Justice is Blind and Clean

The seventh sign of the zodiac comes during the middle of the harvest month. The second air sign of the zodiac, Libra, has a couple of people associated with its splendor. As the Scales, Libra stands as a symbol of justice. Many mythologies have stories about the scales of justice with the most famous being Anubis weighing hearts against a feather to determine their afterlife. Scales are always associated with justice, as the statue of Justice in front of the Supreme Court of the United States. The statue of the figure portraying justice is always blind, reminding those that dispense it to be impartial and unbiased. The scales bring balance to the individual, the situation, and the times. But those who hold the scales are to be looked at and revered for fate is in their interpretation of the scales.

Themis, the goddess of justice in Greek times, was given the rare and coveted position of being Zeus’s advisor. In Olympus, Themis sat on a throne beside Zeus and advised him about matters dealing with those who broke the laws set down by Zeus himself. Themis is one of the twelve Titans that was born to Ouranos and Gaia, aunt to Zeus himself. Themis was always represented as a human woman, blindfolded and carrying her scales. She received the gift or foresight, or prophecy, from her mother and replaced her as the Oracle at Delphi. However, when Apollo was born to Zeus and Leto, Themis adored him so much, she gave the Oracle to Apollo. The Titaness was also one to oversee wisdom and good counsel as well as interpret the will of the gods for mortals. Themis gave birth to the Hours, the Fates, and (in some accounts) the Hesperides. As the mother of Clotho, Atropos, and Lachesis, she would make sure the souls were just and true as the Fates decided the length of time the mortal lived. Themis also gave birth to another goddess, Dike. 

Dike, the Protector of fair judgment, is caught up in another Zodiac sign as well. Dike is a maiden goddess said to dispense justice in the mortal realm while her mother sits in Olympus to dole out the will of the gods. Dike found she enjoyed her time more among the mortals and did her best to make sure they were following the divine laws of the gods so that when the mortals would die, they could spend their afterlife in Elysium. Dike is also often confused with the maiden Astraea, goddess of innocence, and thus the pair of goddesses are linked together in Virgo and Libra. 

Those born under the scales are charmers and smart. Libras are diplomatic, social, and debaters. Libras love to be the center of attention, enjoying shifting to fit in with different crowds of people. These people hate mess, chaos, and disorder. They love to listen to people, but in turn tend to share the information with others as a little bit of gossip. Meditation and DIY and cleaning are some great things for Librans. Which is why the scent of Libra  is such a powerful combination.

Aries are often hotheaded and go by the saying "every man for himself," and Simon is just that. While he has a temper is comes off in other means rather than just exploding into blinding fits of anger. Although these anger fits don't always last long. Aries loves to be number one and Ghost can often get frustrated if he isn't the one leading the reigns of an operation. He loves to be in control of himself and doesn't appreciate being told what to do by anyone who isn't Price. (For the most part) They like things quick and dirty, a temperament also reflected in their sexual proclivities. While Simon also carries knowledge, it's true that sometimes he can jump before he thinks. But that part he's gotten under control. These courageous rams are always armed and ready for battle. He's compatible with Gemini and Aquarius.

John "Soap" MacTavish is an eccentric and energetic man. He's always doing something and is often wrapped up in his friends and tasks. Because of Geminis' intrinsic duality, they are often falsely misrepresented as two-faced. In reality a Gemini rarely has a hidden agenda. Soap is open and taskful with his job and friends. This is inspired by @sleepyconfusedpotato 's post on their MTBIs but I'm not well versed on those so I'm doing Zodiac signs hahah.

Price:

I thought he'd be a Capricorn or an Aquarius but according to his birthday, he's an Aquarius. (so I was half right).

He's very serious but passionate, both traits in Aquarius and Capricorn. However, the thing that made me think he's an Aquarius is his independent-ness. He's a "my way or the highway" type of guy and Aquarius' are notorious for that, it's why they're my fave sign. They're the signs to say "fuck the establishment" and that's Price 100%.

Ghost:

This man has to be an Aries, if not then Gemini. I can't really explain it but those are the ones that feel right.

His adaptability and quick-thinking, dry humor, and intelligence is what made me think Gemini at first. However, Aries' are very fiery, very determined, domineering and intimidating, and headstrong, but they're also sensitive to the needs of others and adjusts depending on who he's talking to.

