This is so fringe for tumblr but it’s also completely hilarious so I’m gonna share with the group.
Background: Basically how marriage works in islam (and therefore in Islamic/Muslim majority countries) is that the groom and his family pay for everything, the house, the furnishings, the wedding, even the bride’s clothes. As in, pjs and underwear and outfits for different seasons, as well as giving the bride a monetary gift (Mahr). This is all well and good, but unrealistic for impoverished North African countries. So what Egyptians do instead is that these costs are split between the bride and groom (and their families). The groom acquires an apartment, and depending on which area of Egypt they’re in there’s a cultural knowledge of what furnishings fall to the groom vs the bride. Mostly things like actual furniture and the bulk of electronic items falls to the groom, while things like curtains and carpets and bedspreads and towels and cutlery falls to the bride, along with a few electronics like TVs, microwaves and, recently, dishwashers. The details are hashed out privately.
Now, the house is in the groom’s name and men started doing this thing where they divorce women and take all the shit the women had bought for the house. Which is like, a lot. To keep our rights protected, because lord knows the state won’t do shit to protect us, women started doing this thing where they write extremely detailed lists of all the things they bought for the marital home and how much it costs. A couple of witnesses and the groom would then sign this ‘list of purchases’ as proof that it’s debt payable to the bride in case of divorce (or death, if the late husband’s family tries to defraud her out of her things during the handling of the inheritance). Men, of course, have been opposed to this concept for decades and have launched multiple campaigns against it, the last of which went viral just a few days ago.
Egyptian women, fed up with the bs we’ve been taking from the least useful men on earth, kinda just went… okay then, buy everything your own damn selves, and started a social media campaign of memes about men rushing to stores for bargains on pots and pans, and arguing with their mothers about the number of towels they need to get to ‘not be seen as lesser than my cousin’. It’s very much an inversion of the humiliating bullshit women go through to get married in this country, but nothing on earth will be funnier to me than Egyptian men going ‘we wont sign lists of purchase anymore’ and this new generation of Egyptian women going ‘okay then we ain’t buying shit. Have fun arguing with the seamstress about the price of fabric per meter for living room curtains.’
PS: men came back with ‘we’ll do the absolute bare minimum of furnishings and you’ll have to just accept that and live with it’ in hopes of deterring women from not sharing in marriage costs, and women were just like ‘no, actually, Islam says marriage is for he who can afford it, if you cant afford it just fast like islam tells you to :)))))’
Men: ‘you’ll all become spinsters’
Women: ‘we’ll just start marrying foreign men’

Is it cheating to choose a character who basically is Jeff Satur? Maybe. But he's a musician with strong hands and emo hair and I am weak.
Dr. Jedi (Oxygen the Series)
I know we all blocked the doctor subplot from our minds. But this man was quiet, caring, and thirsting for years, he's got some pent-up aggression to get out and I volunteer as tribute. Also he's both extremely competent and a sad boi, two qualities I find very attractive. And that spiky hair is begging to be pulled.
Choi Yu Na (Semantic Error)
While the boys were running around being their messy selves, Yu Na was being a calm, competent, bisexual queen. The embodiment of "do I want to do her or be her", but in this case the answer is definitely both. Guh. I legitimately can't sentence when she's on the screen.
Gumpa (Not Me the series)
This show is of course filled with attractive men. But only one of them has built a found family and resistance group in his garage and was the only one who knew White wasn't Black, and look we've already established that competence is a kink of mine.
Namo (Not Me the series)
Ok but also Namo was smart enough to Not Get Involved, and she was artistic, and also gave off a kind of sad boi energy, and goddd her style in this. She wouldn't even need to do anything except let me worship her, I would do all the work.
Naruse Ryu (Ossan's Love: In the Sky)
Controversial but NGL one of the troubles I had with this AU S2 was that Naruse was so attractive I just wanted him to get laid and be happy. He's a competent, beautiful, confident, slightly bratty sad boi who isn't afraid to put you where he wants you; we could have fun.
YoonWon (The Eighth Sense)
This woman holds together the whole swim club, casually drinks everyone under the table, and gets her man, all while taking absolutely nothing seriously for most of the show. She can get me first.
Tua Phee (Dear Doctor, I'm Coming For Soul)
Tall, brooding, competent, caring, sad boi....clearly I have a type. Plus, he literally disappears, guaranteeing no complications.

OK YES I SEE A THEME [Note: Wang could also get it but I don't know if I could match his energy. In, on the other hand, this man looks like he jackhammers until you're done and then stares at a wall].
Yamato Kumai (Restart Tadaima no Ato De)
Please, no wonder Mitsuomi saw him and immediately latched on like a limpet. He's just the right amount of listless that he'd be down for whatever, but not enough that he wouldn't get into it.
Maya (Laws of Attraction)
The choice between Rose and Maya was EXCRUCIATING but while both could step on me, Maya would also let me step on them and I am nothing if not verse. Also the tattoos! And again do I need to repeat: Musicians have strong fingers.
Sunny (Our Dating Sim)
Extremely queer-coded, quiet, competent, tall, sad boi energy, would definitely tell me what she wants and expect that I meet her standards.
Kim (Diary of Tootsies)
NGL I love Natty in this show but she got elbowed out of the way by this man. We know from the show he has game, and we've already established I'm here for verse behaviour. Let's all ignore that he also has floppy hair.
Jay (Discipline Z: Vampire)
This was a close call with Ji Han (tall, floppy dark hair, sad boi, competent, we all know the drill by now) but in my heart of hearts honesty, when I think of Jay in her giant boots and her hacking skills I drool a little.
Daisy (Secret Crush on You)
I admit I don't usually prefer the 'innocence ready to be moulded' as a thing, but Daisy walks that confident/lack of confidence line so well that I think once they were comfortable we'd have fun and they could use me for practice all they want. [This is one in particular where I would 100% be down for a threesome. These two would not let you feel like a third wheel!]
Nawin (Laws of Attraction)
This is the man who defies all my rules and in breaking them is extremely hot. He's unhinged. He's massively entitled. He's baby. He's exactly the type to get obsessed after a one night stand. He's not particularly effective. AND YET. When he runs on screen covered in blood, wearing bloody knuckles, with a massive dorky grin on his face? Everything in me said IN ME (at least he has floppy hair, I am still predictable in one way).

