“Are you kidding me? Right now?” You stare up – way up – at Dean from the floor, where you sit surrounded by the contents of the pantry. You finally had a couple of days to clean and organize, and you’re in the middle of several projects at the moment. Perfect timing.
“Yes. Now. It’s not gonna take long, and you just keep stalling every time I ask, so – let’s go.” You roll your eyes, shaking your head at the mess that would be waiting for you when you got back. You take his hand and let him help you to your feet, looking up at him like a petulant child. He gives you one of those smiles you can never resist, bends to kiss you gently, and you follow him with a reluctant sigh.
“You know, I’ve been driving since I was 16 years old, Dean,” you grumble, shuffling along behind him on the way to the garage.
“I know. But you’ve never driven a big old beast like Baby. And I just want to make sure you can handle her if you have to.”
“Like you’d ever let me drive, anyway,” you mumble under your breath, and he stops dead in front of you, making you run into his back.
He turns to face you with a serious expression, but there’s a sparkle in his eyes. “I heard that. And you’re right – usually. But what if something happens? Sam and I get hurt, or we need you to go for help? I just want you to be prepared.”
“I know,” you say begrudgingly, and follow him as he starts down the stairs to the garage.
He tosses you the keys and climbs into the passenger side, watching as you slide behind the wheel. You sit there for a moment, looking things over, realizing that there’s a problem. God, you don’t want to say it. He’s gonna laugh, he’s never never going to let you live it down…
“What’s wrong? Just start her up.”
You refuse to look at him, your voice barely audible. “I can’t reach the pedals.”
“What?”
“I said, I can’t reach the pedals!” This time you almost shout it at him, then turn to look, just daring him to laugh. He’s biting his lips together, his face twitching as he fights the urge, and if there was anything within reach for you to grab, you would have thrown it at him. “I knew this would happen. You are gonna make fun of me through this whole thing, I knew it.”
He really is struggling to control it, a few little snorting sounds escaping before he clamps down on it and turns to look at you. “I’m sorry, baby – I don’t mean to laugh, you – you’re just so damn cute.”
You both bend to reach for the levers to move the seat, and you mutter vindictively, “I hope your knees go up your nose.” He can’t help himself now, he’s laughing as he helps you get things set to where they’re comfortable for you. Then he leans close to show you where things are – the blinkers, the lights, the wipers – before kissing you cautiously and moving out of your space to settle back into his seat.
“Okay, sweetheart, she’s all yours.”
You start her up, and you can’t stifle the little smile at the sound of her engine. “Okay, girl – you be good to me, and I’ll be good to you.” You take her out of the garage just fine, heading for the gravel road that leads to the highway.
She actually handles like a dream, like she knows where she’s supposed to go and you’re just sort of guiding her a little. You make the turn onto the highway without a hitch, and check the mirror to see if there’s anyone around. There’s not. So you punch it.
Dean’s grinning as you turn Baby loose, the engine growling, the tires singing against the asphalt. Yeah, you can see why he loves this so much. You can feel the power thrumming through her, your hands on the wheel vibrating slightly, and you smile over at Dean.
“See, she likes you.” You go on for a few miles, reluctantly admitting to yourself that this was a good idea, and you were actually enjoying yourself. After letting you settle in, Dean speaks up again. “Okay, turn off somewhere, I just want you to get the feel of the brakes.”
“Yes, Grandpa,” you tease, and he just grins. Hard to tell who’s having more fun, him or you. You spot a country road up ahead, and start slowing down. The brakes don’t slow her down as fast as they do on your car, and you realize that you’ll be taking the next turn because with the speed you built up, you’ll never make this one. Dean laughs softly, and you stick out your tongue.
“See what I mean? She’s got a lot of weight behind her, and she doesn’t stop on a dime like those little cars.”
“Yeah, I get that,” you chuckle, making the next turn without a hitch. “So, where to now?”
He squints his eyes a little in thought, then points ahead. “Couple of miles this way, pull over into the orchard when we get up there.”
You nod, then glance over at him. “You – you’re not gonna make me drive around trees, like an obstacle course or something, are you? Because no.”
He throws back his head with a full-on laugh. “No. I promise. No obstacle course.”
You throw out a quote from The Wedding Singer - ‘They were cones!’ - and you both laugh all the way to the orchard. You start slowing way sooner than you need to, probably, but you make the turn and pull in amongst the trees, putting her in park and shutting off the engine.
“So, is this the part where I tell you I ran out of gas?” You wiggle your eyebrows at him and let your eyes roam over him in an exaggerated leer, and he shakes his head with a grin.
“We’ll work on your lines some other time,” he teases, then opens his door and steps out into the pleasant shade of the trees. You follow his lead, coming over to wrap your arms around his waist and standing on tiptoe to kiss him softly.
“Sorry I was such a pain in the ass about this. Thank you, it was fun.”
“Yeah. It was.” He kisses you back, taking his time, and you’re in a happy daze when he pulls back, brushing your hair away from your face. “Hey, they have some bing cherry trees in here somewhere. Let’s go steal some.” He takes your hand, and you set off on your quest.
When you finally head back to the car, you’ve both eaten more than a few cherries, and Dean’s overshirt is wrapped around a load to take home. He grabs the keys and opens the trunk, setting them carefully inside, and turning to you as he closes it. “Hey, one more thing I wanted to show you. Hop in the back.”
“The back? I’ve been back there a million times. What...” You see the gleam in his eyes, and stop arguing immediately. “Oh. Well, then.” You climb in and slide over, patting the seat. “Please, Dean, show me the secrets of the backseat. That I need to know, you know, in case of an emergency.”
He slides in beside you, a seductive smile curving his lips. “Well, there are emergencies – and then there are emergencies.” He looks around, mischief in his eyes. “Wow, there’s a lot more room back here when you drive.”
“Shut up!” you laugh with a half-hearted punch at his shoulder, and then you climb onto his lap, knees spread wide so you can snug up close against the rapidly rising bulge behind his zipper, and it punches a little groan from deep inside him.
“C’mere,” he growls, one hand on your hip and the other cradling your face as he kisses you, warm and hungry. You let your hands drift up his biceps and shoulders, then behind his neck to hold him close, your fingers dancing through the soft hair at the back of his neck. His erection is hard and insistent, nestled in the apex of your thighs, and you grind against him with a moan. “You think that feels good, just wait,” he rumbles next to your ear, nipping and kissing his way down your neck, stopping to mark you as he reaches the slope of your shoulder.
You tilt your head, your skin flushing hot as his hands begin to roam your body, pulling impatiently at your shirt until you lift your arms and allow him to remove it. One hand is kneading at your ass, pressing you harder against him, the other is squeezing at your breast as his lips devour yours again. You let go of him long enough to reach back and undo the clasp on your bra, pulling it off and dropping it to the floor, and he growls softly as he leans you back enough to wrap his lips around your nipple. You brace yourself on Baby’s roof as he sucks and tugs and nips, leaving you gasping and desperate. Your body has settled into a rhythm, thrusting and grinding your core up and down on his rigid cock, and he stops for a moment, just watching you.
“Get it, baby. Take what you need, get all hot and wet for me,” he urges, his eyes glowing with heat as you look at him.
“Dean…” you whimper, and he puts both hands on your hips, aiding the friction a little more.
“Come on, baby, give it to me.” He leans close, his lips next to your ear. “Come for me, sweetheart, I wanna fuck you so bad right now...”
His words push you over the edge, and you let out a desperate cry, your back arching as your orgasm takes you. Dean wraps his arms around you to hold your trembling body close, whispering praises into your ear.
Once you’ve caught your breath, Dean captures your lips with his, ravenous kisses that have you aching for him. You reach down between you and work at the button of his jeans, then his zipper, and he sighs into your kiss at the release of pressure. “I want you inside me, Dean, please,” you beg, undoing your own jeans and sliding back from his lap to awkwardly work them and your soaked panties down until you can kick one foot free. He never moves his eyes from you as he lifts up from the seat, shoving his jeans and boxers down as far as he can manage, then ripping his t-shirt over his head and dropping it to the seat beside him.
“Climb on, baby, let’s go for a ride,” he says, his voice rasping and wrecked, and he helps guide you over him, his eyes fluttering closed, a soft ‘fuck’ slipping from his lips as you sink down on him slowly.
He is rock hard, hot and throbbing as you take him in, your desires warring with each other as you want to make the erotic sensation last, but you also long to just drop down and take him in to the limit, all at once, have every inch inside of you. You are whimpering as you finally settle fully against him, your thighs quaking. He swears under his breath, his head thrown back against the seat, every muscle taut with the effort of holding back, waiting for you to signal that you’re ready.
You finally shift a little, and he lets out a moan that sends a wave of goosebumps over your skin. He begins to move, pushing and grinding, and you fall into the cadence with him, balanced precariously on the edge. Your breathing is ragged, your arms beginning to ache as you keep your hands on Baby’s roof, pushing you down, keeping him buried deep inside you, so deep it almost hurts. He whispers your name, filthy words of praise, and muttered swearing in a constant stream, his lips next to your ear, his voice a low rumble that you can feel vibrating in your chest.
Finally he pulls you close, gripping you tight with a growl. “I’m gonna come, baby, you gotta let go for me,” he says almost desperately, and his hips begin bucking up hard, making you cry out as he drives himself into you, your nails digging into his biceps.
He fucks into you twice, three times, and you lose your mind, his arms the only thing keeping your body in place. You’re shouting his name, then sobbing your release as he pounds you mercilessly, unable to hold himself back any longer. You feel him swelling, pulsing inside you, and you ride the waves of pleasure to yet another peak, dizzy and quaking.
“Dean,” you whimper, collapsing weakly against his chest, his arms holding you tight as his body jerks him upward a few more times, aftershocks that leave him spent as well. His hands stroke your back as he whispers to you, his touch tender and soothing.
You could lie against him forever, his hands caressing your skin, his fingers combing through your hair.  When you finally move to look at him, he just gazes into your eyes, then leans in to kiss you, soft and slow. “So much for the back seat lesson, huh?” he teases, and you smile sleepily in response.
“Did I pass?”
“With flying colors, sweetheart.” He kisses you again, and you snuggle against him, unwilling to move. “So, want me to drive home?”
“Yeah. In a minute.” You nestle your head on his shoulder and let your eyes drift shut. He grabs his t-shirt from the seat beside you and drapes it over your back.
“Ok, baby. In a minute.”

