Airpods Save Lives
Demetri Pov
"The meat smells divine today" Felix practically hums out. Whenever the tours came it gave us some kind of excitement. Not that any of us would admit it, we were all so bored. I in a way admired Felix's ability to make excitement from anything even though it could be immature at times. Alec and Jane kept themselves preoccupied in ways that I could tolerate but took years to stomach. I on the otherhand kept myself satisfied with the best thing the world has to offer..women. But even that lately has not had the same effect it usually has for me.
"Hmm" I merely acknowledged until I stopped in my tracks when I smelled the group that was coming. It did smell divine but not how the tours usually smell.
This was different.
It was also extremely overpowering. I wanted to search for and ravish whoever the smell belonged to. Fresh oranges, sweet wine, lavender and ink.
"You can tell someone from this group is rather tasty can't you" Could Felix smell it? Did he feel as I did at this moment? The craving of something unknown. But we were about to find out as the group entered the hall. Me and Felix moved to the side by the assistants desk. The group strolled in with Heidi at the front as usual.
"Demetri" She said sultry trying to get my attention as I didn't even spare her glance worth while. I scanned the group it felt like it went on forever of unwanted faces until my eyes found her.
It was her scent. She wore a orange scented perfume, she just had a glass of wine for lunch, her floral flowy dress was lavender scented from cleaning and she had small smudges of ink on her almost spotless delicate hands.
It all made her so intoxicating.
She was stunning. With her long, slightly wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, and a curvy hourglass figure that was complemented by her slender frame.
"Now she's a tasty little thing" Felix said a little too loud that she had to have heard it but her expression did not change from the somewhat bored one she had. I realized she wasn't in awe nor had the enthusiastic interest that everyone else in the tour group had by Heidi's power of persuasion. Then I watched as her eyes darted to something in the side hallway making her leave the group.
"Well thats rare" Felix somewhat interested in the human making a move in her direction before my arm shot up.
"I got it, I'll meet you in the throne room" Without looking at him I make my way towards her.
I watch her as she is analyzing or I should say scrutinizing the Portrait of a Young Man painting. It wasn't my favorite painting of Raphael's but I didn't think it deserved the amount of scrutiny she was giving it. Her nose scrunched, the lines on her forehead and her eyes almost closed by how hard she was trying to see the even smallest details of the painting.
"Give peace a chance..Let the fear you have fall away" I jumped slightly at the sudden angelic melodic voice that came from her as she stepped back trying to look at it from a different angle. Her hands rested at her bag that laid on her hip preparing to open it. I faked a cough to make my presence known but she did not turn to me as she took her phone out from her purse. I moved towards her quickly taking her phone from her before she was able to take a picture.
"Umm excuse me" She said in a sweet surprised voice as she turned to me. If I had a breath it would have stopped as I looked into her eyes.
They were so blue they reminded me of the Aegean Sea.
They reminded me of a home I once knew and I thought long forgotten.
"What's wrong with your eyes?" She said gently grabbing her phone from my hand. My eyes looked like hers once I think. Now they're not as pretty.
"It's a medical condition...you shouldn't have left the group" She placed her hair behind her ear showing a white plug in it. She took it out.
"Is this real?" She pointed to the painting. She hasn't broken eye contact from me nor my eyes from her. This was quite an anomaly for me.
"Yes what makes you question the authenticity?"I say amused by this creature. I usually take human girls in the privacy of dark corners and be done with it. But her...I wanted to make this last.
"Well for one it's been lost for almost a hundred years, this is a Raphael painting correct?" She says trying to be polite but about to burst from this discovery she found.
"Correct, artist are you?" I said conversational but she precedes to put the plug back in her ear. She turns from me much to my displeasure as I watched her hips start to sway away from me.
"Architect major with an art history minor" She said walking in the opposite direction of where she should be going but stopping in her tracks almost immediately at the next painting. She does the same act as the last much to my amusement. She starts huffing in and out analyzing every detail of the Nativity with St. Francis and St. Lawrence. I make my way over to her. My shoulder an inch from hers as I stood facing the painting as she did. She gives me a side eye understanding I wasn't going to leave her. She goes to her ear pressing on the plugs.
"Is this a replica?" She says now finally suspicious of her surroundings if she wasnt before.
"They're all real...love" I stare down at her as she comes closer to me. Every fiber of my being was restraining myself from ending this. I wanted to relish this, savoring it like one does a fine wine.
"Are you in the mafia?" She whispers and I laugh heartily at the question.
"Now what would give you that idea?" I say coyly as I lean closer to her, my eyes landing on her slender neck. Her pretty little neck.
"Because this painting was supposedly stolen by the mafia" She said matter a factly moving from me realizing how close I was to her. I clenched my jaw at the distance between us. I wanted us closer. I had the feeling even if I skin to skin with her wouldn't be close enough for me. But she seemed absolutely uninterested in me, enamored with what was around her.
"Violet, blue, green, red to keep me at arm's length don't work..You try to push me out..But I just find my way back in...Violet, blue, green, red to keep me out...I win" She gives a mumbled hum of the words not fully singing them out knowing that I'm there close behind. She accepts that fact along with that all the paintings she sees are real. She doesn't analyze them viciously like she did before. Now just taking them in like they should be. But I am analyzing every detail of her. The flutter of her eyelashes, the curve of her hip and the way her hair bounces as she walks. She turns her head to me behind her, giving me an excellence view of her perfectly structured jawline.
"Are you art thieves?" She says innocently genuinely curious. I chuckle at her guess. I look at her ear looking at the plug realizing sound was coming from them.
"What are those things?" She looked at me confused. I lift my hand slowly towards her tapping the back of my finger lightly against one of the plugs.
"Oh..they're airpods" She looked at me like it was the most obvious thing in the world and I had absolutely no idea "they're like earplugs or headphones." I mouthed a little "oh" as she let out a little giggle at my ignorance.
"I'll have to warn Heidi about those" I say more to myself as me and her walked side by side down the hall, further and further away from the throne room. We're getting close to a intersection, one hall leads to a cellar and the other leads to an exit. Decisions...Decisions.
"Was Heidi the lady in charge of the tour?" I simply nod while I think of the fact this girls life is in my hands. Do I truly want to snuff out the sun? I'm quite thoughtful about the decision as I firmly placed my hands behind my back.
"She's kinda an airhead isn't she?" I whip my head towards her uncontrollably crackling at her statement.
"Heidi?" I say absolutely bewildered by the statement. I don't think Heidi has ever been described as an airhead?
"Well I know that is kinda mean. I really am not into girl shaming but..she has all this to show"She twirled around then kept walking "and she said a lot of words with really nothing of substance behind them. I did listen a little to her in and out...I don't know I preferred music over her" My hands tighten behind my back as I stare at her. Her hair when she spun I got a delightful whiff of her shampoo.Citrus. Fresh oranges. Her blood would taste so sweet.
"Like this castle has to be from the 12th century-" She looked at me curiously as I stared at her clavicle. That would be a wonderful place to take a first bite.
"11th" I muttered out. We made it to the intersection, cellar for a drink or exit for her life.
"Oh" She tilted her head up to the ceiling an spun slowly on her heel around "I can picture that..there is some roman designs" She smiled to herself. Her eyes sparkled. It's funny I lived in this castle going on a thousand years and always found it a dull place mostly except when we used to have parties. But in one day she saw the beauty in it.
"Are you a lover of Artemisia Gentileschi?" I asked as she was about to turn down the hallway to the cellar, stopped to look at me.
"Yes...why?" She smirked cutely. I smile at her for giving me that answer. I take her hand in mine and lead her through the hallway with the exit.
"Hey how do I know you're not taking me in some dark room to have your way with me" She said half jokingly. I just smirk to myself. She would be so delicious but for some reason it seems like it would be a waste. It wouldn't even be a minute before her life would be gone and she would be gone. Her beauty, her smile, her voice..everything about her I could just take in an instant if I chose to.
"Your hand is so cold" She did a little tug on it. I turn to her and say nothing. I stare in her eyes for a moment and she looks at me amused.
"So if I'm ever found alive and they ask me the name of the assailant, what should I tell them?" I winced as she dropped her hand from mine before the question. I wanted her to touch me.
"Demetri"I slowly drawl out "And when I see your face on the news what name will I see?"
"Nina" It almost came out as a whisper but I heard it. As I also could hear the screams start but she didn't seem to hear them.
"Here we are" I stop in front of our designated painting and she started to laugh at it. The Madonna and the child was one of our many Artemisia Gentileschi paintings but Jane had all of her famous ones on the other side of the castle that was where I didnt want her to be.
"Really out of her paintings this is the one you have?" She giggles as I just look down at my shoes like a boy. She does stop giggling to appreciate the painting eventually.
"She looks so tired" She says more to herself than to me. Then I really look at the painting myself to see what she means. I see it too in the mother's eyes. I never noticed that before probably never cared. I watch her as she looks over the painting really taking in ever detail of it.
"You should paint me it would last longer" I look down again with a smirk.
"Can I?" I say more flirting than serious. She turns to me blushing and my smirk deepens.
"What am I going to be your Rose to you Jack?" She leans closer to me making start to tense even though I was taken back by the reference. I need to brush up on current entertainment.
"Ahh-" I freeze as I can sense someone coming.
I look behind me seeing the reason why we're here..the exit.
I take her hand and hurry her to the door. We go down stairs and stairs. I have to be mindful of my speed seeing I had to keep a human one. Something came over me that I had to get her out that was my only thought at this moment.
"Where are we going?" But her question is answered when I open a door to the outside practically throwing her out. Then the sun light making me step back into the darkness.
"Wait" She places her hand on the door before I close it and I didn't want to hurt her.
"Will I see you again?" She almost whines out.
"Yes but don't come back here..meet me at the front of the clock tower at night fall...goodbye" I said it quickly as I slowly closing the door.
"Goodbye" I heard quietly right before the door closed. I regretted how it ended but there was reasoning behind the abrupt departing.
"Well this is quite unusual behavior...for you" Felix leaned against the wall at the top of the stairs.
"The girl didn't hear or see anything, no laws were broken" I say stiffly making my way past him.
"That may be but the why is what I'm curious about" he hanged his head over my shoulder mischievously. He wasn't going to let this go.
"It just felt like a waste" I shrug looking almost dazed not wanting to think what I had just done and the why.
"A waste...yes a waste of food. Bloody Demetri if you didn't want her you could've given her to me. But Im surprised why didnt you want her?"He was going to nag and nag until he got an answer to his liking.
"I wanted her...but it just felt as it would have been to quick" This was making me nervous. I haven't felt nervous since the incident with the Cullens. But this was a different kind of nervous, I was worried for her.
"Fine then I'll meet her later at the clock tower-" If on instinct I slammed Felix against the wall my hand around his throat.
"She's mine...I'll take care of it" I shove him back stalking away.
She was mine.
I hated to admit it but I knew it to be true.
She is my cantante.

WHEN I WAS YOUR MAN (A)
(PART TWO (A) OF THE OTHER WOMAN (“SO I CAN HAVE YOU BACK” SERIES))
⚠️WARNING⚠️: I mean… not really, maybe some violence because vampires need to eat and that… I guess sadness and long-ass descriptions also count?
A/N: I'm back, bitches... love you all. Will post other updates sooner than later, I promise... Also... are we starting to look at a "The Boy Is Mine" type of situation...?
PART 1 - PART 2 - PART 3 - PART 4
Same bed but it feels just a little bit bigger now Our song on the radio but it don't sound the same When our friends talk about you, all it does is just tear me down 'Cause my heart breaks a little when I hear your name
You could feel your lungs burning while you moved, the bodies around you were jumping and dancing like there was no tomorrow. You could hear their heartbeats and the way they smelled made you understand how horny they were. Fucking humans are so simple, so predictable. Every time you saw them you knew that they were thinking of money, sex, or anything related to greed and themselves. Maybe in the past, you would say that vampires were different, but after knowing love and realising that you would never have it, you understood that those simple emotions that humanity had were only amplified when someone turned into a vampire. So you had no hope whatsoever.
A couple of guys were eyeing you while they talked about themselves. You smiled in their direction while approaching them. You knew they were wishing to get one thing and one thing only… You also desired one thing, but that was totally different from what they wanted. Still, before you were able to approach them like you were planning to do you felt a hand grabbing your arm.
If it was a normal human you would be able to pull yourself free without any type of effort but as soon as you tried you noticed how the grab was as hard as iron, almost crushing your skin with rough but almost perfect fingers. You looked at your side and noticed how golden irises were looking at you.
“Who…?” You started to ask while looking at the brunette vampire with a confused expression on your face, red eyes trying to find any sign of recognition. You tried to ignore the fact that he looked quite shocked by your appearance. After all, you didn’t really know him so it wasn’t like it would matter in a few moments.
“Look, I know they are jerks and probably deserve a good punishment but you can’t do that…” He started while looking at you with worry in his eyes. Still, behind that worry, you could see the clear judgement of someone who believed to be better than you.
You smiled while looking at him with a condescending smile, “Well, I’m quite sure that whatever I was planning to do, isn’t really your business.”
Since it was clear that this being wasn’t a normal human, you decided to use your strength to pull your arm away from his grip. Thanks to the fact that you had started to drink human blood after a couple of months of leaving Clarisse, you were a bit stronger than the other vampire. Maybe not having your mate around was quite good for you, you lied to yourself like you didn’t whimper and sob into your pillow every morning and day while you pretended to sleep and pretended that knowing that he didn’t care about you didn’t hurt like hell.
“It is my business if the mate of my father is thinking of feeding by using some humans…” The brunette said while looking at you, grabbing your arm again and pulling you close so he could move you to a corner of the club.
“So you are Edward…” Now that you have been looking at him for a few seconds, it was quite evident. If you had to be honest, even at the beginning of your interaction with him, it wasn’t so hard to make the connections.
The other vampire talked about your mate, and when you were with Carlisle… when you thought that you weren’t a burden and something to be put on with, he talked about his children, about different details of them and how they were one of the best things in his life. Of course, since you heard that and you thought that he was going to introduce you at some point (spoiler alert, he didn’t), you made sure of learning everything. So every little detail of them, of their hobbies, of the things they liked or disliked, all of it was stored in a little part of your brain that at some point was dedicated to the idea of being like a parent figure for them. Of course, after a while of being told that it was too soon to be introduced to the children, that part of you started to crumble and die, just like your own hopes of being loved.
“How did you…?” Edward said but then winced while touching his head, looking quite surprised when he saw you.
“I guess you are asking yourself why can’t you read my mind…” You made a pause while noticing how he was confused by your words. “It’s useless, you won’t be able to do it… unless I want you to do it…” You explained while looking at the other vampire's eyes. At this point, you guessed you had to thank the world for your gift.
After all, you were like a mirror, and since there were different types of mirrors, your gift worked the same way, changing depending on what you wanted to do with the other vampire's special feature. Right now you were working like a normal mirror, making sure that Edward could only see his own thoughts if he tried to concentrate his gift on your mind. Going against the other vampire’s gift made you a little bit tired, especially since you didn’t have to do that when you were with Carlisle, but thanks to your new family, you were able to practice more with your gift and achieve that the tiresome feeling wouldn’t be too strong nor last too long.
“Didn’t your father teach you that you can’t do that? You need to respect people’s private matters…” You crossed your arms while looking at the brunette with a strong expression on your face. In return, Edward looked at you with confusion written all over his face.
“It isn’t like I can control it… it just happens…” He made a pause. “That doesn’t matter now… what matters is that you come with me” Edward looked almost like a man on a mission. Sadly, he was no man, and certainly, he wasn’t on a mission. If only he thought about how it made you feel, how hurtful and horrible it was to have him in front of you. To even think about how you could have met him a few months ago, to have a real relationship of friendship or even mentorship with him. After all, your gifts could work quite nicely together.
“Yeah, well… that won’t happen, kiddo…” You let out a sigh, even if you didn’t need to breathe, it just… helped you feel more centred, calm and alert. You wanted to be alert, and pay attention to everything. After all, even if you knew that you were stronger than Edward, you had no idea of what was he going to do just so he could take you with him. “I can’t really go with the Cullens now, after all… a Volturi won’t leave the guard unless is absolutely necessary… and a social visit isn’t what our kings could consider important.”
It all just sounds like ooh, ooh, ooh, hoo Mm, too young, too dumb to realize That I should have bought you flowers And held your hand Should have gave you all my hours When I had the chance Take you to every party 'cause all you wanted to do was dance Now my baby's dancing But she's dancing with another man
How could you explain this? It wasn’t like someone was going to ask you questions about your motives but still, how?
When you arrived at the Volturi castle, you didn’t expect the welcoming feeling that filled your chest. After all, you’d never been there before, so it didn’t make any sense for you to feel something like family or anything similar. Still, it did. It was almost like you were meant to be there. It almost felt like being in this castle and meeting the vampires inside was something that you were born to do at some point. It was confusing and unexpected, but you weren’t against it. God knew -if there was a God somewhere since unlike Carlisle and most of his family, the idea of God and the whole omnipresence of him wasn’t so obvious to you- that you needed the warm feeling that was surrounding you at that moment.
In the most normal pace you could follow, avoiding standing out from all the humans around you, you walked inside the castle with the rest of the tourists that were going to be part of the tour that always ended up in a nice meal. Of course, they didn’t know that they were the meal but, you couldn’t bring yourself to be sorry for them. After all, it wasn’t like the humans you met before felt sorry for you or even some type of sympathy. The only thing that made you stop for a bit before resuming your walk was the fact that some tourists had children with them, and seeing the small people walking around, looking at everything with sweet innocent eyes and just enjoying what was going to be their last experience on earth, well, the picture was heartbreaking. You didn’t really wish for children, which was convenient since you knew you would never have them, but still, you didn’t hate them. Children, unlike adults, were innocent souls in the middle of the hate and filth that their parents throw around to anything that was weaker than them. Children were forgiving and loving, so the idea of them dying at the hands of your peers, even if you knew that it was a necessary evil since there couldn’t be any witnesses… Well, it was painful for your heart.  Still, you didn’t plan to stop the kings nor defy them, after all, you were just a visitor trying to find somewhere that would want you by their side.
As soon as you got closer to the throne room a woman in heels and looking quite nervous approached you. She was clearly human, the smell was so clear that it was almost painful. Still, you decided to follow her game and let her talk, pretending that her words mattered something to you. Then you decided to take off your sunglasses, looking for a reaction, just for curiosity. Well, you got one, she went instantly quiet, looking scared before starting to apologise to you. Your red eyes, which could be considered a new development after leaving your mate and his wife, followed her actions while noticing how some guards were walking towards you. You lifted your hands a little bit, showing that you weren’t coming to their house to cause any problems.
One of the guards, the smaller of the two that were approaching you decided to grab you by the shoulder while pulling you closer to a chamber close to the throne room. Considering that you were the invader in their home, you decided to follow their lead, accepting their rough way of handling your body. This didn’t mean that you were happy with it, but you weren’t willing to cause any type of trouble, especially since you were going to request something quite big from your kings.
A few hours passed, the smell of blood making you notice that they were almost done with the feeding time. You looked at your nails, before turning towards the door. It wasn’t going to be too soon, but you knew that after cleaning, the guards that showed you this room were going to come back and walk you to another room where you would be able to talk with the kings. You leaned against the window in the room and when you saw the gorgeous sunset, you couldn’t help but let out a sigh. It wasn’t because you were out of breath. After all, you didn’t even breathe. But the sunset made you think of the afternoons in Carlisle’s arms. The soft and almost caring caresses that he provided your body.
You were about to open the window but the sound of the door opening made you look at it. The two guards from before were walking towards you, but behind them, there was another guard. He was tall, head full of black hair that looked quite soft and fluffy. He had the typical perfection of a vampire, but unlike most of your kind, he looked warm, and if you dared, even caring. He seemed to be maybe 35, but you knew better than that. A strong jawline and wide shoulders. He felt like a greek god. Your eyes couldn’t help but follow him. He looked at you, almost in a trance while following your features and before any of you could stop it, the two of you were touching your faces.
“Who…?” You started but felt that you couldn’t even finish the question. How could you? Carlisle was supposed to be the one for you, the only one for you… But suddenly you were looking at this vampire and you were seeing how he actually saw you. You felt so precious and loved and this wasn’t far from what you were planning to ask your kings but at the same time you weren’t sure if you were ready for it to happen at the exact second you arrived in Volterra. You wanted to be taken into their home, maybe as a minor guard for some months before making your request and trying to find another vampire willing to bond with you, just to fill the void that you knew Chelsea would create when she decided to lose the bond between you and Carlisle. But now, you were there, in their home and thrown in front of a vampire that seemed to share a bond with you, a bond that made your mate bond seem weak and even useless.
“I don’t…” The vampire touching you said, and you couldn’t help but shiver, not because of him, but because your brain seemed to go hardwire at the same exact second he spoke to you. His voice, deep, rich, touched your skin and it felt like the golden silk that your father had brought when you were human, touch so delicate and caring as if you were the most precious jewel in the world.
“Nikolas, we have to go with the kings” One of the guards guided you to the room where you were at the moment interrupted. If you were fair, it seemed that he didn’t want to interrupt the whole meeting, but at the same time, you knew that they had a job. So when Nikolas -you were going to save his name for later, wanting to feel it roll off your tongue and see his reaction to it- started to growl with anger, you grabbed his hand and just, looked at his eyes.
“He’s right… I asked for a meeting with them… I won’t make them wait for more than what is necessary” You said and then nodded towards the two guards. “We’ll follow you now, thank you for coming for me” At your words, they looked a bit surprised but then nodded, turning around and starting to walk towards -you supposed- the throne room.  Nikolas didn’t walk behind you like he was supposed to but by your side. The whole walk, he was looking at you with so much attention, almost as if he was trying to memorise your features.
Demetri and Felix -who seemed to be together more often than not, from what you learned along their names on the way to the throne room- stood up in front of the doors and knocked a couple of times before looking at you briefly. It was like they were asking you if you were ready to meet your kings, but you were, this was the reason you came here, to be accepted, loved and if they were willing to give you the gift, to be free from the pain of being trapped in a bond with an unwilling partner gave you.
My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, oh And that haunts me every time I close my eyes

