well that's the best part about hermitcrafr! this isn't lore, or a story, or planned. this is just what they genuinely wanna do. there's no character here
Gotta love not knowing anything about Hermitcraft lore but still loving some of the characters, all I know is that there was a fishing craze and now grian is creating the backrooms to prevent the other hermits from getting permits

i think it's very funny that in flashbacks, the gems have slightly different forms to their current one, and they even update their form throughout the show.
but sometimes, we get little references to their pilot looks in transformation sequences, mostly from pearl. this would seem to imply the gems just had a REALLY WEIRD short phase where they changed their looks completely.

LIMITED LIFE SPOILERS
i think Limited Life was my favourite series
i was a huge fan of how the teams were very much tight knit and rarely betrayed (Bad Boys, TIES, Clockers/The Family, Nosey Neighbours, whatever Scott and Martyn were calling themselves). it was really fun to see team loyalty, which i think was caused due to the fact that if you killed a teammate, they had so much more opportunity as well as reason to get you back, because this was the first series to give a direct reward for killing.
it also felt like there really was a good guys/bad guys side to it. martyn and scott being a clear villain from everyone's perspective, the TIES and Bad Boys taking a 'hero' role, and clockers and nosey neighbours taking a very neutral position. (though i will say, this all does depend on the perspective you watched, as i was so kindly reminded of)
im no professional analyst, but maybe someone who is can make this make more sense.

An Atheist would have a lot of things that someone of faith would as well, like breath, or innate value as a human being, or potential for relationship, or hands to toil, or love to give... etc etc This specific element of apologetics (morals, I mean) is worth reading about. The first couple chapters of Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis will articulate this better than I, a lowly anon, ever could. These are fair questions to ask, and some would argue even asking them shows a longing (or at least openness) to God. I hope you find Him... God bless, friend! <3
yeah no openness here.

I think the question is more along the lines of "where do these morals come from if they are not innately placed there by our creator?" not "how do you know to be good without the bible?" The bible certainly guides people where they are perhaps struggling (as a result of the fall, we will all struggle with immoral things and thoughts through our lives), but I personally have never interpreted that question to be suggesting that morality comes from fear of punishment, rather than God's perfect plan for us (which we tainted with sin). I've always seen it to mean "our morals come from somewhere, atheists just don't know that"
this is a fair point, but also confuses me for the same reasons. why does a moral code have to come from somewhere? humans innately know what's right and wrong internally, who says a god had to come up with that? the way i see it, if an atheist has morals (which, obviously, we do) then that in itself proves that a god has no say in our morals.

Warning
this rant is about serious topics, like human morality, and religion. scroll past it you aren't a fan of that.
i think it's absolutely bonkers how (hateful) evangelicals will often say "how can an atheist have morals without a god?" like??? how do YOU have morals?? there are two main things that i think an evangelical may mean by this:
1. why would you be moral if you have no fear of punishment
2. why would you be moral if life is pointless
i wanna talk about 1 first. if a fear of punishment is what separate you between good and bad, then you're not a good person. if the dilemma that faces you when you're given the option of 'do good thing' and 'do bad thing' is "what if i go to hell?", then your moral code is fundamentally flawed and concerning.
and when it comes to 2, it's the same. if your only drive to do moral things is the idea that there's a point to it all, then that's just strange? so what if there's no point, why the hell would that stop you from being moral?
idk. open to suggestion and criticism on this one

Thinking about how Third Life was about suspense. Something is coming, we don’t know what or when, but it is on the horizon. You build a kingdom on shifting sand, knowing the ground is unstable but praying it will stay. It never does. The world was always going to crumble, we knew that from the start. The end was written before the beginning, we’re just here to watch how it happens.
Last Life was about dread. After seeing everything you built destroyed — with the image of your home on fire fresh in your mind — the world is darker from the start. You make bonds knowing they will break. You build kingdoms knowing they will fall. You create knowing destruction awaits. There is no peace, only the ever-building burden of the knowledge that this time won’t end any different.
Double life was about fate. The illusion of choice is gone: you are bound to another human being, you have no control whether you live or die. You can try to protect them in order to protect yourself, or you can push them away - after all, what real duty do you have to each other anyway? Still you know that when it ends, it ends together. You cannot escape them, but somehow you still end up dying alone.
Limited Life is about inevitability. No matter what happens, no matter what you do right or wrong, you have an expiration date. No one is making it out alive. We’re here, watching the timer tick down, knowing this only ends one way. We’ve don’t this song and dance before, it’s only a question of what happens before the timer hits zero.