hello friends welcome to GRADING TORTURED POET SOCIETY SONGS BASED ON HOW EASILY I COULD TURN THEM INTO A HAYFFIE FIC (PART ONE) i hope u enjoy.
(for those interested but also my own future reference when i eventual do turn them into hayffie fics hehe)
i. fortnight: 5/10. potential post-war effie reflecting on their pre-canon and during-canon situationship. the "i love you / it's ruining my life" vibe is very Them but i'd have to write my way around all the wife lines.
ii. the tortured poets department: 8/10. good early-to-mid-situationship hayffie. good moments for haymitch trauma angst stuff. "who's gonna hold you like me?" is them. the wedding ring line could be just them messing around while drunk one night during games season; it's when effie realizes it's Real.
iii. my boy only breaks his favourite toys: 9/10. excellent endish situationship hayffie vibes, 74th + 75th era. has good lines for effie as doll / toy / trinket (ha) imagery. also good imagery for effie and haymitch both being pieces in The Games. also "he runs because he loves me" and "he was my best friend" and "there was danger in the heat of my touch" ... need i go on?
iv. down bad: 7/10. good for their relationship between the end of the war and when effie actually moves to twelve. "how dare you think it's romantic / leaving me safe and stranded" literally them. also lots of good stuff for effie's post-war isolation in the capitol.
v. so long, london: 3/10. has the potential for a (book-verse) post-war angst fic where effie and haymitch try their absolute hardest but ultimately have too much trauma + damage to make it work. idk if i wanna do that tho.
vi. but daddy i love him: 9/10. excellent song for pre-canon hayffie all around. effie's relationship to her womanhood / escorting in the capitol? check. effie's inner conflict over her feelings for haymitch vs. her capitolborn beliefs? check. "dutiful daughter, all my plans were laid" but oh no haymitch ruined them! we cheered! joking that she's having haymitch's baby to her parents just to piss them off... very effie behaviour. excellent song for that Haymitch Is Unlike The Capitol Dandies Effie's Been Raised To Love theme that i like. "i know he's crazy but he's the one".
vii. fresh out the slammer: 7/10. good song for smack in the middle of their situationship. winter vs. summer parallels. effie's seasons without haymitch vs. games season. restriction with her capitol bfs vs. freedom with haymitch. "all those nights he kept me going". the end is good for a post-war hayffie happiness moment.
viii. florida!!!: 8/10. really good song for a Effie's Relationship With The Capitol fic. the isolation, the beauty covering ugliness, etc. "this city reeks of driving myself crazy". "at least the dolls are beautiful" that's literally about the escorts. "you home's really only the town you'll get arrested in" okayyy book-verse effie angst.
ix. guilty as sin?: 10/10. HORNY HAYFFIE ANTHEM. i need to get back in my writing proper smut era i fear. so so much material for haymitch worshiping at the altar of effie's hips and thighs. a song for people who believe that like a good 65% of their relationship is based on the fact that they're both incredibly hot and they both love having incredible sex. true love tbh.
x. who's afraid of little old me?: 9/10. excellent fic for the Effie's Relationship With Her Escort Career stuff that i love. "so tell me everything is not about me / but what if it is?" self centered queen! the general backstage horrors of escorting. "i was tame, i was gentle, till the circus life made me mean" ... "you wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me" ... "i am what i am cause you trained me" .... yeah.
xi. i can fix him (no really i can): 4/10. potential for a very very early situationship hayffie. general haymitch being a traumatized mess and effie trying her very hardest to help vibes.
xii. loml: 6/10. the first half is excellent for post-war hayffie coming back together. "who's gonna stop us from waltzing back into rekindled flames" yeahhh. but the second half ... the "you're the loss of my life" vibe ... could fit into the (book-verse) No Matter How Hard They Try They're Too Traumatized To Make It Work narrative but idk.
xiii. i can do it with a broken heart: 10/10. THE PERFECT SONG for 75th era effie being the perfect escort despite the fact that the world is falling away beneath her feet. "I cry a lot but I am so productive! It's an art!" is sooooo her. "i'm so obsessed with him but he avoids me like a plague" is haymitch avoiding her in an attempt to save her from Rebel Stuff but effie knows their relationship is only becoming more serious. she's miserable! she's hitting her marks! eyes bright! chins up! smiles on! everyone she loves might die! it's fine!
xiv. the smallest man who ever lived: 1/10. not a hayffie song at all. BUT potential effie + seneca relationship study fic?? mayhaps???
xv. alchemy: 7/10. good song for book-verse post-war post-torture effie going to haymitch in twelve. she's ditching the capitol, she's going back to her man! who are they to fight the alchemy? how could they ever deny it? his heart is reserved for her. the soulmastism! (not that they would ever admit that lmao)
xvi. clara bow: 10/10. ANOTHER PERFECT EFFIE CHARACTER STUDY SONG! the rose imagery? snow's impact on her life. "this town is fake, but you're the real thing". effie's relationship with the capitol / escorting / womanhood / fame / youth / patriarchy / etc. "flesh and blood amongst war machines" literally the escorts amongst The Games. "hell on earth is to be heavenly" + "promise to be dazzling". sexualization has liberated effie (given her a career, money, freedom) but at what cost? it's also her gilded cage.

