The original book is a short read, easy to condense into a one month substack, and includes 100% canon things like

I can't believe I have to make a post about plagiarism

I write for @thirstyandbeautiful

At the beginning of December, an anon reached out to me with a link to @jkeey4-main / @jkeey4 's page to warn me that she was literally copy and pasting from my fics to pass as her own.

I reached out and kindly requested that she remove all trace of my work from her own. I did not ask her to delete the fics, just edit them so they weren't word for word my own. I was beyond patient and gave her over a month to correct her work and come up with her own original scenes and dialogue, etc. I wrongfully assumed that if I showed a bit of grace, this problem would fix itself.

But it didn't.

This is just one pair of screenshots that were taken yesterday after she told me she'd edited everything and there was no trace of my work left on her page:

Since she refuses to fix her page, I've decided to broadcast it: If you're reading any fics from this page, I guarantee you that it's been copied and pasted from this F1 page.

Don't plagiarize and steal someone's work. If you need to copy and paste someone else's work to pass as your own, you're not a writer and shouldn't claim to be one.

Pride Month Patch Tutorial: Pronoun Text

This year I’ve created five cross-stitch patterns designed for use with a variety of LGBTQIA+ pride flags, including the trans, genderqueer, non-binary, agender and demigender flags.

Each pronoun pattern is available in three scale variants: he/him, she/her, they/them, it/its and ze/hir. With the use of my cross-stitch alphabets, however, they can be adapted and modified for any pronoun set expressible in the Roman alphabet possessing a three, four, five, six, seven, ten or twelve-striped flag.

This tutorial includes sixteen cross-stitch text charts/patterns plus a guide to adapting said patterns for other pronoun sets.

I have more free queer cross-stitch tutorials and patterns available, including "pride" text patches, flag stripe hearts and "queer" text patches designed for a-spec pride flags. Other LGBTQIA+ text patterns are available at my pattern gallery, for folks who want to go all out in declaring our existence.

Cushion mending

I recently part-way mended my special cushion that I have since I was quite young (don’t remember exactly how old, but have sleep with it under big pillow for a LONG time). I also put it under my knees in my swing, so it is squished into a weird shape from that, and also have big holes where I rub my hands as a stim, and where the fabric just get so thin over time and wear down. I struggle to describe my process so I will let the images and image descriptions speak for themselves!

Next step:

I did finish unpicking the white stitching, but that is where I got to with the mending so far. I plan to do more securing on the outside, and reinforce the fabric where it is thin and fragile. I also might do some embroidery to “fill in” the gaps for the patterns. And I will redo the white stitching, but I want to add an extra layer on the entire inside of the cushion, because even at the back part it is thin and I worry that it will just fall apart. And it is very special so I will be devastated if that happens.

More updates will come when I manage more sewing! I have more things to mend, too, like Marmalade’s dress (Marmalade is my beloved teddy bear that is older than me and I have since birth), and my special safe grey hoodie that I wear almost 24/7 (really, that much, even to sleep!).

Fixed a couple of holes in my frog jumper. No idea if i did the technique properly bc i couldnt find a tutorial anywhere but i think they turned out quite nice for completely winging it

i know everybody likes to make fun of the dog world by comparing it to the "chill" cat world but like. purebred cat people are not ANY more chill than purebred dog folk and new cat breeds are just as susceptible to damaging inbreeding/low population size and breeding of unhealthy traits than dogs, sometimes i think perhaps more.

pros: have had my hours cut recently so it would be some hours that i don't have; it's a weekend shift so good tips; work with my favorite coworker

cons: have to go to work & i am tired and in pain and don't want to go to work ever again; sunday shift so i have to deal with the unbearably rude post-church crowd; also work with my least favorite worker
