Summary: Dabi comes home to clean himself up and snaps a little more than he should. He makes a quick decision to try and fix it, and maybe even fix a problem you two didn't know you have.

Silence fills the apartment as you sit on the bed, a pregnancy book settled on the top of your belly, eyes half-heartedly skimming over the words. Sighing heavily, you let the book fall to the side just as the apartment door slams open and closed. Sitting up straight, you suck in a worried breath only to release it when you manage to make out the quiet mumble of Dabi’s voice. A small smile makes its way to your face. Carefully, you get off the bed and waddle out of your room to find him. Making your way to the open bathroom door, you pause and gasp loudly when you see him.

“Oh my god, Touya! What happened to you?” You shriek as you move towards him, careful to not touch any of the wounds on him.

“Shit went wrong. That’s it.” He grunts and attempts to shrug you off.

“Let me help you. God, you’re bleeding, staples are undone. Jesus, Touya, what the hell?”

“I said shit went wrong, okay? Back off.”

“Hey, I’m just trying to help you! You’re hurt - you have actual bleeding wounds and some burns on you. Just let me heal you and fix you up.”

Dabi turns to you with a harsh glare and shrugs the hand you have placed on his arm off. “I didn’t ask for your fucking help. If I want it, I’ll let you know but, right now, I’d rather you get off my ass and let me fucking be. Got it?!”

Almost immediately, you can feel tears prick your eyes. Taking a step back, you do your best to not cry in front of him and turn quickly to head back to the bedroom. Closing the door behind you, you finally let tears stream down your face. Sniffling as hot tears trail down your face, you shuffle back over to bed and curl up on your side, quiet sobs racking your body. All you had wanted to do was help him get cleaned up and healed.

In the bathroom, Dabi gets to work on cleaning himself up, anger still bubbling up inside of him. He dabs and wipes at the blood smeared on his face and arms. Slowly, he starts to calm down. Once he’s finished cleaning himself up, he looks over the missing and screwed up staples on his hands. The thought that maybe he shouldn’t have been such an ass to you crosses his mind. Sighing, he shakes his head and replaces all the damaged and missing staples before shoving everything he used back in the drawer and heading to the bedroom.

Dabi pushes open the door and freezes when he hears you sniffling softly. Minor guilt twists low in his gut at the sound; he was just frustrated he hadn’t meant to actually hurt your feelings. Sucking his teeth, he looks over your form and takes a step forward to nudge you gently. Much to his dismay, you scoot away from him and grunt softly.

“Hey.” He grumbles quietly.

Once again, you shrink away from him and pull a blanket up over your body.

“Doll, come on. I didn’t mean to snap at you. I was pissed off and shouldn’t have taken it out on you.”

The tears have stopped flowing, but you can’t help the high level of annoyance you feel towards him right now. He tries a few more times to talk to you and to get you to speak to him, but he finally gives up. A few moments of silence pass before he gets an idea and once again breaks the silence.

“Do you have any ideas for naming the kid?”

“Not really. I have a few names I like.” You whisper, still staying curled up defensively.

“You gonna share 'em or are we just calling the kid a monster for the rest of her life?” He quietly creeps around the bed and climbs up onto his side.

You peek up at him and shrug. “I hate that you call her that, but I kind of like Himari or Mika.”

He nods as he processes. “I could call her a parasite, but I figured you’d hate that more. Not bad.” “Do you have any you like?”

“Not really. I haven’t thought about it too much, figured you’d just pick a name for her.”

Slowly, you uncurl and push yourself up to sit against the headboard. “She’s your baby, too. You get to help pick out her name.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah, I mean, we can look at names together, if you want?”

“If you want to. Guess we should figure out a name before she gets here.” He offers an awkward smile as relief floods his system as you finally stop hiding from him.

“It would be nice to at least have some options for when she comes. Can I have my laptop, please?”

Dabi gives a quick nod and reaches over to grab the computer from your nightstand. Handing it to you, he watches as you open it up and quickly start typing away, pulling up multiple lists of names. A soft fond feeling fills him as he only half pays attention to the names you’re reading off the first list. He only tunes back in when he finds you looking at him curiously.

