#you’re still embracing that franchise

i’m also really sorry but continuing to actively promote a brand or a franchise that is notably guilty and complicit and even exploitative of what’s happening in palestine not even just financially but promotionally (continuing to write for said franchise, continuing to repost things relating to said franchise, at all) is morally counterproductive and contradictory and i just have to say that because i feel like no one else is going to
#and i’m going to be so honest this is in fact directed at the last of us writers#because if you do all of this only to continue to write for fictional characters that have ties to the game and the game itself is like#problematic in nature#then that doesn’t make any sense#you kind of have to stand on business#i feel like what’s happening in palestine is such a real thing that extends far beyond like fictional characters#and especially if there’s a company or something that is moving in a pro israel fashion in any way#if you choose to embrace that on your own terms so that you can feel better#you’re still embracing that company#you’re still embracing that franchise#you are not fully standing on business#and that to some extent makes what you’re doing performative#i’ve had this conversation with a few of my friends because like seriously in the grand scheme giving up like#comfortable access to like starbucks and games and tv shows that outwardly have a pro israel narrative or support israel#is really not that difficult and if it is difficult for you then i think you need to redefine your activism#it’s not a matter of what you’re doing right now but what i will say if this conversation surrounding palestine dies down and people just#go back to pretty much what is business as usual and disregard everything you’re doing now if you’re doing anything now#that’s really not okay#and it’s actively not okay to play for two teams#especially when one so clearly morally outweighs the other#stand up#download hinge#or tinder#find another fandom to write for and promote and embrace#it’s gonna be okay

pairings. haechan x streamer!reader (f)
genre. fluff, established relationship
warnings. shy haechan?? small make out sesh, mentions of zelda again bc i love zelda
notes. THIS REQUEST IS SO CUTE??? thank u anon for requesting this ! i hope you enjoy this just as much as i did writing this one :D
haechan masterlist | main masterlist
-
“i blocked and muted anything related to zelda because i do not want spoilers!” you exclaim into your mic, mindlessly scrolling through your playlist on spotify to play another song.
user same i blocked and muted everything bc my game doesn’t get here til the twentieth
user same
user i like playing new games going in blind it’s exciting
“me too, i love it. even though the trailers and concept art drops give away a bit but not too much.” you agree to the last comment you read.
user how are you
user hiiii yn
user how long have u been streaming
user is haechan home?
“i’ve been streaming for two hours and thirty-eight minutes,” you answer. “and haechan is almost home actually!”
“oh let me show you guys my new wallpaper.” you excitedly say, minimizing your current windows, displaying your wallpaper to the viewers.
it’s just a screen capture of a scenery from one of your favorite game franchises, the legend of zelda twilight princess. an official illustration that shows link on his horse, epona, with the master sword in his hand, looking handsome as ever in his green tunic. princess zelda and the twilight princess in the background and wolf link in front. the colors are so pretty and you’re very proud of it.
user oh my god that’s so cool
user tp yessss
user who is that fine man
user that is fire
“that fine man is link–“
knock knock.
“who?” speaking of the devil. your favorite person walks in, staring at you quizzically with his work bag hanging off his shoulder. he looks absolutely ravenous and you want to thank his parents once again for giving birth to this man.
“hi babe!” you chirp, straightening your posture as you weakly hold out your arms in the air, waiting for him to walk into your embrace.
he cradled your head against his tummy, being careful of your headset. his hands move down to the area just below your ears, pulling you in for a kiss but you slyly dodge him. haechan rarely kisses you while you are streaming, he doesn’t like showing that in front of thousands of people. but he can get affectionate and touchy sometimes, so he’ll pull you towards him with his back facing the camera and blocking both of your lips.
“haechan’s home guys,” like it wasn’t that obvious…
you grab your tube of lip balm that was across your desk, quickly and evenly applying some to your lips. when you rub your lips together, it feels a bit thick but you try to ignore it.
he hums, “that’ll just go to waste, let me get some.” he cups your face again, pushing your chair with his knees to make room for him to stand in front of you. you instinctively place your hands on his waist from the sudden movements. he bends down, his face inching closer towards yours and it’s like your brain goes haywire because your lips quickly connects with his before you attempt to shove him away.
you know where this is going.
he lets out a whine, “kiss me.”
you giggle, your head is still in his hands. you try to look at your monitor, already forgetting you had a live audience. haechan noticed your concerns, he turns his body slightly to tap your mic, turning it off so viewers can’t hear anything.
“now kiss me.” he says impatiently, the corner of his lips curving upward in a smirk.
you roll your eyes before your eyes flutter close and you let him indulge. he takes his time kissing you, long and slow yet hard, and he’s smiling into the kiss.
“ok enough stingy,” you managed to say in between kisses.
you can feel your lip balm being smeared all over your lips and around, all sticky and uncomfortable.
he chuckles, he bite on your bottom lip gently pulling on the flesh as he pulls away slowly before resting his forehead onto yours. a familiar action that makes your thighs clench together.
“you’re calling me stingy when you weren’t gonna share,” he points back, ruffling your hair before he turns your mic back on.
you look at him once more. “aigoo, look at you!”
you grab his wrist before he manages to walk away, pulling him down so he can show his face. his lips are glistening from your make out session and his cheeks are all red.
he gasps when he sees his reflection, immediately straightening up so he’s out of frame.
user theyre so disgustingly cute
user i feel like we’re interrupting something even tho we were here first
user GET A ROOM
user in front of my sandwich too?
you cackle at his reaction, too distracted by him to be reading the comments. tapping the mic once again with your hand.
“look who’s shy when you were begging to kiss me in front of twelve thousand people.” you jokingly tease.
“yah! is it a crime to kiss my girlfriend?”