The Other Swan
Tumblr media
Word Count: 4,410 Demetri x OC Swan. Final Part. Warnings: Fluff,
Danni excelled at being a mother to Nicolai, her maternal instincts stronger and running deeper than she ever thought possible, but then everything vampires feel is on a much deeper level compared to their human counterparts. Danni would bake cakes and cookies with Nicolai, something that he loved as he got to eat their creations. Demetri would often watch his mate and son baking together, painting together and playing games together. Danni even taught him how play the different card and board games that she played as a child so he could join in with them. Nicolai liked to call this family game time and Demetri couldn’t help smiling as he got to experience the family life he never thought he would once he became immortal.
Caius and Athenodora were pleased to hear that Danni and Demetri agreed to nurture both his human and vampire sides as this meant he got to experience the best of both worlds. Athenodora offered to bake with Nicolai one cloudy Wednesday afternoon “Can you bake Nana?” “Not really sweetie but I can read and therefore can follow the recipes from your cookbooks” She replied smiling down at him “Ok, we’ll start with a simple Chocolate cake recipe” Nicolai responded with a smile of his own as he took his Nana’s hand and walked beside her to the kitchen.
Caius decided to see how his wife and grandson were getting on in the kitchen and walked in to find her blue dress covered in flour and a streak of flour on her cheek. Nicolai had some chocolate around his lips but they both looked happy as they decorated the cake. Caius chuckled low to himself but due to their vampire hearing Athenodora and Nicolai heard him and looked up. “Look Grandpa, we’re nearly finished with our cake” “I can see, it looks delicious” He replied “It’s a shame Nana and I can’t help you eat it” “I’ve told him he has to share the cake with the new Secretary Lori especially as we have some Chocolate chunk cookies in the oven” “Sounds like a good idea darling” Caius replied smiling and Nicolai nodded in agreement.
Around the end of July Aro received a wedding invitation from Alice Cullen announcing that Bella Swan and Edward Cullen were to be married on August 13th although Caius was not happy to hear the news as he knew this was the Cullen’s way of delaying Bella’s transformation further by having a wedding first. Aro on the other hand was excited to hear of the nuptials even if this was the Cullen’s way of announcing that Bella was to become one of them. “I’m going to guess that Danni hasn’t received an invitation or even been notified of the upcoming wedding” Marcus mused aloud “Seeing as they cut her out of their lives months ago, I doubt it” Caius replied “I think we should be the ones tell her” Aro said and his brothers nodded in agreement “I agree. I won’t have secrets kept from her” Caius replied, his protectiveness coming to the surface, knowing that the news would likely upset her.  “Can I be there when you tell her please?” Demetri asked as he and Felix were the only other vampires in the room “Of course my dear boy” Marcus replied “Thank you master. This news is likely to upset her, especially after being cut out of her family’s lives” Demetri replied.
Danni was quiet over the next few days and everyone knew why and didn’t question her about it, they just let her be. Danni kept Nicolai close during these few days too, choosing to spend time with him alone. During one their shopping trips, Nicolai finds a ‘World’s Best Daddy’ mug “Mummy can I get this for Daddy please?” He asked pointing to the mug. Danni smiled before answering “Of course you can sweetie, He’ll love it” “Thank you Mummy” Nicolai replied and hugged her legs.
Later that night after his shift ended, Demetri returned to his room and saw Danni and Nicolai waiting for him, a blue and silver gift bag sitting on the coffee table. “Hello mi amore…” He kissed Danni’s cheek “…Hi buddy” He kissed his son’s hair before taking a seat beside them on the sofa. “Hi Daddy, this is for you” Nicolai said with a big grin on his face, pointing to the gift bag. “Hi babe” Danni replied smiling as Demetri reached over and opened the gift bag to reveal the mug inside. Danni and Nicolai watched as a big smile appeared on Demetri’s face, his eyes becoming glassy with unshed tears “Thank you so much buddy. I love it and you very much” He lifted his son onto his lap and hugged him close, placing a kiss on his hair.
Danni and Demetri started making plans for their wedding as Danni wanted a Winter wedding at the castle. Aro offered to officiate at the ceremony and Danni and Demetri agreed, both surprised and pleased that he wanted to participate in their wedding this way. “It would be an honour Aro, thank you” Danni said as Caius rolled his eyes dramatically from his throne, Demetri tried not to laugh at Caius’ reaction.
Heidi, Chelsea, Jane were asked to be Danni’s Bridesmaids, Gianna taking on the role of Maid of Honour. Felix was chosen as Best Man with Alec and Santiago being groomsmen and Nicolai was given the role of Ring Bearer, something he was very excited about.
Danni asked Caius to accompany her on a walk of the North facing garden and he agreed as he enjoyed spending time with his adopted daughter. They took a seat on the bench in front of the fountain and Danni took an unneeded breath before speaking. “Caius, I have something important I would like to ask you…” Caius took her hand in his and nodded for her to continue “…I wondered if you would give me away at the wedding?” Caius’ face lit up “Of course I would my child. I’m honoured that you asked” He wrapped his arms around her in hug “Thank you, not just for agreeing to give me away but for making me feel like part of the family” “You are most welcome Danni. As far as I am concerned you are my daughter and I would do anything and everything to ensure you are happy and safe always” He pulled her in for another hug, Danni resting her head on his shoulder, feeling tears fill her eyes that will go unshed.
Athenodora told Demetri that she and Caius would pay for Danni’s bridal gown along with the Bridesmaid and Maid of Honour dresses. “You don’t need to do that Mi’ lady” He replied “I know we don’t have to but we want to. As you know we see Danni as our daughter and this is our gift to you both” Demetri nodded “Thank you very much for your offer. It’s greatly appreciated” “You are most welcome my dear” She replied before giving him a quick hug. Demetri has always been Athenodora’s favourite guard and she was very happy he would become her official son-in-law soon.
Danni and Demetri had decided on a Red and White colour scheme for their Winter wedding, deciding on having Poinsettias as the centre pieces as they are a Winter flower. Red and White Roses would make up the bridal bouquets.
Caius had the guards freshen up the ballroom’s décor as it was looking a little dull after years of not being used. The cream-coloured walls looked bright and fresh against the polished real wood flooring once finished.
Marcus arranged for ‘Midnight Fangs’ a vampire quartet to play at the wedding, having had them perform at the castle during previous balls and galas.
If only they knew that all of these plans were going to be put on hold…
It is early December when Irina enters Castillo Volterra and makes her way to the throne room. Santiago opens the doors and she enters, Demetri and Felix walking towards her, curious as to what she wants. “What a pleasant surprise” Aro says as Irina enters the throne room, Marcus looks fed up and closed his book softly. “What do you want?” Caius asks sounding a little irritated turning around to face her “Hmm” She pauses a moment before replying “I have to report a crime…the Cullens…they have done something…terrible.” A smirk appears on Caius’ face and Aro closes his book and flashes over to Irina “Allow me my dear” Aro says taking her hand in his and looking at her thoughts and memories regarding the Cullen’s ‘crime’ “Oh my” He says once he’s finished. “Brother what have they have done now?” Caius asks as he walks towards them “It would appear dear brother they have created an immortal child” Aro replies “WHAT?!!” Caius shouts “ARE YOU SURE?” “Irina saw the child herself, she was jumping in the air catching snowflakes” Aro replied “Then we send the guards now! They can destroy the child and the Cullens” Caius responds “No brother. I think we will take our time, gather some witnesses and pay them a visit ourselves along with the guards” Aro replies calmly, despite the anger simmering inside. “A public trial?” Caius smirks “Yes brother. A public trial…this way we can be sure that our kind are reminded that creating immortal children is still illegal” Aro replies “Thank you for letting us know my dear” Marcus said smiling “Santiago please show Irina to one of our guest rooms” Marcus says looking at the guard “Yes master” Santiago bows his head and leads her to a guest room on the second floor.
Later that day Aro calls Danni to the throne room and asks the guards to leave except for Demetri. “Thank you for coming Danni…we have something we need to discuss with you” Aro starts “Ok. Have I done something wrong?” She asks looking between the Kings and Demetri “No, Danni you have done nothing wrong” Aro replies with a warm smile and Danni instantly relaxes “However, someone you know well has done something wrong, illegal even…” He pauses for a moment “…It would seem that the Cullens have created an immortal child…” “You have to got to be kidding me? Like seriously? What the hell?” Danni cuts Aro off. The Kings and Demetri cannot help laughing a little at her reaction. “Well I hope you plan to deal with them accordingly Caius” She adds looking at him “Yes child we do. There will be a public trial in Forks with witnesses” He replies and she nods “You don’t object to that?” Marcus asks curiously “No, I don’t. Caius gave me a history lesson once whilst Demi was away and informed me of your laws and how you dealt with the immortal children problem when it arose centuries ago” “But Bella’s your sister” Marcus adds, his head tilted to the side slightly “Don’t remind me!...” Danni bites back and Demetri intertwined his fingers with hers, squeezing them gently “…She left me here nine months ago and hasn’t looked back, remember” The Kings all nod at her, sympathy shining in their ruby eyes at the memory of that day.
A moment of silence passed before Danni spoke again “Can I ask how you know about this?” “We had a visitor this afternoon and she told us about the child. In fact, the child was seen with your sister” Aro replied “Bella may not have been aware of immortal children and the law surrounding them but Carlisle would have known and I’m sure Edward would also have been aware. They have broken a law and need to face the consequences and let’s face it you’ve been lenient in the past with Bella and Edward and look how they’ve repaid you” She responds back “That was not the reaction I was expecting from you my dear but I will say I am impressed with the way you have handled the news” Aro tells her honestly “Thank you Aro. I do, however, have a request…regarding the trial and any subsequent punishment” “We’re listening my dear” Caius replies this time and steps closer to her “I do not want Demetri to have any involvement in the punishment of the Cullens, especially Bella and Edward. I am not sure if you are aware but last summer Edward and his brothers killed a vampire who tried to kill Bella and as a result the vampire’s mate sought revenge…she even tried to kill Bella. This took place after Edward left her…before we came here…” She paused to see the Kings reactions, they nodded for her to continue “…As selfish as this may seem I am asking that Demetri is not involved as I do not want any of the Cullens to come after me or him as revenge. I do not want to be looking over my shoulder or worrying about him when he is on missions, more than I do already. Also, I do not want our son to grow up with only one parent” She added looking up at Demetri to see that he was looking down at her lovingly. “I think we can all agree with that request my dear, after all you haven’t asked for anything since you arrived and you understand the situation we are in and have handled it better than we expected. I also have no desire to risk anything happening to my grandson or his parents” Caius answered her “Thank you Caius” She replied and gave him a quick hug “Yes thank you master for agreeing to Danni’s request” “You are both welcome. We do, however, ask that you both accompany us when we go to Forks” He replies “Of course master” Demetri replies and Danni nods in agreement.
The following day Irina was in the library reading along with Alec when Danni entered with Nicolai “What the...?” Irina says shocked when she notices the little boy who resembles Demetri but who clearly has a heartbeat “Irina this Danni, Demetri’s mate and their son Nicolai” Alec introduces them “It’s nice to meet you Irina” Danni smiles at her “Nice to meet you too” Irina replies “Nicolai…he has a-a heartbeat…but how?” Irina asks “I’m half-human, half-vampire” He replies “I had him whilst I was still human, Demetri changed me after he was born…about six months ago” Danni adds “But he-he looks like...” Irina trails off “His vampire side means he grows faster than his human counterparts and is quite smart for his age too” Danni tells her as she takes a seat on the sofa opposite her and Nicolai sits beside his mum. “I didn’t know that vampires could have children” Irina says looking at the boy “Neither did we. It was a surprise to us all to discover that male vampires can father children with human females” Alec responds. “I’m gifted too like mummy and daddy” Nicolai says proudly “Really? May I ask what your gift is Nicolai?” Irina asks, curiosity shining in her amber coloured eyes “I’m a shield like mummy and I am able to track people like daddy, but only those with shields. I fill in the gaps of daddy’s gift” He replies proudly “Wow” Irina breathed out, “I can’t believe how much he looks like Demetri” Irina says looking between Nicolai and Danni “I know, me too. He’s a mini version of his dad” Danni replies and Nicolai just smiles back at Irina.
A few days later Nicolai and Irina were walking in the South facing garden when he stopped walking and gently tugged on her hand to get her attention. “Irina, can I ask why you have amber coloured eyes seeing as you are a vampire?” Nicolai asked curiosity shining in his blue eyes “I have amber eyes because I am a vegetarian vampire…” “What’s a vegetarian vampire?” He asked, cutting her off “A vegetarian vampire survives on animal blood instead of human blood” She responded and watched as Nicolai tried to process this information and knew he would have more questions for her. “What animals do you eat and how do you find them?” “Where I live in Alaska, there is a very big forest surrounding our house and my family and I hunt the animals there. In the forest there are different animals, Bears, Moose, Wolves and Caribou to name a few” “Oh, that’s different. Why don’t you hunt humans like other vampires?” “My family and I used to hunt humans but after many years we decided to try surviving on animal blood and found that we could survive that way, although there are not many vegetarian vampires” “You are the first vegetarian vampire I have met” He said with a smile “You are the first vampire / human hybrid that I’ve met” She replied with a smile of her own. They resumed their walk around the garden and continued to talk about different topics. Irina was surprised at how ‘grown-up’ Nicolai was and sounded despite how young he was.
Whilst the Kings and the four Elite guards were away from the castle to gather some witnesses of their own for the upcoming Cullen trial, Danni found that Nicolai’s shielding ability had developed. “Look Mummy…” Danni looked up from her book to see a faint shimmering glow circling her son, giving him the appearance of being inside a protective bubble. Danni smiled, feeling proud of her son and his growing ability. “That’s amazing sweetie” She praised him and he smiled back at her. She wondered if she could get her shield do the same or something similar at the very least. ‘It’d be nice to be able to protect the ones I love, as well as myself’ She thought to herself and decided to ask Santiago and Heidi for their help in Demetri’s absence.
Danni and Nicolai met with Santiago and Heidi the following morning in the south-facing garden as they had agreed to help them develop their shielding abilities. Nicolai asked to train with Santiago as he knew that Demetri had trained Santiago when he joined the guard and still spars with him regularly. Danni and Heidi worked together to see how her shield worked and if she could shield someone other than herself.
With a lot of hard work, Danni was able to shield multiple people as she had practised constantly, pushing her shield to its max. Her shield looked different to her son’s as hers looked almost like it was an extension of her, a faint shimmering was the only hint that her shield was in use to protect the ones she loved.
Upon Demetri’s return to the castle Danni and Nicolai updated him on the development of their gifts. Nicolai was able to shield not only himself but one other person easily. “I hope I can shield more people when I’m older” He said looking up at his dad “You’re doing just fine as you are buddy” Demetri replied proudly, as he looked down at his son as they both stood inside Nicolai’s ‘protective bubble.’
Caius, Aro and Marcus stood watching Danni and Nicolai with proud smiles on their faces. “At least we can keep Edward from reading our thoughts now” Caius said proudly and nudged Aro slightly “Yes, and it’ll be a good surprise for the damned law breaker too” Aro replied with a smile.
December 31st – Confrontation –
Once it had been declared that Renesmee was not an immortal child, Irina was ripped apart and burned for providing a false allegation against the Cullens. “That’s a shame mummy, I liked her” Nicolai said low so only his parents heard him and she nodded in response.
Alice and Jasper made their way back to the Cullens and their witnesses but before anyone could leave Vladimir shouts out “TRAITOR” and looks directly at Danni “Excuse me?” She asks “You are on the wrong side my dear, should you not be over here supporting your sister?” He replies “Supporting my sister, why would I want to do that after what she and her precious Edward did?” “You mean have a child together?” Stefan replies “No. I’m talking about the fact that they left me in Volterra nine months ago and haven’t been in touch since. In fact, I received one letter from Esme telling me that once Edward and Bella landed back here, they told my dad I had died in an accident and that a memorial was held for me. Edward made that decision on the flight back from Volterra thus, ensuring I could never come home to see my dad, never have the chance to introduce him to my mate. They took away my chance to say goodbye” She replied and noticed the shocked looks on the faces of the Cullen’s witnesses “Oh…you all look surprised. Did they not tell you that part? Did they also tell you that they never invited me to their wedding? I only found out about the wedding from Aro after they sent an invitation to him to let him know it was taking place. It was their way of announcing Bella’s transformation.” She added and Demetri squeezed her hand gently. Caius moved closer to Danni, a scowl settling on his face.
“I notice you have a child of your own” Tanya says looking at Nicolai “Yes, I do. My son was born six months ago and my fiancée changed me after he was delivered, we didn’t want to risk another pregnancy as there was no guarantee I would handle another one so well” She responded and noticed Carlisle looked a little confused. “Danni drank human blood regularly once we discovered she was pregnant, this allowed her to meet the baby’s needs and she was able to keep certain foods down too” Caius advised him proudly and Carlisle nodded, clearly impressed as it sounded like Danni had an easier pregnancy than her sister.
“Why did you not tell me I had a nephew?” Bella asked “Why would I? You cut me out of your life, cut me out of my own family. I have a new family now and I couldn’t be happier” Danni replies smiling.
“You have a chance to reconnect with one another, especially as you both have children now” Esme replies softly “Esme as much as I like you and Carlisle, we’re all aware that if it wasn’t for this ‘situation’ we wouldn’t even be talking. I mean none of you got in touch to advise me of the wedding or that my niece was born three months ago” Danni replied. “You can’t take the high ground Danni, your mate would have killed us if there had been a fight today” Edward called out “That is where you are wrong Eddie. The Kings agreed to my request of keeping Demetri out of any executions involving you Cullens as I didn’t want any of you coming after me or my mate as revenge. I protected my family unlike you. I mean look what happened after you killed James, his mate went after Bella to avenge him and you weren’t even here to protect her. So, I have every reason to take the high ground as you put it as I have done nothing to any of you” She replied. Edward went to speak but Caius cut him off “I would consider your next words to Danni very carefully Cullen or you’ll find yourself joining Irina in becoming a pile of ash” “Why do you care what he says to her?” Bella asked “I care because Danni is my daughter and no one, and I do mean no one will disrespect a member of my family” Caius replies and Demetri smirks at the Cullens as surprise registers on their faces.
“What?…how…?” Bella struggled to speak, too shocked at Caius’ news. “My wife and I always wanted to have a daughter and once we met and got to know Danni, things fell into place and we came to care for her as though she was our daughter…” Caius spoke looking directly at Bella “And I came to care about Caius and Dora as my parents in return” Danni finished Caius’ sentence with a warm smile. Everyone watched as Athenodora stepped forward and slipped her hand into her husband’s as she spoke “We were there for Danni when she needed love and support as she navigated her way through a new relationship, whilst she settled into her new life and her new home...” Bella looked as though she wanted to say something but Athenodora didn’t give her chance. “…You abandoned your sister without a second thought when she needed you, needed your support to navigate her way through a new relationship, a relationship with a vampire no less and everything that came with that, seeing as you had experience with this but you chose Edward instead.” Danni nodded and felt so loved in that moment hearing her adoptive parents speak this way about her.
“Just so we are clear Bella, you will not be receiving an invitation to our wedding as it’s for our family and friends only” Demetri adds and Danni nods in agreement before adding “We had to postpone our special day because of you and your ‘antics.’”
Silence filled the air as no one spoke, as they tried to process everything they’ve just heard. “Danni and the Volturi are telling the truth about everything…” Maggie says looking around at the Cullen’s witnesses “…And Bella and Edward haven’t even bothered to apologise or make amends for their actions” Maggie continued, distaste clear in her voice.
“Our apologies Danni for calling you a traitor. It appears we were not told the truth regarding yours and Demetri’s situation” Vladimir called out and she and Demetri nodded. “That’s quite alright. I don’t blame Demetri for keeping me by his side that day. If I’m being honest, I’m glad he did as our relationship developed naturally and I got to have a son with the man I love. I am looking forward to spending an eternity with my family and that doesn’t include any of you” She replied looking at Bella and the Cullens, before turning to face her mate. “Let’s go home mi amore” Demetri smiled down at her and looked at Marcus who just smiled and nodded. The Cullens and their witnesses watched as Demetri and Danni left the field with their son and didn’t look back.

