Alhaitham: It isn't a surprise that you don't know he's a yandere, he is perfect in hiding his darker thoughts, it isn't a surprise either that you think he doesn't like you, even as a yandere he will be distant most of the time, he just doesn't know how to deal with his strong feelings.

The break up doesn't happen, Alhaitham's studies you so well that he can predict anything you do before you do it, he is like an akasha terminal with only information about you. He will admit that knowing that you think he hates you actually hurt him a bit, but it's all okay, all missunderstandings are cleared now, and you wont leave him again.

"Why would you think I'm unhappy, I'm never happier than when I am with you, remove such silly thoughts from your mind, dear"

Signora: It's not hard to imagine why you would think she is unhappy, she views herself as above you, that you should feel honored to be with her. No matter what she does or what she says, she never feels unhappy being with you.

Signora's reaction to you trying to break up is rage, how dare you leave her, it will take a while for her to calm down and hear you out. After hearing you think she is unhappy, she will start to be softer towards you, she doesn't want this to happen again. You will recieve more compliments even if she isn't the best at them.

"You aren't allowed to leave me, how could you ever think that I'm unhappy after all I've done for you"

Jingliu: She acts cold even to you, sure she may keep an arm around you at all time but it wouldn't be a surprise if you think she is forcing it for you, her face barely ever changes even to you and her blindfold always stay on, she gives a lot of mixed signals.

A break up with Jingliu would never end well, she wouldn't hesitate to remove a few limbs to make you stay, even if you explain it to her that she seems unhappy with the relationship she will still remove the limbs, she loves you so much, she can't risk you ever leaving her, you can't leave her if you don't have any legs now can you.

"Stop crying, you brought this upon yourself... did you really think I didn't like you, I guess I need to show you just how much you mean to me"

Hubert: He places his loyalty to Edelgard above even you, even as a yandere that wont change, Edelgard has been his whole life and sure he may love you but to put you above the empress is something he would find hard to do.

But it hurts Hubert however much he tries to hide it when you tell him he looks unhappy in the relationship, it hurts him even more when you tell him you wanna break up. He isn't unhappy, far from it, you are someone he wishes to spend the rest of his life with. You will feel a cloth over your mouth and nose as you start to black out, the last thing you see before waking up the next time is Hubert's eerie smile.

"Did you sleep well, my apologies if you feel any side effects, that wouldn't be my intention, now lay down again, I'll be back in a short while, have to make sure there isn't any way out"

It's been a while

(Yandere Hubert X Gender neutral reader)

“No! I’m not doing this” you yelled for what felt like the first time in your life. Your voice echoed across the walls of the holy tomb as all of your peers looked at you in shock. Even the professor had joined them but to you, it still felt wrong. Edelgard was the flame emperor this whole time. She was the culprit behind almost everything that had happened since you had come to the academy, so many people died because of her.

“(Y/n) don’t make a fool of yourself!” Hubert scolded you, making you shiver.

Hubert always knew how to shake you to your core and he used that intimidating control to make you do whatever he wanted from you. That’s how he got you to be in a relationship with him, but you have to stand up for yourself right now.

“No, I’m not following you!” you exclaimed.

Hubert opened his mouth but Edelgard stopped him.

“They’ve made their decision, besides we have to leave,” she told him.

That was the last you’d see of your peers.

For the last five years, you had been in the kingdom trying what little you could to stop the empire from taking over what remained of the kingdom. you’d been working with a few others in an attempt to halt the empire's trade routes. Unfortunately, you had all been caught and held captive.

You began to stir as you heard one of the guards talking as well as a pair of approaching footsteps, then they stopped but you dared not to look.

"They're all to be executed except them" a familiar voice ordered.

Your eyes flew open in shock, you were now looking straight at your worst nightmare. Hubert was right in front of you. His sharp face was more defined and his ebony hair a little shorter. Even with his various changes, it was still undeniably him.

"It's been many years since we last saw each other, hasn't it dear?" Hubert spoke with a smile on his lips.

"Regretfully, I'd have kept out of trouble if I'd known you'd be here" you spat, his smile disappearing.

"You have gained quite the tongue over the years" he scowled, his icy glare making your body shake.

"You should be grateful that I saved your life" he scolded as he unlocked the cell.

You would have tried to run as far as you could but the chain that was attached to your legs and the wall prevented you from doing so. Even so, you wouldn't have gone too far with your hands cuffed behind your back.

You stared at the corner refusing to make eye contact with him any longer as he entered. As he knelt to unlock you the smell of frankincense, sandalwood and fresh leather overwhelmed your senses. His gloved hand took a hold of your leg causing you to flinch, earning a chuckle from him.

"I remember you used to react like this whenever I touched you, you were so adorable back then… like a scared little rabbit" he reminisced.

