i feel like "looking cis" is a meaningless concept because cis encompasses such a wide range of people and experiences they can look like anything. you cant look at someone and immediately know whether theyre cis or trans. you can make a guess but theres still a chance that youre wrong!

like sorry I was screamed at in the women's bathroom LONG before the current moral panic about trans women, end SO MANY Butches have even worse stories than I do (maybe because I have gigantic tits idk) and way more than you know have stories of actually experiencing vigilante violence/having the cops called on them
Shut the fuck up and stop victim blaming. This is the fault of people like you. It's not my fault you're too blinded by your own hatred to realize this shit hurts us too and you're willing to fucking lie about it
This is how you know terfs are NOT part of the Butch community as a whole! This is how you know they're outcasts! Because they've clearly not known enough of us to understand the literal collective trauma we have over the women's bathroom lmao

Are trans people who refuse to date bisexuals because the latter "might be attracted to [the trans person's] biological sex" biphobic? From what I've seen, most of said trans people self-admittedly aren't confident in their passing abilities - which I'm sure explains it but I'd like to hear if you think it justifies it.
Everyone's allowed to have preferences with who they date, and I'm not gonna instruct trans people to date bisexuals if they feel this way, but it doesn't make the reasoning any less biphobic.
It's the same deal when a lesbian won't date a bi woman because she's grossed out by the idea of her significant other also being attracted to men, or a straight girl being grossed out at the idea of a bi guy having had sex with other men before. You're pressed about the way someone else's sexuality works and don't actually trust them or see them as a whole ass person outside of their attraction.
If you're a trans girl and you wouldn't date a bi dude, even if he has made it clear he sees you as a girl, you have trust issues and need to work on yourself. Goes for any sexuality of trans person.
Bi people are seen as capable of these thought crimes that others aren't and it's gross

*smacks you over the head with a poorly put-together history textbook I made in crafts* LEARN BISEXUAL HISTORY BEFORE YOU ACT KNOWLEDGABLE
“Bisexual—being emotionally and physically attracted to all genders.” - GLSEN in fucking 1998
“Do not assume that bisexuality is binary or duogamous in naturs [...] In fact, don’t assume that there are only two genders.” 1990 Bi Manifesto
“But there are also many bis, such as myself, for whom gender has no place in the list of things that attract them to a person.“ 2002
“Bisexual people are those for whom gender is not the first criteria in determining attraction.” 2003
“Assuming that all bisexuals are never attracted to trans or genderqueer folk is harmful, not only to bi individuals, but to trans and genderqueer individuals who choose to label themselves as bi.”
“Bisexual: A person who is attracted to people regardless of gender (a person does not have to have a relationship to be bisexual!)” 2003
“These data support the argument that, for some bisexual individuals, sexual attraction is not gender-linked.” 1992

Why is it that we seem to have completely erradicated our understanding of what a transphobe beyond TERFs like I'm sorry but I'm just reading everyone's comments about the Labour party "going full TERF" like what these people are not, by literally anyone's definition, radical feminists. They're not even feminists and most of the people doing the most legwork in regards to this transphobia are men.
Its like, if anyone says anything negative about trans people but frames it as anything but religious objection it becomes TERFism rather than transphobia, how? Why? This is like Labours whole thing, do the same thing as the Tories but put a weird spin on it. They're also wrapping up most of their anti refugee stuff as anti human trafficking, like its to actually protect the refugees, same thing with trans people, this is not only not feminism but they're not even saying its feminism its all "think of the children (the 24 year old children)" its pretty bog standard in what WAY are they terfs...
And yes I do know its not the most important thing here but its just kinda aggravating me.

Reblogging again for the anon I just got. We still have people thinking that bisexual strictly means two just because of a suffix. As if language is limited to that and completely ignoring the actual literal history of the origins of the word and how it was reclaimed.
Correct me if I'm mistaken but was pansexual coined by Freud? And wasn't Freud the guy that claimed people are attracted to their parents or the qualities their parents have, and therefore look for that in sexual partners?
@cannibal-rainbow has a great post that shows the history of pansexuality. You can find it here.
And here is a link to one of @kiss-the-cis 's discourse shortcuts. Also talking about not only the history of pansexuality but the harm it has done as well.
And yes lol. That was freud. He was a really messed up guy. Pansexuality has been used in kink communities, it's been defined as "attraction to men, women, children, and objects," it's been defined in transphobic ways, etc etc. It's got quite the story to say the least.

thanks for making that post about exceptions and reproductive rights, i know it's not the case for all trans men but personally being included in discourse about pregnancy or menstruation always make me dysphoric as shit
Exactly!!!
Unless we are talking about trans reproductive health it's fine to just say women. Cuz the emphasis is on body autonomy and rights. Let that be the focus. Stop trying to bend over backwards to include various groups. It's ok. Focus on the actual topic please. I know what you're talking about and I know when an issue includes me. I'm not dumb and I don't need you bending over backwards to somehow include me in women's right.
Trust me, if someone is gonna be actively transphobic about their activism, they'll be a lot more obvious then just saying the word women when talking about abortions. Anyone else is just trying to get the main point across. Why make them jump through a million hoops of "the right way to phrase things" just for the right to have a voice?

i kind of can't believe it actually that bisexuals talk about how pansexuality (and other mspec identities) hurts us and then people who aren't fucking bisexual (or, in case of mspec people, who just don't id as bisexual) tell us we are wrong? like im sorry but if you think criticizing a label that was made up online a few years ago is on the same level as actual biphobia then there's something seriously wrong with you.

Hey guys maybe before you call a trans man ‘fem-presenting’ check to see if they are actually purposefully being gnc. Because if you call me ‘fem presenting’ just because I am visibly trans and visibly have boobs I’m going to maul you.

Transracial is also an appropriated term that has nothing to do with transgender. It originally comes from transracial (people adopted by people outside their race. Like a black child adopted by white parents) and the unique difficulties that they have. They always stand out with their own family. They have few to no ties to other people like them. In cases like my example they might not even know something as basic as HAIRCARE!
I have seen a lot of people talking about how much they love their adoptive parents and wouldn't exchange them for anyone, but still talking about the issues of not being the same race. And on the other side we get cases like that one white lesbian couple who adopted like 6 black kids and tortured them, apparently they WERE extremely racist towards the kids and then eventually killed them all...
The people co opting this term piss me off so much. I'm not even involved, but it's important to be able to discuss it. And people who want to pretend to be black or whatever do not deserve that term
I googled this just to be sure but wow yeah I had no idea that's what it actually meant/is supposed to mean! It's fucked up as hell to use a term with existing history and community for your own batshit identity, especially in this instance.
It sounds like transracial adoption is a very interesting and nuanced issue that probably lost a lot of potential support/awareness thanks to creeps like Rachel Dolezal.
