I’m gonna start talking more about my Chonny’s Charming Chaos Compendium Hellenic Mythos AU here more because it’s been rotating around my brain. I have a couple of different variations of it so here we go!
Primordial Force Ver: Heart is Selene, Mind is Helios, Soul is either Gaia or Eos, Whole is Chaos. Yes I know that Selene/Helios/Eos aren’t technically considered primordials (they’re considered titans) but Primordial Force sounds better than Titan Force. A solar eclipse is the equivalent to The Shot. Heart/Selene is envious of Mind/Helios because he can shine his own light, while Selene’s light is only a reflection of Helios’s. Mind/Helios is envious of Soul/Gaia/Eos because he can foster living organisms, while Helios is obviously uninhabitable. Soul/Gaia/Eos is envious of Heart/Selene because he wants to be the source of artistic inspiration and appreciated like Selene is. Furthermore, Soul is really pissed at Heart and Mind for the whole eclipse thing because it could’ve blinded some of the earth’s humans, which Soul holds very dear to him. He threatens them, saying if this continues, he’ll give their titles of “Sun/Moon deity” to Apollo and Artemis. More chaos ensues.
Trojan War Ver: Heart takes the place of Hector, Mind takes the place of Achilles, Soul takes the place of Helen, and Whole takes the place of Zeus. Rather than the war starting because of Helen getting kidnapped/running off to Troy (the myth varies depending on who you ask), the war starts because both the Trojans (Heart/Hector) and the Achaeans (Mind/Achilles) want Helen’s favor, as she’s a daughter of Zeus and therefore very powerful and influential. Neither Heart nor Mind started or wanted to be in the war, but by the gods will they finish it. The equivalent to The Shot in this au is Hector killing Patroclus disguised as Achilles. Despite the war that rages on, Soul/Helen is keen on not being controlled by either side, and will end things by force if not listened to. After all, her creator is the king of the gods.
Judgement of Paris Ver: Unlike the other ones, this one is not directly putting HMSW into a Greek myth, but rather taking inspo off a Greek myth and running with it. So therefore, this au takes place in modern times, unlike the other ones which are set in Ancient Greece/Troy. Paris (Whole) is forced to live his life constantly suffering from the brutal arguing of Aphrodite (Heart), Athena (Mind), and Hera (Soul). Each of the three are fighting for control over Paris’s psyche, each of them trying to push Paris into doing their bidding, trying to convince him with argument fueled by pathos/logos/ethos. Idk I haven’t thought this one through much.
Lmk if there’s already existing Hellenic Mythology aus bc I’m not aware of any but I’d love to see some if there are! Also you totally wanna send me asks about these aus

Apple of my eyes - God of War

Idk which part will have a weird grammar but you know what? I’ll take a risk XD
I don’t have Ao3 account yet, so I’ll just post on here first. Enjoy!

“Shall we go out tomorrow?”
Kratos, who was sewing a sack, looked up at the owner of the voice.
Faye was sitting opposite him, looking out the window. The two were resting in a hut they had built a few years ago. The firelight illuminated her orange hair and blue eyes.
“The snow has melted. I wanna pick some fruit near the Lower Wildwoods.” Faye spoke again, after looking out of the window for a while, she turned her head to look at him. Midgard has been buried in winter for the past several weeks. Although there is rarely a heavy storm this time, they both started to feel relieved (Especially Faye) when this gloomy weather finally ended.
“What fruit are you going to collect?” Kratos asked.
“Apples, and checking around there to see if there is any problem. I hope no more trolls come in.” Faye replied.
“Hm” Kratos hum softly.
The woman turned to look outside the window again and sighed.
“By the way, I haven't eaten an apple for a while. Miss the sweet taste of it already.” She smiled at the thought of the fruit.
Kratos didn't answer. His amber eyes still looked at her. Every time he saw Faye smiling or laughing his heart always swelled up. He looked at her for a moment before hurriedly pulling himself back down and continuing to sew the sack. He decided to continue the conversation.
“Speaking of apples… There are stories about apples in my land.”
Faye turned to look again with interest. Kratos continued
“It was The Golden Apple. The legendary fruit that caused the fight between the goddesses until the prince of Troy had to choose who is the fairest one. After deciding the winner, that triggered a war between cities.”
“That…sounds like a mess.” Faye said
Kratos nodded in agreement
“Besides that. People believe that apples represent love. If they like someone, they will throw it to that person as a sign of love.”
“They’re really flirting like that?” Faye asked, sounds surprised
“Yes”
“That’s adorable”
“Hm” Kratos often grunted as the two talked. Sometimes Faye finds it amusing.
“Well, we have a story about the Golden Apples in this land too but mine is now boring when compared to yours” Faye chuckled.
“And what about yours, Faye?” Kratos asked
“Nothing’s very big” She shrugged
“You are good at telling stories. Listening to your voice would help me concentrate on repairing this”
Faye smiled softly
“Alright, Grumbles”
They sat there, telling their story and talking until the sun almost went down.
----
In the next morning, they both went to the Lower Wildwoods. After checking that there are no intruders. Both of them took a boat to another place which is not very far away. They arrived at the dock for a short time.
“Are you certain there will be apples to pick today?” Kratos asked as the boat docked. Faye nodded confidently.
“I've been here many times. Of course there must be.” She picked up the basket and walked onto the deck and led him to the forest.
After a long winter, the forest that had been covered with white snow began to change. The white of the birch trunks contrasts with the warm orange sun and the slightly snowy ground. From a cold wind to a light breeze. Since Faye loved this atmosphere, it was easy for him to notice because she looked energetic right now.
They walked for a while until they reached the destination. Most of the trees in this forest were birch or fir, but here there were a few apple trees. Each tree has a big red apple. hanging on many branches. Faye reached out and pulled an apple to inspect its condition before nodding and showing Kratos the fruit in his hand.
“Looking good!” she said happily.
Kratos grunt in replied
“Pick at least five of them, alright? This will be our dinner.”
Faye put the first apple in the basket before turning around and continuing to look for more apples. Kratos helped find them too. He stared for a moment before pulling out one apple to take a look. This one seems good enough to keep
Kratos turned to Faye but instead called her. He stopped
With an apple in his hand, He wanted to try it but hesitated a little…he hadn't flirted with anyone for decades. After all, this land was not Greece, might this action seem too strange for her?
…But then he chose to try.
“Faye”
“Yes?”
The moment Faye turned around, a big apple flew toward her.
“!!!!”
She managed to catch the apple.
Faye looked at the fruit in her hand, confused before looking up at the man standing before her.
Kratos's face, from where his eyebrows were frowned all the time, now had both eyebrows slightly raised, as if he looked relieved.
“You threw it to me?” Faye asked.
“...Yes,” he replied, she could feel a tiny shyness in his voice.
“You don’t have to throw like that. It might-” Faye stopped because she realized something.
“Apples represent love. If they like someone, they will throw it to that person as a sign of love.”
Wait, is that mean...
Faye looked at the apple and looked at him again before burst out laughing. He actually was flirting with her!
“You!” Faye exclaimed. Her face turned red as she laughed.
“I just… wanted to try.” Kratos said..
When Faye stopped laughing Kratos approached and slowly raised one of his hands to touch her hand that was holding the apple, but didn't say anything.
“Kratos?”
“I am sorry, I had startled you,” Kratos said softly. Faye sighed.
“You don't have to apologize.” Faye replied, still smiling.
“I forgot to tell you that if the other person can catch the apple, it means that they had accepted the love confession”
“And I caught it”
"Yes"
Suddenly, Faye leaned forward and kissed him. His amber eyes widened. For a quick moment, their lips parted.
“I like it” she whispered. His pale cheeks slowly turned red. Even though this was a short kiss, he could still feel the other's soft lips.
“You caught well” Kratos complimented.
“If the mighty warrior gets hit in the face with an apple, it would be very embarrassing, wouldn't it?” Faye teased.
Kratos chuckled lightly. This rare reaction made her smiled more brightly.
"Thank you for the apple, Kratos. This one is beautiful."
“Hm”
At this moment, the sunlight shone on the woman's face, brightening her orange hair and eyes as blue as the sea. Her flushed cheeks made her look more beautiful than the apple in her hand.
The former god of war's heart swelled again.
When the evening came, they both ate the apple together. It was just as sweet as Faye said.

Just rewatched TCBoB! Thoughts below cut
"Spotlight up on an actual teenage boy"
I love MC, he's trying so hard, he's so hyper and excited
And Honk
"we hooked up last summer but who didn't"
Love the small details of these characters, stuff that isn't super important the story but is still mentioned. Like ofc Cole being trans and Eric and Cole having divorced parents.
"and my estrogen pills"
"this is Bethanne, she's... This is Bethanne!"
MC's freak out is so great and and funny
Oh also love that anime maniacs is one of the groups in the song
"especially to be here with my fellow seniors!... Who are no longer listening to me..."
"we hooked up last summer but who didn't"
Eric looks at Max's ass
Wtf is Eric doing while Kris and Max are talking
The Vomsquad™
"any choice is better that no choice except a bad choice"
"don't try to blackmail the casting guy.. not that I've tried"
I fucking love Max bursting out into song ready to go not realizing he was supposed to go into the theatre
"heres the thing about acting Mark" "Max"
*comes in dancing* "biffed it! :)" *clapping*
Hngg poor Bethanne I love her so much and I relate to her so much too
"pretend your Magic Mike and let your dangler swim free"
I fucking love the dance call, watching everyone mess up in their own way
"ooww my ankle" "your fine."
"I don't wanna step on anyones toes but this is kinda borning now" I literally gasped the first time I saw that part, especially bc I had just been talking about the Starship rehearsal story early
Love, Eric always hiding his emotions, love Chill, love Chill going from "I stay chill when I'm nervous about theatre" to "I hide my emotions when my parents get divorced"
"Max I hope you learn to love yourself! :). Go goats!!"
"THAT'S ABSOLUTELY A FUCKING LIIEEE"
"I don't wanna be one of those characters that disappears and you don't see for the rest of the act" seriously 10/10 joke
Body Language > I Don't Dance
Body Language is a song that you really do just wanna get up and dance too
I love Max and Jean and I would love to see them get together and future version of tcbob
"huh that actor looks like my wife"
Also again so glad we got a Lauren and James dance number
"this Troy Bolton bitch"
Oh!! Also I love how they incorporate the actual tcbob scripts in the first act as the characters holding the Matrix the Musical script
Lovee Cole and Bethanne sm
"the kind only a highschooler could pull off"
Love MC coming out of nowhere
Also love MC being aware of the audience and winking at the camera
"Jean and Max were ready for you" "body language! :D" ".. Alright"
Garrett is the best I love him the sweetest guy he cares about Alex so much
"yeah... Yeah.. I was there with you. Who is this for?"
Max and Jean definitely messed up the scene together bc they were distracted by dancing
"I'M HAVING A HEART ATTACK" "no your not" I CAN'T BREAATTHH"
Love how Cole gets ready to leave not even realizing her name wasn't said
Kris is annoying and selfish af but I love him
"unprofessional." ">:0"

"I'm begging you. I need this.... I HATE YOU DAD I HATE YOU"
Kris is so mad
Eric is just so annoyed and feed up with everyone saying their show could be on broadway
"since this fantasy I'm 10 ft tall with a million dollars!"
"that dumptrack of an ass"
"wanna take a dip? 👀 :)" Max definitely likes Jean
Why is Eric just listing all the drinks so funny to me
Ugh Bethanne and Cole <3
"hey you can't wear that out of the theatre! Thats a rental" "oh I thought it was mine to keep. It had a peice of tape with my name on it"
"you had to be there Jean"

"INTO THE UNKNOOOWN!!"
"he does the most annoying thing someone could do at party. He begins to strum a guitar"
"I've never heard of them! That sounds amazing!"
"do I miss high school? Not one bit! Who even asked me that? So random.."
"if gain to much weight their not cool with that. They'll fire me"
"I will never forget that smell it was fucking awful"
"hAlarious"
Kris slowing walking up and then slowing backing up
How does everyone believe that Alex actually made a scavenger hunt like it was so obviously joke guys-
Love Alex <3 and Cueless is so beautiful
*Alex absolutely chugging the alcohol*
*camera zooms in on Joey's ass*
"I wish that Cole and I were twins and that I ate her in the womb"
"hot goss gimme gimme that goss gimme gimme that goss that's hot"
Love how everyone is spreading rumours about each other. It starts with Kris and Eric trying to spread rumours about Cole but instead everyone starts spreading rumors about everyone.
I love Alex's drunk breakdown
Max's warmup freak out is hilarious
"here is something the other kids out there aren't ready here: if you do something you love you'll never work another day in your life"
"that's not what I saw out there Beth" "anne" "and!"
No one:.. Theo: *trying to fucking hook up with everyone*
"wait.. Are you a scientologist?"
I Suck Reprise is something I needed to hear
"mind if I vape out here?" "you vape now?" "I saw a billboard telling me not to vape so naturally"
"ew what is that? Cotton candy crush or some shit are you five?"
"dreamcasting is actually very problematic and lot of people have told me it hurts their feelings" "your talking about yourself Joshua"
UGH BETHANNE AND COLE <33
"that was really fucking girlboss what you said" "ew don't call me girlboss"
"what do even a friend do? Am I alien? Am I a girlboss?"
*Alex still having a breakdown* Theo: "mm that's awesome" *attempts to hook up/suduce her*
"wow what the f is this mess"
The fact that Theo saying the jacuzzi is lukewarm is what makes Kris try to fight him
The school flag on the crutch is so funny
Poor MC
Love that Max takes MC with him. Like there was no need, he could've left him but he was like "you don't need to be here bud you have no idea what's going on let's go and leave these guys alone"
"yess! Bethanne we stan a decisive queen!"
"mm the alternative being you acting little bitch"
"these are undoubtedly the craziest times in our lives! Like literally life will never be as crazy as this semester!"
"And with you~~"
Love everyone being in character durning the curtain call
Anyway I absolutely love this characters and their interactions with each other. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing Clark did so good. And everyone really popped off singing!! And it's so cool to see how far Joey, Lauren and Brian have come since 2009. Despite not actually being in theater myself I find several of the characters very relatable to myself and I'm sure other even if not in theater can relate to any of these characters. TCBoB is just so great.

fem!reader x kyle o’reilly
reader is a member of the Undisputed Era and is a guest on Adam’s stream with the rest of the boys, but there’s been a tension building between reader and Kyle that implodes while on stream ...
Tumblr media
word count: 5.6k
warnings: angsty, full of smut (hehe), kinda fluffy at the end