You felt sick to your stomach just hearing him speak.

"What do you want from me?" You muttered as you heard the lock click open.

"It's not that I require anything from you, what I want is you" he confessed as he removed the cuffs from your ankles.

"If it hadn't been for lady edelgard's order I would have taken you back by force" he continued before standing again. You refused to stand for him, whether out of rebellion or fear you did not know.

"Are you coming with me or are you going to refuse again just like you did five years ago?" he asked with a slight frown.

"I'd rather die than be with you again, all you did back then was make me fear for my life" you replied as you looked him in the eyes.

"You'd rather die?" He asked as he knelt once more before pulling out a small dagger. He pressed the cold metal against your throat, not enough to cut you but enough so that you could feel it. Your body began to shake in fear, you didn't want to die but you couldn't bear the idea of having to spend the rest of your life with him. He'd never pulled a blade on you or physically harmed you for that matter, he used to touch you as if you were fine porcelain.

"You'd never have the guts to go through with it" he whispered before retracting his dagger.

"Now stand up" he ordered as he stood. You hesitantly followed.

His hand roughly latched onto your arm as he guided you out, causing you to yelp.

"Why are you hurting me?" you whimpered.

"I tried to work this issue out the conventional way all those years ago, now it’s time I sort this out my way” he replied as you walked out of the cell.

"I'm not going to lose you again and you are going to learn once more how to love me"

Fire Emblem: Yandere Houses

Black Eagles

Hubert:

Hubert would start off apprehensive and distant from you, and you don’t realise he cares until you notice him everywhere. You’re sat in the library and he’s sat a desk away, his eyes fixating on you as you try and do your research.

The next thing you notice is how differently people respond to you, the baker who normally chats to you with a cheery smile simply hands you your bread without a word. He won’t even look you in the eye, and you notice there’s fresh bruising on his cheekbone.

When you finally confront Hubert, you find your words failing in your throat. He stands a little too close to you, and the way he towers over you and his gloved hands stroke your hair as you speak make your feel like a small little pet. As if you exist for his amusement and there’s no one else in the entire world.

Ferdinand:

As with most things with Ferdinand, he falls for you hard and fast. From the first date he announces you as his betrothed, and he’s such an excited puppy about the affair you don’t have the heart to tell him he’s coming on far too strong. He doesn’t let go of you for the entire meal, he pulls you as close as he can and he’s enraptured, hanging on your every word.

When Ferdinand catches you speaking with someone else he becomes quite and despondent. He remains by your side, you’re both still joined at the hip to a smothering extent but he won’t say a word. He just scowls grips onto your arm a little too hard. He pulls you away from anyone who tries to speak to you, in the dining hall he insists you sit by yourselves and he cuts up your food for you.

Ferdinand didn’t ask if you wished to sleep in his quarters at Garreg Mach, you simply discovered your key to your room no longer worked and Ferdinand informed you he had your belongings moved. He picked which clothes were worth keeping and which ones needed throwing away, the room is still predominantly his. It doesn’t feel like yours, nothing feels like yours anymore. You’re becoming his.

Linhardt:

At first Linhardt seems perfectly normal, he sits with you in the library and in the dining hall. Sure, he rolls his eyes if anyone else speaks to you, and his questions are a little intrusive… but nothing that suggests anything other than a slight socially awkward nature.

It starts small, you notice you begin to get anxious when you go a few hours without seeing Linhardt. You almost can feel if he is approaching, the further away he is the more terrified you become and a sharp pain begins in your temple. When you speak to other people it feels wrong, as if you’ve told a lie or stolen someone’s possessions. The only time you feel comfortable is when you’re with Linhardt, then your body is drained of anxiety and filled with joy. It’s like you’re addicted.

Linhardt takes a long time to admit what he’s done, he watches you spiral and get more and more anxious about your bizarre symptoms. It’s only when you slam him against the wall and desperately shake him asking what he did to you does he admit the experiments. He tells you how he developed a magical device which he injected into your shoulder, one that manipulates your brainwaves to result in your body being addicted and dependent on him.

Caspar:

Caspar hasn’t even had a first date with you when it starts. It begins with the subtlety of a war axe to the face, a handsome young man approached you at the market and before he’s finished his question Caspar appears beside you. You didn’t even notice he was at the market with you, you wonder if he was following you but dismiss that thought. Caspar demands to speak to the man in your behalf, standing in front of you and shoving the stranger to force him to keep his distance. When you confront him afterwards, Caspar insists he simply noticed he shared the same description as a con artist who’d been hanging around the market place. You want to believe him.

