Help for when you’re having a rough time

(If you're looking for my old pinned post with my whump masterlists, you can find it here.)

In light of some deeply sad news in the whump community today, I’m thinking about how many of us here struggle with mental health, sometimes including physical or mental self-harm and suicidality. Since I know lots of folks might be having a hard time right now, I wanted to share some resources that have helped me in rough moments. Please feel free to add on to this post (or make your own, if you want!) with the resources that have worked for you.

First, a note:

Trauma, shame, and suicidality all tend to isolate - they make us feel like we’re all alone in the world, like no one else would understand us, and like the only solutions we have available to us are ones we can think of all by ourselves. In my experience, the antidote to that is connection. If you’re feeling scared or alone, you can hop into my asks or DMs if you want. I’m sure there are other folks in this community who would offer that, too. Many of us have grappled with mental health struggles, including suicidal ideation, and sometimes we can offer each other the care that can be hard to offer ourselves. Don’t be afraid to reach out if you need support.

A quick note about location: I live in the US, but about half the resources in this post are written guides you can access from anywhere. The hotlines and warmlines linked below are US-based. One or two are accessible in Canada or have an online chat or moderated forum that could be accessed anywhere. If you have good local resources from another place, please reblog and add them! (Thank you, @straight-to-the-pain, for flagging this in the notes!)

That said, here’s my absolute first recommendation if you’re feeling generally awful and don’t know what to do:

1. You Feel Like Shit (also available at its original site here)

If you’ve read a lot of ~self care tips~ in your life (and if you’re a bit of a salty bitch like me), you might be sick of being told to eat something and take a nap. (I don’t think we can hydrate our way out of long-term trauma and late-stage capitalistic hell, but thanks.) That said, I’ve found this site REALLY helpful. Personally, I have ADHD and CPTSD, a combination that makes it ROUGH for me to know how to take care of myself sometimes. This site speaks to you calmly, like a non-judgemental friend, and walks you through steps that you might struggle with if you have a hard time with executive function in general, or if you’re ill, grieving, overwhelmed, or otherwise just off your game. I pretty much always walk away feeling at least a little better, even if I don’t complete every step.

2. The 15-Minute Rule (info available in many places; after a quick google, I really like this site as a place to start)

One key principle to understanding the resources I’ve put together here is the 15-minute rule. If you’re feeling an urge towards physical or mental self-harm or suicide, studies show that the urge is unlikely to last more than about 15 minutes at its peak intensity. (Sorry I don’t have data on this off the bat - anecdotally, I can tell you that this rule also tracks with my own personal experience.) This means that, if you’re presently feeling overwhelmed by grief or pain that’s turning inwards on you, if you can stay afloat through the next few minutes, the tide of it is likely to ebb. The site I linked above has information about this concept and some great harm-reduction ideas, too. (Another resource on this that I liked in my quick search is here.)

3. Read This First (a compassionate distraction from feelings of self-harm)

I’m gonna be honest; this resource is aimed at folks having urges towards physical self-harm, but it looks like something I would find helpful with urges towards emotional self-harm, too. (It also looks like it could be handy for body-focused repetitive behaviors - BFRBs - like dermatillomania/skin-picking or trichotillomania/hair-pulling).

4. Resources from Pete Walker, psychotherapist and author of Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving

Obviously not everyone reading this will have complex PTSD (also called C-PTSD), but if you’re a person who, in general, tends to beat yourself up a lot, I’d highly recommend checking Pete Walker’s work out. If some of it doesn’t apply to you, that’s okay - take what you need, and leave the rest. This site (and the book it references most heavily) assumes you may have had parents who were emotionally or physically abusive or neglectful. If that doesn’t ring true for you, but other parts of the resources seem helpful, use them anyway! A handy place to start maybe this page on Shrinking the Inner Critic in Complex PTSD (that is, reducing the volume of the voice that screeches unpleasantness at you when you feel ashamed or scared).

As a note: this website looks VERY mid-2000s (which I kind of love). Most of the resources you want will be in the right-hand column full of links. Some of those links will open new pages, and some will automatically try to download a PDF of the article you want to read.