Do you think you could rate how Tiger lily chops Wood I mean she's lived in a forest all her life I'm assuming that she'd be at least OK at it
she's swinging behind her head, and doesn't quite have the transfer of weight down, but her arms? delight me. they're one degree shy of perfect: her right hand is higher than the left and slides down as she swings. the only thing i would change is her stance, its a bit wide. oh, and and she's swinging a little high, but still a solid 8/10
very very good! his feet are firmly in the right place, his hips are facing sideways and the transfer of weight is clear and very strong. i'd reccommend he try swinging more from his torso if he wants more strength behind it, but i get the idea thats not what he's going for because of the small swing. this also excuses him from the low hand position, cause it's not going to fly out of his grip and the arc is very nice :) 9/10
hate it. he's managing to... reverse... the transfer of weight by pulling away as he swings forward. coward behaviour. his right arm is flapping around weirdly, and it makes it look like his shoulders are on a total swivel, which is a dangerous sign, and he's not going to get anything chopped - at least, not quickly. his confidence gets him his points though. 2/10
why does he look like that what are his legs doing why is he bendy why is he chachachaing real smooth i dont like it. i do like the implication he's an extension of the blade in theory, but in practise this is an incredibly unsafe way to wield an axe. it's weak form, it's too high of an arc and wayyy too close to his face - look, he's even squinting to avoid the splinters! 1/10
his grip? flimsy. his arc? messy. his legs? unstable. his hands? too low on the handle. he's definitely swinging from his back, though! the turn is clear.... i'm almost willing to say he's displaying a good transfer of weight? whatever the case, the lackadaisical leg-kick totally negates that as i am worried he's going to fall over. also someone warn him his pack is slipping bc why does he have a bulge. 5/10
wipe that silly boy smirk off your face this is one of the worst ways to hold an axe. its akin to frost queen's, and that's not a compliment. i can't even judge this because he's not DOING ANYTHING. he looks like he's praying for someone to take pity on him and take over so he can go read. 0/10
terrible! see above. even if you're left handed, you should be standing on the other side of the wood to chop down a tree. all his strength is coming from his hips, somehow? he's doing a strange thrusting thing without moving his knees or shoulders - kudos for squatting while chopping, but if you have normal muscles you're soooo likely to hurt yourself king 1/10
her body is facing more forwards than anyone, which restricts her movement a lot. she's only using one hand - although to be fair, her strength doesn't come directly from her shoulder as she does a little *tense* before swinging that probably decreases the chance of pulling a muscle. i know kougin amann has disproportionate strength so this is an illusion, but no one is above proper form, and this is not proper form. 2/10

Top 20 RotE characters!
My final piece of ranking for this series!
There will be some spoilers in this!
20. Nettle
- If there’s one thing I love, it’s difficult women. Nettle is as harsh as her name suggests. I love young Nettle with her dream magic and how completely kind she is to Thick. And I love older Nettle, who doesn’t mind hurting Fitz’s feeling for Bee’s benefit. She is unforgiving and always strives to do what she thinks is best - even if she doesn’t always know what’s best.
19. Thymara
- Definitely my favourite Rain Wild character. She had my favourite POV in those books as well. I liked how her story paralleled Sintara’s, with her dragon features becoming more beautiful, getting her wings, and her determination to be her own woman. I didn’t love that she ended up with Tats and ended up having a kid with him, but again, it mirrored Sintara’s mating with Mercor.
18. Starling Birdsong
- are we seeing a theme? Starling is so great because she simply does not care if people like her personality. She’s beautiful, she’s talented, and she got her song. The way she destroyed Fitz in Golden Fool was a peak moment in this series. And something i love so much is that no matter how much Fitz complains about her or thinks she’s annoying, he can’t help but like her.
17. Chade Fallstar
- I hate him, I love him, he’s the worst, he’s the best. I’ve said this before - I have complicated feelings about Chade but regardless, they are strong feelings. Ngl, I misjudged his age and thought he was about 80 in the first book so when he made it to the last book?? Incredible. His death got me in a way that I really didn’t expect it to.
16. Dutiful Farseer
- My boy! He had some great development from the most fifteen year old boy ever, to a genuinely good king. I loved his dynamic with Fitz in Fool's Errand. It was really on sight with those two and it was entertaining the entire time.
15. Selden Vestrit
- I saw someone say once that Selden felt like a random npc who managed to get a nat20 on charisma. He's great in Ship of Destiny, and fantastic in the Rain Wild Chronicles. His bond with Chassim was unexpected but so so lovely.
14. Molly Chandler
- I understand why people don't like her. Her character gets in the way of Fitzloved. Soz guys, but I've seen too many female characters get hate because fans were rooting for a mlm ship. Don't get me wrong, its frustrating but Molly never inserts herself in Fitz's life. It the other way around. I think people don't like her less because of who she is and more because of what she represents. She's a simple life, and is the face of Fitz's delusion. But I love her. She's down to earth, she's rough around the edges, she's a simple gal who wants a simple life.
13. Etta
- Etta!!! From a Divvytown prostitute to Queen of the Pirate Isles??? Insane, incredible, showstopping. One thing that I absolutely love about her that I think is overlooked is that, despite how much Kennit was pushing for it and how much Wintrow was pining for her, it did not even cross her mind to get with this 15 year old boy. Kennit is all like 'teach the boys your… skills.' and she's like, ah yes, I will teach him how to use knives. Queen behaviour.
12. Paragon
- Everyone's favourite murderous boat! His dynamic with Amber is great, and his friendship with Brashen is really underrated! He goes from being a grumpy old man to a bratty little boy in seconds (hmmm maybe the similarities between he and Fitz go past the face). He's unpredictable and he will kill again!
11. Althea Vestrit
- I fell in love with her immediately. She's rude to Kyle and then spends the next two weeks sleeping on the floor so she can be closer to Vivacia. She had my heart from the get go. Her ending will always leave a bitter taste in my mouth but none of it is her fault. She starts off a little immature and really grows into a woman worthy of captaining her own ship.
10. Wintrow Haven
- Ship of Magic!Wintrow has my entire heart. He frustrates me to no end with how he treats Vivacia but his arc is insane. He's generally an honourable guy. He frees the slaves and aids in the overthrowing of his father. He becomes a competent sailor and always shows Etta kindness. And despite his corruption by Kennit, he retains his moral compass and grows to be a good guy. I choose to ignore him in Ship of Destiny (just like Robin Hobb oops-) because I don't know who that man is :)
9. Malta Vestrit
- Without a doubt the best Liveships character. She has some of the best development I've ever seen. She's really the Amy March of Bingtown. She's self-centred, annoying, and that girlllllll. I love her so much. She's so clever and achieves so much.
8. Verity Farseer
- MY KING! treated Fitz like a human being which, in this book, is a step up from how most people treat him - especially when he's a boy. He's always a friendly face, even when he's so bogged down by defending the entirety of the Six Duchies with no thanks. He loved very honestly and had great respect for people who deserved it. And in the end, he made the ultimate sacrifice for his people for his folk.
7. Bee Farseer
- She's just as much my daughter as she is Molly's, Fitz's, Nighteyes', and Beloved's. She won me over so quickly, and just when I thought I couldn't love her more, she started biting. I hope one day we see more of her!
6. LadyPatience
- You should have been mine???????? Such a fun, unapologetic character. She is so herself. I feel so seen by her constant, ever-changing hobbies and messy room. She and Lacey are the duo of the century.
5. Burrich
- When I read a book and I fancy a character, I tend to stay loyal to that character. I can love all of the characters, but I only love one. I took one look at Burrich and knew i'd found my man. His parenting skills were questionable at time, but he was doing what he thought was right. He gave up his life to raise Chivalry's son. He stepped up and took care of Molly with no expectations. He raised Nettle like she was his own. Just a solid, good man.
4. Nighteyes
- The best parent in this whole series. He's sarcastic, he's clever, and he's got such an entertaining dry sense of humour. He's a great influence on Fitz and he isn't afraid to call him out. The Wit is such a fantastic aspect of this series and the wit-bond that Fitz and Nighteyes share is so so beautiful.
3. Kettricken
My Queen. I haven't felt this strongly about a character in a long time. Always a beacon of honour in a story of political intrigue, secrets, and betrayal. They really lucked out with this arranged marriage. Not a single person in this story deserved her.
2. Beloved
- Fool, Amber, Lord Golden, Beloved. What a character. every facet of this character is so interesting and deep and beautiful. Amber was THE character in Liveships, the Fool was THE character in Farseer, Beloved with THE character in Tawny Man. THE CHARACTER OF ALL TIME.