Obey me boy head cannons!
Skater!Mc x the demon boys + undateables!
Alright so background! Human mc had invited one of the boys to go to a skating rink with her in the human world, since she is one of the main racers and a very frequent attendee at the place since she was 10. She knows the regular skaters and owners pretty well. Shes held with high respect there and is pretty talented. She has skate races and a whole team of great skaters, so what happens when one day she invites one of the boys to go on a date/ support her during a competitive roller derby? Also please do keep in mind I'm taking inspiration off the monster high roller derby cause that race was pretty cool and difficult to do so make it more modernized and human. You know... no swinging axes or kraken's trying to grab you as you skate. Though in reality that sounds like something Diavolo would put together for devildom roller derby's...
Lucifer
When he heard you beg him to come support you for your first race back in the human world he was a little taken aback. A roller derby? Him? I mean he wasn't going to be the loudest but he did find the thought of watching them succeed and wanting his praise amusing nonetheless....
....in reality he missed the Mc dearly and would appreciate the time with them, but he'd never say so out loud.
When you looked up to him from the stands he smirked at you, the pressure was on... that smirk was the one of judgement and "let's see how you do" which wracked your nerves with enough anxiety that it helped fuel the fire to make sure you succeeded.
When the Mc took off, being shoved by people bigger than her on each side, he was surprised when you fell back and the two idiots collided and she hopped over with ease and sped towards the front with amazing speed.
When The Mc and their team won, she came speeding to him and hugged him from behind and thanked him.
Later he took you out to eat in congratulations, the smile on your face from getting praise and food? All the stress from the day was relieved by that small gesture.
"I dont know why I thought I had finally found out everything I could about you, yet you just keep surprising me...."
Mammon
When the you asked for his support during a casual race at your local skating rink, with just your team mates going against eachother in a regular speed skate with a few obstacles, he wasnt so interested, saying he wants money in return for his support, when in reality he would have went anyways. But when you told him that since it was a casual race, people could bet on the racers, he agreed so fast and even begged to be summoned right then and there.
Expect him to be screaming at the top of his lungs for you to win
Isnt against calling you baby this loud in public
May or may not have tried climbing the fence when you got pushed
Definitely bet on you, and a huge sum of money too. So much faith 😭❤
Once you've won expect him to come flying at you, poor baby forgot you where on skates tho so you'd end up falling backwards to your friends amusement of your cuddly demon.
Tried threatening the owners to do another race so he could get money and failed
Sulked till you dragged him by the hand to skate in the neon lights since most people left it was just you two
Later he would drag you to either go to bet on races with him to gain more money or go to shower you in gifts, really depended on how well you could convince him to not go gambling, which had a 50/50 success rate.
"If I'm not going to get more money I might as well shower you in what I have, make you the prettiest gem for the whole world to see!" "Mammon you only won 200 dollars not a mil-" "sh, sh, shhhhh, shhh, no arguing! The Great Mammon is going to treat his treasure right tonight, ya' hear!?"
Leviathan
Now getting this otaku outta his room was an absolute struggle. So like a cat trapping their preh, you had to summon him to your house and put a blindfold on him for a special surprise.
Dragged his unsocial ass to the car and road down to the skate rink and took off his blind fold once you both got inside.
It took a lot of coaxing, but you finally got him to calm down enough to get a pair of skates.
If your skater friends said hi to him he'd hide by your arm like a scared 5 year old
The jealousy he felt of everyone in the room was unbelievable, because the poor boy has no balance for skating. On wheels or ice, his body just refuses.
You offered to help him learn and the poor boys face was fuming red, thankfully the neon lights and darkness hid it well.
He held onto your hand for balance throughout the whole date, only stopping to eat some pizza and play some arcade games.
After a few hours you headed back to your house to binge some Starwars, wanting to watch something different with him.....which eventually led to the both of you getting bored and going back to the new ruri-chan movie you guys binged countless amount of times on the phone together.
"H-hey! Hold on you're going t-too fast! No now you're so close I-....um... ack everyone can see us...so many people... but its worth it to show that your mine!"
Satan
Now Satan isnt much of a skater, nor a loud supporter, but with enough coaxing you finally got him to at least try and relax with you, doing a nice small couple's night at the skate rink
Really wanted to try human customs with you so there was little resistance
He would hold their hand as you'd skate
Even think of skating away from him and he will chase after you
This man's rage in his bones makes him a natural speed skater
Will tickle you when he catches you, starts a very one sided tickle war tho
If you wanna sit down, it's going to be in his lap, no rejections.
Will find it adorable if your friends make fun of how blushy you're getting as you hide in his chest
"Come now kitten, dont run away or I'm going to tickle you so hard that your face will hurt too much to smile at anyone else but me"
Asmodeus
This sweet baby was already dragging you to your room to glamor you up before the race.
Honey no need to say anything, he will make you the most gorgeous skater just tell him the vibes you wanna give off and he will hit the nail straight on the head and match your aesthetic.
Best expect victory photos.
Will record your victory and show it off to the group chat with the brothers.
Absolutely head over heels for you, hanging off your body in a hug and then going for a really close skate together
Might try to convince you to have some celebratory seggs but will 100% be making it known how much you excited him.
"Sweetheart look at all the likes our photos are getting! Everyone's congratulating you! Awe look at how viral my baby is! That was a VERY thrilling experience watching you, and you do need to take care of that body....shall we take this home and undress you so I can congratulate you the right way~♡?"
Beezlebub
Immediately agreed when you brought it up that you wanted to bring him to the skate rink, someplace you enjoyed going.
He knew skating was like a work out but was worried about finding skates his size there so he brought his own customized skates.
You better have snacks cause baby is gonna be starving.
Thankfully since you also work there and know the owners, you where allowed to hop over and take his order, putting it on your tab. 4 pizzas 2 Turkey legs 7 hotdogs and a pint of water (remember to stay hydrated)
If you bumped into a few of your friends and he WILL get along with them. He wants to be apart of your life, all of it, so he'll make it a point to get along with everyone in it for your sake.
If you ever look like you're going to fall he will be so close behind you it would be like slipping and falling back onto a brick wall who grabs you before you hit the floor.
If you fall forward he will grab your shirt but try not to choke you in the process
(If you do choke poor baby with be hugging you apologizing profusely)
You two try racing eachother but no matter what you dont win cause hes just too fast
Finds you challenging him over and over endearing and adorable.
"You're so adorable when you're chasing after me trying to win, but I'm hungry now...can we go eat again?"
Belphegor
Will complain once you ask him to go skating for date night in the human world
Wont stop till he finds out it has a sunroof along with the neon lights so he can look at the stars while skating with you.
Will only skate for an hour or two then passes out on your lap
Will not help at all when you fall, just laughs cause he is probably the reason you fell in the first place.
When hes skating he will take your hand in his the whole time and sorta lean on your shoulder while skating from behind you.
You two will stop periodically to sit at the small felt covered benches in the rink to look up at the stars (may or may not fall asleep on your shoulder so you're stuck there with him sleeping for 20 minutes)
You will be the last ones out
Must grab some food for Beel cause belphie promised to bring him home food.
Skating (more like you dragging him by the hand while hes in skates)back to your place and looking at the stars together at like 3am
Wont go back till he can officially cuddle you till the morning and leaves at 11am
"Hey look...theres Ursa major...*yawn* come on let's sit down again, I'm tired..."
Luke (only as siblings you take him skating)
Doesnt know how to skate
You end up teaching him and hes the happiest little boy ever.
If you take him to a race he'll be all worried that you got a scratch and starts to get protective over you when the person who pushed you comes near
Definitely eating cotton candy
Playing claw machines and you win him a stuffed piggy and he holds it near and dear to his heart cause it's from you
"Mc! Mc! Look I'm doing it! I'm skating! Sir oinkers and me are skating together! Thank you so much haha!"
Simeon
Happily joins to cheer you on during your races everytime. Got a race? Simeon will be there.
If you dont win he will comfort you and make the best of the situation by taking you to the food bar till it turns to a free skate again.
If you're injured he will pamper you and be ready with his first aid. Little angel kisses on every scrap and bruise.
So many forehead kisses of encouragement and praise 🥺😭
Can speed skate, so if you want to practice he'll help but if you want to relax he'll do that too.
Inlines? Regular skates? No matter what hes great at them.
Somehow he has great luck and every stuffie you showed interest in or every candy or prize there was that you would even look at, he would win on the first try.
"Dont worry! I'll carry it all. You just relax alright? You got pretty bruised from that fall."
Barbatos
Getting this man to stop working and go on a date will need a ton of patience, even Lord Diavolo has to convince him the little d's will do their jobs right while hes away.
Will take care of every scrape and bruise you get.
Man has glowsticks prepared to cheer you on
When it turns back to a free skate he will try his best to impress you and teach you little tricks he's picked up in his many years.
You try to convince him to eat some of the food there and he will politely decline and proceed to take you out to a nice fancy, but quaint restaurant.
"You were really quick to dodge them back there, yet you still got a few bruises, truly amazing for humans to get to that speed and dodge so fast. You're really a fascinating one arent you?"
Lord Diavolo
This man.... he made SIGNS
WILL be hollering when you win
The loudest in the stands
Glowsticks, glowing necklaces, bracelets, man is even wearing a glowing necklace around his head for you, glowing head to toe
So happy and proud 🥺😭❤
Definitely brought barbatos to help hold up the glittery signs him and the little d's made
Barbatos will leave with the signs after congratulating you and leaving you two to your date.
He will be a little off balanced when first skating cause the man went straight for the inlines 😂
Will be smiling the whole time, nothing can or will ruin it.
Absolutely in love with the skate rink because of you and even wants to add a few to the devildom so they can hold tournaments like the one you where in
Can get sad if he cant get you a stuffed animal while you're in the bathroom so he summons Barbatos again to help him while you're away.
Sends Barbatos away so you wont know he helped him get the prizes
Ends up getting you 6 stuffies and a phone case that doesnt fit your phone but it's the thought that counts right?
You win him a medium sized dragon from the claw machine and he sleeps with it every night and loves it like it's your guy's kid.
If he meets your friends he will find out just how much you've missed him as you get embarrassed, makes a mental note to see you once a week after that encounter.
Will eat 2 Turkey legs as you eat a slice of pizza and share a pitcher of soda with him
(He makes a mess of his face so you clean it off for him)
Will not want to leave and go back to the devildom so he'll insist on staying the rest of the night and walks you home
Will. NOT. LEAVEEEE! Master of excuses for why he should stay.
"But I dont want to leave! Theres still so much to do!" "Can I at least see your house?" "I wont leave until I see you're safe at home!" "Please can I stay the night, I miss having you wake up in my arms." "I want to see the morning sun rise with you before I go back"

She was supposed to be mine Pt.5
Title: She was supposed to be mine
Chapter- 5 Deception
Pairing San x Reader X Yeosang
Word Count: 2k
San pulls away from the kiss and looks into your eyes, searching for any hint of emotion, no, any hint of love. He wanted so badly to believe that you loved him, and only him. Unfortunately for him. he knew exactly what you did, but it's not your fault. Yeosang had probably brainwashed you, after all, there was no way you would really chose Yeosang over him. What did he have that San didn't? "Come outside after you're dressed. Don't be long" he smirked, smacking your ass as he left the room. He has to play this safe, if you knew that he knew,
You would probably think he was a stalker. He couldn't let you think ill of him.
Heading towards the closet you decide between a couple of your outsfits, ventually choosing one of the more classier options. You let your long hair out of their braids, letting the hair fall into wavy curls. You finish applying your makeup and head for the door. You jump as you notice San outside of your door."Hey! I'm sorry did I keep you waiting long?"
San greeted you with his warm smile as he grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers with his. "Not at all! Lets go" San smiled like a kid in a damn candy store all the way to the restaurant. You kept looking over at him as he drove. You hadn't seen him this happy since you agreed to move in. "Before we go in, I just wanted to tell you something"
"What is it San?" you leaned over in curiosity, noticing his knuckles turning white from the grip on the steering wheel. "San...", he didn't answer you right away, something feels off, but you didn't want to say anything. Afraid that one wrong slip of the tongue could expose the whole truth. The car ride became silent like the last time, but this time it almost feels more....suffocating,
Arriving at the restaurant San rushes towards your side so he could open the door for you. "Thank you,'' was all you could say to him, not really knowing what to say. You could either address the problem at hand, or wait long enough and hope it goes away to him as his silence eating away at you.
Entering the restaurant the waiter led them to a table in the center, surrounded by the beautiful scenery. "Wow San, this place is amazing," His face lit up at your approval, causing him to forget the question he's been meaning to ask. The waiter arrived with two menus and left, allowing you two time to decide.
Looking at the menu you saw how pricey everything was not knowing what to get you decided to find the cheapest thing on the menu"Sannie, don't you think this place is too expensive? Maybe we could just order take out". San smiled, taking your hands into his "I promised to only give you the best, didn't I?" he flashed his perfect closed eyed smile, and went back to his menu.
You smiled sheepishly and went back to your menu, wondering what any of this food was.

Yeosang: Hey where did you go? I miss you <3
San continued faking a smile as he saw the name on your notifications, a message from Yeosang...You picked up your phone and proceeded to text back, oblivious to San's increasing agitation.
You: I'm having breakfast with San, we can hang out later. I miss you too <3
"Y/n put your phone away" San scowled, visibly upset. He cleared his throat, noticing the startled expression you had on your face" Let's just enjoy our dinner" You faked a smile as you put your phone in your purse, hoping he didn't ask to see who it was from.
But he just couldn't get the image out of his head, he couldn't stop thinking about Yeosang kissing you
The waiter arrived to take your orders and San ordered first as you chose one of the cheapest items on the menu, San looked at you questiongly and told the waiter to get the same thing he's getting, you looked at San thinking if he might actually be crazy.. His food literally being the price of her monthly mortgage, the waiter takes your menus and leaves.
Waiting for their food the silence came again, San only stared at you as you looked down at your hands.. Smiling a little, the only real reason you could smile like that is because you were thinking of someone else who isn't him.
"Y/n... where did you really go?" San wasn't even able to look you in the eyes, unwilling to let you see his real feelings threatening to drip down his cheeks.
.
Stunned by his sudden question you smiled at him, "San.. I told you I went to a coffee place." San looked you right in the eyes this time, seeing the shift of lies and nervousness. "Liar..", San whispered under his breath, but loud enough for you to hear.
"San... why would you say that..'' trying to sound astonished your heart is pounding in your chest wondering if San saw you and Yeosang together. No of course he wasn't, everyone was asleep before you left, and San was still in the house when you got there. Right?
San slammed his hands on the table, his fists red from him trying to contain himself. You froze in your seat as San leaned in closer to you, almost as if he was trying to catch you in a lie. A lie you had clearly told.
"Youre lying to be Y/N, do you honestly think I'm that stupid???
"San calm down, what are you talking about?" you still tried to deny the truth, fearing that he would try to fight Yeosang again
"Did you meet up with Yeosang?"
"No Sa-"
"Did you not meet with Yeosang at 6am in the woods?!?!" his words are harsh yet low enough not to get others attention. He squeezed your hand, digging his nails in as you tried to pull away.
"San please let's talk about this at home" you pleaded with him
"Gladly"
He kept hold of your hand, and dragged you to the car, leaving the menus on the empty table. You frantically clutched to your purse, hoping he wouldn't demand to see your phone. You both got into the car hurriedly, putting on your seatbelt, expecting him to speed off. Instead he locked the door and looked directly into your eyes.
"Do you love him?" His eyes began to well up with tears threatening to fall. He squeezed your already bruised hand, almost as if he was pleading with you.
You hesitated for a moment, wondering if it would be best to just confess."N-no, i Love yo-"
You felt a sharp sting on your check, raising your hand to cover where he had slapped "San!" you looked at him in shock as he inched his face closer to yours
"WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO STOP LYING TO ME? YOU LIED TO ME AND EVEN LIED TO SEONGHWA" He gripped the top of your hand with his hand, bringing your face only an inch away from his. You whimpered and closed your eyes, tears already falling.
"I'm sorry, i'll make it up to you"
"I don't want to listen to your bullshit 'explanations' Y/n, you're just going to say anything to try and dig yourself out of this mess"
"Damn right you will" he let go of you and put the car in reverse, backing out of the parking lot and then heading home "San I can explain!"
He ignored you, his eyes only focused on the road,
"Sannie im not lying to you! Please why won't you just believe me!"
"You lied to me three times.. You lied to Seonghwa, then to me before you got ready, and you lied to me again, when all I wanted was to treat you to a nice breakfast." You stare down at your hands quietly as tears were at the moment of falling. Caught in a lie you sit quietly in your seat, twiddling your thumbs as he drives you home. You hear your phone chime.
Yeosang: Let's hang out after everyone falls asleep, sound good? We can watch a movie and cuddle
San proceeded to park the car in the garage turning to see you texting again. He quickly snatched the phone from your hand.
"San give that back!" you scramble to get your phone back as he runs out of the car and into the house, hurrying to his room, and slamming the door behind him/ Ignoring the rest of his confused roommates in the living room. You ran hurriedly after San, fearing that he's already seen the text messages, you burst into his room, out of breath from running, with the combined anxiety.
You took a moment to catch your breath, as San was already reading the texts, there was nothing you could do. You couldn't make him un read them, might as well take a moment to rest."This was a mistake" you breathed out
Sans eyes glared into you as you sat on his bed. "Cheating on me?" desperation seeping through his voice, had you realized your mistakes? His eyes softened in anticipation, as he sat next to you. The slightest hint of you apologizing made his heart fill with hope.
"Kissing you backstage, dating you, and then moving in within a month. Why am I even here??? This has gone way too fast!"
"You don't mean that! You're here because you love me! It's just Yeosang's fault, he brainwashed you!" he pleaded as he took your hand into his. You pull your hand away in disgust as your eyes meet his, His desperate gaze hiding an inferno behind his eyes. This wasn't right, he wasn't right.
You stood up and began to walk towards the door on the other side of the room. "Let's just break up" you mumbled as you went to reach from the door. Just moments away from sweet freedom.
San rushed to your side, blood pumping rapidly through his veins, threatening to burst. He reached your wrist and yeeted you back towards him just as you were inches from the floor. The surprise caused you to practically fling onto the floor. your body began to ache as it collided with the floor. You let out a soft groan as you prepared yourself to raise hell. "San what is wrong with you? Do you even know your own strength???" You looked up at him with short lived rage. His cold hand mercilessly connects with your face, leaving a large red stinging hand print.
You yelped as you held on to your sore cheek, tears already filling the edges of your disbelieving eyes. Before you could utter another word, San quickly took hold of your hair. Intertwining his fingers into it as he brought you closer to him on your knees. You unwillingly waddled towards him as he continued to pull on your hair harder. You let out a disheartened whimper as he slowly released your hair. "It's time you make it up to me, don't you think so Y/n?"
San let out a soft chuckle as he began to unbuckle his pants, his brown eyes fixated on your petite figure, he loved this, he lived for this. The sight of you on your knees in front of him causing him to bite his lip in excitement. The bulge in his pants quickly grew harder and thicker. You gulped as you saw his member begin to leave a larger and larger imprint along his pants. "San let's talk about th-" you let out a small yelp as he his nails into your scalp, tightening his drip on your hair again. He used his free hand to lift your chin to meet his gaze, his smile curved into a devious smirk.
"You said you were going to make it up to me, here's your chance to prove it Y/n"