He has similarities to Battery from Black Ops 3&4 who is canonically an Aries. But he also has similarities to Ruin from the same games and he is canonically a Gemini. Both signs are very similar even though one is air and one is fire.

I will accept Aquarius though, if the devs decide to make him an Aquarius.

Soap:

Leo. I will not elaborate :)

Okay I will. Cockiness. :)

Leo's will be the end of me. Their cockiness is so hot because it's fitting. It doesn't come across as the gross kind of cockiness, rather it comes across as confidence. His humor and sunshine-like personality are also signs of being a Leo.

Gaz:

He feels like a Sagittarius to me, I'm not going to lie. Although they like to be independent and love exploring and going on adventures, they're not as rebellious as Aquarius' are. But also, the dynamic between Aqua and Sag is chef's kiss and reminds me of Price and Gaz.

Rudy:

Libra, but maybe Virgo. They're two very different signs, but they feel right to me.

Libra because he's well-balanced, compromises, has a sense of justice and morals.

Virgo because he's very practical and resourceful, he gets shit done, and is friendly to everyone but he has a tight group that not everyone is a part of.

Alejandro:

Either Libra or Leo, I can't decide as they're both passionate signs, but it shows in slightly different ways from each other. However, if I had to choose, I'd say Libra because of his sense of justice. Libra's are very loyal and often the places they grew up in are the places they will romanticize and go back to, which is very Alejandro behavior.

Valeria:

Leo. Absolutely and 100% a Leo. Her cockiness and assertiveness is rightfully placed, as well as her rebellious nature, and her assuredness that she won't be convicted because they have no proof. (Her actress is a Sagittarius and I used to watch her on novelas when I was younger so I'm so happy to see her in a game that means so much to me 😭)

I had trouble deciding between Aquarius and Leo because they're both similar signs (pretty much the same sign if you ask me), but her loudness is what convinced me she was a Leo.

König:

Cancer, I feel it in my bones. He's a Cancer and you can't tell me otherwise. Everyone always headcanons him as someone who can't take social cues, but Cancer's are well-adjusted people in society. I've always felt that König is very deceiving in that sense. He's not incompetent is social interactions, but he just prefers to not say anything. Social anxiety doesn't make one a blushing mess, it just means you'd rather not deal with so many people.

Laswell:

Aries. Similar to Ghost in the sense that she's very determined, but has that hidden soft spot for the people closest to her. I also headcanon her as a massive cuddle-bug, and that fits with Aries' strong outside, soft inside.

Graves:

He feels like a Virgo to me. Similar reasons as to why Rudy felt like a Virgo--he's practical, gets shit done, makes a great leader, etc. I also can't explain this next part, but he looks like a Virgo.

There's a theory in astrology spaces that zodiac signs look a specific way. I forgot what physical traits Virgo's have, but Graves looks like a Virgo to me. I'm sure I'll come across a post that reminds me, and when that happens, I'll add to this post.

A Fair Maiden... But Which One?

As summer fades into fall, the days get shorter and the nights get longer. The air gets cooler for those in the Northern Hemisphere, and people begin to get ready to send their vacations packing as school begins. The harvest begins to come up and surely more rules need to be enforced as the lax ways of summer are transitioning into the stricter autumn. Funny how all of these things are represented by the constellation Virgo. Oh, no one knew that? Well why don’t we continue with the story of the largest Zodiac constellation and the second largest in the sky.

As with the other zodiac constellations, Virgo has a story. However, Virgo doesn’t just have one story, there are many. Scholars cannot agree who Virgo is in myth. Some say Persephone, others her mother Demeter, others still Astraea, and more Dike. So listen well, all of you here, and hear the stories of the women who claim the name of Virgo.

