Revising Their Stars by @momo-t-daye is a Harry Potter AU one-shot I read and enjoyed this week. I thought it was quite funny. It's set after Severus was nearly murdered by Remus in his werewolf form. In it, a bored Sirius crosses Severus while he's trying to do Astronomy work.
Upon seeing what he's up to, Sirius takes it upon himself to help Severus with his classwork and shares personal info about himself and his family along the way.
I love how wary and then bewildered Severus becomes over the course of his impromptu lesson with Sirius. It's also funny to learn that Severus uses hand soap to wash his hair and Sirius's horror at this knowledge. I felt it was thrifty of Severus and quite appropriate for a kid who has grown up poor like he has.
Sirius's offer to help Severus learn how to properly wash his hair and even promising to bring all the stuff necessary to do it was amusing as well. While Sirius's offer was innocent I can't help but think Severus may have taken it for a come-on.
Another thing I really liked about this fic was Sirius's characterization. He's wonderfully obtuse. He acts put-out at the start that Remus is still withdrawn from him (and the rest of the Marauders) even though the incident was now weeks ago. He also isn't apologetic about what he's done to Severus. He acts like their years-long feud is water under the bridge since he's agreed to no longer harass Severus.

The Boy Who Waited
Inuyasha had to wonder why the universe kept trying to teach him patience.
He’d had his first lessons in patience as a little boy, trying with a knock-kneed clumsiness to fend for himself in the wild. Crouching for long hours in the forest brush, waiting for some hapless creature—a squirrel, a opossum, or hell, even a field mouse—to scurry within swiping distance. Learning after nights of gut-knotting, writhing agony that he had to be more careful about which berries and mushrooms he ate, had to learn their scents, figure out the edible from the potentially lethal. Patience meant holding a palmful of wild berries in his shaking hand and, instead of shoveling the only food he’d found in days directly into his mouth, pausing long enough to make sure they weren’t poisonous. Patience did not come easy to a body that had not known a meal for days on end, a body that had forgotten it could be more than aching hunger.

I hate that planned obsolescence is starting to reach fandoms. I hate that fandoms are starting to die after two, three years, I hate that whenever you stop getting content that means the fandom will die and be gone.
I need people to stop trying to brush off old interests as being 'cringe' as soon as you lose interest, or worse: make it seem like it's imoral to like something that they themselves held so dear before.
Fandoms are meant to last for years and years, the moment content stops being created is the moment we truly thrive because we keep creating the content ourselves the way we love it and expand on the things that are already there for us.
I don't care if you lost interest on something, it's fine and normal even, but stop trying to blame and make fun of people who still do love the fandom and the content and the things we can create.
I need people to enjoy fandom again

Since my first list of Aizawa fics, I’ve read more fics with his character and found several more that I enjoyed a lot and wish to share. They are listed below->
maybe you'll get what you wanted (maybe you'll stumble upon it) by eagleharpies: T, no pairings
Oboro lives in a permanent state of boyhood, frozen into his school photo and kept in a lockbox hidden in the corner of the school roof.
the bare minimum by @queenangst: T, no pairings
“I’ll be fine,” Shouta says plainly. Because it’s not a choice. Because he has to be fine; there is no other option except fine. He’s a pro hero, and a teacher. He can’t stop, not for a second. One second is all a villain needs. Or: Aizawa, after USJ.
To Adapt and Overcome by @eyesoffthemaud: G, no pairings
In which, Aizawa doesn’t understand the praise that Toshinori gives Izuku. Aka Bee's 10 prompt! "Seeking validation in adult figures like teachers, and them knowing."
Daze by @kakashifan9: T, Hizashi/Shouta
Hizashi finds Shouta sitting outside of his apartment in the middle of the night, shaken from his hero work. He tries his best to comfort his friend.
Full Circle by paranoid_fridge: T, Shouta/Toshinori
The television is the only thing lighting up the cramped, windowless room. Broken furniture, plastic bags, old newspapers and empty bottles litter the stained carpet, barely leaving space to walk. On the screen, All Might beams at the camera, carrying two battered children from a burning building. In another part of the same town, the image reflects off a boy’s glazed eyes. He lies crumbled before the aged television set, easy to overlook in the mess. Blood soaks into the carpet underneath the shallowly breathing body; one more stain to join the others. There is traumatic memory influencing Aizawa Shouta's perception of All Might, and the USJ incident actually ends up helping him move past it.
thoughts before their prime by duckmoles: T, no pairings
First thing you learn about being a hero - your body is not your own. (Or, Aizawa's first year as a hero.)
"What are you going to do? Arrest me?" by orphan_account: T, no pairings
Aizawa Shouta had always been told that based on his background, terrible personality, and evil quirk, he would probably end up as a villain. They weren’t exactly wrong, although Shouta had gotten a pro hero license and climbed the underground hero rank. He was used to being called a villain. He just didn’t expect to be treated like one. AKA 5 times Aizawa Shouta was arrested and 1 time he wasn't
System Compromised by @squirrelwriter: T, no pairings
Aizawa gets less than an hour of sleep before he has to get up. It's terrible. It's disgusting. Fuck patrols that run overtime. Fuck the crime ring he's been tracking down. Fuck them with a rusty hammer. It's fine. He has a system for days like this.
Fate Is Half a Mistress But the Rest of Her's a Passenger by @certifiedwerewolf: T, Shouta/Toshinori
In an effort to get Mr. Aizawa to lay off, the kids decide to get him laid. With All Might. The teachers find out, and decide that's actually a great idea. And if one more person asks Midoriya to help them meddle, he's going to scream.
Wishful Thinking by @with-whimsical-whispers: G, Hizashi/Shouta
Most professional Heroes keep their personal relationships quiet, for privacy and safety. Everyone who has ever seen Eraserhead and Present Mic together know they’re one such couple. If only someone would tell them so they’d stop pining over each other…

