Sunshine Gareth with a Grumpy Partner Things
The façade slowly crumbles with every bright smile and sugar sweet words.
🥒 At the diner when you specifically asked for no pickles on your burger only for it to arrive with a suspicious amount of pickles. He notices the drop of your face and roll of your eyes as you lift the bun. Gareth is immediately reaching over the table grabbing the small pile his fingers getting coated in ketchup in the process. Peering up your met with a wide grin “They must have known I like pickles.” The frown is struggling to remain as the butterflies in your stomachs travel to your chest that begins to flutter. “I guess it was your lucky day” His green eyes twinkle as he peers at you with a soft smile. “Yeah I am lucky”
🥒 At the park watching his sister play when a quacking fills your ears. A family of ducks approaching directly towards you and Gareth and you sat sharing a bag of chips.
“Go away!”
“Aww you want a chip?”
The words leave your mouth at the same time as your heads to turn. Garett’s eyes are wide “Do you want me to make them leave…I will!”
The chip was already in the air to throw. The excitement slowly started to leave the soft details of his face.
“You can give them some chips..we won’t eat the entire bag anyway!”
The smile was so big his eyes squinted closed as he grabbed a handful of chips and tossed them to the birds. “Enjoy!” The crunching of chips filled your ears as the ducks feasted only to be silenced by Garett’s laugh. The smile grew on your lips until they parted your laugh matching with his.
🥒 At the mall that’s full of loud people with a lack of awareness that we’re slowly getting on your nerves. When a group of teens passed your eyes rolled on instinct. It was all overwhelming and all you could do to manage was get angry until Garett’s hand wrapped around yours tightly pulling you close. “I’m sorry… I didn’t know it was going to be this busy. Just a little longer I promise” The rough patch of his thumb rubbing on your knuckles was soothing enough for you to bare it all a little longer.
“Here!!” before you could see what here was you were being pulled along until you were in a dimly lit store filled with black, leather, and chains. “This is the only good store here!” You watched as Gareth wondered the store eyes widening whenever something caught them. Watching him carefully your heart warmed as his hands grew full “Here let me help you” his cheeks turned red as you began taking stuff from his hands. The items looked familiar red flannel, pins of bands, patches. Glancing up they were all in front of you already on Gareth. “Why are you buying stuff you already have?”
His cheeks brightened as he fumbled over his words letting out a huff “Because…..I wanted us to match…. is that stupid?” Out of character you smile wide and place a soft kiss at the corner of his lips. “It’s not stupid at all”
As you turn away you can’t tell why your checks are so warm and your heart is beating so fast. Maybe its okay to like some things

Hellfire Holidays
Merry late Christmas if you celebrate the holiday! I always seem to post the holiday themed writing late lol I am settled in my personal life so I will be writing more now. I have missed it a lot 🥺
Eddie Munson
🔥Christmas inflation has hit the drug sales! Eddie gives no discounts or deals during the holiday season. He needs the money to buy Wayne Christmas gifts.
🔥Eddie gets all the Hellfire club members new D&D dice (even Erica) he sees a glittery set of pink dice and thinks of her 🥺
🔥Eddie never knows what to buy Wayne for Christmas. He never wants anything except Eddie to be safe. So Eddie gets him a new hat and mug every year (it’s become some what of a tradition) Wayne must like them since they’re displayed all around the trailer!
🔥Eddie also gets him new work boots and clothes. The nice kind that cost a lot and last a long time. Wayne always protest that he can’t accept the gifts.
“I know these are expensive boy. I don’t want you spending your money on me mine are just fine….take em back and get your money back”
“That’s too much work plus I lost the receipt so just keep em old man”
🔥He buys gifts for Max and leaves them on her front porch with a scribbled tag that says For Red. The gift contains various cassettes and a fluffy blanket (the trailers get cold in the winter) and When Max pulls out a Metallica cassette she can’t help but smile “That freak”
🔥Eddie hated Christmas as a kid his only family was Wayne and they were poor and kid Eddie didn't understand. So Wayne would take him to see Christmas lights and meet Santa, and attempt to decorate the trailer.