As Caspar gets closer to you, his behaviour gets more erratic. He not only seems to always appear when a stranger wishes to speak to you to defend you from them, it starts to happen with everyone. The shopkeepers you speak too regularly, your classmates, and the servants of church, they are all extremely wary of you. They all become wary of you, sometimes you witness Caspar threatening and attacking them, he does it before your eyes. It’s as if it isn’t just about the others any more, it’s a threat to you and what will happen if you leave him.

The collar is an addition that shocked you, but perhaps given Caspar’s behaviour it shouldn’t have been a surprise. When you awoke and you began getting dressed he stood by you as always, and instead of asking for your permission as you buttoned up your shirt he slips a thick leather collar around your neck and fastens the buckle. Before you can object there is a click, something small, cold, and metal lands against your neck. A padlock. You pull at it, you try to create a little bit of room for your throat but the collar has no give. You scream at him to take it off, he refuses. He simply grabs your hair and tells you you’re his.

Blue Lions

Dimitri:

Dimitri worries about you, constantly. You notice that the Professor isn’t taking you on missions anymore, there’s no more fighting bandits and monsters, simply staying in the monastery all day frustrated and bored. When you complain about it to Dimitri one day he goes quiet, he acts as if he barely heard you and avoids your gaze. When you push him all he says is “at least you’re safe this way.” You try to argue saying you can protect yourself, but when Dimitri replies with a simple “so could my father.” And you don’t know how you can possibly respond to that.

You try to go to the Professor to explain how much you want to be taken on missions, how your restless and bored. Especially since the guards of Garreg Mach seemed to get stricter about what times you can leave the monastery and what times you have to be back by. The Professor doesn’t give you a straight answer, he says it’s nothing personal and that he will take a look at the roster to ensure you’re included soon. Soon never comes.

One day, when you’re trying to enter the training grounds to spar everyone avoids your gaze. The training master tells you that they aren’t offering training to you anymore. That is the final straw, you confront Dimitri directly. You’re prepared for him to bring up his dead father as an excuse as you look him directly into his sapphire eyes. You say he needs to loosen his grip on you, that you need to be able to leave the monastery and train. Dimitri argues a recruit broke his collarbone training and he couldn’t live with himself if the same happened to you. When you argue, when you threaten to leave him something evil appears in his eyes. He grips your hand too tightly and pulls you impossibly close. You know in that moment you’ll never leave.

Dedue:

Dedue is more affectionate a partner than you expected. He shoves his love through acts of service, when you wake up you’re greeted with a beautifully made breakfast brought to your bedroom. Occasionally with a plant or flower from the greenhouse. There’s nothing wrong with that exactly, you can’t explain it. They are lovely gestures, you feel adored. But it’s so much. You can’t wake up without Dedue being there, he is constantly at your side and desperate for your attention.

Soon, Dedue is making all of your meals. His cooking is delicious, that’s not the issue. The issue is he treats food made by anyone else as if it’s poisoned. One day when you went to the bakery he was horrifically insulted that you would buy food instead of asking him to make you some. To everyone else he just seems caring and sweet, all you can do is stay whilst you feel Dedue’s breath down your neck.

One day, you wake up and the door to your quarters is locked. You also notice that Dedue seemed to have moved his things in in the night. Dedue appears with your breakfast and the key is hanging around his neck. You fold your arms and refuse to eat, scowling as your eyes fixated on the golden key on a silver chain. Dedue strokes your hair, telling you to eat with a tone one would usually reserve for an animal. It was a mistake to throw the plate of food against the wall, it was immature and the actions of a petulant child. It felt good, but when you turn to Dedue a dark anger has filled his face. He grabs your throat and hair, he tells you how all he wants to do is take care of you as his rage grows.

Felix:

It starts off small, when you are with your friends you can see Felix pouting and turning away with folded arms. Occasionally he stays with you whilst you speak to those you’re with, usually he sits a table or so away, and throws looks at you. You try to ignore him, knowing he has no say in who you associate with. There is however a twist of guilt in your chest, when you try to confront him he refuses to discuss it. He makes a sarcastic, irritated comment in response, as if he’s punishing you. You try asking Dimitri or Sylvain for help, all they do is shrug and say Felix must really like you. You don’t have a choice but to simply deal with it.

It would be easier to deal with it Felix actually seemed to enjoy having you around. He makes scathing, awful comments to your friends making them not want to come near you anymore if he’s present. And these days he’s always present. However, when you try to bond with him he scowled and speaks in a tone laden with sarcasm. It’s almost impossible to tell if he likes you or if he’s punishing you. Every now and then he reaches for your hand, his fingers are thin and cold around yours, and he kissed you on the forehead. The slight glimpse of affection almost makes it all worth it.

