Peeling back the anxious thoughts is the toughest part, but it helps so much, especially when you write them down! Some of my favorite techniques:
1. What is the worse case scenario, and could you live with it?
2. What would you tell a friend going through this?
3. Will you remember this is in 5 years, or will you overcome it like you did with your past challenges?
I’ve been thinking about this little analogy for a bit, and it’s helped me reduce the weight a recent stressor has had on me. A manufacturing issue had been making me anxious this past few week, but when I stripped it down, it was just another blip that I’d deal with. I realized I had been adding all these layers of anxious thoughts onto something that I’d definitely overcome, even if the worst case happened. So I hope picturing your anxiety as an onion with a smaller, baby stressor inside can help you lighten the load of your anxieties!

synopsis ➵ your tired head falls on the stranger's shoulder on the train to work...
a/n ➵ hello again everyone! i haven't been posting any writing in almost four whole months!! i hope you missed me heheh :)) also, i hope it wouldn't be too much to ask for a reblog from your end? it really helps a small blog like mine :D love you all <33
he'd been minding his own business on the train to work, lost in thought about something or the other, when a warm feeling on his right shoulder had broken his train of thought. he'd looked over, and...well, he'd seen...you. he hesitates, glancing at your sleeping body resting on his shoulder. it's not as though he can't bear your weight on him, it's just...the touch is unfamiliar, something he's not used to, something he hasn't felt in what feels like an eternity. he sighs softly as you stir, not knowing whether he should wake you up or let you be. Well...it wouldn't hurt to be accommodating, now, would it?
xiao, zhongli, kazuha, albedo, ayato, diluc
a frown, or a scowl of some sort, is this man's reaction to most everything that happens to him, and he isn't giving this situation a free pass. the second he feels his neighbor seatmate's head drop onto his shoulder, he strikes his signature scowl. curse you for having the audacity to sleep on public transport anyway...why couldn't you just sleep at home? as he turns to shove you off his shoulder, though, he suddenly pauses, seeing your innocent, tired face. he curses himself internally for being so uncharacteristically soft today, but nevertheless changes his mind about shoving you off his shoulder. he'll just tell you to bring an actual pillow next time you choose to sleep on public transport. for now, he automatically stiffens himself, and prepares to lend you his shoulder until he gets to work. but this is only a one-time thing, of course...unless...
kaveh, wanderer
he blinks as he feels your head drop onto his shoulder. he already knows who you are - the tired-looking passenger who always, coincidentally, ends up sitting next to him. still, though, it's not like he knows you at all. he just pays attention to his surroundings better than most. so he finds it as almost second nature to shift himself a little, so you can be comfortable. sure enough, you unconsciously nuzzle your head into the crook between his shoulder and neck, your hair tickling his neck ever so slightly. he smiles softly, before yawning a little himself and resting his head on yours. maybe, he thinks, i could ask for their number when they wake up? just for their haircare products, nothing else...right?

it takes him quite some time to process what's happening. head...pretty person...my shoulder? then it all comes to him in a tidal wave, and he gasps. ask anyone around the two of you what he acted like, and they'd likely respond with, "just like a high school boy finding his sweetheart!" he immediately went all red, his blush spanning from the back of his neck to his nose. as nearby passengers send him curious glances, he stammers and tries to clarify the situation - a fruitless attempt, really, as it seems he can't even manage to get a single word out. if only you were awake to see the impact your mere touch had on this man...he does, though, eventually calm down enough to let you have a good, undisturbed nap.

xiao
night time routines with xiao are usually quick, convenient and filled with exhaustion. you have to remind him that its alright to wind down and be slow in your actions, which is followed with a quiet nod and the brushing of your hair afterwards. xiao loves falling asleep while toying with the ring on your finger, and you often wake up with your hands still laced.
zhongli
unlike xiao, zhongli knows how to take his time. callused fingers touch the lips of a steaming porcelain cup of tea, over and over again until your beloved is contented. he loves brushing your hair and you love running your hands through his. zhongli loves the time that he gets to lay on the bed with you, just before the both of you fall asleep to the stories he shares.
kaeya
kaeya’s night time routine with you can be as extravagant or as simple as you want it to be. he’s happy to do an everything shower, with clay masks and body scrubs and candles and more. in case you're extra tired though, he'd just put on a simple bath and help you wash your hair and back.
diluc
for diluc, he cares more about what you do to wind down before bed. diluc plays piano for you in the evenings after a hearty dinner by adelinde. his fingers dance along the ivory keys, lulling you to a sleep-like trance as you begin to nod off. diluc ends up carrying you back to bed, smiling and running his fingers through your hair.
childe
your ginger husband loves cuddling with you before bed. he also loves doing self care nights with you, and he's willing to wear an uncomfortable beauty mask if it meant that the two of you could take couple pictures after. childe typically is the big spoon, and both of you wake up the next morning with your hands intertwined.
al-haitham
al-haitham doesn't care about night routines, he's just happy to spend them with you. he watches you apply creams and masks with a smile on his face, questioning you if all your money spent on that really works – a laugh escapes as you bat at him. al-haitham hates to say it, but he loves wrapping himself around you at night.
kaveh
kaveh goes extremely over-the-top-extra when he does night care routines with you. sometimes you wonder how he knows about all these products when you don't.. what the hell is a niacinamide serum? sparkly face masks? you don't complain though, because it works. he knows all the discounts that happen and will get them all for you to use.

xiao trains with you every morning. he gets up at 5, with enough self discipline packed in his body to leave the comfortable covers and your embrace. of course, you always end up whining about the sudden lack of warmth, so xiao loves to hold your hand as he kisses your forehead, assuring you that he is always there.
zhongli
zhongli brings you cups of tea when you work. perfectly brewed and steeped to your liking. he knows which cups you like using – the porcelain cup with white brushstrokes on it, because it keeps the tea hot and seemingly never burns off your fingertips when you hold it.
kaeya
kaeya lets you in on secrets from the knights. any hearsay that isn't dangerous will always go to you – simply put, you know all the hottest gossip. donna was hitting on his brother again? oh, but someone yelled at her this time? interesting... kaeya never fails to let you be the first one to hear.
diluc
diluc always has a meal prepared for you when you get home. steaming hot plates of sweet and salty marinated chicken and salted grilled vegetables and dessert are almost an expectation now – he wants you to come home to a big, hearty meal to thank you for all the work that you do.
childe
childe brings you to see his family. they absolutely adore you and you adore them, so it's always a pleasure to see little teucer and not-so-little tonia. his parents love you and treat you like you were their child – they really are just waiting for their cowardly son to pop the question. it's funny to see childe go red in the face when they do that.
alhaitham
alhaitham covers you with blankets whenever he sees you sleeping outside at the study table, books and papers littered around your tired frame. he doesn't want to disturb you from your slumber, so he always makes sure to bring blankets and a soft item for you to lay your head on when you finally rest. he's thankful for that.
kaveh
kaveh brings you to play pranks on alhaitham. you're his accomplice, and as many times as he rolls his eyes, alhaitham knows that he makes a good date idea for the two of you. buckets of flour and water are the most common, along with misplacing the other man's akademiya papers. it always ends with a kiss and an embrace if it succeeds.
