“Mary Prays The Rosary For My Broken Mind” (An AHS Apocalypse Fanfic) Part 3: Michael Langdon x Fem!OC

Primrose bolted up, feeling self-conscious as Wilhelmina Venable and Ms. Mead entered Michael’s bedroom abruptly without knocking. She pulled the sheets higher so they covered her chest more.

“Ladies, I’m a little bit busy right now… formulating my selections.” Michael said, typing methodically on his laptop.

“This wont take long. I see you have… company.” Venable said smugly.

Michael sighed with irritation, and closed his computer, turning in his chair to face the two women. “What’s this?” Langdon said, calmly disinterested.

Primrose shifted on the bed, sensing an awkward tension in the air. Finally, Ms. Venable spoke. “We’re making the selections now, Mr. Langdon.” She paused. “And I’m afraid you didn’t make the cut.”

Michael laughed mockingly. “I’m sorry. I wanted to let you have your moment but I just couldn’t hold it in.”

“You think this is funny?” Venable said, taken aback. “You might be interested to know that while you and Primrose were no doubt… indulging in carnal pleasure, the rest of the occupants of Outpost Three met an untimely end due to some poison in the fruit we were serving.”

Primrose’s eyes widened with horror. “E-Emily..” She whispered. Wilhelmina nodded, savoring Prim’s expression.

Michael grinned, clearly amused. “I think I’m impressed, Ms. Venable.” He said sarcastically. “I wasn’t sure you had it in you. You’ve passed the test. You’re perfect for The Sanctuary.”

“Ms. Mead?” Venable addressed her companion. Miriam Mead pulled out a gun.

Primrose backed against the headboard of the bed in fear. ‘They killed Emily. Now they’re here to kill me.’ She thought grimly.

“I wouldn’t do that,” Michael warned, tilting his head back, a challenging gesture.

Much to Prim’s surprise, Ms. Mead pointed the gun at Langdon. Michael met Miriam’s gaze directly, his expression softening a bit. Her gun-wielding hand began shaking.

“Ms. Mead.” Wilhelmina said again. Her urgency became apparent.

Primrose watched in shock as slowly but surely Ms. Mead moved the gun to aim in the direction of Venable.

BANG.

Venable gasped as the bullet plunged into her heart. Betrayal was written in every shadow on her face. Then she dropped to the floor, lifeless. Michael smiled.

“I don’t know why I d-did that.” Ms. Miriam Mead’s voice came out weakly and tears welled up in her glassy eyes. “I was always loyal to her.”

“It’s alright.” Michael stated, crouching down next to Venable, triumphant. “You were obeying commands, like you’re programmed to do.” He paused. “My commands.” Langdon got up again, approaching Mead. “Did you enjoy executing the poison apples plan as much as I enjoyed coming up with it?”

“You wanted all these people dead?” Miriam said, trembling more violently.

“I’ve never been a fan of getting my hands dirty.” Michael remarked. “Learned that from my Father.”

Primrose buried her face in the sheets, progressing past shock into a state of grief. She started crying uncontrollably.

Michael noticed this, and sat on the edge of the bed next to Prim. “Always more fun to entice men and women to dirty deeds…” He said softly, pulling the crying girl close to his chest and running his fingers through her long hair. “Confirms what I’ve always believed.” He continued.

“Wh-What do you believe?” Miriam asked, frightened.

“That all people, even Primrose here…” He said, lifting Prim’s chin with his hand so her tearful gaze met his. “-If given the right pressures or stimulus, are evil.”

“I’m having trouble with this!” Ms. Mead cried, shaking her head.

Primrose felt she should want to pull away from Michael’s touch, but for some reason she didn’t. The very man… no. The very devil who had organized her friend Emily’s death, and she could only look to him to comfort her and wipe away her tears. The dark irony overwhelmed her heart and soul.

“I know I’m just a machine–” Miriam continued.

“–Never say that!” Michael said, suddenly impassioned. He turned abruptly to face Ms. Mead. “You’re not just a machine. Not to me. When I asked the Cooperative’s R & D department to construct you, I gave them a prototype to model… of someone I held very dear. Someone from my childhood.”

Primrose watched Michael get up from the bed, walking toward Ms. Miriam Mead.

“A prototype?” Mead repeated.

“Yes. Of a woman I considered to be the closest thing I had to a mother.” Michael answered. A light filled his eyes that Primrose was surprised to see.

“The beautiful boy!” Miriam said, something seeming to register in her brain.

“That was me.” Langdon replied. “But I had to keep the most important parts of you hidden from your mind. I did this to protect you, and to protect the plan. But now its time to remember it all…” Tears streamed from his eyes. “I lost you and I couldn’t bear it. I can’t imagine a new world without you by my side…” He turned to Primrose. “Both of you.”

“Hail Satan…” Ms. Mead exclaimed, her eyes shining with adoration.

“When I was a little girl, I used to cry tears for the devil,” Primrose said suddenly. “I thought that if I prayed and repented for Lucifer that God would forgive him and everything would be right again.”

“You wanted to save me?” Michael said, cocking his head to the side.

“Yes…” Primrose blushed.

“Has anything changed since then?” He asked, smirking.

“I’m not stupid enough to think that the God I worshipped is merciful anymore. I have never witnessed his salvation. The only salvation I have truly experienced is in your touch.” Prim elaborated. “Hail… Satan.” She said, with a certainty she didn’t know she possessed.

Michael and Ms. Mead’s gaze rested on Primrose with a kind of wicked pride. “With you two women, I will rule this new world.” Michael assured them. “We will bring a darkness upon earth that will consume everything.”