Maybe a dumb question but where do you see the BRF in 10 years time?
Pretty much where they are today lol. I think Alexandra and the Duke of Kent might be dead but I think everyone else will still be working, including the Gloucesters. George and Charlotte will be at uni or military training but I expect will do things here and there. I would predict an almost unprecedented level of interest in Charlotte. I think everyone will probably be working in the same way they are now, but hopefully with the Waleses doing more and the royal family starting off the next transition phase (nothing dramatic but the Queen did it too; her last decade was all about preparing people for her not being around without causing panic). I don’t expect Andrew’s status will have changed and I think Harry and Meghan won’t be embraced again and back to normal but they will have moved on to different things and the royals will have moved on to different things and the press will probably be trying their best to create a rivalry between the children instead. Which I think will take hold on here as well, with new young fans pitting the Sussex and Wales kids against each other. And I think they might have lost a couple more Commonwealth Realms but will still be relatively secure elsewhere (I do think William might not be lobbying for the head of the commonwealth job like they did for Charles but that’s just a vibe).
Beyond that I wouldn’t guess as anything can happen in 10 years. 10 years ago no one would have imagined Andrew and Harry wouldn’t be working royals and Camilla would be going by Queen with almost no fuss. What I’ve given is just a few soft assumptions based on how things normally progress, the press’s behaviour, what we know about the royals etc!

10 years of 'I saw that from miles away':
Darrow deserved better from his loved ones from Morning Star on.
It's just frustrating that he had to bury his own traumas to attend to everyone else's, got resented when he asked for time, got villainized when he needed understanding and got used and guilt-tripped and projected on that he is only good as a weapon of distruction and his trying to build something created division.
Why so frustrating? Because they never reciprocate his kindness. They always want something from him, but never try to do for Darrow what he's been doing for them. They forget that they are even able to choose their own path, because Darrow has inspired them to reach out.
When it's Darrow that needs to lean most they can do is distract him, because no one wants to burden themselves with his business. But Darrow does it for them, always. When he cannot hold the worlds on his shoulders, no one wants it, they have their own bones to pick. The only characters that ever want to share his burdens are Virginia and then Holiday and Victra who have certain looks into particular situations (Attica and the Docks of Ganymede).
In Iron Gold, that behaviour from people around him exacerbated over the years - he thinks he has to bear the burdens all by himself because no one wants it, therefore no one can understand. So of course he becomes intransigent to the extreme and makes mistakesand missed calls, but instead of trying to figure things out, he gets abandoned and shunned and villainized without any effort whatsoever.
Darrow spends so much emotional effort into loving people at their worst and trying to be there for them through the series. They just refuse to reciprocate.
(Except Virginia, she may have had her fears rule her a moment, but she accepts it, then understands it and then admits he was right and supports and stands by him, she's the queen, a goddess.)
So yeah, if everyone could stop being a disappointment in Red God, I'd really appreciate it. Because Darrow pretends it doesn't exist, but I see his kindness not returned and I call bullshit.
In short: villainizing and abandoning Darrow ain't the flex his friends and other loved ones think it is.

MARLEY CROWE just stole my cab! not cool, but maybe they needed it more. they have lived in the city for 1 YEAR, working as an ODD JOB MAN. that can’t be easy, especially at only 42 YEARS OLD. some people say they can be a little bit UNSTABLE and IMPULSIVE , but i know them to be RESOURCEFUL and RESILIENT. whatever. i guess i’ll catch the next cab. hope they like the ride back to QUEENS!

Before New York.
Marley grew up on a disused farm. With plenty of overgrown land to explore. He spent most of his childhood playing with sticks, rocks and mud. He had a vibrant imagination and could spend whole summers just amusing himself surrounded by nature.
He was homeschooled by his mother until he was about 15. He's got the basics down, but, it was clear from an early age that he wasn't the academic type.
From he was about 10, his father began to teach him a little bit of everything he knew. They went hunting together and he taught him basic woodworking as well as home and vehicle maintenance. They were never particularly close, but Marley looks back on their time of silent co-working with great nostalgia.
He worked mainly as a carpenter until he was 36. He still lived in the family home, maintaining the property as his parents got older. However, his life took a drastic turn. His father died suddenly and the grief took his mother a few years later. Now completely alone, he began to neglect both his home and himself as he turned to alcohol to try and cope with the sudden change in his life.
Desperate to turn things around, on a sudden whim of rare clarity, he booked himself into a treatment centre in New York, selling the family home to afford his medical care as well as an apartment.