both leo and (name) were known for being two peas in a pod. ever since leo escaped his first orphanage, he’d met ever so sweet (name). mortal, yes. but so very talented, and beautiful too. it was hard for leo not to fall for her.
and they’ve been best friends ever since. though, ever since leo had been claimed and living in camp half blood, they hadn’t seen each other. they’d send letters, sure, but it was different from actually seeing one another.
that was until leo was sent on another quest with his two other best friends, pipes and jason.
tackled to the ground, he felt the blade’s tip pierce his skin. “who are you?!” the shadowed figure yelled. leo breathed heavily, thinking of something — anything! to pull out of his tool belt. giving up he gave in, sighing.
“leo.. i— leo valdez.” he spoke in a trembling voice. the shadowed figure gasped, “did you just say leo? valdez?” they asked. leo hummed, “yeah.. y-yeah.” he continued to breathe heavily. he laid on his back, the blade now lifting from his neck.
the shadowed figure stepped into the light, “leo..” (name) stood there, she was messy, her hair tattered and a little chopped, and she had dirt all over her face. but to leo, she was still (name) the same kind-hearted and beautiful (name).
leo’s breath hitched, “no.. fucking..” he stood up, lifting her with an embrace. “WAY!!” he yelled happily, he spun her around as they shared a laugh. “oh my gods, you’re.. you’re alive!!” she yelled as he put her down. jason and piper ran down the tunnel, leading to the cavern both leo and (name) were in.
he was the same. leo with his curly brown hair, the grease on his clothes and face, he was still charming, and handsome as he’d ever be.
“LEO!! is everything — .. (NAME)!!” piper’s eyes widened, tackling (name) to the ground. jason had his jaw dropped, leo running to him to close his mouth. “she’s..” jason turned to leo. “alive.” leo breathed, his eyes glued to (name).
“my girl’s alive.” he whispered again, feeling the water build up in his eyes while he watched piper and (name) laugh on the ground, holding in their pained stomachs.
“you mean to tell me you’ve been looking for me?” leo asked, a hot bowl of soup in his hands. (name) gave a bowl to piper, then to jason. “you didn’t write to me after about two weeks and i got worried. i went to camp half blood, telling me you we’re on a quest and they said they haven’t heard from you in days..” she looked down on the ground.
a frown built up on her face, “leo..” she bit her lip, stopping herself from sobbing. “i thought you we’re gone. for good.” leo quickly put the bowl down, “no, no, i’m here. alive? see?” he cupped the sides of her face. (name) stayed silent, holding the back of his hand with her own.
he sighed, dreamily looking into her [eye color] eyes. “you’re as beautiful as the day i lost you, (name).” (name) looked up, locking eyes with leo’s. he smiled, a soft laugh escaping his lips as he kept his hands on her face.
“i’ll swim and sail on savage seas,” he began to sing their childhood song, his eyes filled with compassion so much love as he tucked a strand of hair out of her face.
“with ne’er a fear of drowning.”
“and gladly ride the waves of life..” he continued, picking her up as he took her hands. (name) obliged, watching herself stumble and leo catching her.
“if you will stay beside me.” jason and piper watched the two, sharing a look and back at them. (name) snickered, taking a leaf out of leo’s hair.
“no scorching sun,”
“nor freezing cold..”
he continued, spinning her around. she laughed, interwining their hands.
“will stop me on my journey.” jason picked up the old guitar, and began strumming it. piper hummed with the tune of the instrument, placing her chin on her palm.
“if you will promise me your heart.” (name), eyes wide and taken aback, had her breath taken away. “and love..” he continued, almost urging her to follow and sing along.
she huffed with a smile, “and love me for eternity.” she began to sing along, her own voice complimenting leo’s tune. “my dearest one, my darling dear.” they danced and swayed around the fireplace, the only light that was available to illuminate the cavern.
“your mighty words astound me!” she giggled upon being lifted from the ground by leo again. “but i’ve no need of mighty deeds,” she continued sharing another laugh with leo.
leo spun her, leaving her in his arms, and dipping her. “when i feel your arms around me!” she laughs again.
they felt like kids again, like they were the only people in the world. like, being near each other was the only thing that mattered, and nothing else.
“but i would bring you rings of gold!” leo jumped onto one of the chair-logs and bowed. “i’d even sing you poetry!” he jumped down to meet her gaze and spinning her again. “oh would you?” she shot with a wide smile.
“and i would keep you from all harm!” he grew the fire, and played with a small glint in his hands. “if you would stay beside me.” he held her free hand and his other hand around her waist.
“i have no use for rings of gold!” she laughed, as they danced more fast-paced. “i care not for your poetry.” the pulled away, and,
clap! clap!
“woo!!” piper yelled, cheering them on while she continued clapping for them.
“i only want your hand to hold!” she took his hand and this time, spinning him again. “i only want you near me!” they sang together, smiling ever so wide.
piper and jason clapped their hands together, stomping their feet on the ground to the beat.
“to love, to kiss!” they jumped together on another chair-log and circled around it upon jumping off. “to sweetly hold!”
“for the dancing,” she sang, giving a courtesy.
“and the dreaming.” leo bowed back, giving a wink towards her as he did.
“through all life’s sorrows and delights!”
“i’d keep your love beside me!” they laughed again, dancing a little more fast-paced now. “i’ll swim and sail on savage seas,”
“with ne’er a fear of drowning!”
“and gladly ride the waves of life,”
“if you will stay with meee!”
jason and piper clapped together, giving their praises to the two best friends. the cavern echoed with laughter, and the shared memories of both leo and (name).
the next morning, the trio had to leave for their quest. it wasn’t exactly over, after all. leo kissed the back of (name)’s hand as jason and piper packed. “you really don’t wanna go?” leo asked.
she shook her head, “it’ll only jeapordize your quest cariño.” she smiled, although, tinged with a small hint of sadness.
“but i’ll be here. waiting for your dancing,” she kissed him. leo melted at the touch, smiling dreamily as they pulled away, “and your dreaming, my love.”

"Dany is nothing like her ancestors and she is going to break the pattern by going to be a good queen."- Dany stans. Only they don't acknowledge that she is repeating her ancestors mistakes. Basically her whole arc is why Targs sucked.
“Däny is nothing like her ancestors…” Better not tell her that:
I am blood of the dragon, she told herself. I am Dænerys Stormborn, Princess of Dragonstone, of the blood and seed of Aegon the Conqueror. —AGOT Dâny II
I am Dænerys Stormborn, Dænerys of House Targaryen, of the blood of Aegon the Conqueror and Maegor the Cruel and old Valyria before them. I am the dragon's daughter, and I swear to you, these men will die screaming. Now bring me to Khal Drogo." —AGOT Dâny IX
Remind your Good Master of who I am. Remind him that I am Dænerys Stormborn, Mother of Dragons, the Unburnt, trueborn queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. My blood is the blood of Aegon the Conqueror, and of old Valyria before him." —ASOS Dâny II
Mother of dragons, Dænerys thought. Mother of monsters. What have I unleashed upon the world? A queen I am, but my throne is made of burned bones, and it rests on quicksand. Without dragons, how could she hope to hold Meereen, much less win back Westeros? I am the blood of the dragon, she thought. If they are monsters, so am I. —ADWD Dâny II
No. You are the blood of the dragon. The whispering was growing fainter, as if Ser Jorah were falling farther behind. Dragons plant no trees. Remember that. Remember who you are, what you were made to be. Remember your words. "Fire and Blood," Dænerys told the swaying grass. —ADWD Dâny X
Dæny constantly invokes her ancestors/bloodline as well as her dragons to keep herself brave, to impress others, to remind herself of who she is. Her last chapter has her embracing that Tárg legacy (specifically the one that plants no trees aka destruction), not turning away from it for a lasting peace. The Tárg legacy (or at least her idea of it) is a huge part of her character; you can’t say she’s nothing like her ancestors when she keeps invoking their memory and refuses to listen about any of the ill they (not even Aerys II) did.
“She’s going to break the pattern by being a good queen” there’s certain Tárg kings who are considered good rulers, such as Jæhaerys I and Viserys II. GRRM went out of his way in Fire&Blood to show how awful J1 was (to the dismay of a few fans), hanging small folk by their entrails and mistreating his wife/daughters; and he made sure in ASOS that Oberyn Martell accused V2 of poisoning his nephew. Then there’s Dâron 2 and Aègon V, who fandom considers good, but both caused massive rebellions and A5’s obsession with dragons led him to an early grave. Basically every time there’s a Tàrg that’s supposed to be a good ruler, GRRM ends up showing they’re either violent/murderous, abusive, paranoid, prophecy-obsessed, and kinslayers, not unlike the other Tárgs.
“Basically her whole arc is why the Tárgs suck” you’re right that the Tárg legacy is destructive and holds itself up as superior to the exclusion of others. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t like GRRM’s supplemental books on them (other than being a massive downgrade in characters/plot), because their point was already proven with Dâny, and trying to make sorta competent kings confuses the issue (J1 planted trees/built roads, so there’s still a way for D to honor her family but be a good ruler, when it ignores the context of how the Iron Throne was founded). Basically Dâny has a good arc using the Tárg legacy and dragons to give her the courage she lacked growing up, and struggling to balance her wishes for peace with her reality of trying to take the Throne she views as birthright by conquest, all on her own. But I guess GRRM needs more money and HBO needs more to milk out of the franchise.