new Marcus fic
Okay, so, I know it seems like I’ve been absent for a really long time - and I have been. But I haven’t just been doing nothing, I swear! In the background I’m working an a book where it’ll be Marcus x an OC on Wattpad. My username on Wattpad is also Volturisideslut and the book is well on the way to being finished with all the progress I’ve been making lately. It has not been finished yetand i won’t upload until it is done because i understand the frustration of reading a fic and getting to the end and seeing its incomplete. It will be done soon, though!

Demetri’s wife was named Lenodora, and when she got pregnant they agreed that if the baby was a boy they’d name him after her, Lenodaurus, and if the baby was a girl, they’d name her after Demetri (Demetrios at that point in time), her name in that case would be Demetria.
The baby was a girl, and though Lenodora died giving birth to her, as he always says now, he despises the kind of men who would take that kind of thing out on their children. He was determined to be a good father. He loved Demetria so much, she was the sunshine in the dark sky of her mother’s death. The silver lining of that storm cloud. Demetri had his mother and his closest sister, Dorothea, by his side to guide him through it.
Unfortunately, Demetria died only a few months after Lenodora.

I’m procrastinating on writing a longer post about Demetri’s wife from when he was human but here’s just one bittersweet little thing about their tragic love story.

Switched Positions- Demetri Volturi x Reader 18+
Tumblr media
Laying in bed together, talking to one and other in those last few minutes before sleep pulled me down, was the best part of every day. I loved to be laid in Dem's arms with my head on his chest, listening to the low rumble as he talked about his duties that occurred that very day. My fingers would always wind around the thick cape he wore every day , grasping the fabric with each word he spoke like a sort of comforter. Last night was no different. Once Dem had finished his castle duties, he returned as always to our shared chambers. With one swift movement, he entered the room and  pulled me flush to him . I had missed him despite seeing him a mere few hours ago .  After six months together even one night apart was an eternity. I found myself willing my date to turn to come faster with every passing day, just so we wouldn't have to spend so much time apart. Most days he could be sent on missions that could last for days at a time , at which the only contact we would share would be a simple phone call at most . Tonight however he was home and there would be no more nights of a cold, empty bed to crawl into for a long time or at least until the next mission.
I don't know if it was the danger his job involved or if I just craved the closeness that only being snuggled under the blankets together could give us. But it was only about 11 p.m., and I was exhausted because well I never slept well when he was away. I wrapped my arm around his waist  to clutch the material of his shirt while he told me about what he had done on his trip more so what Felix had done to irritate the twins. I cracked jokes and made him chuckle, his hand stroking my hair, the sound of his chuckle low and deep against my ear on his chest. My love for him was always strong if not un-breakable, but at night, when it was just us in bed, I felt it even more. Those small moments out of our days let me know that we could and would always survive anything.  It was our ability to share, to touch and to love and to trust one another that would ensure our infinite future together. I loved this man more than I could have ever imagined and more than I ever thought humanly possible.
He leaned down to kiss me goodnight, a gentle press of lips against my forehead.  He had been away from me too long for me to accept anything gentle. Every night he had been gone I imagined what I wanted to do to him when he was finally back with me again and I was not about to let him get away that easily. I snaked my hand around the back of his neck, pulling him tighter against me as I parted his lips with my tongue, he succumbed to my plan and chased my tongue back into my mouth with his own. He licked across my lips, gently sucking the bottom one into his mouth. I groaned softly at the feel of it which made him smile.
Grasping me by the curve of my hips he lifted me on top of him, his fingers tangled in my hair, his palms caressing the back of my jaw. I straddled his hips while I continued to kiss him deeply, our tongues crashing violently against one another. He tasted so fucking good better than any candy I had ever eaten. If i were to be given the choice between candy and Dem . He would win every damn time. I pulled myself away from his mouth to kiss a wet trail down the side of his throat then back up to his ear.  He shifted beneath me, his arousal painfully obvious against my pj covered body. I scooted my ass up purposefully, rubbing against his erection and being rewarded for the movement with a deep growl from his throat, that only excited me more. He was allowing me the control that I craved. I kissed him again, my tongue practically fucking his mouth. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer so he could roll over and lie on top of me, positioning his lower half between my legs. I responded by rubbing myself against his bulging cock. The friction between us was driving me mad and I loved every second of it. He felt amazing, he always did . I let my hand travel down his chest and over his stomach. Tracing my finger along the inside of the elastic band of his boxers then slowly slid my hand down, caressing the top of his thigh, being carefull to avoid the area he needed me most . He stayed perfectly still,  I knew what he was expecting me to do but this was my time . I am the one in control. I ran my fingers lightly over his cock, barely a whisper of a touch from the base to his tip. I swirled my finger around the pre-cum that was pooling at his tip, withdrawing my hand to noisily suck my finger clean by his ear. A large growl erupted from his throat " You're pushing your luck with my patience there princess", but his ass was pushing harder against me making it ever so easy to brush aside the warning so I smirked and bit my teeth seductively into the corner of my lip. I moved my hand back into his boxers and gripped his cock hard in my hand. I started slowly pumping him until his hips started moving in rhythm with my hand, then I moved faster. He moaned softly, the small noise encouraging me further. I moved my face so that I could breathe on his ear as he liked to do to me and he shuddered. Success. I have him right where I wanted him.
'Do you want me to suck your cock?" I whispered. 'Yes. God, please yes,' he panted, grabbing my wrist to pull my hand away from his pulsing erection. 'Then tell me' I demanded with authority halting my actions. 'Please suck my dick." Demetri pleaded . For once it was nice to see the tables turned and have him being the one pleading for his release but deep down I knew I'd pay for this later but the risk was worth it, well worth it. 'Don't ask me, fucking tell me.' My mouth was pressed against his ear and I growled the words at him. 'Suck my cock!' He all but shouted.
I smiled down at him, taking in the moment. I loved that only I had the power to get him in that kind of state. He lay there naked, erect, waiting for me to do as I was told. But he knew telling me to suck him off had only been at my request and not his command, so he was not in control of how I would do it or when . I was in control, I would set the pace, I would do as I wanted to him, and he would cum when I was ready for him to cum. I slid down so I could put my mouth softly around the tip of his cock. He moved as if he would reach for my head out of instinct, but then he dropped his hands to the bed by his hips. 'Good boy,' I whispered. Any thought of sleeping I may have had was gone. I was aching to taste him, to tease him, to make him ache until he begged me to let him cum. I licked my lips then took the smooth head of his cock into my mouth again, swirling my tongue around it as if it were the sweetest ice cream cone I had ever tasted. I slid down his shaft and when my forehead touched his stomach I lay there, still as I could, letting him feel my throat convulse and tighten around the head of his cock buried deep inside me. He moved his hand around my chin and fondled his balls. I violently pushed his hand away and he moaned again.
'Mine, Demetrius , behave' I said firmly. I wrapped my right hand around the base of his cock, pumping slowly up and down. My left hand slid between his legs so I could press lightly on the tight ring of muscles at his anus. He shifted his legs to give me better access to anything I wanted to touch. I smiled up at him for a moment before putting my lips around his cock again. I moved my hand in time with my mouth to keep from choking while I concentrated on slowly probing his asshole with my finger. When I had the first finger all the way in I slowly inserted a second, moving them back and forth to work the muscles loose so I didn't hurt him. He cursed out in Italian at the sensations he was experiencing, his hands finally reaching for my head to try and slow me down. But I didn't want to slow down. I wanted to feel him, taste him, make him scream for me. I moved my right hand, smacking at his arms to get him to move. He did, reluctantly. I sucked at him with my mouth as fast as I could, his cock hitting the back of my throat forcefully. His hands clenched in the sheets close to shredding them, so I knew he was close to coming for me. I crooked the fingers inside of his ass, pressing hard against that small, sweet spot inside of him. He let out a vicious snarl , hitting  at the wall next to us as his juices filled my mouth with a taste like liquid sugar  flooding my mouth, sliding over my tongue. I pulled out my fingers so I could gently massage his balls while he pumped his seed down my throat.
I let him slip from between my lips then placed a light kiss on his thigh, causing him to squirm and laugh quietly. I climbed up his body and he placed a soft kiss on my lips. 'I love you,' I said, snuggling against him. 'I love you too." 'Can I do that again?' I asked. 'I don't think I could take you doing that again right now but if i'm not mistaken I do believe its my turn to taste you darling' He had said it as if it were a joke, but I thought it was a great idea. At the pure excitement of it being his turn I could feel the heat pool in the pit of my stomach. 'I want that too' I breathed.
That was all the invitation he needed and within seconds he knelt between my thighs. Demetri  used a mixture of fingers and tongue to knead and flick me towards ecstasy and I could both feel and hear the moisture rising in my hole. In and out, in and out with first two fingers then three plunged deep inside me , his thumb catching my clit with each movement. My hips squirmed involuntarily as my climax came coursing it's way through and when my orgasm erupted through me,  my  hips thrust up towards him. He took that opportunity to eat me out like it was his final meal. He plunged his tongue deep into my core as he sucked out my juices. 'Dessert never tasted so good,' he commented. I pushed myself back on to my elbows and looked at him framed between my bent knees. 'Fuck me then,' I ordered playfully.
He pushed himself to his feet and stood over me. Then with the look of a man who knew he would perform well, he crawled on top of me, holding himself up with his hands. With his face inches from mine he looked like he was going to say something but didn't. I let out a groan as he filled me to the brim and waited for him to go to work. He rocked gently at first, barely even moving, then as he speeded up his thrusts became longer and deeper.
He flicked my ankles up and locked my toes behind his neck. His hands gripped my hips his fingers bound to leave marks. With every bang Dem's groin hit my already excited and pulsing clitoris and it wasn't long before I  felt another climax hit me . When I felt him suddenly expand within me, stretching me wide beneath him, I knew that his moment was almost there. So I latched my teeth to his jugular and playfully bit down. Within seconds he came within me , filling me to the brim with his seed. We lay together for a long time embracing the time together . No doubt before time could pass he'd be back on guard duty once again. For now however I'd take as much as I could get.

