I'm gonna say something that i've been keeping to myself...

Have people in the fandom ever speculated about El's parentage? Like we know that Terry is her mother but who is her father.

I mean.... is Henry Creel her father? Did evil ass Dr Brenner really use this approx 13 year old to force inseminate a 20 something year old woman.

I haven't really wanted to bring this up because I don't want it to be one of those things where I mention and everyone's like "whoaa dude, why did your brain go there!!!"

I always used to assume that Terry was pregnant prior to the experiments and then the experiments caused El to have powers. And that could still be true but I feel like they strongly hinted that Henry was the basis for all the following "numbers." And the fact that she somehow had the exact same powers as Henry. Somehow they had to make her have the same powers as Henry right. Like they couldn't dose this woman with simply LSD and her kid coincidentally has the same powers as this dude. I would be willing to believe if the show told us that but I just feel like I have no clue now who her father is.

Now that I think about it though... El would have been born in 1971 and Henry would have been an adult by that point but there were children older than El who had those same powers. Also we see him tatooing a "01" tattoo on Henry when he was a kid so clearly he had some sort of plans prior to that.

Thanks for bearing with me, I know this has been long winded and I don't even know if I want the show confirm any of this. But all this to say... to hell with Dr Brenner. He was an evil creepy son of a bitch (and force inseminating someone no matter what the age of the donor is some evil shit)... and also to hell with Henry/Vecna. He was clearly evil even before Brenner got his claws on him... killing animals and almost all of his family and shit!!

I've been thinking about this again cause I was rewatching season 7. Every time Dan talks I am so pissed off. He spends almost the entirety of this season badgering Nathan and trying to get him to forgive him. Acting entitled like he deserves forgiveness. Acting like he deserves redemption. I just get the impression that being the town pariah has become icky to him and he will not stop badgering people until they give him what he wants and what he thinks he deserves. Fuck off dude!! You murdered someone!! Fuck off and stop annoying your poor son who had to deal with the shame of having you as a piss poor excuse for a father!

I'm listening Drama Queens and I love their takes on the character of Dan Scott. Joy called him a "vampire" and it's so true. It just got me to thinking about how the first unselfish thing that Dan ever did was when he sacrificed his life to save Nathan.

Everything he does is for himself. In 5x16 he has this line...

I've never told anyone else this before, but when I was in prison, I tried to kill myself. I put a rope around my neck, and I tried to hang myself. When I stepped off that chair... That is so manipulative. The way he uses his suicide attempt as a way to guilt Nathan and also says how he took it as a "sign" so if Nathan rejects him then he is denying the universe and denying someone who tried to commit suicide... so fucking manipulative. I see as being similar to when someone threatens to commit suicide if they leave them. It's trying to use suicide to manipulate someone and try to get what he wants. And then he the nerve to say that he needs peace before he dies. As if he didn't rob his brother of peace in death by murdering him. As if he didn't leave Lily and Lucas with no father and Karen without the love of her life. Where is their peace? It was stolen by you Dan!!

The way he gets upset and annoyed at Nathan all throughout the show for not wanting to forgive him is ridiculous. He has this feeling of entitlement. Like he deserves forgiveness. He deserves a second chance. Every nice thing he does is in an attempt to get forgiveness from Nathan. It doesn't come off as him wanting to be a good guy. There's always something he's trying to get... whether that be money, power, or forgiveness from Nathan.

I see far too many people feel bad for Dan during this time and think that Nathan is too hard on him. Nathan is a victim not Dan. Nathan is totally in the right during this entire time. Also you gotta remember that this isn't the only bad thing Nathan saw from Dan. He also spent much of his childhood being physically, verbally, and emotionally abused by Dan. He saw his mom threatened, manipulated, and mistreated by his father. This runs so much deeper than Dan stans would like to admit (I can't believe that SOB has stans BTW)

I love this line by Haley to Nathan because it conjures up this whole image in my mind. I can just imagine little Haley looking across the courtyard during lunch and seeing Nathan. It makes me wonder how she felt about him. Did she think he was handsome? Did she know that he was Lucas' brother at that time? If so, did she hate him for that reason? I like to imagine that her first impression was that he was handsome. Knowing Haley she probably looked down upon him a little bit because she really didn't like the popular crowd. But who knows how young she was.... this could have been before those feelings set into place. There's so many different realities ones brain can explore just after hearing this line.

They could have majorly downsized production of their Watcher productions. Clearly it would not have hurt viewership based off of these numbers. We weren't there for the big productions. We were there because of the interesting stories and their funny banter. Fucking downsize production before you alienate your fanbase. People like to act like "It's just a small subscription. You can afford it." But what they don't understand is that there are practically hundreds of subscription streaming sites all of which charge individual fees. It is not feasible in this day and age to pay for every piece of content you might enjoy. It's not selfish to not want to pay for it. It's financially smart not to pay for it. Everyone is in debt!! It's just not possible!!

BTW it's so ironic how they love the idea of stealing. They encouraged people to steal from banks even though tellers can be traumatized in a situation like that (not all robberies are safe and unviolent. And it's traumatizing cause you never know if the robber has a gun or something). And now people are talking about pirating their shows. I wonder if they'll like that idea? Thievery is only fun when it doesn't affect you, right? LOL

I want to make one thing very clear....

Nathan Scott IS Haley James Scott's best friend.

I have no problem with people calling Lucas her best friend (if we exclude Nathan from the conversation) but Nathan is her best friend.

Everyone likes to act like Lucas ignoring Haley in later seasons is so out of character and maybe that's true. But this is the canon of the show whether you like it or not. This is the canon we have to work to with. There is no way that Lucas who ignored Haley and canonically never called her in later seasons was her best friend (how sad would that be if your best friend treats you that way). Haley writes to him and we have no indication that he ever wrote back. In fact in season 9 when Haley does see Lucas she says this "You don't write. You don't call." Thus canonically proving he's been a shitty friend. Who was there for Haley while she was depressed and suicidal? It was Nathan. Who was there cheering her on during her successes? It was Nathan. And I get some of that was just necessary because the actor left the show. But there is no reason he couldn't have written or called. This was a decision made by the writers and like it or not it proves that Nathan is Haley's best and most consistent friend.

Before ya'll get mad at me. Ask yourselves why it's a problem if Nathan is her best friend? A girl can have multiple best friends. It doesn't change that there's a pecking order... that some friends may be even better than others. And isn't that what you want? Your significant other to be your best friend? Isn't that best case scenario?

Don't get me wrong... I adore Lucas and Haley's friendship but she deserves that her best friend be there for her consistently. In fact, I would say that Haley and Brooke are better friends than Haley and Lucas. It goes 1. Nathan and Haley, 2. Haley and Brooke, and 3. Lucas and Haley 😁💕