Present Day.
Marley lasted less than six months in the rehabilitation programme before he insisted that he could do it alone and that having all the people around him was just making things worse. And so, he left and took his few belongings to the cheap apartment he'd purchased in Queens.
Marley works, but, he's extremely inconsistent. He's good with his hands and takes up a lot of 'cash-in-hand' style odd jobs. Such as painting, woodwork, basic household plumbing/electrics and other manual labour jobs. However, getting him to show up and be reliable when he does, is often a struggle.
He often has little cash and that he does have he tends to squander. So, it wouldn't be unusual to see him dumpster diving or thrifting for essentials. His current prized possession is a wind-up vinyl player as he can still enjoy it whenever his electric gets cut off.
His home is in relative squalor. Despite his ability to tend to things, he is neglectful both of himself and his surroundings. His home is untidy. He doesn't have too many possessions, but, they tend to be strewn around as he sets things down and forgets about them.
Marley wants to do better for himself. But, he's ambivalent between feeling he deserves more out of his life, and feeling that he's ruined his chances and may as well not bother trying, as he feels he'll only fail anyway.

The Bad Influence.
Someone who's only there for a good time. A fairweather friend. Marley can be witty and excitable, but he can also be impulsive and end up in over his head. You love the fun you guys have together, but, when it goes on too long and he ends up in trouble, you're nowhere to be seen.
The Mother Hen.
Someone who genuinely wants to be his friend and wants to help him be the best version of himself he can be. In a sense, you feel sorry for him. It makes you feel better to help him clean up, or to fix him breakfast or tend to his wounds. Though, you draw a line and refuse to engage in his self destructive behaviours alongside him.
The Romantic Interest.
Someone who sees something special in Marley. Maybe you think you can fix him, maybe you love him just the way he is. You just want to be there and be part of the journey, if only he'd let you in.
The Dog Catcher.
Someone who's sick of Marley always bothering them. Perhaps you're a small business owner and he's rummaging around in your dumpster leaving a mess, or, you're a neighbour and his 3am music sessions are keeping you awake. Whatever the reason, you want the problem muzzled before it gets out of hand.
The Raccoon.
Marley seems to know all the good spots in town to get a free meal or cheap items. You happen to know he's also able to make furniture and fix up cars. You want him to like you, and you want to help him, but, only because he has the ability to help you in return if he lets you tag along.
The Concerned Onlooker.
Someone who frequents the same bars as Marley. You've seen him fall asleep in there as many times as you've seen him get kicked to the kerb. You don't know him too well, but, you have a casual chat here and there before things get too intense. Maybe you should say something, but, is it really your place?

if you don't know me basically i came up with a story where the entire magic system was based around the French suit of playing cards which are different Houses which are as follows; Spades (Air) are the scholars where most are the notabilities, Diamonds (Earth/Flora) are merchant traders, Clubs (Fire) are the warriors and Hearts (Water) are like the bishop/caretakers, the rankings are how powerfult heir are and kind determine their status kinda
So far in my head, the SootCraft family are all Spades like I physcially cannot imagine Phil being NOT King of Spades and Wilbur Jack of Spades. the kids all start off as aces so both Tallulah and Chayanne are Aces of Spades.
Then Forever is King of Hearts and Richas most likely will also be Ace of Hearts. I’m undecided if Baghera would be a Queen/Jack of Hearts or Clubs because she feels like both to me, both being family community oriented and very head strong. (Queen is different from Jack in teh sense that the Jack is about to become either a King or Queen, its not really gender based at all its more that Queens are connected to the people, Kings lead the people mainly)
Bad might be also Queen of Hearts or something (and skeppy can be diamonds because why the hell not)

Tazercraft i like the idea of Pac being Clubs and Mike being Diamonds, it feels fitting for them somehow, probably both of them being 6 of their suits respectively

Roier is Diamonds just by how giving freely his own love away and its traded back as others love as well, he is very well connected to people and gives most of himself and sometimes he gets betrayed but he gives anyway
Jaiden is SO Hearts, Queen of hearts or Ten of Hearts, she loved Bobby so much and seh cares abotu others evry much she will do anything,
(Diamonds indicators how they interact with their givings and recievings, what they trade for and the effort to do so, for Etoiles its both material and metaphysical by just how much effort he aspires for the hunt, Roier its metaphorical with his own heart and love, its about the tradddeeees boys)
(for me hearts is fully emotional coded, its the connections and the value of their connections if it makes sense, the dramatrio they value their family above all else)
Charlie and Mariana, Hearts coded to all hell btw but also Clubs coded to an extent, both have things to do with emotional passion, both to each other and to their daughter, like they value that connection between them very much more than anything even if it hurts them (esp by how much fuckin much fire symbolsim in them liek jesus) Juana must eb Clubs tho, its very important.
Quackity GOD hes so Ace of Diamonds, he trades everything and gets nothing in return, bitchless behaviour hes so sad