5. Warmlines:

This is something I just learned today - if you’re feeling really lonely and sad, but you’re not in immediate crisis, there are warmlines you can contact! These seem to be numbers where you can call (or sometimes text) to talk with a counselor or trained peer when you need support and connection. I can’t vouch for any of these numbers personally, but as someone who has definitely thought, “It’s not bad enough to REALLY need help,” I think this is a fabulous idea. Here’s a list of warmlines you can check out in the US.

6. Specialized hotlines:

There are lots of good crisis hotlines out there, but some may be better for your needs than others. For one thing, if you’re feeling seriously suicidal, it’s good to know the policies of the hotline you’re calling. In my opinion, everyone deserves bodily autonomy and the right to refuse care; for that reason, I think it’s important to know the policy of the hotline you’re calling as to whether or not they’ll call emergency services without your consent. Everyone has to make their own judgment call on this one, and I’m a little too (lightly!) triggered to go deep into my analysis on this right now, but I wanted to flag that it’s something to be aware of - if you’re going to call a hotline, you can try to look up their policy on calling emergency services before you contact them. You could probably even ask them in the beginning of the call. (A script: “Before we start, can you tell me what your policy is about contacting emergency services on behalf of callers?” If this is true, you can add: “I’m having some feelings of [suicidality/self-harm], but I’m safe and am not in danger of hurting myself or others.”)

With that in mind, here are some hotlines that seem promising to me, in no particular order:

A. For queer and trans folks in general:

Trans LifeLine

Available in the US (1-877-565-8860) and Canada (1-877-330-6366)

Available in English and Spanish

Will NOT call emergency services without your consent (you can read more about this policy on their website, including here)

Peer to peer support for transgender and questioning folks; also, microgrants (small amounts of money) for trans-related needs!

Does not offer text/chat-based support

I’ve never used Trans LifeLine myself, but I’ve heard excellent things about it from peers who have.

The Trevor Project:

Support from trained counselors for queer, trans, and questioning folks

Definitely available in the US; I’m not sure where else.

Offers support via phone (1-866-488-7386), text message (678-678), and online chat (link here - scroll down to Start Chat)

Also offers an online peer support space, TrevorSpace, for folks ages 13-24

Their site says, “In very specific instances of abuse or a clear concern of an in-progress or imminent suicide, Trevor counselors may need to contact a child welfare agency or emergency service.” When you click Learn More, it takes you to their Terms of Service (informative, but in legalese that might be hard to parse if you’re in crisis).

Again, not a service I’ve used myself, but I’ve heard good things!

B. For BIPOC folks (Black folks, Indigenous folks, and people of color more broadly), especially those who also hold LQBTQI identities:

Call Blackline:

Available via phone or text (both at 1-800-604-5841)

Available for people in crisis. Call Blackline can also help connect you with local community organizers and officials if you need to report a negative, inappropriate, or physical interaction with police, other law enforcement, or vigilantes.

From their website:

Call BlackLine® provides a space for peer support, counseling, reporting of mistreatment, witnessing and affirming the lived experiences for folxs who are most impacted by systematic oppression with an LGBTQ+ Black Femme Lens.Call BlackLine® prioritizes BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). By us for us.

Here’s what I found regarding their policy on emergency services:

You do not have to provide any personal information to use the service. All calls remain private and will never be shared with law enforcement or state agencies of any kind.

Of course, a BIPOC person can contact any hotline for support, but for people dealing with racism, anti-Blackness, and other specific bigotries, I can very much see the importance of talking to someone who shares or understands that experience.

C. For folks processing bad psychedelic trips:

Fireside Project:

This one is something I didn’t even know existed! They do call- or text-based support (1-623-473-7433, or 1-62-FIRESIDE) for people processing psychedelic drug experiences, available 11am to 11pm Pacific time. I don’t have a ton more info, but their site seems really interesting and like they’re serving a unique need.