WAIT FOR YOU — P. PARKER
The clock on your laptop read one-thirty am. Your entire apartment was dark, your family had went to bed hours ago, but you stayed up. Besides the excuse to binge watch The Originals, you were waiting for Peter.
You usually didn’t stay up if you knew he’d be out late, but tonight you didn’t really want to go to sleep without seeing his smile. It had been an annoyingly long day at school and work. Your teachers were being extra demanding, seeing as your junior year was coming to a close and you had college applications to complete (for early admission in the fall). And then your boss at the book store, who was usually laidback, yelled at you for all sorts of things. Guess she was having an off day too.
As much as you loved Klaus Mikaelson, the only that could you truly make you happy right now, was your boyfriend. Thus starting your long night of snacks, hybrids and lots of blankets.
The three short knocks and one long one at your window caused you to let out a small squeal. Pushing aside the magnitude of blankets off your body, you hopped out of bed and tiptoed to your window. You pulled back the curtain and saw him. Spiderman crouched on your fire escape, waiting for you.
You wasted no time and pulled the window open, allowing him to climb in.
“I thought I told you to keep that locked.” Peter sighed, pulling off the mask. Peter’s cheeks and nose were red from the cold, but he didn’t seem fazed. Instead, he wore a dopey smile, one that you knew meant he had really overworked himself tonight.
“You did. Many times,” You replied with a small smirk as you closed the window and curtains. “Save the world tonight, Pete?”
“I helped this old guy find a book store, stopped someone from running over a biker and some other stuff thats not really important.” Peter rushed the last phrase, hoping you wouldn’t question him. You gave him a weary look but didn’t push him, instead you took a few steps towards him, a smile creeping onto your lips.
Peter grinned back, his chocolate curls bouncing on his forehead as he moved closer to you in return. For a few seconds, you both just stood there, gazing into each other’s eyes with lazy grins. You could feel yourself leaning forward, your body yearning to wrap yourself around Peter.
“Did you wait up for me?” Peter stopped, taking in the dark circles and mascara smudges around your Y/E/C eyes. He then noticed the messy bun, his sweatshirt (that was just slightly too big for you but he loved the way you looked in it) and the mound of blankets covering your bed.
You scrunched up your nose in confusion, “Of course.” You finally reached for Peter, wrapping your arms around his torso and placing your head against his chest.
Peter smiled, his chin resting on your head because you happened to be a lot shorter than him. There were times when it didn’t feel real, to be able to hold you in his arms was something he hadn’t gotten used to (he didn’t think he ever would) but still Peter soaked up every second he had with you, afraid it could be the last. Especially since he was a crime fighting spider.
“Peter?” You mumbled against the fabric of his suit. You could hear the beat of his heart, a steady thump against your ear. It was a sound you could listen to on repeat, knowing it was steady, knowing it wasn’t stopping anytime soon kept you calm.
“Mhm?”
“I love you.” It took you a solid ten seconds to realize what you just said. You could hear Peter’s heartbeat speed up to an unhealthy fast speed. It’s not that you didn’t mean it, it’s just that you had never said that before. Every time it crossed your mind, you never questioned it, just didn’t act upon it.
“R-Really?” Peter’s voice was two pitches higher than normal, he pulled out of your arms to look into your eyes.
You gave him a meek nod, unsure of how he felt in return.
Peter’s lips then morphed into a huge grin. His eyes sparked with excitement. It was then that all your worries washed away, he might not have said it back yet, but his smile was all you needed to be ok.
“I understand if it’s to soon for you,” You stumbled through our words, hoping he wouldn’t feel pressured to say anything in return. “I’ll wait for you, Parker.”
Peter only smiled. He clicked the spider on his suit and it fell to the floor. Then he pulled you over to your bed and the both of you snuggled in. You were wrapped up in each others arms as you fell asleep, the long day finally catching up to you.
Peter, still stunned from you declaration just moments ago mentally slapped himself in the face. He should have said it back, the words sat on the tip of his tongue, but the excitement froze him to the floor. All he could do was smile. It didn’t help he’d wanted to be the first to say it, but hearing it from your mouth was the best thing he’d ever heard, so it was quite easy to forgive you.
The sound of your soft breaths let Peter know you had fallen asleep, “I love you too, Y/N.”
The thought of telling you those words when you woke up in the morning was all Peter could think about as he followed you into the abyss of sleep.

Permanence - Part 1/3
Tumblr media
Happy Birthday @kpopfanfictrash !! Here is my gift to you as part of #shadyshannasbirthSLAY week!!!!!! P.S. It's a 2 parter!
Exo Fanfiction
Pairing: Baekhyun x Female Reader
Warnings: Explicit Language
‘WHAT THE FUCK!"
This was the final straw, that asshole had parked in your space for the last time. You positioned your car across the space to block them in, you were done playing nice. You wanted to know who this punk was and give them a piece of your mind.
This had been happening on and off for the last three weeks and you were at breaking point, you'd left notes that have gotten increasingly passive-aggressive which you always found thrown on the ground. You even tried to wait for the owner to return to the vehicle (and fell asleep in your car during the stakeout). You had finally reached your breaking point.
But now you've got them; if you parked in front of the culprit’s vehicle they had two options. One: Come to you to let them out. Or two: wait for you to move your car. Yes, that should work.
You hopped up the stairs to your apartment that evening feeling smug. You helped yourself to an extra large glass of red wine that night as a reward for your genius.
The next morning, you woke up and sprung out of bed at your first alarm, no one knocked on your door last night to ask you to move your car. You quickly got ready for work and made your way down to the parking lot.
"What the hell..." you cursed. The car was gone, your car was still parked across how you left it, blocking the space. How the fuck?
"Good morning Y/N!" shouted your neighbour Jimin from the other side of the lot. "Interesting parking strategy you have there, should probably try and park in the space"
He sends you a wink as he strolls past you to his parking spot next to yours.
You huff.
"I didn't do this on purpose, some asshole was in my spot when I got home and I thought blocking them in would mean I'd at least figure out who it was." You rounded on him quickly, "Did you let them out!?"
Jimin flinched at your interrogation, you knew he found you slightly intimidating and you’d always found this slightly amusing.
He held his hands up in surrender "I haven't moved my car since I got back last night, which was about 10ish and there was no car in your space princess."
You scoffed loudly and rolled your eyes."Don't call me that, you sound creepy" you hissed back. But you were satisfied with his answer.
If he didn't let him out, then who did? You looked at the other spot next to yours. You knew it belonged to an old lady who lived on your floor but she didn't do much driving anymore.
You went to work puzzled, a small part of you hoped they would just stop and you wouldn’t have to pursue this further, but you also knew you weren’t that lucky.
As your work day picked up you quickly forgot about the parking nuisance and dove into the day. 5 pm rolled around again and you packed up quickly today to make sure you left on time.
You drove back as fast as you could (within the legal speed limit), the closer you got to your apartment the more you felt your annoyance rise. You pulled around the street and turned into the car park.
“MOTHERFUCKER” you slammed your fists on your steering wheel and nearly had a heart attack when you blared your own horn. Enough is enough!
You parked in an empty visitors space at the other end of the parking lot and stomped angrily over to the jackasses vehicle. It was a red Mercedes 450, a soft top. It was in mint condition and it pretty much screamed pretentious fuck boy.
You felt impulsive and angry, you were tired and had definitely had enough of these games. You reached into your bag and pulled out a sharpie…
You collapsed onto your sofa shortly after and smirked, you couldn’t catch the space stealer but at least you managed to exact some form of revenge. It was finally Friday night and you fully intended to spend it stuffing your face with Chinese and binge-watching Netflix but just as you opened the takeout app you got a message from some of your friends to meet them at your favourite club for some drinks.
It took you about five seconds to contemplate your options but after the week you've had, you definitely needed some wine, maybe something stronger. Forty-five minutes later and you were ready. You had chosen a cute but simple black turtle neck sleeveless dress, it clung to your body in all the right places and cut off at mid thigh. Your hair was styled to fall in soft waves down your back and you applied your makeup opting for something a bit stronger than your usual day look, accentuating your eyes and making sure your brows were on point. You finished off the look with your comfiest pair of heels and a swipe of your favourite lip shade.
Ten minutes (and an uber) later you’d arrived at the club, you sat down and gazed at the selection of cocktails and shots laid out in wait.
You raised your brow to your friends "Rough week too?"
A shot was shoved into your hand by your friend Nicole in response and you shrugged gesturing to your friends before knocking it back with ease. The night continued in a blur of drinking games and shots. You couldn't stop laughing as your friend Kat acted out a dare to chat up a guy, the catch was she could only speak to him in French. She did surprisingly well and had charmed a tall handsome stranger at the bar, his ears were a little on the large side but he was still cute.
You were suddenly dragged onto the dancefloor by Fallon and Tiffany. You all faced off in a dork dance off that left you in stitches; you were crowned as the winner. As the music shifted tracks and more bodies filled the dance floor your circle started to expand out slightly. You spotted Tiff dancing with a muscular blonde who seemed to have a habit of flexing his arms to the music. You suppressed an eye roll. Up ahead Fallon was grinding with a tall guy in a leather jacket, his hair was pushed back and was that a lip ring glinting in the light?
‘Get that dick my hoes’ you thought to yourself and smirked.
The song shifted to something slower, it was almost sensual with a heavier bass line. You flipped your hair over one shoulder and threw your arms above your head. You definitely felt tipsy and allowed yourself to fall into a trance as you swayed your hips to the rhythm of the music. The dance floor was pretty crowded now but you were startled when out of nowhere unfamiliar hands ghosted up your sides.
"Care to dance with me doll?" There was a playful tone in his voice as he whispered in your ear. You spun around to face the handsy stranger.
He wasn't much taller than you but his shoulders were broad, his shirt was unbuttoned enough to make out the shape of well defined pectoral muscles and you wondered what else was under it. Your eyes wandered up until they met his, chocolate brown with a mischievous glint. His features were delicate but well defined - basically, he was hot.
You watched as his eyes raked over your body, his head tilting sideways and a pleased smirk plastered across his face. You, however, had now noticed something very prominent about his appearance and you snorted.
"I thought mullets went out of fashion in the 80's" you called over the music.
He chuckled at your words and stepped further into your personal space, there were only a couple of centimetres between your bodies now.
"Well I think it looks pretty good and judging by the way you're staring doll, I'd dare say you like what you see too"
You were sure it was just the fact you were slightly buzzed and it had been a while since you had gotten laid but for whatever reason, his body language and cocky attitude had ignited something inside you.
'Fuck it, just go for it'  flashed in your mind.
So you grabbed a fistful of his shirt and smashed your mouth against his.
You feel him jump in surprise when your lips make contact but he quickly recovers and presses his body harder against yours. His hand wrapping firmly around your waist while the other trails down to cup your ass earning a muffled groan from your lips. You pull back from the heated exchange hands still fisted in his shirt.
“I’m Y/N by the way and I only live around the block if you want to get out of here”
You’re still slightly out of breath from the force of the kiss and your head is spinning. What were you saying? You had just met the guy and you didn’t even know his name.
He looks back at you, eyebrows raised in surprise, he bites his lip as you watch him consider your proposition - fuck, he looks hot when he does that.
“The names Baekhyun, and as much as I’d love to get you out of this club and out of that dress, I think you’ve had one too many margaritas” He sighs running a hand through his hair.
Now you were the surprised one, he thinks you’re wasted. You step back for some breathing space and pull your phone out of your bra, earning a questioning glance from him as you look at the time.
“Actually my last drink was over 2 hours ago” you announce.
You weren’t tipsy anymore.
You want him.
You step forward and wrap your arms confidently around his neck, watching as his eyes darken.
“Then what are we still doing here” he murmurs leaning forward to capture your lips.
A/N: annnd thats the end of part one! Special shout out to @rudeboywonho for being my beta on this!