and then ElQuackity can be Ace of Spades, HEHEHEHEH IT MAKES SENSE

GAP The Series Episode 7 Thoughts
Happy New Year everyone. The sapphics are here to own 2023!!!
And of course we are starting with Kirk the Snitch, Kirk the Traitor, Kirk the Betrayer, Kirk the Backstabber, on his knees with that fucking ring and his fucking proposal, and URGH, everyone is pressuring her to say yes. I HATE THIS SHIT!!!!!!!!
2, Good. I hope you feel as stupid as you look Kirk; holding onto that ring box whilst Sam runs away from your ass without giving you an answer. Hope somewhere in that brain you aren't using, you get a semblance of a clue!
3, Oh God. They really hit us straight away with the pain. Poor Mon. My baby. This pain! And now she's doing the flashbacks to the friends asking about her relationship with Sam? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!! I can't handle this!!!!
4. Why are you asking for time to clear things up Sam? There's nothing to clear up. Just tell him "No." Urgh!!! And before anyone starts talking, yes I know she doesn't have a choice and her grandmother has set things up in a way where she has no choice but to kowtow to her, but dammit I don't care. And that's my prerogative!
5. Ngl, if I show up at the office early, and notice that there's no one around, only for something to suddenly touch me from behind, I'm screaming like a banshee and hitting like a Shaolin master.
6. Now they've switched roles. It's Mon's turn to come knocking at Sam's door in the hopes that she will let her in. Let it not be said that Sammon are not equal-opportunity lovers.
7. Damn. Sam really took the two days that Mon wasn't at work to be all "HOW CAN I HURT THE GIRL I LIKE FOR NO REASON APPARENTLY BECAUSE... DRAMA!!!!" Because fuck if this isn't unnecessarily. Seriously, this is going to come around and bite her in the ass, and I hope Mon demands that she FUCKING GROVELS, when she finally gets her head out of her ass because WHAT THE FUCK???????????
8. But seriously though. This is shitty behaviour. As her boss, if she wasn't so wrapped up in her fucking feelings, and emotionally constipated, having a new account reach 499k in a month is something you reward and encourage, even if you want to put in the screws for your employee to meet the deadline. Mon is being generous by saying that Sam is a stickler for rules at work, because this is clearly not about work, but instead, Sam is letting her personal feelings cloud her professional judgement and this is really trash. URGH!!! I knew this episode would frustrate me to no end, but WTF?!!!!
9. See what I mean? Now poor Mon is thinking that the fault is with her. That she's to blame for Sam being an absolute DICK. And I can't. URGH!!! Mon girl, I am so sorry. You do not deserve this. This is why they say never meet your idols y'all. That's when you find out that they have the emotional capacity of a teaspoon. URGH!!!!
10. Sam has the best friends. I swear she must have saved someone pretty important in her previous life with how hard they are working to right her wrongs and comfort her girl.

Sure she always says the opposite of what she means. But that's because she's emotionally constipated. And now that she's released her emotions with one loud, big fart, she's telling you EXACTLY how she feels. But the ONE braincell you both keep exchanging, seems to be with Sam at the moment, which is making you an absolute dumbass. And I'm LOVING IT!!!!
22. Look at Tee and Yuki sitting right beside each other. My babies!! My beautiful secondary ship. They look sooo good together. Gah!!!! Look at that pretty! LOOK AT ALL THAT PRETTY!!!!!

Also, that preview is GIVING!!!!! Sam and Mon have sex. Kirk brings his heterosexual drama? It looks like we are in for another rollercoaster. But I know I'll survive it easily, cuz my faves are FINALLY together, and now I can have some peace. Until the drama comes in the later episode courtesy of Sam's grandmother (cuz we know that witch just won't leave things be!). But until then, I shall enjoy every moment of sweetness we get!!!

in honor of deep cover tomorrow here are my milgram survivability rankings going into round 3:
haruka: 0/10. sorry buddy. if anyone is dying (which they almost certainly are) it's gonna be our favourite blue boy. i trust him to carry out his threat, and i think anyone who has any possibility of stopping him is too busy with their own nonsense. who's going to stop him?? mu?? rip.
yuno 10/10. yuno is probably the only person who has gone through milgram and (as of now) come out fine. she needs therapy as much as anyone else for her intimacy issues but those issues are making her pursue unhealthy venues of affection instead of, say, tearing away her very basis for living and denying her personhood. also her third verdict is almost certainly going to be innocent. i'd be really surprised if anything happens to her.
muu: 3/10. i'm really unsure about how muu's going to be doing. my first instinct was that she's going to survive no matter what comes her way because she's the queen!! she can deal with anything!! but then i gave the subtext of afterpain some more thought and... she was most likely actively suicidal as a result of that situation, which is behaviour she might return to if she falls back into that headspace. i'm just not sure how badly she's going to take her verdict, especially with her only support system (haruka) out of the picture. worst case scenario, she dies. even if she survives, she won't be doing well.
mahiru: 8/10 mahiru is also pretty hard to judge, because i don't know how she's going to take her verdict. or, being more precise, how far she's going to take it, because i'm pretty sure she's going to take the innocent as confirmation that she was right all along and Love Wins and her worldview is healthy and correct, actually. obviously not a healthy mindset, but arguably not one that's detrimental to her immediate survival, at least. her status should also be pretty tied to shidou's considering the severity of her injuries, so her rating goes down to a 2/10 if he's taken out.
kazui: 10/10 i'm going to continue the trend of comparing kazui with yuno in that both of them have made it through milgram largely unscathed and will continue to do so. unlike her, he will probably be involved in any physical altercations in the prison, but i really doubt any of the other prisoners will be capable of harming him in any way that matters. (physically at least. i hope yuno keeps owning him every chance she gets). tangentially, i also think it's possible to read romantic connotations onto his interactions with shidou?? i would be interested to see if that persists, and how it plays out. this section just turned into the kazui gossip corner orz. sorry.
mikoto/john: 10/10 and 0/10 (but not necessarily in that order). please excuse my inexpertise with this terminology. so the system's body is definitely making it out of this intact. john is seeing to that, and mikoto's isolation is kind of a blessing in disguise because the other prisoners are going to leave him alone and out of any interpersonal conflict. however, according to the rules milgram has imposed (the project, not the prison) either mikoto or john will be 'dying'. i think the third verdict will determine that; innocent and mikoto lives, guilty and john lives. of course, whoever makes it is going to be intensely affected and traumatized by milgram; those interrogation questions are looking rough. i miss shidou's little drawings.
THE BATTLE ROYALE SECTION
so the defining conflict in milgram round 2 was definitely kotoko vs. the guilty prisoners. going off of the interrogations and timelines thus far, i think round 3's central conflict will be prisoners vs. es, and by extension milgram itself.
amane: 10/10. i think amane is going to be the figure a lot of this conflict centers around. she's stated direct opposition to es and milgram, knows the truth about us, and has threatened one of her fellow prisoners. add in the innocent verdict and i definitely think that she is not going to spend the time between trials idly. despite her position as an agitator, i don't think she's going to face any real danger for now. shidou and kazui, her only active opponents, are both against child murder (a high bar in milgram) and i don't think they want to see her hurt. also purge march just reached 4.3M views so she's fine on a meta level lol.
fuuta: 7/10. ah fuuta. what an absolute wet cat of a man. fuuta is almost definitely in the amane camp (cult?) going from the timelines, and i think he will take action with her. any danger posed to himself, will be, then, all his own stupid fault. however, i don't think his addition to her faction adds any substantial danger to their opposition apart from a numbers advantage? fuuta is a half-blind gamer who will be actively neglecting proper medical care for his multiple fractures. i do think he's in more danger than amane purely because i don't think kazui and shidou will have as many reservations about harming him in the course of proper self-defense.
shidou: 6/10. i would like to say shidou will be fine, but i think that's a fast judgement to make regarding how little we know of the situation in milgram. he is the only prisoner who has had a direct threat against his life made. also, while he has gained new (and incredibly unhealthy) purpose for living by helping the injured, he does have a massive guilt complex about the death of his children. part of him might still see being killed by a child as proper atonement. obviously, he could take amane one-on-one. he could probably even deal with amane and fuuta at once. with kazui backing him, he's coming out of any straight-forward assault okay. but i just don't know how amane is going to approach this. can she set traps? can she poison him? can she catch him alone? on a meta level, would it be more engaging to have amane commit another murder and the prisoners lose their doctor? i'm bumping him down just because of these possibilities.
kotoko: 10/10. kotoko will be fine. she has no intent of harming herself, and i don't think kazui or john are going to want to pick a fight. i will say that i think a guilty verdict (which she will almost certainly be receiving) is the best thing for her to keep the peace at this stage. we are now going to enter the wild speculation zone.
i think kotoko has a strong chance of joining amane's faction- not out of religious zealotry, but out of opposition to milgram's judgements. she very much wants to tear the system down and then reshape it in her image, and i think that her desire aligns with amane there, as amane herself stated in her round one voice drama. that's why i think the guilty verdict is ideal - if kotoko is found innocent, she could join in on the attack against shidou. with her distracting kazui, fuuta and amane could have a chance of taking shidou down. this shouldn't happen if kotoko is restrained, so his survivability is much higher as of now. (otherwise i'd give him a 3/10). es had better watch out though.