b’elanna’s banana pancakes
hello tumblr. it’s been a while since i did some star trek meta. but i’ve just been on a prodigy kick lately and that inevitably brings me back to voyager where i’ve spent some time before unpacking a lot of writing decisions and politics surrounding them. today i want to talk about the most inane detail i could fixate on in b’elanna’s characterization, and this thought hasn’t left me in years so i think maybe i should share it with the class. maybe it will mean something to someone else the way it does to me.
b’elanna’s favorite comfort food is banana pancakes. when she’s feeling down she asks neelix to replicate them for her, and it’s kind of a running staple in moments where b’elanna is feeling emotionally vulnerable. it’s a cute detail, but over the years i’ve turned the detail over and over and wished, pointlessly, that i could somehow go back in time and edit that writing decision and change b’elanna’s favorite pickup meal to something else: fried plantain. if you’re not familiar with latin american cuisine, plantain are a common staple in a lot of dishes but i am specifically to ripe plantain, fried until it’s golden brown and caramelized. it goes by different names depending on the country but it’s a surprisingly widespread dish. there’s even equivalents in west african and southeast asian countries and if you haven’t tried it this is the friendliest recommendation to taste the food of the gods before the end of your life.
i’ll admit the context for this obsession is selfish. i’m latin american, specifically costa rican, and when i watched voyager i couldn’t help but latch on to roxann dawson’s portrayal of a broken, abandoned young woman who learns to love herself and accept the love of others in her life when given the nurturing and patience she deserved all along. this wasn’t just because her character is beautiful in its own right, but because i identified with her as a latin american woman. i could spend a good amount of time talking about the standards of womanhood that i was subjected to growing up latin american but this post is not about that, so i’m going to summarize one of the things that makes b’elanna so important to me as a female latin american character very briefly: it’s her emotional complexity and the compassion with which all her emotions, including the anger and the trauma, are treated while portrayed as a latina character. i wish more than anything i had grown up watching voyager for this specific reason, and now that i’ve actually watched it i feel like a piece of my puzzle has been filled in, and i’m a little closer to whole. which is why it’s all the more curious that b’elanna isn’t exactly written as a latin american character in the first place.
star trek is a very american franchise, written by very american writers, and, with some notable exceptions, very white, cishet, male writers. it’s been talked to death how star trek’s vision of a multicultural world becomes seriously impaired by the lack of diversity in its leading creatives. today i specifically want to address how the franchise has been since its inception, and still is, limiting its potential by how the american cultural zeitgeist dominates its development. it’s a specifically white american zeitgeist, too. the human world regardless of the ethnicity of its members gets steamrolled into a very colorblind world where apparently humans now pride ourselves on our acceptance and embracing of different nations but we are only ever shown cultural expressions consistent with the experiences of modern day white americans. it’s even clearer in the writing of characters of color, like harry kim or geordi laforge, over white non americans like miles o’brien or malcolm reed. there have been exceptions, most notably in the writing of sisko’s family, but for the most part characters of color are not ever shown engaging in any activities that might have been passed down from non white american heritage. this is true even for characters who aren’t even supposed to be american, like uhura who’s meant to be from kenya. it’s not just a disappointment to the core values that the franchise is meant to stand by but also a waste of writing potential and even a loss in what could be a way to connect to potential fans from all over the globe.
back to me, because this post was made because of the very selfish reason that feel like i just need b’elanna to connect a little bit more to me. to my upbringing. i call it selfish because it’s not as clean cut a writing decision as it i make it out to be. latin americans, diaspora or otherwise, are not a monolith even in the 21st century. john torres and his family show again the limitations the writers run into with their limited worldview and they don’t seem to hold on to latin american traditions or cultural heritage. and furthermore, b’elanna herself has mixed feelings on her klingon heritage already but that doesn’t mean that the heritage passed down by the father who abandoned her would be that much easier to embrace. and yet in my mind i can just see little b’elanna eagerly devouring slices of fried plantain made by her father on rare occasions and feeling so utterly loved after being starved so many times of his affection because he shared something with her about himself and made her feel cherished with it. and that nostalgia for that tiny spark of love she felt so many years ago being fanned and set ablaze when her new family learns how to cheer her up with this little gesture that recognizes her roots.
it wouldn’t exactly be an uncomplicated portrayal, it’s not like i want my favorite dish to be equated with deadbeat dads and their shitty racist against klingons families. but i’m just reminded of jacob geller’s discussion on bj blazkowicz’s jewish heritage in the recent wolfenstein video game series. “i just want some recognition that he’s connected to me.” it would mean the world to me, too.

