Very worried for the amount of younger people (minors/young adults) and honestly even older adults who have completely forgotten what privacy is and what is appropriate to say online.

Randomly had the idea to shift Chupacabras in my lore from "animal level" intelligence to "human level" intelligence...and then got lost down a rabbit hole of figuring out how that would change how they function 😅

There are approximately 10 pints of blood in the human body. When you donate blood, the maximum amount you can give is 1 pint every 8 weeks.

No matter how severe the crisis, no matter how much more you feel others need your blood, no one will let you drain yourself dry to save others. Nor should they - even aside from the ethical issues, realistically there will always be a need for blood. Even the coldest, most utilitarian ethicist would tell you that it is better for them to accept 1 pint as often as you can *safely* donate, rather than letting you risk your health just to get now what you could safely give over the next 2 years.

That's logical, right? None of us are seriously considering asking the red cross to drain us dry, nor do we feel guilty for respecting the reasonable limits placed on blood donation. It's not selfish - it's what's best for everyone.

Right. So why do you feel bad right now about "how little" you're doing about the issues in the world?

Sure, you have some time and energy. You could give all of it. Except that's not what's best for anyone, is it? Because then you won't have any energy left to take care of yourself. To restore your energy. To come back and donate more in the future.

"But I'm not doing anything!"

Ok. Why is that? Because it's not that you don't want to. You wouldn't be upset about it if you didn't *want* to do something. Which means it's because you *can't*.

"But I should be able to! Other people can! I'm just being lazy/selfish/cowardly!"

You aren't other people. You have your own limitations. Plenty of people can't donate blood for reasons as major as being in chemo to something as minor as a slight iron deficiency.

Hell, I've been the person turned away for an iron deficiency. And you know what? It feels petty and stupid and like a personal failing - what, I didn't eat enough spinach so now someone who needs blood can't get it and might die??? Surely I should just give blood anyways - I can cope with being extra dizzy for a few days!

But that wouldn't be safe for me. And again, giving more than I can afford to, risking my health in the long term in order to help out in the short term is mathematically unwise.

Sure, maybe you *could* overcome whatever it is that's preventing you from acting right now. But the fact that you are struggling to do so is proof positive that you *need* the energy and resources you currently have. It's not a moral failing to take care of yourself - it's a long-term investment. Someone *will* need your help in the future. You can only give that help if you survive the present.

So go. Invest in yourself. Heal what needs healing. Fix what need fixing. Build yourself a sturdy foundation socially, financially, and psychologically. When you can't fight a battle, don't use that to put yourself down, but rather take it as inspiration to keep going, keep getting stronger.

I promise, there will be battles to fight when you are ready for them, be that next week or next decade. Don't deny the future all that you could be.

Losing my absolute shit bc i can’t chew with my mouth closed without my wisdom tooth jabbing into my cheek

11 days until these fuckers are gone and so is all my money

#taks speaks #i cant explain just how much i HATE the sound of chewing #and the fact that i can't even follow my own guidelines of chewing quietly with my mouth closed is just Killing Me rn #im already following fucking post op rules bc i cant chew anything #im gonna be so excited to eat real food again in a couple weeks #and im about to stock up on a fuck ton of tapioca pudding bc i have tastes of an old person #id make my own huge batch of it bc my mom has a PERFECT recipe for it but i have no patience for that whole thing #it's like a half hour of just standing there stirring boiling milk and it is an excruciatingly long wait #anywho im temporarily a mouth breather bc i can't close my damn jaw without biting my cheek so I Hate That #btw bc theyre all impacted it costs 400 per tooth and bc i have a baby tooth that shouldve left when i was 12 IS STILL THERE #it's coming out too which is another 300 bc its not impacted. then anesthesia. some steroid. the shit they use to close the holes....#like fuck it adds up so much #'i thought you were getting your mom to pay for it' my dad says #'she gave me 2.3k' i say #im going to call her this week and be like 'uhhhhh it's so much more money than that'#who knows if ill get more money or not bc she already gave me a good chunk #that i've already spent like 500 of bc of appointments and consultations #and then the 800 i need for another procedure bc impaction and crowding caused problems #i had a dentist say they recommend braces and i was like 'bruh. i'm already over 3000 down the drain. hell no.'#anyway. just have to keep telling myself this is worth it.#no more pain. no more waking up with headaches from sleeping on my side. no more stress of crowding.#i will be unstoppable without my expected headaches im used to and pain of eating #i am just SO USED to pain it'll be weird to not have any #like. this will be HUGE #im just glad i didn't wait TOO LONG to where the teeth fully grew in #that wouldve been worse. by a lot. and potentially more expensive. so that makes me wonder if i did this a couple years ago if itd be 3k #ugh. i hate this. but this is opening up a lot for me. so fuck.