I wouldn't say these are my ultimate favourite lines of dialogue but some that come to mind when trying to answer the question… but I still had to choose just one quote/snippet among them 😭
1. Lawrence Gonzalez, from Journey Into Night [ Westworld ]
"Hey!" He shouted at Lawrence, engaging in awkward conversation. "Where-uh... are you heading? We... we've got a few questions for you, you mind answering 'em?"
The whole thing would have looked a lot more compelling if he'd lowered his gun, and the ever-present threat of the canon urged Lawrence to keep silent and his own Colt trained on him.
"Is there somebody else with you, here ?"
"Listen, my friend," Lawrence drawled. "I'm all about meetin' new folks around, chattin' at gunpoint an' all but, ain't a good time right now..."
He took a few careful steps back towards his horse, still not lowering his Colt.
… Just one for Lawrence!?! Rude!!
2. Armistice, from Journey Into Night [ Westworld ]
Armistice turned away from her and wandered into the room's central space, looking around as if searching for the speakers set high into the concrete walls. Vivian watched her shoulders relax, her step lighten, and what she had at first thought to be the haze of surprise were nothing more than shuffling dance steps. The music matched the shift in Armistice's behaviour.
"It's... it's as if I can see the notes floating in the air!" She reached out in front of her with shy, trembling fingers. "All around..."
Even her speech was lighter, softer. Vivian was far from imagining she'd trigger such a strong response from her, but she took a slow breath, touched as much as relieved.
3. Maeve Millay, from Journey Into Night [ Westworld ]
Maeve's facial expression twitched slightly in frustration.
"I don't recall having seen you here. Not these days, not ever for that matter."
"You weren't part of my batch," Vivian answered flatly. "And yes, I was in the park."
"Enjoying some killing and fucking, I presume? One has to blow some steam, isn't it. Until everything blows in your face."
Vivian hardly unclenched her teeth to word out:
"You presume wrong, then."
Maeve scoffed, openly disdainful.
"Maeve..." Bernard stepped in, quieting what he might have guessed to be a brewing conflict. "Vivian was in the park because Ford intended for her to die at the gala with everyone else..."
"Is that supposed to make me feel sympathetic?"

"Free!" shouted the one standing in front of the map — Peter — as Lawrence, Bernard and Armistice approached. "Free, she is!" He glared at Armistice. "We have scortch'd the snake, not kill'd it! She'll close and be herself, whilst our poor malice remains in danger of her former tooth."
Lawrence was puzzled; Ivy had told him a little about the man and his state, but it was still worrying. Armistice, as for her, made no reply to this tirade.
"Pray she keeps quiet…"
"Any news from Shard?"
Bernard's question eased him back to a more neutral look.
"No, not yet."