“I hope there is no misunderstanding.”
“Of course not, we will send someone when the time is right. It is truly wonderful to see you again! Would you want to join us for dinner? I’m sure Heidi can gather enough for one more.”
“No need, I fed just before arriving. I do thank you for the offer.”
A tiny blonde ran up to Aro, whispering something of importance. A truly necessary thing to do as a vampire, but a habit hard to break. Still, she had been practicing, Mut was only barely able to make out the last part of her sentence.
“They are already on their way.”
There was a sigh, “You have to forgive us, but we seem to be having an influx of…visitors. A few people in our guard are accompanying Heidi and are on their way as we speak. Could we show you to a room until we have fed?”
She knew full well what he meant. She had waited too long. All she could do was offer a curt nod in resolution, “I suppose there is no avoiding it then?”
  “I’m afraid not.”
The air was quiet when everyone returned. There was an understanding that it was time to come to an agreement. The younger ones seemed worried about their previous actions. Benjamin began nervously tapping his fingers.
“Careful Benjamin, you might cause a fire.” Mut ruffled his hair before taking a seat next to her husband.
Amun looked at his mate, asking if she was sure without speaking. She nodded and allowed him to be the one to tell the coven what the plan would be.
“We shall go. Only as witnesses.” He looked at Benjamin when he spoke the last part, the young boy nodded too eagerly
“This is a bad idea.” Kebi muttered to herself
“One more thing.” Mut interrupted, “We stay together, whether we leave or not. Benjamin I am speaking to you. Majority rules.”
“That’s unfair, you three always outnumber us. But, understood.” He nodded and Tia agreed. As much as she would want to side with Benjamin, Tia was content with her life. Years of protecting him as a child translated well when she was turned, she felt indebted to him. He had, after all, rescued her from a husband she was forced to pretend to be happy with. The music that once filled her heart had felt long extinguished. Benjamin appeared one day and offered her to never have to worry again, he told her that she could have an actual family. He was wrong on part of his promise, Tia worried. Tia worried every day. She didn’t need anything else, her life was perfect. She couldn’t admit it to Benjamin, but she had no interest in going to meet those erratic looking vampires. She wishes she had kept her mouth shut.
“You seem nervous child.” Amun sat next to Tia. Mut had noticed her distant stare, the dissociation from any and all conversation. Her and Amun both shared a look before Mut immediately began challenging Benjamin to a game to keep them preoccupied. Tia blinked slowly, adjusting back to her surroundings. She could hear Benjamin and Mut laughing. Kebi was running from room to room collecting everything they could need. Tis brought her knees to her chest. From the minute he had met Tia, Amun had been able to tell how vastly different she was to his past daughter. The boys, they were similar in some aspects but Mut argued Benjamin and Sekhmet were the closest to sibling. He was inclined to agree. But Tia, she may as well have been a mouse, hiding within the confines of her home in the coven. She worked hard to try and not upset anyone, unsure if either head of the coven would one day tire of her.
“I don’t wish to leave here.” Tia had always been soft spoken, her voice only the tiniest bit away from a whisper. But this, it was if she could only mouth the words.
“I’m sure it’s clear I have little interest leaving either.”
“Then why do we have to go?”
Amun sighed, “Benjamin will go regardless of what we think.”
“Can you not tell him to stay??”
A chuckle escaped him, “I doubt there anyone on this earth that can tell him anything.”
“Can I ask you something? Honestly?”
 “Of course.”
“Why are you doing this? Kebi is very against this whole thing. Ommi is the only one who seems interested in really going. I don’t understand why the two of you would risk the volturi, even if we are supposed to just witness.”
Kebi stopped. Only for a half second but enough to warn Amun that if she heard Tia, Benjamin would be able to as well. He could tell Benjamin at a later time, “Lets walk.” Tia followed soundlessly, even more curious about the secrecy that seemed to continue to spring up ever since the tired looking vampire came to visit. Amun led the two of them right out of hearing distance. The young vampire had rarely seen her chosen father seem so pained. Amun was known for being straightforward, hiding something from either her or Benjamin seemed out of character.
“You remember the reason we do not anger the volturi?”
“Of course, the war between your coven and the volturi. You, ommi, Kebi and a couple others decided to stay out and follow the rules they had set up.”
“Well, actually I suppose we almost ended up joining the rather hopeless battle.”
 “I thought—"
“Believe me, we had no interest in doing so but we had another member in our coven who decided to fight at the last minute.”
 “Another member?”
“Your… sister of sorts. A bit younger than Benjamin. She was confident we had the advantage even though our original coven barely tolerated each other. She ran away at the last minute, we were seconds late.”
Amun took a breath to steady himself. Tia was stunned. It was no wonder they were so terrified to let the two of them meet anyone. They had only met Isis and Osiris on occasion and they had only left Egypt to meet the Volturi once. Tia remembered despising it, she had spent the entire time wishing she was back home. Benjamin enjoyed seeing something different but he had been moved around too much to not be anxious. The castle was extravagant, and the volturi were nice enough. Still, there was a coldness in the air that worried. She saw her mother silent, as the one who tried to keep the atmosphere cheerful the quiet was enough to worry her.
“Is--is that why you guys seemed so sad when we had to see them?”
Amun was surprised at the perceptiveness of his oldest. He had assumed she was scared at the long halls that seemed to stretch forever, the bleak atmosphere, the death that seemed to seep from the walls as if the ghosts of all the previous victims were still here prisoners of someone’s mistakes. Worse… He worried his stories had frightened her, worried they may not make it out. Truthfully, even he worried for that possible outcome. His fear of Benjamin possibly a similar route to Demetri had preoccupied his thoughts until he felt the tiny girl he had known to try mediate any argument cling onto his arm. He made sure to say nothing even when he could feel the cracks forming. Tia loosened her grip when the sound of porcelain struggling to hold together brought attention to her actions. Mut had noticed after this as well and held Tias hand the rest of the way.
“Not entirely. Benjamin was offered a chance to join their coven. We have had someone we care about decide to join them. We figured there was a chance Benjamin may consider the offer. We are aware we can be a bit overbearing.” The two were heading back albeit slow, Tia had so many more questions. “Tia. You are not to tell Benjamin about this, not yet.”
“You think he cannot handle it?”
“I tell you this only because you asked. We had not been supportive of Sekhmet’s decision and she acted rashly. Her and Benjamin are similar.” Painfully, similar he thought. Amun swore Sekhmet had to be in some way related to the young vampire. As if her soul had decided to give them a second chance to redeem themselves. “Benjamin needs to make the decision without guilt playing a factor in his choice. We both have decided regardless we will not hesitate this time.”
“Very well. But he should know about the other vampire you two are hiding in the volturi.”
“I think Mut may answer that part of the story when she is ready. It is something I am not proud of nor ready to discuss right now.”
“You do not need to. I understand.” Her responses always made her seem older than she was. Amun smiled at the young girl. His throat tight with guilt. Thinking back on the night Benjamin brought Tia, he had almost turned her away. Had his mate not accepted her so quickly…He would rather not dwell in those thoughts. He ruffled her hair, enjoyed the brisk air. While the temperature may not affect his own body temperature it was still refreshing, even nice to step out of hiding even for a bit. Tia on her end felt more at ease at knowing her family had no intention of leaving them behind. The two raced back, eager to get the trip over with.
Benjamin was eagerly awaiting their return. He began peppering Tia with questions, Tia deflected well but for the first time was not sharing her brother’s eagerness. Only saying that she had reservations about leaving. Benjamin was taken aback by this, the boy still worried he would be cast aside, worried about the day he would push too far, why didn’t he learn? Did he force his sister into possible danger? Perhaps it was just his father’s warning?  He decided to quiet his own enthusiasm for the time being,
“You think this will go poorly?”
“If it was going well, Carlisle wouldn’t have had to travel to our home to ask for our help.” Kebi muttered, Mut glared at her sister. Kebi had never been one to complain but she should see the growing concern on her children’s faces. Benjamin’s eyes widened but his mother did not miss him blink back the pools of venom in his eyes.
“We are going as witnesses Benjamin. That is all.” Benjamin nodded at the reassurance in Muts voice. Still the usual softness was replaced with much more stern tone. Every time he brought up the volturi she had seemed to recede further into herself, and her answers became cold. This was not the mother he had come to know. Something troubled her. Yet, she still was trying to comfort him in a way, as if this matter was no longer to be discussed but a job they had to get through. Mut looked at the wide-eyed child and her own worry began subsiding at his concern. Until it was for certain, she had to remind herself a confrontation may not even be in the cards. She put her hand on his cheek, “Everything is fine. We should be leaving, the sooner we arrive the sooner we can decide what kind of help we can offer. Tia, Kebi has collected some clothes but see if you need anything else. I will make a call to the volturi. We can leave right after.”
Everyone had been fed and the plane ride was painless. They chose the closest area that had enough coverage for them to begin their trek to Washington. Upon arriving the cold, humid air excited Benjamin. The contacts he had so vehemently protested were welcome as he realized just how freely he could walk around mostly unnoticed. His mother had gone to get them a car to get to the Cullens with no worry of attracting any more attention. The promise of being able to meet more of his kind outmatched his want for sightseeing, he hoped he would be able to convince Amun of seeing more now that they were actually far from home. Upon arriving, Benjamin felt his hand bend the mist surrounding them, a new element he wanted to play with. Mut just shook her head. Not yet, she warned. The red-haired vampire came out and greeted them first,
“Amun, we appreciate you bringing your family to help us.” Benjamin saw Tia glare at the vampire who appeared a similar age to her, Benjamin was inclined to do the same. His mother and aunt were always heard in their coven. Benjamin thought that if he should thank anyone it should be his mother. The vampire seemed horrified for a split second before grumbling something to the rest of the coven. “Mut, Kebi.”
Benjamin took note of the way his parents had said nothing. He was still curious to see the half human child but tried to remember his mother’s words. The vampire introduced himself and explained the events that occurred with his mate, leading him deeper into the woods near the house that was secluded away. Seeing the child stopped the coven in their tracks. She only had to give a little wave for Benjamin to deem her harmless. Mut and Amun knew of Carlisle’s gifted son, and it was clear he jumped at the opportunity to show off the daughter. Still, something made Mut wary.
“She’s very gifted, she can show you herself what she’s been through, what she’s lived.”
“She communicates with her hands.” Bella picked her up, the child’s hand already outreached towards Benjamin. Mut acted on instinct pulling Benjamin back, her actions surprising even herself.
“What is it?” Amun hovered over her immediately, the children aware of what was happening took a step back.
“I- I’m not sure.” She straightened herself up, and turned to look at her sister, “Kebi, you still do not believe this is the right idea, correct?”
“Of course, you know my position when it comes to the Volturi.”
Mut simply nodded, “Your daughter may show Kebi what she needs to see.”
Kebi might have been furious but she knew her sister well, there was a reason Benjamin was not to touch the child. The growl that came from Edwards throat all but confirmed it.
“She’s harmless.”
“Then you won’t mind showing my sister. My children run off of emotion. I want to get an unbiased opinion.” Benjamin and Tia looked at each other, there was more to this child then they had been told. They looked at their father, already piecing together what his mate had done moments ago.
“What’s the problem?” Bella looked at Edward clueless as to what was unfolding. If Edward answered truthfully, everyone would leave. If he continued forward…Mut couldn’t convince everyone surely?
“Nothing Bella, they are just concerned over their children.”
“Renesme isn’t dangerous, just let her show you.” She walked closer to Kebi. Edwards arm twitched to pull her back, Kebi glanced at her sister who simply nodded and let the child touch her cheek. Images like no other rushed into her mind. Her eyes stared at the deeply at the child who she had seen, who she had felt grow. The something else, she couldn’t explain it but Kebi seemed to no longer be in control of her own thoughts. She struggled to even make any movement. The child pulled her hand away.
Smiling at the woman still frozen in place, she managed to blink away the remaining pictures. But felt as moving any muscle hurt, it was too slow. Yet her mouth seemed to move of its own accord, “They’re right. There is no harm in witnessing. It’s incredible she’s alive.”
Mut looked back over to the trio. “Interesting. Benjamin, your aunt seems dazed can you show Renesme one of your tricks, maybe with some water?”
Benjamin did as he was told. His mother said the same thing to him when were trying to play a prank on Amun. Muts voice this time lacked all playfulness. He collected some water from the air making a pattern so beautiful the child couldn’t stop giggling as it circled her. Kebi still had not moved. His aunt showed nothing on her face. No contempt at him. She would normally dare him to try something of that nature. He’d be on edge for weeks. The shock of cold water hitting her eyes seemed to awaken his aunt.
“Wh-what did she do to me?”
“She just showed you her life Kebi, that’s all.” Edward tried to soothe the panicked Kebi back into a zombie like state.
“Kebi. Why don’t we all go into the house? We haven’t seen the Irish coven in a long time.” Mut glared at Edward as they began to retreat back, “Benjamin, Tia you can show Renesme more tricks later. Okay?”
Edward stared down the Egyptian coven backing away. His plans possibly unraveling. His mate looked as stupefied as Kebi had been. Her eyes sort of glossed over. As if she was a mere shell of someone who used to be in there. Mut was sure they would follow but some more guests were arriving. Mut made sure they retreated into the farthest corner of the house before speaking.
“Why do you want to stay?”
“I- I don’t. But we should help. She did something! It’s like—she is completely innocent after all. No! What is happening? My thoughts! They are not my own.”
“My love, what are you thinking?” Amun grew panicked at his mate’s sister. Her mind had never switched sides. Even with Sekhmet, she remained firm in standing aside when she ran off.
“That child is no immortal one. But her abilities seem to do the same. Everyone here has touched her, every person is willing to help? Something does not feel right.”
“Feel right…” Kebi echoed. Suddenly another vampire appeared behind them
“You aren’t the only ones avoiding the two-month toddler.”
“Alistair.” Amun nodded at another acquaintance.
“It seems odd, right? The way everyone seems ready to fight for the child?” Amun and Alistair went over the similarities. Mut looked over Benjamin and Tia. Tia was more visibly shaken.
“I want to leave. Ommi please.”
Mut just shushed her daughter, “Its fine. But I am unsure of what Kebi will do if we leave. We promised we would stay together. It may be nothing. Benjamin, please. Stay away from the child. You can be respectful but do not let her touch you.”
“Is she going to be okay?” Kebi seemed to be staring off in the direction of the child.
“Yes. But I doubt it will get better until this whole thing is resolved. Perhaps we can talk with Zafrina. For now, let’s keep her away. Hopefully whatever is affecting vanishes over time.” The two young vampires nodded. Tia got closer to her father. Furious they had been dragged to his. Furious at herself for not convincing Benjamin to stay in their rooms. Furious at Benjamin for begging to come. Furious that for some reason this house smelled like dog. She couldn’t even speak. Amun patted her hands and she once again relaxed knowing he would not abandon her. But he had also promised he would not leave anyone behind. Kebi is easy to contain but Benjamin. He is still easily swayed. With or without the terrifying doll like child. She unfortunately was entirely right to be concerned.
The odd couple continued to ask only Benjamin to touch the child. To the point where it was obvious to even him that something was off. He chose to follow his mother, who made quick work of trying to find the Irish coven.
“Maggie, have you seen Renesmes gift?”
“I know why you’re asking Mut.”
 “Then answer my question.”
“I don’t know. I’ve never felt anything like this. My dad says he thinks its weird too. But my mum already held her and I can’t pin intentions. Not like that. And now, she’s committed if it comes down to a fight I won’t leave her.”
“Of course. I just felt strange about this whole ordeal. Couldn’t have they just called Aro? Explained everything? He would at least be more willing to listen to a phone call instead of gathering a large amount witnesses?”
Maggie shrugged, “Maybe. I don’t want to stay much longer but I don’t know what to do.”
Mut squeezed the young girl’s shoulder. Maggie offered both of them a smile and nod before she went to sit next to her own mother. Benjamin admired her courage. She knew regardless she would stand by her family. He wondered if his own family would do the same for him. Would they leave him to defend himself? Did he want the answer? A couple of days passed and Kebi seemed eager to hold the child again. Mut was working hard to keep them away, Maggie must have said something to Liam because they tried to do the same with Siobhan. They had also met the young man who was certain the fight would be easy with his pack. Benjamin enjoyed speaking to him but the smell was very unpleasant. He had never had to not breathe and it was something that he hard trouble figuring out. Unfortunately, soon after Bella realized she could train her shield they were joined by the remaining members of the Romanian coven.
After Amun realized the volturi had gathered their own witness he was ready to leave. Edward stopped him by naming all of the vampires the volturi would go after, himself included. “Carlisle may not ask you to fight but I will.” Edward began. Benjamin felt a mix of both fear and pride that the volturi might still want him. He had only met them that one time. He would never abandon his family. Not after they had cared for him for so long. The covens began agreeing to fight. Benjamin looked at Maggie, it was clear she would rather do anything but fight but after Siobhan eagerly agreeing, she nodded back to Edward. Benjamin thought about Kebi, how she badly she wanted to stay. How even if this small child was strange she was not at fault for her circumstances. His family had left him to die, would he able to do the same to her?
“We will talk to Aro. Show him what we’ve seen. But we will not fight.”
Benjamin looked at his mother. The determination in her eyes. His fathers face on the ground. If they weren’t going to fight, why go at all? Edward expected Benjamin to speak up, convinced he had enough doubts to sway him. But to the young vampire, there was something he had never seen in his mother. A desperateness emitting from every part of her. He could also see she was compromising with him, she mouthed at him to trust her and he did. She had never let him down before. Benjamin said nothing to the dismay of the red-haired vampire. Benjamin shrank back as he watched the crowd begin dividing targets and stepping away in case this was goodbye. The only ones that chose to remain were the nomads. The ones who had no one else. Entirely alone, and ready to risk their lives that truly meant little to them at this point.
Amun and Mut left the room, “We will be right back. Tia make sure no one approaches Benjamin, and Benjamin you do the same for Tia and Kebi okay?”
“What do you think they are saying?” He whispered to his sister. She had barely spoken the entirety of the time they were there, and hadn’t left their father’s side. She looked as if the room they had all been in was closing in on her and soon would have no more space to move. Tia couldn’t answer, she knew they were discussing something about the volturi. Something she still did not have all the pieces to. She just shook her head,
“I think…we will find out soon. Maybe we should go find them.” She said this last line as she stared down a few of the Cullens staring at the remaining coven. Benjamin nodded and grabbed Kebi. She was still different, in a daze of sorts but she had become able to separate herself from the house. From Renesme.
“Amun you will tell him, and you will tell him tonight.” The ice in her words matched the surrounding temperature.
 “He is not ready.”
 “There is no more time.”
 “You should not have agreed.”
“I will not turn away from any of our children again. He needs to know that we are not his enemies.”
“That’s your plan? We meet the volturi, tell them we came out of what? Curiosity? and now that they know we don’t intend to fight we want to leave?”
“Gods—” Mut hated arguing with her mate. While a rare occurrence, it was often her raising her voice out of emotion and Amun logically explaining his own reasoning. It was infuriating to not have anything to refute.
Amun gently put his hands on her shoulders, “Neither of them are ready. What happens when he sees Benjamin, Tia. You think it won’t hurt him to see a coven he was never around for?”
 “I just—I miss him.”
 “As do I. But-“
“And Benjamin? Even if we do not go, Benjamin will not allow that child to die. And you know it. He would never do that to her. Do you remember what Tia told us about the younger cousins?” Se tried to continue but they both sensed the others coming in their direction, “We cannot ignore this part of our lives.”
“I am not good with words.”
“Benjamin wants a reason, tell him the truth. He wants it from you. If he has any questions afterwards I will answer them. You made this mistake before. You have regretted it ever since. We would have never been able to change Sekhmet’s mind. But we can change his.”
Tia reached you first, “Are you going to tell him now?”
 “Tell me what.”
Amun sighed, “Lets go hunt Benjamin. There is more to this situation, you need to know.”
Benjamin glanced at Mut who smiled and nodded her head in her husband’s direction. Benjamin followed soundlessly. While Tia slid next to her mother,
“This is about the guy in the volturi right?”
“Yes.” Mut cleared away some trees, and pat a spot next to her for Tia to sit. Kebi looked away, but to avoid looking at her sister. Guilt eating at her as she remembered her own time after Sekhmet never returned. Her treatment of the poor kid. It had only been a few hundred years. But the grief had returned in a wave that seemed to drown them as the newest member at the time had been saved from an uncertain death. Kebi listened to Tia, Tia who was so peacefully unaware of how exactly how much they had lost.
 "What was his name?"
 "Demetri.”
The room was comfortable. If this is where they allowed guests to stay, she was sure his own private room was magnificent. She had held out hope this meeting could avoided. The last thing Mut wanted was to rip open old wounds.
It was foolish of her to think he wouldn’t have found her. To think she could have snuck away. Did she forget how his gift work? Did she truly believe you could forget them so quickly? Had they forgotten him? Demetri tried to remind himself that he was here because they couldn’t be bothered to deal with him. He was unsure what he expected when opened that door, but Mut never disappointed. She refused to turn around, only facing out a window pointing to a garden.
“I guess I am not surprised you found me so quickly. I hoped my scent would have changed enough over the years. Or did you use your gift?”
“A bit of both. Your scent was all over the throne room. My gift does speed things along. Did you really think I’d forget? Are you still so desperate to stay away from me, you couldn’t stay in the throne room?”
Muts body turned faster than Demetri had time to register. The only thing he caught were eyes, the venom pricking her eyes seemed to make her red eyes brighter.  At first she seemed furious, then broken
“You thought we cared for you so little? You really think that? That we wanted you to come here? We’re you dragged from our home?”
“Was I supposed to think otherwise when Chelsea said there were little ties to cut? When the two of you refused to say anything when Aro visited us?”
“Demetri. We said nothing because it was your choice. You alone made the choice to leave.”
“You were eager to let me go. None of you had a single protest.”
Muts eyes widened, “We-we assumed you wanted to leave. You always wanted to get out more, do more with your gift. We could no longer help you. This whole time, you truly believed we abandoned you?”
The hitch in Mut’s voice broke any remaining resolve he had. “Forget it. I should not have said anything—”
“Demetri stop. You did nothing wrong. If we had known we would have begged you to stay. Amun assumed your hesitation was because you felt bad at the desire to leave and he did not want you to feel guilt at making any decision. He was so sure you would choose this life that he—oh gods he is going to hate himself for this. I always thought-- you weren’t bored of our life?”
“No! I— He…wanted me to stay?”
“Of course he did, we both did. We couldnt feed for months. Kebi had to drag some humans into our home after a while.”
The thought of blood being anywhere in that pristine home made the pair of vampires let out an exasperated sort of chuckle, breaking down walls that had taken Demetri centuries to build. But Demetris mood quickly dampened, “If you’re here I assume…”
Muts eyes grew sad, “Yes. We wanted Aro aware to ensure we were not breaking any rules. They are quite young.”
 “They?”
“Two. I did not want you to get the wrong idea. That they could replace you. They cannot. Amun cant seem to turn anyone away.”
 “They are not here?”
“No, they are still young. Their human blood still lingers, makes one too excitable. We were hoping to bring them in a year or so.”
“Whilst I’m away, I assume.” Demetri might as well have stabbed a stake through her heart. He wanted her to argue, to try and reason with him. He wanted to be furious. But Mut seemed ready to accept any judgement he had casted upon her. She stayed silent waiting for him to continue. “Am I wrong?”
“I cannot explain anymore than I already have. I admit there were many faults at our end. I’m sorry our actions caused you so much pain. I make no excuses. I would hope you know us enough that we never meant to make you feel like this.” Mut slowly made her way  towards. Demetri felt himself wanting to take several steps back, yet his feet remained glued to the floor. Unable to admit the yearning he had for his family’s affection. As her hand reached up to cup his cheek his head melted into the physical contact that meant more than any short term attempt of physical connection. His own hand reached up and held hers in place.
“Are you happy here?”
Yes. No. Every fiber in Demetris body fought to try and understand his conflicting emotions. Part of wanting to return with his mother back to the closest thing he had ever felt as stability. This life he had taken on was more often than not bleak. Depressing. Another part felt he owed it to the Volturi to stay. He hesitated wondering how much of that was attributed to Chelsea’s influence. No, he owed his life to some of his coven mates. It was not the same but they were family in their own way.
He pulled away and took a few steps back to regain his composure. Even if he returned to Egypt he would not hesitate to come back if the volturi were in trouble. And separating again would be next to impossible to repair. Three seconds for every thought to run through his mind, and he felt as he had been a statue for years.
“I am.” He finally answered
Mut sadly smiled at her oldest. Heartbreak and pride mixed deep within her. “Then it seems you made the right choice after all.”
They stood in silence for a few seconds. Both delaying the most likely, indefinite goodbye. The knock at the door, caught them both off guard. Demetris face dissociating off of habit.
“Excuse me, Aro has offered to extend the invitation to you coven again.”
Demetri looked over at his mother, assuming she would show some fear at his looming acquaintance. The executioner certainly made most anyone else, squirm. Yet all he saw was sadness,
“Felix, right?”
He slightly bowed, “it is good to see you again Mut.”
“We really should try and meet under better circumstances. Please send my apologies to Aro. My husband will be worried. I should be leaving soon.”
Felix chuckled, nodded again and left. Demetri stood there dumbfounded.
“How do you know Felix?”
“Aro hasn’t told you?” Wonderful he thought, more secrets. He assumed his sires had met Aro after the war the had occurred so long ago. Maybe that’s how they had met Felix. Demetri just shook his head. “I’m not ready to discuss that. But I’m sure if he sees I give him permission he will explain. Best of luck here, Demetri. Its truly beautiful here.”
He was dreading this moment. She came up to him pulled him into an embrace he wish he did not have to let go of. The last trace of his old home released to quickly. Not enough time he thought. She paused at the door, looking back to him one last time,
“You are always welcome to come back to us. If even for a visit. It will always be your home.”
She shut the door behind her. Somehow he knew he wouldn’t be able to see his mother again until centuries later. And when he did...the circumstances were anything but happy.