Old Friend
Sidney Prescott x Reader (Female) [Scream 2022]
Warnings: SPOILERS for the whole Scream franchise, Swearing, Mentions of Injuries, Blood and Death (nothing of the sort actually occurs in the fic tho)
Genre: Fluff, Romance, Hurt/Comfort Fluff
Summary: When going back to a hell-hole you thought you’d never revisit again, it’s mandatory you have someone trusted by your side.
Requested by @daydreamsofbee Hi hun! Thank you so much for your request, I’m really sorry it’s taken so long to complete but here it finally is and I hope you enjoy the read! Love, Vy ❤
“This will be your first time meeting aunt Sid, so behave, ok?“ Y/N mumbled to the two year old toddler in front of her as she unbuckled him from his car seat to bring with her into the waiting area of the train station.
“Ok.“ Jacob blabbers absentmindedly, more because it’s one of the few words he’s learned rather than an actual answer to his mother’s question, but it still manages to widen the smile on the woman’s face.
“I’ll take your word for it, buddy.“ She said, locking the car with the press of a button before kissing the top of her son’s head, “Truth be told, I’m the one who needs a pep-talk, not you. If I’m letting a high school crush rattle me like this almost three decades later, I need a serious maturity check.“
Her nervous rambling is met with a giggle from Jacob who’s exhibiting the perfect mix of attentive but distracted as he listens to his mom’s words, the majority of which he doesn’t understand or know yet.
“God, I’m complaining to a two-year-old.“ She sighs to herself, making a mental note to pull herself together and stop talking to seemingly no one as she’s now surrounded by people in the relatively crowded train station where she herself got off about three days ago with the rest of her team, dispatched from the LAPD to help out with the investigation of the reemerged killing spree in the small, quiet town.
Her hometown, the town she escaped as soon as she graduated, moving to Los Angeles to get her bachelor’s in criminal justice. She hasn’t stepped foot here in a decade, which brings on the clockwork element to the situation - ten years ago, a similar situation ensued, provoking her return to Woodsboro, ten years after having left for college. Now, ten years later, she’s back again and for the same unpleasant reason, but with the same silver lining.
Sidney Prescott.
The woman currently looking at her with a smile that time has not been able to change. A smile which de-ages Y/N back to her high school days of careless and reckless fun with the two girls she couldn’t imagine her life without. The memory stings, the bittersweet taste it provokes settling in her mouth as she’s once again reminded of Tatum and Randy. Hell, even the memory of Billy and Stu, the ones she knew before everything went to shit. It grounds a lump in her throat, leaving her to chase away it’s unpleasantness with the best smile she can muster as Sidney approaches her.
“Y/N!” The two women envelop each other in a warm familiar embrace - as much as they can with one of them holding a toddler in her arms, “God, did time stop for you or did you stop time for yourself?“ She asks, pulling away from her friend to look at the pair of curious blue eyes staring at her in awe, “Hi there, little guy.”
“Hi.“ Jacob replies, throwing his usual shyness out the window, much to the surprise of his mom.
“This guy right here begs to differ.“ She replies, inwardly cursing herself for the effect Sidney’s words have taken, sending a bubbling like sensation in her chest. “Sid, this is Jacob. Jacob, meet auntie Sid.“
Sidney is quick to dismissively shake her head, “Drop the ‘auntie’. You’re making me feel old.“
Y/N scoffs, “Says you, you vampire. You haven’t aged a day in a decade.”
“Yeah, what a miracle. With all these looney stabbers around, I’m surprised neither of us has lost the color of our hair yet.“ She sighs, her words reminding Y/N of why she’s here in the first place.
Right...this isn’t a high school reunion....although that would probably be worse now that I think about it
”Pretty sure we would if we didn’t have each other.”
The words slipped past her lips so fast she probably wouldn’t have caught them even if she did happen to see them coming.
Aren’t I a little too old to let crap like this...
“Then I’ll make sure not to leave your side, Officer.“ Sid says, a smirk taking over where the semi-forced smile previously resided, “As long as you promise to not leave mine.“
Nevermind...guess it worked? What does ‘worked’ even entail at this point?
Swallowing a little harder than usual, Y/N nods, one tooth away from grinning like an idiot, “I promise, old friend.”
“Drop the ‘old’!“
“Like hell I will!“
Old or not, if someone asks, the most adequate description of Y/N and Sidney’s relationship is by calling them friends. After all, on the surface, they aren’t anything else, right? Well, partially right. But, if you bother to read a bit more into the arm Sidney links with the Y/N’s as they make their way out to the latter’s car, you’d know there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes. The curtain hides a lot, but not everything.
You can dig deeper as well: their gazes, smiles and the inside jokes. The way they first seek each other out to ensure the other’s safety when in the tightest and tensest of situations.
But, let’s be honest, not everyone would bother. Just like Y/N would rather lie than touch that emotional can of worms inside her with a ten foot pole. Calling Sidney an ‘old friend’ is as close as she’ll get to admitting what she actually is to her: her oldest heartthrob.

I watched kung fu panda 1 & 2 back to back and Cried. MY THOUGHTS AND FAVORITE PARTS BELOW!!
‪I fucking love movies that are so confident in themselves and their identities. Kung fu panda was never unsure of itself it just went All in on amazing fight choreography and colors and animation and Awesomeness silliness . AND INCREDIBLE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS. ALL THE CHARACTER INTERACTIONS ARE SO BELIEVABLE. No forced heterosexual romance?? (Or ANY romance.) In MY western animated 2008 movie?? What is this????!!!
I fucking love that Tai Lung is hyped up so MUCH to be unstoppable and intimidating throughout this whole movie and yet the final battle with Po is so believable. They didn’t nerf Tai Lung at all to be equal with Po, Po is just so confident of himself and his fighting style is unlike anything Tai has ever encountered. HE HAS NEVER FACED SILLY FIGHTING. That’s his weakness….. He wasn’t silly enough. And throughout the film Po is like. Really doubting who he is and hating on himself but it’s so empowering by the end. He’s just so Him! And IT WORKS!!!!!!!!
Okay ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were a lot of really cool shots like this😊😊😊 it’s kind of an anime .
Tumblr media
Tai lung is so awesome and idk he’s hot too what else do I say. Great backstory too. Although I wish he had a little more.. why was he so power hungry? Was he just Like That. Fair. Also They make thr villans kind of objectively hot in this franchise. I wouldn’t PERSONALLY…. But if you said you would… I totally get that….
Tigress is the best character also. She was totally living in tai lung’s shadow I wish she got more validation from shifu it’s so sad. I LOVE HOW WELL THE FLASHBACKS SHOW DONT TELL !!!
OK ACTUALLY MAYBE OOGWAY IS THE BEST CHARACTER. I love how they made him so old and trembly. But so wise and at peace . That’s a silly detail but I liked it ok
Also shifu and po’s dynamic is so fucking good. And very cute! HAVE I SAID GREAT CHARACTER INTERACTIONS. The “you may now eat” dumpling bowl scene is the best scene in the whole movie. It’s so delightful.. probably followed by tai lung’s prison breakout and oogway’s passing.. THE RANGE OF THIS FILM!!!!!!
I love the “you’re a monster and I created you but I loved you” thing going on with shifu and tai lung.. I’m crazy.
Tumblr media
Oops that’s another tai lung gif it was an accident!!! I would pet him and then I would die
I just wish the rest of the 5 got to have some more character development but there’s Five of them and that’s a Lot . The sprinkles we get of their characters is nice though ! I mean Sprinkles. TELL ME MORE ABOHT VIPER PLEASE SHES SUCH A SWEETHEART. WHAT WAS HER CHARACTER GROWTH WITH NOT HAVING FANGS… tell me….. do the others have something about them too…
Anyways super fuckin iconic movie and beautiful
Another thing I liked was when the characters made Animal Noises of their irl counterparts like tai lung making kitty meow (in pain) and shen making peacock calls while fighting. I just love little details like That okay!!!
Me???? Crying at kung fu Panda 2 ? Po finally coming to terms with his past repressed childhood memories and his village being massacred and from that still being able to embrace who he is in the present got to me ok‬!
Shen is so tragic and Delightfully Evil. He’s so unhinged and he has so much inner turmoil that he Never reflects on constructively. And He’s destructive about it! She’s a sadistic War criminal! And a little bit theater kid. very Theatrical. Kind of gay. “Your parents never loved you” PROJECTING MUCH? ?? 💔💔 AND THE WAY HE JUST ACCEPTS HIS DEATH FROM HIS OWN WEAPON AT THE END. He literally just closes his eyes and Takes It at point blank range. He was not ok. He reached a point of no return the moment he tried to kill off the pandas. AND HE WOULD RATHER DIE THAN SHOW WEAKNESS HES SO FUCKED!!!and My friend used to have a crush on him. Did I mention cool as fuck character design. I love his metal talon things it makes him that much more menacing
Tumblr media
Ok girl your scary
My friend made such a good observation about the inner peace/raindrop motif. The raindrop/drop of water that keeps hitting his head… annoying him… nagging at him… that’s symbolism for his Repressed Memories.. his identity crisis .. the incredible repeating urge to need to know who he is So Bad so much so that he’ll go in DEATHS WAY to know!! 🥴 AND IN THE SCENE WHERE HE RELIVES IT… IT RAINS… AND HES OK WITH IT…. THIS MOVIE IS FUCKING BEAUTOFUL AND I WASNT EXPECTING ANY LESS!!!!!!
ALSO I LOVED THE FOCUS ON TIGRESS / PO INTERACTIONS IT WAS SO CUTE. I’m so happy they’re friends now.. tigress definitely hated him The Most in the first movie . she called him a disgrace to kung fu and everything it stands for To his Face. Ouch ! But they are chill now I think.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’re so fucking sad and wet here. I love them…
I’m also glad they toned down the fatphobia in the 2nd movie . In the first film Even though it was usually framed as a hurtful thing towards Po, it was also frequently used as a joke thing at his expense💔kinda mean spirited !! But hes still framed as cool and awesome anyways so. Ur giving Mixed Messages….
MR PING IS SUCH A GOOD DAD. WAAUUHGHHHHHHHHHH HE CARES ABOUT PO SO MUCH
There are certain details you might not pick up on if you dont watch these movies back to back also. I like how Mr Ping mentioned he wish he sold tofu in the first movie and then in the second movie he sells both noodles AND tofu now!! It’s just very cute and shows that a lot of care and passion goes into these :)
What a great franchise also. I saw the 2nd movie once on theaters and I only remembered parts of it. I’ve never seen the 3rd movie! And I just might!! DREAMWORKS DOESNT DISAPPOINT!!usually