🔥Every holiday since Wayne wraps the trailer in glowing Christmas lights making it stand out in the dark trailer park.
🔥Wayne also made a tradition that on Christmas Eve Eddie could stay up as late as possible and watch the Christmas movies on TV while eating cookies and waiting for Santa. Little Eddie would always crash on the couch resting on Wayne's shoulder. Wayne would carry him to bed and tuck him under the blankets before placing the presents under their small tree.
🔥They still do this tradition but Eddie stays awake much longer and no longer believes in Santa so when midnight hits Eddie will run to his room and get the gifts for Wayne to open “It’s technically Christmas!”
Gareth Emerson
🔥Gets dark red dice with silver numbers from Eddie for Christmas Gareth feels bad so he runs to the vending machine and gets him a candy bar and a soda.
🔥Every year his mom makes him and his sister wear matching outfits and take pictures together at the mall. They are awkward and Gareth doesn't smile until his mom yells at him to.
🔥His mom bribes him with $20 to not tell his sister that Santa’s not real and if he does she will beat him (said jokingly…..maybe) Gareth wasn't gonna tell his sister that anyway but still takes the money and uses it to but his sister a Christmas gift
🔥Gareth gets his a mini red flannel, markers and coloring books, and a bracelet making kit (yes she makes him a bracelet and yes he wears it everyday 🙄)
🔥Gareth gets a bunch of photos of him and his sister and puts them in a scrapbook. Writing down his commentary on the pages. He’s really nervous when she opens it (he spent all his money on his sister’s gifts)
🔥His mom cries when she looks through the pages and grabs Gareth in a hug squeezing him tight “Oh Gare-bear you’re so sweet such a good boy!” “Mom please!”
🔥He’s secretly a sucker for Christmas sweaters! They’re so soft and cozy but he only wears them at home while watching movies with his family or laying in his bed cuddled up with his stuffie that his sister got for him…..so he can’t get rid of it! (that’s what he says anyway)
🔥He stays up late and stars out the window when it snow he thinks the falling snow is mesmerizing. The next morning he makes snow angels and has a snowball fight with his sister (he really adores her even though he would never admit it 🥺)
🔥Jeff makes him a bear plushie!
Dustin Henderson
🔥He gets dark green dice with silver numbers from Eddie for Christmas. Dustin gives him his old copy of the Never Ending Story soundtrack.
🔥The second it gets cold his mom is pulling out the scarves and gloves making him layer up until he’s sweating.
“Mom it’s not that cold!”
“Dustybun! Yes it is, you’ll get sick. I still remember how miserable you were last year after getting the flu. My poor baby!”
He takes off all the layers when he gets on the bus (yes he does get sick🙄 )
🔥Has been getting gifts for months to make Suzie a Christmas box! It’s full of candy, fantasy books, a blanket, and one of his hats and a bunch of other nerd stuff lol
🔥Always makes his mom a Christmas gift (because she loves it) and it is the only type of gift she will accept.
Every Christmas Eve him and his mom eat cheese and crackers while drinking sparkling cider and watch game shows. His mom is so proud when he gets all the questions right!
🔥Jeff makes him a lion plushie
Mike Wheeler
🔥Mike gets yellow and purple dice with gold letters from Eddie
🔥Mike is an absolute Grinch!! He hates Christmas all the cheer annoys him. He always complains when his mom ask him to help decorate or go to festivities
🔥Only gets a gift for Eleven and spends hours at the mall trying to pick something. Makes Lucas and Dustin go with him (Max refused) he ends up getting her some scrunchies, markers, a teddy bear, and a Hawkins t-shirt to remind her of home.
🔥On Christmas morning he refuses to get up early so everyone has to wait to open gifts. He doesn’t really show any expression when opening gifts just gives a “thanks”
🔥He hates the snow and gets cold easily but still only wears a jacket because he thinks he’s too cool to wear a coat.
