“Cucurucho give me my enderchest!! You stupid- fluffy monster!! I’m gonna flipping kill you, you took away my memories! You took away the one thing that I had to remember all the eggs who are gone! This is it Cucurucho, this is your final sayonara, you’re going. rip rip potato chip. I will literally sign onto the code thing’s army, it took my son’s (life) from me but you took away my memories- You know what? No! Forget that! I HATE YOU BOTH!
I’m making it my mission. Cucurucho, the code entity, you’re both dead. I’ll take both of you out, I’ll kill both of you. This is how I solve my problems! I solve my problems with death- cause I’m the flipping grim reaper-!”
I just had to transcript q!Bad’s huge rant at the end of stream it was so funny and also pretty darn good to contextualize his character more

Don't mind me, just blasting "Accidentally in Love" by Counting Crows while looking through Puss in Boots tag and crying at how beautifully written Puss and Kitty's romance is!
Favorite line:
These lines of lighting mean we're never alone! Never alone!
Favorite scene:
If you don't understand how this moment is considered romantic, watch the film until you do!

i feel like in the early seasons rimmer and lister's animosity towards each other is more pronounced because the reality that they're never going back to earth hadn't set in yet. they were still holding on to the hope that they'd get out of the whole "stranded in deep space" situation Somehow and would never have to see their annoying colleague again, instead of acknowledging it as the huge & permanent change to their lives that it actually was. maturing + mellowing with age and having no one else to hang out with (besides kryten and cat) for decades definitely helped to turn the hatred into a genuine if reluctant friendship but im still convinced that them accepting the hand they were dealt in regard to the big picture played a huge part in solidifying their relationship

You know, episodes-wise, Egon's Ghost and The Boogeyman is Back, aren't that far away from each other (Season 2, episode 60, and Season 3 episode 3. about 8 episodes apart)
Can you imagine almost/kinda dying and ending up in the Netherworld (not to be confused with the Netherlands), and then, like, a few months later, almost dying again?
No wonder Egon was so terrified it brought the Boogeyman back. Sure they risk their lives each day but those were two incidences where death was very real for him, and they weren't too far away from each other

So much of the "bad" behaviour in ofmd are trauma responses and i love that they show how yeah sometimes we dont respond in the most healthy of ways, we fuck up and we hurt those closest to us, but we still deserve love and kindness at the end of the day
Just so important to me

Since Ginga's a little topic right now I do just want to be clear it was like, incredibly formative to my personality and remains one of my favorite action animes. If I speak harshly about it, it's entirely because I have such a personal affection for it.