Demeter, goddess of agriculture and harvest, sister to Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hestia, and Hades, had a daughter. Her daughter caught the eye of many men wishing she was their bride. Demeter refused all suitors for her daughter, keeping her pure and untouched. As the goddess of Spring, Persephone made the world flourish with beauty and lovely flora. Spring was eternal while Demeter and Persephone were happy and together. Demeter ensured the harvests and kept the lands producing. Persephone kept the foliage green and springtime around, making the mortals who worshiped the gods happy and healthy. Hades watched Persephone and the King of the Underworld’s heart warmed when he saw her. When he asked Demeter for Persephone’s hand, Demeter refused. But Hades wanted Persephone, so as she was walking and playing one day, he stole her and brought her to the Underworld. He pleaded with her to stay for he had fallen in love with her. He showered her with gifts and food, but nothing would stop her tears. Demeter searched for her daughter, pleading with Zeus to tell her anything he knew. Finally she got answers from Helios, the all seeing sun. When she learned that Hades had her and Zeus knew, Demeter left her duties causing the world to spiral into famine and starvation. Zeus pleaded with Demeter but she stayed firm in her decision that until she had her daughter back, the earth would never be fruitful and produce the food needed to keep the humans alive. Zeus promised that he would bring Persephone back if it was shown she was held against her will. Hades learned of the promise and knew that Persephone would be taken from him. That is, until she ate six seeds of the fruit of the underworld, the pomegranate. When Zeus came with Demeter and Hermes, Persephone was finally split between the Underworld with her husband and her mother on the surface, sentenced to spend half the year with each party. It is when the seasons change and the harvest comes around that Persephone makes her journey down to her husband, plunging the world into winter.

The story of Persephone comes after the myth of her mother, Demeter of course. Most know that Demeter as the goddess of the harvest and agriculture, sister to Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hades, and Hestia. In her story, she was the third born child, second daughter, to Rhea and Kronos and thus the third child to be swallowed by her father. Kronos had found out from his mother Gaia and his father Ouranos that he would have the same fate delivered to him that he gave his father. So as Rhea brought his children into the world, Kronos swallowed them whole. After many years inside her father’s stomach, she grew and was finally released from her father after her youngest brother Zeus freed his siblings from their prison. The six siblings worked together with some of the other titans who were unhappy with how Kronos ruled and thus overthrew the tyrannical reign of Kronos and the Titanomachy that had been in place. Once the war was won, Demeter went about her duties to provide a world rich with food and beauty for the mortals that prayed to them all. As she was venturing out in the world one day as a snake, she laid with another snake, Zeus in disguise, and after nine months gave birth to her daughter who would take the name Persephone. After Persephone was taken by Hades and Demeter stepped down from her duties, she hid as a horse among some of the herds. She was accosted by Poseidon in the herd and bore him twins, Areion and Despoine. She had four other children, all demi-gods and goddesses as they were products of affairs with mortal men. 

{Virgo, The Maiden, is a well known figure. Though there are multiple different versions of her story, Virgo fits into whatever she is needed for. She is always watching over those born under her stars, even when she can’t be seen due to the light of the sun.}

Astraea, daughter of Eos (the dawn) and Astreaus (the dusk), represented innocence. Astraea lived among the humans and brought happiness and peace to the world until the Bronze and Iron Ages came to humankind. When the humans turned their backs to the gods, Astraea left the Earth and took her place in the stars. Astraea is also close to the goddess Dike, goddess of justice. Dike and Astraea are often confused with one another or even combined into the same person. While Dike is considered for this myth, and explains why the next Zodiac is so close by in the sky, we’ll talk about Dike a bit more when the next zodiac season comes along.

Virgo has four women that are all said to claim the spot of this constellation. It makes sense that this soap inspired by the Maiden looks to have four colors in it: light and dark blue, brown, and creamy white. White for innocence and purity, brown for the earth, and blues for the tranquility and truth the Maiden provides. The scent of this soap, Spiced Honey Tonka, is a warm and comforting scent. Smelling close to maple syrup, those with a keen nose can pick up the notes of the woodsy base notes, the slight hint of dark tobacco leaves, the comforting spices blended with honey, the supple notes of bergamot, oud wood, musk, and coriander to give a deepness to the fragrance. But when you get a Virgo as a friend, you have someone that will tell you the truth and will stay by your side. This soap lasts a long time, just like your friendship with Virgo.}

With Virgo being the sixth sign of the zodiac, covering the dates of August 23 to September 22, this second earth sign pays attention to the smallest details. Loyal, analytical, hardworking, and practical, these people tend to be misunderstood because they don’t like to accept their emotions as valid. Virgos are shy, worry quite often, become overly critical of others and themselves, and tend to follow the “All work and no play” mentality. Virgos love to be around animals, healthy foods, books, nature, and places that are very clean. On the other hand, they get a bit testy when people are rude or when they have to ask for help and be in the spotlight. The colors for Virgo are grey, beige, and pale yellow and their day of the week is Wednesday. Virgos are ruled by Mercury and as such have a great understanding of speech, written language, and all forms of communication. A Virgo might like to be a journalist, typist, or writer but will also do well as caregivers since they have a need to be of service to people.