7. A soothing distraction:

One of the glories of the internet is the fact that it enables us to conjure up images of kittens at a moment’s notice. In that vein, I want to offer up a VERY cute distraction: Peptoc is a hotline (1-707-873-7862, or 1-707-8PEPTOC) where you can hear encouraging messages in English or Spanish from kindergarteners. How sweet is that? (Thanks to the wonderful @newbornwhumperfly for this suggestion!)

Hello, hello!

Oooo, that's a really good question...hmm...

I think a lot of it is exposure therapy. I've been posting fanfic online for almost a decade by this point, so I've just done it so much that I don't really think about it. I also just enjoy sharing my work, it makes me so happy when folks follow along with my stories and get to take them on a ride!

The second thing I'd like to say is that while the internet is a cruel place and we're all used to that, I want to kinda push back against that a bit...like I said, I've been posting for almost a decade on various platforms...FF.net, tumblr, A03, and I can count on one hand the number of hate comments I've gotten. Honestly? I've only received like maybe a dozen comments that were even mildly rude, so if the fear is that people will be mean about your work, I sincerely doubt that will happen.

I've written so much for Hermit/Traffic/Empires, and I've yet to receive a true hate comment on a single fic for this fandom.

If you love your fic, people will love it with you. At least, that's what I like to believe! But if you never put it out there, you can never have the chance to experience that fun and connection with others that comes from sharing a good story, as an author or as a reader!

Greetings and salutations, a fresh month approaches and with it a fresh monthly art party, hosted by [VS] Verdant Shield! But what’s that ominous stomping and grunting I hear? Could it be....the origins of the infamous charr wall???? Let’s find out!

For those not in the loop, art parties are an idea carried over from Final Fantasy XIV and are basically get-togethers for artists/writers/creatives of all kinds to hang out, chat, and create together! Get your most striking look together, find someone that catches your eye, and create! Afterwards, everyone shares their creations using a common party-specific tag (ours is #VSArtParty) so others can see and spread the love via reblogs! The most important thing I always say about these is this: the ‘goal’ of an art party is not to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!

Location Details:

We’ve finally made it all the way to the Easternmost of the racial cities, the Black Citadel! I anticipate our charr attendance is about to skyrocket and our shenanigans will reach an all-time high, so prepare yourselves!

The charr home instance Hero’s Canton is very easily accessible nowadays via hopping over the wall on whatever mount suits you best from either Mustering Ground Waypoint (NW) or I believe Factorium Waypoint (SE). Once inside, head to the Southwest corner to find Hero’s Forum, a bar area with tons of space and seating areas!

Time & Squad Details:

Just like before, we’ll be having 2 parties - one for EU and one for NA - with an hour break in between. Of course, if you want to stay at the location and continue socializing after, that’s totally fine too! Fair warning: quite a few of the people who attend the EU party also attend the NA one on alt accounts, so expect the NA party to be much more densely populated!

The first party will be on EU servers and begin at 9pm Central European Summer Time (aka 3pm Eastern Daylight Time or 5 hours before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting on my EU alt account, so to join either /squadjoin or whisper Stormcaller Nell for an invite.

The second party will be on NA servers and begin at 7pm Eastern Daylight Time (aka 1am Central European Summer Time or 1 hour before in-game reset). This one I’ll be hosting on my main account, so to join either /squadjoin or whisper Veska Bonefang for an invite.

IMPORTANT NOTE (mostly for the NA party): If you join and the squad is at or above 45 members, please just taxi into the right map and then hop out of squad to allow others to do the same! Essentially all conversation now happens in saychat so you won’t miss out on anything by being outside of squad!

Closing Words:

This isn’t the last party, but it is the last of the ones structured in this way! Now that we’ve completed our West-to-East sweep, next month I’ll start posting a poll for everyone to vote on the location instead! Since I do these announcements a week in advance, and polls last a week, expect the first one to show up 2 weeks before the next party, or 3 weeks from now! And, if you have suggestions for other potential locations to try out, feel free to send me an ask or DM with it and I’ll check it out!

Okay, so.

The ✨ Discord Server ✨

I need to preface you guys with a few things and I want to get some stuff off my chest first before I hop on this project.