Adam convinced you to come over to play video games on his stream. Accepting that offer was your first mistake. You knew Kyle would be there as soon as Adam said, "The boys and I were gonna stream today on my Twitch if you wanna join us." You should've said no, but you didn't put two and two together.
For weeks, somethings been going on with Kyle, and you don't know why. He's been acting more distant from you and when you actually talk to him, he makes short comments and barely says three words to you. You don't understand why and you've never been good at confrontation. Kyle was your closet friend in the Undisputed Era, but he's been cold toward you for weeks.
On Thursday at one, you pull up to Adam's house. Roddy's car is here but Kyle and Bobby aren't here yet. You grab your phone and turn off the car before getting out and walking up to the door. You knock three times and wait for someone to answer.
Britt Baker answers the door. "Hey! Y/N, glad you're here. I wondered if Adam invited you," she says, greeting me with a hug. "I guess you're going to be on stream, huh? You're not here to hang with me and Marina."
You laugh and say, "Maybe I'll stay a little bit after the stream is done to hang out with you and Marina. Roddy brought the whole gang over I'm guessing."
With that said, Marina appears in the foyer and says, "He did. He thought that I should hang out with Britt while the stream is going on. Troy is in the living room watching some of his father's favorite matches.:
"Of course," you say, smiling. "Let me go greet the guys and I'll sit with you guys until Adam says it's time for the stream to start."
Britt lets me walk past and I greet Marina with a hug before strolling over to Adam's game room. I can hear his voice and Roderick's voice coming from the room as I pop my head in. "Hey, losers," you say. Adam and Roddy both look at you and both men smile.
Adam says, "Hey, Y/N. I'm just explaining everything to Roddy. I'll catch you up when Bobby and Kyle get here."
Your heart skips a beat at the mention of Kyle. You keep a smile on your face as you say, "Great. I'm excited. What are we playing?"
"I was thinking some Wii Bowling," Adam says. "Or something Wii related. Maybe some VR games as well. I have Beat Saber, which is fun to play."
You sit in Adam's gaming chair and say, "Wii sounds fun. It's been a while since I've played Wii."
Roddy and Adam both laugh as Adam finishes up.
Bobby gets here about fifteen minutes after you and Troy run in after him, crawling onto your lap on Adam's chair. "Aunt Y/N, what are you gonna play with daddy, Uncle Adam, and Uncle Bobby?" he asks, curious. You smile and hold on on your lap.
"We haven't figured that out yet," you say. "I'll let you in on a little secret though." You lean into Troy's ear and your voice drops to a loud whisper. "I'm gonna beat your dad and your uncles."
Adam, Roddy, and Bobby all look at me and Adam goes, "Hey! I'm the professional gamer here."
You stick your tongue out at Adam and say, "I'm a professional Wii player."
Troy giggles and says, "Yeah! Aunt Y/N is gonna kick your butts."
You laugh and that's when another voice chimes in. "Who said that Aunt Y/N is gonna kick our butt?" You turn your head and look at the doorway.
Kyle. He's finally here.
"Uncle Kyle!" Troy says, scrambling off your lap and running over to Kyle. Kyle hugs the little man and picks him up.
Roderick looks at you then looks at Troy in Kyle's arms. "Alright, buddy," Roddy says. "Time to go sit with mommy and Aunt Britt. Maybe they'll give you a snack if you listen to them."
Kyle puts Troy down and he runs into the living room with Marina and Britt. Kyle closes the door behind him and turns to his Undisputed Era brothers and "bro hugs" them. Then he turns to you and you open your mouth to say something but Kyle says, "Surprised to see you here, Y/N. I didn't think Adam would invite you."
Adam looks at Kyle and says, "Bro-"
You cut Adam off and say, "I'm a member of the Undisputed Era too, Kyle. Or do you not remember saving me from an assault by Toni Storm then helping me secure the NXT Women's Championship against Io?"
Roddy, Bobby, and Adam all stare between you and Kyle as Kyle says, "You're only a member by storyline, Y/N. You're not an actual member."
Your eyes widen and Roderick jumps in saying, "Woah, Kyle. Dude, she's a member of the Undisputed Era. Storyline or not."
Adam says, "Alright before things get out of hand, let's get this stream started. You guys ready?"
Everyone nods. You keep your eyes on Kyle though, trying to figure out why he's making so many hurtful comments. Adam sits in his chair in front of the greenscreen and puts his headset on. You stand beside Roddy while Bobby and Kyle stand behind you too. Adam's going to make introductions. This is a surprise to his Twitch community that you're all going to be on. It's his 200th stream, and it was Adam's idea to bring you all onto the stream.
He looks at the camera and says, "Alright. It looks like I'm live. Is my early crew here?" He pauses and smiles. "It is the 200th stream, you're right. I have a surprise for the 200th stream but I want to wait for more people to get in here before I tell you guys what the surprise is."
You sigh and Roddy says softly, "You seem nervous, Y/N. You nervous?"
Shaking your head, you whisper, "No. I'm fine."
Adam says, "Alright. There's a decent amount of people in here now. Do you guys want to know the 200th stream surprise? It might, how do you say it, shock the system." He smirks and winks a few times at the camera before waving you over first. "Okay, so first we have Miss L/N."
You jump into the frame behind Adam and smile. "Hey," you say before glancing at the chat. "Woah, hi, everyone. Looks like chat is excited."
He laughs and says, "Y/N isn't the only surprise. We got the whole gang here. Roddy, Kyle, Bobby." The three of them join you in standing behind Adam. The chat goes wild and the viewership goes up by a couple thousand. Adam looks at the four of you behind him before looking back at his chat. "Woah, it's going by so quick. So many gifted subs and bits, holy crap."
"Is this a PG stream?" Bobby asks.
Adam nods and says, "Yeah."
You and Roddy both laugh because Bobby likes to curse so much. All of you have to remind him to stop cursing while in the ring sometimes. It's crazy how much he likes to curse, but you like to too so you can't say anything.
That's when Kyle takes his first on-stream jab at you. "Y/N, you better watch your mouth," he warns you. "Adam won't be happy if you start dropping f-bombs on his stream."
To get back at him, you say, "You better watch your mouth before I kick your butt in whatever game we're about to play."
Kyle glares at you and Adam says, "Alright, so I was thinking of games we can play and it's recently been brought to my attention that Y/N is a professional Wii player so let's put that to the test and see just how good she is. Y/N? Game options?" He looks back at you and you begin to think.
"Wii Sports," you blatantly say. "I wanna beat Kyle's butt just because I can."
The group laughs, except for Kyle. You look over at him and smirk. Roddy puts a disk into Adam's Wii console and hands remotes to all of us. Kyle doesn't get one because only four people max can play Wii Sports.
Kyle says, "What about me? I didn't get a remote."
Bobby looks at all of us as we connect our remotes then says, "Maybe you can share with Y/N. I'm sure she wouldn't mind bowling every other frame."
Mentally you groan but physically you say, "Yeah, just pick up your spares, O'Reilly." All of you pick the Miis that you made before the stream. You and Kyle are third to go, and you both decided to throw every other frame. You'd get even frames and Kyle would get odds, so he starts off the game for you both.
Roddy misses a spare in the first, Adam strikes, Kyle picks up his spare, and Bobby gutters then knocks down seven pins on the second shot.
Half the game passes and you're having fun with your doubles partner. Kyle doesn't make any snide remarks toward you and actually cheers you on when you make a spare or strike. In the eighth frame, he actually gives you a high-five.
As Kyle throws the ninth frame, you lean and whisper in Adam's ear while he's out of frame, "You set this up, didn't you? Making Kyle and I team up like this?"
Adam shrugs as Kyle strikes. You get excited and actually hug Kyle. You're now right behind Adam in scoring. Bobby has no chance at winning the game, Roddy isn't that far behind you, and you are just seven pins behind Adam.
You watch as Adam throws his tenth and final frame. He strikes and picks up his spare. Now you're twenty-seven pins behind the leader of the Undisputed Era. He threw a 156 game. You and Kyle can get a 159 if you get all three strikes in the tenth. Technically, you just need two strikes and eight pins on the third shot to beat Adam with a 157 game.
Kyle watches as you get the first strike in the tenth. He cheers for you. You sigh and get ready for your second shot. You strike again. Eight more pins and you beat Adam.
Then it happens. Kyle has had all game to do something to you and he does it just as you throw the ball. It over hooks and you only knock down three pins. You lost by four pins because Kyle decided to yell, "Let's go, Y/N" at you and he scared you so much you jumped, affecting what the ball does on the screen.
The look on Kyle's face was priceless when you turned to him. He looked terrified. "I had it, Kyle!" you shout, kind of annoyed at him. Then you snap. "You just love when I prove myself wrong, don't you? I don't get it. We were so close and all of a sudden, you start acting differently. It's like I did something to you and I don't know what I did."
"Y/N-" Kyle starts.
You cut him off and say, "Save it, O'Reilly." You shove the remote at him and leave the game room. You walk into the kitchen, needing a glass of something to keep you from absolutely losing it.
He didn't need to yell it. He could've done anything else except yell it. It scared you so much that you messed up the winning shot.
Britt and Marina walk into the kitchen and Britt asks, "What happened? You stormed out of there and you looked angry."
After chugging a glass of water, you say, "Kyle happened. Again. He's been up my ass for months and I don't know what I did to deserve this. We were like best friends and he was so excited when I joined the Undisputed Era. Now all of a sudden he's saying the only reason I'm in the group is because of storylines and he's making sure that I prove myself wrong. I say I can beat the guys and he yells something, scaring me, so I mess up the shot and losing to Adam."
Marina sighs and says, "You need to talk to him, Y/N. This pent-up frustration isn't going to do either of you any good."
"I'm not good at confrontation, Marina," you explain. "I never have been."
There are footsteps that come into the kitchen and you look behind the girls to see who it is. It's Kyle. You roll your eyes and try to ignore him even as he says, "Y/N, I'm so sorry. I didn't know that it would scare you like that. I wouldn't have done it if I had thought-"
You snap and say, "You haven't been thinking, Kyle. Not recently, anyway. These comments you're making hurt me. It hurts when you tell me I'm only in the group because of a storyline when you all welcomed me into the group a few months ago."
The girls leave the room, leaving me and Kyle alone. You sip off another glass of water as Kyle says, "I felt like things were changing with us, Y/N. That's why I started acting the way I have been. I pushed you away because I was scared."
Annoyed, you ask, "Scared of what, Kyle? Scared I was going to do something that would risk our friendship? I noticed it too and I was scared too, but I didn't start making rude comments toward you." Finally, you meet Kyle's eyes. They're full of sincerity and regret.
Kyle says, "Come back to the group. I'm sorry for yelling and making you mess up your shot. I promise I'll be good."
"I don't trust you," you say. You have every right to not trust him. Every time he tells you he'll stop making comments, he does it again. He does it multiple times. "You say that then break your promise. It's happened several times at this point, Kyle."
He looks kind of hurt at your comment. Then something inside Kyle snaps and he says, "Such a hypocrite. You tell me that you'd never make hurtful comments but then you say you don't trust me."
You put the glass down and say, "Maybe you understand what I've been going through for the past few months now, Kyle." Tears sting your eyes as you stare at Kyle. "Do you know how many times I've been alone in a room after you've left and I've just cried? Do you know how many times I've wondered what I've done wrong that has made you treat me this way?"
Kyle almost shouts, "It's nothing you did, Y/N! You haven't done anything except being the kindest and the most caring human being toward me for years. I just started to fall for you and it scared the hell out of me so I just pushed you away."
Your jaw drops. You had noticed that your friendship may have been treading into the more than friends territory but you didn't know that Kyle was falling for you this entire time.
The man in front of you is the most vulnerable than he's ever been. He just told you the one thing he was terrified of telling you at risk of ruining your friendship with him.
He avoids eye contact with you as you leave your spot by the sink and walking over to Kyle, who stands on the other side of the kitchen island counter. He doesn't look at you when you approach his eyes and look up at him.
You'd be lying to yourself if you didn't admit that you might have been falling for Kyle as he was falling for you. Kyle's always been so sweet. He cares for you and the boys, and he's never afraid to show his soft side. Sometimes that side of him shows up on television, and you're guilty of trying to coax that softer more adorable side of him out in front of the cameras.
Whenever you and Kyle would be together, it felt like the world around you stopped. Whether that was having a conversation in your shared locker room with Adam, Roddy, and Bobby or just hanging out at your apartment or his house. It was always you and him against the world, and you just want that back.
Kyle still avoids your eyes as you examine his face as he looks at his hands on the counter. You rest one of your hands on Kyle's and he finally looks over at you. He stands at almost six foot but you're at five foot six so he doesn't tower over you. It would be so easy to just lean up and kiss him.
Fuck it, you think before you grab the collar of his shirt and pulling him down to you. Your lips crash to his and both of you gasp as your lips make contact. You're hesitant with kissing him at first but you slowly gain confidence, pressing your lips harder to his. Kyle pulls back and looks at you, panting slightly. "I don't want your pity kisses, Y/N," Kyle says to you.
"Who said it was a pity kiss?" you question, raising your eyebrows at him as you look up at him.
He sighs and says, "Y/N-"
You shake your head and say, "No. I'm not going to let you talk yourself into it being a pity kiss because it wasn't, Kyle. It was anything but a pity kiss. If your dumbass didn't start pushing me away then it could've happened sooner."
Kyle looks down at you and says, "I don't know what you mean."
Sighing, you say, "I noticed our friendship changing too, Kyle. I mean it. I was ready for you to possibly take the next step by asking me on a date or by kissing me. Then you started treating me differently and I thought it was all in my head. Maybe if you just talked to me instead of saying hurtful comments then maybe I would have kissed you before right now."
"So," he sighs. "That wasn't a pity kiss?"
You smile and shake your head. "That wasn't a pity kiss," you confirm. You slide your hands from the collar of his shirt to his cheeks, where you cup his face. "That was the farthest thing from a pity kiss."
Kyle asks, "Do it again?"
Laughing, you get on your toes and kiss him softly. This kiss is slower but more passionate than the last. Kyle actually touches you, resting his hands on the sliver of bare skin exposed between your loose black crop top and your light blue high-waisted ripped jeans. Kyle turns and presses you against the counter before he reaches down and sits you on the counter. You hold Kyle close, scared to let him go.
Your heart races in your chest. This is everything you've wanted for so long. You've wanted to call Kyle yours for months. After today, maybe he will be.
You pull Kyle closer to you and he leans forward, almost pushing you back onto the kitchen counter. That's when you pull back and giggle, "I don't think Adam would like the fact that we're making out on his kitchen counter. I'm sure he and Britt eat here."
Kyle smiles and kisses your jaw softly before he says, "He has an extra guest room upstairs. I don't think he'd like it if we did anything in his house but I think he'd prefer a bedroom than his kitchen counter."
Smiling, you lean your head back a bit as he kisses your jaw and says, "I'd prefer a bedroom than the kitchen counter too."
"Then let's go," he says, taking your hands. You smile and hop off the counter. "We can't make a lot of noise though because Adam is doing a PG stream right now and the walls in this house aren't exactly thick."
You nod and look up at Kyle. He's almost glowing since he told you how he felt. You feel so happy that everything is out in the open. You don't like how he pushed you away instead of telling you how he felt, but you can get over that if it means that everything can go back to how it was.
Kyle smiles and walks out of the kitchen. The stairs are in the living room, which means you have to walk past Britt and Marina to go upstairs. This is going to be interesting.
You and Kyle walk into the living room hand in hand. Britt and Marina look over at the two of you and Britt's eyes widen. Marina points and says, "That was not a thing a few minutes ago."
Your face gets all flustered and you look up at Kyle. He says, "Well, it's a thing now. And if you excuse us, we need to make up for some time. Upstairs. We'll be quiet."
He leads you upstairs and Britt says, "Keep the sheets clean, please. Condoms are in the bathroom." Kyle chuckles as you both get up the stairs.
"The guys could have heard that," you gasp as you reach the top of the stairs. Kyle cups your face with his hands and presses you against the wall.
You stare up at Kyle as he says, "They'll just be jealous that I'm finally getting everything I want." You grab at Kyle's shirt and hold him close to you.
He kisses your forehead and you close your eyes, asking, "Everything?"
Kyle nods and says, "You're all I want, Y/N."
Your eyes open and you meet his eyes. His face is close to yours and you lean your head up, lips barely touching his. "You're all I want too, Kyle," you say in almost a whisper. "You're all I've wanted for months. There's a reason why there was no one else after I broke up with Murphy a few months ago. It's you. You're it for me, Kyle."
He pushes your hair back out of your face and he says, "He never treated you right, Y/N." He tilts his head, almost kissing you.
"You will?" you ask.
Kyle nods and says, "One hundred percent I will treat you better."
You grow tired of being close to Kyle without him kissing you so you get on your toes, kissing him. The kiss is quick and needy. Kyle stumbles with you to the guest bedroom and kicks the door closed with his foot. You're pressed against the door, kicking off your sneakers while Kyle runs his fingers over the exposed skin on your stomach. You shiver under his touch before you pull at his shirt. Kyle pulls back from the kiss and pulls off his shirt. You run your fingers over his tattoo and see the thing on his arm that monitors his blood sugar levels.
"Are you okay to, you know?" you ask, trailing off.
Kyle glances at his arm monitor and says, "Yeah. I took my meds and I ate so I'm okay. For at least the first round, anyway."
You giggle and say, "Mr. O'Reilly, you don't plan on keeping me for the rest of the day and the night, do you?"
He attacks your neck with kisses before he says, "One round and cuddles then we gotta join the boys to finish Adam's stream. We can negotiate what happens afterward later."
Your fingers run through Kyle's hair and you sigh, "Less talking, Kyle. Please."
Kyle smiles against your neck and walks back to the bed. You pull off your crop top, exposing your black Calvin Klein bra. Kyle's eyes are on your body as he sits on the bed. He kisses your stomach and unbuttons the jeans you're wearing and you watch his fingers. He pulls the jeans down, leaving you in nothing but your underwear.
You slide down to your knees in front of him and pull down his loose sports shorts, leaving him in his boxers. You look up at him with innocent eyes and run your fingers over the bulge in his underwear. He sighs softly and leans back on his hands.
It's been a while since you've been with someone, but it's Kyle. Your nerves were shot just kissing him.
Kyle says, "I can see the wheels turning in your head, Y/N. If you don't want to do anything then we don't have to."
You say, "I want to. I want ... you."
He sits back up and pushes a loose strand of hair behind your ear before he says, "You have me."
With that finally said, you smile and leave soft kisses on his knee and thigh. Kyle smiles and you trace over his hardened member in his boxers for a second before you hook your fingers in the waistband. You hesitate for a second before you pull the thin fabric off his body. His erect dick pops out and you gasp at the sight. He's bigger than you thought it was, but you definitely won't complain about it. "Shit," you sigh.
Kyle laughs and watches you. You take his member in your hand and stroke him a few times. Kyle whines softly and lays on his back as you kiss the tip. You nestle yourself between his knees as he legs hang off the bed. Slowly, you begin to take him in your mouth. Kyle gasps and runs his fingers through your hair. Your hands move to his thighs as you bob your head up and down, sucking occasionally.
Soft noises leave Kyle's lips and they go straight to your core. You slip one of your hands into your panties, rubbing yourself to relieve yourself a bit. You moan softly and Kyle gasps, "Keep doing that and I don't think I'll last as long as we both want."
You slowly pull away from Kyle's member, wiping away some saliva that has rolled down your chin as you sucked Kyle off. Kyle sits up and kisses you hard. His hands are on your face as he pulls you up. You straddle his waist and he rolls so he's hovering over you, not breaking the kiss. Your tongue slips into Kyle's mouth as the kiss intensifies.
Kyle's fingers slide down your body until they get to the waistband of your panties. He hesitates before you take his hand and guide it into your underwear. His fingers make contact with your slick folds and you gasp. Kyle pulls back from the kiss and says, "Already so wet for me, baby."
"Only for you," you gasp as his pointer fingers circles your sensitive clit. Kyle kisses down your body and pulls off your panties. He throws your legs over his shoulders and your core is completely exposed to him.
He kisses your inner thighs, close to your soaked sex. You whine and look down at Kyle. He kisses closer to your core. You shiver with anticipation as he finally runs a finger through your folds. You gasp and lay your head back on the bed. "Kyle," you sigh. "Please. I've waited long enough. Tease me later."
Kyle looks up at you and asks, "So there will be a later?"
You look down at him between your legs and you say, "Only if you do something now and don't tease me."
He bites his lip softly for a second before he finally dives in, kissing and sucking on your clit. You let out a soft moan as his tongue circles the sensitive bud. You grasp onto the blankets and smile as he makes you feel euphoric and full of bliss. His finger dips into you and you gasp, not expecting that. Kyle moves his finger in and out of you as you are pulled closer to an orgasm.
Once Kyle adds a second finger and continues to suck on your clit, it's basically over for you. Your legs shake as you are literally seconds away from your pending orgasm. "Kyle," you cry out as he curls his fingers slightly. "Kyle, baby, I'm about to cum."
"Let me taste you, Y/N," he says before continuing to suck on your clit.
Seconds later, your toes curl and you cry out Kyle's name as you release all over his fingers. Kyle hums softly as he tastes your juices and cum. You pant as he gets on his knees and licks his lips. You watch him and try to catch your breath.
He made you cum in minutes just from his mouth and fingers. You begin to wonder how long you'll last when he finally fucks you.
You sit up and leave a few soft kisses on Kyle's chest. Your hands are on the side of his body, holding him close to you. Kyle runs his fingers through your hair and says, "I need to grab something, Y/N, and you need to let me go so I can go get it." Pouting, you let him go and he climbs off the bed. "I promise I'll be quick." He leans down and pecks your lips before putting on his boxers and walking out of the room. You scootch back on the bed a bit as you bite your lip gently.
Kyle returns with a little silver package and closes the door. He walks toward you on the bed but you say, "Lose the boxers before you get on this bed, O'Reilly."
"So demanding," Kyle teases, stripping out of his boxer shorts. "I kinda like it."
Smirking as he crawls toward you, you giggle, "You would." Kyle smiles and hovers over you as you lean back so you're laying on your back. Your hands cup Kyle's face and you stare up at him.
His eyes scan your naked body beneath him and you get a little self-conscious. "You're so beautiful, Y/N," Kyle sighs. "I don't know how I went this long without touching you or kissing you. I really was a dumbass, wasn't I?"
You say, "You were, but I can forgive you for that." You smile and lean up, kissing Kyle. He props himself up on his arms and kisses you back. You wrap your arms around his neck and hold him close.
Kyle pulls back from the kiss after a second before he opens the little package. He slides the contents on himself and you watch as he hovers over you again.
Kyle kisses you and you quickly slip your tongue into his mouth. You smile against his lips and you feel his tip run through your folds. You sigh and slide your fingers into his hair.
You hold Kyle close before he pulls back and asks, “Are you sure you want this?”
Nodding, you say, “I want this. Please.”
He smiles and he sets himself up at your entrance. You take one of his hands and hold it as he slides into you. You whine and gasp as his length fills you. Your eyes squeeze shut and Kyle asks, “Okay?”
“Yeah,” you sigh. “I’m okay. Keep going.”
Kyle continues to slowly slide himself into you. You grip his hand until he’s completely inside of you. He lets you adjust and you nod when you’re ready for him to move.
He begins to thrust slowly, making you sigh softly. You wrap your legs around his waist, holding him close as he picks up speed.
Soon, the room is filled with your moans and the sound of skin slapping. Kyle’s thrusts are hard and fast into you. His lips are on yours as he tries to silence your moans.
His lips leave yours and attach to your neck. Your back arches off the bed and you sigh, “God, you make me feel so good. I love how good you make me feel.”
Kyle mumbles, “I love you, Y/N.”
You smile after Kyle’s words. His tip finds your g-spot and you cry out, “Fuck, right there. Oh, God, don’t stop. Please don’t stop.”
“I would never even think of stopping,” Kyle pants as he fucks you.
Moments later, your legs begin to shake and a pit forms in your stomach. Your lips are on Kyle’s again, passionately kissing him as he thrusts hard into you.
Kyle’s movements get sloppier and your whole body seems to shake as you’re pulled closer to an orgasm.
You whine, “Kyle.”
He says, “Cum for me, baby. I wanna feel you cum again for me.”
Soft whines and moans pass your lips as the pit in your stomach bottoms out and you release on Kyle’s length inside you. He cums into the condom. He helps you both ride out your highs before he collapses onto you.
Both of you are sweaty and panting as you recover. Kyle smiles and buries his face into your neck.
“Worth the wait,” he pants.
You giggle and look at him. “Did you mean it when you said you loved me?” you ask.
He looks up at you, meeting your eyes before he says, “Of course I did. I’ve been falling in love with you for weeks. I didn’t just say it and didn’t mean it, Y/N. I would never say it and not mean it.”
You lean your head up and peck his lips before you say, “I love you too, Kyle. Does this mean that we’re together?”
Kyle smiles and says, “Let me take you out on an official date then we’ll talk about it.”