While I 100% agree that if people aren't having fun they should take a step back/quit, I don't like the "if you're not having fun just go find another game" argument because it's so often used to shut down actual legitimate criticism from people who are otherwise enjoying the game but want genuine problems to be addressed. (I've seen it, for example, when people try to bring up bigotry in games and suggest maybe making some changes to remove it. I always get wary when I see people say it now.)
Oh yeah absolutely. There's real criticism that we have to be able to point out and discuss. A lot of the times people use this for any minor criticism someone has and I agree, that's often a way to shut down the conversation. Criticism in general is supposed to come from a place of love: you love something and you want to see it be better.
Unfortunately, in this case, when the community turns into ONLY negativity and criticism, it's kinda hard to believe they care about the game anymore. If people still had some positive stuff to engage with and were enjoying the game but had issues, then sure. But most of the negativity online right now is just purely rage bait. Bungie apparently has no redeeming qualities, and Destiny is dead. Misinformation is spreading about everything: all devs abandoned Destiny to work on Marathon (claim with no source that's accepted as fact and makes no sense: Destiny is the only game making them money, they can't abandon it before Marathon is out. Like, logically), monetisation is the worst in the industry (I genuinely don't believe that they play other games if they think that Destiny's monetisation is the worst in the industry), Bungie is maliciously banning people for fun (????) but also Bungie isn't banning people enough, Bungie is maliciously making server issues and didn't develop a "fix server" button in their office, game development is easy and Bungie is just lazy and the devs don't want to tell us anything because they're evil, Destiny is falling apart and nobody is playing anymore (just trust me bro), and most recent one which is possibly the most baffling of all - Bungie Foundation is a scam to write off taxes. Yes, that is currently discourse (which apparently gets recycled every year). Bungie Foundation, a charity organisation that's been going on for 13 years and is an independent registered organisation, is a scam. This is where we're at with the community mentality. And there's even more.
When we're at this point, it's truly something else. Like, if they believe conspiracy theories about Bungie and think Bungie is scamming them, maybe they just shouldn't play the game anymore. Why are they still here if they think this is all a scam? I would drop the game if I believed any of this so strongly.
Normal people having criticism and all is perfectly fine however! I did my fair share especially recently about the season pass pricing changes which I called a predatory practice and still believe it is. There's a lot more stuff to complain about while still enjoying the game and not basing your entire online existence and personality on hating Bungie. If they've got nothing else to do besides sitting on twitter shitting on Bungie, maybe it's time to move on.
I've also had my suspicions about the motives for hardcore Bungie hate after the incidents involving transphobic attacks on Bungie devs following the LF showcase, as well as all the crap about Nimbus and their VA. Given the recent developments about the general anti-LGBT+ mentality, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a contingent of people who are focusing on Bungie more than anyone else for how outspoken they are in their support for LGBT+ causes. Like, not to do some big reach or something but it's fairly curious that gamers online are adopting the anti-LGBT+ sentiments while Bungie is aggressively supportive. It just rubs me the wrong way that the one company that's committed to this and has been for years before most other companies jumped on the bandwagon is the one that they're choosing to paint as the worst villain. And the LGBT+ support isn't even all, as Bungie has other initiatives where they actively support women's right, reproductive rights, poc rights, disability rights and so on). I don't know, I've been a part of the gaming community for a long time and while there's been massive changes since the early days (and since gamergate days), the issues of bigotry in gaming remain. It feels particularly suspicious to, out of ALL companies, single out Bungie which invests in charities and progressive causes. Like, in the grand scheme of things, every corpo is robbing me blind, I know that, I have to give money to corpos to live on this Earth, so I at least want to give it to a corpo that considers me to be a human being and funds causes that promote my rights, instead of wanting me dead.
Ironically, all of this weird hate makes it harder to have actual normal criticism. It just gets drowned and lost in the sea of exaggerated bullshit and lies and conspiracies perpetuated by people who just don't seem to like the game anymore. At the end of the day, it's a video game. Whatever criticism we have, if it gets to the point where we just can't handle the state of the game, the best way to show it is to simply stop playing. A deluge of harassment on twitter will not bring about meaningful change nor will it adequately convey our criticism to anyone. If they truly want some changes, they would do this criticism in a way that matters, instead of creating a horde of angry gamers who will latch onto every lie and create a hate bandwagon.