Felix is quite blunt when he tells you, he begins simply saying why you can and can’t associate with. The baker, the shopkeepers, the grocer, most of the students at Garreg Mach, and far more are all on this list. When it comes to who you can associate with, you can only speak to them with Felix present. He grabs ahold of your wrist tightly until bruising appears under his thin hand and on your arm. It doesn’t push him to let go, he simply pulls you around after him like a ragdoll.

Sylvain:

At first you assume your little tryst with Sylvain is a one time thing like with all of his other conquests. However, it soon becomes clear that Sylvain wishes for more. He appears in your bed first thing in the morning, whether you remember him getting there or not. He is always asleep or watching you, and given how aloof he is in every other circumstance you try not to give it too much thought. He does keep sitting far too close to you in classes though. However, his false cheerful demeanour wavers whenever you try to pull away from him, a scowl grows and his tone darkens. It’s terrifying, and all you can tell yourself is that at least it’s only happening once or twice. It’s not a problem, right?

It becomes clear that Sylvain’s rules don’t apply to him. If you so much as look at someone else, Sylvain is furious - but he is still hooking up with a new woman every night. It angers you, Sylvain does nothing but grip you too tightly and insult you if you look at someone else for too long. When you try to explain how you feel, Sylvain dismisses you and tells you you’re being bitter and twisted. He says that you’re holding too tight a grip on him, and that you need to give him space. You give a humourless laugh and mention that you might spend some time with Dimitri tonight. You don’t make that mistake again; the bruises on your neck take weeks to heal.

When Sylvain is the one who gives his brother the killing blow be becomes far more clingy, and at first it’s fine. It’s better than before when he was dating women right in front of your eyes. At least now when he’s being overbearing you know you’re the only one in his mind. He speaks about what his brother did to him in brutal detail, it’s overwhelming and you want him to stop. But if his attention is purely on you, maybe it’s okay. Maybe you can save him.

Ashe:

Ashe doesn’t have much experience with relationships, his perception is what he’d read in books and that’s precisely what he wants. He wishes for a fairytale where he saves you, he wants you to be completely his with your focus on no one else, and he’s determined to make his dream come true. When he first lays eyes on you, he knows you’re the one who he must bow to. He wishes to be your knight, and that’s how he approaches you. It’s sweet, really. His green eyes are so wide and excited, and you do enjoy his company.

It begins to get strange when you’ve been with Ashe a few weeks, he starts to take on your responsibilities at the monastery, your turn on cooking duty, your turn for the greenhouse, and more. It’s … fine, you suppose. It’s a little condescending but you know Ashe means well. However, when he insists you can’t possibly handle the task when the Professor asks for help moving some heavy boxes, that’s when it goes too far. You tell Ashe as much but he looks at you with wide green eyes and says he just wants to help, you relent, and he looks like an excited puppy. You tell yourself it’s cute, and you try to believe it.

It gets worse day by day, until the tasks Ashe doesn’t think you can do become things like dressing yourself, cutting up your own food, and showering. You try to argue, but it’s been so long you start to almost forget small things. You want to cook, but when Ashe asks you how long something needs to boil you don’t remember. He looks at you smugly as if this proves his point, and when he tries to show you can’t carry heavy boxes you realise your muscles are tense and weak from months of not moving. He’s broken you.

okay good because yandere hubert is terrifying in the hottest way possible. one of his lost items is *literally* chloroform (or, heavily implied to be, but you know). he knows exactly how to get what he wants, and it's easy for him because of how often he does generally shady things like that.

i have so many thoughts about this

My friend, Hubert, like Dimitri, is just custom made for yandere content lmao- like, equal but opposite energy. None of the outright aggression or boiling rage, but just dripping with cold, calculating manipulation and an absolutely relentless need for control. If you're smart, Hubert will never have to follow through on exactly what he's willing to do to keep you safe and by his side; you should know better than to test him, frankly. As soon as he's decided you're his to keep, you're his personal, precious little live-in pet for life. And I've mentioned this before, but it's not like you'd ever have a chance at escape, given his information network and near-unchecked influence in the Empire. So be sure to just wear the special little black collar he bought for you and stay nice and safe and quiet on your knees by his desk while he works~

Okay hear me out yandere Hubert hears his darling calling out somone eles name in their sleep even better if its someone he hates

OH. . . hubert would be incensed. sure, he can handle his darling's cruel words and jabs with ease in the light of day - hubert would never give them the satisfaction of rising of to one of their quips. but when they're asleep, he can react however he wants. his face twists in anger, and though he has half a mind to wake them up for some sort of punishment (irrational, he knows-), he decides it's better to file away that information for later.

and deep down, buried under the layers of complex feelings he has for his darling, he feels... hurt. he shouldn't be feeling this way, he thinks - he shouldn't let them get to him. he's above it.