Evie Volturi wife of Demetri
what if...... When the Cullens left Forks leaving Bella she didn't take it well.
The moment The Cullens and Edward left without a backward glace she know then that they lied to her about beging Edward's mate because if she was really Edward's mate then he wouldn't be able to leave her just as easy as he did.
But luckly her twin sister Evie help her though it all. She was angry they both wore that they dare use them so they were destroying the Cullen house while they were their their four Volturi guards turn up and they are Felix, Jane, Alec and Demetri Volturi who were sent to forks to Check on the Cullen only find two human girls destroying the place and know about Vampire.
The monent Alec and Demetri catch the girls scent they know that they finally found their nate who they been looking for a long time. The Guards brought the Swan twins with them in Italy where they meet the three kings, Aro, Marcus and Caius Volturi.
To comfirm what aro read from the mind of Demetri and Alec he ask his brother Marcus.
"It's true Evie is the mate of Demetri, while her sister Bella is Alec's mate" Marcus said. Which suprise the two human girls since they didn't know they were their mate.
"Well a congrasulation are in order, may I" Aro said while extending his hand to the girls which they gaved their permission.
Aro tried to read the mind of the girls but he is unable to read bella completly while he can read evie but unclear like their mind is protected.
The girls told the kings how they meet the Cullens and how Edward saved them three times and how suck the venom during the beging of their change and kill one of mated pair now their a vampire wanting revenage for her mates death.
It wasn't long after that they were changed by their mate where they burn for 4 days instead of the 3 days it was suppose to. But two sister woke up as a very gifted vampire.
The oldest Bella Swan has the gift of Fertility, and Mental Shield which explain why Aro was unable to read her mind. While the youngest Evie Swan is also a very gifted Vampire she has the gifted of Physical Shield, Fertility, and Pyrokinesis which mean she would be unable to kill by fire by anymeans.
Unlike other newborns they both had great self control that you could hardly tell they are even newborn. The moment the girls catch the mate scent for the first time as a vampire they know then that they are mate. They also gotten use to calling the kings masters like everyone in the castle.
Their first month as a newborn seem to fly by so fast. They both pick up fighting so fast that they were able to take Alec and I so quickly. And both of them are training their gifts to it's limit especially Evie who has the gift to control the power of fire.
The next Five years Evie and Bella has been training with their mates learning what they are capable with their powers and it wasn't long before they got married to their mate and Bella never thought the Cullens again.
The year after Evie & Demetri, Alec & Bella got married they end up having their first born, they had a daughter each.

(Evie and Demetri Volturi's daughter, 1 years old)
Evie and Demetri named their daughter Amore Volturi who they discover have the gift of Storm manipulation and a powerful Mental/Physical Shield which make her powerful as her mother with just her gift alone. As she grew up her father Demeri taught her how to fight he want her to be able to protect herself without the use of her gift which his mate Evie agree with.
Tumblr media
(Amore Volturi 3 years old)
Even though she is only half vampire she could rival the strength, speed, and endurance of a full vampire. Even though she is already powerful with just her gift storm manipulation, and force field her parents still want her to well train so she could defend herself when it's need whether from Humans or Vampire.
Tumblr media
(Amore Volturi 7 years old)
She is her parents pride and joy she know that and she also know that her grandfather & grandmother figure caius and athenodora volturi care a great deal about her as well as they did her mother who is their adopted daughter they never had.
Bella & Alec Volturi named their first daughter, Alexandra Volturi

who look like Bella when we were young she look iddntical to her in everyway except she isn't clumsy as she was when we were human, Alexsandra graceful than bella was when we were human. And like her cousin Amore Volturi she is also a gifted Vampire she has the gift of Shield Penetration, and Electricity Manipulation.
the two hybird grow up fast than normal child by the time they turn 7 years old they look like teenagers. While they are only half vampires they are still powerful that they could riveal full vampires in strength, speed, and endurance.
300 years later....
Edward Cullen has move on after leaving Bella 300 years ago and he finally found his real mate to a newborn Vampire by the name Olivia Claire

(Edward Cullen's newborn mate, Olivia Claire)
and like Bella he was unable to read her mind the Cullen found from Eleazar Denali found that she is a mental Shield which most likely Bella had been a shield had she been turn to a vampire. My family don't just miss Bella they miss Evie especially Emmett who saw Evie as his little sister.
Alice and the Cullens never thought they would ever see the Swan Twins again from afar especially in the throne room espefially not a vampire and a member if the Volturi coven.
During their stay in Italy the Cullen found out that Evie Swan

is the wife and mate of Demetri Volturi and they have a besutiful daughter Amore Volturi which shock them since Vampires couldn't procreate but here is evidence that they could and their daughter mated to the one guy Edward Cullen fear from all Carlisle's friends, Garrett.
Even Bella Swan has a daughter with her own husband who turn out to be Alec Volturi one of the witch twins. Which they doubt they would be able to go near Evie and Bella at all especially with their mate stuck by their side. Each one of their daughter is powerful in their own right.
Bella's own daughter, Alexandra Volturi has yet to find her own mate even after 300 years. Her cousin Amore was lucky to find Garret 10 years after she became an adult.