Did You Say... He? | 04
Tumblr media
Member: Kim Taehyung
Genre: Fluff, humor, implied smut, Roommate!Tae
Word Count: 1,862
A/N: I soaked off my acrylics because I couldn’t stand not being able to write for you guys. But now I’m all good, and I’m writing this one a bit longer to make up for how shitty the last one was. AND Y’ALL SHOULD SEND IN MORE REQUESTS BECAUSE I WANNA WRITE SOMETHING THAT YOU GUYS WANT T~T please…
“… And we need more milk, and your candy, and some- Tae, where’d you go?!” Looking around, your friend had already wandered off to the other parts of the store. “Goddamn it Taehyung…” Jimin had left to get a few things he needed, so you were stuck with the duty of finding the lost puppy alone. Pushing your cart with a heavy sigh, you started walking down all the isles. Where would this boy be… A sudden jump on your back had you swinging around, bringing a knee to the accuser’s crotch. A low groan came from the man, your eyes locking on the mop of brown hair. “Shit, Tae?! Fuck, get up, get your ass up!!!” Trying to tug him up by the collar of his shirt, a breathy moan came from his lips. hOLY FUCK, WHY IS HE MOANING??? WHY??? NO??? THAT’S NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN??? “Tae, get up!”
“Fuck, sweetheart… God, shit, ugh, you have a good leg…” A blush was bright on your cheeks, helping him up and sheepishly smiling to the people around you. His hand slithered its way around your waist, kissing your temple. “Oh my god… Okay, I’ll remind myself to never give you backhugs. Goddamn.” His low laugh floated in the air, taking hold of the cart and walking along with you. “Now, we’re gonna go get some candy, and then we’ll get everything else. Are you okay?” Looking back up to him at his words, you realized you were zoning out because of a few factors. You kneed him in the dick. You heard him moan, and shit, it was fucking hot. Then he got up, kissed your temple, held your waist, and walked around with you like a couple. That’s totally normal, right?
“Huh? Oh, yeah, um, I’m fine. Don’t worry.” You tried to give him a smile, but a quick peck to your lips had your eyes widening to saucers. “Wha-” Taehyung’s grin grew, an adorable giggle falling from his lips. His hand ruffled your hair, as he pushed the cart further.
Once you heard your name, you snapped out of your daydream and looked back up at Tae, who had his eyebrow quirked into a perfect arch. “Did you even hear me? Are you okay?” Fuck, I IMAGINED THAT?! GOD FUCKIN-
“Yeah, yeah, um, I’m good. C’mon, let’s go.” Tugging on his sleeve, you trudged your way through all on the isles. Fucking imagination, ruining my dreams… “Get all the stuff you want, I’ll leave it up to you.” A boxy smile adorned his face, as he walks along you and throws some stuff into the cart. Upon seeing how gloomy you were suddenly looking, his grin faded to that of a frown. He couldn’t stand to see you like this. And he couldn’t stand the fact that you didn’t know. So, coming up behind you again, he hoisted you up onto his shoulders, laughing at the way you grasped his head. “Tae! What are you doing?! You’re gonna get us kicked out!”
You were sure this wasn’t your imagination, and you tried to scramble your way off of his shoulders. But, his huge hands had a tight grip on your thighs, keeping you there. Falling backwards, you sighed as you dangled off him, your hair sweeping the floor. “Tae, if you drop me, you’re paying for my medical bills.”
Another laugh bubbled from his throat, and he pulled you back up to a sitting position. “You looked sad, I hate seeing you like that. It makes me sad. But anyways, I think we have everything we need. I’ll pay.” he pushed the cart up to the registers, laughing and thanking people when they commented on how you two were the, “cutest couple they’ve ever seen”. The only thing you could do in response to that was to bury your head into the crook of his neck, getting “awww”ed even more. You weren’t against the idea of dating him, at all. I mean, really, who would be? After helping him carry everything out to the car, you put the car into shift.
But, not before Jimin jumped onto the hood of the car and scared the living shit out of you.
You jumped up as fast as humanly possible, banging your head threateningly hard against the roof of the car, your head slamming back down. Your movements stilled as darkness started to engulf your sight, black dots growing bigger and bigger.
      Until it was all black.
Quiet, gentle callings of your names woke you up, which then turned into hoarse, desperate please for you to wake up.
“wHOA, whoa whoa whoa, what’s up? Tae? What’s wrong? Oh god, Tae, don’t cry, please don’t cry, it’s okay, I’m okay. Don’t worry.” You took his head in his hands, clutching it to your chest was pounding, your heartbeat pounding in your ears. Everything was spinning, the bright lights blinding, but you focused on the few tears slipping from his eyes and rolling down his flushed cheeks.
The door busted open, a teary eyed Jimin coming. “Oh god. (Y/N). I-I’m so sorry, I was just gon-”
Your laugh stopped him mid sentence, looking up at him. “Jimin, miss me with that bullshit. It’s okay, and I swear, if you try to apologize, you will trade places with me. Now, come on, I’m not staying in a death house thing any longer.” Jumping up, you ripped off the IV drip and headed to change in the bathroom.
Also not knowing that the two boys got a clear view of your ass in the hospital gown.
After signing out with two unusually quiet boys, you headed back out to the car. “Why are you two so silent all of a sudden?” Turing to look at them, you noticed how they both immediately looked back down to their feet.
Jimin was the first to speak up, scuffing his feet on the floor in a shy way. “Well… We-”
      “We saw your ass.”
      “TAEHYUNG!”
“WELL AT LEAST I TOLD HER!!!” You were doubled over laughing, gripping the edge of the car.
“C-c’mon, let’s just get Jimin back to his apartment.” You weren’t allowed to drive, so you laid down on the blanket bed Tae had made for you, and watched the glaring fest the two at the front had. Once Tae had pulled into Jimin’s lot, he murmured a quiet “bye”, before speeding back to the dorms. You laughed as you saw how white his knuckles had turned from his grip, resting a hand on his shoulder so that they’d go back to normal.
“Tae, calm downnnn. It’s okay baby boy.” You laughed and thought nothing of the little name you had called him, not noticing the bright blush on his cheeks. “Let’s go, we’re back.” You opened up the car door and slammed it shut, opening his as well and tugging him out. “So I was thinking we just binge watch whatever the hell you want tonight, and I’ll get popcorn duty. Sound good?” A simple nod was all you got from him, so you smiled and unlocked the door. As soon as you shut it, your body slammed back onto it, being met with the lust filled eyes of Taehyung. “T-Tae, what are you-”
“I don’t think you’ll be calling be ‘baby boy’ for a long ass time after tonight.”
And that definitely wasn’t a part of your imagination.
The morning sun had shown through the windows, lines of light flooding into the small room. A quiet moan left Taehyung’s mouth, his back arching with cracks echoing through the air. “Babe?” His voice was husky, even lower than normally. “Are you awake yet?”
A groan escaped your lips as you rolled over into his chest, as you quietly sighed. “What time is it…?”
“Oh fuck. U-um, it’s… One?” This caused your eyes to shoot open, looking straight at him.
“IT’S ONE?! OH MY GOD, WE’RE LATE!!!” You threw the covers off of you, standing up from your makeshift couch. “Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck… Where are all my shirts?” Rummaging around, Taehyung propped himself up on his elbows, a smirk tugging at his lips.
“I don’t know about you, but I’m staying here. You can join me if you want~” You stopped in your steps, looking back up at him before ripping your shorts and shirt back off. His low laugh danced around you, the sound brightening up the room even more. Plopping back down next to him, you handed him the remote, tracing light circles on his chest.
You two stayed lounging around all day, slow and loving kisses being shared, tickle fights turning into make out sessions. The day was calm and quiet, something that you wished you could have every day. But, maybe in the future, add a few mini Taes running around, and your life would be complete. You were never into the idea of finding the right person and having kids - you were a more, “I’m gonna find a place, own some giant dogs and a million cats” type of gal. Now, running off to some warm, beach side house in California with Tae sounds like the perfect dream, having a couple of kids to grow up with the waves. It was your dream.
You had both stayed up throughout the day, keeping each other company and snacking on bowls of ramen. You two had been reading a book to each other, going back and forth, before a loud bang at the door stopped you both.
      “Who is it…?”
      “Jimin!”
      FUCK.
You jumped up, throwing on one of Tae’s shirts. You cracked the door open, looking up at him. “What’s up?”
“I was wondering if you two…” His sentence ran off as he peeked through the crack at your body, lightly covered by Tae’s shirt that only went just below your pantie line. “Are you wearing his shirt…?” You felt a pair of arms wrap around you from behind, looking up to see Tae glaring at Jimin. Once again.
“Yes, she is. And no, we’re fine staying here tonight. Now, anything else? No? Okay, bye Jimin.” He shut the door with a sigh, and looked down at you. “Baby… What’s wrong?”
You found out that he had already known about the incident that happened between you and his friend previously, so you knew he didn’t mean that. “I mean… I don’t even know. I just don’t want you two being torn apart because of me, that’s all.” His lips pressed against yours as he grinned, his eyes fluttering back open to look at you once he broke away.
“We’ve always had this frenemies thing going on, I’d have a crush, he’d take her from me. So don’t worry, you don’t know how happy I am right now.” You both laughed, his hands sliding down to the bottom of the shirt draped over your torso.
You both may or may not have ended up skipping the next day too.

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
There has been a bit of a theme in my life in recent weeks that has given me pause for thought. Am I grateful for all of my blessings? Probably not, but I know that I am far less entitled than I used to be. It’s only when I see others being so negative about things when I really can’t see the justification for it that I begin to realise how easy it is to not count our blessings.
Tumblr media
This concept of an attitude of gratitude is nothing new, but it can be an unpalatable thing to engage with. This is especially true when you are not in the most positive space, which ironically is probably when you should the most. It can sound a bit flowery and fluffy to think about things you should be grateful for when it’s far more appealing to focus on what you don’t have or dislike.
I grew up in the 80s and during such times music was largely held on cassette tapes or on the radio. Imagine today wanting to listen to a song that you like and having to either wait for it to come on the radio or to have to fast forward through loads of other tracks to get to the one you want. In today’s world, we take it for granted that we can listen to anything at any time whenever we want. We just have to stream it or go on to YouTube and watch it whenever we want and however many times we want. Damn. If you want to speed up the track or sing along, it’s all right there.
If you want to know what is happening in the world you can just switch on the News channel of choice for whatever narrative you are looking for or go to a website where not only can you read what someone thinks about what is going on, you get to have your own view on it too. Back in the day, you would have to go and pay for a paper to be delivered to your door or have to go to some dodgy shop to buy it and no one gave a flying fuck about your opinion on it. Or where the news was concerned you had to wait for certain points in the day to work out what was happening. Now, the blessing is that you can access it whenever you want, but it’s probably more of a blessing to just ignore it altogether.
As a male, I remember being exposed to porn through some random discovery in the woods of an overused magazine that someone discarded there. Nowadays you can watch it on your phone or in the privacy of your own home and here’s the best bit: it’s free! Like seriously if you had a choice in life, being depressed by the world or just masturbating away into oblivion, I know which option I would choose. Spread love, not hate.
We get our shopping delivered to our doors without having to navigate the queues and undesirables we normally encounter in the world. You don’t have to sit there for hours writing lists anymore and then crossing it off as you put the item in the trolley. Now you just log on and repeat the purchase or pull up your ‘favourites’ and select from there. Even if you still like writing lists and going to the shop you can just download an app that allows you to create a list that can be reused over and over again.
Tumblr media
We live in a golden age of television with more binge-worthy content on demand that you will ever be able to handle. Even when you have completed a series or show, you are immediately presented with alternative offerings that other boxset junkies have taken to address their fix before you. You don’t have to go and queue up at movie stores anymore crossing your fingers in the hope that your desired movie is in stock. Now you just download it or stream it to your home for a fraction of the cost. You don’t even have to watch the movie at home. You can watch it on the move on a tablet or a phone.
Beyond entertainment, and I was only touching on the tip of the iceberg above, look at how our lives have changed. Working from home is increasingly being made available to staff so that they can as a colleague once said to me be ‘agile as fuck’. Being Agile AF allows you to get a better work-life balance if you do it right. Fitting chores and routines around getting your work tasks done in lieu of having to talk to your workmates or get stressed out about the latest office gossip. I love how I can utilise this agile working practice to focus on my work whilst not wearing office attire, killing off the commute and being surrounded by my cool canines rather than my weirdo workmates.
What I am grateful for at my workplace is that they provide all manner of free beverages and spaces to allow people to have a comfortable experience when they are in work. I remember in previous workplaces people setting up mini regimes for collecting money for tea, coffee and milk and becoming super militant and territorial about it. Fuck, as a non-adult drinking person, when I was a manager I used to dread the standing ‘tea and coffee fund’ agenda item. It was like watching a bunch of grown-ups descend into a playschool antics, much like discussions on Brexit. Now, it is literally like the land of milk and honey whenever I’m there. These things are too often taken for granted and people start to focus on the less desirable aspects. Take those things away though and those people might end up certifiably insane.
I’m becoming increasingly aware of the importance of being grateful for the little things. I feel much happier when I do. Plus, it reminds me that if I start to get fucked up about being offered milk and sugar rather than organic goat’s cream and Splendour, that maybe it’s time to have a word with myself.
I recall a situation maybe six months or so ago, where a well-known telecoms provider went down for about a day or so that there was utter outrage. People were claiming they were losing out on business and others were claiming that their lives had been turned upside down. I didn’t even notice. I guess either my Wi-Fi kicked in, or I was too busy getting on with my day that it just passed me by. Sometimes we should be grateful when these things we take for granted go down too. It’s a chance to see how lucky we are and to be mindful that whilst the world we live in isn’t perfect, sometimes such things give us a chance to take a break from it all.
Being a little less entitled and a lot more grateful for what we do have is the best way to cope with the absence of things we like and want. In fact, it means that when they do come along we can see them as a fortunate accident or simply decide that we are okay and turn them away. It’s kay to desire more and want new things or better circumstances, but sometimes if you just stop and look at where you are now compared to an earlier point in time then you would probably say things are not all that bad. If you disagree with that premise, then perhaps you are not looking closely enough at what you have. Even if your life is so awful right now that you can’t imagine it getting worse, do just that, imagine what life would be like without that one thing that is keeping you going. Now all you have to do is keep moving forward and before long you’ll have many more things to be grateful for.
It’s generally when we are taking things for granted that we find life has a way of tripping us up and taking those things away and then we are even more miserable than we were before. That lesson right there is what you should be thankful for, even though you will resent it. In time, you will learn that was the start of a realisation or a new chapter in your life education: be grateful for the small things and before long you will be surrounded by more than you could ever imagine.
Life is all about counting your blessings, not your deficits (so fuck you, Chancellor of the Exchequer, get a real job).

Anticipate/Neutral/Dread
Going through the anime, it’s curious to see my baseline gut reactions to what’s next on the docket. Maybe this is just my own way of seeing things, but I often have an aversion to anime I’ve been watching - maybe I know it’ll demand a kind of emotional investment (It wants my fucks, and I have so few fucks to give; can I really afford to spend them here?). Like exercise, it’s quite rare I’ll get into a show and be unable to watch while it’s showing. I’m generally okay once it’s playing, no matter how bland or how over-the-top. But here are my responses to a bunch of what I’m watching now.
Ranma 1/2 is neutral. I’ve seen and read the whole dang thing - all of it. So it’s very relaxed, and has the occasional nostalgic moment as I see a scene I’d forgotten (remember the science club guys who try to kill Ranma during his first battle vs Ryoga? I didn’t), but it isn’t going to show me anything actually new.
Aldnoah Zero is interesting because it fluctuates. It has episodes that hit and others that miss, because it’s a drama. Sometimes the drama is affective (yes I spelled that correctly) but nonetheless induces the desire to avoid the series, because I’m just not in the mood to spend emotional energy on that kind of thing, you know? Other times it gets self-obsessed with how clever its science is and forgets to make the narrative carry our mood at the same time. Coming up on the end, I’m interested to see the last 2 episodes, so right now it’s in the “anticipate” category. But it did have several episodes where I twinged and went, “really? More of this?” before holding my nose to gulp it down (metaphorically).
Hell Girl is probably going to be lightly dreaded every episode. As I said yesterday, it’s not aimed at being a fun show to watch. Interesting, artful, frequently badass...but “fun” isn’t the aim. And as a show focusing its camera on cruelty it’s a little more taxing than most.
Hayate the Combat Butler conversely will probably never be a nuisance, unless I get two seasons in and they suddenly run out of budget (I remember Ranma had a cringeworthy season or 2 where they farmed out the animation to a cheaper studio and you could really see it). This is the longest series I’d never seen any of before I started this binge, at 103 episodes. I like it!
Hyperdimension Neptunia is almost constantly in the dread category. The mix of kiddie, saccharine, and sexual seems...basically like there’s no target age that doesn’t assume something’s wrong with the viewer. It’s got great comedy, a reasonably interesting story, and lovely animation. So...I wish it weren’t subtly repulsive?
Blessing of the Campanella is very similar but somehow just slightly less offensive to me. I’m neutral toward it, as a series. Somehow it reminds me of Winnie the Pooh: So sweet and kid-friendly that not quite enough can happen to keep me invested for a whole episode. Actually, the opening theme song also reminded me of the Indigo Girls’ cover of the Winnie the Pooh theme.
Sailor Moon is neutral. Some of this is from its age; If something’s offensive then, as with vintage animation, I can sort of shrug and say, “Yeah, it was a product of its time.” I haven’t quite seen all of this, but I have seen a lot before. It’s quite a blast to see some of the weird quirks (For the first 2 episodes, Jadeite’s theme was this weird jazz number. They changed it out for something more sinister from E3 on), but there’s enough that’s samey about the “monster of the day” format that I can’t really be champing at the bit for the next ep of Sailor Moon. At least, not yet (I’m in Season 1). I’m willing to give it time to grab me. I mean, a lot of people agree that Star Trek: TNG is an okay show for 2 seasons and only becomes a GREAT show somewhere in the middle of S3. Also it’s so weird seeing the original S1 opener, with only 3 Senshi.
Dream Eater Merry is...neutral, I guess? By rights I should be SUPER into this series. The visuals are clever and well-crafted and moody, and the story has this adjacent dream world that seems like exactly the kind of thing I’d love. Somehow it’s just not coming together. It’s so busy selling mood that it’s just a little unfocused story-wise, and the dreamlike quality of the visuals is constant/random, which means it can’t be used to help draw attention to important details.
Black Bullet is also neutral. It feels so obsessed with copying clever ideas from the big hits that it failed to commit fully to having its own identity. Those ideas are clever, so the show’s pretty fun to watch, but it feels less distinctive than, say, Bleach - even though Bleach followed a lot of very predictable plots (and the super-speed vs swarming mass fight was a near-direct copy from Gaara v Lee). It’s also got this tone issue where it wants to be a light harem comedy and a grimdark Attack on Titan style “last of humanity” story and...can’t. Sorry. They undercut each other, and doing both in the same episode just makes both elements feel weak. They don’t feel like people trying to maintain a light harem situation to deal with the pain or ignore the terror; They feel like people who are in a light situation, until the writers bring up the imminent threat of death again. It’s clumsy.
Because I Don’t Like My Big Brother At All is dreaded. Every time. It’s started resorting to punching down, in its comedy, and it started off in a bad place  since it’s...y’know...about a girl’s obsession with the idea of underage incest? It’s had some laugh-out-loud humor, but it feels like it’s getting weaker over time as they have to reach farther afield for new jokes.
The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan is anticipated every time. I’ve been ticked at characters here and there but it’s always been because I’ve cared about what’s going on. The narrative is strong and the visuals and sound design aren’t just gorgeous but supportive of that narrative.
Monogatari is also a fave. It’s got that supernatural element that I was talking about being a green flag for me re: Dream Eater Merry, and it has the unique series identity missing from Black Bullet. It’s stylized in a way I’ve...only really seen when watching episodes of Monogatari. In a world where people say “there are no new stories under the sun,” that’s worth a lot. The story moves super-slow, but the banter moves lightning-fast, so you (or at least, I) don’t have time to get bored by the broader pacing. And the different opening for each issue really investigates the interaction between opening song and viewer’s understanding of story - especially the way it changes in the final 5 episodes of S1 (the song stays the same but the animation shifts, as new info has come to light).
Cowboy Bebop is one I’m not allowed to dislike. Fortunately I love it. I think it was episode 6 or 7 it had a commercial-cut image that said, “The Work, which will become a genre of its own, will be called Cowboy Bebop.” And I was like, Yeah. They earned that. It’s gorgeous, with art and sound and editing/direction that all holds up decades later, and moreover I’ve never seen it. It’s all new to me.
The Asterisk War is a harem show and kind of a fluff piece, but it’s fun and I do consistently want to see the next episode. It earns it with good, believable multi-note characters and world-building that feels coherent rather than patched-on-as-necessary.
Black Cat is the reason I started writing this review...thing. I dread it and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the emotionless male lead? It’s only been a few episodes, though, so I’ll let it go and see how things progress once the band actually forms up (something the opening sets you up to anticipate).