Anyone who don’t know Hubert Von Vestra very well (so, the huge majority of people) would probably think that it’s impossible for him to fall in love. They probably think that his ‘’Darling’’ is just a tool to him, that he’s probably incredibly manipulative and cruel with them… This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Yes, Hubert can be cruel and manipulative, but never would he manipulate someone to be in a romantic relationship with him, nor would he be intentionally cruel to his closest allies. Hubert simply cannot imagine a situation where him being in an arranged marriage would be useful for Lady Edelgard, thus, he has no intentions to plan anything like that.

Hubert usually wouldn’t see the point of being in a romantic relationship, especially since he doubt he’ll ever fall in love, but if he do fall in love one day, his opinion on the subject change somewhat, and he starts dreaming of a married life after the war.

If Hubert fall in love, it would only be with a close ally, someone who shows as much devotion to Lady Edelgard’s cause as he does, someone intelligent and dedicated, someone who would NEVER betray Edelgard. From then, he tend to protect his Darling from afar while acting as cordial as he can muster with them. While he might eventually admit his true feelings, probably after being pushed to by Edelgard and some other Black Eagles, he’s completely fine keeping the relationship completely platonic if his feelings aren’t returned. Actually, he’d probably be extremely surprised and flustered if his feelings are reciprocated and wouldn’t quite know how to react as he didn’t plan for this possibility, he only planned to be rejected.

The best way to explain what kind of Yandere he is is just to observe his relationship with Edelgard; it’s not too far of how he would act with a Darling. You’d expect him to be the manipulative, cruel, sadistic and possessive kind of Yandere, but in reality, he would be the protective, caring and devoted kind of Yandere, albeit a bit colder than the usual Yanderes of that kind.

I don't usually post much of my writting-- I'm not particularly a writer. Im an artist, i draw lol.

But i liked how i wrote this reply to a roleplay, and thus I'm going to share it. Dont mind if the grammar is poo.

This is an excerpt from an Edelgard x Yandere!Hubert roleplay, so if you do not like such themes, you dont have to read!

The before summary:

Hubert has been making many remarks to ferdinand that he did not want him anywhere near edelgard. Hubert threatened to hurt or even kill ferdinand if he so much as gave a flirtatious look at her. Edelgard told hubert to apologize to ferdinand later that night when she learned of what hubert was going to do. Ferdinand explained to edelgard that even though his life may be at danger, he had to bring edelgard to a place privately to tell her the things hubert said. When he realized hubert overheard them, he asked edelgard to walk him back to his room. When they got to the room edelgard tricked a lurking hubert into showing himself. She made hubert apologize but he refused to apologize without some kind of violence. The two boys agreed if hubert just punched Ferdinand to let his frustration out that he will accept the apology. Not thinking hubert was very physically strong, Ferdie let this happen. Unlike his thoughts, hubert was very strong. He punched ferdinand in the head, making him fall to the ground. Just to add insult to injury, he also kicked ferdinand in the gut as hard as he could. Of course, edelgard wasn't taking ANY of that shit. After she brought ferdinand to Manuela, she dragged hubert to his room and slammed the door shut, leaving him alone in his room. This is where the excerpt starts.

Hubert widened his eyes a bit. He didnt really process what had just happened, but his senses tingled and he knew he did something wrong. He could sense edelgard crying even from in his room. Oddly enough, he knew had he pissed her off at somepoint, that door is locked. Not his, but hers.

He sat on his bed. It was killing him not being next to her. It pulled at his heartstrings. He NEEDED to be next to her.

The emptiness of the room consumed him. As he sat there on his bed, elbows to knees, the dark room ambiance filled his head. He could recall hearing edelgard's concerned voice and the slamming of the door. It played constantly in his mind, reminding him of what he may have done wrong. No, of what he did right. He knew he was in his place to attack ferdinand. He had only a few simple rules and he had broken them. From speaking in private to leading Edelgard to his room. Had he not interviened, who knows what else could have happened? He was so glad that they just so happened to cross his path. Edelgard should be glad to have such a retainer as him. He truely could not understand what had gone wrong. Perhaps it was that he showed a bit of his true nature?

Mayhaps Edelgard did not like what Hubert's true intentions were. He cannot shelter Edelgard from the world, and he understands that. Hubert, perhaps, should give her space. Which Three Houses Yandere would be the hardest to avoid/easiest to make fall in love with you?

Ooh, this is a fun one! I love Three Houses, and I've been playing it again recently. I'll do the easiest and hardest yanderes for each house, starting with the Black Eagles!

TW: Stalking, kidnapping, mentions of violence, manipulation, gaslighting, Sylvain being a manwhore, implications of having children in the Lorenz segment

Black Eagles

Easiest to Avoid: Bernadetta von Varley

To be honest, I almost wanted to say Linhardt. He hates fighting, is usually either asleep or researching, but...let's be honest.

