Harry sucked his bottom lip between his teeth, torn. In the end, it was an offer he was too weak to resist.
“So…do you want to? Little taste?”
“Yeah,” Harry rasped out, “please.”
Or, Harry is a vampire that comes home one night, grappling with the darkness that comes with being one. Louis offers him unwavering love, acceptance and the one thing he needs but is reluctant to ask for; permission to bite for the sake of comfort and safety seeking.

I think almost everyone in the fandom will have read this, but if you’ve been putting it off it’s time to get around to it. It hurts, but it’s beautifully written and if you’re in the right mindset it’s a wonderful read.

Honestly, I completely loved this. So intricate, so well written, so realistic - it tugs at the heartstrings and sweeps you up into it entirely.

Firstly! Apologies for being the terrible lurker fan (I gotta go correct that with some comments asap) who reads on her kindle and then has her adhd cause glitching bt what she has just read and the real live person on ao3/tumblr who deserves her gratitude. 😭
Secondly! Canon fake dating is like my ultimate guilty pleasure comfort trope (we don’t ask for these things they just are what they are, right?) and And Then a Bit is one of only like 3 fics I’ve read multiple times, so you can imagine my excitement when you reappeared after so long with MORE canon compliant fake dating. I legit NEVER read wips (see adhd) but actually read The Greatest Thing weekly and loved it.

When Harry turns his head to bite Louis’ earlobe, Louis buries his face in Harry’s hair, breathing him in. He detects a faint whiff of smoke, and frowns.
“Did you smoke?”
Harry presses his face into Louis’ neck, nodding.
“Oh, no,” Louis says, rubbing a soothing hand over Harry’s bare back. “I know you hate to smoke without me.”
Louis barely hears the whisper as Harry says, “I’m sorry,” since he doesn’t bother to lift his lips from Louis’ skin. But then Harry says it again, louder, following it with a kiss against Louis’ neck. And then again, over and over, leaving apologies and kisses against Louis’ skin like he wants them to stay, as permanent as the ink of their tattoos. Louis sags against the wall, trusting Harry to hold his weight, as the relief finally hits him. Harry hates apologizing, even when he knows he’s wrong. And Louis can’t even remember who was wrong, and more than that, he doesn’t care. He just wants Harry back. He doesn’t need Harry to beg, and it feels like that’s exactly what he’s doing right now.
“Baby,” Louis says at last. “Stop, stop it. I’m sorry.”
A tear slips down Louis’ neck, and he wrinkles his brow in confusion. He hasn’t cried in several minutes, a record for him today, if not every day since the breakup. But then a sob wracks Harry’s body, his grip tightening on Louis as his shoulders shake.
“Oh, baby,” Louis says, petting Harry’s hair. “No, baby, I’m sorry. Please don’t cry.”
“I just missed you,” Harry chokes out. When he draws back, it’s Louis’ turn to smooth away his tears. “I missed you so fucking much, Lou.”
“I missed you, too,” Louis says, resting his forehead against Harry’s. “We’ve never been this stupid before, have we?”
5. Share or describe a favorite review you received:
I really loved getting both @kingsofeverything and @allwaswell16 reactions to Suddenly Last Summer! Lauren theorized via voice note and I was glued to my email while Anitra commented as she read, and it all just felt really good!
6. A time when writing was really, really hard:
I'm not going to lie, writing was not that hard this year. I think I was just picking things I really wanted to write for myself. And it was a good coping mechanism when things were hard in my personal life. But honestly, it kind of feels like dumb luck because I've definitely had my share of writing block.
7. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:
I don't know where the itch to write dark Harry in routine surveillance came from!! That took me by surprise, and I loved doing it.
8. How did you grow as a writer this year:
I think just by writing for myself. I always wish I had different stats on my fics, but I can't write with trying to please people in mind.
9. How do you hope to grow next year:
I don't know! Keep writing for myself and being the weirdo who likes to do lots of different things.
10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):
I am fortunate to have a lot of support!! This year, I really noticed the lovely comments I was getting from @nouies <3
11. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:
Yes! Just about everything that the cat does in if i'm being honest has been done by one of my new cats. It's my love letter to them.
12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:
I don't think I have much new wisdom. I always say pay attention to the writing advice that works for you, and ignore the rest. I think telling a story and making people feel something matters more than the technique, but I also say that as someone who has spent a lot of time on technique so don't listen to me if you don't want to!
13. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:
I want to write a girl direction When Harry Met Sally AU and make it VERY GAY and I'm excited about it!!

When Louis Tomlinson gets a directing gig that's layered in more NDA's than he's ever seen, the last person he expects to work for is famous pop star (and his best friend Liam's celebrity crush), ZAYN. But what he expects even less is Zayn's Very! Enthusiastic! Fashion Influencer! boyfriend Harry Styles, who seems to want to make Louis’ life a living hell with his very existence.
When Harry signed on to become Zayn's fake boyfriend, he expected 12 months of good press and a generous paycheck to help launch his makeup/skincare line—he didn't expect to fall in love at first sight with the man who'll apparently be following Zayn around all. the. damn. time. for the same year.
A fake dating with a twist famous/not-famous enemies to friends to secret lovers where Larry and Ziam fall in love behind the scenes while Zarry bicker in public.
In this, the first scene in chronological order, we learn the origin story of Louis' 'feelings' for Harry, and find out how they were sweet-talked into participating in this mess.

so, i wrote a zarry ficlet (about 13000 words) and am trying to gather whether there would be any interest in the fic. here’s an excerpt.
“I’m supposed to leave tomorrow.”
Harry looked up from his plate and raised a curious brow at Zayn. “What do you mean?”
“I think you know what I mean.” Zayn didn’t want to hurt Harry’s feelings, but he also didn’t want to beat around the bush. It was a conversation they needed to have.
Harry sighed and he put his fork down. “I don’t want you to go.”
Zayn stared at him in surprise.
“Don’t look so shocked,” Harry told him, “I thought it was obvious.”
Maybe it was. Maybe Harry tried to show him. Either way, Zayn needed to get back to the city. He had a life there and it was important to him. He wasn’t going to throw that all away to play house with Harry when he didn’t even know if he could count on him not to leave him in the morning.
“I don’t know, Harry.” Zayn shrugged. “I want to believe you, but it’s been what – two days? Maybe tomorrow you’ll wake up and you’ll have changed your mind.”
“Are you going to change your mind?” Harry asked him.
Zayn swallowed hard. The answer was no. How could he ever truly forget about the man he had loved since he was a kid who didn’t even know what the word meant?
“Stay here with me,” Harry said when silence fell and Zayn didn’t answer the question.
Zayn gawked at him. “I’m supposed to drop everything I have in a place I love to live here with you?”
“You love this place too,” Harry insisted.
“No,” Zayn said, “I don’t. When I’m at home, I’m only reminded of you and how my heart was broken countless times in this town.” He didn’t want to hurt Harry but maybe Harry needed to hear what he had to say. “I have a life there and friends and co-workers –“
“Fine,” Harry interrupted. He stood from the table and took his plate to the sink.
