"Yancy Academy had a new Art Teacher.
Monsieur Poitiers was quite funny in his looks: short and stocky the teacher looked like an egg, with two thin black moustache he liked to roll up on his index finger.
The task he had assigned Percy for the end of his school year was quite peculiar too: the teen had to "catch the essence of a Hero" in an artwork, using the materials he preferred.
Sculpture, painting, mosaic: it mattered little. Mounsier Poitiers didn't give him any kind of limit, Percy could choose the form of art he liked best. The only thing the teacher asked for was that the message had to come "straight from his heart".
At first Percy didn't give much thought to his assignment. I mean: being a demigod himself, his life was full of "Heroes", so how hard could it be?
His mom was a hero. Annabeth was his hero. As soon as he had time to work on it, he was sure to finish his painting in the blink of an eye. However...
Nothing. His mind was blank.
He tried to picture Annabeth on a canvas or as one of those white marble statues he had seen at the Museum, but nothing worked.
It was driving him bonkers! He took a deep breath. He was tired. That's all. He could work on his drawing another day.
New quests, new missions, new bullies. His life was so messed up, he soon forgot about his art assignment.
Well, till the day before he had to hand it over.
When he finally remembered the artwork, Percy went crazy. It wasn’t like he wasn’t used to bad grades, but he really liked Monsieur Poitiers and didn't want to disappoint him.
So Percy started to fiddle with some shells and colored glass he had collected near Mountak. In truth he didn't have any idea of what he was doing. He was just putting things together on a hunch. Soon, however, the shells took the shape a face; yet they were not quite right in his eyes. They lacked... something, one last touch.
Yellow and white and orange. Gold right there! He needed to add something gold. And light blue. The kind of blue the sky turned to just a moment before a summer storm blew it.
He was so caught up in this weird art frenzy he forgot to eat that night, but finally! It was done. Finito. Caput.
He was going to ace his test, he was sure of this!
The next day Mounsier Poitiers was quite pleased with his student. The teacher spent words on words to praise the perfection of his work: such strong feelings! Percy's artwork deserved an A+, but the teen had to give it a title first!
"Hmm?"
Who was that man? The man Percy had portrayed in his mosaic, the hero who could evoke such passion in his teen heart?
At Percy's puzzled expression, Mounsier Poitiers laughed a little. The shades of gold in his hair, the scar on the candid cheek: it was personal. The man Percy had chosen as his Hero could not have been a stranger. There was warmth in this work, a deep love for the person who had been captured in shells and glass.
The teacher's words had the effect of a bomb on the poor boy. It was like being thunderstruck.
"Luke..."
Because it was Luke, there was no doubt. The hero who had inspired Percy's first A+ on a schoolwork was Luke Castellan".

I love Luke's character because hes allowed to be angry. And hes right in his anger. The problem is that he lives one toxic/abusive situation for another.
It's a Rabbit Hole.
Luke never had a positive force in his life. He was on survival mode pretty much always and this let his anger issues and traumas fester on his soul.
If you have no means to recognize what is affecting your behavior, you will repeat the same toxic patterns over and over again: a cage for another cage of your own doing.
It's like when the victim of an abuse becomes an abuser himself/herself to get some kind of control back. You repeat what you have experienced even if you don't know you're doing it.

I never watched stranger things. But I do know all about it from my sisters being a fan. I love the character Robin and any ship with Steve. Sadie Sink is a cool actress. Johnathan is creepy and love Will. Undecided on my feelings about Mike's character.
I like to dub Stranger Things as the show of the wasted potential. Characters like Billy, Eddie, Chrissy, Kali... they could have added A LOT to the plot but sadly... gods forbid we are fed anything other than het couples and cis characters!
Take Billy, for example. The actor worked so hard to contextualize Billy: to give us a solid background for him, his reasons, his feelings but nope... for the Duffer brothers, Billy was JUST a bully.
Mike is an amoeba. Like Jonathan, he lost his uselfulness seasons ago. However Eleven can't be the strong heroine she has to be without a boyfriend. So we have to put up with Mike.
And Jonathan? How can Nancy see how it's Steve the man of her dreams now without a dead weight to compare him to? Jonathan is still alive because Nancy has yet to break up with him (let's hope without cheating on him first 😑).
In Stranger Things, the secondary characters are always the best. For me, it's the main cast the one lacking.