The Other Swan
Tumblr media
Word Count: 6,033. Demetri x OC Swan. Part one. Warning: Angst and Fluff
March 2006 Daniella and Bella go with Alice to save Edward in Volterra, Italy.
Edward starts to step outside without his shirt on when Bella runs into his arms, asking to him to open his eyes and to go back inside. “I needed to make you see me one last time so you don’t feel guilty. I can let you go now” Bella says to Edward, his hold on her tightens a little as he replies “I love you and I can’t live in a world where you’re not in it.” Edward captures Bella’s lips in a loving kiss as Demetri and Felix enter the hallway and make their way towards them “I won’t be needing your services after all gentlemen” Edward tells them “Still we should take this conversation to a more appropriate venue” Demetri replies. Edward nods and says to Bella “Go and enjoy the festival” “The girl comes with us” Felix says without missing a beat “No. Go to hell” Edward replies.
The large doors burst open as Alice enters with a human close behind her. “Come on gentlemen, you don’t want to cause a scene” Alice states with a smile and removes her sunglasses and scarf. “You wouldn’t” Felix replies. Demetri ignores the conversation between his friend and the female vampire as his eyes focus on the girl standing behind Alice. She has dark blonde wavy hair and light blue eyes. He feels a slight burning in his throat and a strange pull towards her; the need to hold her, protect her and then he realises he is looking at his mate. The mate he had given up all hope of ever finding after 1000 years alone. He feels very protective of her and keeps his hand on her back as they all follow Jane, making their way to the throne room to meet with Aro, Caius and Marcus.
Once in the throne room Demetri keeps the girl next to him with his hand still on her back. Aro takes Edward’s hand seeing his thoughts and the fact that Bella and her sister are immune to his gift. Aro steps back and asks “I’d like to see if Bella & Daniella are immune to my gift too” Demetri tenses slightly at this, keeping her in his line of sight the entire time whilst observing the interaction between Aro, Edward, Bella and Daniella. Aro then states he cannot read Bella or Daniella’s minds, and wonders if they are immune to Jane’s gift too. Jane is frustrated that her gift did not affect Bella and then turns her attention to Daniella.
During Jane’s attempt on his mate Demetri moves closer to her ready to catch her and hold her in his arms should she fall to the floor as Edward had done just moments ago. Aro laughs as he realises both girls appear to be immune to all their gifts. Demetri immediately goes to Daniella and pulls her into his side; protectively wrapping an arm around her waist, quietly purring relieved to have her close again. Daniella felt a little confused that the vampire beside her was holding her so close considering what Edward had them about the Volturi and their disregard for humans.
Edward and Felix then fight as Edward tries to stop Felix from killing Bella. Felix has Edward kneeling on the throne steps with his head in his hands ready to remove it, when Bella cries out “Kill me, kill me, not him, not him” Aro holds his hand up to stop Felix and then looks to Bella “You would give up your life for someone like us, a soulless monster?” “You don’t know a thing about his soul” replies Bella.
After Alice shows Aro her vision of Bella becoming one of them, he then turns his attention to Daniella “What are we going to do with you?” She stiffens in Demetri’s hold and he growls at Aro holding her even closer to him. Marcus recognises the mate bond and calls out “Brother” getting Aro’s attention, before getting up from his throne and offering his hand to Aro. Aro sees Marcus’ thoughts and sees that the girl in Demetri’s arms is indeed Demetri’s mate.
Edward having read Aro’s mind looks back at Daniella and says “I’m sorry.” She looks at Aro and then up at Demetri as his grip tightens slightly around her waist. Demetri leans down and whispers in her ear “Mine” He rests his head on hers, breathing in her scent, as Aro announces the news to everyone in the room. “It would seem that our dear Demetri has finally found his mate.” Daniella gasps in shock and mutters sarcastically “Great. I’m gonna have to learn to say no to you and your ideas Bells” Bella doesn’t say anything, still trying to process the information herself. Edward nods, confirming Aro’s declaration.
Aro explains that Bella, Edward & Alice can leave once evening arrives but that Daniella has to stay with them; she shakes her head “What? No, I-I can’t stay” “You cannot leave my dear, you belong with Demetri” Aro replies smiling at the two of them. “No! She’s just 15” Bella says loudly. “I’m 16 in a few months” Daniella instantly replies, unsure why she said that. “But I need to go home, my family is there, my stuff is there, I-I can’t stay. Please let me go home Aro. I will keep your secret” She replies. “I’m afraid that’s not my decision. You will need to ask Demetri, my dear Daniella” Aro replies looking at Demetri.
She turns to Demetri now with tears in her eyes “Please let me go home to my family. Let me finish high school. You can come visit whenever you want; I could come visit in the holidays? I’ll come back when I’m 18 and finished school. I promise” Demetri looks down at her resting a hand on her cheek and says “I’m sorry cara mia, but I have waited over 1000 years for you, and I cannot let you go. You are my mate and I want you by my side forever” He presses a kiss to her forehead still holding her in his arms.
Demetri leads them out of the throne room and to the reception area, where Daniella says a tearful goodbye to Alice, Edward & Bella. “Look after her Edward” Daniella says to Edward and he replies “I will, I promise. Look after her Demetri” He nods at Daniella. Demetri nods in response “I will” He wraps an arm around her waist once again.
Demetri takes Daniella to his quarters “You cannot leave this room without me or a guard escorting you. The same goes for leaving the castle. I’ll be back later” He tells her before leaving to return to the throne room to feed. She just stands there at the window beside the balcony doors overlooking the garden with tears running down her face. After a while she goes to into the en-suite bathroom to wash her face, eyes now red from crying. She then goes into Demetri’s walk-in closet, amazed at the size of it and picks a black shirt to wear to bed as she has nothing with her but a small backpack.
Demetri comes back to the room seeing her walk from the closet in just his shirt. She blushes slightly before speaking to him “H-hope you don’t mind…but I needed something to sleep in” Demetri nods and replies “I’ll take you shopping tomorrow. Good night cara mia” “Aren’t you staying?” She says in a low voice “No. Do you need anything before I go?” He asks “No” is her only reply before he watches her climb into his bed and lay facing the window, more tears falling down her cheeks. The door closes softly behind him. “Felix, keep an eye on her. Please” Felix just nods and stands by the door in the hallway.
Sometime later she hears the door open and a voice say “Here, I got you a glass of water. If you need anything else, I’ll just be outside the door” She turns over to see Felix placing the glass on the bedside table and mutters “Thank you” Before seeing him leave the room.
In the morning, Demetri comes into his room and gently wakes her up and hands her some toast and a glass of fruit juice. “Morning, once you’ve had breakfast get changed and then we can leave” She nodded “Thank you for breakfast” She watches as Demetri went into his closet to get some jeans and a shirt before entering the bathroom to get ready. Demetri leaves the bathroom and takes a seat on one of the sofas picking up a book from the coffee table and began to read.
Daniella ate her toast and drank her juice, then went into the bathroom to get washed and ready. She put the jeans and strappy top on from the day before and exits the bathroom seeing Demetri still sitting on one of the sofas. “Do you mind if I borrow a shirt please?” She asked quietly. Demetri nodded and got up and walked to his closet and handed her a shirt “Here” “Thank you” She replied and put on the shirt, tying it at her waist. Demetri smiled liking how she looked in his shirt. She noticed that his eyes were no longer red, in fact they were a shade of blue and she guessed he was wearing contacts so he’d blend in with the humans. “Ready Daniella?” “Danni” She said softly “Sorry?” He asks “I prefer Danni” She replies. “Danni it is” He smiled at her.
Demetri placed one hand on her back and guided her to the underground garage and over to his car. Demetri opened the passenger door of his black Lamborghini and Danni climbed in thanking him as she did so. He then made his way around to the driver’s side and climbed in. They sat in silence whilst Danni looked out the window at the passing landscape. The weather was warm despite light clouds in the sky.
Demetri parked the car in the mall carpark and got out of the car and made his way around to the passenger side and opened the door for Danni, holding out his hand to help her out of the car. “Thank you” Demetri smiled at her and took her warm hand in his cold one and started to walk towards the mall entrance, liking how her hand felt and fit within his own.
As they approached the first shop Danni said “I won’t take long, I don’t have a lot of cash with me so I’ll just get a few things” Demetri looked down at her and replied “Today is on me, after all I am the reason you are staying here without your things” He smiled at her and Danni went to refuse his offer when he spoke again “I’m your mate and I said I’d look after you and I will” He kissed her hair and Danni nodded, blushing and taking her bottom lip between her teeth whilst looking up at him through her lashes. Demetri smiled at her reaction thinking to himself how beautiful she looked in this moment.
They entered the first shop and started to look around. Demetri picked out a blue sleeveless dress and silver sandals thinking how nice Danni would look in them when he took her out for their first date. Danni meanwhile had picked out a few vest tops, some t-shirts, 2 shirts and some other tops. Demetri led Danni to the changing rooms and handed her the dress and sandals. “Here, try these on please.” Danni tried them on staring in the mirror and she had to admit Demetri had great taste. She slowly stepped out of the cubicle and Demetri instantly looked her up and down before complimenting her “Stunning, the blue really brings out your eyes” Danni blushed again “Thank you” She replied before returning to the cubicle to change.
Demetri paid for the clothes thanking the sales lady and took Danni’s hand again leading her out of the shop. They entered another clothes shop where Danni picked out some jeans and a pair of flat shoes. Demetri bought himself a new a pair of black trousers and a smart jacket. He also picked out a black waist length jacket for Danni.
Demetri took Danni to a coffee shop and she ordered a vanilla latte and a piece of lemon drizzle cake. Once Danni sat down Demetri spoke “I’m going to take these bags back to the car and I’ll be straight back. Stay here, please” She nodded in response. Demetri bent down slightly, inhaling her scent and smiled to himself. He returned less than 10 minutes later and took a seat opposite her. Once Danni had finished they got to up to leave, Demetri taking her hand in his again.
“Demetri” Danni said quietly, “Do you mind if I go in here and buy some underwear” She pointed at Boux Avenue. Demetri smiled at her “Of course not, come on” He led her into the shop and Danni pulled her hand from Demetri’s and started to look at the lingerie. He followed behind her, making a mental note of the size and style of underwear she went for. Danni picked out two white bras, two black and a navy one to go with the dress, before picking out matching lace shorts. She then noticed a cerise pink set hanging up next to a peach set. She added a set of each to her bag. Demetri couldn’t help smiling to himself, imagining how good his mate would look in the underwear she had picked. Danni found the pyjama section and picked out a short and vest top set with a picture of vampire fangs on it with the words “Bite me” Danni let out a small chuckle and added them to the bag. She then picked out two more sets of short pyjamas and two sets of long pyjamas. Demetri paid for the underwear and pyjamas and then took Danni’s hand back in his and led her to a shop where she could buy toiletries, he picked up some items for himself too.
Demetri led Danni back to the car and held the door open for her, she looked up at him and smiled. Once Demetri was in the car Danni turned to him “Thank you for today and for buying me clothes, I appreciate it” “You are very welcome cara mia” He replied with a smile “A perk of working for the Volturi and being around for over 1000 years, the money just adds up over time.”
Once back at the castle, Demetri escorts Danni back to his quarters and places the bags in the walk-in closet and tells her the left side is all hers. He hangs his purchases up inside the wardrobe. “I’ll get you something to eat from the kitchen whilst you unpack” Danni just nods and looks at the left side of the room, thinking to herself that she is unlikely to ever the fill the closet space he has given her.
Demetri returns ten minutes later with a bowl of pasta “Gianna cooked enough for you too, hope you like it” “Thank you, it’s delicious” Danni replies after trying some. Once she had finished her pasta, she gets up and makes her way to the closet getting a pair of pyjamas before heading for the bathroom “I’m going for a shower” Danni says quietly, not wanting to disturb Demetri too much as he was reading his book from earlier.
Danni showers and washes her hair before getting dried and putting on the pyjamas with the vampire fangs and the slogan “Bite me.” She plaits her hair and steps out of the bathroom. Demetri looks up as the scent of Danni’s coconut shampoo hits his nose and fills the room. Danni makes her way towards the seating area and Demetri cannot help but chuckle at Danni’s pyjamas. “Nice pyjamas” He tells her “Thank you, I saw them and couldn’t resist” She giggled “That could be seen as an invitation you know” Demetri smirked and winked at her, hoping she would know he was joking with her. Danni smiled at him and looked over to the bookcase behind him. “May I read one of your books, please?” She asked “Of course. They are yours now too” They sat across from each other on the sofas with the fireplace crackling low warming the room. Danni soon fell asleep whilst reading her book and Demetri gently picked her up and put her in his bed and pulled the duvet over her, before leaning down and placing a kiss on her hair “Goodnight Danni” He whispered. He then returned to the sofa and picked up his book and continued to read whilst she slept.
Danni awoke in the morning to find Demetri still sitting on the sofa, but he was reading a different book. He looked up when he heard Danni get up from the bed and make her way to the bathroom. She came out a few minutes later and noticed Demetri had left the room. Danni sat on the sofa and picked up her book from the night before and began reading it again, just then the door opened and Demetri came in holding a tray with a plate of toast and a glass of juice. He set the tray down on the coffee table “Morning Danni, I am on guard duty today so please stay in this room. Gianna will bring you lunch and dinner and I will be back this evening.” “Ok, have a good day” Danni replied. Demetri nodded and left the room.
Danni spent the morning on the sofa reading until Gianna knocked and entered the room with a tray “Hi Danni, I’m Gianna, I have bought you some lunch” “Hi Gianna, thank you so much” After lunch Danni got a new book from the bookcase and took a seat on the balcony to read whilst enjoying the sun. At 6pm Gianna knocks on the door and enters with a different tray. “Danni, I’ve bought your dinner” “Thank you” Danni ate her dinner on the balcony and continued to read.
Demetri returned around 8pm and noticed Danni wasn’t in the room or on the balcony, although the doors were open. He closed his eyes and tried to reach out to her, feel the tenor of her mind, before realising he can’t sense her. Then it hits him, her scent strawberries and vanilla with a hint of champagne. Looking to the bathroom door he smiled to himself, relaxing knowing she was in the bathroom, safe. He loved the way she smelt, his mate, his human mate, who he would love and protect no matter what.
Demetri closed the balcony doors and lit the fireplace, then laid down on the sofa facing the bed and began reading waiting for Danni to finish in the bathroom. Danni came out of the bathroom and made her way to the sofa facing the fireplace and sat down “How was your day?” She asked “It was good, thank you. How was your day?” He replied. Danni smiled “It was ok; I read most of the day, in here until lunch and then sat on the balcony this afternoon. Gianna seems nice too.” Demetri nodded and said “She is the only other human in the castle. It might nice if you had lunch together sometime, become friends even” Danni smiled at him “That’d be nice.”
Danni had been in the castle for a week and she was getting used to her new routine. She had helped Gianna the previous afternoon on reception and had enjoyed doing so.
Danni woke to find Demetri was not in the room, but soon the door opened and Gianna entered holding a tray with a plate of pancakes and some juice. “Morning, Danni. Demetri sends his apologies, but he was called to the throne room early this morning. He has had to leave the castle on business and won’t be back until tomorrow. I thought we could have dinner together tonight if you’d like” “A change of scenery would be nice. Thank you for bringing me breakfast” Danni replied “You’re most welcome.”
Later that day around 6pm, Gianna comes and collects Danni and takes her to the kitchen where they cook dinner together and get to know one another. Around 8pm Gianna walks Danni back to Demetri’s room and bids her goodnight. Danni gets a book from the bookcase and climbs into bed to read, before falling asleep a few hours later.
Demetri returns to the castle the following morning and heads to the throne room for the trial of the rogue vampires he, Felix, Jane and Alec bought back to the castle. Once the leaders had passed their judgement, he and Felix made quick work of ripping them apart and burning the bodies. Demetri then made his way to his quarters, needing to see Danni and to take a shower following the events of the last twenty-four hours.
When he entered his room he noticed Danni was lying on her stomach on the bed facing away from the door reading. “Afternoon cara mia, I hope you have been ok in my absence. My apologies, I couldn’t say goodbye before I left” “Afternoon, that’s ok. Gianna explained you had business to attend to outside of the castle. I stayed in the room except for dinner last night, which I ate in the kitchen with Gianna. How was your trip?” She asked “Eventful” Demetri replied pinching the bridge of his nose with his fingers, whilst walking into his closet.
Danni got off the bed and made her way to the en-suite and began to run a bath. The running water and the scent of lavender and camomile coming from the bathroom got Demetri’s attention. ‘So much for a shower’ he thought to himself. Danni came to stand in the doorway of the closet “Demetri” She said softly gaining his attention. He liked hearing his name come from her lips. “Hmm” He responded “I’m running you a bath; it should help you relax” She turned and went back into the bathroom. Demetri couldn’t help smiling to himself at the thoughtfulness of his mate.
“I would have lit some candles but you don’t appear to have any. Do you have a phone?” Danni said as Demetri appeared in the bathroom doorway “It’s ok about the candles” He chuckled “Yes, I have a phone, why?” “If you don’t mind, can I borrow it a second?” He entered the passcode and handed her his phone. He watched as she seemed to be searching for something, and then he heard soft music playing and looked at her surprised. “I downloaded a music app on your phone, so you can listen to soft music whilst you relax in the tub” She smiled at him “Thank you” He nodded. “You’re welcome, I hope it helps you relax.” With that Danni left the bathroom and closed the door behind her. Demetri laid in the bath feeling the hot water relax his tired muscles whilst listening to the soft music. ‘I could get used to this’, he thought to himself. It had been a while since he actually used the bath, normally opting for a long hot shower after long or stressful missions.
After a good soak he got out of the bath and dressed in some lounge pants and a t-shirt and made his way back into the bedroom to find Danni lying on the sofa facing the fireplace reading. “Feeling relaxed?” She asked. “Much, thank you” He replied. “I know you don’t sleep but I have closed the curtains and put your book on the nightstand” He nodded and made his way to the bed and got comfortable “Join me? Please” He asked, looking at Danni. She slowly got up and made her way to the bed and climbed on beside him. They lay beside each other reading, her steady breathing and heartbeat soothing him.
Danni looked to her left to find Demetri had put his book on the nightstand and had laid down with eyes closed. If she didn’t know any better she’d say he was sleeping. Demetri felt her shift on her side of the bed and opened one eye to see Danni was now lying beside him with her eyes closed facing him. He turned on his side to face her and watched her for a minute before closing his eyes again. Although he knew he couldn’t sleep, laying this way next to her relaxed him and he couldn’t remember the last time he felt this relaxed.
A little while later he felt like he was being watched and opened his eyes to see Danni’s beautiful blue eyes looking at back at him. “Sorry, didn’t mean to disturb you. You looked peaceful; almost like you were sleeping” She said quietly “You didn’t disturb me Danni, in fact I’m feeling rather relaxed thanks to you.” Danni smiled at him and he noticed the slight blush that coloured her cheeks.
Over dinner later that evening Demetri answered Danni’s questions about the Volturi and the position he held in the castle. She found the idea of his gift interesting and he was more than happy to discuss it with her and explain how it worked. “I’m a tracker. I pick up on the essence of someone’s mind and can follow it like a scent over any distance. To be able to do this I have to either have met that person physically or anyone who has met the person in the past” “Will you show me how it works one day?” She asked smiling “Of course I will. We can play hide and seek, although I must confess, I usually win.” Danni laughed “I bet, but I think I could hide from you…for a bit anyways. I always beat Bella and our friends at hide and seek” Demetri smiled liking the idea of a challenge, if only a small one. “How old were you when you were turned?” “I was 21 at the time” He responded “Wow! You look good for your age Demetri. I mean you’ve been around for over 1000 years, if I remember correctly?” “Yes, I have and thank you” He chuckled, if vampires could blush his cheeks would definitely be rosy.
Demetri became intrigued when she talked about the vampires in one of her favourite TV shows ‘The Vampire Diaries’, finding it funny that they couldn’t go out in the sun without a ring and that there were veggie vampires in the show. Danni became curious when he pointed out that vampires can go out in the sun, but don’t because they would expose themselves to humans. He promised to show her what he meant the next time it’s sunny and he has time off.
The following morning whilst Danni was eating breakfast Demetri caught her by surprise when he asked “How would you like to go on a date with me tonight?” “You mean leave the castle for the evening?” She asked a little excited at the thought of leaving the castle, if only for a bit. “Yes, I believe that’s how a date works” He chuckled lightly “I’d like that Demi, thank you” He smiled at the nickname and was happy that she agreed to go out with him. “I’ll have Heidi come and help you get ready. Please wear the blue dress and silver sandals I bought you” She smiled and nodded “Will do.”
Demetri left the room to organise things for his and Danni’s date. First stop was Heidi’s room; he knocked on the door and waited for her to answer. “Come in” Demetri entered her room “Heidi? I need a favour” “In here” She called from the bathroom “How can I help?” Demetri took a seat on one of the sofas and waited for Heidi to come out. “I’m taking Danni on a date tonight and I was hoping you might help her get ready. I bought her a blue dress and silver sandals especially” Heidi smiled at him “Of course, leave it with me” Demetri thanked her and left the room to prepare for his date with Danni.
He booked a table for two at an Italian restaurant and bought a bouquet of red roses. He removed the thorns so Danni couldn’t cut herself. He planned on taking her dancing after dinner. He returned to the castle and went to Felix’s room to get ready, having put his new black trousers, navy shirt and new black jacket in there before he left the castle that morning.
Meanwhile, Heidi arrived at Demetri’s room and knocked before opening the door “Danni? It’s Heidi” “Hello” She replied as she walked in from the balcony, closing the door behind her. “Demetri asked me to help you get ready for tonight. So, the first thing to do is to have a nice bubble bath to relax” Heidi went into the bathroom and started to run a bath. Once ready she called Danni into the bathroom “Get in and I’ll wash your hair.” Danni did as Heidi said before letting Heidi wash her hair. Heidi then held up a towel for Danni and once dried Danni put on a robe and sat on the chair that Heidi had bought into the bathroom. Heidi then started drying Danni’s hair before tying the front back so she could start on her make-up. Once Heidi had finished Danni looked in the mirror to see Heidi had created a smoky eye look using different blue and grey eyeshadows. Danni’s lips were now a rosy pink with a shimmer. Heidi then began to curl Danni’s hair and pulled the front back and secured it with a silver clip.
Heidi then led Danni into the walk-in closet and handed her the navy-blue lingerie set and got the navy dress and silver sandals from the closet. Once dressed Heidi led her to the full-length mirror “What do you think?” “Wow, thank you” Danni replied with a smile, a little shocked at her appearance “You’re welcome sweetie. You’ll take Demetri’s breath away” Heidi said and Danni just blushed.
Just then there was a knock on the door. “Speak of the vampire” Heidi said with a smile “Come in” Demetri opened the door to his room and stepped inside, after a few seconds Heidi led Danni out of the closet and into the room. “You look stunning” He said looking at her, Danni blushed and looked down taking her bottom lip between her teeth “That dress really does bring out your eyes cara” Demetri said, stepping forward and taking Danni’s hand in his and placing a kiss to the back of her hand. “Here these are for you” He handed her the bouquet of roses “Thank you Demi, they’re beautiful. You scrub up well by the way” Danni said smiling although she was nervous about her date. Demetri chuckled “Ready?” “Yes” She replied. “Here, I’ll take those and put them in water for you” Heidi said, taking the roses from Danni “Thank you for today Heidi” “My pleasure. Enjoy your night” Heidi replied smiling and watched as they left the room.
Demetri held Danni’s hand and led her to the garage. He held open the car door and helped into the passenger seat before climbing into the driver’s seat. He drove them to an Italian restaurant about 30 minutes outside of Volterra.
Demetri took Danni’s hand in his and led her into the restaurant where they were seated at a table at the back of the restaurant. They were the only ones in this section. A waiter came over and introduced himself “My name is Mario and I’ll be your waiter tonight. Ready to order?” “Chicken Ravioli please” Danni replied “And for you sir?” “The same please” Demetri replied “Ok, and drinks?” Mario answered “Lemonade please” Danni replied “Same” Demetri said “Of course, I’ll be back shortly.”
“I thought vampires didn’t eat human food” Danni spoke softly leaning over the table slightly “We can eat human food, but it tastes like dirt and we have to bring it back up later as our bodies cannot process it” He responded quietly “Oh, ok. You didn’t have to do this Dem, I don’t want you to be uncomfortable because of me” She said and Demetri nodded “It’s our first date cara mia, I wasn’t going to sit here and watch you eat as that would likely draw attention to us, and no doubt make you uncomfortable” He replied “Thank you Demi, that’s very considerate of you” She smiled at him, how he loved her smile.
The waiter returned with their drinks and ten minutes later bought out their dinner. “Thank you” They both said together. “Mmm, this is nice” Danni says after tasting her meal, looking up at Demetri as he takes a mouthful of Ravioli trying not to show his disgust. Danni giggled quietly, causing him to look up at her “Sorry” She mouthed. Once they have finished their mains Mario came to collect their plates “Dessert?” “Tiramisu please, with two spoons. Thank you” Danni replied and Mario nodded “Of course.” Demetri looked at her confused, an eyebrow raised. “I figured if we ‘share’ a dessert it’s less food for you to have to deal with later” Danni answered as if she knew what he was going to ask “That’s very considerate of you, thank you” Demetri said smiling.
After Demetri had paid the bill, he led her down the street to a dance hall. When they entered Danni saw couples dancing and drinking and felt nervous again. Demetri took Danni’s hand and led her to the dance floor “I’m not too good at dancing” Danni said quietly “Don’t worry I’ve got you, just follow my lead” Demetri responded. Danni smiled and nodded as Demetri proceeded to lead Danni through various routines, Ballroom, Latin, Salsa and Swing. After an hour or so Demetri and Danni left the dance hall and made their way back to the car. Once they were in the car Danni spoke first “Thank you for tonight, I had fun” “You’re welcome darling and so did I” Demetri responded with a smile.
Once back at castle they made their way back to their room and Danni went into the closet to get changed into her pyjamas, “Demi, can you please unzip my dress?” She called out when she realised she couldn’t fully unzip the dress by herself. “Of course” He replied and unzipped her dress, his cold fingers lightly brushing down her back in the process. He then took out a pair of lounge pants and a t-shirt and went into the bathroom to get changed. Once Danni was in her pyjamas she knocked on the door “Are you ok?” Demetri knew what and why she was asking “I’m ok, I’ll be out shortly” “Ok” She replied and made her way over to the seating area to wait for him.
Once ready he went and took a seat on the sofa next to Danni “Here let me” He gently took the book from her and begun to read aloud to her. Danni shifted closer to him and took the blanket from the back of the sofa and placed it over the two of them, whilst listening to Demetri read to her. He smiled at her actions and continued to read aloud until he noticed that her breathing had slowed and she had fallen asleep, her head resting on his arm. He closed the book and gently lifted her up and carried her to the bed. He pulled the duvet back and carefully laid her down before placing the duvet over her. He looked down at her and gently kissed her forehead before whispering “Goodnight mi amore.” He then went back to the sofa and began reading, although he wasn’t fully focused on the book as he found himself thinking about his evening with Danni and how much he’d like to take her out again and soon.

