the thought of love was foreign to satoru. he was the one and only famous top-grade sourer! he didn't have time for a relationship. that was until he met you. you worked at a little café shop near jujutsu kaisen high on the weekdays to pay for your college tuition. you've always wanted to open up your own business since you were little — your had your future all planned out, just imagine it, you at the front desk greeting new customers with a big smile, kids giggling and running around the cafe, and your husband right beside you making orders for excited costumers... perfect.

satoru however, didn't know what his future had in store for him, besides the fact that he knew that he would end up dead sooner or later.

on his nightly stroll through the city, he noticed a little coffee shop right by an alleyway where he chased a burglar down once. it was late, and he hadn't eaten all day, why not go in to get a quick bite?

"hello! what can i get you today?" your cheery voice said, looking up at satoru. "uhm...one cappuccino please." satoru's tired voice answered, fighting back the yawn that was hindering in his throat. you nodded, entering the drink in the ipad in front of you.

after a couple of minutes, you arrived with the tasty looking drink, flashing him that same warm smile you gave him when he first arrived. "here you go! enjoy!"

"thanks." he said, making his way towards the front door.

"wait!!" you called out, holding a packaged croissant in your hand. "here!"

satoru turned to face you with a confused look. "i didn't order that"

"i...i know, just take it! it's on the house." you exclaimed, smiling at the white-haired man.

"...thanks." he said again, this time flashing a soft smile in return.

you both knew this wouldn't be the last time out two would meet.

satoru knew how he got when there was alcohol in his system. his mind becomes his mouth, and as soon as he thinks something he blurts it out, no matter how embarrassing it is.

that's why he doesn't drink around people, he says too much. he slurs over his words, every expression he hides comes to view when he's drunk.

so that's why he was hesitant when you asked him to come over to your small apartment christmas night because of the little crush he had gained throughout his years of knowing you, and also because he was currently sitting in his dim living room half-drunk. it was a good thing he didn't drink so much, or he would've called the whole thing off, but he knew how special this time of the year was to you, ever since you two were little you would drag him to all the festive christmas events your town held.

"i don't know y/n..." satoru's nervous, slurred voice peered through the phone. "c'mon, 'toru; it's christmasss!!" your cheery voice pleaded. "and we won't drink that much, trust me!" you heard your best friend let out a soft yet audible sigh. "fine..." he couldn't say no to you now could he?

"great!! see you in 30!!" grinning, you hung up the phone before satoru could answer & minutes later you heard a ring at the door. must be satoru...

satoru heard the quiet taps of footsteps running towards the door. he took a deep, shaky breath, calming his nerves and the little voice in the back of his mind.

should i have come here...?

what if i say to much?

what if i tell her? would she like me back?

this is stupid, i'm acting like a child-

"you okay satoru?" your soft voice called out, waving a hand in front of him to pull him out of his mind and back into the present, back to your beautiful face that he never got tired of seeing. "yeah," he smiled sweetly. "i'm fine."

"well hurry up and get inside, you're gonna get cold!" you chuckled, and satoru's heart skipped a beat. your voice, your laugh- snap out of it dumbass!

he heard a hint of concern in your voice, reaching for your hand that you held out to walk him in. the warmth of your cozy apartment greeted him and gave a welcoming hug. he let out a soft inhale and noticed the small pan of fresh little gingerbread men that smelled like they had just come fresh out of the oven. the soft scent vanilla, chocolate and you filled his nostrils, calming him down as he sat on your soft couch.

he always felt more at home at your place, after a long stressful day you'd see your best friend at the front door looking like he was close to passing out. you'd help him inside, stitch up his open wounds, tell him he's alright, and woo him to bed. you were always there for satoru when he needed a friend.

but things are different now, the love he has for you has grown from more than just a small childhood crush; he's sure he wants to spend the rest of his life with you, his best friend.

but how would you even react to his confession? would you get mad and ghost him? would you nervously laugh and tell him you just want to stay friends? or would you grant him the honor of being his one and only?

that always kept satoru from telling you how he felt, the fear of rejection.

"hey..." satoru's shaky voice called out, eyes meeting yours as you handed him a warm cup of fresh hot chocolate. you tilted your head as to ask what was on his mind and you heard a sigh from him.

you got this gojo, just tell her!

"well uhm...we've been friends for a while now," he paused, looking down at the warm cup of hot chocolate in his hand. "and- god this is stupid."

satoru felt the warms of your body scoot closer to his and his eyes went wide. "you can tell me, what's on your mind?" he slowly nodded and took in your words, moving his hands to cradle your face. he studied your face for a short moment, mesmerized at how beautiful you were.