Editor’s note: The following interview was conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike began on July 14, 2023.]
Rebecca Ferguson is ready for a break. She’s finished her A.D.R. (additional dialogue) on “Dune: Part Two,” the promotion chores on “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” (her third in the series), and is on her way home to hang with her 16-year-old son and still-friendly first husband in Sweden.
She was prepared to go back to England’s Hoddesdon Studios to shoot the second season of “Silo,” the most popular series on AppleTV+, returning her to the lead role of Sheriff. Not necessary, as the day after we spoke, July 13, SAG-AFTRA announced they were going on strike. “The percentage of people fortunate enough to have a good life as actors have to fight for the other percentage,” she said on the phone.
The 39-year-old actress, who grew up in Stockholm, attended a bilingual English school, and trained as a dancer, has steadily built herself into a major star. Who else goes toe-to-toe with Tom Cruise and returns to do it again, twice, without simply being a romantic appendage? It makes perfect sense that her best friend on the set of “Dune” was Charlotte Rampling. “She’s absolutely exquisite,” she said. “I look up to and admire her ridiculously.”
...
The actress rejects the notion of ever “going up against” Tom Cruise, who wanted her for Ilsa after seeing her in the “War of the Roses” mini-series “The White Queen.” “It’s not a battle,” she said. “You go in with the mission of trying to survive. It is written by the incredible Christopher McQuarrie, and Tom is part of that journey. They want phenomenal characters. It merged beautifully, the character [Ilsa] with me: the time, the place, the relationship with Tom all worked with well. The trajectory of this character is so complex and interesting to work with. I asked for a continuation. The story writes itself.”
The actress does not even try to keep up with Cruise. For one thing, she doesn’t perform all her own stunts. If she has to fall out of a speeding car, she leaves that to her beloved stunt double Lucy Cork.
Ferguson did, however, handle the climactic “Dead Reckoning” fight on the bridge herself, she said. “I tend to be running far behind, but I try. Tom is the movie. He represents ‘Mission,’ everything that’s good, and thankfully nothing bad has come from it. You are offered a palette of knowledge: you learn it and do it and embrace it. You also can choose to say ‘no.’ They will find a solution around it, you’re never forced to do it.”
She gamely tried to master riding a motorcycle, and had to earn a license. “You have to learn quickly,” she said. “I had to be ready to shoot soon. It was a 760 Triumph, a big motorbike. I am very strong, but being on one of these on a road in England going fast — the trainer said I was going too slow. ‘I need to get off; it’s not safe. I don’t trust myself.’ No worries! They had other options: Jennie [Tinmouth], the best motorcycle bike rider in the world.”
This “Mission: Impossible” installment boasts more women than usual including Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, and Hayley Atwell. “‘Mission’ is probably the one franchise that knows how to write storylines for women,” said Ferguson, who takes the scripts as they come. “They break things down; there’s not a lot of going into detail about what happened. You do not talk about it. There’s always reasons why arcs go a certain way,” she said. I control my own destiny [as Ilsa], there are reasons why things happen.” (A very compelling notation, given what happens to Ilsa in the latest film.)
“Silo” has turned out to be the happiest experience of Ferguson’s career, partly because she is an executive producer, but mostly, she said, because showrunner-creator Graham Yost (“Speed”) runs a non-hierarchical set. “I don’t like it when people are more important than others,” she said. “A happy set becomes creative and a safe set becomes a safe space.”
.....
What’s most important with each character for Ferguson, besides building up the right physique, is to “create a silhouette,” she said. “Then you’ve nailed a memorable figure, say, Cruella de Vil, through movement.” Working with movement coach Alexandra Reynolds (“The Theory of Everything”) she expressed the trauma Juliette stores in her body. “She carries a lot of internal grief and internally, and is socially uncomfortable, and is walking away when people touch her. She’s tactile with her own tools and her own world,” Ferguson said. “I often take on powerful characters and portray regal princesses and countesses and concubines, so my agenda was to completely break down and find in myself the capacity to do something else with Juliette.”
At first when the mechanic is named sheriff, she wants to solve the mystery of her lover’s death. “I find Juliette selfish in the beginning, she’s a broken heroine who gradually realizes there are things bigger than herself,” she said. “I love where we are going to in Season 2. She definitely learns new tricks and things get very wet.”
Next up: “Dune: Part Two” (November 3, Warner Bros.) is in the hands of the editors and composer Hans Zimmer. Assuming the strikes are resolved by October, Ferguson will be back on the promo trail.
Returning to Lady Jessica offered a character in transition. “She starts as a powerful, knowledgeable, magical mother and protector on a quest and a journey to make Paul into the leader,” she said. “She’s on a path to see the creation she has made and how is this new Jessica in relation to what her son has become? He’s more forceful, what does she do? She’s a significantly important person to the Fremen.”

