The wound on his hand was healing well, scar tissue knitting his palm together. Despite all of the jobs he had taken recently, Madara had only sustained minor injuries. At least, minor injuries that drew blood. His body was sore all over but he had to push through it. Couldn't have all of ES gossiping about him like that if he could help it.

Madara runs his hand under some water in the communal kitchen sink. If anyone asked, he could say a knife slipped while cooking or something. Not entirely believable for him but better than the alternative.

He hears a familiar voice humming down the hall, lighter than air as a melody is born in the moment to his favorite musical genius. Madara smiles and turns off the water, running to catch Leo in a hug before the other boy could surprise him.

"Mikejimama! I'm back in Japan!" Leo hugs him back enthusiastically. It had been a few months since the two had seen each other, what with Madara's odd jobs and Leo living in Italy with Izumi most of the year.

"Leo-san!" Madara doesn't have the words to tell Leo how happy he is to see his boyfriend.

They pull away, Leo's eyes shining as he starts telling Madara about his life in Italy, the types of people he works with and all of the food (he insists that Madara should come with them next time so they can try out these cafes near their apartment together). Madara nods along, soaking in all of Leo's voice for safe keeping.

At some point, Madara finds himself bringing up a hand to brush aside Leo's hair from his face and Leo's eyes seem to trace the movement. His face falls and Madara realizes its the hand with the fresh scar.

"You're taking care of yourself right, Mama?" Leo brings his own hand up to Madara's, thumb tracing over the scar.

"Of course, Leo-san. I just cut myself while cooking last week. Don't worry about it." The lie slips from him easily, but neither of them buy it. Leo doesn't push, he never does (but maybe he should, someday, when they're safe and thousands of miles from here. Madara wants him to push for truth), but he brings Madara's palm to his lips, leaving a gentle kiss, and another and another, until Madara is laughing and Leo follows suit.

Madara pulls Leo in for a gentle kiss on the lips, still laughing, still smiling.

#999 spoilers #art summary #art summery 2023 #my art #shoutout to all my monster high drawings that are still in the oven #I haven't posted them anywhere but! my friends made them pins and I've sold them on cons throughout the year :3 #I only started drawing them as a request from a boothmate actually and they're such fun designs to draw!!!#I went to a lot of local conventions to participate in the artist's alley and made so many friends that way it was wonderful #I think the next thing I'll reblog will be the game I worked on!#found out the nda doesn't cover me simply saying 'hey I worked on this thing coming out in a few months!'#so I made artist and cosplayer friends selling my art on the beach and I got my first proper job #....then I proceeded to give me a shoulder inflammation because my setup was terrible and it had to catch up to me eventually #but! already managed to get a new tablet and desk for myself!! it's even a screen tablet so there'll be a learning curve but I'm excited #I'm hoping this display will make things easier I always had trouble sketching on digital #and I am more carefully taking breaks now also because turns out relying on hiperfocus is bad for you? never knew #I was going through some stuff in the middle of the year there though I had so many vent drawings of akane from may to october qwq #not featured here are the tons of utena and umineko wips I have accumulated those were my favorite new media I got to experience for sure #in fact I'm watching the adolescence movie rn!! what in tarnation is this last act lol whatever! go Anthy go!!! floor it queen #also not featured the tons of oc stuff I made :D I'm glad I feel like I can start properly working on them soon ^^#but yeah that's that I felt like writing a whole diary entry in these tags and you read it and that's what tumblrs all about ♡♥︎

How are anons just able to ask you if you're okay with drawing something, that's so bold. I always think about it when I see others doing it, but like. I never know how many asks someone is getting, or how the request lined up with the artists interest/what time it was sent, some secret third thing I'm unaware of so I can never bring myself to unless "accepting requests" is written somewhere, lol. It's okay, one day I will find someone willing to draw Dad Lance for Leaf, we'll see it for Red, Green, even Lillie but rip, my girl. god forbid girls get to be traumatized or stupid kids in need of a good adult figure in their lives instead of a perfect little bubbly princess or shallow girl boss. I am alone on my island…Anyhow. Sorry, I hardly find blogs to talk to, not active in the pkmn side at all much less tumblr itself. I am Definitely Seeing your art and this wasn't just a needless babble, it's so great to see love for the Champions they are SO silly and cute and the art is so sweet just the them together and I love the stupid little hair fringe you gave Lance (affectionate) and moooood Cynthia, taking the heels off bc feet go owchie. I felt that. Gosh, you really captured that silly formal event chilling with friends when all of you want to get away to your own little corner, the anon was RIGHT. You have some serious talent for capturing characterization in such subtle but striking ways, they feel so alive. I'm loveeeee.

edit: omgg for the first time in several months, i actually have a slight surplus in total edits. i've been scraping by for literally all of the summer, but maybe i can finally get a decent backlog again :D

Their blade drawn, he saw in them a look he remembered only from his past. He drew back, hoping beyond hope that those red eyes, familiar as a buttercup, were not the same he remembered.

“You and me... best friends ‘til the end! You wouldn’t... hurt me... right?”

“You failed.”

He tried to push his fear aside with a laugh. An uncertaintity, a prayer for mercy.

“Failed what, Frisk? I failed to beat you, yeah, but you got to the surface... didn’tcha?”

A shake of their head, a cautious glance behind himself.

“You failed, Azzy. You failed our mission.”

He tried to remove himself from inside his potted soil, tried to flee, tried to run.

But he couldn’t.

“Ch...chara,” he tried, one last time, if only to fail.

“Azzy... You shouldn’t be here.”

He was uprooted, a petal squished under their merciless care. A thorn had pierced their skin, but they paid it no mind in their efforts to destroy him.

“I made that sacrifice so you wouldn’t have to! And look where it got both of us. Stuck in bodies that aren’t ours, caught up in a life that isn’t ours.”

He tried to avoid their piercing gaze, but they forced his eyes on them nonetheless.

“So now, I’m going to sacrifice you.”

They laughed. The cold laugh of a madman.

“You hear me, you stupid plant?! I’m going to sacrifice you to this mountain, so you know how it feels! Don’t even bother with the cave exit, it’s avalanched. And once you’re down there, I’ll make sure this crumbles too. So you can feel my pain, good and proper.”

He shook his head, trying to grab onto something, trying to stop this, trying to do something.

But he couldn’t.

He
