WAAGHH THANK YOU!! just got home so i can answer this~

i actually started the video game askblog concept partly inspired by @pkmn-monochrome , but over on @tobaiblog . the blog was also inspired by a dream i had mooonths ago about a video game character that was sentient, hosted on the dark web who had to do anything people put into chat for them to do

but tobaiblog had a loooot of plot behind it the more i worked on it, and i was already workshopping other ideas and playing with other video game genres that could work as an askblog/command blog. i dont remember the full details that lead to tabe4's concept but i was workshipping different ones for a few months. i initially wanted an RPG or DnD lite kind of game, and had a maze concept with some lore and the idea of askers tryna escape a maze was interesting. but the more i worked on it the more the lore got.. complicated.... and the more i worked on tobaiblog, the more i realised the edited sprites were actually not that easy to work with and keep track of all the files, so i wanted something where i could draw the characters freely. (i considered a dating sim/vn genre but didn't get far with that)

i was playing with the idea of a pet sim game after deciding i might not use the maze one yet, but thought that all the care things that came with those games were too much to keep up with through an ask blog so i was like, well what if i focused on the feeding aspect entirely (since submitting food sounds like fun)?

i knew i wanted some dark themes, and i knew that shock/subversion was a popular thing to do with flash games in like early 2000s, 2010s (like Can Your Pet). i also KNEW people would want to submit weird things that could kill them, so i figured encouraging that kind of experimentation could be entertaining. i also thought drawing their reactions to funny food could break too much tension as well, and it had the potential for comedy on top of the dark themes.

after that i went from there with going with 4 diets for difficulty, and getting help from a friend picking the 4 animals for them, plus the name, and then i planned out each screen. i included a diary because i wanted a way for people to actually communicate with the characters, plus if you had opened it when Icey was alive, it could have been shocking to see text from them there already.

TL;DR: I was inspired by @pkmn-monochrome last year to make a sentient video game character blog + from a dream i had abt said character, then got into the idea of making other video game sentient character blogs, and played with the idea of different genres before picking pet sim and reducing it down to a core mechanic that was simple to comprehend and be creative with. i already wanted the opportunity to do creepypasta esque horror with the game so killing them was a no-brainer there~

What’s your OTP for your Muse(s)?

I don’t have fandom OTPs (though I do have ships I favor over others). As such, I don’t have true rp OTPs. I understand this isn’t the norm… my condolences.

To jump on the… no, PULL, the bandwagon, like a mule, I say… *chin-hands* I cherish all the ships you see here, from the familial to the romantic to the sadistic (currently active or not). Since I enjoy a variety of dynamics, I feel very lucky to have the muns and friends who’ve taken the time to write with me, especially over this last year.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

I like to feel things out through the writing and let the ships sail organically and perhaps also majestically along the Aegean... or straight into Charybdis; it depends. When the writing works, I find we’ll inevitably have conversations about where we want to set our sails. When in doubt or with a new mun, I try to follow your lead. Pre-establishing ships are something we have to discuss and plot.

I don’t partake in pregnancy threads, nor do I read them. No exceptions.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

Mun can take or leave age gaps. The muse… In default aus, Modern!/Music!Ben’s around 30-34, and as (self conscious) public figures, I’m not sure either would date under 28. But Music!Ben is Music!Ben. Ex-Con!Ben is 34+ and, at any rate, would much rather any romantic interest be at least around his age.

I move all over Dark!Ren’s timeline. Sometimes he’s he’s a 40-something-year-old cyborg who absorbed all his knights and roams wild space for fresh meat. Sometimes, he’s a deranged 25-year-old still-kind-of-a-kid on a leash holding a bunch of other deranged kids on leashes. His primary interest is the Ren. You do the math.

Are you selective when shipping?

Romance/sensual/sexual: Yes and no. No, because I like to ship. Yes, because consent, communication, compatibility, and chemistry are what make a ship fly. (Quadruplex, bitch!) We’re not getting to That Side of Neverland on nothing but pixie dust. 💅

Familial/platonic: Trick question, we still have to have the four Cs.

As a side note on romantic ships, so long as we keep things PG-13/fade to black, we don’t have to talk all the time or often. We can sail side by side in silence while our muses figure things out.

Friends in the MHA RPC/anyone interested in MHA RP, I have created a server. (Again. Yes. Stop booing me.) Its a multi-universe set up, so its a rp server that contains more than one verse to write in which are all pretty detailed because I am insane. A quick summary of universes contained in the server under the cut !! You should def like this post / DM me if you want an invite and I'll invite you if your muse is open. 🩵

Aside from the obvious canon universe, the AUs in the server currently are : Zombie Apocalypse ! Set before the Paranormal Liberation War, this verse explores an AU where the power struggle between heroes and villains is obliterated by a new and far more terrifying threat to society and human civilization as we know it. Inspired by horror survival series such as Resident Evil, Sweet Home, and Left4dead, this is My Hero Academia meets the Zombie Apocalypse in full form.

Future / Rehab verse ! This is a heavily canon based but AU verse set three years into the future of the current manga. AFO has been defeated, Tomura Shigaraki, Himiko Toga, Dabi and Spinner have all been apprehended, along with a majority of the other villains who participated in the war. They are now participating in a specialized rehabilitation program at the Tamashiro Psychiatric Facility.

Ouroboros / Ultra Rumble ! This verse takes heavy inspiration from sources such as Squid Game, Battle Royale, and MHA's own Ultra Rumble game as the name suggests. Much like the inspo sources, all of our favorite MHA characters have been ported into a strange pocket dimension to interact and sometimes battle for the entertainment of unknown overseers.

Other AUs I might also add include my Hero AU, Fantasy AU and the Furry ass Mafia AU but yeah, SO FAR, beside canon verse, those are the three in the server ATM. >:3

I absolutely love how everyone I see here has stylistic and aesthetic choices that they deliberately and consistently make when they're designing or playing their characters.