Bernadetta becoming a full blown yandere would require her to be outside of her room for more than maybe five minutes at a time.

It is entirely possible that you two just never meet. If you don't seek out Bernadetta, she will almost certainly not be seeking you out. Even if you catch her eye, she'll probably just watch over you from a distance out of curiosity.

Should you choose to go out of your way to try and interact with her, you'll still (probably) be fine. Unlike some yanderes who will actively pursue a relationship with you or try to attack anybody they perceive as a threat, Bernadetta is very non-confrontational.

Will she leave you alone entirely? No. You'll still have an obsessive stalker who follows you whenever you're alone. And once Bernadetta has fallen for you, she falls hard and fast. You're not getting rid of her, even if she never snaps and goes full blown yandere.

There's a simple solution: just don't bother Bernie, and Bernie won't bother you. Hopefully the first few times she runs away screaming when you try to speak to her are enough to deter you.

Hardest to avoid: Ferdinand von Aegir

None of the Black Eagles are horribly difficult to avoid, unless you count Hubert. He's just unlikely to fall for someone, so it comes down to luck, really.

Ferdinand would probably be the most difficult of all of the students. While avoiding him wouldn't be an impossible task, why would you?

Ferdinand may have a bit of an ego, but he's still very genuine and sweet. Once you get past all of his talk about chivalry and his 'noble duties', you just might find that he's one of the kindest people in the Empire.

That's part of what makes him more dangerous in comparison to his classmates. It's easy to get along with Ferdinand. And given how friendly he is, he'll probably be the first one to approach you.

The other issue comes from the fact that Ferdinand tends to view the world with rose colored glasses before the war. He's more on the delusional side of things when it comes to yanderes.

To you, he's the obsessive classmate who just won't leave you alone. The one who follows you everywhere on the battlefield, mercilessly slaughtering anybody who dares to lay a scratch on you.

But for Ferdinand?

He's the knight of the story, and you, his love interest. Someone to be protected. Saved. Watched over.

Why should he feel guilty? They were trying to hurt you. Truly, they were the lowest of low.

Ferdinand can't accept that he's fallen too deep, that what he's doing is wrong. So he falls even deeper into his fantasy of playing the knight in your story.

And once the war begins, it won't be long before he decides to whisk you away from danger.

Blue Lions

Easiest to Avoid: Mercedes von Matritz

I was considering giving this spot to Felix or Dedue, but I just can't see Mercedes going completely yandere and locking her darling away from the world. She'd sooner destroy herself than give into any of those selfish wants and desires that claw at Mercedes whenever she sees you courting someone other than herself.

Mercedes has seen the best and worst humanity has to offer in her life, and she's come out stronger for it. Probably one of the most well adjusted people in the Officer's Academy.

Even if she falls for you, it's pretty much harmless. Unless you count baked goods showing up on your doorstep once in a while or being invited to choir as dangerous.

Mercedes hates the idea of hurting someone, even for you. And even though it would break her heart, Mercedes would even be willing to accept seeing you with another person.

She loves you. She just wants you to find happiness, even if it takes away her own.

Another yandere attempting to kidnap you and hide you away would probably be one of the only things to make her snap.

If she has to, Mercedes can and will kill them to protect you. She just prays that someday, the Goddess will be able to forgive her.

Hardest to Avoid: Sylvain Jose Gautier

While not the most dangerous of the Blue Lions, he'd probably be the easiest to woo.

And that's not to say he's easy to seduce- the others just either have a functioning moral compass, or far too much going on to notice you as easily as Sylvain would.

In comparison, Sylvain will probably be actively trying to get you to have tea with him from the first conversation.

Does he have good intentions? Goddess, no. He's probably hit on eight different people in that day alone. Don't let any of his pickup lines about destiny or true love fool you.

There's a few different ways you can catch his eye, too. Should you approach him first and attempt the non-Sylvain method of getting to know someone (read: trying to learn about someone and befriend them instead of trying to get a one way ticket into their bedroom) for some reason, he'll definitely be intrigued. Certainly suspicious at first, but once Sylvain knows you're really just in it because you want to know more about him, he'd certainly appreciate having a friend he actually knows and trusts.

That's just one way, though. If Sylvain is convinced that you're really not interested in his noble status, you'll find that he's actually a pretty decent guy.

Well...not entirely decent. He's still a bit of a skirt chaser, but it slows down as he falls further and further into his obsession with you.

And there's also the issue of him potentially becoming just a teeny, tiny bit possessive when it comes to you. And also the problem with Sylvain getting into verbal arguments with anyone he thinks is being a little too friendly.