Jango Fett Open Seasons: Retreat vs. fight no matter the cost
Another detail from Jango Fett: Open Seasons that I find very telling about characters is their approach to retreat. I’m specifically want to talk about the four major Mandalorians - Tor Vizsla, Jaster Mereel, Jango Fett and Montross as they all were at some point in the story put in situation when they needed to decide to continue fight no matter the cost (in theory the ideal Mandalorian warrior mindset) or to prioritizing their people’s life (a choice testifying to good leadership). And yes, those situations weren’t always exactly the same yet similar enough to see the implied(?) similarities in theoretical dissimilar characters.
So we have Jaster Mereel, the original leader of True Mandalorians. During a mission on Korda Six, when Mandalorians came across the enemy's heavy fire (and Jango ordered his people to find cover), Jaster gave an order to regroup at Jango’s location - the safest place and abort the air strike.
And once it became clear, they made a mistake to rely on second-handed intel - but before they learned it was Death Watch's trap - Jaster decided to abort the whole mission. Something quite different from what Jango will teach his son decades later (“Your loyalty, your honor – these are the things that matter. When you accept a mission, when you give your word, it is all that matters.”)
Montross however refused to regroup at Jango's location
and continued the attack, stating "we've never abandoned a mission!"
Montross survived thanks to Jaster who personally came to his aid only to betray his leader and leave him behind once Tor showed up. And while he tried to take command of True Mandalorians, he did order an evacuation, as the "Jaster's last order still stands" argument.
Then we have Tor Vizsla who during Jango’s attack on Death Watch’s ship, ordered everyone to evacuate.
And now, let’s talk about Jango Fett who started very much minded like Jaster, what was the best visible on Korda Six. The mission was his first official role as Squad Commander but he didn’t allow pride or desire to make Jaster proud to take over common sense. When it became clear his men were under too strong enemy’s fire, he ordered them to get into trenches / find cover.
However on Galidraan, as a leader of True Mandalorians, when he already knew they walked again into Death Watch’s trap, instead of de-escalate threat of the Jedi by at least trying calm down the situation and presenting what is going on behind the scene- and mind you, the Jedi did not have all facts but Fett already met Vizla at Governor's residence and as he wore helmet at that time, most likely had recorded this, not to mention all Mandalorians could present what they were doing and where they were via the recording from helmets - Fett ordered to open fire. And the Jedi naturally responded as such.
(And really, if Fett was smarter he could at least try to turn Jedi against Death Watch).
This is even more surprising choice as Jango's first reaction upon seeing Republic shuttles before even meeting eye to eye with Jedi was to call his second-in-command to order an evacuation.
Which is pretty ironic, that both Jaster and Tor, despite their ideological differences, were at some point shown to prioritizing their men’s safety by ordering retreat / evacuation, while Jango started as similar minded (Korda Six and upon seeing Republic shuttles on Galidraan) but once Jedi showed up, his attitude changed into “no running, fight whatever the cost” which not only led to great tragedy but made him more like Montross.

It’s all the performative bullshit that kills me about society y’all get off from tormenting people who you scapegoat. The people you’ve decided are irredeemable. So many People take joy in stripping other people of dignity. So many people caught up in the endless cycle of revenge because of how tempting it is. Meaning there’s still not enough people who care enough about reducing harm on a wider scale. About protecting those we have left to face their hardships alone.

Picture this—
In S2, when Stede and Ed make it back to each other, it’s in the heat of battle. Take your pick on who that might be, the English, the Spanish, some young pirate ready to prove themselves and dethrone the great Blackbeard, the Red Flag Fleet, whatever. But the Revenge is overrun and Ed is in just a little over his head.
Stede rolls up in his little dinghy with the rest of the crew of the Revenge. Ed sees him and is distracted just long enough to be stabbed— right when they lock eyes. Luckily they miss the important bits, but Ed goes down
Ed wakes up back in the Captain’s quarters, but this time he’s the one lying in bed post-stabbing with Stede standing over him, worried sick.
Instead of talking it out, Ed insists that the their crew is in danger and they have to go. They go back above deck and fight off their assailants together. Is it a heartfelt reconciliation or a clearing of the misunderstandings? No, but for right now, to fight side by side is enough

I think another reason I don't like the concept of the Snow White (2024) is that Snow White did try and save herself. She wasn't helpless like they're making her seem. She ran away from that castle, and she made that choice to save her life. That is a choice that takes so many abuse victims years to take. She wasn't stupid or weak or anything, she just needed help that one time. It's okay to need help during a situation like this. It's not sexist, it's being human. Girls shouldn't feel like they need to be badass and independent all the time, like obv they can save themselves as well, but I feel like by erasing that part of Snow White's story they might as well just create a whole new concept.