Both of our co-host, Lucifer (Hazbin), and main host, Loki (MCU), are still severely source connected and will talk the most (specifically Loki). If you’re also source connected and cannot break away, we’re right there with you and you’ll still be safe. Source connection will not be exactly be like source. (We wanted to be more open about this to get the fear out of the way).

If you have issues with people or sources, do not bring it up in general chats and do not dm them. There’ll be other chats that you can go to.

I’m gonna take my time on setting this up because I’m torn between making this a 16/17+ or 18+ (no nsfw) server because I want everyone to be able to learn if something they say is misinformation and I want it to be a safe space for everyone here (assuming majority of people here are under 18). So I’m stuck making a list of pros and cons for that.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to send them in an ask or send me a message (I don’t bite, I promise.) If you can’t get ahold of me, contact @chaosbuddies. They’ll be running the server with me as an owner :)

taking inspiration from kasey with the pinboards. Here is my plotting/ starter call for the mini event. If you want a starter please be very specific about muses. Also if you like this for plotting i'll hop into your DMs. I'll be dropping most older threads pre event but keeping new ones going or plot heavy and important ones. But yeah that's it from me here goes:

Alastor - Going Solo

Alastor is chaos so he is likely going to be wandering around, watching and learning. Causing some chaos. Maybe talk to a few people, get a few secrets from people. He might offer up a song or two. Possible plots: People wanting to cause chaos with him, someone who spills their heart out to him, roaming around the museum together, judging people together. (2/3) - Shu Hualing, Clara

Angel - Going with Buffy Summers

Angel does not like events like this. He is going because he wants to be with buffy and he is trying new things. But he's still often going to be found wandering or in a corner. Possible plots: people watching from the sidelines as well, wandering the museum together (1/3) - Buffy

Billy Loomis - Going with Jill Roberts

Billy wonders what sort of chaos will happen but he is looking forward to getting to dance with his girlfriend. On this night he might not be focusing on Ghostface quite as much and more on her. (He does still have his knife on him just in case). Possible plots: causing a little bit of chaos, drinking, wandering around. (2/3) - Jill, Tara

Charles Xavier - Going with Ororo Monroe

Charles promised her to focus more on her so for this time he is really trying to make it about her and not work. He is going to try his hardest but will be quite sad that he cannot dance with her properly. Possible plots: Charles talking your muses ear off about the museum, having a drink with the professor, exploring the museum. (3/3) - Rose, Feng Yu , Ororo

Charlie Weasley - Going with Lydia Martin

After the war he struggles with big social events so it is going to require some getting used too. Especially since he used to be a social butterfly. He will be drinking, exploring and just chatting to as many people as possible. Possible plots: exploring, having a dance, drinking buddies. (1/3) - Dora

Charlotte Emily - Going with Max Lightwood

Charlotte never really got to experience these things and the random date thing with Max as well makes her nervous. Cleo Mckinnon - Going with Thor Odinson

Cleo just wants to get away from the family drama and have a fun night. Cordelia Goode - Going with Alastor Moody

Cullen Rutherford - Going with Jing Xi

Cullen doesn't like events like this but being who he is he needed to show his face and participate in the event. He is really awkward and uncomfortable but he will try. Just be ready for awkwardness. possible plots: exploring the museum, having a drink together, getting some fresh air, fellow government staff, catching him trying to sneak off. (0/3)

Dream - Going with Avar

Dream is not good in places like this. But he is trying, he really is. He will likely be on the sidelines most of the time. He won't try to leave because he's there with Avar but likely spending a lot of time outside. possible plots: exploring the museum, getting some fresh air, being with him when he tries a drink, judging people together. Fleur Delacour Weasley - Going with Bill Weasley

Fleur cannot wait to be able to dance with her husband. She enjoys these sorts of events and looking forward to a romantic evening. She is excited to see how everyone is dressed. possible plots: exploring the museum, getting some fresh air, talking about the fashion. (1/3) - Bill