today i heard someone say "i don't wanna date, i just want my best friend to fall in love with me" and i thought it would make a really good fic!!! maybe you could write it with petey, for his birthday?
That’s a really cute idea. Just a little blurb but hopefully you like it!!
--
You love the boys, you really do, but…
“Shut up, Brock,” you hiss, slamming your beer glass down on the table with a little too much force. Some of the contents sloshes over the edge, but you know Brock is about to buy you a new one: after everything that he’s done tonight, it’s the least he can do.
“Why?” Brock asks, puppy eyes in full effect. “I’m just asking a question!”
What Brock is doing, actually, is opening a can of worms you really don’t want to get opened. You’re good at keeping your feelings close to your chest, have been good at that for ages.
You kinda had no choice. Falling in love with your best friend is dangerous stuff, especially when he’s really not interested in that at all, and you can’t be caught slipping up.
So you don’t go there, normally. But it’s obvious, really, to anyone with eyes. Brock likes to tease you that the sun shines out of your eyes whenever you look at Elias, and Troy simply raises his eyebrows in judgmental manner whenever you stare at Elias a little too long.
And unfortunately, your friends don’t have enough of a moral compass to refrain from teasing you about it.
“You’re not just asking a question,” you quote Brock sarcastically. “You’re being annoying.”
It’s always fun to go out with the boys, so whenever Elias asks you to tag along on their bar crawls, you always say yes. Somehow the topic got turned to your dating life, however, and the only reason you haven’t stabbed Brock to death with the umbrella that came in Jake’s cocktail is that Elias as last seen being beat into the ground at pool by Jacob, so he’s not here to hear about your pathetic love life – or lack thereof.
“I just think,” Brock starts, voice betraying the beginning of a monologue, “that if you’re not gonna do anything about your feelings for Petey, you have to try and get over him. And getting over someone works best when you get under someone else.” He points towards the general area of the bar. “There’s guys there! Just pick one.”
Jake snorts. “It’s not a supermarket, Boes. She can’t just pick up random guys and hope one’s good enough.”
“Exactly,” you say, thankful to have at least one person on your side. The happiness lasts for about a second, because then Jake clearly decides to betray you.
“But I don’t think it’s a bad idea to go on some dates.”
“Really, Tuna, you too?” you frown, putting as much betrayal as you can into your voice. He has the decency to at least look a little sheepish.
“Just a few dates. You don’t know what could happen.”
“I don’t wanna go on dates!” Frustration is ringing clear in your voice. “That might be fun for you, being professional athletes, rich, hot, and men, but going on dates for me means telling my friends exactly where I’m gonna be at whatever time during the night because I’m worried about getting murdered. It means having nothing to talk about and sitting through 3 hours of silence, or listening to men brag about their accomplishments while not even bothering to learn my name. Going on dates isn’t fun.”
You stubbornly cross your arms. Brock and Jake are staring at you with wide eyes, as if you’ve said something crazy; you groan.
“I don’t want to go on dates with random people, I want my best friend to fall in love with me!”
There’s a sharp intake of breath behind you. Normally you probably wouldn’t even notice it, but this one is a little too familiar to be ignored. Within a split second, you realize why Jake and Brock were staring.
Elias is standing behind you, looking at you with confused eyes. His hands are limply by his side.
Oh no.
“Oh no,” Brock says.
“Elias,” you start, but the sentence dies on your lips. What could you say? I didn’t mean it would be a lie, I can explain would lead into something you really don’t want to do.
For a second, Elias seems to be at a loss for words, which is not something that happens to your best friend a lot.
“I’m your best friend,” he says finally, and it’s like the words are sinking into his brain at the exact moment he speaks them. His eyes widen, realization settles into his features, and suddenly you can’t do this.
You can’t watch the horror take over his face, you can’t hear the pity in his voice as he tries to let you down gently. You can’t take Brock and Jake’s sorrowful look of guilt.
So you book it: you throw yourself out of the booth before anyone can say anything and all but run towards the exit of the bar, bumping into Marky on the way out.
“Y/N?” he calls after you, clearly worried, but you don’t stop.
Tears are starting to make their way to your eyes and you don’t want anyone to see that. Instead, you push the door open. Cold winter air hits you in the face and you feel it in your lungs as you inhale.
For a second, it calms you down enough that you have the mind to grab your phone and open the Uber app.
You should’ve expected Elias to follow you, but for some reason it still comes as a surprise when you hear his footsteps behind you.
It’s a little weird, maybe, that you would recognize his footsteps, that you would know it’s him before you’ve seen or heard him. But he’s so familiar that your body reacts to him even without your knowledge, muscles relaxing when he silently stands next to you.
Normally, you would lean against him, in a situation like this. This time you stare stoically ahead.
There’s chatter coming from inside the bar, but it’s quiet outside. It’s cold, but the night is clear. It’s a lovely set of juxtapositions, you suppose, like the way your heart is breaking at the hands of your favorite person; your best friend, who has done nothing wrong.
Suddenly you feel something warm, featherlight against your fingers. Elias’ hands are rough with callouses but they are gentle, and when he carefully and oh so slowly threads his fingers through yours, you don’t stop him. You don’t pull away. You should, probably, but God, you don’t want to.
If everything is going to change, you can allow yourself this memory, of getting so close to what you wanted.
“I don’t like going on dates either,” Elias says out of nowhere. His voice is soft but it cuts through the quiet night anyway.
It’s not at all what you expected him to say, and it startles a laugh out of you. When you look up, there’s a content tug to his lips, like he’s pleased to hear your laughter.
“But I like going on dates with you.”
Those words are even more unexpected and the laughter dies on your lips. Confusion takes over. “Elias, we’ve never been on a date.”
Elias hums. He takes a while to respond. “Haven’t we, though?” he asks, finally. “We’ve been to lots of restaurants, cinemas. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners. Movie nights at home. We’ve gone skating, hiking, golfing.” He grins. “Taken romantic strolls through the park.”
You snort. “Taking Brock’s dogs for a walk isn’t a romantic stroll.”
Elias’ response is quick. “But it could be.”
You don’t have a reply for that. Your heart is beating in your chest a million miles an hour; you feel like you can’t breathe, because it feels like Elias is saying something you couldn’t ever imagine hearing him say.
“Y/N.” Elias’ voice is soft, but urgent, so you focus back on him. “You’re my best friend.”
“I know.” And you do: you wouldn’t ever doubt that, you know what you mean to him.
“That’s why it’s scary. Because I don’t want to lose you if it goes wrong. But that’s also why it’s not scary at all, right? Because we’ve been doing this for a long time, we just didn’t put a name to it.” He shrugs, easily, like his words aren’t turning your whole world upside down. “But I already know I’m my happiest when I’m with you, and I know I always want to spend all of my time with you.”
Your head snaps up. When your eyes catch his, there’s nothing there but truth and honesty. Hope lights up inside your heart like a beacon of light.
“You said… You said you want your best friend to fall in love with you.” Elias smiles, small and private, but happy. “But I already did that a long time ago.”
Like a tidal wave of happiness, a smile spreads across your face. You’re about to step in, to finally kiss Elias like you’ve been wanting all that time, when a car pulls up.
“You already ordered an Uber for us?” Elias says, tone teasing and light. “Someone is eager.”
“I didn’t say you were invited,” you snap, but Elias simply laughs because in reality you both know that he’s invited.
You think for the past few years, there was never a place you went that Elias wasn’t invited to.
“I suppose I could just go,” Elias trails, and you latch onto his hands tightly, keeping them firmly in your own.
He’s not going anywhere, not if it’s up to you. And when he squeezes your hand in the back of the Uber, you’re pretty sure he’s not going anywhere if it’s up to him, either.

I placed the orange beanie over my head. Finally finishing off my final look.
Giggling to myself I walked out into the living room to see Savannah there in her Kim Possible outfit.
"How do I look?"
"Oh my god Charlie's gonna die!" She laughed throwing her head back.
"You look great"
"Are you sure it's not too....booby" I said moving the muscle tee away from my body to show my black bra. The muscle tee being directly from the show itself courtesy of the wardrobe department.
"It's Madison's Halloween party. I don't wanna show up looking like a slut"
"It's not too booby. You look great plus no ones gonna get to look under there except Charlie" She teased.
I playfully rolled my eyes grabbing a large oversized jacket to cover my costume.
"Where'd Tori go?"
"She went to go check on the boys to see if they were almost ready"
"Oh sounds good. Hey thanks again for letting me room with you two"
"Of course you know you're always welcome when your here. Plus I know Kenny always appreciates that you choose not to room with your boyfriend when you visit us"
"Kenny and apparently Owen too" I said earning a giggle from the girl.
"Tori just texted said the boys are ready and scary"
"Really?"
"Yeah. What's Charlie gonna be this year?" She asked as I grabbed my phone off the kitchen countertop.
"Beats me. He said it was top secret"
"Same for Owen and Jer" She spoke as I received a message from my boyfriend himself.
"Oh" I muttered.
"What's up?"
"Charlie just texted they'll meet us there. Something about needing the makeup department"
"Oh my"
"I just hope it's not anything too scary. I hate anything terrifying. I don't even watch scary movies at night due to the fact that I'm a complete wimp"
"Does Charlie know that?" Savannah bit her lip.
"Of course we've been dating for 6 months. If he didn't I'd be worried" I said walking out the front door.
I sighed stepping out of the Uber taking in the freezing cold air. Nothing too bad.
"How are you not freezing your socks off?" Tori asked.
"Toro you forget I've lived in Canada my whole life. You Californians cannot take the cold"
"Your the female version of Charlie. It's actually crazy" The girl said as she looped her arm through my own.
"Yeah he kinda rubbed off on me" I smiled walking into the warehouse with my two temporary roommates.
Immediately we spotted Madison, Sacha and Jadah.
"Y/n!" Madison and Jadah shouted running up to me.
"There's my angel. And my devils" I grinned at my boyfriends cast mates. Taking in the warmth's of the new surrounding.
"Okay let's see it. I've been waiting in anticipation to see your take on Luke Patterson" I giggled opening up the jacket to reveal the rest of my costume.
"You look great!"
"I think you look better than Charlie"
"Yeah my guns look great too don't they?" I asked flexing my arms causing laughter to erupt from the group.
"Okay seriously though where's my boyfriend and his posse"
"We have no idea"
"I do" Sacha stated smirking at me.
"Are you going to tell me?" I asked.
"Nope" As soon as the word left his lips my phone dinged.
"It's Charlie. He's asking me to meet him in the makeup. Where's that?"
"I'll walk you" Sav said taking my hand. We made it to a large door with windows to peer in.
"It's dark" I stated jiggling the knob to find it locked.
"Well that's weird" Sav said knocked. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as the door opened slowly.
"Take my hand"
"Okay Troy Bolton" Savannah said making me giggle. We walked forward slowly my heart dropping feeling a pair of arms grab my waist. I screamed in fear as the lights turned on. The three faces in front of me smiling widely.
"Ahhh" I shut my eyes hugging Savannah tightly. Who seem to have had a similar reaction because she didn't hesitate to pull me close either. My heart beating out of my chest wanting nothing more than to curl up in a ball and cry all my anxiety out. We gripped onto each other for dear life as......laughter erupted?
I slowly peeled my eyes open to see Charlie laughing loudly clutching his stomach along with Owen and Jeremy. A frown fell upon my face as I let the light haired girl go.
"Charlie" I whispered a small tear escaping my eyes.
The laughter quickly died down. Charlie's face now expressing concern.
"Y/n baby what's wrong?"
I scoffed walking past Savannah to be anywhere but here.
Flashback
"Come on babe"
"Charlie I'm serious. I hate scary movies and I hate being scared. It sends me into this weird panic mode and I get anxious" I ranted watching him turn the tv off.
"You probably think I'm some sort of freak who can't take a joke. If you don't wanna date me anymore that's fine but just don't make me watch that movie especially right now" I spoke looking out the window into the darkness of the dimly lit street.
"Why would you ever think I wouldn't want to date you because of this?" He asked hurt flashing his eyes.
"I don't know. It's just my past boyfriends have called me lame for not wanting to go out to a scary movie with them at night. Or not wanting to dress up as some sort of badass scary character for Halloween. It just sucks to be left out because of some stupid irrational fear"
"It's anything but irrational. So you got a fear of something. We all do. Hey I'm insanely afraid of spiders"
"Really?" I asked biting my lips.
"Yeah baby. It's a stupid fear I know but something about their long legs makes me just ugh" He said getting the chills.
"It's not stupid. Thanks Charlie" I smiled.
"Anytime y/n. Now come on" He spoke sticking his hand out to me.
"What about the movie?"
"We're still watching a movie. Frozen to be exact. Upstairs in my room, cuddling up in a pillow fort. Sound good?"
"Sounds amazing" I grinned taking it. I sighed contently as he pulled my into a hug.
"I promise I won't scare you or take any of your fears with a pinch of salt"
"I promise to do the same" I said looking up at the boy in front of me. Looking up at the face that I was slowly but surely falling in love with.
I made my way back towards the party immediately spotting Madi and Tori talking. Their eyes landed on me quickly sensing something wrong.
I made my way over to them wiping away the strayed water droplets under my eyes.
"Hey what's wrong?"
"The guys are assholes" I spoke bitterly.
"Did they scare you too?" Madison asked as I nodded. The two understanding me immediately.
"Yeah..... Its just when Charlie and I started dating I specifically explained to him why I don't like being scared and he promised he'd never take that one specific fear and use it against me. And he just scared the living crap out of me and Savannah. Which I'm glad I did figure out it was him and the boys before I passed out or puked. I'd expect it from Owen and Jer but my own boyfriend. I know it's stupid and I probably over reacted but I just- I've always made sure to kill every damn spider in our damn apartment so he wouldn't have to do it. And he does this to me"
"I don't think you overreacted. You have the right to be mad"
"You think?"
"Yeah but I also know Charlie's an idiot and needs to be reminded of things from time to time"
"You're right" I sighed.
"Look he's obviously gonna apologize. Just don't be too hard on him. His memories almost as bad as his handwriting" Madison joked making me let out a strangled chuckle hearing my name being called.
"Y/n! Y/n! Where is she?" Charlie shouted running into the room. The music coming to a halt.
All eyes landed on me as Charlie ran up to me.
"Please continue" I awkwardly chuckled pulling the brunette off into a random hallway.
The loud music blaring through the speakers once more.
"What is it Charles?" I spoke sternly turning around to face the boy who's makeup was much worse than before.
"Y/n baby I'm so sorry we pranked you. The boys convinced me that it'd be funny to get as many people as we could today. I didn't know you'd get so upset. I'll go take off this stupid costume right now if you want me to but please don't be mad at me baby. I love you" He finished nearly out of breath. I took in a deep breath hearing the sadness in his voiced as he had ranted like any other time he screwed up which wasn't very often. But still.
"Do you remember the night we watched frozen in your room?" I questioned nervously playing with the rings on my fingers. Another prop from Luke's character that tied my costume together.
"Of course it was amazing. We made a pillow fort and ate popcorn and afterwards we did stuff that was definitely not pg 13" He smirked making me roll my eyes.
"Do you remember why we watched frozen?" I spoke once more hoping he would get where I was going with my questions.
"Yeah we watched it because- oh. Y/n I'm so sorry. I'm such an idiot I can't believe I forgot about that"
"Yeah......Listen I'm not mad that your a clown which by the way I do happen to also be afraid of too but it's not gonna kill me. And I'm certainly not mad at Owen and Jeremy because they wanted to have a little fun tonight. But they didn't know about my anxiety that I get whenever I get scared. You did Charlie"
"I know I did" He groaned throwing his head back.
"And if my memory wasn't so damn bad I wouldn't have even thought about doing it baby. I hope you know that. And I'll do literally anything to get you to forgive me starting with never putting you through that again when your with me" He spoke taking my hands in his.
I sighed intertwining our fingers pulling him close to me.
"I know you won't. I also might have overreacted a bit" I said nuzzling my face into his chest.
His arms immediately wrapping around me completely.
"You didn't overreact. Overreacting is me when I see a spider. In all seriousness I love you and I'm really sorry for doing that"
"It's fine Charlie. I'll get my revenge on you guys" I spoke kissing his cheek before skipping away back to the party.
"Y-you're what? Wait baby your what? Y/n!" I heard him call after me as I laughed.

Hellooo babies and dear Anons 👋🏼🤗 Welcome to a new ‘Q&A’ post. Enjoy 🙃
Tumblr media
Here, dear Anon. I spoke and gave my interpretation of Find U Again here: https://fa-by.tumblr.com/post/648195009382842368/2-%C9%9F (sixth question).
Tumblr media
Here, dear Anon. I talked about Michael Clifford here: https://fa-by.tumblr.com/post/648194217526640640/%C9%9F (Point n° 2).
Tumblr media
Nope and nope, dear Anon. Camila was in a relationship before they got together. May I advise you to listen to their songs with a little more attention, dear?
Tumblr media
They were certainly more distant, dear Anon. As for the not speaking, it was a bit impossible not to do it work-wise speaking, but they certainly didn't talk about them and their situation. Not until Laur finally got her head out of her ass.
Tumblr media
1) Of course I do, dear Anon. 2) She didn't hide it very well as you say. 3) Yes, because Lauren, but also Camila, are anything but subtle when they're jealous.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much, dear Anon 🤗 and forgive me, but I don't think I understood what you mean. Do you mean if they were angry at each other? Because if they were angry at each other, then I don't think they shared a room 🤷🏻‍♀‍
Tumblr media
Hiii to you too, baby CS 👋🏼😄 Lauren created her Tumblr at 14, so, no, I'm sorry, dear. It has nothing to do with Camila.
Tumblr media
Hello to you too, dear Anon 👋🏼😄 When they stopped communicating again. It became painful when they stopped sharing with each other moments, situations, feelings, desires, opinions, fears, and everything that is enclosed in communication. But this happened after their first breakup. Their real first breakup lasted very little and led to their rings, dear. Sooo.
Tumblr media
No, dear Anon, they weren't fighting. That was a soundcheck, not the concert. Can't you see they didn't have their white stage costumes? Can't you see they were all lazily rehearsing the steps? And then, I'm sorry, dear, but have you ever seen Camila angry? Does it look like she's angry here?
Tumblr media
That's just Mila being Mila, dear Anon 🤣
Tumblr media
No, dear Anon. That rumor was created as soon as the video of Camila singing the ‘The Hills/Crazy in Love’ mashup cover came out on July 3, 2015. It's just that. A cover like many others she's done. Mila at the time still didn't have the possibility and the access to record in a professional studio outside of 5H, so let alone if she could write and sell a song. And another proof I can give you about this is the fact that she hadn't even written I Know What You Did Last Summer yet. Camila, Ally, and Troy (Ally's ex-boyfriend) went to Taylor's ‘1989 Tour’ concert on July 10, 2015 (Shiseido was one of the opening acts, and that was the day ‘they wrote’, sure, Jane, a part of IKWDLS backstage). Exactly 7 days after that video. So, dear Anon, my answer is no. I don't believe at all in the possibility that it happened.
Tumblr media
Hello to you too, dear Anon 👋🏼😄 Yes, I read it, and no, dear. The story was written in 2014, so even though we can find coincidences today, it means absolutely nothing. They're just that: coincidences. The girl who wrote it, Jazmin, is from Germany, and that alone should make you realize she's not an insider. She's just a really talented and brilliant girl who has been able to write stories like Do I Wanna Know, CC7, and LJ10.
Tumblr media
Of course I've seen/heard that video, dear Anon. I also talked about it in my last post, about the kiss more specifically. And to answer your questions:
1) neither. You can hear someone say: “This is weird. I missed you so much”. And honestly? I find this part of the audio so incredibly strange. You wanna know why? Because the video starts with screaming fans, right? One of them even screaming Lauren’s name. Then there's this sentence said at the same time as the kiss. That alone proves they didn't say it, but that’s not even what makes that sentence weird for me. It's the fact that I believe it was inserted into the video. I mean, I can't hear what Lucy and Nando are saying who are much closer to the camera than Camren, but I can clearly hear this sentence which is should supposedly have been said by one of them in a low voice from inside the van? Like, whaaaat? Come on, now. Look and listen for yourself if you don't believe me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAZS1QhEgoU.
2) Surprised by what? And why are you so sure they slept together?
I hope you're having a good day too, dear Anon.
Tumblr media
Hello to you too, dear Anon 👋🏼😄 To me, Camila explains in a brilliantly sarcastic and sassy way, how she doesn't need a guy. Like “Cinderella never asked for a prince”, in this case, her.
If you think about it, all Disney princesses are beautiful, well-dressed, thin, with long hair, often naïve, and especially in the first movies, white. And all of them always follow the same basic model: they wait for the intervention of prince charming to solve the problems of their existence. Disney has luckily evolved over the years, but do you realize that they’ve made us grow up with the idea that to save us from our troubles and to change our lives, will be the encounter with ‘the right man’? That finding the love of one's life is the goal for a woman, and that beauty is the means to conquer it?
Disney movies, undoubtedly, convey a lot of positive messages. They can spur us on to being altruistic and optimistic, to commit ourselves to what we do, to try to change our own destiny, etc., etc. But they also have negative aspects and messages like, indeed, a Cinderella. The poor and beautiful maid, forced to work as a scullery maid by her stepmother and evil stepsisters, envious of her beauty. An unhappy housewife who doesn’t lift a finger to change the bad situation she’s in. And what's the only way her life changes? When the handsome and rich prince she met for only five minutes, marries her. I mean, what? Sis, you danced for a couple of hours at a party with him! You basically know nothing about him, but you marry him? Okay...
Disney animated movies are rites of passage, and although it may not seem from what I said, I really love animated movies. Although they have messages that may or may not adversely affect, they're also beautiful and fun. I grew up seeing them, and I am who I am today. I watched the videotapes every day and knew them all by heart. But then growing up, I realized that not everything they show is right. So, I advise you, dear Anon, and whoever is reading this, if you have a little sister, a little cousin, or are dealing with little girls, please, explain the differences to them as you watch those movies with them. Explain to them that beauty isn't everything. Explain to them that they don't need to be blonde and blue-eyed like Cinderella. Because they are and will be beautiful as they are, and that especially when they're older, this will not have to become a requirement to be socially accepted.
But anyway. Sorry if I dwelt, dear Anon 😅 I believe Camila used this song as her own unique way to dispel the stereotype of the classic Disney princess. Sentences like “She said ‘a dream is a wish your heart makes’, and he's a sad reality”, “Us twenty first century girls need chivalry too”, and “I'm still a damn princess to you” make us understand this. She didn't need a guy, and that's all the song stands for. Hope you have a good day too, dear 😊
🤸🏻‍♀‍🤸🏻‍♀‍🤸🏻‍♀‍
Aaand I'm done 😛 I hope I was helpful in this case too 🙃 Thank you all for your asks and as usual, know that I'm available for those who have questions, so feel free to ask 😊
Always remember to be kind, to others and to yourselves. Be a good example. Be patient. Be safe and take care of yourselves. Don't let our ship sink. Keep shipping them, but please respectfully 🙏🏼 Sending you virtual love and hugs 🤗🤗🤗 I love you, babies. Always with love, F ❤️