I’m sitting here trying to figure out wtf others are so pressed that Chris does cons? Who cares? Like seriously, why is it a big conversation that he does cons? So he gave up playing Steve Rogers in films, that doesn’t mean he’s not allowed to embrace 10 years of his career. That’s how he makes some of his money. He played an iconic character and will be known for that character for a very long time until the franchise gets rebooted eventually in the future. Who cares that Scarlett and RDJ don’t do cons? Chris does cons because he wants to. Scarlett and RDJ don’t because they probably don’t want to. And? Anons, are you upset because you couldn’t go and want to rain on others parades? Is it because you are secretly pissed that he got married (to anyone) and just want to find something to sh*t on him for? Seriously, at this point, if you don’t like him leave the fandom maybe? Because questioning why he’s doing cons is just stupid IMHO. What if someone questioned why you’re doing what you’re doing to make money constantly? If people are paying and still interested in taking pictures and having their items autographed, why wouldn’t he keep doing cons? 🙄
Ariel and I just had this exact conversation minutes ago 🦎

Nightmares & fights [thyme x reader]
@deepestturtledragon here!
authors note: thank you for requesting i’ve been waiting for months lmaoaoaooa i hope this is what you expected☹️ also, sorry this took so long, i had a writers block+ it’s been a while since i last watched f4😭
warnings: immature y/n and thyme(per usual lol) also, character might be ooc bc yeah🤗 || grammar mistakes
[2:05 AM]
Thunder stomped down the earth fiercely, waking Thyme from his already light slumber. He sat up in cold sweat, breath heaving in a fast pace. He hurriedly jumped from his bed and went his way to the guest room, also known as your temporary room. Both of you had yet another childish fight leading to sleeping in different rooms. Sucking up his pride, Thyme quietly opened the door to the room and jumped beside you, wrapping his arms around your waist tightly, his eyes shut tight. You groaned in your sleep, furrowing your eyebrows before opening your eyes to see the cause of the weight. “Thyme..” you mumbled groggily. He didn’t answer, adrenaline from the sudden fear still enveloping him. You adjusted your position, facing him. You smiled weakly and pat his hair. “You’re such a big baby! Get off, you’re heavy.” You whined, wiggling from his embrace. “But, [name]! Didn’t you hear that loud thunder earlier?” He pouted. “Yeah, I did. But you’re 19. A full adult.” You protested.
“So what? Come on, lay back downnn!” He whined, pulling you back to the bed. You rolled your eyes, giving in. He hugged your figure. Keeping you in place with his legs. “I still don’t forgive you, you know?” You huffed, turning your head in a different direction. “You’re still not over that?” He groaned, his grip loosens. “What? You think I’d forget that easily?” You bark, frustrated. “Am i that easy to you?” You added, pushing his tangled limbs away and stomping out the door, not entirely sure where to go.
Ultimately, you ended up in the kitchen. You opened the fridge door and stared at it blankly. The fridge suddenly closed, waking you from your stance. Thyme sighed softly, pressing your figure to his and giving a quick peck to your head. “Look, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.” You secretly smiled at his words, burying your face in his puffy pajamas. He clasped your hands in his. “Forgive me now?” He asked with pleading eyes. You rolled your eyes and laughed. “Perhapsss— only if!” You raised a finger. “You get me mcdonalds right now.” You smiled. “Done.” He beamed back, engulfing you back in his arms.
Bonus:
“Thyme… what the hell?!” You screamed. “What?” He asked, his head tilting in confusion. “When I meant mcdonalds, i didn’t mean a literal franchise! For fuck’s sake I just wanted some cheeseburgers and an oreo flurry!”
“Welp, it’s done. It’s your fault for not being specific. Face palm. “You’re the only psycho who would buy a mcdonalds branch at 3 am, in pouring rain!” You groaned. Let’s just say, this scenario repeats regularly. But don’t blame him, he’s just so lovesick for you.

Audiobook review: Maya Phillips on her life as a proud “Nerd”
Tumblr media
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, “nerd” is a “mildly derogatory” term that emerged in 1950s America to describe someone who’s “socially inept.” Today, the dictionary allows, it can also describe someone who embraces “a highly technical interest.”
While listening to the confident sweep of Maya Phillips’s Nerd: Adventures in Fandom from This Universe to the Multiverse, I kept returning to the title. Does the mildly derogatory “nerd” still have any meaning, I wondered, in a world where fantasy franchises have consumed the box office and where the fandoms Phillips embraces are avidly explored across the media spectrum? It seems like nerds have become, well, pretty cool.
Then, last night, I had a moment where I realized I was wearing an Ewok onesie, reading The Two Towers, and texting my friends about Star Trek wall calendars while my wife lay beside me reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Nerds.
Not until the very end of Nerd does Phillips explicitly engage with the idea that anyone might question the use of her time to dive deep on anime, comics, and novels about invented worlds. The bulk of Nerd is a series of chapters exploring weighty topics — among them religion, mental health, and race — through the lens of the author’s life. In each, Phillips explains how various imagined universes intersected with her own, providing inspiration and food for thought.
Chapter five, for example, is titled “The Slytherin Firebender of Sunagakure: Self-identification with fandom, racial and national identities in space westerns, and the persistent fantasy of manifest destiny.” It opens during “Christian existence” class in Phillips’s Catholic high school; develops into an examination of the fantasy-universe personality typology trope (Hogwarts houses, Avatar: The Last Airbender nations, Sex and the City characters); considers that phenomenon in the context of real-world signifiers like race and class; rolls back into an evocation of family road trips; and from there launches into a broader consideration of frontiers and identities in vintage westerns, Star Trek, Cowboy Bebop, Star Wars, and Firefly.
The book is so wide-ranging that it could be approached as a geography of contemporary imaginative universes, seen through the author’s individual lens. Unless you’re as well-versed as Phillips is regarding everything from Buffy to Akira, you’re bound to learn something about the fandoms you’re less familiar with. Phillips is generous in providing footholds for people with varying levels of knowledge about her subjects, but Nerd isn’t a 101: readers are expected to know offhand what a mecha is, and what “ship” means as a verb not involving transportation.
Growing up as a gen-X nerd, I scoured my local library shelves for nonfiction books about fantastic universes and found mostly hagiographies of pop filmmakers, dusty histories of Golden Age science fiction, and the occasional behind-the-scenes book. For serious pop culture analysis, I had The Parables of Peanuts and that was about it. From this perspective, it was gratifying to find that Phillips makes the occasional historical reference but isn’t bound by the past. Her emphasis is on the texts she’s encountered, and how they’ve been relevant to her life in real time.
Phillips also takes a dynamic approach to the creator-fan relationship, reflecting the potentially fraught realities of an era when J.K. Rowling can tweet retcons at whim even as her readers share their own takes on the Harry Potter canon. (Phillips and her friends, she writes, won’t entertain the Fantastic Beasts prequels as canon, nor do they credit “the Epilogue That Will Not Be Named.”) Phillips also addresses Rowling’s transphobia, about which Harry Potter’s creator is so resolutely unapologetic that any reference to her formerly ubiquitous fantasy universe is now potentially fraught.
The Nerd author narrates the audiobook herself with a confident, deliberate cadence. It’s gratifying to hear the text in her own voice, but the linear experience of an audiobook can present challenges for listeners who dip in and out. Nerd is a great listen if you have long, uninterrupted stretches of time to spend with it, but in shorter bursts, without the ability to readily flip pages, it can be challenging to hold all the threads of Phillips’s carefully crafted arguments.
Nerd constitutes a testament to the real-world power of imagined universes, and for the importance of remaining critically engaged even while meeting these stories on their own terms. “These worlds only belong to children, we’ve been told for so long, with the understanding that imagination, hope, and dreams may only survive in the innocence of childhood,” Phillips writes, “and yet, if the multiverse can teach us anything, it’s that reality is what we make it. The possibilities are endless.”
It’s a stirring sentiment, and I don’t just say that because I’m wearing a Baby Yoda onesie.