They've obviously got bad intentions. They're trying to hurt you. They want to hide you away from the rest of the world, or flaunt you around like some kind of trophy. He's convinced that the world is out to get you.

Sylvain's natural distrust of people devolves, getting worse and worse until he finally snaps.

Unlike someone like Ferdinand, Sylvain is well aware that what he's doing wrong. But Sylvain doesn't care if he's a monster in your eyes.

Not when the rest of the world is so much worse. He'll be damned if he allows the light in his life that is you be snuffed out. At least to him, you'll be more than just a crest, a title, or some stupid trophy.

Unlike them, Sylvain loves you for you. But if the ropes tied around your wrists and the cloth he put in your mouth before dragging you halfway across Fódlan to your new home is anything to go by...

Let's just say that there are healthier ways to show affection than kidnapping.

Golden Deer

Easiest to Avoid: Lorenz Hellman Gloucester and Marianne von Edmund

I couldn't decide on which one would be the easiest to avoid, so I'll be writing for both of them for different reasons.

As for Lorenz, it's like a night and day difference depending on whether or not you're of noble birth.

During the Academy phase? Extremely easy if you're a commoner. Lorenz is pretty dead set on finding a noblewoman to marry, so good luck trying to get his attention. The same applies here if you're a noble who can't give birth.

If you are, however, capable of "having the honor of carrying on the Gloucester bloodline", in his words, expect a letter. Or two. Or three.

He sends them to everybody and anybody who this applies to. Do not write him back. Please do not write him back. Please, for the love of Saint Seiros herself, do NOT express any interest in him whatsoever. Did you leave him that letter within a few days of him sending that to you? Expect a reply very, VERY quickly. In person.

If you do the opposite and write a response telling Lorenz exactly where he can shove his letters, you're also safe. Or just telling him you're utterly uninterested in him. He'll move on pretty quickly.

After the war, however, his views on nobles and commoners will have changed quite significantly. While still rather easy to avoid, it's no longer impossible to win the affections of Lorenz if you weren't born to a noble family.

There's a new problem, though. While he'll no longer jump the gun and insist you get engaged upon you expressing the slightest bit of interest in him, Lorenz will also be less likely to back down if he falls for you. The idea of losing you in the war absolutely terrifies him, and he's not above kidnapping you if you get seriously injured or attempt to join the opposite side in the war.

Just view it as being on house arrest. A very, very long house arrest. And even when he does trust you enough to let you outside of the house, Lorenz will be by your side the entire time.

Marianne is also especially easy to avoid during your time at the academy. When she's not busy praying to the goddess, she's probably busy hiding from other people.

Even if she developed feelings for her darling at the academy, it'd be a very long, difficult process. Like with Bernadetta, you'd have to constantly go out of your way to interact with her. Marianne might even be more likely to avoid you if she develops feelings for you.

Her self loathing runs deep, and she's convinced with every fiber of her being that being around you will only bring death and misfortune. Who would wish that upon the person they love?

Despite that, Marianne would most certainly watch over you in combat. She always seems to show up out of nowhere to tend to your wounds, leaving as soon as it's certain that you're safe again.

To allow herself any more than making sure you're alive and well would be selfish of her, she thinks. Anything else, and you'd just end up miserable or dead. In her mind, that's the only thing that will come from being around her.

During the war, though, she'll be more willing to spend time with you that isn't silently watching over you from afar. Her time at Garreg Mach helped Marianne start to come out of her shell.

And even if the two of you do pursue a relationship, it'll be hard for you to notice anything wrong or out of place.

In fact, she makes sure of it.

Marianne keeps you safe. You never seem to run into much trouble, whether on the battlefield or off.

It's best you don't figure out the extent she'll go to protect you. You'll be much happier if you never discover just how many lives she's taken from people she deemed a threat to your well-being...or what she'll do to keep you by her side.

Hardest to Avoid: Claude von Riegan

I'm not sure if this would come as a surprise to anybody, really.

Claude is good with his words. He's charming, easygoing, funny...and very intelligent.

Not only would he be one of the absolute hardest yanderes to get away from, but he'd be one of the most difficult to avoid. Even if you don't know much about Claude, he makes it his business to find out about the people around him. A darling from one of the other houses would have less difficulty, but it still wouldn't be easy.

When you grow up having to sleep with one eye open and constantly watch people to learn if they're holding a dagger behind their back while they talk to you, it's kind of a necessity to be smart if you want to be alive, too.

Out of everybody in this list, Claude is by far the worst one to get out of the bunch. Should you catch his eye, it's not a matter of IF he'll have complete and total control over your life.

It's all a matter of when.

He wouldn't be likely to fall for someone that's specifically out to try and woo him. Claude would see through it immediately- the same goes for anybody attempting to manipulate him, too. Unless you're as smart and resourceful as Claude, it's going to be impossible to trick him.

