My first real Fandom was for the show Oz. It was pretty queer if dated in a lot of its concepts of queer people. My favorite character was Chris Keller. He was a psychopath who murder people, betrayed Tobias Beecher, the love of his life many, many times. Still the writing makes him so compelling. I cried when he dies. I did not think it was a bad ending but I was sad.
I have thought Izzy was going to die since season one. I understand the arc for him even if it is devasting.
The point of all of this is that there are legitimate reasons why I thought the ofmd s2 finale was bad. Yes I loved Izzy. Absolutely any death would make me cry, but not every death would make me disappointed/mad.
I get it. Writers get to make whatever creative decision they want, but audiences get to analyze and critique it. Sometimes they love it, other times they have legitimate reason not to watch it again.