i saw another take about how sexualizing dick grayson and ignoring his character is bad or whatever, and the argument includes the fact that he’s been SA’d and that if he was a female character people would be up in arms about it.
first of all this man is sexy as fuck. i know it. you know it. DC knows it bc they keep selling me sexy comic variants and i keep buying them. it’s okay to sexualize him because he’s a fictional character who will never know. and if we used the “oh but what if he was a woman” claim that means we shouldn’t sexualize anyone, leaving the only historically sexualized characters to be women. also, his sexualization by DC leads me to believe that his comics are more often read by women and queer men—and they’re catering to it. not a “win” per se but an interesting observation.
his sexy persona doesn’t negate his experiences nor his character as a whole. (if we really wanted to get into the nitty gritty of it, i could argue that dick’s sexualization and objectification are a self-imposed unhealthy coping mechanism for his trauma but that’s too meta for DC to have thought of) he can do both. part of his character is brushing off his trauma in front of others, so can we mistake fans for falling for his misdirects? also…people who have been SA’d can still be sexy and be sexualized (with consent if they’re real people) and like being SA’d doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ever see them in a sexual context again. if that were true i’d be miserable and a virgin lol
also, we’re literally talking about batman here, one of the most widely-loved franchises in the world where most people haven’t actually read a single batman comic let alone all of them, it’s impossible. same goes for nightwing, who has a more reasonable solo series to finish, but still isn’t for the faint of heart. you don’t have to be an expert on dick grayson to like him and think he’s hot. he is a kind, light-hearted person who’s just too hard on himself and struggles to find a sense of identity.
“and here we slap the ‘sexy’ identity on him.” well…yeah. we’re allowed to do it. turning to fanfiction of all things and expecting it to portray dick honestly is just a dumb expectation because a large chunk of fanfiction is sexual and even if you aren’t reading sexual fics, you’re still reading the works of amateur writers who don’t write for DC. the fun thing about fanfiction is that you can do whatever you want and some writers choose to ignore things and you’re reading their work for free.
dick grayson as an objectifiable character is so fascinating. like i think asking questions about why dick became the sexiest character in DC, why DC embraces it, why his current writer is all over it despite being a straight man could be fun. what does this say about comics culture and the state of sex in popular sequential art? what happens if he does become a sex icon, and is that even truly possible? how does it interact with DC’s growing cast of queer characters? what does it say about the relationship between DC and queer audiences?
i think coming to the conclusion that sexualizing dick grayson is bad and it shouldn’t happen leaves out so many interesting nuances and factors at play that have created this unique situation. and like…he’s sexy as fuck. i love owning a dick grayson swimsuit cover.

Finally got around to watching Puss and Boots: The Last Wish… my head is incredibly full of (extremely positive) thoughts that I just have to unleash on the internet. **INCOMING SPOLIERS**
The premise of the movie already held plenty of promise- a hero down to his last limbs, the classic humbling of an egotist. In this case, a cat on his last life. It´s a set-up that´s honestly quite easy for writers to embrace with a straightforward theme: don’t take life for granted. So Dreamworks could’ve settled for the basic and still produced something pretty good but they did. Not. Settle.
Rather than a slow decline towards a humbling, Puss becomes vulnerable within the first 15 minutes when he encounters Death. From there, his identity-burial and trip to retirement set up the story for not just a lesson on appreciating what you have, but also what you can have if you’re willing to change for the better. It´s sweet, and it gets better with the introduction of Perrito.
Ngl, I was a bit skeptical about El Perrito when the movie began. I’m not a fan of perfect gag characters who simply exist for forcing life lessons upon the main characters and a quick laugh. El Perrito could’ve been one of those guys, but he absolutely wasn’t thanks to the way the writers walked the fine line between taking him seriously and as a joke with excellent balance. The scene where he comforted Puss through his anxiety attack was such a fantastic way of not only acknowledging the tangible effects of mental health issues but also the value of mental health care. (Go therapy dogs! <3) Also the humor drawn out of his backstory was absolutely foul in the best way. I probably busted a lung when he started cussing out the Bears.
Speaking of comedy, Big Jack was an unexpectedly hilarious villain. He really reminded me of how refreshing it can be to have a bad guy without a complex backstory, just some grade A asshole who’s never going to be satisfied even if he’s lived the most privileged life. We’ve got plenty of those assholes out here in the real world so its plenty of fun watching their downfall. Loved him and Jiminy´s interactions.
I already knew from the trailer and plenty of tweets that the animation was going to be impressive, but man, there’s nothing like seeing it in person. The fight sequencing was extremely creative and fun from the start. (Puss vs the Sleeping Giant absolutely had to have been inspired by Attack on Titan and we love to see it.) The detailing form Puss´ goosebumps to Goldí´s necklaces made the whole viewing super immersive. And man. The aesthetic choices (like holy cow that one red and black scene were Puss was running from Death in the Cave of lost souls??) were basically perfect. Pretty, intense, the whole package.
The romance between Puss and Kitty was just zesty enough to not be cringe. Tension, pining, sweet interactions… I’m sold. A solid found family with Perrito, but we can’t forget the most lovable and heart wrenching family: Goldi and the Three Bears. The sibling dynamic was both very real and hilarious to watch. But more importantly, Goldi’s gradual realization was a super engaging side plot that added a great parallel to puss. 10/10.
As for Death… goosebumps man. That wolf whistle was chilling- you can’t help but get the same raised hairs as Puss. A damn good take on the Grim Reaper archetype. Everything about him from his design to his lines had me running mental laps in the theater.
Overall, it’s such a relief to see Dreamworks genuinely valuing creative animation and powerful storytelling- they´ve been changing the game ever since Spiderverse came out. They didn’t really have to put their heart and soul into this movie seeing as it´s already part of one of the most cherished franchises ever made, but they did! And the fact that the movie was rooted in earnest passion really shows!