Lost Stars - Part 18
“KIM SEOKJIN OF ALL PEOPLE JUNGKOOK! DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND HOW BAD THIS COULD GET?!” Kijung roared. “Dad, he asked for it. He pushed me. Look at my clothes!” “I DONT CARE JUNGKOOK! I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THIS! IF HE PRESSES CHARGES, I LOSE MY JOB! HIS FATHER IS MY BOSS AND YOU KNOW HOW HE FEELS ABOUT YOU ALREADY!”
You and your mother exchanged looks… well, she was fuming with you and looking at you with fury. Furious you’d left school with Jungkook and disappeared for hours. You’d tried to explain you were too scared to say no, but she was having none of it, of course blaming your friends and newfound attitude.
An hour and a half later, and you and Jungkook were both grounded for two weeks. To be completely honest, neither of you were going to complain. Two weekends in each other’s company didn’t seem like a punishment at all…
Later that night, you and Jungkook ended up going to bed hungry. Your mother decided she wasn’t cooking for delinquents. Typical.
It had quickly become boring in your room, after finishing your homework and beginning to binge watch Say Yes To The Dress. Two pairs of feet scuffled outside of your room and you heard a bedroom door close. Finally, your mother and Kijung had gone to bed.
You waited for half an hour before quietly opening your door and venturing out into the now dark halls. The second you passed Jungkook’s room, an arm snaked around your waist, a hand over your mouth as you were pulled back. You let out a squeak.
“Shut up!” Jungkook hissed and you immediately began to pull yourself out of his grasp. “Are you crazy?!” You hissed. “Are you?! What are you doing?!” “Believe it or fucking not, Jeon, I’m starving. I was going to get food.” “What kind of food?” “I don’t know a sandwich or something.” “Wouldn’t you prefer something a little… hotter.” “What- …oh. Very funny Jungkook. I’m going to eat.” “I can tell in your eyes you want to.” “Jungkook I’m not sucking your dick.” “Fine, fine. If I have to do it myself, you’re not allowed to do anything to yourself unless I say you can.” “You’re mental. You can’t stop me.” “Oh really?” “Yeah.” “Get on your knees and maybe I’ll make it worth your while.” “Jungkook. You’re really going to have to do better than that.” You crossed your arms sternly.
Jungkook slowly walked over to his bedside table, crouching down to the bottom draw and pulled out something metallic. He stood up, holding both hands behind his back. Once he was in front of you again, he lifted his left arm to reveal a pair of handcuffs.
“Oh fuck.” “Temped yet?” He smirked. “Why don’t you tell me what you’ll do with them, first?” “Well, obviously first I’d strip you of those cute little pyjamas, and then I’d push you down onto the bed with all of my force, making you you kept quiet as I lock your wrists together between one of the bars on my headboard. I’d tease you, make you beg for me. And only when I’m satisfied will I drive you into my bed, hard and fast as I can. I’ll punish you if you even dare to make a noise. I’ll fuck you better than anyone ever could. You’d never forget it.”
At some point, his eyes had clouded over with lust, voice deepening to a sexy growl. He was looking at you like you were meat, and you wanted to be devoured. Keeping your eyes locked with his, you sunk to your knees, unzipping his jeans.
“Good girl.”
~^*^~
Jungkook had done exactly what he promised to you, teasing you, drilling you into his mattress, keeping you quiet. It was truly the most amazing experience of your life. He was right, there was no way you were going to forget it.
The next day, however, was just torturous. Your entire body from head to toe ached and Jungkook couldn’t help but laugh when you told him. Jimin had figured out why you were slightly limping almost immediately and made a face of disgust. You grinned at him.
For the entire day, you were within arms length of Jungkook. He just couldn’t let go of you. Not that you minded… you couldn’t stop replaying what had happened that night in your head, and Jungkook’s hands all over your body didn’t help. At lunch, you were cuddled into his side, not caring who cared at this point. No one, not even Min Holly would even think about ratting you out.
“I have to pick my car up at the weekend, want to come with?” He asked. “Kookie we’re grounded. We can’t.” “We can and we are. Wear something pretty. I’ll take you some place nice.” “Look at you two!” Chae squealed. “Yeah. Look at them.” Jihyun rolled his eyes. “Just because I’m getting more than you.” Jungkook teased. “You won’t be getting any if you keep being mean to Hyunnie.” “Rude.” “Anyway, Jungkook, tell us about that dude you punched the shit out of. He had to go to hospital.” Tae suddenly spoke. “Well,” Jungkook sighed, “baby don’t get angry at me, this was in Busan. I’m a changed boy,” he said to you before turning back to the group, “that was Kim Seokjin. He used to be a friend of mine, but then we had a big argument. Our fathers work together, his father is my fathers boss. I was angry because his dad wanted to kick mine out of his job. I took it out on Jin, and we ended up being enemies pretty much. Anyway, his girl came to me one night, saying he’d broken up with her and I slept with her. But then they got back together and I stupidly continued to hook up with her. She caught feelings and as soon as I moved to here, she dumped him, telling him she loved me and confessed about the cheating. He came to get his revenge… I guess.”
The entire table was silent. No one could believe what Jungkook had just confessed to. Not even you. He looked around at all of your shocked faces nervously.
“Like I said, I’m a changed boy.” He muttered. “Well that Jin doesn’t seem to think so. If I were you, I’d keep [First] in my eyes at all times now.” Jimin pointed his plastic fork at you. “Like I don’t already.” Jungkook whispered, pulling you in for a quick, sweet kiss. “That’s disgusting do it in private.” Jihyun complained. “Trust me, we do a lot more than that.”
Jihyun began choking on the pasta he’d been eating.
~^*^~
“So… if e equals mx squared, and m is four and x is six, mx is… 24…?” Tae scratched his head. “That’s right TaeTae!” Chae smiled brightly at him. “And… 24 squared… is…” “Here.” Chae handed him a calculator “576!” “Yes!” Chae giggled, “obviously the numbers will be a lot smaller, but it’s a good way to learn.” “Thank you so much, Chae! Can I thank you in food?” “Sorry?” “Let’s go and get lunch, my treat.” “Okay.”
~^*^~
“Can we get food before we get the car?” “All you think about are your ten stomachs.” “Rude. Can we go get hamburgers? Please?” “Fine.”
Ten minutes later and you were in a burger shop called “Dr Burger” which Jungkook - someone who’d been living in your hometown for a mere 5 months - swore was amazing. You rolled your eyes as he began the process of building his burger. He ordered a double order for you to eat together. You turned, bumping into someone’s back.
“Tae?!” “Oh… h-hi…?” “Hi Chae!” You noticed the small figure standing behind an obviously flustered Taehyung. “Hi [First]!” “IHAVETOLEAVE!” You both watched as Tae practically sprinted out of the store. Chae sighed. “You really like him don’t you?” You placed a hand on her shoulder. “I do. I really do. But I’m not sure he likes me back.” “Chae, look at me,” she lifted her head, “he’s crazy for you. Trust me, I know when he’s crazy about someone… and he’s crazy for you. If you have to make the first move, that’s okay. It’ll make everything easier.” “Thanks [First].” “Well what are you waiting for? Go after him!”
She turned, grabbing her purse and throwing a twenty onto the table before fleeing after Tae. You turned back to Jungkook who was pondering on dessert. You scowled at him.
Finally, your food was in front of you as you sat at a table in the corner. Jungkook was looking at you devilishly, two burgers sitting in front of him.
“You’re a pig.” You rolled your eyes, picking up your burger and began to eat. “A pig that you’re dating.” “Don’t remind me.”
After you had both ate, you strolled through the city to the car place where Jungkook had taken his car. The walk was slow, it not being any later than 1pm when you arrived. There sitting at the front was Jungkook’s matte black BMW, not even looking like it had had any adjustments.
“What did you even do to it?” You asked. “Modified the engine and exhaust. My baby is gonna sound bomb. Nice dress by the way.” “You’re only noticing now?”
You were in a white sundress, two frilly straps holding it up. It was straight and flowing down your body to your ankles. There were also ridges where material had been stitched together, but it looked nice. To compliment the dress, you’d put on some nice, low wedges.
Leaning against the hood of his car, you watched as he strutted into the main office of the dealers, talking for a while. In the window you could see him sign for something before picking up the keys to his car and returning. He flashed you a grin. You continued watching as he walked around the car, opening the passenger door.
“M'lady.” “Why thank you, kind sir.” “Now that I have let you into my chariot, how about you let my chariot into you?” He smirked. “I take back the “kind sir” you asshat.“ “Rude.” “Says the one who just tried to get me to have sex with him in his car.”
You fastened your seatbelt, finishing up as Jungkook got in. The engine roared to life and Jungkook let out a whoop.
“That’s it, baby!” “Why don’t you just date the car.” You joked. “Because I can’t fuck the car” “Sure you can, it has an exhaust pipe doesn’t it?” “It won’t make the pretty little noises you do.” “Touché.”
With that, he pulled off, screaming in complete and utter joy as his car growled as the speed accelerated. Soon enough, you had no idea where you were, Jungkook speeding around what appeared to be a forest, winding roads and all.
He never slowed down unless coming to a red light or stop sign. He’d eventually come back to the highway and half an hour later, at just last 3pm, you were in some weird, nature reserve-y area.
“Jungkook where are we?” “Don’t ask questions. Unbuckle yourself.” “Alright…”
He hurriedly got out of the car, rushing to your side to open the door. The outside world seemed so far away, it was just you and Jungkook in this makeshift car park, surrounded by large evergreens. Jungkook took your hand, leading down a small, rocky path until it stopped at a medium sized willow tree that was on the edge of what seemed to be a lake. On either side, lining the water were larger rocks. Jungkook hopped over, sitting down on one of the larger rocks, taking off his shoes and socks before dunking his feet into the water.
“Come on, it’s actually pretty warm.”
The water sloshed against the rocks, creating a beautiful quiet harmony. You bent down, untying the ribbon to your shoes and stepping out of them. The small pebbles beneath your feet hurt, but you still walked over to Jungkook. He took your hand like any gentleman, helping you over so you could sit next to him. You looked out at the water, feet now fully submerged.
“How did you find out about this place? Even I didn’t know this was here.” “I do my research. Our first date had to be perfect.” “First date?” “Well, official date. I know we’ve already eaten, but I’ve got food in the back of the car. It’ll take an hour and a half to get home, the adults won’t be back until at least 8. We have towels. How about a dip?” “You’re crazy if you think I’m going in.” “Come on, [First]. It’s not like there’s alligators.” “You can go in.” “Alright then.”
He pushed himself backwards, allowing himself to get up and hopped over to rocks back to the path. He pulled the black t-shirt he was wearing over his head, flexing his abs as he did. Next were the navy shorts. He bit his lips, looking you dead in the eye as he slowly peeled them off his body, only clad in his black Calvin Klein’s now.
Bounding off, he raced forwards, pushing up at the last minute, jumping over your head and splashing into the water. Some droplets made their way to you, causing you to squeal. Jungkook surfaced, hair now flat against his forehead. He let out a scream of excitement. He swam back over to you, clutching onto your feet for support.
“The water’s warm, baby. Come in.” He smiled up at you. “Kookie~ I’m not coming in~” “This is our own little paradise, don’t be a spoil sport.” “What’s in it for me?” “Take a guess,” he began walking his fingers up your foot, your angle and your leg under your dress. “Stop trying to talk me into stuff with sex.” “Okay, if you come in, I’ll…” “You’ll tell Jimin you’re secretly in love with him and you’d rather date him than me.” “Are you joking?” “Nope.” “Fine.”
He watched as you pulled yourself up, slowly making your way back up the path a little bit. First, you let your hair fall from the half up half down style you had going on. You then ran the straps of your dress down your arms until they were off. Jungkook watched as you bent down, pulling the dress off slowly, in one go.
“That'a girl.”
Your eyes narrowed, not caring about being almost exposed in public. You darted forwards, jumping at just the right time and hugging your knees to your chest. For a split second, you felt like you were flying. Then you came crashing down into cold water. The world disappeared. Your arms came flying out and you surfaced.
“THAT’S MY GIRL!” Jungkook cheered, swimming over to you and wrapping an arm around your waist. “It’s fucking freezing!” “You’ll warm up if you move around.” “You sound like every dad at every swimming pool ever.” At those words, Jungkook moved closer, pressing his wet lips to your wet ear. “Aren’t I your daddy, though?” He whispered.
Your face flushed, hands coming down to slap his hard chest. Water splashed between you. Jungkook began to cackle and you scowled, swimming away from him by a few feet. Once he notices your distressed state, his amusement was only fuelled.
“[First], don’t tell me you have a daddy kink!” He laughed. “I… I do not!” “That’s fucking hot, I have to say.” “J-Jungkookie!” Your face deepened in colour. “Don’t worry, you can be as submissive as you want. I’m not complaining.” “You’re such a dickhead!”
You hurriedly dunked your body under the water, cutting off his mean laughs. You opened your eyes. This water was surprisingly blue and clear. You could see Jungkook’s legs moving before he also came under the water. His hair spread around his head and he smirked, swimming towards you. He placed his hands over your eyes, before kissing your lips. You smiled into the kiss, wrapping your arms around him. He hauled you both up, both of you gasping for air.
Once regaining your breaths, you stopped to stare at each other’s faces. To drink in each other’s features before Jungkook pulled you in, kissing you. Water ran between your lips, making the kiss a little clumsy, messy even, but you still sunk into it. Time stopped. It was just you and Jungkook. God knows how it had ended up like this. Whatever had happened was behind you, and now you were in a lake, most likely trespassing as you kissed him like it was your last kiss with him.