“Anything you like from that one?” You question. Dabi sits back and does his best to run through some of the names he thinks he heard you list off. “Uh, not particularly. They’re all okay, you?”

You shake your head and go back to scrolling before handing him the computer. “Here - you pick out some that you like.” He reluctantly accepts the device and scrolls through the list, quietly mumbling a few names to himself. “Haruko isn’t bad or Hotaru?”

“Oh, Hotaru is kind of cute.”

He nods and continues his scrolling, occasionally looking over at you. There’s still a soft redness to your eyes from your earlier crying, and something about it eats at him a little. “I didn’t mean to snap at you.”

His minor confession stuns you slightly, shaking it off, you give a small nod. “It’s fine, I get it. You didn’t want my help.”

“I was pissed, shouldn’t have taken it out on you like that. Sorry.”

Your eyes widen at his apology. For the time that you’ve known him, Dabi has never once truly apologized to you. Looking over his profile, you can see the way his eyes somewhat nervously flick over the screen and that’s when it actually hits you. He means it. Maybe it’s not the best apology, and it’s a little awkward, but he seems to actually mean it.

“It’s fine. I shouldn’t have pushed as much as I did. Do you need to be healed at all?”

“Still shouldn’t have snapped. Nah, I’m fine. Nothing is too deep; I’ll live.”

You give a small nod and scoot a little closer to him, so you can look over the screen. A small awkward silence falls over the two of you as you look over more names. Dabi scrolls and clicks on different lists, occasionally pointing to a name to get your reaction. Letting out a dejected sigh, you collapse back against the headboard. “We’re never going to find a name. We’re just going to have to call her baby or something.” You whine. “We just started looking.”

“Yeah, but she’s going to be here so soon - what if we don’t find a name?”

“Then we pick one we both liked from the list, I guess.”

“But none of those feel right!”

Dabi lets his head fall to the side, so he can look at you. “Well, then, I don’t know. Guess the kid just won’t have a name.”

“That’s not helpful.” You grumble, hands roaming over your bump.

He gives a small shrug and continues scrolling through the lists. You occasionally watch his shift into one of disinterest at certain names. Huffing, you let your eyes close and let yourself enjoy the feeling of the baby kicking. Next to you, Dabi continues to mumble the occasional name but, otherwise, stays rather quiet.

“Hey, what about Hina?” He suddenly questions as he points to the name on the screen.

Sighing, you turn your head with all the enthusiasm of a corpse and read the name. “Hina.” You whisper quietly, attempting to get a feel for the simple name.

“Yeah, Hina. It has a couple different meanings, too.”

“Oh, it means sunshine! That��s cute - I like it.”

“Yeah? You like it?”

“Actually, I really like it. I think it’s perfect.”

“So are we agreeing on her name, then?” He questions with a grin.

“Yeah, I think we are. Our little sunshine.” You smile, hand moving over your bump as she kicks.

So last night I Actually was thinking of this whole Endeavor/Todoroki spin off series and the second “Arc” was trying to get a new reformed happy sweet unashed Touya out of Tartarus because technically he’s a brand new person and not you know a murder who doesn’t remember being Dabi. So, Endeavor and Rei are trying everything to try to get him out. They eventually do let him out and give him a robotic arm (because Eri reversing his arm might reverse him back to Dabi) So, he’s under house arrest for about three years (with parol) and he’s just there being happy and adorable and but one day after therapy he has this internal vision where he gets home and Dabi’s there and they talk about hate and this is who you are meant to be and how could you forgive your family all that. Then he goes to his room crying and Endeavor and Rei come banging on his door trying to calm him down and they tell him that he will never see Dabi as long as there with him and they all share a big family hug. @dabislittlemouse thank you for looking at this and giving me your feed back it means a lot 💙🌙

Another week passes by of you and Dabi living together rather peacefully. Over the course of that week, you watch him become a little more interested as the baby kicks, watch him pay a little more attention to you when you’re babbling about baby things. He always keeps himself closed off, but now he does little things to show you he actually cares. It’s simple things, putting away some of the dishes for you, warming a hand on your lower back when it hurts, and the thing that surprised you the most is the way he presses a kiss to your forehead or to your bump. It’s a bit odd to see him do these little things, but they also give you a little peace of mind that he wants to be here.