Not My Family
requested by: anon
“can you write shelby sis ( #105 & #113 angst list and #21 fluff list) being quite the troublemaker recently so everyone is upset with her and she tells the family that there's someone following her often but they don't believe her and just send her away. she gets attacked quite badly and stays with johnny dogs in his caravan (and he doesn't tell the family cause he's upset too) and when they see her again she doesn't want to talk to them cause they let her down? you can decide the end :)”
angst #105 “I thought you cared about me. someone who cares about someone else doesn’t let them down like you just did.” and #113 “I can’t look at you anymore.”
fluff #21 “I need a hug.”
pairing: shelby!reader x john shelby, shelby!reader x arthur shelby, shelby!reader x tommy shelby (no incest)
summary: once your brother told you that you had a family that would never let anything bad happen to you. when you grew up, you understood that thomas shelby was a motherfucking liar.
word count: 1, 239
warnings: angst, swearing, mentions of aggression and abuse, the word “fuck” is used a lot in here.
author’s note: I wanted this oneshot to be awesome because I loved the prompt, I really did!!! thank you for requesting this, thank you! and also thanks to my best friend who’s helping me every day with my writing. love you, boo.
Tumblr media
“I told them”, your voice was full of pain and resentment. “I told them there was someone following me, but they didn’t listen. They never listen to me”, you hissed under your heavy breath.
“I think you may have some broken ribs, Y/N. I should take you to a hospital”, Johnny said, clearly worried. You denied.
“If I go to the hospital, people will see. People will talk and they will come, I don’t wanna see those bastards right now. I don’t know if I want to see them ever again, to be honest”, you tried to look strong but it was difficult. Really difficult.
Everything was hurting; your legs, your torso, your head. You could still feel the warmth of the blood running through your hair, there’s probably a concussion. You felt off, you felt sad, but mostly, you felt angry.
“You could die”, he tried but were instantly interrupted by you.
“If it’s my time to die, so be it”, now your voice was lower, cracking a bit. “Thank you for taking care of me, Johnny.”
“Someone has to.”
***
Days passed by and you were getting better. Physically, at least; mentally, you were only getting sadder. Every day you would close your eyes and suddenly you were back at that night, being spanked, touched in ways that made you throw up just for thinking about.
Every day you would remember how you told your brothers countless times that someone was following, watching you. Every day you remembered they didn’t listen.
Your heart ached every time you thought about it.
“No one will ever hurt you, Y/N”, that’s what Tommy said when you were younger. “There are bad people that will try, but there’s us, your family, that won’t let them.”
Fucking liar.
“Y/N”, Johnny greeted as entering the caravan. “‘Was with the boys today, they’re convinced that you’re dead”, he told and you opened a wicked smile.
“Did you tell them?”
“Of course not. I think they deserve to think that for a while, at least until you get better”, he explained. “How’s your head today, by the way?”
“Still hurts a little, but it’s fine”, you tranquilized. “I guess I won’t be coming back home after. Maybe I should go to America, what do you think?”
He never had the chance to respond, because in a split second, Tommy was there.
***
“What the hell, Y/N?”, Arthur screamed as soon as he entered Tommy’s house. You were sitting on the sofa, eyes on your hands. “We fucking thought you were dead! Fucking dead!”
“Well, I almost was!”, you screamed back, standing up to impose yourself but regretting it when you felt dizzy because of the agonizing pain. You sat again, but added: “And that’s on you, all of you! Fucking bastards!”
“How is that our fault? We didn’t put a fucking gun in your head and told you to stay in the fucking caravan instead of going to the bloody hospital!”, now John was screaming.
Tommy, of course, didn’t say a word.
Maybe he didn’t care enough to do so.
“You put a gun in my head when I told you what was happening and you decided to ignore it. That’s what you did, you fucking ignored me!”
“I’m sorry if you’re always lying and fucking around, none of us could possibly imagine that you were being serious”, his voice was filled with irony and anger.
“I was being dead serious, John, don’t put it on me.”
You were exhausted, your hands were shaking and you felt like throwing up again. You did throw up every single day since the unfortunate event happened. Soon there were tears running down your cheeks and you hugged yourself, feeling alone.
“I thought you cared about me. Someone who cares about someone else doesn’t let them down like you did”, you cried out. The room was now in silence, the only sound you could hear was your own sobs.
Arthur was the first one to approach; he kneeled in front of you and tried to hold your hand, but you didn’t accept the gesture.
“Y/N...”, he hesitated. You knew he regretted everything, but it was too late now. “Look at me.”
“I’m sorry”, they could hear your hurt in your voice. “I can’t look at you anymore.”
A thunderous noise made you jump in your place and you looked up to see John, his face red, throwing everything off a table.
“Fuck!”, he yelled.
Tommy seemed tired of everything that was happening and that’s what hurt you the most. He stood up and walked in your direction, saying in a bittersweet tone: “We’re your family, we need each other. You can’t be mad with us forever.”
“You’re not my fucking family”, you spat. “Once you told me my family would never let anything bad happen to me, remember?”
“If we’re not your fucking family”, he sounded so cold, principally when added: “Go home. And only come back when you change your mind.”
You stood up again, ignoring the pain you felt and looking into his eyes while saying: “Fuck off, Thomas Shelby.”
***
You were incredibly drunk.
You knew you should keep alcohol away for a while, but you needed to forget what happened that afternoon. Fucking Shelbys.
Normally you’d be listening to some music, but your head still hurt a lot, so you decided not to.
That was it.
Your new life; you and whiskey.
“Fucking good life”, you said to yourself, laughing out loud. “Who needs family, eh?”
You swear you could hear a knock on your door but ignored it while looking at yourself in the mirror. The whiskey’s bottle in your hand, the messy hair, the purple marks on your face, arms, and legs.
“Fucking family”, you muttered again.
Knock, knock.
“For fuck's sake”, you walked to the door and opened it to see John and Arthur, looking lost and guilty as fuck. You groaned, “What are you doing here? Get lost!”
“We’re here to apologize”, John murmured.
“What is that now?”, your voice was bitter.
“We don’t agree with Thomas and... we decided to come here and apologize, Y/N. Properly”, it was Arthur’s time to speak. You could see their eyes examining your bruises.
“Come in”, you muttered, lying on the sofa.
Arthur closed the door and soon enough they were sitting on the same sofa as you; John on your right, Arthur on your left.
“We did this to you”, John started while Arthur nodded in agreement. “We didn’t listen to you and we’re really sorry. I only wish we could go back in time and...”
“Cut the bullshit”, you blurted. “There’s no going back, John. Let’s stick with the present, shall we?”, you didn’t notice, but you were crying again. Maybe the alcohol had cut off your control over your body.
“Fuck, Y/N...”, Arthur hissed.
“Please, forgive us. I’ll ask some man to guard your front door and if you need anything, anytime, you can call me and I’ll be there. I promise”, John seemed like he was going to fall apart.
You were his little sister, he couldn’t forgive himself.
“We promise!”, Arthur corrected. “What can we do for you? Just tell us. Anything. If you want me to go to Tommy’s and beat his ass I swear to God I’ll-”
A little, soft smile appeared on your face amongst the tears.
“I just need a hug, boys.”

third times a charm

The first time Donna tried confessing, she was drunk out of her mind. She’d just gotten back from Themyscira and it had been a bad trip. Apparently some people found the usually hidden island and launched an attack on the Amazon women. Donna had lost friends and was coping the only way she knew how to - with alcohol.
She was in mourning so nobody thought it was strange that she was drunk at two in the afternoon and just let her be. Except for you, of course. You loved the infamous Wonder Girl so it was only normal for you to be concerned about her.
You found Donna in her bedroom, she was sitting up on her bed with a beer bottle in her hand and about a dozen empty ones scattered on her nightstand and floor. “Donna?”
The girl whipped her head to the door at the sound of your voice. “Y/N,” She blew air from her lips as she patted the empty spot in front of her. “C’mere, sit with me. Have a drink.” She motioned to the half empty six pack beside her.
You sat down, declining the fresh beers and opted to take the one she loosely held in her grasp. “Hey,” She whined as she reached, but missed and ended up flinging her body onto yours. You grunted at the sudden force on you as she clumsily sat up and straddled you. “It’s not nice to take somebody's drink.” She pouted.
Softly smiling at her, you sat up with her still in your lap. Your hand was splayed across the small of her back, preventing her from falling. “Sorry, D. But do you think you should stop drinking now? Maybe get something to eat then-” You were cut off by her words.
“Can I kiss you?” The soft and pouty was she was looking at you made your heart skip a beat, but there was no way you’d be able to kiss her while she was in this state.
“Not now, okay? You're drunk and it doesn't feel right.” You explained while gently pushing her off your lap and back to her original spot on her bed. The sad puppy dog eyes she was giving you made you chuckle as you cleared off her bed. “How about you wait right here while I bring you up some food?.”
Donna was still pouting, but nodded at your suggestion. It took you less than ten minutes to get back up to her room, but she had already curled herself up in the sheets and fallen asleep. You quietly placed two pills and a water bottle on her nightstand before making your way out.
---
It was a bad mission. Dick, Hank and Donna had gotten badly hurt so it fell on you and Dawn to finish up the bad guys who were attacking and get your teammates back to the tower safely. It took longer than you thought, but you two got it done.
Once at the tower, everybody dispersed to their own rooms. Dawn taking Hank to theirs, him attached to her side as he limped. Dick hissed and groaned as he held onto his side where he was stabbed. You knew better than to ask if he wanted help, it was always a no. You looked over at Donna who leaned on the kitchen counter, head resting on her crossed arms. Donna’s injuries weren't quite physical, more mental and emotional. She was mad at herself, that was clear.
“Donna..” You softly called, making her look up at you. “It wasn't your fault, I promise. You don't have eyes in the back of your head, you couldn't have seen him run at me.”
She scoffed and shook her head, “But I was the closest to you! I-I could have done something and instead you got thrown into a wall and I know you seem fine now, but what if you weren't? I could never forgive myself if something happened to you, Y/N, it would-” She cut herself off abruptly, sighing instead. She was deep in thought, opting to stare at the marble countertop instead of you.
“It would what, Donna? Talk to me, you can tell me anything.” You pushed, reaching out to grab her hand.
Her eyes moved to your hands before meeting your gaze. “I uh forgot I needed to talk to Dick.” She pulled away, eyes cast downward and moved out of the kitchen. “Goodnight, Y/N.”
---
“Are you sure I look okay?” You tugged on the black mini dress Dawn had shoved you in. You were sure you’d give everybody a view if you bent down in this thing.
Dawn playfully slapped your hands away before moving to mess with your hair. “You look hot, Y/N. Your date is going to be blown away.” She smiled at you, clearly proud of her work. She had picked your outfit and done your hair and makeup, which you were thankful for. If it were up to you, you wouldn't be going on this date with Hank’s old college buddy. Dawn had decided it was time for you to get out into the dating world again, even though you were perfectly fine crushing on the Amazon woman who slept down the hall from you.
You sighed as you watched Dawn pick up the heels she chose for you. “Ready?”
“Do they have to be that high?”
The blonde opened her mouth, just to be cut off my Donna peeking her head into your bedroom. “Can I um talk to Y/N for a minute?”
Donna nodded, handing you the shoes before walking out. “I’ll be back to see you put those on!”
Immediately dropping the shoes on the floor, you sat on the bed and motioned for Donna to do the same. She’d been standing silently in the middle of the room, fiddling with her fingers. “Donna?”
She looked up, eyebrows raised, “Hm? Oh! I've been trying to talk myself into having this conversation for weeks, months even and I just can't find the words so I'm just going to go for it, okay?” She took a breath between sentences, but it wasn't enough for you to get a word in so you stayed silent, listening to her speak and begin to pace in front of you. “I know you have a date tonight, you look so gorgeous, by the way. But I just, I’ve had these feelings for you for so long and I know this is horrible timing and I'm so sorry, but I need you to know how I feel. Y/N, you’re the most amazing, strong, brave, person I know and it was just impossible for me not to fall for you and I love you.”
Donna stood in front of you at this point and you couldn't help but smile at her as she said the last few words with her eyes closed. “I don't know how long I've been waiting for you to say those words.”
Her eyes snapped open to find you two face to face. “What? You knew?”
“Not at first, Dick dropped a few hints a couple times and that really opened my eyes, but I knew you’d eventually tell me yourself and that's what I really wanted. I love you too, by the way.” You reached down to intertwine your hands.
The smile on Donna’s face was the cutest thing you’d ever seen. She slowly cupped your cheek with her free hand and brought her lips to yours. You weren't going to be cliche and say you felt sparks, but there was something there for sure.
You two pulled away at the sound of a voice, Dawn’s to be exact. “Finally!” Donna put an arm protectively around you as you turned to face Dawn who was shouting down the hall, “Hank! You gotta make a call!” She gave you two a wink before shutting the door.
Donna let out a laugh as you shook your head. “Looks like I'm all yours tonight.” You smiled at the girl whose loving gaze turned into something else.
“Good, lets start the night by getting you out of this dress,” She collided your lips once more and guided your bodies to the bed.
You’d wait forever for Donna Troy, but you were son glad you didn't have to.

yes to the explanation ✋🏼
warning: long content.
as you all know. gabriella is new to east high. as a new student, she’s going to adjust to a whole new school system again but that’s a habit she has gotten used to. but that doesn’t mean she likes it.
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Gabriella is constantly examining what she wants for herself. Will I feel more fulfilled taking advantage of college opportunities or by staying close to the people that are important to me? In contrast to Troy (dominant Fe user), whose main concern about auditioning for a musical is how his friends will react, her main concern is how it will affect her as an individual. She tends to be shy and private about her feelings and prefers not to be in the spotlight. Her main tool for making decisions seems to revolve around what she wants for herself independently, (“I’ve got to move on and be who I am”, I’ve got to let it go, start protecting my heart and soul”).
in hsm1, who was the first person that actually made her feel she could be herself? troy. he literally made her feel like she belonged there and told her he struggles the same problem of being stereotyped with the status quo the school has given him. troy isn’t used to standing up to people about gabriella because he just knew her. so he said all those lies to his team about gabriella not being important to him and that the musical was just time passing activity without knowing gabriella heard all of it. of course, you’d be hurt if you heard the first person who made you feel like yourself just admitted to everyone that you meant nothing to him. so gabi painfully told him she wouldn’t do the callbacks as well. implying that if he doesn’t wanna do it, she doesn’t wanna do it if he’s just gonna fake it. deep down she’s hurt and scared at what troy did. hence why she told taylor that even if they set troy and her up, no one told troy to said all those things. so everything that troy said in that video was all on him. no script. listen to when there was me and you. each lyric implies how deeply hurt she was. that she hoped troy was this person that could give her happiness that she seeks for so long but ends up hurting instead.
in hsm 2, gabi and troy promised each other that no matter what happens they’ll spend the summer together. gabi admitted to troy that after moving around all the time, all gabi wants more is to spend one summer with her friends. that she’ll remember that summer deep in her heart. at first, she didn’t mind troy being with sharpay because troy admitted in the later part of the film that she knows he’s only doing it to work on the scholarship thing. also it was tradition for lava springs workers to perform in the talent show. she grabs that opportunity so that her friends could relax and do something fun together. but then troy ends up focusing too much on the scholarship thing he didn’t realize he’s becoming someone he’s not: being a jerk to his friends, canceling on his friends the last minute, forgetting his dates with gabi. she lets troy be because she knows it’s important to him. but sharpay crossed the line by banning all junior staff workers to perform and work instead that night. she stood to sharpay. for the first time she stood up for herself and her friends. she tells sharpay off, saying she does not give a fuck about her activities with troy. implying its between her and him. that its not her place to meddle in. but sharpay meddled with her friends. the friends that did nothing but followed the rules and minding their business by practicing for the show. remember gabi first told sharpay don’t give a fuck about us but you really had the nerve to do that to your own brother? how ryan worked so hard on the performance? remember gabi was the one who picked ryan up when sharpay tossed him away once she thought she’s secure with troy. she ends sharpay by telling her that she does not want to play her game because she’ll always have the upper hand but she better watch her actions and its consequences because there will always be someone who will end up injured by it. after that, troy confronts her about hearing her quitting her lifeguard job. think about it. she’s gonna quit because she can’t work another second if troy’s gonna act that way because it pains her to see it. she tells him that working together seemed like a fun idea but after everything, she couldn’t handle it. but she painfully urges him to continue with the scholarship thing. continue with his new job post. but troy quickly defends himself that he’s acting this way because of the scholarship thing. what did gabi reply? she implied that what’s the point on working on this thing he’ll end up losing himself? that he’ll end up losing the real people that will support and love him? i also wanna imply that gabi wouldn’t have broken up with troy if she didn’t confronted sharpay. that stunt pulled a trigger on gabi. meaning if sharpay didn’t fucked up, gabi would’ve stayed with troy. she would’ve ended up being in a toxic relationship with him. yes toxic because she’ll always be in the receiving end of troy’s constant abandonment behavior. she’ll let him pass. not putting herself first. even taylor said that despite troy being the caring boyfriend he is, he’ll bound to fuck up and that gabi shouldn’t let it pass. but gabi puts herself first. in gotta go my own way, the lyrics said that she knows that her and troy are meant to be but right now, she needs to put herself first.
in hsm 3, the only problem was the honors program. lets clear this up. in the deleted scene, she stated that she wants to hold off the program. saying that she was thinking of taking courses in U of A before going to stanford. of course the reason behind this is her not ready to leave yet. leave troy. leave her friends. and especially leave albuquerque. the one place that felt home for a long time. she wasn’t ready to tell troy because she knows that he’ll tell her to attend the program. the reason why gabi doesn’t wanna leave is because if she leaves, she knows that she’ll have to leave everything behind. the same way she has been doing since moving around the country. her phone call with troy was her saying that she couldn’t do the long distance thing no matter how much her and troy talked about it. it’ll always bring her pain to go back to albuquerque for her to leave again. if she went back for prom and graduation, her pain would double. she tells troy that she loves him but she couldn’t leave stanford because it has become her priority now.