"Following" blogs is the same as "subscribing" to a "subreddit" be sure to "follow" "lots" "of" Blogs "."

You can edit other peoples posts on tumblr, to do this reblog a post and retype the entire post in the way you'd like and tag it with #edit

Reblogs are used in the same way as comments you should reblog and type your thoguhts always, be sure to @ the person who made the post or they wont see it

engage in discourse it is the best way to attract like minded followers to your profile

when engaging in discourse be sure to shoehorn in sick burns as people respond well to this

to start a new post you just need to reblog someone elses post and add your post underneath tumblr automatically seperates your new post from the reblog

So i just read this post about the Bats being Warlocks with Danny as their Patron and its super great, amazing work @aziraphale-is-a-cat and @percyisawesome

At first i thought Lady Gotham was going to be their Patron, because i immediately forgot i was reading a crossover, and that sparked an idea.

What if Lady Gotham doesn't exist and Phantom was the Gotham city spirit.

So DPxDC idea where Phantom was the first recorded Hero/Meta way back before the Justice League members were even born, because i love those stories, but if course no one knew that back then. Metas weren't a thing yet.

So things go as canon but eventually the GIW get worse and worse, especially as more and more of Amity becomes Liminal from ambient ecto leaking from the portal.

And the GIW, way too confident with the Anti Ecto Acts in place, decide that Amity Park is a lost cause. They launch a major attack the town and destroy the portal in the process.

And even though i think the surviving Amity Parkers would buckle down, stand strong, and rebuild their town. For the sake of this idea, lets say they don't do that.

Instead the survivors band together and decide they need to leave, get as far from the GIW's main base of operations as they can.

They go right.

They end up in Gotham, New Jersey.

Now, im messing with the timeline a bit. I still kinda want the DP parts to be early 2000s, maybe late 80s/early 90s at the least, so the uniquely DC events im pushing to later in time a bit.

So lets say Gotham, while still pretty old and with its history and subtle curses, never really expanded into the huge city we normally think of. No towering skyscrapers or really any huge buildings, is barely a small city at this point.

And then an influx of new residents from the west cause a need to expand. Over the generations the former Amity Parkers help Gotham become what we know in Bruces time. By then they're just Gothamites, and if their subtle limiality is to attribute for the modern Gothamite's durability and the eventual rogues' whole... thing well its been way too long to place blame on that random group of refugees.

And where was Phantom in all this? Watching over his people. The portal and his family are gone, he cant be Danny because the survivors believe he died when FentonWorks exploded, all he really has at the moment is these people who's lives he believes he inadvertently destroyed.

So he watches over them, then their descendants and the seemingly unfortunate people of their new home. This little city has afew old curses that are holding the residents back and making them miserable, its the least he can do to take some of them on for himself, just make things easier for the people.

Eventually the city becomes his new haunt, becomes a part of him as he helps it grow and expand. And some Amity descendants still spread the urban legend that is the Phantom of Gotham.

(Just a little side detail that im not sure how to add in but i really like the idea of Liminality eventually evolving or mutating into the meta gene if there's not enough ambient ectoto keep it active. Maybe the portal sent out a shock wave of radiation when it was destroyed. Not everyone was affected but for those who were it either was so subtle the effects fade within a month from the lack of enough ambient ecto or went dormant until it became a meta gene and no longer needed ecto.

I dont know, i mostly like the irony of Batman's "no meta's in Gotham" rule when most of Gotham was unknowingly built by the original "metas")

hello! bsd family dinner people pls lissen up- okay have been thinking about this for a few days and wanna draw some stuff for this event very much but dont know how posible that could all be- soooo im gonna have this be a opt in thingy.

only rules ill be having is that i need time to draw so people will have to be patient if they want smth drawn by me, and that it will go off of a system of sorta first come first serve? as in ill be going and putting people in off of the order this is rebloged by. im also gonna do black and white til the end where ill color everything(unless you draw your own, then feel free to add your own colors).

and uhh im not going to cover up anyones characters. if someones in and already doing stuff with a character then you cant ask me for your character and that character to be doing another thing unless theres another blog of that character wanting to do that with you- (same gose for trying to have sorta even room distribution. if you brought 1700 plates im not putting them all on the table. its only fair)
