1. How many works do you have on ao3? 68, apparently.

2. What's your total ao3 word count? 1,906,252

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently Captain America (which no one saw coming, but here we are).

4. Top five fics by kudos:

Number 6 is finally back to fic. I hadn’t realized some of the art got that high. I never look at works by kudo count.

5. Do you respond to comments? I try to, but I very often fall off.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably NFSR, for where it is and how long it’s run and what they’ve gone through to get there, but it technically hasn’t ended yet and I hadn’t intended for it to stay that way.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Uh. Maybe Echoes (BBC Sherlock, Moriarty/Mycroft, de-aged/extreme underage) or Arms and the Boy (Fantastic Beasts, Grindelwald/Credence, extreme underage). Both are very iddy-happy endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics? More rarely than you’d think, but occasionally.

9. Do you write smut? I don’t think I’ve written anything without smut.

10. Craziest crossover: Haven’t done a crossover.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I don’t think so. If I’ve inspired anyone, I’m happy.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, mostly with Silus Locke. It’s been a long, long time, but it would be nice to co-write again someday.

14. All time favorite ship? You can’t make me choose.

15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I want to finish all of them. Some I still have hope that I will. I suppose Devil’s Bridge might fit this best.

16. What are your writing strengths? I’m honestly not sure what my strengths are.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Brevity.

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language? No strong opinions. It works when the pov character isn’t meant to understand what’s being said. If they are, then it’s nice to have a translation nearby. If the translation is in the notes, it’s hard having to scroll down every time. Shrug.

19. First fandom you wrote in? Who knows.

20. Favorite fic you've written? No Familiar Sunken Roads (Kingsman, Harry/Eggsy, extreme underage)

I wiiiiiiiiish so badly that Tumblr had better base functionality for discussions. I have so many thoughts on how badly discussions go here through the years (escalating conflict, losing context, virtue signaling on a pedestal for followers rather than sincere and lower stakes back and forth discussion with the person you’re conversing with) because of the functionality of reblogs on this site.

(That said, that functionality is PERFECT for humor. Where else can you get such well crafted and curated jokes escalating reblog after reblog after reblog all down the line?)

But for civil, friendly discussion about subjects that could potentially turn into wank if containment is broken that you don’t want to blast the entirety of to all your followers? It’s so hard.

I ask myself so much on this website: “Does this NEED to be said? And does this NEED to be said by me?” And most often the answer is no and no.

I’m saying yes this time here because I would LOVE more productive, non-escalating, non-performative community interaction, but Tumblr does not make it easy. (Even when a discussion is going well! It’s hard to keep reblogging back and forth before you feel so sorry for your followers having to wade through it all after a while.)

Responding to art and fic posts and the like is a great idea though, I like that.

Maybe I should make a discussion side blog, idk.

when i say i wish people started using the reblog button more i don't mean it in a 'i want more notes' kind of way i mean it in a 'i want to read about your thoughts on this particular thing' and 'i want to have conversations in the tags' and 'i want this to feel like a community again and not like any of those boring social media platforms where artists are content creators and interactions never goes beyond a like'

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.