...
Everything was different and yet the same. No more English Lit, you were a Journalism major working hard towards your lifelong dream of typing for a living. Of capitalizing on the frustration of a blinking cursor as you tried to formulate a hook. After a summer of working weddings and overzealous parties, you were ready to hunker back down in your bookish university life.
Despite your shift in focus, Kylie was still very much a cornerstone of your campus life. You saw each other once a week, if you were lucky, twice. She messaged you almost daily, still grieving Taylor’s enlistment. You studied together and when you were particularly exasperated with her nagging, you let her drag you to one of her extracurricular get-togethers.
You’d changed too. Still very much the honours student but a little less uptight. And you had a secret. A very big secret. One Kylie could never know.
She had guessed, at least half of it. It didn’t take her much to catch on that you had finally taken the plunge. You’d finally lost your virginity. You weren’t sure if the sway of your hips had changed or your head was held a little higher, but she had guessed on your first day back in September.
She’d beamed and bugged you for details. You were cautiously vague upon your recounting. She could never know that it had been with her own dad. You could only imagine her reaction. Never anything less than impulsive and dramatic, you knew the revelation would ensure the end of your friendship. And as one-sided as your relationship could be, it was preferable to being alone on campus.
As your communications class ended, you packed up along with the rest of the lecture hall. You were near the front as always. You folded up the small desk and shoved your books in your bag. You pulled on your harvest orange jacket as you glanced up to the front. Professor Barnes leaned on his desk as he talked with another student.
You hooked your bag over your shoulder and checked your phone as you descended the stairs to the front. Kylie’s message flashed in your vision and you swore. It had totally slipped your mind. Oh well, she could wait a couple minutes.
You neared the desk in the corner where the professor chattered with others and packed up his papers. You waited patiently as you looked up at the blank projection screen. Finally, you stepped up as the conversation ended and smiled up at him. His dark hair was limned with strands of silver, his blue eyes shone as he glanced over at you. You could have swooned, even if he was twenty years older than you. Hell, that hadn’t stopped you before.
“I wanted to sign up for that workshop,” You declared without greeting. Your nerves forced the words from your brain. “I have the form.”
You let your bag fall to your elbow and reached in to fish out the folded paper. You held it out to him and your cheek twitched as your smile threatened to fall.
“Great,” He took the form and placed it on top of the pile of essays. “I’m glad you’ve decided to do it. It will be a great experience, and seeing as you’re making up for lost time, it’ll help with that too.”
“Thanks,” You beamed. “I...I’m excited.”
He smiled and closed the folder over the papers and tucked them away. He rounded the desk as the last of the students filtered out the door. “Me, too. Your work is exceptional and I can only see it getting better.” He walked slowly towards the door beside you as he juggled his bag and pulled on his dark jacket. “Keep it up and you’ll be teaching this class in a few years. Or better, I might just see your name in the New Yorker.”
You giggled but killed it before it could turn pathetic. You preceded him into the hall as he waited for you to go ahead and he closed the door behind him. “Thanks, Professor.”
“I mean it,” He replied. “I made sure they approved your transfer. You had no place wasting away in Lit.” You smiled wider and he peeked over his shoulder and then at his watch. “Well, I’ll see you at the workshop. Monday morning.” He said. “Alas, I have a Friday night of marking to keep me company and no desire to leave it ‘til Saturday.”
“Okay, thank you, Professor,” You retreated as he turned halfway to head in the opposite direction. “Really. I’ll see you Monday.”
“Have a good night,” He winked and turned to stride down the hall as you mumbled your response.
You watched him go and grasped the handle of your bag tightly. Shit. Okay. Stop. He was your professor. You shouldn’t make your questionable decisions a habit. Had you not learned last summer?
-
When you got to Kylie’s, you had to buzz twice. The dormitory door stuck and you barely managed to wrench it open before the lock clicked back in place. Your hands and face felt raw from the autumn wind as you climbed the stairs and the stuffy building smothered you. You knocked on her door; three other girls shared her flat and you could hear voices from within.
Marlo opened the door as she giggled to the girls in the kitchen to the right of her. She waved you in. You were there enough that they knew you by now. Shae stood in the doorway to the kitchen and they looked at each other knowingly.
“Hey,” Marlo finally stifled her scandalous trill. “Kylie’s just in her room…” She looked once more to Shae, “She’s got a visitor.”
Shae snickered. “Oh yes, her dad’s been lecturing her for twenty minutes... though I’d listen to any lecture he had for me.”
“Oh, yes, daddy,” Marlo returned. “Makes all these fratboys look like children.”
“Her dad?” Your face and heart fell. You peered down the hall to her door. It was open and you heard his voice. It was definitely him. “Maybe I should come back.”
“Nah, it’s fine, she’s tryna get him out ASAP as it is. She has a date with that Tristan guy.” Marlo mused.
“I thought his name was Troy.” Shae intoned.
“Whatever,” Marlo shrugged and nodded down the hall. “Go on and save her.”
The hallways seemed to get longer as you looked down the blue and grey carpet. The girls retreated back to the kitchen, the clink of glass jolted you. You slowly stepped forward and as you got closer you heard both Kylie and Steve. Steady, pleasant. They must’ve worked through whatever issue Steve had tucked in his back pocket.
You gulped and stepped up to the half-open door and knocked on it. They looked over in unison. For a moment the resemblance was stunning but faded away in an instant. Steve’s lips formed a crooked smirk and Kylie greeted you with her usual snarky brow.
“About time,” She crossed her arms.
“Class.” You returned sharply and reached into your bag. “Mind the state of it but here you go.”
You handed her your worn copy of Wuthering Heights and she took it with indifference and tossed it on her bed.
“Hey,” Steve greeted, a hand on his hip as he flagrantly looked you up and down. “How’s it going?”
“Fine. Studying, you know.” You answered shortly as Kylie swiped up her phone.
“Dad, oh my god, are you staying here all night?” She whined as she looked up.
“Don’t worry, I’ll get out of your hair, just figured I’d check in while I was in the area,” Steve shook his head. “She thinks I don’t know but she’s got a boy coming over.”
“Dad!” Kylie fumed and lowered her phone.
“I’ll just be on my way too.” You assured her. “Midterms coming up.”
“Need a ride?” Steve offered swiftly. You glanced at Kylie but she didn’t seem to notice her father’s deft reply.
“I have a bus pass,” You said. “I’ll be fine.”
“Ah, let me drive you,” He insisted. “I miss the city.”
“Fine,” You accepted and Kylie was already back in her dms.
“Okay, you guys, be safe,” She sat on the edge of her bed, “Love ya, dad.”
You lifted your brows and silently cursed her oblivion. You dared to look at Steve and he smiled triumphantly. In Kylie’s mind you’d already left so you turned and swept out the door. Easier to argue with him outside. He followed and you caught a glimpse of Marlo and Shae peeking out the kitchen as you opened the door. They gushed at the sight of Steve as he disappeared into the hall with you.
“I really don’t need a ride.” You sighed. “I appreciate the offer though.”
“Oh, come on, why are you being so cold? I know it’s been a while but...well...I missed you.” He descended the stairs behind you. “Didn’t expect to see you but I’m visiting and I can’t help but check up on Kylie.”
“I…” You turned down the next flight and huffed. “I just wanna forget about whatever it was that happened in the summer, okay? Kylie’s my friend and if she found out--”
“If she was gonna find out, she would’ve by now,” He caught your arm as you made to turn again and he pushed you up against the wall. “She won’t know. It’s fine. It was all very...natural. Didn’t it feel right?”
You looked away. Your face burned as you thought about that last night. The things you’d done with him. The sheer pleasure of his touch. The epiphany of the savage physicality. Those scene’s you had replayed in your head, and not just with him, though it had only been a reality with him.
“Steve--”
“Is there a boy? Hmm? It doesn’t bother me. You should explore your sexuality.” He cradled your face and ran his thumb over your chin. “Use what I taught you.”
“Stop.” You caught his hand. “We can’t--”
He smirked again. “So there hasn’t been anyone else.”
“No,” You answered the statement. He knew. He always read you so well. “Okay.”
He considered you for a moment. “But you’ve thought about it? About others?”
You lowered your head in defeat. He didn’t need your confirmation; he knew that too.
“So...you wanna come see my suite? It’s a nice hotel...balcony, hot tub, great view...better with you.” His breath was hot as he leaned in and you finally looked up at him.
“Goddamn it.” You cursed him just before he pressed his lips to yours.
-
The guilt wasn't enough to change your mind once your surrender was given. Why should you feel bad anyway? Kylie always ditched you for guys and she'd never know. And so it couldn't hurt her.
Steve's hand kept you distracted from your second thoughts. He gripped your thigh as he drove as he steered with one hand. You were the same nervous girl, this time barely more than a virgin. One night hadn't been enough to dissolve your natural timidity. One night could never be enough.
You stared at his fingers and your heart stuttered. You thought of all the ways he had touched you; the ways he had yet to touch you. Shit, what were you doing? Had you not promised yourself it was a one time thing? Was Kylie not your friend? Steve not her father?
The world blurred with your doubts and soon you followed Steve through the front doors of upscale hotel. Surely the man in his pressed suit didn't belong with the bookish student. Someone was bound to notice you. But this was New York and people didn't care about others or their scandals; not without a touch of fame.
"Wait, why are you in the city anyway?" You asked as the elevator doors shut.
"I got a friend down here. I had some business down this way and he asked me to hang around for a few days so we could catch up." He slipped his arm around you. "And of course I thought of you. The chance we might run into each other again."
"Oh," You said dumbly. You stepped off the elevator and he led you to a door at the end of the hall. "I...I don't know if I can do this."
"Fair enough but tell me something." He stopped and drew his arm away from your shoulders. "Did I hurt you last time? Did you not enjoy it? What is so wrong about us?"
You turned to him and searched his face. You shrugged, speechless.
"It's just sex. Whatever the circumstances, we're not doing anything wrong. We're two adults, we're attracted to each other. That's all it needs to be." He took out his room key and flicked the card with his finger. "So, you coming in?"
You looked at the door and swallowed. If you said no, you'd have to find your way home from there. You doubted he intended to drive you anywhere if you refused. Regardless, you couldn't deny the longing deep inside. These doubts were a poor mask for your real desires.
He unlocked his door and again waited for you to enter first. His suite was bigger than the boxy apartment you’d leased off-campus. He closed the door behind him as he followed you inside. You kept your distance and crossed to the large windows that overlooked the blinking and blaring city. You stared down at the distant streets as he moved around behind you.
“You gonna stay a while?” He teased and you turned to look at him as he removed his jacket and then his finely tailored blazer. You slowly unbuttoned your peacoat as he knelt to open the minifridge. “You wanna drink? Maybe it’ll help you relax.”
“I am relaxed,” The squeak in your voice was wholly unconvincing. He smiled and pulled out a small bottle of wine.
“Sure,” He crossed to the small kitchenette and pulled out two wineglasses. He emptied the bottle into both. “So, you got into journalism after all?”
He took both glasses and neared you. He handed you one as he sipped from the other.
“Yeah. It’s...better,” You smelled the dry wine before you tasted it. “Not so repetitive.”
“Mmm,” He sat on the edge of the bed and rubbed the empty space beside him. You sat tentatively and nursed your wine. “That’s good.”
His hand crawled over to your thigh and he drained the last of his wine. You stared at yours as he squeezed and you downed it as quickly as you could to still the nerves whirring in your stomach. You almost choked as you did and he removed his hand to take your empty glass. He stood and placed them on the small table on the other end of the room.
“So...anything in particular you wanted to try?” He smirked as he turned back to you.
You shook your head shyly as the wine gathered warmly in your cheeks. He chuckled as he resumed his place next to you. He cradled your face as he turned to you and leaned in.
“You’re so sweet.” He kissed you and you let him. He pulled away for a moment and rubbed the tip of his nose against yours. “I haven’t stopped thinking of you. I can’t stop…”
“Steve,” You warned and he pecked your lips again.
“I’m not being sentimental,” He breathed, “I think about you when I’m alone. Horny. I imagine you’re there with me...do you think of me?”
You lowered your lashes tellingly. He chuckled and kissed you again. His tongue pushed past your lips as he devoured you and his hand explored the curves of breast and stomach. You forgot about your reluctance. Forgot about the guilt. About Kylie and what she would think. He was right, she’d never know.
He finally pulled away, his blue eyes dilated and hungry. “I want you naked.” He rasped. “Then I want you to undress me.” His hand hovered just along your waist. “Can you do that, sweetie?”
You pulled your wool sweater over your head as you stood. The wine swirled your vision. A single glass and you were tipsy already. You should’ve eaten before class. You turned to him as you untangled yourself from the wool and revealed the slouchy tee hidden beneath. He smiled up at you and took the sweater. He rubbed it between his thumbs before tossing it away.
You knelt awkwardly as you untied your boots and set them aside. How very unsexy it was as you balled your socks up together. He kicked off his shoes too and you focused on your task. You tore your tee off as you turned back to him and his eyes never left you; they clung to your hands as you worked at the layers. Admired the plain grey bra that cupped your tits despite its fraying straps.
You pulled down your jeans and he hummed in delight. The front of his pants twitched and he leaned back on his hands as he watched. As you stood, your tits threatened to spill out. You unhooked your bra and dropped it behind you and tucked your thumbs under your panties, drawing forth the last of your courage.
“Sweetie, I just don’t know how you don’t have the boys lined up,” He purred. “Look at you.”
You couldn’t help your smile. You rolled your panties down and kicked them away. As you stood up straight, he rose and stepped closer. His fingers grazed the bare skin along your hip.
“My turn,” He intoned.
You reached up, almost without thinking, and your fingers clumsily worked at his buttons. You pulled the hem free of his pants and when it was entirely loose you pushed it down his broad shoulders. He let you as he watched silently. You looked up at him and realized you were chewing your lip anxiously. You stopped yourself and he admired your lips.
“Keep going,” He urged.
You freed him of the expensive shirt and let it crumple on the floor. You unbuckled his belt and unbuttoned his fly swiftly, yoyouru fingers working more deftly as the tickle stirred between your legs. You pushed his pants down his thick legs. Twice your age and in better shape, you marvelled.
He stepped out of the trousers and your hand absently grazed his bulge. You gasped and he shivered at your touch. You peeked up at him as you grasped the elastic of his briefs. He grinned and nodded. You bit your lip again and he reached up to drag his thumb along it. You tugged his briefs down and slowly lowered your eyes as you uncovered his cock.
You backed away and took in the whole of him. What were you doing?
He sat down on the bed again and his cock bobbed against his stomach. He beckoned you closer with two fingers and he fell onto his back. “Get up here,” He tapped his chest.
“What?” You crawled up beside him.
“Here,” He repeated. “I’ve been dying to taste you again.”
You blanched. You were unsure. Last time, he had been in control. You’d been on your back and his face was buried between your thighs. You just had to lay there; let your instincts take over. You shakily climbed up the mattress and looked over at him as he licked his lips.
He helped you as you carefully positioned yourself over him, your knees on either side of his head. It was awkward for you. His eyes clung to your pussy and he pulled you down impatiently. His tongue delved along your folds and you squeaked in surprise.
He flicked along your clit and back down as he drank you in. You relaxed as he lapped at you and his hands snaked around your thighs. He kneaded them and suckled on your clit as the electricity gathered in a pinpoint. You moaned and arched your back as you longed for more. He tended to you more fervently and groaned.
You spread your fingers over his golden hair and leaned into him. The currents travelled along your back and thighs as your breath hitched. You were soon grinding against his face as you felt your orgasm mounting. You threw your head back and let out a long moan as you came, your entire being shook at the sudden waves of ecstasy. His fingertips pressed into your thighs and he hummed in delight below you.
Your hips twitched one last time and you glanced down at him. You lifted yourself on your knees as you blinked at him numbly. “Are you okay?” You gasped.
“I’m in heaven,” He assured you as he drew circles along the back of your thighs. He slipped a hand down and you looked back as he gripped his cock. “Move back. I can’t wait any longer.”
Your lips parted; breathless, stunned. Your body worked without your consent. Like it wasn’t yours at all but his to play with as he would. You lowered yourself over him and his cock brushed against your wet pussy. He shuddered and wiped his glistening lips as he watched you intently.
You reached beneath you and stroked him. His eyes widened in surprised delight. You angled him towards your entrance. Your muscles tensed hungrily as his tip pressed against you. You sank onto him slowly and held your breath. It wasn’t so painful as the first time. Of course, after your first time, it had been much easier. He had fucked you until it was too easy.
As he bottomed out you let out an airy moan and he echoed you. He reached up to play with your tits, his thumbs circled your nipples as his eyes roved the rest of your body. “Fuck, your still so fucking tight.” He pushed your tits together and moaned again.
You rocked your hips carefully. You relished the feel of him. The fullness. You hadn’t realized how much you’d wanted to feel it again. His hands fell to your hips and he guided you. Steady, slow. He watched your pussy move along his cock and his eyes darkened with unadulturated lust. You pressed your palms to his chest and sped up just a little. Your clit rubbed deliciously against him.
“Oh, sweetie,” He purred. “I fucking missed this.”
He took your hands and pulled them over his shoulders as he sat up. You hooked your arms around him as he grabbed your ass and led your motion. You bounced in his lap, the friction between your sweaty bodies seared your flesh. You panted as he guided you faster and faster. He plunged into you over and over and your walls clung to him.
A pathetic stream of moans and groans escaped you as you felt the bloom again. You hugged him tighter and he bowed his head to nibble at your tits. You quaked as you came harder than before. He pulled his head away and grabbed the back of your head as he pressed his lips to yours again.
He parted and whispered against your skin. “I’m gonna cum, sweetie. Can I cum on your tits?”
You nodded and he tapped your ass. You climbed off of him and knelt before him as his breaths were interspersed with heady groans.
“Help me, sweetie.”
He took your hand and wrapped your fingers around his cock. He led your first stroke than let go. He watched as your hand glided up and down his length and he clutched the blankets beneath him as he grunted. His cum shot across your chest and neck and his body trembled in his rapture.
You pulled away your hand, slick with his cum, and sat back on your heels as you hung your head. The afterglow didn’t last long as you stared at your glistening palm. You were so weak; so selfish.
“Sweetie,” Steve reached down and lifted your chin with two fingers. “Don’t do that to yourself. You’re beautiful, you deserve to be admired.” He grabbed your elbow and helped you stand. “Come here.”
He pulled you close and fell back with you across the bed. He embraced you as his cum cooled between your chests. Your heart beat furiously against him and you closed your eyes. He sighed and ran his fingers along your hair.
“I’m here ‘til next Friday,” He said. “Lots of time to get caught up.”

