i feel like dick's "no-kill rule" could have so many different interpretations because of contrasting characterisations upon his many years of comics where people could argue that he has taken in bruce's "no-kill rule" for himself due to his intense loyalty to bruce but when it comes down to his own thoughts and feelings, he can, will, and has killed or that he also has his own deep devotion to that "no-kill rule" (because of his own backstory or because of bruce) and he would never kill, and both would be correct.

#dick grayson #i forgot who said it best but #i think bruce's no kill rule comes from his optimism of redemption #while dick's no-kill rule is out of his intense loyalty to bruce #but he has bent that enough or has shown enough doubt in it over the years that #while i think he does BELIEVE in it #there are some circumstances where he would #i mean bruce snaps and tries to kill someone and we get a 100pg hamlet esque monologue about the evils of killing #dick snaps and tries to kill someone and aside from joker and blockbuster he kind of goes about his day #i think people inherently focus in on his reactions to joker and blockbuster because apparently those are THE dick killing storylines #but i think about dick!bats when ollie is going on his sabbatical to kill the guy who ended up killing lian #and he's just like 'i get it'#also more dick!bats when he's like 'WE SHOULD HAVE KILLED YOU A LONG TIME AGO' @ slade #or when he killed a man via lightning strike to save a baby without hesitation or angst #or when the wildebeests kidnapped the titans dick threw himself at them like I'LL KILL YOU #or when --#(yeah there's a lot)#now obviously in some parts this was out of a place of anger and grief #... but not dick killing a man via lightning strike #that was just 'you're about to kill a baby? gotcha' and BOOM #yes i've been trying to compile and make a meta about this for years #but i've been so lazy about it LMAO

I’m about a hundred pages into Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros and i am really interested in how things are gonna go

#fourth wing #tbh with some bits at the very beginning it felt a tad convenient or forced #but now that everything has been pretty much set up im having trouble setting the book down #which is crazy for me rn since lately ive been struggling to read at all #im surprised im even at 100+ pgs already today since ive mainly read during the time ive been awake #but yea i think the quote on the front saying this book is addicting is correct #not sure when i’ll finish this book but i know i gotta soon since its turned into the family book club book #aaaaannnyways i just needed to get my thoughts out to the void #and if saying im a little over 100pgs in isnt enough detail for those who want to know where im at #sorrengail just made it through a month of sparring by poisoning her opponents #and now is about to spar with xaden #hopefully thats vague enough to not be a spoiler but enough to be known for anyone who’s read it already #🤷

Nico Hischier/Jonas Siegenthaler (Hockey RPF). They're married. (Timo Meier can come too if he wants but it's the Nico/Jonas that really gets me.) The important part is it's king & lionheart but they both think they're the lionheart. Nico and his big big heart and Jonas and his quiet, stalwart devotion. I hope they are having the sexiest time training in the Swiss Alps.

Nick Suzuki/Cole Caufield (Hockey RPF). This is also king & lionheart except Nick KNOWS he's the king and Cole KNOWS he's the lionheart. It's abt how the foundation of Nick's feelings is the joy he finds in Cole and the foundation of Cole's feelings is the trust he finds in Nick. Also bc someone put the It's Cole! tiktok on my dash again and I've been laughing all day. Congrats on the 8 years king.

Dana Scully/Monica Reyes (The X-Files). I was just thinking abt them. My queer moms who quite literally raised me bc the first fanfic I ever read that wasn't cishet fic was Scully/Reyes and it rewired my entire brain. WAIT SO WOMEN CAN FALL IN LOVE TOO 🤨🤨 I said at the tender age of uhhh probably 11 and thus began a journey that has continued well into the rest of my life. This is only not an otp bc I sometimes fall victim Mulder/Scully for nostalgic reasons.

Ack-Ack/Hillbilly (The Pacific). I was thinking abt them recently too, do not know why. Technically an otp except I sometimes forget they exist. Literally like...those are two dads. Those are two dads who in another life retired early from the USMC to live on a peach orchard in Virginia and work as national park rangers and drink coffee in the mornings on their porch after their morning run. I can't talk anymore about them or I will go crazy.

Tony Kemp/Mike Yastrzemski (Baseball RPF). A couple nights ago I was like I wonder if Yas will opt out of Pride gear (I have anxiety bc he is a nepo baby) and then I was like well he can opt out of Pride gear but he can't opt out of having a committed and intense longtime friendship with Tony Kemp nor can he opt out of having at one point knelt for the anthem. So. Regardless of if he wishes to be associated with us, we have already read him as an ally. Also he probably kissed Tony on the mouth like, at least once.