Harwin Strong - Going with Rhaenyra Targaryen

Getting to go to an event like this with his wife. He is very excited because he never got to show them off back home. They got that one dance together and it was so nice, one of the times he knew he loved them. He never got to show his affection so getting to now, he is very excited. He is so in love and cannot wait to dance with them. Even if he is not overly fond of parties. possible plots: exploring the museum, getting a drink, parents happy to have a night off. (0/3)

Henry Creel - Going with Phoebe Buffay

Henry is curious if anything will happen at this event. He is very intrigued by the whole thing. He agreed to do the blind date thing out of sheer curiosity. Not that he actually cares but he is a curious individual. He will be hungry for some chaos. possible plots: exploring the museum, creating some chaos, catching him trying to sneak into a place he shouldn't be going. (0/3)

Hera Syndulla - Going Solo

It'll be a fun night even if she's going solo. It's going to make her miss Kanan more than usual but she's happy to show her face. She wants to support her colleagues and meet new people. Maybe explore the museum. possible plots: hanging out with colleagues, having a drink or two, interacting with her pilots, exploring the museum. (0/3)

Hunter - Going with Rowena Ravenclaw

Hunter is getting better about going to these events. He is become more accustomed to not just being a soldier. He is looking forward to spending some time with Rowena, he will not dance because he cannot dance and doesn't want to embarrass him in front of her. He will try not to work either. possible plots: enjoying the vibes, exploring the museum, having a drink, someone trying to convince him to dance. (2/3) - Feyre, Rowena

Iorveth - Going with Lexi

Iorveth doesn't do these sort of events. Back home he was actively shunned so he never got to. He doesn't know how to do these sort of parties but of course Lexi dragged him along. He is reluctantly there. He will not dance. (Lexi will likely make him). possible plots: exploring the museum, having a drink or a few, watching from the sidelines, going outside for a bit. (0/3)

Loki Laufeyson - Going Solo

Loki is going because of curiosity and he works at the museum but he's not super keen. He doesn't need the reminder of all the festivities back home that he suffered through because no one really wanted to interact with him. But he's here. He might set of some magical fireworks or bring things in the museum to life because funny. possible plots: playing some tricks, exploring the museum, having a drink or a few, catching him trying to escape. (1/3) - Wei Wuxian

Nimona - Going with Reggie Peters

Nimona is ready to cause some chaos. She's never really been to an event like this and never gone while on a date. They have no idea how to navigate it but she's excited. Hopefully people will join in on the chaos they want to create. possible plots: causing chaos and mischief together, dancing, having a drink, exploring. (1/3) - Kaz

Peter Hale - Going with Bev Marsh

Peter is very intrigued and just happy to go with Bev. He can be very social and very charming. He is looking forward to dancing with Bev and having an evening just hoping nothing crazy happens. possible plots: having a drink or two, exploring the museum (2/3) - Bev, Allison

Rabastan Lestrange - Going with Narcissa Black

The main thing is he is looking forward to spending the evening with his fiance and getting to celebrate with her. He is going to avoid getting into fights and avoid any of the idiot brigade as much as possible. He will not engage in fights. possible plots: having a drink or two, exploring the museum, someone trying to engage in a fight with him. (0/3)

Satine Kryze - Going with Obi Wan Kenobi

Going as besties to enjoy the evening. Have a few drinks and relax. It is comforting to just have him around and going with him eases any stress she might feel about all of this. She knows it's important to show her face as well as a senator. possible plots: other government people, having a drink or two, exploring the museum. (0/3)

Sanji - Going with Nami

Sanji is over the moon excited to go with Nami to this and to get to dance with her. It will be interesting to have the rest of the crew see them together but he doesn't care about any judgement, he wants to make this night special for Nami. possible plots: straw hats seeing nami x sanji together, having a drink or two, judging the food together, exploring the museum. (2/3) - Usopp, Nami

Shanks - Going with Yor

Shanks is very intrigued about this. Never really experienced anything like this but he loves a social event. Getting to talk to people and he is very interested to get to know Yor a bit more. possible plots: having a few drinks together, exploring the museum, having a dance, judging people. (1/3) - Yor