The Witch of the East Wind
Dark Eurus Potterlock?
un-beta’d, so if you catch anything please let me know. will be posting on ao3 later tonight.
cw: dark witch eurus, disordered eating, binge eating, psychological abuse (implied, mild), physical abuse (implied, mild)
not fluffy, i’m sorry. basically where my mind went for explaining how eurus could get victor in a well to kill him? i was reminded of young tom riddle telling dumbledore he could make people do things and psychologically torturing the other kids at the shore. anyway.
ps i think eurus is right around harry potter’s age? younger? not older.
When Eurus’ letter arrived, Mycroft thought it was for him. He was 11, after all, and Mummy Holmes was a well respected witch, often consulted by the Ministry of Magic for their more complicated arithmancy problems. Of course, Mr. Holmes was a muggle through and through, moneyed and well-bred, yes, but without even a touch of magic in his family line, so it did stand to reason that some of their children could be magical and some not.
“Tell me again, Mummy,” Mycroft would ask as his mother used magic to prepare dinner so she could focus on a tome she was reading.
“The owl brings a letter when a young witch or wizard is around 11 years old, maybe younger in very special circumstances. And then the child accepts and attends school, learning all they need to know to be a bright and successful member of the magical community.”
“But tell me about Hogwarts,” Mycroft whined, stuffing a biscuit into his mouth.
“I’ll tell you later, dear. At bedtime. Go outside and play, now,” Mummy would say, barely looking up from her reading.
She’d ply him with stories at bedtime, though. She’d talk about the riddles she solved to get into her common room, and the exploits of famous wizards. Mycroft dreamed of them. And so, on his eleventh birthday, he started waiting in earnest. Every day he’d scour the sky for owls while Sherlock played in the fields and Eurus trailed after him.
“I won’t be here much longer,” he’d say archly over breakfast. Sherlock would protest and Eurus would smile, darkly pleased with that possibility.
Finally, an owl came. It was snowy white, and flew three rings around the house before flying toward the mail slot and sending a letter in at top speed. Mycroft had never run so fast in his life. He was three months past his birthday and summer was fast approaching. He’d need to start at Hogwarts soon or he’d be too old for his year.
When he entered the house, out of breath and legs aching from running, he saw Eurus holding the envelope in her small hands. She was only three and half, but she could already read, and she was looking at the front of the envelope with wonder. Mycroft went to snatch it out of her hands.
“That’s mine,” he said, plucking it from her fingers and holding it above her head. He turned it over in his hands, ready to see his name in classical script. “See, Eurus Jane--” he stopped short, shaking his head. Below him, Eurus smiled. “Mummy!” He yelled frantically, stuck to the spot where he was standing, incapable of understanding how something like this could happen.
“Mycroft, what is it? I was in the middle of writing a very important response to someone and you’ve made me lose track of what I was saying with your shouting,” Mummy said, emerging from her study in her dressing gown. She stopped when she saw the letter in his hands. “Oh Myc, you finally got your letter! We’ll have a cake tonight, won’t we my darling boy?”
“It’s mine, Mummy,” Eurus said proudly as Mycroft shook his head.
“That--no, that can’t be, little one, you’re barely three now,” Mummy said, taking the letter from Mycroft’s hands and examining it. She gasped at the name, then broke the wax seal and removed the letter inside, reading it to herself in a whisper. “Ms. Eurus Holmes---Hogwarts--await owl by 31 July.”
Tears were pricking Mycroft’s eyes and he balled his fists, willing them away. “They’ve made a mistake, Mummy. Haven’t they made a mistake?” he asked.
“Yes, they must’ve done, I’ll get it all sorted today,” Mummy said absently, turning to go back into her study.
“But I want to go to Hogwarts, Mummy,” Eurus said, stomping her foot. The house shook violently in response. “They asked me, not Mycroft.” She twitched her hand and Mycroft felt his stomach clench, and he watched his mother gasp uncomfortably as though she were feeling a similar pain.
“We’ll see, my little one,” Mummy said soothingly. “Let Mummy take care of it now.” And she disappeared into her study, shutting the door behind her.
When she emerged hours later, Eurus was upstairs playing violin and Mycroft was waiting for her, sitting on the couch with several empty boxes of Jammy Dodgers at his feet that he didn’t remember consuming and tears in his eyes. Though he hadn’t heard any of what had gone on behind the closed doors of her study, he knew that it wasn’t anything good for him. Mummy sat down next to him on the couch.
“They told me this hasn’t happened in 400 years,” she said, putting her hand over Mycroft’s. “But that Eurus’ talent is beyond anything they could expect. Without early training, she could inflict horrendous damage without meaning to. They want her right away. She’ll have a special room with a guardian, since she’ll be so much younger than the other children.”
“And what about me?” Mycroft asked coldly. He knew Mummy’s answer, but he wanted her to say it.
“I’m afraid that you’re not a wizard, my darling,” Mummy said, sniffing away tears. “But you know your father has had you tested, of course, and you’ll be positively brilliant in the muggle world. You’ll outshine all the children your age, you already do.”
“But I’ll never see Hogwarts,” he said. “Or work with the ministry. Or have a wand.”
Mummy shook her head. “We’ll still have cake tonight, though. Any kind you’d like. The chocolate bundt, perhaps?”
“Yes, please. Thank you,” Mycroft said. “Make an extra, please Mummy?”
“Anything, darling,” she said, rubbing his hand before she stood up to go into the kitchen. “I’ll have a talk with Daddy as well tonight. And Eurus tomorrow. You’ve nothing to worry about.”
Late that night when he should’ve been sleeping, Mycroft snuck into the kitchen to eat as much cake as he could stuff into himself. It was his usual ritual for dealing with emotion that welled up inside of him--tamp it down with food until everything felt heavy and numb. He didn’t expect his parents to be awake, having a row inside his mother’s study. Normally her protective spells would keep the noise in, but they’d forgotten to shut the door completely, and he heard everything they said.
“I won’t allow it, Violet! I will not. She’s far too young for that school of yours. The stories you’ve told, I won’t allow my 3 year old daughter to go there alone. If her brother were there, he could take care of her, but this--”
“He’s a muggle, my dear, he can’t go with her. Hogwarts wouldn’t even exist for him. I know you don’t understand, but there’s really nothing for it. We’ll send Eurus on her own or she won’t go at all,” Mummy countered. She sounded as though she’d been crying.
“Then she won’t go,” Mr. Holmes said with finality. “Not until she’s a bit older, at least.”
“You don’t understand it, but they’re right about her. She needs to be taught how to use the magic she has. The things she’s capable of--they’re beyond what’s normal for a witch of her age.”
Mr. Holmes sighed. “You’d know more about it than I would, I suppose. But she’s far too young. She can go when she’s 5. A year and a half more with us, what’s the harm in that?”
“I’ll contact the headmaster and see if they’re amenable to that. They’ll have to be, I suppose. I can send an owl tonight,” Mummy said.
-----
Eurus railed against the plan to keep her from Hogwarts, and with her screams came a howling wind that rattled the doors and made the windows look as if they were going to pop.
“Please calm down, my little one. We just aren’t ready to be without you for so long,” Mummy said gently, petting Eurus’ hair. “You’ll still get to go when you’re five.”
“But I’m not five for ages! A whole year and a half!” Eurus slammed her fist on the table and Mycroft felt as though he was being punched in the gut. “It’s not fair!”
Sherlock spoke up then. “But Eurus who’ll be the pirate maid for me and Victor if you’re gone? Nobody else can do it like you can!”
“I hate your stupid pirate games,” Eurus spat back. Sherlock looked like he’d been hit.
“At least you get to go to Hogwarts,” Mycroft muttered.
“I get to go and you don’t,” Eurus sang at him, sticking her tongue out. “I’m smarter than you are.”
“Shut up!” Mycroft yelled.
“Go away!” Eurus shouted back, pointing out the door and into the storm.
Inside his head, Mycroft heard a voice urging him to get up and walk out. “Leave, go, get out of here, listen to her” the voice urged him. He stood up and threw his chair back with a clatter, then turned and woodenly began walking toward the front door. His mother stopped him, her arms wrapping around him as she whispered in his ear that he didn’t have to go.
“Children, go to your rooms, now. Conversation over,” Mr. Holmes said.
“Me too, Dad?” Mycroft asked. He was trembling though he didn’t mean to be.
“Come here, son,” his father said, pulling him into an embrace. “You may not be going to Hogwarts, but we’re sending you to the best schools we can, do you understand? You’ll be a Holmes man, through and through.”
“Yes, sir,” Mycroft said, holding back tears.
“And we’re going to enjoy the time we have with your sister while she’s here, won’t we?” Mr. Holmes said.
“Yes, sir.”
“Off you go, then. I’ll come up to say goodnight later,” Mummy said.
Mycroft pretended to go all the way to his room, but stopped at the top of the stairs, listening to his parents.
“That was what I meant, Sigur. No child should be able to compel someone to do something. She needs to be taught how to use her mind and her magic by witches and wizards who understand what a gifted child needs.”
“I saw it, Violet,” Mr. Holmes said, voice shaking. “We’ll send her when she’s 5, and until then we’ll keep her close. Make sure she doesn’t hurt anyone.”
“It won’t be easy. Children don’t know what they’re doing, magical children least of all,” Mummy said. “And I’m no good at teaching magic--I tried it in my youth and failed miserably.”
“We’ll do what we can, then. The Holmes family will survive,” Mr. Holmes said.
From his place on the stairs, Mycroft turned to go to his room and saw Eurus above him, watching and listening. She cocked her head to the side and turned around, walking quietly to her room before Mycroft could think of what to say or do.
That night the wind blew so hard that it shattered the windows of Mummy’s study, and Mycroft wondered if it was more than just a coincidence.

idk how to start off this post im just gonna talk abt my day bc i need to get some things out or w/e
it wasn’t great idk i was supposed to put up an art video on my channel today but i guess a case of perfectionism got in the way? it’s the umbrella drawing, if u follow my art blog (i posted a wip there), and i really like how it turned out, so i wanted to make this video in particular rly good to live up to the standard the art set, i guess?
the main issue was the music, because the original inspiration for the drawing was this song, and i would’ve loved to use it in the video but i’d need to buy a license to safely use it and pfbtbpt im not doing That (although after looking into it, it looks like if i used the song all that would happen is i’d get an ad put on my video? based on what the monstercat website says but im still rly iffy abt it so idk)
basically im not gonna use the song so i have to find an alternative, right. the next plot point is this piano cover by one of my favorite pianists on youtube god their stuff is incredible im blown away every time they upload a video jesus christ. anyway that video came out yesterday and i’ve been obsessed with it for the last 24 hrs, and it turns out the pianist put in the about section of their channel that anyone is allowed to use their music with credit so im like god?? bc i love the song so much
and i did think about using it for my video but 1. it’s very short, it’s like a minute thirty and 2. it’s already from something like it’s not just some random song it might sound weird to anyone who’s seen the anime and recognizes this song i’ve used for my totally unrelated drawing so hgggg but the length was the main issue right i like to try to make my videos around 4 min long at the least and even if i repeated this song it’d only be 3 min so
which brings me to my third idea: i was inspired by the piano video and everything so i thought hey why don;t i just play my own little thing for my art vid that’ll work right. that’s a good idea right. i figured i’d try to do a little improv cover of that first song, the monstercat one that inspired the drawing in the first place, and i mean it is a good idea, except.
except for like 20 million things ok so i guess first of all i just haven’t been on the greatest terms with my piano playing in general lately? im in a weird spot right now where i’m trying to improve my skill level, especially with my left hand, and it’s like. i know i can do complicated things because when i have sheet music and im learning a song that someone else wrote, with enough practice i can get the muscle memory down and get used to playing it; it’s just the fact that im not able to improvise super complicated things that’s been frustrating me
and the ridiculous thing about it is that i look up to all the incredible pianists i find on youtube, especially the one i’ve mentioned in this post, and inevitably im comparing myself to them, which is completely stupid bc these pianists for the most part aren’t pulling these songs out of their asses, they’re putting together arrangements and then practicing them until they can play them perfectly. so it’s super dumb that i’m getting all upset over not being able to replicate their techniques on the fly bc it takes fucking dedication to get to that level right. they make it look effortless because they’ve practiced it. i play a song for the first time by ear and get all mad that im not putting in these fancy additions that aren’t natural for me
what’s frustrating about realizing this, though, is the reality that i just physically can’t practice as much as i’d need to because of how much it hurts my hands/arms/shoulders/back like i honestly dont know what other pianists are doing but i tend to just binge and play for like 3 hours straight it’s really bad i guess but the time just flies by it’s even worse than art
idk, i guess i just get frustrated because my skill level isn’t where i want it to be, like i Want to be as good as these other pianists i look up to but for one they’re much more serious about it than i am, i think? piano is mostly a hobby for me, like i don’t put nearly as much work into it as i do art or as i would if i wanted to actually improve at a higher rate, and i mean. i watch the techniques of other pianists and the speed at which they can play and it just blows my mind i can’t even imagine myself playing that fast unless i. you know. practiced one specific song enough hghudg god i dont know
basically the piano thing didn’t go well today and now my arm hurts (the left one, not really the right but my right hand and elbow were hurting by the end of the session today, im really fucking shit at making myself stop playing) and i recorded some things but i hate them and i want to try again tomorrow but the physical limitations are holding me back; it would be such a bad idea to try going back tomorrow, not because i wouldnt be able to record a song or two, but because a song or two wouldn’t be enough to get something im happy with: what i mean by that is after today i’ve realized that what i want for this video im making is a song to match the drawing, so i wouldn;t want to make just an improv thing like i did today, but rather i’d want to put together an arrangement for it, meaning something with a more concrete melody and not just me panicking and hitting the first chord that comes to mind over and over until i have 8 minutes of music recorded. essentially, i would want to put effort into this song, really make it fit the art, and the reality is that because of my injury i have such a limited amount of time i’m allowed to spend with the piano that this kind of project is just not possible for me
so today was kind of a realization of that, which i mean i already knew this because i tried to do the same thing last month and came to the same conclusion but the wall doesn’t get any less solid or painful the second time you run into it, right
anyway long story short i did not upload a video today and im not sure what i’m gonna do because i still want to pick a good song that lives up to the art but none of today’s potential options worked out so im either gonna have to just settle with a song i’m not as happy with or put off this video indefinitely and try to work out a different drawing i can upload tomorrow or idk whatever happens happens, i guess. it’s for tomorrow’s me to deal with im going to bed

