I’VE BEEN SAYING THIS!!!! 🗣️ at some point people started using “fanon” as an exclusively bad term and it’s all been downhill from there-

does anyone else feel like most of the fandom community cares way more about what’s cannon than they need to?? I feel like that’s a really easy way to get yourself disappointed, yk? like isn’t the point of fandom to focus more on the characters instead of the cannon plot? why does wether it’s cannon or not always need to be brought up?

Like especially if you ship primarily queer ships, at a certain point, (no shade but esp if it’s anime) aren’t you kinda setting yourself up for failure? I’m not saying queer ships don’t deserve to be represented but, like, why does what’s cannon matter so much to you??