Silco - Going with Emma Swan

Silco feels he needs to go as the Secretary of the Treasury and participate in the blind date thing. He does intend to sneak away at some point. He will try to enjoy himself but it is Silco. He will be very worried about Jinx. possible plots: having a drink together, exploring the museum, judging people. (1/3) - Jinx

Sion Val Palpatine - Going with Ashley Brown

Sion is not letting Ashley out of his sight. He just wants them to have a happy evening together after everything. He wants to dance with her and be with her. He doesn't want drama so he will avoid serious conversations. possible plots: having a drink together, exploring the museum, trying to have a deep convo with him and he's not doing it. (2/3) - Rey, Ashley

Tenel Ka Djo - Going with Jacen Solo

Tenel is hoping for a nice evening with Jacen. She doesn't want drama or anything just a chance for them to have fun. They both need it but she is very aware that they will be surrounded by their family. She is still going to try to enjoy herself and make sure Jacen isn't stressing. possible plots: having a drink together, judging people, exploring the museum. (2/3) - Jacen, Jyn

Percy De Rolo - Going with tbc

With his memories he is happy to get to go to an event like this. Respectability and dancing. It was something he missed. Constant battles and fighting, now he is happy to get to spend time with Vex on top of it. Though she doesn't remember, she is still Vex and he wants to make the night special for her. possible plots: having a drink together, exploring the museum, talking, gossiping (sort of) (0/3)

Yennefer of Vengerberg - Going with Geralt Of Rivia

Yennefer will try not to work but it will always be in the back of her mind to watch out for Leia. She enjoys dancing and socializing but never trusts events like this. She is looking forward to dancing with Geralt again. possible plots: fellow USSS trying to relax, exploring the museum, having a drink, gossiping. (2/3) - Dru, Zoya

Lyanna Stark - Going with Rhaegar Targaryen

so basically i kept seeing her with 911 related things, and then i got more into the swiftie side of tumblr too and they were also everywhere there, we became mutuals, she sent me their buddie ppt for swiftie ppt night (an immaculate work of art) and then we started chatting in DMs and asks and discovering that we are really fucking similar (one instance of this) and wanted to then send videos of rosa and juni so we exchanged numbers. and then for their birthday i wrote them a fic -- mind you i am oblivious at this point. i then sorta realized that i had a crush in like march or so and hopped on the dating apps again to try to combat it which got me three dates with someone but i was not comfy with them after that. so i deleted the apps again. and i get distracted by some other life stuff including realizinf that i need to fucking quit my job, so i deal with that. (all through out this amelia and i are sending each other asks about kissing each other etc etc) anyway-- July 2nd hits, Amelia is attending the Eras Tour, i'm watching a grainy lives stream as usual, and ms. swift begins to play ivy -- which is a very special song to amelia and i post this, why you ask? because i was crying over the fact that she was getitng to hear it live, and that i was by extension watching that happen through the stream, and that i was singing it with her too. i was down very bad. (still am btw) and then i said this and this

now-- its the end of september, crush night -- the pivotal moment. i reblog this and answer this ask amelia makes polls about dating tumblr mutuals etc etc -- moral of the story: we are dumb!!! It's that time of the year...

But also, given some of the complicated feelings being expressed in the fandom lately, it feels like it's only fair to mention our teeny, tiny discord of discontent in case people want a community where they can chat and debrief in real time.

If you’re interested in joining a discord community where we discuss The Rookie and chenford in a way that can be critical (or perceived as negative because criticism seems to equal negative these days), we are once again extending an invite.

The discord has been around since just before S5 started and my supremely biased take is that it’s a fun place to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the writing, how misogyny and racism play out in the show, the highs and lows of fandom, when the show is successful and when it fails at tackling challenging topics (like racism, police brutality, fertility, etc.) and any other criticisms or accolades you might have.

I do think it’s important to note that this is a discord for adults and adult topics and we all expect to engage politely, even when we’re ranting. If your default is to get immediately defensive of the show or characters or even your own opinion or feelings, this might not be the best fit and that’s okay!