🔥Jeff makes him a mouse plushie
Erica Sinclair
🔥Gets pink glittery dice from Eddie and gifts from all the other Hellfire members. It’s all cute and nerdy stuff! She is the Hellfire Club baby but no one says it because the one time Gareth did she had to be held back by Dustin
🔥Erica likes Christmas because all of the gifts and money she get’s. She is a material girl! But she will not be getting gifts for anyone else she’s Erica she doesn't have to 😌💅
🔥I'm torn between the idea that she still believes in Santa or when she is taken to meet Santa she says something like
“Who is this man! I know he’s not Santa! He’s not real” all the other kids in the line gasp in horror
“Erica!”
“What it’s just the facts”
🔥She is very honest about gifts if she doesn’t like it you will know
🔥Has an American Flag Christmas sweater where the stars are snowflakes instead (something like that) because Christmas is the peak of capitalism and she loves it!!
🔥Jeff makes her a bunny plushie!
Lucas Sinclair
🔥Eddie gives him gold dice with white numbers for Christmas. Lucas gives him a Hawkins Jersey “What the hell is this Sinclair?”
🔥Tries to convince Erica that Santa is real because he sees her as a kid “Only nerds think Santa is real”
🔥Gives Max the basketball he first scored a goal with, a new cassette player, and sneakers because he knows that hers get worn out quickly from skating and walking everywhere.
🔥Send will a letter updating him on everything and painting supplies for Christmas asking for him to send back a painting.
🔥He and Dustin have snow ball fights and Erica watches them from the window before knocking on it. “What is she saying?” Erica rolls her eyes and holds up an L before closing the curtains.
🔥Loves Christmas movies and popcorn! Invites Max to come watch one every Friday even though she always declines.
🔥Jeff makes him a tiger plushie
Jeff
🔥Gets light blue dice with silver numbers from Eddie for Christmas. He gives Eddie a handmade bat plush, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and lemon bars for Wayne.
🔥Definitely knows how to sew and makes each of the members their own plushies. They are different animals.
🔥He loves Christmas and the winter. It’s cold which gives him an excuse to stay inside and bake all day. Gifting the sweets for people around him!
🔥He proudly wears Christmas sweaters and is the person to wear a Santa hat all day on Christmas. Insisting people fill a plate and make another one to go.
Adam (Freak 1)
🔥Gets black dice with silver numbers from Eddie. He gives Eddie the new Metallica CD (he wants to impress Eddie so bad lol)
🔥He loves the Holidays because he gets to spend time with family and loved ones. He is a very sentimental guy and loves being close to those around him.
🔥I get the vibes he is half Jewish. He tells the members about Hannukah and how they celebrate it. They are all very respectful!!
🔥Jeff makes him a shark plushie!

Hellfire Halloween
I forgot to post this yesterday oops! Just some headcanons of the different members enjoy!
Eddie
🔥Writes a one-shot D&D campaign the Friday before Halloween. It’s filled with ghosts, monsters, and maybe even a vampire….and yes costumes are required
🔥Eddie dresses up like Ozzy Osbourne and gets annoyed when no one gets it. “Why are you carrying around a bat?” “Are you seriously asking me that Henderson!? I thought I taught you better!”
🔥Forces Dustin to go trick or treating so he can have some of the candy “Eddie I’m in high school now I-” “Shut up Henderson and just go”
🔥Wayne makes him sit on the porch and pass out candy to the trailer park kids. He secretly loves it and compliments all the costumes. When a young girl dresses as a princess walks up Eddie bows dramatically “For you my lady” dropping a handful of candy into the giggling girls' basket.
🔥When some of the basketball players stop by his doorstep for Halloween drugs Eddie tells them to “Get lost there are kids around” while throwing candy at them.
🔥When the kids start coming by Eddie goes inside and joins Wayne on the couch watching some scary movie on the TV. Eddie holds out the almost empty bowl of candy to Wayne “Nah you're a good boy 🔥you have the rest”
Eddie falls asleep on the couch with a bowl full of candy wrappers and Wayne just laughs draping a spare blanket over him. “Scariest night of the year and you look like a big baby”
Favorite Candy: Hershey’s
Favorite Scary Movie: Young Frankenstein
Gareth
🔥Gareth loves Halloween! The colder weather gives him an excuse to layer up! Scary movies on the tv all the time. And his mom is constantly baking!