The kid let go of his father’s hand and bent down to observe something in a puddle of water nearby. A strange long black string moved slowly in wide circles. Suddenly it stopped: it rose on his willowy body to observe the young boy with its smart yellow eyes.
Nemo: "Hi! My name's Nemo Jackson-Milligan. What's yours?"
...
Nemo: "Really? I didn't know they existed! And they left you here? Baaaaadddddd!"
...
Nemo: "Do you want to come home with me? I'm sure Tata can smite them for you! He can make monsters too, you know?"
...
Nemo: "Okay 😁".
The long black string - close up, it looked more like a water snake - began to crawl towards Nemo, rolling up on the offered arm until it settled placid on the child’s shoulders.
Nemo: "Tata, Papàs!!! I made a friend!!! Can he live with us?"
Percy: "The fu... dge!!! 😳"
Luke: "Sure!"
Percy: "LUKE!!!"
Nemo: "His mama left him here, because he didn't want to kill some dude named Thoro? And he has been alone ever since! His name is Jur... Jor... I'm going to name him Juju 😁."
Percy: "Why do I feel like this is gonna bite us in the ass?" *facepalm* "You can't take home every animal you find, baby. They can be dangerous."
Luke: "It's a water snake, Percy. They're harmless 🤷. And every kid needs a pet sooner or later."

In you au what would Percy have to do to get in trouble with Luke? Put himself in danger? Do something reckless? Would he have ways of calming Luke down like Luke does with the cute baby trick?
Mmm 🤔 nice question to ponder on, @darkcrowprincess. Had to think about this a little and yesterday I wasn't in the best shape to do so, I'm sorry 🥲.
However today I feel better and my brain has been of help, so I could put together a few things.
I must say I quite like the headcanon I put together. I have been building my characters all along without realizing it 🤣. Shame, shame on me!
About rage
Nothing triggers Luke Milligan more than the random use of the word "family".
It’s a strange thing. If you ask him, I'm sure even Luke wouldn't be able to answer if this trigger of his is due to the memories he now has of his past life or if the reason lies in the self-righteousness with which his dad’s brothers have always flaunted their "we are family" speech to stab you in the back. However to hear someone say "I'm doing this for your sake because we’re family" pisses Luke off like nothing else in the world.
Growing up, his Dad taught him how the best way to make anything work is by talking about it. Father, instead, showed Luke how duty has nothing to do with guilt.
Mindful of Chuck’s yoke, Michael was always quite adamant about what Luke could and couldn't do. The archangel taught him how sometimes his actions would be dictated by necessity, other times because they were the right thing to do. However nothing- NOTHING! - will ever give Luke the right to decide for someone else 'cos "I’m your family, so I know what’s best for you". Michael was always pretty clear about this.
His human family is the best example of why you can't decide for someone else, even for a member of your own family. The first time Luke's dad died, it was because John Winchester "had known" what was better for Adam and had left him in the dark about the supernatural. Meanwhile an endless trail of people had to sacrifice their lives for the Winchesters' sick idea of family. (Not that his angelic family was much better, mind you).
So do you want to make an enemy out of Luke Milligan? Try to decide for him or to do something behind his back using the word "family" as your excuse. And Percy learned this in the hard way.
Is Percy reckless? Does he put himself in danger? No problem! Luke will be there by his side.
As a hothead himself, it would be hypocritical of Luke to ask Percy to be in any other way. And trouble is always funnier when shared 😁.
Said so if you’ve the bad luck to stumble upon the wrath of Luke Milligan, the only way you have to calm him down is to say sorry and tell him the truth. He is like a Hellhound in his rage: nothing can stop him till the enemy is destroyed. This is his Achilles' heel.
As Adam always said, it's a long way to go to solve his son's wrath issues. At least the daddy ones are not a problem anymore.

