Current Read! 🍒🩷💊🎀🛍️

So far, I’m loving this book! It’s a page-turner in an unexpected way, and manages to cover the misogyny of the time while being very relevant to today’s culture. I love the analogies Jacqueline Susann uses: for example, climbing Mount Everest being compared to the womens’ climb towards success. Once you reach the top there’s only one way to go: down.

Guess I gotta read Dracula now 🧛‍♂️

Reading Dracula rn and it’s actually really good. Some things I like:

- protagonist of the first few chapters so far cannot handle paprika

- doesn’t like being rude (so he goes with along with Dracula which turns out to be a bad idea)

- like multiple people tell him to wait a bit because it’s the one night of the year where all the bad stuff happens but he keeps restating that he doesn’t want to be rude

- Dracula crawls down the wall like a lizard man every night and the protagonist repeatedly call this a “lizard fashion” of moving (lizard style lol)

- three hot women try to eat him/ he feels kinda bad for thinking that they’re hot because he has a gf

It was a lot better than I thought it would be. There’s not really a moment where I am bored while reading it

I’m finally on the last 87 pages of Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Since I decided to read the complete series including novellas and prequels but I will say the first book has been very hard for me to get through. It’s definitely a fascinating young adult dystopian fantasy I’ve just had very little motivation to pick it up and read it. I still love the story and the characters and I’m really looking forward to reading the prequel Queens Song after this!