“Morning, doll.” Dabi grunts, rolling over to look at you with tired eyes.

“Morning, Touya.”

“How’s the baby?” He mumbles sleepily, hand moving to press against your bump.

“She’s fine. She was pretty quiet most of the night.”

He gives a small nod before rolling onto his back and stretching. “Want breakfast?”

"That's fine - I didn't have anything planned for us to do today anyway. Maybe I should go with? I haven't seen Toga since I left and I’ve missed her!”

“Absolutely not.”

“What the hell does that mean?”

“It means you’re not going anywhere near the base.”

“And why not?”

“Because you’re pregnant and I don’t want you or my kid anywhere near that shit or them.”

“I’ll be fine.” You say waving a hand at him dismissively as you take another bite.

“Y/n. It’s dangerous around there. You weren’t the best fighter before and now you really shouldn’t be fighting.”

Finishing off your food, you give him an unamused look. “No one at the base is going to be fighting me. I joined not long after you and Toga.”

“I’m not talking about them. I’m talking about people outside or around it. You know it’s not in a good area and I’m not about to find you laying on the floor beaten to shit again.” he grabs his plate and tosses it into the sink before storming upstairs to get dressed. Walking back down, he looks at you and shakes his head as he walks to the door. “Just don’t do something stupid. It’s different now. If something happens to you, it’s not just you that it happens to.”

Even as annoyance seeps into your bones, you can’t help the way your body slightly deflates at his words. Huffing as the front door closes behind him, you look around your apartment.

“I can do whatever I want. I’m my own person.”

Letting out another little annoyed huff, you move around and clean up the dishes from breakfast and head into the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. Getting dressed, you decide to ignore his words and head down to the base. They’re your friends after all. Pushing the door open, you grin when you find Twice seated at a table.

“Jin!” You shriek as you walk in to smile at him.

Twice whirls around in his seat to look at you. “Y/n! You’re back! You got fat!”

You can’t help but snort at the second part. “Actually, I got pregnant, but thanks for noticing the weight gain.” You can see his face shift into a grin under the mask.

“Whose kid is it?”

“Whose do you think?”

“I always knew Toga would make an amazing father.”

A quiet giggle escapes you. “Yeah, I’m sure she’ll be a fabulous one.”

Spinner kicks open the door and stares at the two of you, his eyes roam down your body and land on your bump. “Oh, now it makes sense. So the reason the two of you disappeared is because he knocked you up?”

“Pretty much.” You say, offering him a small wave.

“You’ll be a good mom. Congrats.”

“Thanks, Spin. I appreciate that - a lot, actually.”

Spinner gives you a nod before disappearing further into the base. Twice offers you a smile and holds out the bag of chips he had sitting next to him. Smiling softly, you take some and munch quietly until you hear footsteps barrelling down the hallway.

“Y/n!” Toga shouts as she turns the corner. “You’re back! I didn’t think you were coming back!”

“I am back! Kind of - I’m not rejoining or anything but I figured I’d stop by for a small visit.”

“You’re pregnant.” She states as she stares at you, eyes eagerly glued to your bump.

“I am. A little over 5 months now.”

“And it’s Dabi’s, right? That’s why he disappeared and has been so crabby lately?”

“Yeah. That’s why he’s been that way. He’s getting better, though. He should calm down soon.”

“Does it kick and move around? Can I feel?”

“It’s a she and, yes, she kicks and moves around. Sure, she usually moves when my belly is touched.”

Toga eagerly bounces over and presses a hand to your belly, shifting from foot to foot eagerly as she waits. Her brow scrunches up as she moves her hand around trying to get the baby to move.

“It’s not doing anything. Why isn’t it doing anything?” She grumbles.

“I don’t know. She always moves when Dabi touches me.” You press a hand to your bump, tapping your fingers softly in an attempt to get her to move around.