The 12 lightest browsers for Android of 2018
If you are an Android user, you probably have it configured so that Chrome is your default browser. This browser is undoubtedly the most used and the most popular browser, since it is excellent in almost all aspects, except for the space it occupies. It also  needs a lot of memory when running if we have too many tabs open, in addition to storage space. Although Google Chrome is an excellent browser (if not the best), it can cause your mobile to go somewhat slow when used in  low-end devices .
We had already talked about some alternatives to Chrome  in its desktop version, but the performance of these alternatives was more or less on a par with this one, with its advantages and disadvantages. This time we will focus exclusively on performance and browsers for low-end devices. And is that there are several very light browsers that we are going to talk about in this post. We are going to organize them from largest to smallest. And yes, we have included the same Chrome in the list.
1. Puffin Browser
Puffin is a very good option, since besides being a fast browser , it is very customizable. The browser includes many many backgrounds and extra elements to customize the interface. Puffin transfers a lot of data to a set of cloud servers before distributing them to users, being more efficient when loading very heavy pages on devices with low bandwidth, like any phone when we use our operator’s data connection.
Puffin is a relatively light browser, besides being the fastest in smartphones . The only downside is that it only has a free version for a limited time and another paid version.
This browser also supports the increasingly less used Flash Player, although the truth is that there are many other browsers that support it in a native way. It is the only 100% paid browser that we show you here, so I recommend you keep reading.
2. Maxthon Browser
Maxthon is a new browser that uses a cloud engine , redirecting many tasks to a set of servers that will reduce the processing load of your phone . It occupies 9.5 MB and in its latest version, called Mx Nitro, loads the pages much faster than any other existing browser.
3. Chrome for Android
What does Chrome do in this list? Well, very simple, because what belongs to César is from César. Chrome is the most used Android browser , having the advantage of providing great reliability . It is a very fast browser and the one that best integrates with any other application on your smartphone. If we configure it, we can activate a data saving function to reduce the amount of data transferred.
Google Chrome includes other features such as voice search and Google’s excellent translator. The truth is that we can not say that it consumes too much memory. The trick is not to open too many tabs at the same time. Anyway, it takes a lot more than the browsers at the end of this list.
4. Firefox for Android
Firefox began its career in smartphones with some delay, but has been growing. The best options are the privacy options and the possibility to configure the tracking options. It is also possible to customize the home page, being able to add data from other services.
Firefox is relatively light, although it is not a joke like the following browsers in the list. Its interface is very simple and works very well in both tablets and smartphones. If something is Firefox, it is the Open Sourcebrowser par excellence.
5. Opera Mini
It is the heaviest browser on our list, with a size of 3.5 MB, but full of features. Opera Mini includes an ad blocker , and this means that you can read complete articles on your Android device without seeing a single ad, although this can also mean that in the future, you can not read articles like this one. From this website, we recommend blocking malicious ads or ads from websites overloaded with advertising , but you should also think about pages that make moderate use of advertising , since the profits are already in themselves, are not many.
Opera Mini includes a mode of saving data, themes, private browsing, night mode and a simple and elegant interface . In short, if the normal Opera browser did not exist, you would not think that it is a much smaller sized version. In this case, the term “Mini”  is something relative to the normal Opera.
With Opera Mini’s data-saving mode, the browser  compresses all content long before it reaches your Android device by using external services to reduce the size of everything that arrives on your phone, no matter how heavy it is. the content, even if it is a really slow connection. Thanks to this compression technology you can see any content without consuming too much mobile data with a very acceptable response time. As it could not be otherwise, you can also navigate in incognito mode with the use of private tabs.
6. Brave Browser
The next browser is Brave Browser, which is a bit lighter than Opera Mini , occupying about 3.4 MB of space. Maybe your name does not sound too much, but you could know the name of  Link Bubble , which is the browser on which it is based, descendant of the Mozilla family of products.
Its name reflects the main feature of this browser, which are floating bubbles , allowing you to open  pages in the background so you can consult them later. This means that you can continue to see the content you have on the current web page while a new web is loading in the background to save you time.
The free version of Brave Browser only allows you to load a web page in the background, but with the paid version you can load as many pages as you want or need. It also includes a powerful advertising blocker to increase loading times, because by eliminating certain types of advertising , which you will not find on our website , the pages will load much faster; It also includes an option to deactivate the tracking through cookies, guaranteeing your privacy.
7. APUS Browser
The next browser that we recommend for your Android phone is APUS Browser  (yes, like Apu of the Simpsons in plural). This browser occupies 3 MB of space and it is possible to reduce its size to around 2.5 MB. Although it is lighter than the Opera Mini, it is also full of very valuable features that may interest you, such as the acceleration mode , with which you can increase the speed up to 60% and reduce the use of data by 20% .
This browser has a simple interface and offers many important features, among which the use of AdBlock advertising blocker, the inclusion of Flash Player, high speed mode, navigation in incognito mode, night mode, navigation without images or without videos and much more.
Apus browser also includes a download manager , the option of using full screen and a button to save the webs that can be viewed offline. In short, it has a large number of features that justify that you have it installed on your phone. Requires Android 4.0.3 or higher.
8. Chromer
Matched in size with APUS Browser, Chromer occupies 2.5 MB. This browser relies basically on Chrome Custom Tabs and floating bubbles as well as Brave Browser. The difference is that on this occasion, the functionality of the floating bubbles is called WebHeads .
Thanks to Chrome Custom Tabs you will  not need to log in to a lot of sites, saving you valuable time. In addition to its lightness, it includes a preload of pages to try to accelerate navigation. What Chromer really does is scan the links of the pages you are visiting to cache certain contents in memory. In addition, this browser is compatible with Google Chrome’s data-saving mode .
9. UC Browser Mini
This browser, besides being very light, occupies very little space, since it occupies 1.5 MB of space of your mobile. The best thing is that despite its small size, it has a very nice interface. You might think that due to its size it might lack many functionalities, but in this case it is not true, since it includes things like, for example, a search bar with permanent notifications . For those who are holding their hands to their heads, say that this bar can be deactivated.
UC Browser Mini has other important features such as page preload , incognito mode navigation, data saving , night navigation mode and a QR code reader . This application is an excellent tool to watch videos on the Internet; In addition to including your own download manager , it allows you to manage your files in the best way.
10. Dolphin Zero
Like Opera, Dolphin Browser also has its reduced version, called Dolphin Zero. In this version you can only navigate in incognito mode , so it is ideal as a secondary browser. Moreover, it will surely be the one you use when you get into bed and you can not sleep or when you get bored and go to the bathroom for a while, we know each other. It is one of the lightest, since it only occupies 500 KB . This browser gives you an experience of the fastest and easiest to surf the Internet, automatically deleting all your data when you close it so that your novi @ not catch you anything.
Despite being the lightest navigator on the list, do not expect much more from him, because basically he has neither more options nor more possibilities . The only additional option that you can configure is to  change the search engine to, being able to choose between DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Bing and Google.
11. Lightning
The next browser in the list is Lightning , which translates lightning. This browser occupies 2 MB of space and its interface is very similar to that of Google Chrome. Requires that your Android version be 4.0 or higher.
Lightning is an open source browser although, however, its free version has some restrictions, as you can only open a maximum of 10 tabs at a time . In addition, you can not use the advertising blocker if you do not go through the box.
Some of Lightning’s most well-known features are its quick-access bookmarks bar , its reading mode , the text readjustment that adapts to the width of the screen, night mode or the option to customize the search engine, among others. things. They are common in almost all browsers, but keep in mind that we are talking about very compact browsers.
It’s not a bad option, so maybe it’s worth having this browser on your mobile.
12. Naked Browser
Naked Browser is a browser reduced to the minimum expression , since it only occupies 119 KB , so it is obvious to deduce that its interface will not be as eye-catching as that of its competitors. Naked Browser does not include any graphic elements or icons, nor GPS, but it is ideal for those who have a very low-end device with little RAM. Still, it includes tabs and bulletproof security.
This browser will not consume resources neither to spy you, nor to control you, nor to show you ads. On the contrary, this browser will use the minimum amount of data possible in order to process your requests faster. Because Naked Browser is designed to be highly efficient, you can browse any web much faster than with any other browser.

How to future-proof your SEO for 2018
We’re (frighteningly!) almost to the end of the year, and with just a couple of weeks left in December, it’s time to start preparing for what SEO might look like in 2018.
A little while ago, we highlighted our seven SEO trends for 2018 that you should be watching out for. But what practical steps should you be taking with your SEO to prepare for next year?
In this article, I’ll break down some key trends you should be preparing for in 2018, and what you can do to future-proof your SEO for the year ahead.
Let’s dive into it.
Voice search and digital assistants
As Tereza Litsa wrote in our 2018 trends article, we can expect voice search and digital assistants to reach even greater prominence in 2018.
Digital assistants in people’s smartphones have been around for a while, but their accuracy has greatly improved over the past couple of years as natural language search improves, to the point where search increasingly resembles a fluid and intuitive conversation. This is important for widespread adoption.
Add to that the fact that a new legion of smart home hubs from Google, Amazon, Apple and others is being installed in people’s homes (think how many of your consumers might be getting a 2nd generation Amazon Echo or an Echo Plus for Christmas), and it’s crucial to optimize for voice search if you want to stay competitive.
Here are some basic principles to adhere to when optimizing for voice search and digital assistants:
Optimize for natural language queries – long-tail keywords, full sentences and questions
Although keywords are still important, people are searching less with disconnected individual keywords like “Barack Obama age” and more with full questions like “How old is Barack Obama?”
To optimize for these, think about the questions you want your website to surface for, and search them to see how well you rank. Can you produce Q&A-style content that will answer these types of queries? Consider also producing content with a slightly more conversational tone that will match the way that people are phrasing their queries.
Aim for the featured snippet
Featured snippets have long been known as “position zero” on the SERP, but with voice search they become even more crucial. If a search result for a voice query has a featured snippet, that’s what will be read aloud to the user as the answer to their question.
Incorporating a numbered or bullet point list or table with the key points of your content can help your chances of grabbing a featured snippet, as can creating Q&A style content.
Optimize for actions and apps
People don’t just ask questions to their digital assistants; they also give them commands, like “search for [keyword] on [app]”, so think about ways to optimize for these.
If you do have an app, deep linking or app indexing will allow users to access it via search, and thus via their digital assistants. Apple has already produced SiriKit, which will enable your iOS and watchOS apps to work with Siri – an important future-proofing move for the advent of Apple’s HomePod.

Linkless link-building
This one might seem like a contradiction in terms, but let me explain. Link-building is still a valuable tactic for SEO: we recently looked at a study on enterprise SEO strategy which found that small businesses are particularly likely to benefit from link-building as an SEO strategy.
But link-building for SEO also isn’t as simple as it used to be even a few years ago, with Google algorithm updates like Penguin and Fred cracking down on sites with poor link profiles, and Google issuing warnings to bloggers over freebie links.
To future-proof your SEO for 2018, therefore, you need to do two things: focus on quality, long-term link-building, and learn to appreciate the value of linkless backlinks. Here’s how.
Cultivate long-term relationships for quality backlinks
In a presentation at Brighton SEO this year, Greg Gifford espoused the value of building real-world relationships in order to score backlinks that your competitors can’t get. He was talking about local SEO, but while this might be especially true for local SEO, it’s key for SEO on a broader level as well.
The enterprise SEO study that I mentioned earlier found that PR is by far the single most effective link-building tactic for businesses of all sizes (though for small businesses, guest blogging was almost comparable). Good PR and outreach can allow you to build invaluable relationships with those quality publications that will give your site a ton of referral authority.
Even if you don’t manage to score a backlink, a mention will go a long way – read on to find out why.
Track and build linkless mentions
Search engines are increasingly able to associate mentions with brands, and use them as a trust signal to determine a site’s authority.
At SMX West 2016, Duane Forrester, former Senior Product Manager at Bing, asserted that Bing figured out how to associate mentions without a link “years ago”, and SEO experts have noticed a patent by Google which indicates Google has long been doing the same.
So along with your regular backlink monitoring, make sure you invest in a web monitoring tool that can help you track mentions of your brand, as well as focusing on PR, reputation management, brand awareness and online reviews.

Mobile-first indexing
Google’s long-awaited mobile-first index is already being rolled out, so if you aren’t already mobile-first in your approach to SEO, you need to be in 2018.
Mobile traffic (traffic on smartphones, tablets and similar devices) has already outstripped desktop traffic and is continuing to climb, which means that it’s a fair assumption that users who reach your site will be on a mobile device, and possibly searching on the go.
Here’s how you can be prepared.
Be fast
Speed is of the essence in SEO regardless of device, but it’s even more crucial on mobile, as mobile users have been shown to be considerably less patient when waiting for sites to load. Be sure to test for issues with your mobile site speed, and be aware of the things that can bloat your site and slow it down, like images and JavaScript.
Design for context
Google has been emphasizing for some time in its search quality evaluator guidelines that mobile users approach their searches with a radically different context to desktop users.
While someone on a desktop computer is likely to be searching in a limited number of settings (in the office, at home or possibly in a café), mobile users can be absolutely anywhere.
Therefore, a truly future-proof mobile website will be able to respond to user context. This sounds futuristic, but there are already subtle ways that this can be accomplished, particularly with m-commerce websites. For more on how to achieve this, check out why mobile commerce sites should be designed for context.
Set up AMP, Instant Apps or Progressive Web Apps
Thanks to Google’s recent drive towards improving user experience on the mobile web, brands now have several options for a streamlined, hyper-fast mobile app or site. If you’re already confident that your mobile site or app provides an optimum experience, then stick with what you have; but if you’ve been looking to upgrade, consider implementing one of these options.
Accelerated Mobile Pages: Google’s “lightning-fast” mobile web solution has been hit and miss with SEOs since its launch in February of last year, but Google is still keen to push it and has continued to implement upgrades to make it faster and more engaging.
Android Instant Apps: Android Instant Apps are apps that can be shared and accessed via a link without a full download, combining some of the advantages of mobile websites with an app experience.
Progressive Web Apps: PWAs are an “app-like” take on the mobile web which can function offline and be pinned to a home screen, incorporating some of the advantages of apps into a mobile website.

