No one cares about your zodiac, the only indicator of who you are and where you're headed is which "child getting rekt" scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was your favorite when you were young. Mine was when the girl eats gum and turns into a giant blueberry and has to get the juice squeezed out of her.

I love how plane rides are basically just adult preschool:
-having to listen to someone in charge when you don't want to
-having no way to leave on your own
-being told to stay in your seat even though you'd rather be moving around the room
-naps
-snack time for everyone

Listen, as much as I love the Jim Carrey grinch, I think any grinch film that gives him a tragic backstory to explain his hatred of Christmas misses how absolutely funny the book was for having him be a certified hater just for the heck of it. He was a straight-up menace, villain, and scoundrel and there didn't need to be any rhyme or reason to it
Dr Seuss really just said "maybe his heart is too small? Idk tho. Anyway watch him gaslight this child and commit animal abuse"

The Jim Carrey grinch is just a prime example of "men will do x instead of going to therapy"

Phineas and ferb really said to themselves "you know what our sister would really like for her birthday? If we defaced a national monument by carving her head onto it"
They KNEW she was a freaking narcissist and they just ran with it

Apparently they're doing this until at least the end of her funeral??? So we have to put up with this BS for FOUR MORE DAYS. Out of all the things in the world for which we could put the flag at half mast for this long, we really chose the death of a 96 year old foreign monarch of a country we left 250 years ago. Unbelievably dumb.
All over my US hometown people are flying the flag at half mast in honor of the queen. Genuinely ashamed, like we didn't declare independence for this smh

Just read the duchess of malfi for the first time! Thoughts:
1. LET. ANTONIO. AND. THE. DUCHESS. BE. HAPPY.
2. After reading how other characters described Antonio and the Duchess I was afraid they'd be idealized to the point of unrelatability. But then you get to see how they themselves act and they seem so real??? Their interactions were so cute??? The duchess proposes to Antonio and the audience isn't expected to shame her for it??? It's an actual healthy ship between characters of different social strata??? I did NOT see this coming. It's so progressive for its time (at least compared to other plays I've read from this time period). Good for Webster.
3. Ferdinand goes from the absolute worst in acts I through III to a top 3 character after going insane. I love how absolutely unhinged he is while there's still just enough tragic meaning behind his words that you can tell his madness is caused by his guilt
4. The villains' motives could've been more clear. Like they just don't want her to remarry because it's slutty? Because then her money would be going to a husband instead of them? Because they want to pick the man she marries? Because incest? Idk that was kind of weird
5. Screw Cardinal. All my homies hate Cardinal.
6. Also literally why does Bosola keep doing stupid crap??? Like he acts like he HAS to kill people just because someone gave him a job. Bestie, maybe just... don't take the job??????? You really thought your best option here was to just complain about how guilty you feel but commit homicide anyway??????????????? Bruh moment.
7. Stabbing Antonio was very Hamlet and Polonius of him.
8. I literally have no idea what the timeline of this play is. I know there's a time gap after she has the first kid but it feels like the rest of the play is taking place on the timeline it was following without the time gap? Idk if that makes sense, I guess I'm just not seeing why the time gap was necessary, or even how it was used, outside of allowing there to be multiple kids
9. Coriola making up excuses for why she shouldn't get killed was a well-needed moment of comic relief but also pretty sad because she didn't deserve that
10. Delio better adopt Antonio's son and raise him 😤. I feel like it was implied but I really need it to be explicitly clear
11. The tragic speeches and characterization were way better than I expected going in. I was legit tearing up at parts, which usually doesn't happen when I read plays, except like... hamlet (and one scene in all's well that ends well but we don't talk about that)
12. A likeable, strong, independent, but virtuous female character in Jacobean drama who isn't demonized for any of these traits? It's more likely than you think.
13. Kind of sad that Shakespeare plays are the only mainstream drama from this time period. Some plays from this period just freaking slap. (I recently read The Malcontent... SO good, guys. A very different type of play from this, though.)
14. Anyway yeah I really, really liked this. Very enjoyable even if there were some details that probably flew over my head as I went. At least an 8.5/10 (which is pretty dang good by my standards.)