24. TRUTH
Edward growled, undoubtedly having heard Aro’s silent words. He glared at me, his golden eyes holding a mixture of fury and curiosity. I knew where the rage came from, and I assumed he was curious about my ability.
I turned and pressed a soft kiss to Alec’s cheek before I stepped forward to join the others. Demetri moved aside to allow me to stand beside Aro.
Edward growled again, which made a growl rise in Bella’s throat. Behind me, I heard Alec and Jane both hiss furiously at them. I smirked slightly, my heart swelling with love at how protective my mate and his sister were over me.
“Renesmee, do you recognize who this is?” Aro asked.
I lowered the hood of my cloak and she looked up at me. The little girl said, “She’s my aunt, Eve.”
Smiling at her, I knelt down so that we were eye-to-eye.
“Hello, Renesmee,” I greeted. She leaned forward to press her hand to my cheek, but I smiled and said, “No need for that, little one. I can hear your thoughts without your touch. You told Aro that I was taken by the Volturi. Why would you say that?”
Renesmee replied to me in her thoughts. Luckily, I had already linked her mind to my own. I also added Aro and Alec to the link. I wanted them to know exactly what Renesmee would say.
‘My mother told me they stole you from your bed in the middle of the night while her and Grandpa were sleeping. She said that Alec is obsessed with you and he took you when you told him that you didn’t want to be with him. And when he took you, they had someone use their power to create a bond between you and Alec, and everyone else in the Volturi, too.’
My eyes snapped up to Bella and my lip curled in a snarl. How dare she accuse Alec of kidnapping me? How dare she accuse the Volturi of using Chelsea to force a fake bond between me and my own mate? She was the only one who had ever manipulated me.
I looked back at Renesmee, smoothing my face back into a calm expression. A smirk curled on my lips and I offered, “Do you want to see what really happened?”
The young girl hesitated, then nodded. Aro reached out to me and I took his hand, using him to show Renesmee my memories through the mindlink.
I showed her how I first met Alec in Volterra — how my world stopped when our eyes met, how he had pulled me into his arms when he thought I was in danger, and how nervous I was, but how I still felt entirely safe in his arms.
I showed her how her mother and her father attempted to keep me from Alec — how they manipulated me and my love for my father into doing what they wanted me to do.
I showed her how miserable I was being away from Alec — how I just stayed in bed all day, crying myself to sleep every night.
I showed her how Alec had come to check on me — how he saw me sobbing and how he just couldn’t leave me like that, how he pulled me into his arms and just held me while I slept, how he asked me in the morning to come to Volterra, how he waited for me to make my mind.
“Do you see, little one?” I asked softly, pulling my hand away from Aro’s. “It was my choice to leave with Alec. I went with him because I just couldn’t stand to be away from him any longer. No one forced me to go with him. I left because I love him, and he loves me. . . . Your mother and father were the only ones who tried to force me to do anything, and they wanted me to stay away from him.”
Bella and Edward snarled, but Alec and Jane growled viciously back at them. I ignored them all and continued to speak to Renesmee.
“Your parents and the Cullens have broken one of our most important laws. Your father allowed a human — your mother — to know about vampires without ever intending to change her. And now, they have created you — something that has never existed before,” I said. “We believed you to be an immortal child, but even now that we know that is not what you are, we still do not know what you will become or if you will be able to follow our laws, especially since your family seems to have such little regard for them. . . . Do you understand, Renesmee? We only came here to seek justice.”
‘I understand,’ she said through the mindlink. ‘I’m sorry that I believed them when they said the Volturi took you.’
I laughed softly. “It is perfectly alright, Renesmee. Of course you trusted that what your parents told you was the truth. I’m just glad that you know what really happened now.”
I stood and returned to Alec’s side, not missing the proud smile that Aro sent me. Alec took my hand when I reached him. He pressed a kiss to my forehead.
‘You were incredible,’ Alec murmured in our personal mindlink. ‘You were very gentle with her, but you spoke the truth. I can’t believe they told her I kidnapped you.’
‘I’m not shocked at anything they do at this point. They just wanted to scare their daughter into thinking the Volturi are evil.’
I focused back on Aro as he began to speak again.
“So much to discuss, so much to decide. If you and your furry protector will excuse me, my dear Cullens, I must confer with my brothers.”
Aro waved the guard forward. As we began to advance, Edward pulled his family back towards their own ground. It took the guard mere seconds to surround Aro and the others.
“How can you abide this infamy?” Caius asked incredulously. “Why do we stand here impotently in the face of such an outrageous crime, covered by such a ridiculous deception?”
“Because it’s all true. Every word of it,” Aro said. He looked at me and I confirmed his words with a nod, which seemed to annoy Caius. “Brother, see how many witnesses stand ready to give evidence that they have seen this miraculous child grow and mature in just the short time they’ve known her. That they have felt the warmth of the blood that pulses in her veins.”
Caius was silent, deliberating for a moment before he said, “The werewolves.”
“Ah, brother. . . .”
“Will you defend that alliance, too, Aro? The Children of the Moon have been our bitter enemies from the dawn of time. We have hunted them to near extinction in Europe and Asia. Yet Carlisle encourages a familiar relationship with this enormous infestation — no doubt in an attempt to overthrow us. The better to protect his warped lifestyle.”
Edward cleared his throat loudly, drawing Caius’s focus to him. The blond king threw an angry glare at him while Aro rubbed a hand over his face, clearly frustrated.
“Caius, it’s the middle of the day,” Edward said. “These are not Children of the Moon, clearly. They bear no relation to your enemies on the other side of the world.”
Caius spat, “You breed mutants here.”
“They aren’t even werewolves. Aro can tell you all about it if you don’t believe me.”
“Dear Caius, I would have warned you not to press this point if you had told me your thoughts,” Aro said. “Though the creatures think of themselves as werewolves, they are not. The more accurate name for them would be shape-shifters. The choice of a wolf form was purely chance. It could have been a bear or a hawk or a panther when the first change was made. These creatures truly have nothing to do with the Children of the Moon. They have merely inherited this skill from their fathers. It’s genetic — they do not continue their species by infecting others the way true werewolves do.”
“They know our secret,” Caius said.
Aro replied, “They are creatures of our supernatural world, brother. Perhaps even more dependent upon secrecy than we are. They can hardly expose us. Carefully, Caius. Specious allegations get us nowhere.”
In his mindlink with the other king’s, Aro hissed at Caius, ‘If we continue to accuse them of every crime under the sun, then our witnesses will believe that we are trying to find any fault with them simply to justify destroying them. We must be careful, brother. I have a plan, if you will allow me to conduct it.’
Caius was silent, but he gave a small nod. Aro then turned towards the Cullens.
“Just to be thorough, I’d like to speak with a few of your witnesses. Procedure, you know.”
Edward hissed and several of the Cullens stiffened at his words. Aro drifted towards them, ignoring their reactions. He stopped a few yards from what seemed to be a mated couple that were standing at the very edge of the group.
Aro spoke to the man, Amun, who told him that the child was biologically Edward and Bella’s daughter, that she grows with each passing day, and that she learns new information. Aro seemed focused on the fact that the girl grows so quickly. Amun admitted that he saw no danger in her because she is able to learn, unlike typical immortal children.
The man and his mate quickly left the clearing, with Aro’s permission. He then turned to another vampire on the Cullen’s side to ask for her opinion of the child.
“She’s no danger to humans,” Siobhan said. “She blends in better than we do. She poses no threat of exposure.”
“Can you think of none?” Aro asked her, causing Edward to growl.
The woman replied, “I don’t think I follow you.”
Aro drifted back towards us. Renara, Felix, and Demetri trailed him like a shadow.
“There is no broken law,” Aro announced. “No broken law. However, does it follow then that there is no danger? No. That is a separate issue.”
He began to pace, slowly moving closer and closer to the line of guards.
“She is unique . . . utterly, impossibly unique. Such a waste it would be, to destroy something so lovely. Especially when we could learn so much. . . . But there is danger, danger that cannot simply be ignored. How ironic it is that as the humans advance, as their faith in science grows and controls their world, the more free we are from discovery. Yet, as we become more uninhibited by their disbelief in the supernatural, they become strong enough in their technologies that, if they wished, they could actually pose a threat to us, even destroy some of us.
“For thousands and thousands of years, our secrecy has been more a matter of convenience, of ease, than of actual safety. This last raw, angry century has given birth to weapons of such power that they endanger even immortals. Now our status as mere myth in truth protects us from these weak creatures we hunt.
“This amazing child, if we could know her potential — know with absolute certainty that she could always remain shrouded within the obscurity that protects us. But we know nothing of what she will become! Her own parents are plagued by fears of her future. We cannot know what she will grow to be.”
He turned, looking at the witnesses that we had gathered. Aro said, “Only the known is safe. Only the known is tolerable. The unknown is . . . a vulnerability.”
“You’re reaching, Aro,” Carlisle said in a bleak, anxious voice.
“Peace, friend,” Aro said with a smile. “Let us not be hasty. Let us look at this from every side.”
One of the nomads on the Cullen’s side stepped forward to offer his opinion. Aro let him speak his mind. He spoke of how Carlisle had asked him to witness the trial, but that he had come to witness the Volturi. He claimed that we did not come to execute justice, but rather, we used this reported crime as a reason to destroy the Cullens. He claimed that the Volturi saw them as competition to their power because they are a family, rather than just a coven.
Anger seared through the mindlink of all the guards and even our leaders. This I allowed to fester, since I could not contain my own anger at the man’s words. We were a family — a mismatched, slightly dysfunctional one — but a family nonetheless. We cared for each other and protected each other and loved each other.
“Some of us wondered if Carlisle having truth on his side would be enough to stop the so-called justice,” the nomad continued. “Are the Volturi here to protect the safety of our secrecy, or to protect their own power? Did they come to destroy an illegal creation, or a way of life? Their guard is just a mindless weapon, a tool in their masters’ quest for domination.
Once again, the mindlink ignited with annoyed and insulted grumbles from the guard, though no one actually voiced their frustration. We were far from mindless, and we resented being thought of as just ‘tools’ to be used.
Finally, the nomad looked towards our witnesses and goaded, “You might consider joining us. If you think the Volturi will let you live to tell this tale, you are mistaken. We may all be destroyed, but then again, maybe not. Perhaps we are on more equal footing than they know. Perhaps the Volturi have finally met their match.”
Aro simply smiled at the man. “A very pretty speech, my revolutionary friend.”
“Revolutionary?” the nomad snarled. “Who am I revolting against, might I ask? Are you my king? Do you wish me to call you master, too, like your sycophantic guard?”
“Peace, Garrett,” Aro said patiently. “I meant only to refer to your time of birth. Still a patriot, I see.”
He turned to face our witnesses. He said, “What do you think of all this, friends? I can assure you the child is not what we feared. But we must decide if we take the risk and let the child live. Do we put our world in jeopardy to preserve their family intact? Or does earnest Garrett have the right of it? Any of you may go in peace as Amun did. You are here because you agreed to witness. That is all we have asked of you, and all we will ask of you.”
A few of the witnesses nodded and began to leave the clearing. Once they were gone, Aro inclined his head to those who had remained — which was nearly all of them — before he turned back to the guard.
“We are outnumbered, dearest ones,” Aro said, his voice clear and strong. “We can expect no outside help. Should we leave this question undecided to save ourselves?”
“No, master,” we said in a single, united voice.
“Is the protection of our world worth perhaps the loss of some of our number?”
“Yes,” we said. Santiago added, “We are not afraid.”
Aro smiled, then turned towards Caius and Marcus.
“Brothers, there is much to consider here.”
“Let us counsel,” Caius and Marcus said together. They joined hands and stood together in a small group, facing each other and speaking near silently so that no one else could hear them.
Alec took my hand in his, linking our fingers together. We looked at each other to share a love-filled look.
‘I love you, my sweet Eve. I do not know how this will end, but I will do everything in my power to protect you,’ Alec said in our private mindlink.
‘We will survive,’ I replied confidently. ‘I refuse to leave this world without having spent at least a year with you. I love you, Alec.’
He squeezed my hand tightly and we shared a small smile. Then, Aro spoke through the guard’s mindlink.
‘Prepare yourselves, my dear ones.’

