in VLR. It just feels like something that fits the pseudoscience (the steam store page literally uses the word "pseudoscience!") vibe.
6. Luna, my beloved. Okay this isn't really an"observation" but I really want to note it.
7. Okay, so, I think 999 works a lot better for me because seriously there are so many dead ends and story locks in VLR. Okay, so just going for what I vibed with lead to the story lock, singular, in 999 first route I tried, but that happened for the first several in VLR which is a bit "oh come on". I have since managed to get a few endings... And ran into several more story locks.
8. I appreciate that in one TL of VLR they do address the benefits of cooperating in the Prisoner's Dilemma explicitly pre-voting (as for post, see point 6), but I don't think the idea of the iterated Prisoner's Dilemma came up in any first round conversations, which is an actual odd miss.
9. Ngl, I do feel a wee bit awkward about the spicier costuming choices, given the probability of someone seeing the screen over my shoulder.
I probably have more to say, but that seems like a good number to leave it on.
Actually hang on, I'm not going to wreck the numbering for this, but: oh man VLR's camera controls are not working well for me rn. Talk about the the true final boss. Really, it speaks to the merits (that I have glossed over a bit here) of the game that I've still solved a bunch of rooms.

I don't really know what to think about the Vestige All Might stuff. At first I thought it was just Bakugou's way of saying goodbye, like he's conjuring up this vision of younger All Might in OFA as a way to give himself closure or smthg. But idk what it's really about
If not that, then I can only think 1) somehow OFA has rubbed off onto Bakugou and that's why he's seeing Vestige All Might, he's getting little specks of power from it, or 2) It's something connected to Heroes Rising
Which... I know a lot of people are already not wild about. but eh, idk
Either way I think the scene was clear and pretty, a stark contrast between the bloody and messy scenes at UA, and we got some soft Bakugou out of it

Look at everyone fighting for him! All the big three, Miruko, Best Jeanist, all of them just trying to save Bakugou
Actually, because of that, I realised that Bakugou is the youngest kid on the battlefield (apart from Monoma but. he's not directly fighting like Bakugou is). So all of these older kids and adults actively trying to save this kid from being killed is just 🥺😭
I really really love the sudden talk of the weather. Just the visual of Bakugou falling and Best Jeanist trying to catch him, and then the tv/radio talking about something as mundane as the weather, when a literal war is going on. idk it just very good in contrast
Plus the fact that the weather talk shows Mitsuki and Masaru thinking about their son while all of this is happening 😔
And Aizawa looks like he's about to do smthg!
Like he's about to jump into the battlefield and fight TomurAFO or smthg. how heartbreaking would that be, right after just seeing his student "die" too
All in all, I loved this chapter and hated it too. For the feels it gave me. Hori why. HORI WHY THE BREAK. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING TO US. the madman