"i...i think i might be in love with you." he chuckled, baby blue eyes locking with yours. god he was happy to get that off of his chest, 14 years of hiding the "little" crush he had on you.

"oh, i already knew that." you grinned, kissing the tip of his nose and watching the blush that crept onto his already hot face.

the bright light of your alarm read 3 AM when you heard the familiar sound of your phone ringing. you let out a soft, tired groan, rubbing your eyes as you reached your phone to see who was calling you so early in the damn morning.

ellie fucking williams.

you sighed as you glared at your bright phone. ellie doesn’t talk to you much, and you know she only talks to you when she’s high. it’s almost as if she’s unable to talk to you without that little ‘push’.

hesitantly, you answered the call. “y/n…” ellie mumbled, you could tell she was piss drunk, which made you groan.

“can...can you come over..?”

“come over...? ’s three in the morning...” your tired voice snapped back, frustrated at the fact that she even dared to call you in her state.

“please…” ellie begged. “please, i need you.”

she always did this. she'd get in her feelings, drink, and smoke 'till she can't think, call you begging for you to come over so she can get in your pants just to relieve some stress, then disappear by morning time.

“fine...” you reluctantly agreed, hanging up the phone, putting on a sweater, and rushing out of the door and towards her house that was only a couple blocks away.

when you arrived, you noticed her front door was slightly open, a clear sign that she wasn't sober. you walked through the front door, taking a moment to take note of how trashed her home was before making your way up to her bedroom.

as you entered her dimly lit room, you saw her sprawled on her bed in a mess. she was clearly out of her mind; her expression was one of desperation. she looked at you, her dark brown eyes pleaded with you.

"you're out of your fucking mind, els." you spat out, slowly making your way towards her. she let out a dark chuckle, struggling to sit up and collect her thoughts. "don't tell me somethin' i already know."

"we're not fucking again. just to let you know."

"you think i called you just to have sex?"

no answer.

ellie let out sigh, turning her attention to the window that's moonlight softly lit the room, illuminating the two of you. "i...i know i haven't been around much..."

she gestured for you to take a seat next to her on the bed. you took note of the three alcohol bottles and cigarette ashes that messily decorated her floor.

"i really do miss you..." she mumbled, moving towards you to pull you into her embrace. "like a lot..."

"lemme take care of you..."

you looked up at her in confusion. "what...?"

her dilated pupils made their way to yours. "let me show you how sorry i am."

vi sat on the edge of the now blood-stained bed you two shared, wincing as you pressed the warm towel mixed with cleaning alcohol on the wounds that adorned her face.

she had gotten into another fight with some dude that pissed her off, resulting in you cleaning and bandaging her bloody wounds.

"'m fine, cupcake. i’ve been in far worse, ya’ know." she mumbled, looking at you for a split second, setting her warm, bloody hand on your bare thigh.

you sighed, grabbing a bandage wrap. "you can't keep fighting randoms, vi. you could get fucking hurt; or worse...killed." vi knew the consequences of her actions, and she knew you were right. she knew there were people after her, waiting for the right chance to crack her head open.

"'m a big girl. ’m completely fine." vi rolled her eyes. she didn't like when you worried and lectured her. you scoffed; how could she be this calm? "you're saying that, but you won't be able to when you get your ass beat."

"you worry about me too much. ’s kinda sweet." she paused and sighed. "you do realize that i’m more than capable of taking care of myself, right?”"

"i know." you answer simply. "i just don't trust you enough to leave you on your own."

"you make it sound like i’m a child." vi scrunched up her nose, force of habit. "you don't always have to worry about me, i can fight and defend myself."

"sometimes, defending doesn't always equal fighting," you muttered under your breath, making sure you were loud enough for your stubborn girlfriend to hear your words. you grabbed a bottle of half empty alcohol and poured it on vi's open wounds.

"hey-" vi yelped as the liquid hit her wounds. she flinched, her hazel eyes going wide from the brief sting. once it settled down, vi’s soft gaze went back to you. "are you tryna to say i should talk my way out of fights? that's not how it works."

"no, i'm saying you should lay off on the fighting," you pinch the bridge of your nose. "you come home every day with a new wound, it's tiring."

vi shrugged, flashing a big toothy grin at you. "my body is a canvas. ’m simply adding paintings." she reached her hand up, letting it rest near your neck. "you know, for a tough cop, you sure are pretty damn soft."

"'m just worried." you rolled your eyes, flicking her forehead causing your girlfriend to break out in a fit of laughter. "now shut it, 'm not done."