Michael Clifford x Reader
Word Count: 7k+
Trigger warnings: Some swear word, mentions of abuse, self harm.
A/N: I’m new to the 5sos fandom and it’s been over a year since I last wrote something. Please don’t be too harsh. I also want to say, please do not read this if you’re easily triggered! If you’re struggling with self harm, please talk to some one. Anyways, I needed some soft!Michael in my life, so here you go
Tumblr media
I bit my lip trying to ignore the stinging behind my eyes as I walked down the street toward Michael’s house. I huffed, pulling on the strap of my stuffed overnight bag. Hopefully he’s not too busy. He’d be understanding of my situation. He always is.
As his house came into view I picked up the pace, just short of running. Unable to move as fast as I’d like to because of all the weight I was carrying in both of my bags.
“Please be home. Please be home,” I chanted to myself as I got up the porch.
I gently knocked on the door. After a few moments of waiting, I heard some noise coming from inside. At least I know someone is home. I quickly rang the doorbell.
“Just a sec!” a voice called out from inside.
Not even a second later, the door opened showing Michael in his pajamas. His dirty blonde hair was sticking up in different directions. He had a wide smile on his face that immediately fell as soon as he saw my face.
“(Y/n), what’s wrong?”
I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing but a loud sob came out. Warm tears started sliding down my cheeks. My chest felt empty. My body started curling in on itself. A few gross sobs came out from behind my hand as I tried to cover them up.
Michael wasted no time pulling me inside and closed the door. Wrapping me up the best he could into his arms, bags mostly in the way.
“Hey, hey. You’re okay. I’m here,” he hushed me. “Let’s put these bags down, yeah? Get some weight off of you.”
He grabbed the bag on my shoulder and set it to the ground before helping me take my backpack off. As he went to set it down, I quickly moved to the couch in the living room and curled up on it. Michael sat down beside me, and pulled me into his chest.
“M-my… She…” I sobbed.
Michael shushed me. “Talk when you’re ready. Take your time.”
I gasped and sniffled between sobs. Ruining Michael’s shirt with my tears and snot. He didn’t say anything though. Just rubbing small comforting circles into my back.
After a long time, I finally stopped blubbering. Tears still came from my eyes, but not nearly as fast as they were. Michael squeezed me gently before letting me go, turning to face me.
“What happened?” he whispered, tucking some of my hair behind my ear.
“Mom kicked me out.” My voice was scratchy and barely there.
His brows knitted together as he frowned. “Why did she kick you out? Was it because of Troy?”
I simply nodded in response.
“Obviously we’ll have to ask my parents, but I’m sure they wouldn’t mind you staying here. I mean, they haven’t minded you staying here in the past. They love you.”
I nodded again before looking around the living room. “Where are they anyways?”
“They went on a lunch date and to the store. They’ll be back soon.”
“Okay.”
“Why did she kick you out?”
I bit my lip thinking about my response. Michael knew enough. He knew the most about what was going on. But still not everything. He knew how Troy would drink and lay around the house. How he made a mess of everything. Michael knows about the first time he slapped my mom. But, only the first time. Not that it’s gotten worse. Or that sometimes he’d hit me when I got in the way of him hurting my mom. He doesn’t know that I’d have to lock my bedroom door so I didn’t get a visit from him in the middle of the night.
Another sob raked through my body. “We got into a fight. I was telling her how much of an ass he is. She, of course, took his side.”
“Oh, (Y/n).” Michael pulled me into another hug.
“I couldn’t do it anymore. I told her that it was him or me. And… And now I’m here…”
“That’s right. You’re here now. You have a home here and you don’t have to go through this alone.”
“Thank you Michael.”
“Let’s get your stuff into my room for now. We’ll probably have you move into the guest room, but I need to check with my parents first.”
As we got up and grabbed my bags I whispered, “Sorry for ruining your Sunday.”
“(Y/n) you never ruin my day. The circumstances suck, sure, but I’m always happy to see you.”
His green eyes were staring into mine. Like he was looking into my soul. I quickly nodded my head and looked around his room as we walked in. There were various band posters hung on the walls. His full sized bed was tucked into the corner. A bookshelf was pressed against the wall at the foot of his bed. Next to that was a computer set up. Across the room opposite of the bed was a TV with various gaming consoles connected to it. Halo was paused on the screen.
He brushed past me and set my overnight bag on his bed. I followed his lead and put my backpack on the bed.
“What did you plan on doing today?” I asked, trying to make light-hearted conversation.
“I plan on spending it with you.”
“I meant before I showed up at your door.”
He sighed. “I was just going to play games until the boys come over. Luke, Calum, Ashton and I were going to practice. But, I can text them and tell them that today won’t work.”
I quickly shook my head. “No, they can still come over. I like listening to you guys play. And while you’re practicing I can do my homework.”
Michael groaned. “Seriously? You’re worrying about homework right now?”
“Yeah I am. School is the one thing I have going for me right now,” I snapped.
He put his hands up. “I’m sorry, (Y/n). I’ll still have them come over. We like having you there at practice anyways. Reminds us that at least someone likes to listen to us.” Micheal then mumbled, “Even if you’re doing homework the whole time.”
“What was that?”
“Nothing!” He gave me a cheeky grin. “You wanna play Halo with me while we wait for them?” He motioned to the TV.
I nodded with a small smile.
---------
I bobbed my head to the music the boys were playing while I was held up in the corner of the room. My math textbook opened demonstrating an example of the problem I was working on. The music stopped as I got halfway through. They started talking among themselves, but I paid no attention to what they were saying. They did this often to talk about the music and different things they could try.
Their voices died down as I finished up the problem I was on. When I looked up, I saw them all staring at me.
“What?” I asked.
“(Y/n),” Michael started.
“What?” I squinted my eyes at them suspiciously.
“Will you order pizza?” Calum asked.
“Seriously guys? Why can’t you order your own pizza?” I whined.
“Because you order the best pizza,” Luke explained.
“Yeah, no one makes pizza orders like you. They always hit the spot,” Ashton patted his belly.
Agreements came from all of the boys.
“Fine,” I groaned. I hated talking on the phone. “Who’s paying for said pizza?”
They all looked among themselves. After having a silent conversation, Michael spoke up saying that he will. He pulled his wallet out of his back pocket and pulled his debit card out. I sighed as I got up, grabbing my phone and headed over to Michael. I grabbed the card and started dialing to the pizza place.
“Any drinks or anything with the pizza?”
“Do I look rich to you (Y/n)?” Michael shot out before anyone could say what else they wanted.
His behaviour made me snort. Michael always had a knack of making me feel better. Even though today’s events were still playing on repeat in my head, it moved to the back of my mind.
I stepped out of the room as I was ordering our food. They boys fell into easy conversation and it was a little noisy.
As I made my way back into the room, all their eyes were on me again.
“Umm… It’s ordered,” I announced. They just kept staring. Michael had a guilty look on his face. “What’s going on now?”
Calum was the first one to move. He set his bass down, walked over to me and pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around him. Looking over at Michael, I gave him a quizzical look.
He scratched the back of his head and blushed before offering an explanation. “They sort of got out of me that you’re moving in.”
“You told them?” I shrieked, pulling out of Calum’s hug.
“No-” Michael started.
“He didn’t tell us everything!” Luke finished walking over to me. “Just that something happened you needed a place to live.”
“And we know how hard that must be for you,” Ashton added, getting up from where he sat.
Tears welled up in my eyes again and my heart sank. My knees gave out from under me. A sob bubbled out of my throat as I crumbled down to the floor. In an instant Michael was on the floor with me, pulling me into his side again.
Luke, Calum, and Ashton looked among each other, then down at me and Michael. They moved around us and lowered themselves down to the ground. They pulled me into a group hug with all of them.
“Don’t worry (Y/n), you have all of us,” Ashton murmured.
“We’re all here for you,” Calum added.
“You have a place to stay with all of us,” Luke comforted.
My crying reduced to sniffles as I took in their words. Maybe my mom didn’t have my back, but they did. They’re my real family.
“Michael, (Y/n), everyone, your pizza is here!” Michael’s mom called out.
Slowly we all slowly pulled ourselves off of the floor. Michael pulled me into another hug before he left to go grab the pizza.
When Michael came back with pizza and paper towels in hand, he came up to me so I could get the first slice. I pulled one slice and watched the melted cheese try to keep itself attached. Using my free hand, I broke the cheese. I started nibbling on my slice as he went to the rest of the boys who each grabbed two slices, placing their extra slice on a piece of paper towel.
I sat and listened to them joke around, giving them small smiles as they attempted to lighten the mood.
“You know what might help you feel better (Y/n)?” Calum asked looking at me.
“What?” My voice was hoarse.
“Writing in down,” he answered.
I couldn’t help but snort.
“That’s a great idea Calum!” Ashton piped up. “You can help us write a song!”
“I don’t know about that. I mean, I don’t have any musical talent. That’s all you guys,” I whined.
Luke put his pizza down and moved to grab his notebook. He flipped it open to a blank page and handed it to me with a pencil. “Just try,” he said softly.
I looked over to Michael for back up. He was busy eating his pizza. When he saw me looking at him, he quickly swallowed before shrugging. “It’s worth a shot.”
I sighed and looked at the blank paper in my hands. “I don’t even know where to begin!”
“Here let me get you started,” Michael spoke walking up next to me. He took the notebook out of my hands and scribbled something down. Handing it back to me, he gave a half smile.
At the top of the page, he had written “Broken Home.”
I quickly wiped a tear that was rolling down my cheek before nodding. “Okay, I can work with this.”
Taking a deep breath I started thinking about my home life and what I was comfortable to write down for the boys to see. I thought about Troy, my mom’s boyfriend. Everything he did to both me and her. How he’s ruined everything.
I wrote down, “You ruined everything.” I quickly crossed it out after I wrote it, not happy with that line. Next I wrote, “Drunk,” and crossed that out too. Next I tried, “I'm stuck in between a nightmare and lost dreams.” That one stayed. “Only satisfied with a bottle in your hand,” was the next line to be written and crossed out.
I took another deep breath trying to think. The boys waited quietly for me to collect my thoughts. I then thought about my dad. I miss him. When I was ten, he and mom were fighting all the time until he had enough and walked out. I haven’t seen him since.
Turning back to the paper I wrote, “They would yell, they would scream, they were fighting it out.” I took a moment to read that line over again. I was pretty satisfied with it. Not knowing how to continue that specific line, I moved down a few lines before writing, “Hey, mom. Hey, dad. When did this end? When did you lose your happiness? I'm here alone inside of this broken home. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Who really cares? The fault, the blame, the pain’s still there. I'm here alone inside of this broken home.”
The page was full with that. I sighed and handed the notebook back to Michael. He took it gingerly. He read over it, nodding his head. Once he was done, he handed it to Luke. As soon as it left his hands, he pulled me into a bear-hug. I wrapped my arms around his waist and breathed in his scent. I looked over to Luke, who had Ashton and Calum reading over his shoulder.
As Michael slowly pulled away, Calum spoke up, “This is really good.”
“Yeah, (Y/n)! And you said you couldn’t do it,” Ashton gave a cheeky grin.
I blushed, “You really think so?”
“Yeah!” they all agreed.
“Maybe we could make the letter part a chorus?” Micheal threw out.
“We can make that work. I actually have a melody that I’ve been working on. Want me to play it for you?” Luke offered, looking at me.
“Let’s hear it,” I nodded.
Luke handed the notebook to Calum before walking over to the keyboard in the corner of the room and started playing. The cords were actually really good. I couldn’t help the small smile that came to my face.
When he finished playing, he looked around at all of us, expectantly. I clapped my hands together, and he gave a small bow.
“Play it again,” Calum instructed.
Luke obliged. Calum started singing the words that I had written. I couldn’t help the tears that welled up in my eyes while listening to them. Once they were done I pulled both of them into a hug.
“Oh my god, guys. That was amazing!” I gushed. Tears were falling down my cheeks. “If you don’t put this in your album, I will never forgive you!”
They all laughed at my comment.
“It’s definitely going in,” Michael promised.
Suddenly Michael’s mom’s voice called out to us again, “It’s getting late, Michael, (Y/n). You have school tomorrow!”
We all groaned in unison before giving each other hugs, wishing each other a good night.
-----------
I jolted up out of bed in a cold sweat. My body felt like it was on fire. I gasped for air, trying to catch my breath. My eyes were greeted with the darkness of the room I was in. They burned yet again from tears.
I had another nightmare.
Kicking the blankets off of me, I swung my legs off the side of the bed. I put my face in my hands and started crying.
Is this my life now? Always crying. I’m so pathetic. How do the guys tolerate me? How does Michael?
Michael.
I slowly slid off the bed. I walked out of the guest room and made my way down the hall. When I got to my destination, I found the door slightly ajar. Quietly I pushed my way in and headed over to Michael’s sleeping form.
He was snoring softly and had one arm hanging off his bed. I bent down and gently grabbed his arm. His skin was cool compared to mine. I shook his arm, whispering, “Mikey. Hey Michael.”
He groaned and pulled his arm away. Slowly rolling over, he looked at me.
“(Y/n)?” His voice was deep with sleep.
“Hey Mikey.” I gave a small smile at his sleepy form, wiping away stray tears from my eyes. “Sorry to wake you.”
“No, no. It’s okay,” he reassured, sitting up. “Are you okay?”
I paused before nodding. “I had a nightmare.”
He grabbed my hand with a soft, “Come here.” He slid his body toward the wall, pulling me with him. I complied and slid onto the bed next to him. He laid back down and pulled me into his chest. I fisted his shirt, trying to pull him closer as I listened to his steady heartbeat. His welcoming scent filled my nostrils.
“What was it about?” he asked.
“I don’t really remember,” I answered honestly. Though I had an idea it was about Troy.
He replied with a small hum.
“I’ve been having them a lot lately,” I admitted.
Michael’s arm started moving as he rubbed my back. A comfortable silence fell between us.
After a minute of laying like that, he spoke up again. “It’s okay. I get nightmares too.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“I’m sorry.”
He let out a small laugh at my apology. “I’m not looking for sympathy, (Y/n). I was just letting you know that you’re not alone.”
“Thank you, Mikey.”
His arm stopped moving as he squashed me into his side.
Before I could stop myself, I asked, “Can I sleep here tonight?” Heat rose to my cheeks.
“Of course.”
I pulled myself up and kissed Michael on the cheek. Quickly I turned over and settled myself into his bed. I felt him adjust his body behind me before settling himself, throwing an arm around me and pulling me into his chest.
Exhausted from the long day and so far restless night, I quickly fell asleep in his arms.
-------------
I sighed as the warm water ran down my body. As I got my hair wet, I let my mind wander over the past few months.
The Clifford family was so nice to take me in. Especially someone like me. Someone so broken. They probably don’t even love me. No one can. My dad left me. My mom took her boyfriend’s side while he beat her and used me as he saw fit. They don’t love me. I could die and no one would care.
A hiss passed through my lips as I got pulled out of my thoughts. Someone in the house flushed a toilet and the water became scalding hot.
As the water cooled back down, I stared at the temperature control. I reached out and turned the heat all the way up. Quickly the water got hot again. I let the water hit my skin. Slowly it became red and angry with the siring pain. After a couple of minutes, the water started to cool down again.
“No,” I whispered. I needed more.
I deserve the pain.
My eyes wandered over to my razor that I use to shave my legs. I grabbed it and sat down on the floor of the tub. Without thinking too much about it, I pinched the skin on my thigh and slid the blades of my razor across it.
-------------
After carefully getting dressed once I got out of the shower, I made my way to Michael’s room. He was sitting on his bed continuing his play through of Halo. I plopped down on the bed next to him, crossing my legs.
“You were in the shower for a long time,” Michael stated.
“I had a lot on my mind,” I told half truthfully.
“Are you okay?”
I rubbed my face. “You know that’s a loaded question.”
Watching him play, an Elite stuck him with a grenade. Michael ran around screaming at the screen. When it finally blew up, he fell into my lap. Pain seared through my legs.
“Michael!” I hissed, pulling him off of me before standing up.
I turned to yell at him, but I was greeted with puppy eyes full of confusion. Anger from the sudden pain faded.
“(Y/n),” he whispered.
“Yes Michael?” I matched his volume.
“(Y/n)... I think… I think you’re bleeding.”
I looked down at my throbbing thighs. A little bit of blood on my right leg started to seep through my pants.
“Shit,” I muttered.
“Why are you bleeding?”
“Don’t worry about it, Michael,” I sighed.
“(Y/n),” He said sternly. “Why are you bleeding?”
He got up from his bed and moved over to me. Grabbing my face with both of his hands, he looked down at me and searched my eyes. His grassy green eyes were full of worry. I wanted to cry for making him worry. However, my chest felt empty and no tears were coming.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered.
Michael’s hands dropped from my face and he pulled me into his chest. My arms instinctively wrapped around him. His head fell into the crook of my neck. His cheeks were wet against my neck as he silently cried. I moved my hands, rubbing small circles into his back comforting him the best that I could.
I lost track of how long we stood there like that. Eventually he pulled away and moved to look me in the eyes again. The whites of his eyes were covered in red, matching his hair that we recently dyed. His green eyes stood out and were full of sadness. He moved his right hand to brush some hair out of my face and tucked it behind my ear. I couldn’t help myself but lean into his touch.
“I’m so sorry, (Y/n).”
“Why are you sorry?”
“I’m sorry that you feel this way. That you feel the need to harm yourself. I’m sorry that I wasn’t there to stop you. I’m sorry that I can’t do more for you.” Another tear slipped down his face. I reached up and wiped it from his face.
“You do everything for me,” I said pulling him into another hug.
“How long?” He asked. His breath tickled my neck.
“Just this time.”
“Please promise… Promise me that you won’t do it again. If you ever feel the urge, please, please, please come to me,” he begged.
“I promise, Michael.” Seeing him like this, I knew that I’d do anything to make sure he doesn’t feel this way again.
He pulled out of my hug, nodding his head. He took my hands in his and guided me to the bed, motioning for me to sit down. I obliged and sat down. He held my hands a moment longer before dropping them.
He moved to leave his room, “I’m going to go get a first aid kit.”
“Okay,” my voice barely came out.
As I waited for Michael, I played with my fingers. Just as soon as he left, he came back with a small box in hand. He sat it on the bed next to me and pulled out some large bandages and some triple antibiotic ointment. He stepped back to look at me.
“What?” I asked after he started at me for a moment.
A hand moved to scratch the back of his neck. “You need to take off your pants.”
A small giggle bubbled out of my throat. “This is not the context I would picture you saying that.”
“(Y/n),” his voice was stern.
I stood up and started to take off my pants. The fabric of my jeans stuck to my fresh wounds. Carefully peeling them off, I finished taking them off. When I looked at Michael, he was staring at my thighs. Heat flooded my cheeks as I looked back down at the ground.
His hand was suddenly on my shoulder as he gently pushed me to sit back down. As soon as I was on the bed, he got to work. He used one finger to apply the ointment. With feather light touches, he traced the cuts. Once he was done with that he applied bandages to the deeper, thicker cuts.
With a sigh, he stood up and moved to his closet. He came back with a pair of black sweatpants. “Here,” he muttered, “These will be more comfortable than your jeans.”
I took them from his hands and slipped them on. They were soft, but very long on me. I had to pull them up above my hips and roll up the bottoms so they weren’t dragging on the ground.
“Thank you, Michael. For everything.”
He nodded.
After putting the ointment and remaining bandages back into the little box, he left his room again. I laid down on his bed, feeling very exhausted. I rolled over next to the wall, and faced the TV.
When Michael came back, I opened my arms to him. “Can we cuddle?”
A small smile danced across his pink lips, “Of course.”
He came over and laid face up. One of his arms wrapped around me as I scooted into his side. I placed my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. My legs tangled with his. He moved his free hand to play with my hair. After a few minutes, my eyelids grew heavy.
“(Y/n)?” Michael’s voice broke the silence.
I hummed in response.
“Remember when Ashton, Calum, Luke, and I went to L.A. for a while to work on our music?”
“Yeah, and I missed the shit out of you guys.”
“Well, we’ve talked about it, and we’re going to move out there. I don’t know when. But I want you to come with us. Would you?”
“Of course, Mikey. You know I’d follow you anywhere,” I murmured as I slipped into a deep sleep.
-----------
“You know what’d be cool about living in this universe,” I motioned to the TV in front of us playing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I was laying across the couch in Michael’s and my shared apartment in L.A. My head was in his lap, and he was running his fingers through my hair.
“What that? We’d have magic?” he guessed.
“Well that. But, you’d be able to change the colour of your hair at will! I wouldn’t have had to dye it all the time!” I explained.
Michael laughed.
“I’m serious!” I exclaimed, looking up at the blonde. His hair was now parted on the opposite side than he did when he was younger. “Maybe you could have hair that’d change according to your mood.”
Michael pulled a face. “That would be a terrible idea.”
“What? Why?” I ask, exasperated.
“Because then I couldn’t hide anything!”
“What would you have to hide?” I laughed, sitting up.
“I um, well I uh,” he stammered, blushing. After a moment he figured out what to say. “What if I pulled a prank on Snape? And he questions me about it? And I feel guilty or something?”
“Two things. One. Would you really feel guilty for pranking Snape? And two. What colour would guilt even be?”
“You’re right that I probably wouldn’t feel very guilty. And I don’t know. Maybe purple,” he shrugged.
“Maybe. I know people usually use pink for love, but I personally think purple would be love.”
“Then what would pink be?”
I paused for a moment to think. A grin spread across my lips, “Guilt.”
Michael laughed again. Suddenly his phone alarm goes off. He picks it up to turn off the loud noise.
“It’s time to get ready for Luke’s party,” he announced.
I groaned and spread across the couch again, putting my head back into Michael’s lap. “Or we can stay here,” I whined.
“As much as I’d love to stay here and keep watching Harry Potter with you, we told Luke we’d be there,” he chuckled.
“Tell him I got sick.”
“You were excited to go like a couple of hours ago! That’s why we put the movie on. To help distract you. Remember?”
He was right. I was excited to go to the party. I even bought a new outfit just for the occasion. But, I didn’t want to leave now. I just wanted to spend my night with Michael, curled up on the couch. I wanted his soft touches as he played with my hair.
“Why don’t you want to go now?” he asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I blushed and gave him a sheepish grin. “I don’t know, I’m just nervous now.”
“It’ll be fine (Y/n). Come on, let’s get ready.”
“Okay,” I groaned as I got up off the couch. I headed over to my room to get ready.
I closed the door behind me and got dressed. The purple top that I got had a lace pattern to it and showed off some of my cleavage. It went all the way down to my upper thighs. I matched it with black leggings and black knee high boots.
I headed over to my attached bathroom to put on some makeup. Michael was nice enough that when we moved in, he gave me the master bedroom.
I decided to keep it simple tonight. I applied some eyeliner and mascara. I then added some lip gloss to top it off. I looked at myself in the mirror. After quickly running a brush through my hair, I was pretty satisfied with how I looked.
“(Y/n), you almost ready?” a knock came from my door.
“I’m ready!” I called back and grabbed my purse.
When I opened the door, Michael was standing there in a red flannel shirt and ripped black skinny jeans. He accessorized it with black Converse, a black snapback that was on backwards, and silver cross earrings. He looked good.
His green eyes roamed over my body. My cheeks heated up under his gaze. “What do you think?” I asked.
His eyes snapped back up to my face. Pink dusted his cheeks as his tongue poked out briefly to wet his lips. “I like it. You should wear this outfit more often.”
A wide grin spread across my lips, “Thank you Mikey! Now let’s go!” I grabbed his hand and dragged him behind me as we headed out.
“You want to pick the music?” Michael asked me when I slid into the passenger seat of his car.
Instead of answering, I just plugged the aux cord into my phone. I went to Spotify and shuffled a playlist. “Broken Home” came on the speakers as he drove away. Usually I get emotional whenever this song comes on. This time, however, I smiled. I’ve come so far from where I was when they took me in. From when Michael helped me when I hurt myself.
I rubbed my hands over my thighs. A habit that I picked up whenever I thought about that accident. Michael noticed and stopped singing along to turn down the music.
“What’re you thinking about?” he asked, giving me a side glance before focusing on the road again.
“Just… everything! How far we’ve come. Like, I’m not a scared, hurt, little girl anymore. And I couldn’t have without you. You or the boys. You guys are my family, and I couldn’t be more thankful.”
Micheal reached over with his right hand and placed it on my knee. He rubbed small circles with his thumb. I put my hand on top of his.
“You’ve always had us, (Y/n). And you always will. Like how we know, that I know, that I have you.”
I beamed in his direction as he parked in front of Luke’s neighbor’s house. We got out of the car and started walking to the party. When we got to the door, Michael just opened it without knocking. We were greeted with loud music and dancing bodies.
We pushed ourselves through the makeshift dance floor. I spotted Ashton on the couch chatting up some girl. He looked up and saw us, and gave us a wave. I smiled and waved back. Michael took my hand as we continued our trek to the kitchen.
Once we got there, we were pulled into a hug by Luke. He already smelled of alcohol. “It’s about time you joined us!” he exclaimed excitedly.
“Sorry it took us so long. Someone,” Michael gestured towards me, “took forever to get ready.”
“I did not!” I laughed smacking his shoulder.
Luke gave us a wide grin before saying, “Doesn’t matter. Either way, you need to catch up.” He walked over to the freezer and pulled out an unopened bottle of vodka. “I was saving this for you guys because I know you hate tequila, Michael.”
“Thanks Luke,” Michael smiled.
“Where’s Calum at? I saw Ashton in the living room,” I mused.
“I think he’s outside, entertaining the people out there,” Luke explained.
“God, there’s more people out there? How many people did you invite?” Michael whined.
“Fifty? Maybe?” Luke shrugged.
“Jesus,” Michael muttered, pouring shots for me and him.
When both were poured, I grabbed mine, cheered Michael, and knocked it back. My throat burned as I exhaled. I couldn’t stop myself from scrunching up my face. Both Michael and Luke laughed at me.
“Do you have chasers?” I asked Luke sheepishly.
He nodded and pulled a half empty two liter bottle of Coke out of the fridge. He pointed at the red solo cups that were on the counter, “People were using this to make mixed drinks. But, you can use it as a chaser.”
“Thanks!” I took the soda from his hands and moved to pour myself a cup.
Michael started to get another round for us ready. Once pour, I picked my soda up in one hand and the shot glass in the other.
“Cheers!” Michael clinked his shot glass against mine and swallowed the alcohol down.
I took a swig of my soda, then followed his lead. As soon as I swallowed mine, I took a couple of big gulps from my drink.
“Was that better?” Michael asked.
“Much. But, I think I’m done playing catch up. I’ll just have mixed drinks here on out.”
Michael nodded at my response and motioned for me to hand over my soda. I complied. He started to pour vodka into my Coke. He added at least two and a half shots into my drink.
“I said I wanted a mixed drink, not straight vodka!” I joked.
Michael gave me a cheeky grin. He then looked around the kitchen and asked, “Where’d Luke go?”
I glanced around. It was just the two of us in here. “He probably went to go find Sierra,” I shrugged.
“That’d make sense,” he replied, handing my drink back to me.
I took a couple of gulps of my drink. My face scrunched up instinctively again. “Wow, that’s strong.”
“You literally watched me pour it. You knew what you were getting into,” Michael laughed.
“Yeah, yeah,” I waved him off. “I wanna go dance!”
The alcohol was now flowing through my veins, and more than anything I just wanted to relax. To let my body flow to the loud music that was playing. Michael followed close behind me as I made my way into the living room. Once I found a spot on the improvised dance floor, I started swaying my hips. My drink was still in hand, so I couldn’t go too crazy.
I closed my eyes, enjoying the music that was playing. My hips started swinging a little wider, and I started flipping my head back and forth. I sang along with the words of the song.
I don’t know how much time passed when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I opened my eyes and looked around. Michael wasn’t next to me. I turned around and almost ran into Ashton’s chest.
“Ashton!” I cheered, throwing my free arm around his neck and pulled him into a hug.
He laughed and put his arms around my waist, hugging me back. When I pulled away, he kept his hands on my hips, keeping me close. I gave him a quizzing look. He gave me a dimpled smile before leaning down to explain, “You had some unwanted eyes on you. I came to save you.”
“Aww, what a prince charming,” I joked. “What about your lady friend I saw you with?”
He pushed some of his loose black curls back out of his face and returned his hand to my hip. He sighed, “She said she had to use the restroom. We’ll see if she comes back.”
“I’m sure she will. But aren’t you worried about her seeing us like this?”
He shrugged. “Nah, you’re family. You come first anyways.”
I smiled at his words before he continued. “It looks like I might be doing you more of a favour than I initially thought.”
“What do you mean?”
He looked past me. I followed his gaze behind me, slightly turning my body. Michael was there leaning against the wall, frowning. A busty brunette was talking to him, leaning slightly over to show off her chest. Michael, however, seemed more interested in his drink.
My heart dropped at the sight. I couldn’t tell if I was bothered more that Michael was upset or if it was because of the girl. My cheeks heated up in slight anger and my heart started racing.
When I turned back to Ashton, he laughed. “Don’t worry about her. He’s clearly not interested.”
“Yeah, but why is he so upset?”
“Because he saw us like this,” he looked down between us.
His hands were still resting on my hips. My right hand was pressed against his chest while my left hand was curled around my drink. The back on my hand on his chest as well.
“Why would he be upset about that?” I wondered out loud.
Ashton threw his head back and laughed. “(Y/n) I love you, but you are oblivious.”
“Then explain it to me!” I whined.
“Michael likes you.”
My heart skipped a beat. I chuckled nervously, “I’d hope he likes me! After all, I am his roommate.”
“No, I mean he has a crush on you.”
My cheeks were on fire with how much I was blushing now. The room seemed to spin a little faster than it did with the alcohol in my system. Luckily Ashton was holding on to me to keep me steady.
“You can’t be serious,” I replied doubtfully.
“I am!” Ashton chuckled. “And you claim to be a fan of our music. Listen to the songs, (Y/n). Some of them are about you.”
“What?! Which ones?”
“Most recently, “Better Man” and “Why Won’t You Love Me”. But there’s also “Disconnected”, “Just Saying”, “Heartbreak Girl”, and-”
“I get it!” I cut him off.
“You’re his muse. And I’m tired of seeing you two pining for each other and not doing anything about it!”
“Are my feelings that obvious?”
“Not necessarily. Michael doesn’t know. And we only know because we’ve known both of you for forever. Now go talk to him.”
I pulled him down into another hug, “Thank you, Ash.”
“You’re welcome,” he chuckled into my ear. “Now go get him.”
I pulled out of the embrace and chugged the rest of my drink. I turned around to find Michael, but he was gone from his spot against the wall. I frowned as I started wondering around looking for him.
I made my way to the kitchen again. When I walked in, I found Calum talking with a cute girl. She gave me a smile and a small wave when I walked in, making Calum look up at me.
“Sorry to interrupt,” I apologized.
“It’s not a problem, (Y/n),” he gave me an easy smile.
“Have you seen Michael?”
“Yeah, he was heading outside when we came in,” the girl spoke up.
Calum nodded in agreement.
“Thank you,” I waved walking past them toward the back door.
When I got outside, Michael was sitting on the edge of the porch with his legs dangling off. I walked over and sat next to him. The night air was cool against my skin. I scooted a little closer to Michael and put my head on his shoulder. He rested his head on top of mine.
Looking over the small backyard, there were a couple of groups of people chatting away with drinks in hand. They were laughing and having a good time. I spotted Luke among them with his arm wrapped behind Sierra’s waist.
“What’s wrong Mikey?” I finally broke the silence between us.
“I dunno,” he lied.
I hummed in response, not moving my head from his shoulder.
“So,” he started. “When did you and Ashton become a thing? And why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t tell you because we’re not a thing,” I giggled.
“Well, you looked more than friendly tonight.”
“Aww, would someone’s hair be green right now?” I referenced our conversation from earlier tonight.
Michael didn’t say anything.
“Well,” I continued, “he told me that there were a lot of predatory eyes on me. He was just protecting me.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah. If my hair could change colours based on my mood, it would’ve been yellow in that moment because I was so happy and grateful. Nothing more than that though.” With the vodka and Ashton’s talk, I had the courage to add, “But right in this moment, my hair would be purple.”
Michael shot up his head off of mine. I lifted my head to look at him. His green eyes were searching mine. I licked my lips, which brought his attention down to my mouth. His tongue stuck out, mimicking my movements.
“Are… are you saying that-”
“Yes,” I cut him off, leaning in closer. “There’s nothing between Ashton and I. Or anyone, for that matter because I have you. There’s always been you.”
Michael’s hand gingerly brushed hair out of my face and cupped my cheek. I put my hand on top of his, holding it in place. He leaned down and placed his forehead against mine.
“Can I?” he whispered, eyes searching mine.
“Yes.”
My breath hitched when he closed his eyes and slowly closed this distance between us. As soon as his lips met mine, my eyes fluttered shut. His lips were slightly chapped as they moved against mine. My heart was racing, not able to believe what was happening. A moment later he pulled away, but continued resting his forehead against mine.
“Is this real?” I asked, refusing to open my eyes.
Michael let out a small laugh, “I was going to ask the same thing.” His thumb moved and rubbed against my bottom lip. “You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do that.”
“I have an idea,” I hummed.
Suddenly his lips were pressed against mine again. I couldn’t help but smile into the kiss.
A cheer could be heard from somewhere in the backyard. “It’s about time, you two!” Luke’s voice called out.
I had to pull away this time as a giggle bubbled out of my throat. I opened my eyes to Michael with a large goofy grin on his face. His eyes were bright.
“Can we go home now?” I asked.
He gave me a confused look.
“We haven’t cuddled properly in forever and I want to make up for lost time,” I explained.
“Yeah, we can go home,” he answered, kissing the top of my head.