Not to vague about something here, but wow, there are a million different reasons for telling stories. Why are popular tumblr blogs/posts acting like the only reason is self-projection? Um, no???
This also might explain why some people get so fucking caught up in storylines and ships and get pissed if it doesn’t go their way. Sorry, you’re not the story, you are in fact separate from the story, and it is okay for things to happen that you don’t agree with.

It Takes A Village by @bougiebutchbitch was a Guardians of The Galaxy AU I read recently. It's set some time after the fight with Ego and in this fic, Yondu survived. Now, he, Kraglin, and the Guardians are sharing the Quadrant and working together.
This story is more or less about Gamora who, after some ill-thought-out sex, is pregnant with Peter's child. When she falls pregnant is right before Peter and Kraglin leave to go do job. Understandably, Gamora is very uncertain about having a child given the lifestyle she and the others live.
She decides shortly after realizing she's pregnant she needs to go get abortive herbs. When she decides on this course, she ends up bringing along Yondu who has been chaffing pretty hard under Kraglin's need to keep him safe on their ship and away from danger after almost losing him.
When Yondu realizes she's pregnant, he listens to her concerns and basically tells her there's never going to be a good time and, if she does want a kid with Peter, she may as well do it now. Gamora doesn't listen to him at the time which leads to events later in the fic that have things resolve on a more or less happy note for her and Peter's unborn child.
What I liked a lot was that in this story the characters felt very much themselves. Gamora does her thing initially without thinking of the others, what they (Peter) might want, but does in the end realize her mistake and goes to some pretty extreme lengths to fix it. Yondu is crass at times and respects Gamora's choices even if he doesn't agree with them and is willing to keep secrets from Peter for her.
It was a funny, angsty, found-family kind of story and I was compelled throughout to see how Gamora's situation was resolved.

Shout out to writers who can’t do plots, who write about feelings and moments in time instead. I love reading those fics, and I love writing those fics. Keep on peering into the depths of characters’ hearts and souls in the little moments. You’re exploring the places where canon often fears to tread.

hello there! for your ask meme, do you happen to have any Luna Lovegood or Neville Longbottom-centric fic recs?
Hi, thanks for the ask and the follow!
I’ve only stumbled upon two Neville-centric fics, but I thought they were pretty well written and interesting.
Standing Up, by @isidar-mithrim  (4k, one-shot) . Focused on McGonagall and Neville during the seventh book (told from her point of view, though). I read it at a very busy time, but liked it so much that I have it on my ‘To comment’ list.
Behind Doors and Masks, by dragonwriter24cmf (78k, incomplete). Focused on Neville and Snape this time, but also during the seventh book. I feel bad for recommending this one, as it hasn’t been updated in years, but I really like what it’s posted so far and, who knows, the author might come back someday.
I can’t think of any Luna-centric fics, sorry. One that is really interesting and still ongoing is Improbable Foundations, by Imagination94, and, though Neville also shows up from time to time, he’s not a main character as far as I remember. It’s post-HP series, focused on Snape and Harry, but maybe Luna also shows up? I’m still halfway through, so I don’t know.
Has anyone got any other recs focused on Neville or Luna?
Send me a fandom/pairing/character and I’ll rec my favourite fic(s) for it.
