Here's a silly idea I just had because I'm in sleep debt! A Jade siren au where the only on who isn't under his spell of madness is Yuu! I think it would be cute especially since he would probably have a nice singing voice. So the amount of inward cuteness aggression he'll have when a human tells him is insane. Plus I'd like to imagine only sirens are immune to other sirens songs. So bonus points because someone who is unbiased tells him that he has a nice voice. (I like to think Azul made a deal which the twins where they can't use their powers against him and they get something good, idk I haven't thought that far)

He'd be so pissed off that his songs aren't working, he's a SIREN, that's what he's supposed to do!!! What the fuck!! He doesn't realize that Yuu has earbuds in their ears half the time, so they can only here bits and pieces of his singing. It sounds nice, though, and they tell him that.

How he's confused and pissed still about his songs not working on Yuu, and is trying to use other methods to get them in the water so he can personally drown Yuu with his bare hands. Except…he never does the final push. When their feet are in the water, his fins brushing against them, he can't bring himself to drag them down. When they're in their rickety boat, nearly tipping over as they lean down to gleefully talk to him, he can't bring himself to tip it over himself. When they finally get into the water with him, he can't do anything. They're swimming around, wrapping their arms around his shoulders, his happen to wrap around their waist, and they shyly kiss his lips, that's when it clicks.

He may be a siren, but Yuu's managed to bewitch him instead.

did you ever make a post about pete not liking tankhun ? i know you mentioned it a few times in your tags but i don't remember seeing a post. (i share your opin ions.)

I definitely toyed with the idea of meta or a gifset but I didn't ever make a full post! I love unrequited love and I ESPECIALLY love the extremely rare platonic version which Tankhun and Pete absolutely nail in my opinion!

There are loads of moments where Pete's smile drops around Tankhun very quickly, or he insults Tankhun behind his back. Instead of laughing things off like Arm and Pol, he almost has a wincing fear-response to Tankhun, which we don't really see at all from the other bodyguards.

I think that Tankhun likes to think of himself as being close friends with his bodyguards, and he does genuinely show a lot of open affection for Pete and eventually concern for his safety. But I think ultimately for Pete, Tankhun is just a part of Pete's job, and over time resentment has built up until he thinks of Tankhun as one of the *worst* parts of it. I definitely don't think he resents Tankhun enough to hurt or endanger him, but that's about as far as it goes, there's certainly very little love there.

Something about that dynamic is just particularly brilliant, especially when combined with Pete's eventual defection from Tankhun's side to Vegas'. He chooses a man who has beaten and tortured him over a man who showers him in affection and throws parties on his return.

I utterly adore Tankhun but I think as a character that's grown up in a gilded cage, he doesn't really understand that what Pete needs is a sense of his own autonomy rather than being dragged to "fun" "lets cheer up Pete" parties that Tankhun has demanded on his behalf. At least with Vegas he *chose* to go back, he handed Vegas the ropes, let him lock him back up again. Even before he develops feelings for Vegas, Pete has clearly felt like a subhuman pet for Tankhun and the main family for a long, long time and I think ironically Vegas acknowledging Pete's humanity is the tipping point for him.

I think even without their nascent romantic love as a factor, Pete would always choose Vegas. Because despite the threat of suffering, he offers a sense of freedom that Tankhun's gilded cage does not. It all makes for an incredibly interesting betrayal, and makes Pete choosing Vegas over Tankhun all the more pointed. By choosing to be Vegas' pet, he chooses to be human.

Thoughts on Ruggie as a s/o? Cause I can't tell if I'm delusional or not! But like .....he'd be cute in an over caring but trying not to seem over caring way.

He's always helping Leona sure, but every time he sees you he'd make sure you were okay and if you needed anything he's on it! And if you just want to hang out he's sure he can spare a *few* minutes before Leona wakes back up! A few minutes promptly turn into an hour though. Imagine just sitting there with him talking about classes, complaining about teachers (Vargas), and cracking jokes! The way his expression might melt as you talk about something your fixated on. Just like the softest smile as you talk about something dumb Ace, Deuce, and Grim did and how u had to help them once again! And if you call him out about it he might smirk and deny it, or pout and cover his face with his hand while saying it was a trick of the light. Not wanting to look love sick in front of you even though he totally is!!!! Im totally normal about Ruggie and he totally isn't always in my mind!!!

Ruggie would be a very good partner! I think that everyone from the Sunset Savanna (Leona, Ruggie, Rook) would be exceptional partners as they come from a matriarchal society and I imagine such a society emphasizes treating your partner particularly well.

Ruggie wants to come off as an attentive partner that can provide, which tends to be associated as providing monetary. But Ruggie wants to prove that he can be a good partner in other ways, at least until he can get a good job. In reality, his giving love language are acts of service and quality time.

He's always so busy (on that grind), so when he's in love, he's making sure to spare his time for you. He'll sit next to you, on the bench in the courtyard, at the couch in Ramshackle, at Savanaclaw, and spend the time that he could be working with you instead. Similarly, he's going out of his way to do little tasks for you: fixing up the squeaky hinges of your bedroom door, tightening the pipe under the kitchen sink that's been leaking, and other sweet things that you know he had to take time of his day to do. But it's fine, because it's for you and he loves you <3

I know with all my heart that Ken 1000% loves you dearly. Like, he has never been so fully committed about anything since he came out of his box in 1961; I know he feels like his existence was leading up to when he first met you. He is the total definition of a goofy, loyal golden retriever boyfriend. His existence leading up to ME?? is so heartwarming to me since he was made literally For Barbie. to find yourself and forge your own path after you were created to love someone who does not love you back, and on your journey of self discovery you end up choosing to love somebody else who isn't even from the world you were made to be in, and maybe you're afraid that it'll be another scenario like you had with the doll you were Made To Be With -- that maybe this person you're choosing to love... isn't gonna love you back. but they do!!! that person gives you that love back so unconditionally and wholeheartedly!!! I've believed from the very beginning since July 21st that the Barbie movie came out at the perfect time and was crafted in such a perfect way, released on the perfect date, not too soon and not too late, for it to reach me when I needed it the most. For both characters to extend their hands and say the line "we came for you!!" I always get so emotional thinking about it.