i’m bad at music and only listen to like 5 bands but here’s a collection of songs i would put onto a general spn mixtape bc either they 1) aren’t about dean/cas or 2) don’t map exactly perfectly onto the pov of one character/are an au or 3) are fun
the “i’ve been listening to taylor swift for two months straight” collection:
here’s a song crowley would listen to and drink and think about dean and cry:
‘tis the damn season + We could call it even / You could call me "babe" for the weekend / 'Tis the damn season, write this down / I'm stayin' at my parents' house / And the road not taken looks real good now
here’s a song for literally everyone on spn:
marjorie + And if I didn't know better / I'd think you were listening to me now / If I didn't know better / I'd think you were still around / What died didn't stay dead / What died didn't stay dead / You're alive, you're alive in my head
here’s a song for claire when cas showed up again before she forgave him:
closure + It's been a long time / And seeing the shape of your name / Still spells out pain / It wasn't right / The way it all went down / Looks like you know that now
here’s a song for the entire purgatory experience. is it about dean/benny? bc dean was so focused on cas, and sam, and dean eventually had to kill benny and send him back to purgatory to save his brother? is it about how dean thought he left cas behind in purgatory, how he spent a year searching endlessly for him? is it about how cas keeps leaving dean: first, rejecting his hand in purgatory, then running off with the angel tablet? anyway i have 1000 feelings and should write a purgatory fic one day
coney island + And I'm sitting on a bench in Coney Island / Wondering where did my baby go? / The fast times, the bright lights, the merry go / Sorry for not making you my centerfold / Over and over
here’s a song that doesn’t map exactly bc it talks about childhood and dean and cas were not friends then however it is about dean and cas (or maybe benny too bc of the pirates who knows):
seven + And I've been meaning to tell you / I think your house is haunted / Your dad is always mad and that must be why / And I think you should come live with me / And we can be pirates / Then you won't have to cry / Or hide in the closet / And just like a folk song / Our love will be passed on
speaking of benny here’s that high school au where he’s pining for dean endlessly but he also knows that dean was never his either:
august + Your back beneath the sun / Wishin' I could write my name on it / Will you call when you're back at school? / I remember thinkin' I had you
the “5 songs for how 5 years ago all i listened to was death cab on repeat” collection:
a classic song i shouldn’t have to explain:
some boys + Some boys are singing, some boys are singing the blues / Joylessly flinging with the girls that they're bringing / To their rooms, and then leave when they're through / Some boys are sleeping, some boys are sleeping alone / Cause there's no one that's keeping them warm through evening / And they know that they're on their own / 'Cause some boys don’t know how to love
is this one about dean? is it about sam? is it about cas? we just don’t know
you are a tourist + And if you feel just like a tourist in the city you were born / Then it's time to go / And define your destination / There's so many different places to call home / Because when you find yourself the villain in the story you have written / It's plain to see / That sometimes the best intentions are in need of redemptions / Would you agree? / If so please show me
this song is about peter and jason from bare which means it is also about dean and cas high school au:
we looked like giants + God damn the black night, with all its foul temptations / I've become what I always hated when I was with you then / We looked like giants in the back of my grey subcompact / Fumbling to make contact as the others slept inside
this song isn’t about dean bc he’s an asshole to cas on a regular basis but i think of him every time i hear it:
you can do better than me + I have to face the truth / That no one could ever look at me like you do / Like I'm something worth holding onto / There's times I think of leaving / But it's something I'll never do / 'Cause you can do better than me / But I can't do better than you
this song is too clingy for crowley and dean however it is about crowley and dean:
i will possess your heart + How I wish you could see the potential / The potential of you and me / It's like a book elegantly bound, but / In a language that you can't read just yet / You gotta spend some time, love / You gotta spend some time with me / And I know that you'll find, love / I will possess your heart
the “sometimes spotify shows me new things” collection:
this song is about both winchester boys bc of all the car imagery (dean) and also bc the singer is planning on escaping (sam):
this year - the mountain goats + I am going to make it through this year / If it kills me / I am going to make it through this year / If it kills me / I drove home in the California dusk / I could feel the alcohol inside of me hum / Pictured the look on my stepfather's face / Ready for the bad things to come
this song is 100% what charlie would put on a playlist for dean to celebrate him coming out to her:
bad liar - selena gomez + I was walking down the street the other day / Tryna distract myself / But then I see your face / Oh wait, that's someone else / Tryna play it coy / Tryna make it disappear / But just like the battle of Troy / There's nothing subtle here
does cas keep his hands to himself? mostly yes but he still listens to this and thinks about dean
hands to myself - selena gomez + The doctors say you're no good / But people say what they wanna say / And you should know if I could / I'd breathe you in every single day / All of the downs and the uppers / Keep making love to each other / And I'm trying, trying, I'm trying, trying
i wish i could quote this entire song. this entire song is about dean except for the specific bit in the beginning about the mom calling insane and high and the pov rejecting her:
a better son/daughter - rilo kiley + But you'll fight and you'll make it through / You'll fake it if you have to / And you'll show up for work with a smile / And you'll be better, and you'll be smarter / And more grown up, and a better daughter / Or son, and a real good friend

be more chill, august 4, 2019
Cast: Troy Iwata as Rich, OBC otherwise
More Than Survive
“girls! …boys!” is still in the show! Jeremy Heere: Not Cishet
there’s a drawing of a tesseract on the blackboard in the classroom. what are they teaching these kids?
there are posters advertising several school clubs, including chess club and Spanish club. (those were the only ones I could make out.)
Jeremy doesn’t even look at Christine when she’s telling him there’s something written on his backpack.
for most of Michael’s solo, Jeremy just looks frustrated with Michael for not listening to him, rather than relieved to see him.
as Michael and Jeremy are harmonizing on “Christiiiine,” Christine (having already signed up for the play) runs around them in circles. Naruto running, to be specific.
I Love Play Rehearsal
Michael physically shoves Jeremy into rehearsal as he’s verbally hyping himself up to go in.
when Jeremy asks if this is where to meet for the play, Christine looks around in disbelief and gestures to the podium when telling him it’s actually where to meet for the swim team, and Jeremy goes “what??” and spins around looking equally disbelieving.
after telling Jeremy that play rehearsal is “fun,” Christine shuts herself up — and then very gradually turns around to look back at Jeremy, and sees he’s still listening attentively, which gives her the courage to say more.
the few times Jeremy speaks in this scene, his speech is even more stilted than in the first scene, and he practically doubles over from nerves at some points — most notably when Christine comes VERY close to kissing him and then pulls away to Scream.
Jeremy anticipates Christine saying that play rehearsal is starting “now,” and starts to form the word “now” just as she says “soon” instead.
Jeremy gets shoved off his chair by Rich and ends up on the floor, as do most of the characters.
Jeremy’s expressions throughout Jake and Christine’s conversation epitomize “looking into the camera like you’re on The Office,” especially after Jake describes Juliet as “that girl who died.” when Jake is telling Christine about the pressure he always feels, he not-so-subtly flexes his arm muscles, and Jeremy looks at his own arm with disappointment.
Christine leans on the podium in an obvious attempt to look Cool And Casual while Jake is talking to her, though she’s clearly nervous, and surprised when Jake tells her he’s doing the play for her.
the other ninety percent of this post is under the cut (with pictures!)
The Squip Song
I’ve seen Gerard’s Rich described as trying to fight/resist his SQUIP throughout this song and clearly not wanting to tell Jeremy what he’s telling him. Troy’s Rich isn’t anything like that — other than smacking himself to snap out of lisping, he doesn’t seem to be having an issue with his SQUIP at all.
Jeremy, on the other hand, spends the whole song flinching away from Rich — on Rich’s string of “then then then then then…” Jeremy is continually backing away from him, until he’s backed all the way into the proscenium and Rich is RIGHT in front of him.
on the “blip” of “on the school social map you’re just a blip!” Rich boops Jeremy’s nose, which would be adorable if Jeremy weren’t terrified.
in his reprise of the song, Jeremy attempts the hand choreography that Rich was doing in telling him about the SQUIP, and fails miserably.
Two-Player Game
Michael is drinking the Crystal Pepsi that he’s comparing Jeremy to. that can’t be safe.
when Mr. Heere enters, Michael is curled up on the floor, so only his back and feet are visible to Mr. Heere — no wonder he didn’t recognize Michael.
Mr. Heere and Michael exchange Understanding looks behind Jeremy’s back after “that’s why most people aren’t your father.”
The Squip Enters
the Scary Stockboy communicates exclusively in grunts for several lines. think Tim Allen on Home Improvement.
Jake, Christine, and Jenna are looking on in confusion as Jeremy is first talking to his SQUIP, and he gestures to Christine that he’s okay.
Be More Chill, Pt. 1
Jeremy has fun following the SQUIP’s instructions at first — he goes over the top with arching his back, puffing out his chest, and walking with Swagger, looking cheerful all the while. he doesn’t look unhappy until the SQUIP tells him that “all your nerdiness is ugly,” which it does while physically moving his head/face around with its hands to look at him better. (it does that to him a couple other times too.)
after “everything about you makes me want to die,” Jeremy mutters “oh God, oh no” repeatedly, in addition to breathing hard and fast. in this song, and throughout the first act, he mouths “what?” and other phrases to himself in reaction to everything happening around him.
Troy plays a mall employee in the mall scenes, rather than whatever character Gerard plays.
the mall people get Right up in Jeremy’s face when telling him he sucks.
the girl’s shirt Jeremy picks out is the shirt Chloe’s holding in this picture, which is nothing like what I would have expected.
Tumblr media
Do You Wanna Ride?
Brooke’s attempts at seduction involve twirling around the straw from her can of La Croix (which sprays some in Chloe’s eye), crawling on the floor, and shoving the can into Jeremy’s chest. oh, Brooke.
Brooke also emphasizes the “ex” when telling Jeremy about her ex-boyfriend.
Be More Chill, Pt. 2
“I can… access the mall security cameras” is clearly a hasty lie from the SQUIP.
Jeremy falls asleep sideways on his bed once he gets home, and the SQUIP makes him tuck himself in — possibly the first instance of it controlling Jeremy’s body?
Sync Up
while opening his laptop, Jeremy makes beeping noises to the melody of More Than Survive, which is also playing in the background at that moment.
“I was just going to check my email” was delivered angrily rather than defensively.
Jeremy’s “ooooh” in response to his vision being fixed is also Tim Allen-esque.
as Jake passes by, the SQUIP tells Jeremy to “make a fist,” just in time for Jake to do an elaborate handshake/fist bump with Jeremy.
while the SQUIP is telling Jeremy about Chloe’s obsession with status, Chloe is leaning against the side of a bank of lockers, trying to collect herself and calm down.
Brooke reads the French phrase she’s using to try to impress Jeremy off of her hand.
during various instrumental breaks, Jeremy does the Squip Song hand choreography in sync with Rich and later the SQUIP, and cycles through greeting all the other students (bumping hips with and high fiving people, taking a selfie with Jenna, etc). it’s a great illustration of the “good hand-eye coordination” allegedly required for success in life and for how the SQUIP is helping Jeremy already, and also just really cool to watch. the lack of an applause break after the song was disappointing because I desperately wanted to clap for all that.
A Guy That I’d Kinda Be Into
Brooke is hovering over Chloe’s shoulder while Chloe is confronting Christine about Jake, even twirling her hair in time with Chloe doing the same.
the curtains part on the school’s stage to reveal Rich twerking. he immediately scurries off.
most of Jenna’s Midsummer lines are delivered in a normal voice, but “one thousand years ago this midsummer” is in the most over-the-top Shakespearean voice imaginable.
Jeremy starts coughing the moment the SQUIP stops delivering his monologue through him, and looks shocked that it happened at all.
Christine is carrying the box of prop hearts when complimenting Jeremy on how Into This he is. wonderful visual symbolism.
as previously mentioned, the extended bowling ball dialogue (all occurring while the SQUIP looks on in confusion and disgust):
Christine: …and at the end, I give birth to the bowling ball! Jeremy [clapping]: That sounds awesome! And very… theatrical! Christine: Well, thank you. If you don’t mind — [hands over the bowling ball] Jeremy: Oh, yeah — Christine: Just for a moment… [both cooing over the “baby”] Christine: Don’t cry, you’re just a BALL! [takes it from Jeremy’s arms and rolls it offstage; both laughing] Christine: Ten! Jeremy: Win!
the other students pass back and forth behind the partly open curtains with the prop hearts (which are hinged in the middle) before passing between Jeremy and Christine with them.
Christine gets very close to Jeremy’s face, as if to kiss him, again, before revealing that the guy that she’d kinda be into is Jake.
Upgrade
Brooke sits on the ground and clings to/wraps herself around Jeremy’s legs while telling him about Eminem’s death; she slides onto Jeremy’s lap from a higher row of the bleachers to kiss him, and when the scene cuts back to them he fully gets up and off the bleachers to ask why she likes him.
Britton Smith’s vibrato. end of note.
during the overlapping “I’m tired of being the person that everyone thinks that I am,” the teens repeatedly cross the stage, finally arranging themselves in a V behind Jeremy until he jumps back onto the bleachers, telling the SQUIP that “this is way too intense!”
Loser Geek Whatever
exact words from my notes: “Will Fucking Roland did THAT”
he spends the first verse and chorus sitting on the top row of the bleachers, only standing and walking down the bleachers in the second verse.
the act still ends with the SQUIP ominously reaching for Jeremy just as the lights go down.
Halloween
Jenna arrives wearing a mask as part of her clown costume — not quite like the clown from IT, but in that same vein of creepiness.
some new dialogue between Brooke and Jeremy after he compliments her costume:
Jeremy: I mean… it’s amazing. You’re amazing. Brooke: That’s what I like about Halloween. It’s the one night I get to be something I’m not. Jeremy: What’s wrong with the way you are? Brooke: You’re sweet, Jeremy. You need a drink.
Christine vanishes after Jake tells her that “the keg’s over there” and walks away.
Chloe is talking to Jeremy on the couch at one point before they both leave, presumably telling him about Brooke’s “surprise.”
Do You Wanna Hang?
the best way I can describe the choreography/staging of this song is that, like Brooke, Chloe has wildly inaccurate ideas about what “sexy,” is, and less like Brooke, she has wildly inaccurate ideas of what constitutes consent. (this post explains it well.)
the SQUIP makes Jeremy walk over to Chloe (in an extremely jerky/robotic fashion) while he’s expressing surprise that she’s jealous of Brooke. to which she responds “obviously, I am NOT” while obviously crying.
Brooke shows up after Chloe tells Jeremy that “I’m bored of you anyway,” and Jake soon follows, yelling that they’d better not be having sex on his parents’ bed because “I specifically told everyone that was off limits!”
after Jake chases Jeremy out, Brooke stays behind to ask Chloe “how could you?” Chloe’s response, delivered so drunkenly that is isn’t even an answer to the question: “I’m so wasted right now.”
Michael In The Bathroom
“what’s not on the Internet?” got a lot of laughter.
Michael and Jeremy’s argument isn’t about luck, but about who’s looking out for Jeremy:
Michael: Think, man! We’re talking an insanely powerful supercomputer! And you’re using it to, what, get laid? Did it ever occur to you that there could be consequences? That you’re messing with something you don’t understand? Jeremy: You’re the one who said technology isn’t dangerous. Michael: Yeah, unless you use it like you. Jeremy: And I thought Chloe was jealous. Michael: I’m trying to look out for you. Jeremy: Oh, really? Because I think you’re pissed that I have one and you don’t.  Michael: Oh, come on, man. Jeremy: I’m looking out for myself, for the first time in my life. With my history, I think I deserve that.
the jack-o’-lanterns hanging overhead flash in time with the “knock knock knock knock/clang clang clang clang/[etc.]” lines.
they really do take the bathtub away like in the rehearsal videos! bizarre choice if you ask me, but I’m not Stephen Brackett, so they didn’t ask me.
A Guy That I’d Kinda Be Into (Reprise)
Brooke enters in the background just as Jeremy is sitting on the couch with Christine, stops to look at him sadly, and then leaves without saying anything; he doesn’t notice her at all.
Christine now tells Jeremy that Jake is upstairs fighting with Chloe, rather than having makeup sex, and that she dumped him because “I know he seems like this confident guy on the outside, but… under that he had this whole other layer, he was sensitive and sweet. And then the third layer was like, this underlying total jerk layer.”
at this particular show, Jeremy and Christine’s mutual weird noises were just full-throated screaming.
Christine advises Gingivitis to “drink water!” as he stumbles offstage.
over the course of them making weird noises at each other, Jeremy ends up lying on the couch with his legs hanging over the armrest, a pose I’d seen before in at least one piece of fanart but hadn’t realized was actually in the show.
Christine no longer gives any explanation of why she can’t date Jeremy — she just apologizes and runs off. the SQUIP’s return moments later is met with a very morose “look who decided to show up.”
The Smartphone Hour (Rich Set A Fire)
Brooke has a pair of earbuds that she briefly poses with (holding them taut overhead) before tossing them away just like her banana.
The Pants Song
at the SQUIP’s advice, Jeremy “disengages” from the conversation with his dad about the party; Mr. Heere says not to “hide behind [his] phone,” but Jeremy doesn’t look up until his mom is mentioned.
Jeremy’s rant about how his dad can’t act like a father and just keeps waiting for his mom to come back ends with “No wonder she’s gone.”
upon seeing Mr. Heere, Michael hides whatever it is he’s using to smoke (I don’t think it’s a bong but I have no idea what it actually is) among a bunch of garden gnomes.
“do you love him?” is followed by a record scratch (or maybe shredding on a string instrument?) and the music completely stopping long enough for Michael to respond.
Michael straightens/tugs down his boxer briefs during the second chorus.
“somewhat reluctantly” is followed by a recorder trill that’s not in the album recording.
Mr. Heere opens up his robe on “real literal pants” and shows off his distinct lack of pants to the audience before Michael urges him to put all that away.
The Pitiful Children
when Jeremy arrives at school, Chloe and Jake are arguing about who’s worse off:
Jake: No, no, no. You were messing around with Jeremy in my parents’ room! Chloe: You dumped me for a theatre girl! Jake: Hey, come on, Chlo. I broke my legs! Chloe: You broke my heart. Jake: Well, my house burned down! Chloe [furiously]: You had it coming! Jenna: Oh my God, guys, did you see me on TV? Chloe, Jake, and Brooke: Not now, Jenna!
Brooke’s confrontation of Jeremy now mentions her ex:
Jeremy: Hey, it’s so crazy, right, with Rich and the fire — Brooke: You knew my last boyfriend cheated on me. And you did it anyway. Did you even like me? Or were you just using me to get to someone else? Jeremy: No —  Brooke: I am not a sexy dog you can kick, Jeremy. I am a person. [cue Chloe calling her like a dog]
Christine says “I guess I’ll just do theatre” with heavy irony — she realizes that doing theatre won’t fix anything that she’s upset about.
on the first chorus, all the teens (who had left the stage) walk back through again, as if to remind Jeremy of who exactly the pitiful children in question are.
Jeremy adds Mountain Dew to the beaker first, followed by a few SQUIPs, which frankly seems like the worst order to do that in.
Jeremy sounds more stilted again (more like in act 1) when offering Jenna the excuse about preparing Pansy Serum. he still asks Jenna “how are you feeling today?” but doesn’t immediately interrupt her to offer her a SQUIP:
Jenna: No one’s ever asked me that before. I know everything about everyone at this school, but no one ever wants to know me. SQUIP: You can help her. Offer her a drink. Jeremy: I can’t trick her into drinking a pill! SQUIP: She would do anything to feel like she belonged. Jenna: I would do anything to feel like I belong. Jeremy: Then would you maybe want to… drink this? Jenna: What’s in it? Jeremy: A supercomputer from Japan that’ll solve all your problems. Oh, and Mountain Dew. Jenna [cheerfully]: Okay!
the same blue screens/user agreement that appeared in the projections during The Squip Enters appear again behind Jenna, during her singing to the melody of The Smartphone Hour, suggesting that that’s the moment when her SQUIP fully activates.
by the end of the song, Jeremy has joined in on the choreography with the SQUIP ensemble. at times the SQUIP guides him through it by standing right behind him and placing its arms under his, a gesture that returns in The Play.
The Play
after Jeremy’s attempt to convince Christine to get a SQUIP totally fails, his SQUIP enters from above, being gradually lowered from the ceiling onto the stage.
Mr. Reyes gives Brooke the Pansy Serum onstage (as in, on the stage of A Midsummer Nightmare About Zombies) and she drinks it through a straw. (how did the SQUIP even get through it?)
the SQUIP explains its reasoning behind taking over more than just the student body:
SQUIP [over building music]: And why stop with the school? There’s an entire world of suffering people who need my help! It’s the glorious destiny for which I was programmed! And I never would have discovered it without… you.  [music cuts out] Jeremy: …Oh, shit.
Rich physically shows up and yells “I NEED MOUNTAIN DEW RED!” when Jeremy is remembering him doing just that at the party. I tried to describe the staging but couldn’t put it into words so here’s a picture
Tumblr media
Jeremy glitches even more than is on the cast recording, from the moment he first tries to say “I’m sorry,” and the lights in the set itself flash in time with his glitching; when he isn’t talking or being forced to hit Michael, he’s clutching his neck/throat and bending over in pain.
Jeremy knocks Michael to the floor with a punch, which was met with gasps and silence until Michael said “then why are you hitting me?” (an understatement, really.)
Jake pours the Mountain Dew Red either down a sink or into a laundry bin (either way, it’s not just onto the floor.) after telling Jeremy and Michael that his SQUIP blocked his pain receptors, he jumps a few times and says, “Now I don’t hurt anymore… here… or here,” first gesturing to his legs and then putting his hands over his heart.
when telling Jeremy they’re no longer mad at him, Brooke clings to Jeremy’s legs like she did in Upgrade, while Chloe wraps her arms around his neck and head; once they realize they see and like one another, they physically toss him aside.
the SQUIP urges Jeremy to “look how happy everyone is when they just get with the program!”
Michael tosses the bottle of Mountain Dew Red to Jeremy just before being knocked out and taken away by the SQUIP zombies.
the SQUIP zombies all bow to Christine when she appears. Christine gets VERY close to Jeremy during her solo, putting her hands on his chest and just generally being all over him.
once Christine’s finished singing, Jeremy is standing and watching her, the SQUIP telling him he can’t possibly drink the last drops, the hand that he’s holding the bottle with shaking uncontrollably as he tries to fight the SQUIP’s control… and then! his hand stops shaking as he gains the strength to physically knock the SQUIP back — and gives the bottle to Christine.
Michael explains about the links between the SQUIPs that means destroying one will destroy them all, AS the deactivation sequence is happening. good for him for figuring it out so quickly, I suppose? it does mess a bit with the flow of the scene though.
Voices In My Head
Rich’s “totally bi now” on Michael’s entrance is sung, sounding a lot like like “technically I’m homeless!”
Michael tells Jeremy that after everyone at the play passed out, “the audience went totally crazy… they’re saying it’s the best school play in years.”
since Michael’s already explained the linking between the SQUIPs, his and Jeremy’s conversation now focuses on how Jeremy knew that destroying one would destroy them all (he didn’t — he “was just trying to save Christine”) and why Michael came to help him:
Jeremy: After everything I did, you were still there for me.  Michael: Oh, I was fully prepared to watch you suffer. Jeremy: Wow. Michael: But then someone reminded me, when you love someone, you…  [Mr. Heere enters] Michael: …it sounds better when he says it.
Michael fixes Jeremy’s sweatshirt while saying it’s reassuring that Jeremy still needs them.
after Rich suggests that Jeremy tell Christine that she “excites you sexually,” Jeremy points at Rich as if to say “is that right?” and Michael and Mr. Heere make frantic gestures to the effect of “NO IT ISN’T.”
Brooke tells Jeremy that she’s still mad at him, but also over him, and Jenna’s arm is on her shoulder the whole time. considering that Chloe and Jake are being similarly affectionate in that scene, it certainly suggests that Brooke and Jenna are a couple now.
Jake dabs after offering his own advice, and Jeremy dabs in response.
Christine revealing that Ruth Bader Ginsberg was her SQUIP also got a big laugh.
instead of Jeremy bending down to kiss Christine, he kneels down in a sort of lunging position, and Christine runs into his arms to kiss him.
the repetition of “the loudest one is mine!” is accompanied by all the teens hugging and high fiving one another and dancing together. they’re all in love…
Stage door
Troy Iwata was the first to come out and sign things, and someone standing near me shouted “Troy’s our boy!”
George Salazar came out second, not long after Troy and first went around posing for selfies with everyone before going around a second time to actually sign things.
after a while of waiting, the band came out — no idea if they signed anything, but they got cheers, especially the theremin player.