AI and machine learning
If 2017 confirmed one thing, it’s that the old days of discrete, name-able Google algorithm updates are behind us. Google’s Gary Illyes confirmed as much in a flippant keynote at Brighton SEO in which he stated that Google makes two to three updates to its ranking algorithm per day, 95-98% of which are “not actionable for webmasters”.
The reason for this is due to Google’s increasing use of AI and machine learning in its ranking algorithms. Google’s algorithms are no longer a set of clearly-defined rules set down by humans, but a constantly learning and fluctuating entity.
This, of course, has thrown webmasters and SEOs into a spin about how, exactly, they can optimize for artificial intelligence.
We’ve addressed this in a number of recent articles on Search Engine Watch, and the overriding message is: don’t worry about “optimizing for RankBrain” or “optimizing for AI”. If you stick to fundamental SEO best practices, you’ll be fine. Gary Illyes spelled this out in his Brighton SEO keynote:
“Every single update that we make is around quality of the site or general quality, perceived quality of the site, content and the links or whatever. All these are in the Webmaster Guidelines. When there’s something that is not in line with our Webmaster Guidelines, or we change an algorithm that modifies the Webmaster Guidelines, then we update the Webmaster Guidelines as well.
Basically, if you publish high quality content that is highly cited on the internet – and I’m not talking about just links, but also mentions on social networks and people talking about your branding, crap like that … Then you are doing great.
And fluctuations will always happen to your traffic. We can’t help that; it would be really weird if there wasn’t fluctuation, because that would mean we don’t change, we don’t improve our search results anymore.”

Videogames and Mental illness
So folks life’s been interesting lately but let’s not talk about that. Anyway a certain video game caught my eye this past month called “Hell Blade: Senua’s Sacrifice”. This game caught my attention when I heard it dealt with mental illnesses and tries to replicate some of the symptoms. But before I dive it I want to ask the question; why do people play videogames?
Well folks gaming has something for everyone, easy games, mini games, hardcore games. Gaming can be used as a simply pass time or a way of life. It can be competitive or you can play a story based game which can pull you in and make you fall in love with the characters. Games that make you apart of the story and you cry when they cry or make you laugh when the characters laugh. Gaming can be a great way to escape real life, which I don’t suggest you use it for that for extended periods of your life since it could backfire but hey, it’s true. Gaming can stimulate the part of the brain that makes you feel emotion but that’s only if you play games that actually do this; story based games for example where you get attached to the characters. However most of the actual game aspect of the game is purely logic. Games that are strictly logic based actually can numb the part of the brain that helps feel emotion… ironically the games I play most actually. So for a long time I accidently used gaming as a way to numb my emotional and mental pain that I experience from depression. I also turned to gaming because it was the closest thing I had to a home, that’s where all my friends were at the time and that’s the only place I’ve felt like I belonged, until my girlfriend came along and made real life much more bearable.
The point is, is that a fairly popular reason for people to play video games is to ignore hard ache or forget their current issues. I obviously know from experience. Now much like most media, gaming also portrays people as well crafted characters who are perfect in most ways. The only time a character isn’t perfect is if it is going to be used to play off the other characters. A good example is the new Gears of War. There are 4 main characters; there is a female character who is your standard teen boy fantasy girl (so much so that it’s really cheesey). Next is your typical soldier with a decent sense of humor. Also there’s a cranky old man with a great sense humor who often clashes with the main character who can be quite sarcastic. The point is they all have flaws (except the girl who I can tell was very carefully crafted by the developers). By having these well thought out characters put into such exciting worlds for the meaning of pure entertainment at the cost of it being only possible in a videogame. Now obviously there are things in life which are only possible in a videogame but it’s not really any different when you look at a magazine and the models are all air brushed and edited in Photoshop or reading a book and the personality and script is made to make someone seemingly perfect. These words are crafted in special ways and when we compare ourselves to these characters or models. We hurt our self esteem and nothing can quite measure up to the lives or appearances of these characters. Just as a side note, I’ve noticed that videogames are using humor more and more these days. A good story is always captivating but Humor is linked to memory and in the early stages of a game when the player is still learning, it makes sense that the developers would use humor to help the player enjoy the learning stage and it will actually help them learn faster. This results in the game being much more enjoyable no matter how simple or complex the game might be.
Next is how we are gaming. Now we can talk all about ergonomics or whatever but that’s boring and quite simple. Basically if you’re in a crappy chair or some awkward hunched over position while gaming for a few(several) hours a day, it’s not healthy for your body. I remember as a kid the wire wasn’t far enough to reach from the Super Nintendo to the couch so I would often lay on the floor with my head closest to the screen and would have to look up a fair ways for several hours a day. I was young and it somehow never bothered me and I still often find myself laying in awkward positions while playing consoles games but I do the majority of my gaming on my computer which I have a proper desk chair with all the right support and I wasn’t cheaping out on this. It’s a high end chair and will probably live longer than me. The thing I actually wanted to talk about was time spent gaming. Now I am guilty of many 24 hour marathons (some not so successful) I’ve spent countless days where I hardly eat or sleep while I am just at my desk gaming with the only breaks being food and bathroom. Now why would I do this? Because it’s feak’n fun! But let’s not get off topic. Now gaming is actually very good for your brain, it’s been said that with a modern display while playing fast paced action games can actually improve eyesight (just don’t sit too close to the screen). Apparently forcing your eyes to track small objects at quick speeds helps improve vision somehow, I don’t know all the science but that’s a fun fact. Of course if you’re using those old monitors or tv’s that project the image from the back and through the screen then those are the screens which are bad for your eyes and gave gaming a bad name back in the 90’s. Also gaming is good at improving one’s ability to distinguish sounds. For example when  playing a moba there can be up to 10 characters (2 teams of 5) all fighting and certain audio cues warns and tells players what the other characters are doing and can therefore react and prepare for whatever it is that sound may be telling the player. Also it’s not just audio but also visual and spacial. In an FPS game especially you must be able to see an enemy and then once they are out of sight be able to track them based on their speed so you can estimate where they are or where they could be based on how much time has passed since you last saw them. On top of that it isn’t just one enemy, it’s often several enemies, also if the enemy is carrying certain items or abilities it can change how fast they can move or even if they can turn invisible, teleport etc. A gamer must know all of this in order to achieve victory over his opponent(s). As you can imagine doing this with your brain can be very difficult and requires practice to train the brain and to give the player the mental strength and endurance to perform at such a high level for hours on end. This is different from normal sports because in every sport I can think of you can simply take a look around and bam, you have all the information you need to decide what is best. You don’t need to track players or solve for variables to estimate the enemy’s location and plans. Also in normal sports players don’t have supernatural powers or such drastically different skills like characters in videogames do. These added characters, abilities, in game enemies and allies add a whole new level of strategy to games which simply don’t exist in the real world. Like I said before, this gives the human brain a lot to think about and it all changes very fast. However though most games can strengthen the brain, some games can become very repetitive and can be almost bad for it. It’s not that the game is bad but repetitive task is bad for your brain because by doing anything (in or out of a game) can be bad if it’s super repetitive. I mean just doing one thing over and over doesn’t challenge, teach or train you mind to do anything and your mind will just kinda start dying, much like binge watching a show you’ve seen a hundred times and you just lay on the couch with a bag of cheetos thinking to yourself “uhhuhuhuhhuh… what am I doing with my life?”. I’m guessing you know the feeling, I think every millennial in North America has done it at least once.
Moving on to how gaming can numb emotion or heighten your emotions. I’ve mentioned here in my blog that playing games that are strongly logic based can neglect and eventually numb the part of the brain that feels emotion. However games that tap into the player’s emotions can make them very emotional. It’s just like a good book, movie or show. You get attached to the characters and the world, but then when the story ends or a beloved character dies, we feel for them and if you’re like me… I mean if you’re a loser, you just might cry (I cry sometimes). Also some games allow you to make big and small decisions which will change the fate of characters and the world around you. Games like Life is Strange or Mass Effect could have you making decisions which could cost a character their life or change the outcome of a battle, or someone might just get mad at your for a few minutes. Either way this level of storytelling is not just something that you can get attached too but something that could make the player feel guilty for making the wrong choice resulting in something horrible. On the flip side you can feel like a good captain or a good friend by making good choices which can make a person feel well accomplished. In a game like this where you could actually take credit for saving someone’s life or mending a poor relationship between two characters depending on how you’d handle the situation. My girlfriend is currently playing through the game Life is Strange and watching her make decisions in a world like that is very entertaining. Anyway the point is depending on the game, they can be both good or bad for your emotional well being, however no matter the game you are still numbing yourself from the real world and from my experience this isn’t usually a bad thing. I mean neglecting relationships, responsibilities and other things required of you is bad but frankly this world sucks for the most part and if you can escape it for a couple hours a day might be good for you instead of constantly working or stressing over everything that life throws at us.
So how does this all affect mental illnesses or cause mental illnesses? Well it’s hard to say, I know that gaming is a good way to ignore physical pain by simply taking your mind off of it. I mean once you’re more concerned about trying to survive a horde of zombies, suddenly your broken foot doesn’t seem as urgent of an issue for you to tend to. Also gaming is a great way to calm down and relieve stress which is actually very good for mental illnesses since stress only adds to the problem. Just don’t play something stressful or intense… like Mario Kart, holy crap! Ever been on the last lap and suddenly a blue shell comes and ruins your life and then you throw your controller through the screen. Bad things happen when you play Mario kart. Anyway some bad things that gaming can do to you mentally is suck up your motivation for life, trust me. Once you realize how much life sucks and there isn’t much you can do about it, it can be depressing. Also like I said earlier, the characters are made to be perfect and stunning. Just like a magazine or something, we compare ourselves to these people too. This causes Anxiety in all of us when we can’t measure up to yet another perfect person on a screen. Next thing that a lot of people think gaming does is actually make people violent. I can tell you how wrong this is. Infact there was a study (I forget where it was a long time ago) that showed that gaming didn’t make people more violent, however it made them better at being violent. Kinda scary I guess but just like videogame fighting takes a level of knowing your strengths and weakness, exposing the weaknesses of your opponent and weighing the odds of success in the event of an encounter. For most people it shouldn’t take long to make a plan of attack and for a gamer to make an effective plan of attack isn’t hard, it’s easy. Therefore their chances of being violent is just as likely as anyone who doesn’t play video games. But when a gamer is violent, they will already have a game plan and therefore have a leg up on the fight making it kinda scary if they are for some reason provoked to attack a person. Of course most of us Gamers aren’t strong weight lifters so the odds of success is usually low and therefore the violent option is usually a bad one, plus fighting isn’t socially acceptable in most places. Not to mention that in real life we’re all very nice people as far as I can tell. Anyway let’s move on.
Anyway let’s talk about that game I mentioned earlier, “Hell Blade: Senua’s Sacrifice”. In this game the main character is a woman who suffers from a mix of mental illnesses, those being: Bipolar, Schizophrenia, severe Depression and like most of us these days, Anxiety. It’s very interesting, now I don’t own this game and I haven’t played it but if I find it cheap then maybe I’ll buy it. The developers made a video showing their different methods for showing these mental illnesses in the character and it was impressive. The coolest was Schizophrenia, they have the character narrate her thoughts throughout the game but when depression strikes an imaginary angry evil voice speaks into right ear.  So for anyone playing the game with earbuds, surround sound or a headset on; they will only hear the voice in their right ear and it is a creepy voice with a silver tongue with it’s only purpose is to speak toxic lies to the player. Next is the voice of Anxiety which  is softer, like a whisper but it speaks with a studder as if it had no self confidence. This voice is in the player’s left ear and it warns you of all dangers or potential dangers along with making up fears that you the person playing probably wasn’t concerned with until the voice told them. This is pretty much what anxiety is to those who suffer from it on such a level of a mental illness. I personally don’t have anxiety like that but I knew someone who did and it’s awful. Anyway with these voices throughout the whole game of fighting enemies, being in a strange and scary place, you can only imagine the hell this game character has to go through. Now if you’re wondering if people with depression actually have a voice like that in their head then the answer is... kind of.
From my own experience with depression I can say that if your depression isn’t “severe” then I doubt you’d have any voices in your head, your mind simply goes for walks down all the wrong paths just to f*** with you. However I have reached several different levels of depression and I can say that yes having voices in your head is a totally legitimate thing that occurs. But don’t think of it like Gollum from Lord of The Rings because that’s… well it’s possible I suppose but that’s next level straight jacket type of Schizophrenia. For me it would depend on how depressed I’ve been. There have been times where I can hear my own usual voice but it’s darker, deeper and angrier inside my own head talk to me as if it was another person. It would refer to me as “you” or I’d think back to it with “us”. This is very rare for me and only happens at the worst of times but it does technically happen. I suppose you could say that I do have one other voice in my head. I guess my book is a decent example of what it’s like for me. Where the voice comes and goes and while it’s there it just fills my head with toxic words. Once I’m kinda shaken out of it or something in real life demands my attention I can snap out of it. Sadly though the depressed vibe doesn’t go away it just kind gets shoved to the back of my mind until next time… fun times. Also don’t get excited it’s not like people see my walking through the hallway watching me have a conversation with myself, no. This all happens in my head, sometimes with a smile on my face while or at a social event or even mid laugh or when someone asks how I’m doing and I say “I’m fine” and yet… I’m not. The worst is when you try and sleep and then the voice comes or your mind wanders down a path straight to hell. It’s painful. Anyway on my average day I would say I do not have an extra voice in my head but I will admit that lately I do and I blame school. The pressures of school are really getting to me and I am dreading every minute of it. Anyway I did finish all my school work ahead of time so I could have sunday off to do whatever I want and take my girlfriend out to do stuff. It’s gonna be great.
Anyway it’s getting late and I need to catch up on sleep. Before I go though I should mention that my writing here on this blog will be cut down to a minimum due to school and wanting to work on my book. Basically I will only be writing here if I need to get something off my chest, if I think of something that I must write about or if I am having an emotional/mental break down and I need to vent and cope in a healthy way. I will still be doing writing as often I can squeeze it in but I don’t want to split my already limited writing time between both my blog and my book so now it will almost entirely be spent on my book for the sake of being productive since I want to finish it. I just don’t want my book to end up being just another unfinished project that rots away like a dead body. Anyway folks gotta go!
