Opening Ceremony of 200 hours of the Yoga Teacher Training Course in the December 2023 Session. It's a great welcome to be part of us joining together to light up and continue with your yogic life journey.
The ceremony was done very peacefully this winter morning, with divine music and chanting connecting all the souls to each other who participate here by body, mind, and heart.

When you practice yoga, you do a lot of stuff like asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation. For many of these kriyas you need to sit down. And yogic scriptures also recommend a specific sitting posture for a particular asana or kriya. When you use the recommended posture, the benefits of that kriya get multiplied. However, not everyone is comfortable in all these postures. Sometimes, your physical condition does not allow you to sit in that posture. In that case, you are allowed to choose the posture that is comfortable for you. Here are some of the sitting postures from which you can choose for yourself and practice it. These sitting postures, even when practiced individually (not combined with any asana or kriya) have their own benefits.

I read a sad piece articleย a few weeks ago about how hard it is to make real friends as an adult, but that actually runs counter to my experience, largely thanks to yoga. Iโ€™ve made many permanent friends in almost a decade that I have been practicing, my yearly trips to Mysore, classes that I conduct, and just hanging out at the studio. These arenโ€™t โ€œsituational friends,โ€ either, but people with whom I can have deep discussions, if the need for such a thing actually ever manifests. The word โ€˜Yogaโ€™ has so much importance in Indian History and culture. Yoga is a timeless pragmatic science that evolved over thousands of years dealing with a human's physical, moral, mental, and spiritual well-being.
However, Yoga is not for him who gorges too much, nor for him who starves himself. It is not for him who sleeps too much, nor for him who stays awake. By moderation in eating and resting, by regulation in working, and by concordance in sleeping and waking, Yoga destroys all pain and sorrow.
