Halloween Special: Familiar Costumes!

🐉: Look at my little princess~ *coos softly* I found this little ring to be her crown and now I just need a little dress, I might ask Ace to sew her one. I think that sounds like a good title though, Sandy Princess of the Geckos.~ What do you think?~ What color should her little dress be? I was thinking green, it compliments her skin complexion.~

✨: Carrots, my sweet little bun, didn’t like her costume-. She was supposed to be a taco, I saw it at the familiar store and thought she was look so cute! But the second I put it on her she starts chewing on it, she also chewed up my couch-, and chittering in distaste so I swapped it for this new little outfit I found. *holds her up and presses their noses together* You’re still adorable my good girl.~

🍹: Hehe~ Look at my regal little gentleman.~ Brownie makes an amazing vampire if I do say so myself. He’s been staring at me for a good 3 minutes in what I can only describe as disappointment. Why is he disappointed? Beats me-. I put it on him and he stared at me…I can tell he’s fighting from taking it off but I hope he keeps it on long enough for me to take pictures of him! I have a different costume for him too and I think it’ll make him even more regal and gentleman like.~ *giggles*

For fun, I figured I'd share a couple bits of trivia and headcanons for my gang and some canon characters specific to "Starlight" (the FFIX x Original fanfic) to #fill the void #from the void once more. 🍃

My Gang:

Though Branson is rather skilled with the lute as well as guitar, when it comes to chords, they most always have to be simplified due to having four digits vs. five.

Mina, despite being mostly inspired by the Luristan newt in design, can do the eye-licking thing geckos do. She can, she isn't notorious for doing it like her siblings, though, who often did it (and still do) simply to mess with people.

Lorien is a left handed violinist. He has earned the goofy little title of "Lefty Lory" in some circles for this reason.

Known for struggling with sleep, it is theorized that one of the many reasons Sal does is because she often travels. Though she keeps track of different times on her cell, particularly her "home" time, the frequent exposure to different times across the cosmos inadvertently take their toll on her.

Canon Characters:

While Kuja's "hair feathers" may not necessarily grow like proper feathers, they do go through molt cycles akin to an actual bird's feathers. They can also be plucked. Anytime he loses them for any reason, he will dress accordingly to hide the fact or lock himself away, nowhere to be seen until the feathers grow back.

Survit (Kuja's silver dragon) earned his name after a rather dreadful encounter with dragoons. Derived from French (given some of Gaia's cultural inspiration and how Kuja inevitably forms some intrinsic interest in said culture once stranded with it) "Survit" translates to "survives."

Though it currently serves no story purpose, Garland is familiar with Ethereals. There are records of them, in their purest form, being used as a source of fuel many millennia ago as Terra navigated the cosmos. Though, they are seen as little more than organic energy sources, given that their purest form bears no sentience (Ethereals not bound to corporeal forms, like Sal, are like space jellyfish, so to speak! A bundle of nerves and energy, easy to interpret as mindless.)

There is some bad blood between Lowell and Lorien. There are whispers that the two had been in a relationship once upon a time. Needless to say, things didn't work out!

🌠 assassin’s creed valhalla starters 🌠

procuring cuttings was messy work especially near the coast, dirt and sand clinging to clothing and boots and flesh while ocean spray dampened clothing and slicked hair. he’d needed more spindleweed and black lotus but the scouts had their hands full enough with the blades of hessarian.

this can’t be comfortable with all that armor, he’d said thoughtfully. he pocketed a fresh cutting of spindleweed, expertly removed from the roots. the metal must not have been more pleasant damp than his coat. i’ll be done in a bit so you could head back to camp. can’t even imagine why you’d want to be out here like this with me.

blackwall didn’t seem particularly ruffled by his prodding. at last, he said, i have felt this way for some time now. i care for you.

loath he would be to admit it, blackwall’s response sent a terrible thrill of satisfaction through him, fool’s errand as he knew this flirtation was. he couldn’t offer the warden what he deserved. he couldn’t offer the warden much of anything beyond perhaps fleeting months. it wouldn’t be fair.

the dragon met blackwall’s eyes ---- those eyes so blue and deep the sea could envy. he moved in close to the other man --- never mind all that damned armor, or the damp clinging to his clothes --- and, tenderly, pressed a kiss to his lips. when at last they were apart, he said, “you’re a good man, you know that?” i’d be a damned fool not to care for you too.

I love how Meleanor's dragon form can serve as little hints about how Malleus grew up as a dragon🥹💚🐉🦎

Comparing the frills on their cheeks... it seems like their frills grows with age and gets lighter and more connected to their eyes, it seems to get more purple skin/highlights as well.

In contrast to Meleanor's adult dragon form with hard scales, Little Malleus seem to have softer skin/scales, so i think their hard scales develop over time too. Also their snout gets more patterned too.

The spikes on their backs seems to separate as they get larger. Looking at Little Malleus, he has spikes that are close to each other yet on Meleanor's spikes, they're kind of sectioned in her head, torso, and her tail.

Their horns grows darker as it gets taller. Its noticeable on the horns of their head and on the wings.

Their horns also get more ridges over their development! Since Baby Malleus has smooth horns but now in Malleus' grown up form and Meleanor's, its more textured.

I think their horns are purple at the start then starts to get dark green??? Both Meleanor and Malleus' horns in card art always have green highlights after all.

I wonder if they're more green-colored in their human form bcs it symbolizes their empathy and how they're more humane and how connected to nature they are, but when they're in their dragon form, that green-color is reserved only in their internal organs (eyes and mouth), so "they shut their kindness off".

As a result, their form is mostly dark purple on their dragon form, the color of (evil?) void magic. So, its like when theyre in their dragon form, they're encasing their empathy inside to showcase how cruel/sinister they actually are, it could also convey that in their dragon form, they're not channelling their "fae magic" but their controlled power over "darkness/evil/hell"

Malleus after all said, he's the ruler of those who follow the darkness, Meleanor is the evil princess, and Maleficent has all the powers of hell.

Also I realized Meleanor (based on the Battle pic), might be as big as a entire castle and that's just her at ~300 years old... She looks like she could wrap her own castle with just her dragon form lol.. So I'm really curious at how massive Malleus dragon form is... Maybe its Ramshackle size for now since he's just 178 years old so might not be a dragon at a size of an entire castle yet-

These are just my thoughts after staring at Meleanor for so long kwhkdhsk also bcs I want more Baby Malleus content,,,, It's what Meleanor would've wished😔😔 especially the time where he first transformed into a human🥺💕💝 I think it'll be precious to see Baby Malleus clutching to Lilia for dear life because he can't balance on two human legs jdkdhlssj🥹🥹💝💖💖 Imagine Lilia's surprise seeing Meleanor's horns on their kid as soon as Malleus transformed to a human,,, 🥹🥹🥹 Levan, where are your genes...

an apologetic smile tugged at his mouth. centuries old and still taken aback by love, to be loved. “i would kiss you, but that damned helmet is in the way,” he teased. perhaps someday he would know how to truly express the love buried deep in his heart, his fondness that of a near-drowned man at last taking in the sweet relief of a breath of air.

armor be damned, he slid an arm affectionately around the other man, caring not for the film of pale dust brushing onto the dark fabric of his coat. thom wouldn’t be there if he thought otherwise. thom wouldn’t be with him if he thought otherwise. he knew that. he ought to have known that. “do you think sera and sulevin have supped by now?” that girl, he swore earlier, could devour more venison than a full-fledged dragon.