“(y/n)!!! You ready?” Your uncle Troy aka R8dio asks while popping his head into your room. You were finishing the last touches on your hair and you swivel in your chair to face him.
“Yeah give me like two seconds,” You respond before running your straightener over your hair one last time. You unplug it and grab your phone and purse and head over to your uncle.
Today you were shadowing your favorite uncle at his job. He was helping a brand new boyband edit and mix their new song. You had always wanted to learn the ropes of your uncles job and you were excited to see how it all works.
The drive to the studio was pretty quick and you were practically shaking from head to toe in excitement. Music has been the biggest part of your life for as long as you can remember and to learn new things about it always excited you.
“The band is called Why Don’t We,” He says as the two of you walk into the building. “They’re five guys around your age so you should get along pretty well.”
When you get to the studio you watch as your uncle gets everything set up and ready. He begins to explain the different controls and what they do when there’s a knock on the door. You both stop and look up to see a curly haired boy walk in with a wide smile plastered across his face.
“Hey man!” The boy greets and walks up to your uncle and offers a handshake. He then turns to you and you offer an awkward smile and wave.
“This is my niece (y/n). She’s gonna be hanging out and learning the ropes today,” Your uncle explains and the boy smiles.
“Hey! I’m Jack,” He says offering his hand and you take it.
He then explains that the rest of the boys should be there soon and stopped to grab some coffee before coming in. As you sit and wait, your uncle finishes setting up and Jack takes a seat next to you.
“So you’re Troy’s niece?” Jack asks and you nod and smile.
“Yeah. I’ve always thought his career was cool so I wanted to see how it all works,” You explain and he smiles.
“It’s pretty cool. I still don’t understand it all but he somehow makes our music sound awesome so.”
“You guys have a lot to do with it though,” You respond and he nods.
The two of you talk a bit more, basic information being traded back and forth until the rest of the band finally shows up. They introduce themselves quickly before starting to work. You stick to the back, watching your uncle navigate the controls and watch as they create a new song.
“Wait,” You chime in and your uncle turns to look at you. “For the last chorus, drop back the background completely and enhance the harmonies.”
Your uncle complies, fiddling with the controls for a second before applying the changes. He rewinds the track and lets the last chorus play again. You watch as the guys start to nod along, liking how the ending sounds.
“Looks like you’re a quick learner,” Jack compliments.
“I try my best.”
The day is long but you enjoy practically every second of it. It was fun to learn how to create music the way your uncle did and the boys were super sweet and kept you entertained even during the slow bits of the day.
“Alright if I sit here any longer my head is going to explode,” Jonah says and stands up. “Wanna get dinner?” He asks the rest of the band and they all murmur responses.
“(y/n)? You coming?” Jack asks when he gets to the door. You look over at your uncle and he nods.
“Get her home safe though,” He warns and Jack smiles.
“Come on.”
You head out with the five boys and before you can even ask, they start to discuss food ideas. You mostly listen as they throw out ideas and agree when something sounds good.
“Chick fil a?” You pipe up and the boys all stop.
“Ohhh I like you,” Zach says pointing at you and you smile widely.
You head out to the restaurant, Jack and Daniel in the front, Zach and Corbyn in the middle and you and Jack in the back. The two of you continue your conversation the entire time. It was surprising how quickly the two of you clicked and were already bonding over so many things.
“What are you gonna get?” He asks when you’re in line and waiting behind the rest of the boys to order.
“The chicken strips duh,” You respond.
“Okay we’re definitely gonna be best friends,” He says and you smile proudly.
It had been a little over a year since that day and you and the boys were closer than ever. After hanging out at chick fil a for a couple of hours you got each of their numbers and created a group chat. Even after you got home they were still sending you dumb videos of each other.
It didn’t stop there. You were over there house practically every weekend and when summer came around it turned into almost everyday. You loved hanging out with the five singers and so when they headed off for the something different tour you found yourself bored out of your mind.
However, you thankfully had a summer class and a summer job at the studio to keep you busy and help you through a summer without your friends. When the boys got back to LA you spent so long at their house they had to kick you out at some point just so you could see your family.
You didn’t regret it one bit though. You loved them and summer felt like ages when they were gone. Jack missed you like crazy too and you’re reminded of how quick you became friends. It changed your life in the best way possible and you were so blessed.
“Hey (y/n)?” Jack asks catching your attention.
The two of you were sprawled out on his king sized bed, your head at his feet and vice versa. At the sound of your name your prop yourself up on your elbows and look down at your best friend.
“What’s up?”
“Should I ask out Gabbie?”
Gabbie was a family friend of Jack who you had met just before tour started. The two of you got along quickly, bonding over your love of the ocean and she offered to teach you how to surf. You also quickly realized that Jack had the biggest crush on her but wouldn’t tell her.
“Duh,” You respond sitting up further. “You guys would be cute together and I can tell she likes you too.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Just text her,” You flop back onto the bed and a few seconds later you hear Jack typing on his phone. You pull out your own phone and scroll through instagram. You decide you haven’t gone live in a hot second and you start up the video.
“Hey guys,” You greet and you can feel Jack looking over at you. He moves around on the bed until he’s laying the same way as you and smiles when he realizes you’re live.
“Sup guys,” He greets as more people come to watch.
Ever since you became friends with the guys, you gained a ton of new followers. You never quite understood it considering you didn’t do anything interesting. But that’s how fandoms worked these days and because you were a fraction closer to the guys than they were, they decided to follow you too. And you also gave them some great content some days.
The comments are flooded when people realize Jack is here and begin asking a million questions. You both sift through the normal ones, how your day has been, is Jack excited for tour, any new updates and other stuff like that.
“Is (y/n) single?” Jack reads.
“Forever and always,” You joke and Jack nudges you.
“Hey you’ll find the right guy one day,” He tells you and you smile. When you look back at the comments, they’re now flooded with how cute you and Jack were and how we should be together. You both ignore them and search for more but upon seeing there’s nothing left you get off live.
“Did Gabbie text you back?” You ask when you end it.
“Yeah we’re going out this friday,” He says smiling widely.
You were laying down on the couch, binge watching Teen Wolf with Jonah when you hear the front door open. Jack walks into the living room not five seconds later and you and Jonah are sitting up ready to ask questions about his first date.
“How did it go?” Jonah asks first.
“Really good.” He says smiling and happiness fills your heart for your best friend. “(y/n) can we talk upstairs?”
Before you can say anything, Jack is grabbing your hand and pulling you off the couch. You cast Jonah an apologetic glance before following behind your best friend. When you get to his room, you head straight for his bed and lay down. Jack falls down next to you and out of habit you start to run your hand through his curls.
“What’s up?” You ask hoping the date really did go well and he didn’t just say that because Jonah was there.
“She’s perfect,” He sighs out eventually and you smile. Jack was always pretty good at expressing his feelings but he always told you he trusted you the most. Therefore, you were the only one who really ever saw him like this.
He launches into the story of the date, no detail spared and by the end of it you’re having secondhand butterflies. You were so happy for your best friend and that he was so smitten with Gabbie even after one date.
It had been a couple months since Jack and Gabbie had gone on that first date and since then their relationship had grown. During this time you had stepped back a bit so Jack could develop his relationship with Gabbie.
You didn’t want to interfere and overstep your boundaries so you let Jack ask you to hangout when he’s free and you found yourself hanging out with the other guys more. Jack would always be your best friend but you never wanted to push it.
However, the invitation tour was coming up soon and you were excited to be on the road with your five best friends. Thankfully your school schedule worked with you so you could still do your classes and travel with your second family. It was the perfect opportunity.
About a month into touring, Jack had decided he wanted to go public about his relationship with Gabbie. He talked to the whole band and everything considering things would change knowing their fans, and they supported him.
However the whole thing didn’t go over well.
“Band meeting, now.” Jack says popping into the dressing room you were relaxing in. Before you can question it, Jack dips back out and you’re left following him.
He leads you to one of the random backstage rooms and when he opens the door, the other four singers are sitting around waiting. Jack gestures for you to sit and you take a seat in between Daniel and Zach.
“Why are we here?” Zach asks once you’re settled.
“So you guys saw that I posted about me and Gabbie right?” He asks and the five of you respond in agreement.
“Gabbie’s getting a ton of hate now because of it,” He says and you can tell he’s holding something back.
“And?” You ask.
“And it’s because of you,” He admits and your face contorts to one of confusion.
“Me?” You ask. You look around at the rest of the guys and they all wear the same expressions as Jack.
“You haven’t seen the comments?” He asks instead of further explaining.
You pull out your phone and pull up twitter and scroll through the now trending “Jabbie” hashtag. While the first few tweets are good ones, the further you scroll you start to see what Jack is talking about. Since you had taken a step back from Jack, you had stopped posting as much about your friendship.
However, the fans were taking that the total wrong way. They thought you stopped because you liked Jack. There were practically hundreds of tweets questioning how Jack had a girlfriend that wasn’t you.
“Shit,” You curse and Jack nods. “What are we supposed to do?” You ask now looking at the rest of the band.
“My suggestion is to tweet about it to be honest. That usually gets them off our back pretty quick,” Daniel says and you nod.
You pull up a new tweet and it takes you a second to think before you end up sending a tweet that says “In the wise words of Anne-Marie, We’re just friends.” After sending it, the boys go back to doing their pre show routines and you talk to Jack.
“I’m sorry,” You apologize. “I never meant to interfere that was my exact opposite intention. I wanted to give you and your relationship space.”
“No harm done just don’t fall in love with me for real,” He jokes and you shove him.
“Never in a million years you dork,” You respond before pulling him in for a hug.
“Yeah, yeah.”

HSMTMTS Thoughts Episode 2
Episode 1 Episode 3 Episode 4 Episode 5
Ricky’s pheromone idea was uhhh very teenage boy logic
“I sprayed it all over me,” his face when he said that, priceless
Is EJ supposed to be an influencer? And why has it never been mentioned again
Ashlyn!!! “Maybe it will be good for you to not get what you want for once?” ← she knows what she’s talking about. Especially because his answer is “Why would that be good?” **confused EJ face**
EJ switching the name cards and then putting them back because Ashlyn gives him a look → I love Ashlyn’s no bs attitude
Big Red says he can’t really read, why? Does he have a learning disability, or like anxiety reading in front of people, or is he just really bad at reading out loud?
“Actually, EJ’s my cousin,”
I do like how Miss Jenn is trying to tell them about the family atmosphere that being in a play/musical has
The hand holding part is hilarious, like, guys, they’re just hands
Miss Jenn’s singing is uhhhh very reminiscent of the choir teachers at my high school
Big Red hasn’t read aloud since 5th grade science fair - what happened?
Why did Nini immediately back away from the kiss when her phone buzzed? I like never notice when my phone goes off if I’m with people so…
Also why doesn’t she want to tell EJ that her mom is texting her fortune cookies?
How did Ashlyn get custom lenses for her grandma’s glasses? Unless she’s just wearing them for fashion?
“So I can see when I’m milking” - lol okay Seb
Seb: “I just wanna raise the roof,” **biggest smile ever** … I love him
That whole autopsy thing from Miss Jenn is uhhh, interesting to say the least
“And then there’s the kiss!” **Ricky shocked and slightly excited face**
Miss Jenn not listening to things that make her students uncomfortable is NOT good
“Go away,” “No you go away, you’re in front of my locker,” - once again, I love Ashlyn
I can’t believe that EJ thinks that Ricky’s bribing Miss Jenn
“Dating her doesn’t mean you own her,” thank you Ashlyn
Ashlyn the voice of reason, and EJ the anxious boy who makes very bad and questionable decisions
Ricky is asking really good questions, they should expect this from someone who has never been in a musical before. I like how patient Carlos is being with him.
“Be in each other’s grills,” - who says that?
“Hey, you love Throb,” - yikes why is that the name
“Nini’s right, I’m taking up space, I don’t belong on stage,” “So untrue!” okay but like actually Ricky is a really talented singer he does kind of belong on stage
“Because my Dad’s not,” oof, that was hard for him to get out. Big Red’s trying so hard to be a good friend but Ricky’s in angsty teenager mode which means internalize everything and try to get things back to the way they were when they were good (meaning get back together with Nini) so that at least something feels right.
Gina has actually kind of been showing us who she is in the little asides since the beginning. She puts on a facade of being in control and a little cut throat, but she’s actually pretty insecure.
Courtney dropping the real questions. Nini is definitely not over Ricky.
This Gina/Ricky heart to heart is actually kind of sweet, even though Gina’s doing it for the wrong reasons
Ricky practicing at home → adorable, I like that his dad joins him without making fun of him.
Carlos is so worried that Ricky’s going to assault him, that poor boy
I think this is when we see that Ricky’s starting to actually like doing musical theater a little bit. He shows what he worked on to Carlos and he didn’t even know Nini was there.
Carlos is so proud of him
“I thought you quit,” “Not doing that anymore,”
Ricky’s so proud of himself
Nini’s avoiding EJ after seeing Ricky, she was not ready to be in a new relationship → there’s a reason why it’s called a SHOWmance
Ashlyn!! Why does Ashlyn seem to think that she’s so forgettable?
Miss Jenn really is not a responsible adult
EJ is trying so hard to be charming
Wondering!! One of my favourite songs in the series so far! It’s so beautiful.
Although I’m really not sure how it connects to Mrs. Darbus. Like it definitely connects to Nini and Ashlyn’s characters, but I’m not sure how it’s going to connect to Mrs. Darbus. I could also see it connecting to Troy, but not Mrs. Darbus
Ricky’s face when he sees them, he’s so entranced (and you know what, fair, me too)
Also they are so happy and are connecting to the music so perfectly
I like that they call the drama room the ‘bomb shelter’
Ok, first of all, these kids would definitely know what the phone was if they had seen the movie, and second of all their parents would have had phones like that when they were growing up.
Not a fan of the people who think that kids know nothing about “old technology”
V hudge
Gina back with the confidence and how did she know that EJ wanted Ashlyn to steal Nini’s phone?
I just rewatched the part where he asked Ashlyn to steal it, and Gina is nowhere to be seen