On my little black note of Doom, I have this little plot with Kronos adopting Luke during a previous Titan War. This way he had a son just his, only his.
From what Riordan wrote, Kronos wasn't always the monster we got to know in the end. He was even a good father for Hestia, before the fear for what she was got the upper hand. Overall he was quite misunderstood by his family. Rhea tried to some extent, but she has to protect her kids.
Sometimes I add things, but that's the basic plot. Can you imagine Titan Prince!Luke who looks at the Gods with contempt, is sassier than ever and calls Kronos "My old man?"
Ugh, I really need to find more time to write 🤔
if Kronos wasn't an idiot and actually worked with Luke instead of being an asshole like the rest of their family. They easily could have had the golden age back. Like his only plan was to torture the only person who helped you and than used his body even though it would kill him.
NGL Kronos fucked up by not endearing himself to Percy, or yk actually giving Percy a more personal reason to hate the Gods and join his side. Like, I think if Sally was hurt/killed by the Gods in the crossfire (particularly during his first quest), Percy might have sided with the Titans. Kronos really didn't do himself any favors by treating everyone else like shit, especially Luke.

Luke comes back to life in heroes of olympus headcanons:
People call him lighting thief as an insult. It pisses Percy off and makes him protective.
If people make any comments about Lukes suicide Percy will attack them. Without a sword. And they will be terrified of him.
Luke is so openly flirting with Percy, even if he's with Annabeth. Luke does not give a shit. He's a thief for a reason.
Luke is constantly giving Percy bi panic.
Luke has golden angel wings now, that if he steps out of line causes him pain. Basically they are his equivalent of godly ankle monitor and he is on probation.
Nico is so jealous of Luke. But also wishs he could be him sometimes.
Luke and Rachel bond and becomes friends.
Thalia and Luke make up and become friends again. Though Thalia gives him a hard time about it.
Luke is so good looking that mortals stop on the street to look at him. It constantly helps their quests become easier but makes Percy so annoyed.

Luke still has issues, the only person that calms him down is Percy.
Luke visits his mother a lot. He manges to get her some help. Percy mom helps a lot.

I headcanon that Luke wouldn't be controlling, instead they are both agents of chaos, but they're so in-tune with each other that it doesn't get too crazy.
Like, Luke is on his same wavelength. They complement each other instead of stifling the other, because they're Soulmates

i see this jason todd who actually looks his very young age (instead of the 30yr old man that comics like to portray)
and feel my heart breaking just imagining bruce beating him up, almost killing him, mind-breaking him, and just overall being a total piece of shit father towards him.
a huge chunk of the reason why people don't view bruce's actions towards jason as abusive or wrong is because jason doesn't look his age. he's drawn to be this 35yr old father of three who looks even older than dick (and way too on par with bruce) that people see their fights as one between batman and any of his regular rogues. when they fight, it just looks like batman is fighting a man his age and not an actual young person. it doesn't look like batman is fighting his son who's barely even drinking age (and who def wasn't drinking age in utrh). their fights are portrayed in a way that eliminates the very real power struggle between them.
this applies to jason's entire character as well. a lot of people don't sympathize with how he died or his actions as robin or his fights with the other bats because he doesn't look his age. he always looks older and scarier than everyone else. tim has many sympathizers from the titans tower incident because jason just looked like a grown man fighting a 12yr old (even tho i disagree, tim was built and like 17 lmfao).
anyways, i just wish comics would actually draw jason to look his age, which literally ranges from 19 to early twenties. he's young- so young, and it's so annoying to see him drawn and written as someone older than even bruce.