Death Note Matchup: Amane Misa #2
Warnings: Fluff.
@repostingmyfavs Request: Hi! If you not to busy I have a request, could you match me up with a death note charecter. Their gender doesn’t matter to me, I have a crush on literally all the characters in the franchise so.
I am 5’3. I dye my hair all the time! Currently, I am sporting hot pink as a hair color. I have a green eyes. I’m very pale. I can’t even go in the sun without coming out with a huge sunburn. I wear these black glasses. I tend to always be blushing.
I am gender fluid and bisexual. I tend to have trouble picking out what to wear because sometimes I wanna dress feminine, sometimes masculine and sometimes even neither or both. So my style can really fluctuate.
Yellow is my favorite color. I love to read, write, play video games and even cosplay. I’ve been told my smile can light up the days of others, so I try to smile a lot.
I tend to hide my feelings so I’m not a burden. I am very bubbly and energetic but also quite anxious and sensitive. I am easily taken advantage of for my kindness.
I tend to look on the good side of things. I love to give hugs, and not to brag but I give the best hugs.
Thank you so much! Take your time and don’t forget to eat and rest!
.
.
.
After going through the information given, I believe that you pair well with Amane Misa!
Oh my gosh, you’re taller than Misa! You’re still petite and cute, but Misa likes looking up at you and squishing your cheeks to grab your attention. Furthermore, she loves your style! Pink hair? It looks so good on you and she must say, your lovely blushing cheeks matches your hair quite well.
Don’t worry about your sunburns. Once Misa finds out that you have sensitive skin, she will immediately go to the nearest dermatologist, pharmacy, or wherever just so she can get you some heavy duty sunblock. In the interest of preserving your skin and keeping you healthy, she also suggests a skincare routine. Don’t worry, she’ll take into account your interests and the time that you have available to complete your routine. At the end of the day, though, you will see results and your skin will start glowing with your inherent beauty!
She may not show it sometimes, Misa can be mischievous. If you’re not paying attention, she’ll snatch up your glasses and start wearing them for fun. She thinks your glasses are cute and fits your personality.
Genderfluid? Ohhhh! Misa doesn’t understand at first, but after you explain it to her, she will be jumping up and down for joy. While her entire life is dedicated to upholding traditional beauty standards, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t like experimenting and embracing new ideas. When she realizes that you like to be more masculine or more feminine at times, she immediately gets to work dragging you to different stores and malls just so you can get your full range of outfits. Misa didn’t grow up with money so she knows how to get the best deals!
On those days where you can’t choose between different ranges of styles, Misa will be there to help you out. You might feel like she’s a fashion critic, but she means well. Regardless of how you want to present yourself, you will end up looking your best and fashionable.
Misa doesn’t get the appeal of video games, but she enjoys watching you play. Sometimes, she’ll sit in your lap with her head tucked against your chest or she’ll lay her head on your lap. Be sure to pet her hair or pat her cheeks every once in a while because she adores physical affection.
What Misa really loves about your hobbies is your cosplays! Can the both of you do a couples cosplay? Or maybe a cosplay of both of your favorite characters? She’ll help you pack for conventions and do your makeup if you aren’t able. (Please let her do your makeup. She’s artistically inclined and being in an intimate position like touching your face and combing your hair is cathartic and comforting for her).
Smile for Misa. She loves it. Don’t be surprised if you find out that her camera roll has dozens of pictures of you smiling. She claims that it brightens up her day. (If you check her social media accounts, you can see that she doesn’t post about you often and when you ask her, she’ll selfishly declare that it’s because she wants to keep your smile for herself).
Please don’t hide your true feelings from her. If there’s one thing she’s learned from past relationships and from romance novels, it’s that partners should be earnest and true to each other. Repressing emotions isn’t always a bad thing, but if you don’t have the proper, healthy outlets, you might end up doing damage to yourself and others. You don’t have to tell her right away, only when you’re ready. Please trust her, she’ll make sure to support you the entire way.
You give the hugs and she’ll give the kisses! And yes, Misa can and will confirm; you do, indeed, give the best hugs.
In conclusion, the both of you are quite cute together! Just be sure to tell Misa if you’re feeling overwhelmed; she tends to get carried away if you don’t intervene.

So, I just finished played through the entire Deus Ex franchise and I still can't recommend it enough. The best part is that it sells stupidly cheap whenever Steam has a sale going.  That said, the Embracer Group is saying that they want sequels and remakes. Sequels are fine. We could use another adventure to tie Jensen's stories to JC Denton. Remakes, however, are VERY dangerous territories. The original is widely considered, by many, to be their favorite game of all time. I agree. Why fix what isn't broken? Why mess with perfection? Well, it isn't perfect. Time has started to show the cracks.
The game is beloved for it's hammy voice acting and immersive gameplay. For the time it was made, it did a FANTASTIC job illustrating that you're playing about 5 minutes before the end of the world. That said, the game is sparse nowadays. Especially compared to the prequels. Mods like GMDX and Revision have done their share to modernize it, but there's only so much they can do. A remake of the first Deus Ex would have to retain the general layout of the original game. That's non-negotiable. The real challenge would be working with modernizing augmentations and skills. The first game used XP, to be allocated at the player's discretion, to upgrade different skills. Lockpicking, hacking, pistols, ect. Augs were upgraded with upgrade canisters. The prequels did away with skill points to just focus on augs. XP would build up to new Praxis kits to upgrade augs. Besides upgrading them that way, you could always purchase Praxis kits or find them in the world. Still, they can’t just sacrifice aspects like lockpicks and multitools. Some skills are redundant like weapons abilities. Others, like technical skills, seem logical to keep. Still, that doesn’t cover how your augs could grow naturally as you gain XP.
If they do remake the original, I'd love to see more shout outs to the prequels. I always liked to think that the free clinic in Hell's Kitchen was a repurposed LIMB clinic. Mankind Divided did a great job in showing that the golden age was over. They can keep it going. Touching on how sparse the original looks, Human Revolution and Mankind Divided spoiled plenty of people with their "clutter porn" environments, too. To see the rundown, warzone streets of New York again with that design outlook would be great. If they kept the special dialogue between NPCs, it’d be perfect. Every time you returned to New York, it looked worse. It really illustrated that the United States was a third-world country that was on the brink of dying.
Some shout outs to earlier games would be welcome too. The prequels did a lot to change aesthetically to resemble the original. Moreover, they had a lot of small details that mentioned organizations or individuals in the original game. Signs for Tai Yong Medical or an e-mail in one of the triad bases talking about the Dvali. Stuff like that. The prequels also built a VERY large expanded universe. It’d be good to tie up those loose ends by the time of the original game. Of course, the remake would have to keep a basis in the newer mechanics. Cover, takedowns, bigger environments. If they keep the original layouts, they'd still have to expand upon them. There's no way to fuck up improving the character models. After the prequels, mech augs look almost silly with light blue metal jutting over clothing. If they give us Gunther Hermann with black augs and his trademark red eyes... hoo boy.  At the very least, they could make JC and Paul Denton look like 20-somethings instead of 40-somethings.
They’d have to touch up the voice acting. That’s contentious because the bad voice acting is loved by fans of the original. “JC Denton. In da fresh.” Funny as that may be, it couldn’t work nowadays. Now, Jay Anthony Franke still does occasional VO work so he might return to voice JC and Paul again. That said, if JC and Paul ARE clones of Adam Jensen, Elias Toufexis could always lend his voice.  All in all, if they stay true to the basics of making an immersive sim and the basics of their own Deus Ex prequels, a remake of the original should work. As for Invisible War, there's no changes they could make that wouldn't make the game instantaneously better. They could honestly spare to rewrite entire chunks of Invisible War. There's no satisfying ending. Not really. The gameplay was built to be less of an immersive sim/RPG and more of a corridor shooter with RPG elements, built for consoles. There's potential, but it's under SO MANY layers of crap.