🔥Everyone makes fun of his costume! He complains because his mom wouldn't let him get a scary one. “What if it traumatizes your sister Gare?!”
🔥He ends up being a knight because his sister picked out a pretty princess costume and begged her big brother to match. Gareth pretends to be annoyed but secretly would do anything for his sister.
🔥He carries her on his back when her legs get tired and holds her basket full of candy as they make the way back home.
🔥When they get home Gareth dumps out the candy to “go through” for his share! But it's secretly an excuse to check her candy and make sure she wasn't given anything sketchy. There are some freaks in Hawkins!!
🔥Stays up all night watching cartoon Halloween movies with his sister on the couch sharing candy until she falls asleep and Gareth follows. When his mom comes down to check on her kids she gasps and takes a picture of the rare moment. It's printed and hung on the fridge by the next week!
Favorite Candy: Sour Gummy Worms
Favorite Scary Movie: Halloween
Dustin
🔥His mom makes goodie bags for Hellfire Club. They are little pumpkin bags filled with candy for “All the growing boys!”
🔥Dustin loves Halloween but starts to feel conflicted now that he is in high school if he should go trick r treating and dress up.
🔥Calls Suzie late on Halloween night to tell her about all the different candies he got. They stay on the phone watching a Halloween movie ‘together’. Not too scary though because Suzie doesn't like scary movies.
🔥Ask his mom to make him a Frodo costume! Eddie is so proud of his boy wearing the costume he makes someone take a picture.
🔥He picks out all the really good candy and full-size bars and lets his mom go through the candy before he lets Eddie get his share
Favorite Candy: 3 Musketeers
Favorite Scary Movie: Psycho
Mike
🔥Doesn't dress up because he ‘forgot’ mainly because he was lazy and didn't want to. When the other members ask him what his costume is (his everyday look) he just says “Oh I’m a……loser!”
🔥Thinks he’s too cool for Halloween now. Doesn't go trick or treating with Holly or Dustin he just sits at home and watches tv….not even scary movies!!
Favorite Candy: Twizzlers
Favorite Scary Movie: Alien
Lucas
🔥Dresses up as a famous basketball player and all the members get annoyed because they thought he didn't dress up “Sinclair! I said costumes were required!”
🔥His mom forces him to go trick-or-treating with Erica. He stands back and complains the entire time. Mainly because when he gets too close Erica and all her friends start making fun of him
Favorite Candy: Skittles
Favorite Scary Movie: Halloween (its Max’s favorite)
Erica
🔥Loves Halloween! Candy? And all she has to do is knock on some doors…..she’s in!
🔥Erica is the reason they didn't do the Halloween campaign on Halloween night. Erica has to go trick or treating and stay the night at Tina's. They need Lady Applejack to save the day!
🔥Definitely, the one to suggest a candy trade-off when they get to Tina “I’ll give you these M&M's for 3 suckers…..What do you mean of course it’s a good deal!”
🔥Dresses up as a My Little Pony character while making fun of Lucas’s costume
Favorite Candy: Lollipops especially cotton candy and cherry-flavored ones
Favorite Scary Movies: Erica doesn't do scary moves
Jeff
🔥Does not like scary movies or anything scary at all! You thought Eddie got scared easily? Nope, Jeff is the biggest scardey cat of the Hellfire members. Poor guy just wants it to b Thanksgiving so he can cook
🔥He dresses up as a cat or something basic for Halloween. None of the members question it (they have Gareth to make fun of)
🔥Definitely complains about having a tummy ache when he eats too much candy
Favorite Candy: Paydays
Favorite Scary Movie: Does It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown count?
Freak 1
🔥I feel like he would dress up as a pro wrestler or try to dress up as Eddie as a joke and makes Eddie mad
🔥Stays inside and watches scary movies all night on Halloween he just leaves a bowl of candy on the porch
🔥 He invites Jeff over to watch movies and laughs every time Jeff gets scared which is basically the entire time.
Favorite Candy: Snickers
