I had a dream
about our chalkboard bodies
dancing in circles
on the sides of oceans
building towers
living in pentagrams
at the mercy and blessing of the earth
gradually tiring and giving in to entropy
little neurons spinning
coalitions of atoms
holding together the human canvas
are we the vehicles of another power
an arena built, stars as the audience
watching our pain
dragging the chains of hierarchy
I saw
mere ants
distracted by the lull of the social
the fixation impregnable
a cry for static
cardinal white noise of different tones
biting and distracting
beaming the language of nations;
a broadcast of apathy
asphodel haze draped over each word
how is it normal to suddenly break
normal to flicker
normal to depart
inside some cyclical rebirth
spiraling down the depths
to the first
the origin
the Great Spark
a bang or a pinprick
I got a glimpse
of the pulse of life
a rotational peace
manic waves
the dizzying highs of annoyance
the bubbling lows of resentment
losing myself, melting into your arms
falling into each other endlessly
plummeting to the hum
like dandelions twisting against the vortex
simultaneously sinking and flying
drowned and dazed
over and over