She let out another sigh, calmer, but it got cut short by a gasp of surprise when a clatter of items dropped on the table in front of her and made her bring her arms back to her chest in a defensive gesture. Delos was standing right there and had just covered the table — and the maze — with a bunch of medical supplies. Medical supplies she recognized very well.
"You went through my saddlebags?!"
"Yeah," Delos retorted with an uncomfortable groan as he sat down. "Sue me…"
6. Hector Escaton, from Journey Into Night [ Westworld ]
Hector stepped into the changing room, two of the samurais holding the doors open for him. His eyebrows raised at Vivian's gun barrel pointed at him.
"You don’t know how this place works yet, do you, my friend?"
And, ignoring Vivian and the threat of her revolver, he faced Lawrence.
"Those are empty" he stated, as cynical as he was playful.
Vivian cocked the hammer. "Mine isn’t…"
"And what will you do, shoot me? And after that?"
The remark ruffled her feathers a little; not because of the teasing tone, but rather because she had indeed no idea what she was going to do. She'd only been caught off guard while she was finally easing up a bit and, these days, Vivian didn't like surprises.
"Hector, please…"
"Don’t waste your breathe on me, I’m only a messenger! So, if you aren’t planning on emptying your barrel on me just yet, I’ve been sent to ask you to follow me. Without a fight, if you can do that."
7. young Din Djarin, from Part 2, The Foundlings [ The Mandalorian ]
The young boy was sleeping, or seemed to be, when Din got close enough to see him clearly, his eyes well adjusted to the darkness of the room. He sat on the cold floor, shivering to feel the heat of his bed escape him but he tried to ignore it when Grinn whimpered again.
Din pulled the thick blankets on the boy’s back and gently squeezed his shoulder. Grinn didn’t wake up at his touch, nor moved, stifling another sob. Din struggled against the pain that was tightening his throat, swallowing hard.
“Sshh…”
The sound coming from his own mouth felt strange, unknown, new.
“It-it’s alright,” he heard himself breathe quietly. “You’re safe now.”

None of yours, Din would have loved to retort. But he kept his mouth shut. So much in fact, that he didn’t even answer, and an awkward silence lingered long enough for the agent to raise her eyes and stare at them.
... but he doesn't exactly speak, you see? 🤣 So, does it still count?!
8. Greef Karga, from chapter 2 - The Remnant, Lost and Found [ The Mandalorian ]
“One more thing before I let you go…"
Din readied himself to receive another load of unpleasant news. But Karga only took something from one of the desk cabinets, something he gave him over the tabletop and that Din recognized with a touch of relief — his missing thigh plate.
"This is yours, I believe?"
He first stared at Karga before reaching for his piece of armor.
"You know, we have laws against littering in this city, now."
He scoffed before adding:
"But I’ll let it pass this time.”

"None taken." Elara pursed her lips to hold back a smile; to be honest, she was more or less sharing Peli’s opinion on the matter.

Love, life and career - Cillian Murphy
For this reading I decided to do a special tarot spread. 2 cards for the lovelife, 2 cards for his current life and 2 cards for his career. And at last 1 card for summary. For this I will be using my usual tarot deck.
Love life:
7 of cups reversed and queen of wands: the carefree face of his relationship is history, and he is now starting to think about where his relationship is going, and what he wants from it. He might be feeling trapped lately, avoiding certain issues in the relationship. The clarity is much needed to take stock of things that might be disrupting his marriage lately. After a hard time, when issues are taken care of, things will get better though. The Queen of Wands' strong feminine energy signifies that his relationship will undergo a period of intense passion and romance. He and his wife will feel more loved by each other than at any time before.
Current life in general:
5 of swords and 10 of wands reversed: The Five of Swords is generally not a good omen because it might signify failure, change, surrender, and walking away. From the Suit of Swords, this tarot card shows self-sabotage, shady behaviour, deception, and poor communication. Intense conflict, tension, and a lack of communication can also be represented by it. This might be assosicated to his love life and the issues he has been dealing with or will be dealing with.
5 of swords indicates that he is engaging in a conflict of some nature. It can also suggest a disagreement with others, which leads to hostility and tension. Despite the fact that he thinks he has won, he might still lose in the big picture, because he has annoyed or hurt those that he has argued with, and as a result, he is on the road to isolating himself. Perhaps, at the moment, he believed that it was more important to be right rather than appreciate and understand where the other side was coming from.
Right now, it's important to attempt to pick up the pieces. He still has the chance to act while the conflict is still fresh. He may feel as if everyone and everything is against him. In career prospects, the Magician reversed indicates that he has a lot of opportunities around him. However, he is missing something that could make his career trajectory go down drastically. However, using his true potential would be the best he can do. In case he feels like the way is lost, this Major Arcana reversed card indicates that he must keep things close and tight to have desired results in the long run.
The Magician reversed indicates that he is devoid of energy and lack confidence. Thus, he must keep his head straight and give a closer perspective on his professional life. Business people must stay aware of the people around them. They may backstab him in business partnerships, leading to heavy downfall. In fact, at his workplace, he shall act dishonest and possess hidden agendas. Therefore, it warns him to trust his true self and not share much of his life with people around him.
Page of wands reversed suggest that his energy and drive may be lacking, leaving him unmotivated and stuck. This is the time to take a step back, pause and reassess his goals and values, and determine what truly inspires him.
Summary:

I think for a monarchy to collapse, it needs more factors than just inviting Harry to the Coronation. If it will happen but I suspect it won’t happen in our lifetimes, but its still possible in the future there will be no constitutional monarch. I see the accusation that Charles has no backbone parallel the relationship the monarch has with the black sheep so to speak. The Queen took away many roles for Andrew but she could never completely cut the cord. Charles can do the same for Harry and has but the cord is not cut either. I know more parents in my life that cannot completely exile their kids than those that did. Not trying to defend the Queen or Charles here but it will always be up to the next generation to take the reigns and do the dirty work of exiling problematic family members.

I'm not sure where this came from, as no one here thinks that the monarchy is on the verge of collapse. However, to reply to your comments: I do think that it is hard for parents to cut off a son or daughter. Unfortunately, when they keep the tie, they also usually submit their other children to all the stress and bad behaviour caused by the problem child, and that is not fair to the other children. It is a difficult situation all around.
Andrew is a different situation as he was never proven guilty of his alleged sex crimes, even though the media thought he was and wrote their pieces that way, and lately more evidence has come to light that throws doubt on his guilt. His dodgy financial dealings are more what he could be censored for, but those seem to run in the family (looking at you, King Charles).
Harry, on the other hand, has given us evidence to prove that he is working against the monarchy, however much he tries to walk back his statements. I think the lack of reaction from the palace is working, as otherwise Harry wouldn't be so upset about it and talking about 'reconciliation summits', but I don't know how it will work in the future. Is this going to be where we are in 10 or 20 years time? Harry still running around using his Prince title for privileges and bad mouthing his family to make money? There comes a time when it has to stop, and I hope King Charles is able to make the appropriate decisions when that time comes.