Meeting His Soulmate
Word Count: 3099 | Pairing: Caius Volturi x OC (Bella's twin sister) | Genre: Fluff
Summary: After the failed attempt of ending the Cullens once and for all, Caius wanders around Port Angeles and meets someone he didn't expect to meet in his eternal life.
A/N: This is my first time writing here on Tumblr outside of Kpop so please be easy on me🙈 It's been a while since I've written outside of Kpop...
Tumblr media
He hated this place. It was raining all the time, filled with polluted air with the sound of intoxicated humans and their loudness. His lips curled into a sneer as he had to stay in the area while waiting for their private jet to be ready for takeoff.
This was ridiculous because it should be expected by now to prepare these things beforehand. He did not want to stay longer in this place after a failed attempt to get rid of the Cullens and their hybrid child.
“Brother,” Aro’s voice interrupted his loathing thoughts, “why don't you go out and have a quick snack? I'm sure by the time you return, we'll be ready to leave.”
“Eat here in this disgusting place?” Caius scoffed, motioning to Port Angeles with a flick of his wrist. “I don't want to risk getting whatever disease these humans here have.”
“Either way!” Aro waved off, “Have a little browse, your loathing is extending to us and I don't want to be feeling this after our exciting meeting with our dear Cullens.”
With a small snarl of annoyance, Caius flitted away from the coven, Demetri and Felix trailing behind their king.
Port Angeles was small, there was nothing to pique the Volturi King's interest other than solidifying his impression of humans in this century as being loud, disgusting, and polluted.
As he was about to flit down another street, his enhanced hearing picked up on the sound of two people in a scuffle. Since there wasn't any battle with the Cullens, he might as well witness a downgraded battle between two humans.
He hid in the darkness of an empty alleyway, across from the one with two people in a scuffle. His eyes zeroed in on the humans, noting it was an older man harassing a young woman. “Let go of me!” the woman hissed, fighting with all her might against the man.
“Why don't you just be a good girl and be still!” The disgusting excuse of a man grunted, trying to hold down her hands.
Caius was not impressed with the sight.
“Master,” Demetri called from a distance, “do you want us to detain them?”
“Why not,” he drawled nonchalantly. “This is the most interesting thing to happen in a while. We can end it, unlike the Cullens.” At his consent, Demetri and Felix were a blur going past the king, easily separating the humans and holding their arms behind their backs to await Caius' orders.
Caius casually strolled to the opposite alleyway, eyes glinting with sadistic glee as he could almost taste the fear from the humans. He strode to the male human, eyeing him from head to toe. The man was filthy, reeking of alcohol and whatever junk food he ate. He stared at Caius with fear, struggling with all his might to escape. It made the corner of Caius' lips quirk up in amusement. “Pathetic,” he hissed. He moved on to the next human, the young woman.
The first thing he saw was her chocolate brown eyes full of caution and small hints of fear. It intrigued him that fear wasn't the dominant emotion in her eyes like with the man. But that wasn't what made him pause, though. It was the fact he felt something prod at his cold dead heart for the first time in centuries.
For a moment, it felt like his heart came to life when he connected his eyes with her.
It can't be…
He furrowed his brows, eyeing her head to toe as he did with the man. But unlike with the man, Caius found himself checking over her for injuries. Hatred seethed through him when he noticed the bruises on her wrists after he silently told Demetri to release her.
Instinctively, his hands reached for her fragile wrists, observing the bruises. The woman barely flinched at his cold touch but allowed him to analyse the injuries.
“Are you hurt?” Caius found himself asking her quietly. Why, he had no idea.
“O-Only a little bit…” she whispered, nodding to her wrists. That was enough for him.
In a blink, he whirled around and grabbed the man by his neck, lifting him in the air easily with Felix releasing his hold on the human.
The man's hands flew to Caius', choking for breath.
“Pathetic, harming her for your selfish greed!” Caius snarled, tightening the hold on the human who was turning red. “You shall pay -”
“Stop!” The woman appeared in front of him, hands pressed to his chest for his attention - attention he immediately gave much to his confusion and dismay. “Stop!” she pleaded. “Don't kill him!”
“Why shouldn't I?” Caius tilted his head. “He harmed you, don't you want him to be gone from this place?”
“I don't want him to die! Yes, he should get punished, but not with death!”
“Oh, how naive and innocent you are,” the King tutted.
“I'm not stooping to his level of harming someone!” she retorted. That made him pause. “We can…we can report him to the police,” she stuttered, “He can get his punishment there. But no death. It's not necessary, I'm okay, he didn't hurt me much.”
Caius observed her, checking for any hints of fear or her lying - but there was nothing. He saw honesty in her, and that baffled him.
“He could have hurt you much more if I didn’t intercept.”
“Well, he didn’t.” She remained firm.
“If that is what you wish…” And with that, he dropped the man on the floor carelessly.
Ignoring the man coughing and heaving for oxygen, Caius focussed all his attention on the human…who still had her hands on his chest from trying to stop him from killing the man. He found himself okay with her touch, but nonetheless, he raised an eyebrow and motioned to her hands. She reeled back embarrassed.
“What is your name?”
“E-Elizabeth Swan -”
“Swan?” Caius barely held in a grimace. “Are you related to Isabella Swan?”
“Bella,” Elizabeth corrected habitually, “and she's a Cullen now. You know her?”
“Mutual acquaintances,” he replied dryly. “What is your relationship with them?”
“Well, Bella is my twin sister, and the Cullens are my in-laws, I guess,” she shrugged.
“Are you close with the Cullens?” Did she know about vampires?
“N-Not really, I mainly stay away from all the drama and attention…”
She didn't know about vampires…right?
Before he could delve deeper into his musings, the human man calling for help in his strained voice made him focus on the current situation. “Are you sure you don't want him dead?”
“No!” she replied automatically with a disappointed frown. “No unnecessary deaths.”
“Strange human…” Caius muttered lowly under his breath for her not to hear, but he nonetheless listened to her request, ordering Felix to grab the human male. “Lead the way to the…police, then.”
“Y-You don't know where it is?”
“I'm not from here,” he replied blandly, walking beside her with Felix, Demetri, and the scared human man behind them.
“I can definitely see that…” she eyed him suspiciously. “Why are you here? How do you know about Bella and the Cullens? And before, you lifted that man easily - why are your eyes red?”
“So many questions,” he sighed, looking ahead. “You and your sister have the same curiosity that will kill you in the end.”
“Hey!”
“Let's just bring this filth to the police and we can talk afterwards,” Caius decided. She wanted to argue back but knew it wasn't the right choice - the man before her screamed power and danger, and she felt like he was barely holding back his pent-up emotions, so she stayed quiet.
Surprisingly, the visit to the police station went smoothly, with the vampires using their smooth talking to have the police do what they wanted. “HELP! PLEASE!” the now-criminal yelled while fighting against the policeman's hold. “THEY'RE FREAKS - SOMETHING IS UP WITH THEM, LOOK AT THEIR EYES!”
“Contacts,” Demetri explained casually, “We just attended a costume party.”
“Once everything settles, come back here and end that man's life,” Caius ordered in Italian with their vampiric speed. “We cannot risk him spreading rumours.”
Felix and Demetri bowed their heads in understanding.
“What about the girl?” Felix nodded to Elizabeth who stood beside Caius, oblivious to their conversation as she was deep in thought.
“I'll handle it. For now, keep your distance unless I call for you.” With another bow, the two guards disappeared.
Elizabeth looked around, having felt the wind go by from their speed. “W-Where did the other two go?” she wondered.
“They're around,” Caius replied, “but let's talk. You have questions.” And I have some myself concerning you and why you're making me feel weird…
○-○-○
So far, he could see Elizabeth knew nothing of the supernatural world…hopefully. She may be Bella’s twin, but they live different lives. Bella was frolicking with vampires and shifters, while Elizabeth spent her time alone listening to music, painting, writing, reading, and composing music herself. Elizabeth was an outcast and felt like she never fit in anywhere, so she kept to herself. Even with the Cullens, she didn't feel comfortable being around them for long and only hung around them when necessary.
She didn't know that Renesmee was Bella’s biological daughter, and she didn't know that Bella was a vampire. Caius was impressed that the coven managed to keep their secret from Bella’s twin, as he knew twins held a special connection from what he saw with Jane and Alec.
Bella’s love and protectiveness must be strong for Elizabeth…but it was all a waste in the end since Elizabeth was Caius Volturi’s mate.
He didn't expect this. He didn't expect this at all.
He thought he was just doing these things for entertainment since nothing interesting had happened recently - but that wasn't the truth. He couldn't believe it.
Elizabeth Swan was his mate.
Talking to the human late at night in a 24-hour Cafe made him realise that she wasn't just the twin sister to Bella Cullen, but she was his mate.
The strange feeling in his heart when he connected eyes with her the first time, the wrath and hatred he had when realising she got hurt by the human filth, wanting to kill him. The fact he listened to her request to not kill the man (even though he was planning to have him killed still to protect their kind), and the fact he found himself enjoying talking to her and not wanting to leave her yet.
He couldn't believe his mate was related to the enemies.
Or maybe they weren’t mates? He did have a wife back in Volterra - but their marriage was simply for politics…right?
But as he sat in the Cafe with the woman, he couldn't deny this strange feeling towards her. “Get Marcus,” Caius demanded in vampiric speed under his breath, knowing his guards were nearby. He wanted to check with Marcus the depth of the connection between him and the human before him. Whether it was worth it, to tell the truth of their kind or to leave her be.
“I've just been answering your questions about me,” Elizabeth pulled him away from his thoughts. “Can I ask you questions?”
“You can try…” he answered warily.
“Are you the ‘cold ones’?”
Caius froze.
“Bella bought a book a year or two ago on some legends,” Elizabeth shared to him calmly, “I read it when she was with Edward on a random day, and…the things described there match with you…the red eyes are a giveaway as well.”
He didn't say anything and just stared at her.
“I've known about the ‘cold ones’ since then,” she admitted meekly, “I know what the Cullens are - I dunno why their eyes are gold though - and I know Bella…Bella became one…I'm her twin, I know when something is up…but I stay quiet because I know she just wants to protect me. But yeah…I probably sound crazy right now, don't I.”
“You do,” he deadpanned. Her shoulders sagged in defeat and embarrassment. “...if you were talking to someone else.” She perked up. “You're correct in your assumptions. Vampires exist. Your twin is one, like the Cullens, and I am one myself…” He leaned closer to her from across the table they were sitting in the corner of the room. “Are you scared?”
He heard her hold her breath the closer he got to her face, heart thumping rapidly. But despite that, he could see she wasn't scared at all. “No,” she answered, proving his observation to be correct.
“Why?”
“Because the Cullens haven't harmed me, and neither have you. You haven't given me a reason to fear you.”
“Just because the Cullens haven’t harmed you doesn’t mean others will follow,” Caius frowned. “Did you not see me strangle that filth before?” Caius wondered. “I lifted him easily with one hand. My guards grabbed you in the blink of an eye - we were planning to end both of your lives -”
“Why didn't you?” she inquired, seeming to remind herself to start breathing once he backed off at her question. “You didn't kill me. Why?”
“I couldn't.”
“Why?”
“Because…” I don't know.
“Because?”
“Soulmate…” Marcus whispered from somewhere in the distance, making his appearance known to Caius. “You have found your soulmate…congratulations.”
Soulmate…the rarest pair in the supernatural…it’s somewhat easier to find your mate - but to find a soulmate, that only happens to the lucky ones.
And Caius found his. By accident.
I almost killed her and would have drank her dry…
“No, it's not!” Caius hissed in reply to Marcus. “She's human!”
“What?” Elizabeth was confused at the random outburst. Caius shook his head, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“I couldn't kill you,” he answered slowly, closing his eyes. “Once I connected eyes with you…I couldn't.”
“But why?”
“Because…we're…” he struggled to tell her, in disbelief that his revelation was true. This was not part of his schedule that day. He wanted the Cullens to be ended that day. Not find a soulmate he never thought of having.
Elizabeth waited patiently for him.
“What do you know of soulmates?” he blurted out roughly.
“...not much…just that soulmates are those who are destined to be, right?”
“Right…”
“Are we…are we…soulmates?” she asked nervously.
“...yes.”
“...oh…”
“Mh-hm..”
They were silent for a few seconds.
“What a first meeting, huh?” she joked lightly. “Our first meeting is with you saving my life -”
“Almost killing you and becoming my snack,” Caius corrected with furrowed brows.
“Hm, that isn’t what I saw in my perspective,” she shrugged. “On my side, you saved me from a dangerous man who was about to do something to me.”
“True, but my intentions weren’t -”
“That’s your side. My side happens to be brighter and better.”
“What?” Caius did not understand her.
Elizabeth merely grinned.
“You are definitely related to Bella,” he commented dryly. “Both of you are clueless when it comes to facing danger.”
“Wha - hey!”
He wouldn’t admit it out loud to anyone, but he found it quite fun to tease her.
○-○-○
They spoke for another hour at the cafe, mainly to plan how their relationship was going to proceed from there. Elizabeth was against dropping everything to go to Italy with him, so he had no choice but to concede to long distance as they got to know more about each other. He couldn’t just drop everything either, he was one of the Kings in the vampire world, and he had responsibilities - once Elizabeth pointed out the similarities they had, he agreed to long distance.
He also had to sort out the business with his wife in Volterra - which he told Elizabeth about, her surprisingly being understanding about it.
Before he knew it, they stood outside the cafe with a taxi waiting for Elizabeth on the curb. “Keep in contact,” she reminded the Volturi King. “I would like to get to know more about you.”
“As will I,” he returned cordially. “I must mention though, I do plan to visit you more since you refuse to visit me -”
“My dad would not like the idea of me suddenly taking trips to Italy with the small money I have -”
“I can easily prepare the tickets -”
“Do you even want to meet my Dad now? We barely know each other, it would be weird and suspicious for him if he heard some guy is buying me tickets to go to Italy,” she pointed out. He scowled at that - he was not just ‘some guy’. “He already dislikes Edward -”
“Not my problem -”
“Caius,” she scolded. “Be patient, please. It’s a lot to take in. I think some distance is good just in case.”
He sighed at that. She had no idea how soulmates worked…
“Visit me,” she invited. “I’ll be more than willing to meet you here. And when we know each other more, and more comfortable with each other, then…then I’ll consider going to Italy.”
“...fine…” he gave in with a grumble.
“Here!” Rummaging through her backpack, she ripped out a piece of paper from her notebook and scribbled numbers down. “Here’s my phone number. You can contact me there.” He accepted the paper with two hands, making sure to hold it firmly. The taxi beeped at them as a reminder, Caius sending a glare at the driver.
“Thanks for saving me before, and it’s nice to meet you,” Elizabeth farewelled. “I’ll talk to you soon?”
“Talk to you soon,” he nodded, opening the taxi door for her. One last goodbye and she was on her way back home. Felix and Demetri appeared behind him, Marcus appearing beside him. “Felix, Demetri.”
“Yes, Master?”
“I need a cell phone. Get me one or else.”
“Yes, Master.” And they were gone again.
“It is a blessing to meet your soulmate,” Marcus told him in his low, airy voice. Caius hummed. “She will help you in many ways. Your bond to each other is strong.”
“She’s human.”
“In time, she’s still young like young Bella.”
“Hm.”
“Give it a chance,” Marcus encouraged him. “Very rare do we have a chance to find our soulmate and be with them.” They all thought of Didyme, and Caius felt slightly remorseful for taking his situation for granted when there was Marcus who was suffering from losing his love of his life.
“Of all people, it was someone connected to the Cullens,” the blonde King grunted. “Now there’s no way we can get rid of the Cullens, for it will hurt Elizabeth immensely.”
“You will have to talk to her at one point about that, by the way.”
“...hm…” He was not keen on that conversation.
