Last night's episode of Cherry Magic marked the ending of the anime series. With how the ending went, it seemingly confirmed that there will be no more new season. So for those who have only watched the anime, and still want more, you can continue their story by reading the manga.
Anime ending and manga spoilers are under the cut...
It was indeed a happy ending but there are struggles along the way as the main couple's relationship progresses. Unfortunately, with how short the anime series is (with only 12 episodes), there were not enough episodes to showcase these events. I was almost happy when they announced a movie but it only contains a special edited version of the entire series. I was thinking that it would've been better if they at least released a movie that includes the remaining volumes of the manga that weren't shown in the anime.
What's worth reading in this manga is it showcases the actual struggles of real-life LGBT couples. Starting from getting their families, close friends, and colleagues to accept their relationship up to living their lives together as gay couples. There were heart-wrenching scenes that were extremely relatable but at the end of the day, they got their happy ending.
Anyway, as I've mentioned, you can continue the story by reading the manga instead. Adachi was inspired to have a wedding when he saw a lesbian couple renewing their vows in a church. There are a few more good scenes in the manga that are no longer included in the anime so feel free to check them out! The manga is still ongoing and I am excited to see them live together as an official couple. ^^
And by the way, Rokkaku's reaction when he imagined Adachi & Kurosawa dating is so precious.