Hiatus Update Notice

Hello, everyone. Long time, no talk. I know over a month has passed since most of you have even heard from me. There isn’t a particularly valid reason for this other than that sometimes I need space for myself, and I need time for my other hobbies and communities as well.

As most of you may have already surmised before my long period of silence, I was very much drawn to the new Pokemon games and still am, to be honest. Truth told, I have a whole server dedicated to my Pokemon friends and those who just want to game in general with me. Although I still love DL and am still just as, if not more obsessed with Ruki than ever, there was a time when writing as often and as much as I did burnt me out, honestly. I needed this break.

Not to sound like I'm complaining about how "popular" I am or anything, but it came to a point when many people were showing off their creations, whether it was art or new writing to me, and simply wanting to chat OOC in addition to the long RP threads and asks that I was also doing. Eventually, I felt as though I was just answering and replying people just to answer them. I didn't want to show my support for my friends' hard work by simply being like "that's neat" then move on, if that makes sense. Outside of Tumblr, I still had a life to attend to which also kept me busy.

I do appreciate that everyone was always eager to interact with me and send their wonderful OCs off to Ruki for their daily fill of shenanigans, angst, spice, or what have you. Yet at the same time, there were moments when I felt somewhat pressured to answer a lot of things in a short time frame, or was written off as remiss for my lack of participation with certain events. For that, I deeply regret not being there, but I also think I was there as much as any one person could be given that I was always writing with 20-30 other people at the same time.

Don't get me wrong—I really do miss roleplaying with everyone, and chatting with you all as well. It's just that I've fallen very behind on who I need to reply to, both DMs and thread-wise. It began to feel mentally taxing, but I hope to finally catch up when I'm in a better place. And I will always sincerely appreciate how many people on this website admire me for my canon portrayal of Ruki. I've always tried to keep it 100% fair on my blog and interact with people the same amount, regardless of how many asks or threads they try to start. Some of you would try to keep it to one thread at a time, whereas others had quite a few going with me, and both are fine. I just need to make it clear that, given the high volume of people interacting with my blogs, I won't always have a lightning-fast reply speed.

As for where I've been, my Pokemon community and discord server is honestly such a great place. Everyone there is super chill, and we hop onto voice call every other day to be sweaty gamers, lmao. I've connected with people I really respect these days, and while Ruki provides his support and care during his rare moments of sweetness amidst the sadism, I've been looking to my close friends for care, too.

Anyway, it was never my intention to worry anyone here with my prolonged absence. I hope to always stick around here on Tumblr, whether my activity is one post per day or thirty when I'm feeling energetic. It really all depends. Take care and stay well.

eddie catches you walking out of ms o’donnell’s class and asks you to meet him in the forest at lunch to talk. you’re sitting with your friends at lunch and before you know it it’s time to get back to work, completely forgetting about eddie. and he’s like super mad, like as mad as i was when max and eds died, because you accidentally bailed on him.

after work when you’re on your way to your car he stops you, not saying a word for a while. then he leans down and kisses you, soft, slow and sweet. he’d calmly ask you why you bailed on him and wouldn’t believe you when you say you totally forgot.

and then a switch flicks in his mind.

“oh so you’re lying to me now too?” and now he’s got you pressed against the door of the driver’s side of your car.

he totally spits in your mouth at some point if you’re into that (even if you’re not he does it anyway and if any drips out of your mouth he smacks your ass, hard) maybe pulling your hair to get you to look him in the eye… you know, the usual. and getting you to call him master, he fucking eats that shit up and it makes his ego skyrocket.