A few minutes later, the base door is pushed open and Dabi steps in, freezing when he sees you seated at a table with Toga’s hand pressed to your stomach.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” He growls and storms over pushing Toga’s hand off of you. “Don’t touch my girlfriend.”

“I wanna feel the baby move!” Toga whines.

“No. You’re not allowed to touch her.”

“Dabi, I said it was fine.” You mumble and elbow him softly in the stomach. “She won’t kick for me, though.”

“I don’t want her touching you - she likes blood too much and I don't want her taking the chance to get yours.”

“I don’t want her blood! I just want to feel the baby move!”

“Come on, Dabi, stop being such an ass and help make her move.”

“Why should I?”

“Because I asked you to and I want to feel her move and she only moves for you.”

Behind you, Dabi lets out an annoyed breath. “Fine, but this is the only time you get to touch, understand?”

Toga nods eagerly and bounces over to press her hand against you again. Sighing quietly, Dabi warms a hand and presses it against your bump, moving it around slowly until he feels the baby shift and kick against it.

“There.”

Toga brightens and presses her other hand to it. “It feels so weird.”

Smiling softly, you lean back into his chest. “Thank you. I love getting to feel her kick, but she prefers to kick for you only now.”

“Yeah, sure, welcome.” He watches Toga with an annoyed face. “Can she stop touching you now?”

“Fine. Sorry, Toga, but the baby daddy has spoken and is just a little over protective.”

Toga pouts and pulls her hand away. “Fine.”

“Can we go now?” Dabi asks and taps his fingers on your shoulder.

“Can’t we stay for just a little longer? I want to get out and talk to people I know.”

He lets out an annoyed sigh but nods. “Fine, we can stay a bit longer.”

Dabi begrudgingly hangs out with you, Twice and Toga. After a few hours pass by, he finally convinces you that it’s time to head home. The two of you step out of the base after you wave goodbye to them. Dabi quickly tosses an arm over your shoulders, tugging you into his side as you start the walk home.

“I told you I didn’t want you coming down here.” He grumbles as you walk down the dark streets.

“I know, but they’re my friends and I wanted to see them. You can’t expect me to just hide away in the apartment forever, Touya.”

“It’s dangerous around here sometimes. I don’t want you and the baby getting hurt. I can’t be with you always to make sure that you’re safe.”

“I know that. But I can also take care of myself. When you’re not around and I walk down the main streets, I make sure I’m safe.”

“I’m not letting you get hurt again.”

You stop immediately and turn to him. “You didn’t let me get hurt. That wasn’t your fault. Please stop blaming yourself for that.”

“You weren’t supposed to be alone. I was supposed to be with you that day. But I let you go, letting you wanting me to actually care about you get in the way and you probably would have died that day if I hadn’t found you.”

“Exactly. You found me. You made sure I was okay. We made mistakes that day - it will never be your fault that I got hurt because it was also mine. I knew better than to go out on my own like that. I’m not a fighter, but I let you get to me.”

He stares at you for a moment before deflating slightly with a nod.

“I know you feel like it was your fault and I know there’s part of you that wishes you could change that moment in time but it’s in the past, okay? Please, please, try to stop blaming yourself.” You say one more time, hand touching his chest right over his heart.

“Okay.”

Smiling softly at him, you push up onto your toes and give him a quick kiss before you resume your walk home.

“I still don’t want them touching you.” He grumbles as he tosses his arm over you again.

1. I live in the edt timezone, so, when requesting something make sure it's not from 1:00 am - 4:00 pm edt because I won't be able to see it during that time (unless you're wiling to wait a few extra hours for me to get to your request than it usually takes me).

2. If you request literally anything on my things I won't write for list I will answer your ask as soon as possible like with some way of telling you I won't do that request and depending on how negatively I feel about the ask, if I feel very negatively about it then I'll block you no hesitation, but if I don't feel too bad about it I'll give you another chance to request something else but if you request from the won't write for list again, even just once, I will block you.

3. Whenever I block someone I go on with my day. I don't question my choices so if I block you I'm going to continue with what I was previously doing and won't question if I should unblock you or not.