“i was gonna just kiss you,” he says, pulling you against him, opening the door to the backseat. “but now I’m gonna fuck you until the only word you can remember is my name. and then you’ll never forget about me again…”

smacks your ass again when you call him eddie instead of master but he doesn’t correct you, he waits for you to correct yourself.

fucks you so dumb you can’t even remember your own name. the only words leaving your lips being a mix of “please” “eddie” “daddy” “sir” and “master”

he goes fucking feral when you call him sir and/or master

doesn’t pull out. “if you wanna keep calling me daddy like a little fucking slut, i’ll make you a mommy, you got that you little bitch?”

um yeah… this one time he’s so angry that he can’t even stop the disgustingly hot words from escaping his plush lips…

the kids complain about the noise later that night coming from his bedroom in the trailer while they’re all having a sleepover to keep safe from the vecnabus:

el asks about the happy screams. max interrupts her before she can ask if it’s the same thing billy used to do with girls, and steve. erica asks too many questions and calls you two “disgusting nerds, but it’s not as bad as what i found under lucas’ bed”. lucas is begging erica to shut the fuck up, later agreeing with her. will couldn’t really care less, he’s just happy for you and steve. dustin is in the bathroom throwing up because apparently his dad isn’t allowed to find somebody that isn’t steve. mike agrees with will because he obviously does because he’s in luuuuuurve.

steve wishes it was him who got to ruin you, as do robin and nancy. argyle has no idea what’s going on and jonathan’s still trying to figure out why joyce had to go see the britanicas so he’s not focussed on what happened with you and eddie. murray will be proud when he gets home. joyce and hop will be too until hop finds out your door was only open two inches (THREE INCH MINIMUM), and joyce will also make sure you two are doing it safely. you’re not because eddie wants to fuck a baby into you but shhh don’t tell joyce she’ll freak the fuck out (but then she’ll also be happy). wayne will ask why you guys hadn’t fucked sooner and billy will be smiling down at you two from heaven, proud of his little bitches (you guys all used to have threesomes but more on that later)(steve joined in sometimes)

and the neighbours knock around complaining about the noise but y’all just blame it on the wind.

Listen to my last night:

At ~6:30 last night I get a dm from the guy I met in NYC in January at Beetlejuice who is also from my town. He wants to know about the show I'm in coming up; I give him the info. We chat a little and I end it with, "Can't wait to see you again"

At 7:44 he replies, "wyd right now? I'm thinking about seeing Evil Dead. It's in 45 minutes"

"right now" I am sprawled out on the couch in shorts, a tank top (no bra) watching that shitty "Meg 2 The Trench" with a dog laying on top of me and my husband. I sit up. I say to husband, "You care if I go see Evil Dead the Musical right now?"

He's like, ". . . what . . . ??"

Fast forward, I'm driving 50 miles an hour on downtown streets, almost hit a motorcycle cop, pick up my friend who's walking down one of the main streets in the city, learn he's been bar hopping all day and just got out of a strip club when he realized the musical still had seats open, also learn about different types of yeast they use for brewing beer (he's a brewmaster) and make it to the show with 2 minutes to spare.

It was a fucking blast and so out of the ordinary from what I typically do. Oh, and my friend bought my ticket because I picked him and bought him a beer at the show. 🙂

hey everyone! i probably should've made a post like this for my pinned ages ago, but better late than never, i guess? i'm going to stick part of this below a readmore because it got a bit long oops. you don't have to read this by any means but it's here now if you're interested!

★ i am also deeply in love with kingdom hearts and it's one of the things you can expect to see a lot of posts about. riku is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time and i would die for sorikai.

★ if you couldn't guess by my url i'm also brainrotting hard over twisted wonderland lately and will likely continue doing so for the foreseeable future. i have soooo much love for so many of the characters i literally can't even pick a favorite dorm. but riddle and idia are practically tied for the spot of my fave character and i ship riddle/floyd and idia/vil very hard.

★ i am very into pokemon but especially the hoenn, unova, alola, and paldea regions and the pokemon mystery dungeon series. love pokemon adventures/pokespe as well.

★ so the above things are kinda the main fandoms you'll see on here but my brain is also constantly hopping between other interests and getting me in the mood to reblog and talk about different things!! some of those other things can include uhhhh the PJO universe, utdr, twewy, the original sherlock holmes stories + granada TV series, LOTR, ace attorney, avatar the last airbender, neopets, and also just. so many other things. unfortunately i shove 90% of what i like onto here instead of having sideblogs for the most part.