That being said, though, he might end up curious about someone attempting to deceive him for their own gain. Claude enjoys your little game of cat and mouse.

Especially the part where you think you're the one in charge. He's the one making the rules here. It's been that way from the very start.

You could potentially gain his curiosity if you're at the exact opposite, too. Claude would love teasing a serious, chivalrous darling. Besides, it's always funny seeing how you immediately put your guard up when he's around. Like that could do anything to deter him from the object of his affections.

From the very start, he's aware his feelings towards you are more sinister than just normal affection. But does it bother him? No, not really.

Kidnapping wouldn't necessarily be something he's morally opposed to, either. It'd just be a bit of a blow to his pride if he had to resort to doing so to keep you by his side.

Manipulation. Subtle threats. Deception. Whatever it takes to keep you by his side, he does it. And Claude enjoys it.

Why in the world would he ever want to keep you locked up?

After all...it's so much more interesting watching you try and break free of him when you're not being held captive.

He'll tell you that you're just being paranoid. You're trying to make him look like the bad guy, when really, Claude just wants what's best for you!

He knows you don't buy it for a second, but that's what he wants.

Nothing would make him happier than watching you give up, watching you admit defeat and willingly stay by his side.

The two of you have all the time in the world, in Claude's eyes. Why not indulge in his little game for a while?

today in "krad continues to be very normal about gunter fire emblem" i hyper-analyze 3H's teatime preferences to divine up gunter's favorite teas and a few other fun facts ~ :D

so, context:

in Three Houses (FE16), there's a teatime minigame where your avatar drinks tea with selected characters, and try to guess their favorites / favorite conversational topics / etc for bonding points. FE's pretty big on character archetypes across the games (nabarls, jeigans, etc); while it's never a 1:1 as the series does like to subvert the stories and character arcs in some fun ways, you can generally trace a pretty direct line across them a la 'wow innes and shinon sure share more than a few surface-level similarities' and 'man OG!Jeigan, Gunter, and Marcus are cut out of the same cloth at least appearance wise huh'.

tl;dr -- it's easier than you'd think to pick a few 3H characters that echo gunter's archetype/arcs.

since i've played through 3H a few times, the three characters i figured gunter would share at least a higher-than-background-average similarity in archetypes + taste were:

Hubert - loyal advisor that does the dirty work behind the scenes in black to a charismatic royal. definitely holds a not-entirely platonic flame for said princess who had a Fucked Up past. has a tendency to be the disciplinarian for the others. (also both characters are hellaciously kinky bastards but that's just me)

Jeritza - strict instructor turned surprise(!) villain yandere paladin with a more complex backstory than you'd think. even has the black armor in his alter ego, and dislikes talking to others / prefers being alone. (seriously does that sound familiar or what.)

Hanneman - older (ie, definitely over his sixties versus all of the other babies in age) classic jeigan archetype and another instructor, kind but keeps to himself as well.

I could see people debating Hanneman vs Gilbert on technicalities but whatever, this is my post, I'm sticking to this list. :P

so, next step! looking at serenesforest.net's teatime preferences chart, we find out the favorite teas of the previous characters are (common teas in bold) ...

Hubert - Dagda Fruit Blend, Cinnamon Blend

Jeritza - Albinean Berry Blend, Southern Fruit Blend, Honeyed-Fruit Blend, Sweet-Apple Blend

Hanneman - Bergamot, Sweet-Apple Blend, Honeyed-Fruit Blend, Cinnamon Blend

... and surprisingly, there was a very high level of crossover! :o holy shit i was kind of not expecting that lmao. I checked a few of the other characters just to make sure it wasn't the same 5 teas over and over again, and no, these were pretty rare. that to me, reinforces that hunch that says looking into these patterns was worth it.

therefore, it is in my very humble opinion that (in 3H's style), Gunter's favorite teas would be generally the fruitier-sweet flavored ones, plus cinnamon.

subjectively?

fucking hell i love this so much. omg.

it makes so much sense in hindsight; i mentioned before how FE has a lot of fun playing with the archetypes/subversions, and there's something kind of hilariously adorable about the old strict "traditional" masculine dude fucking loving his fruity teas :D;;

gunter's already (ime) an interesting case of wildly subverting his archetype expectations so this is just yet another fun super-stealth easter egg nod.

to that note---you know what that reminds me of? this meme (below) of the bodyguard and the chick swapping drinks so he can have the fruity one and she can have the beer. :D

absolutely hilarious fun bonus fact in hindsight:

i almost had this as a scene in the gunter x fcorrin slowburn fic a while back, (yes, seriously, even before this post) but it ultimately got cut out for being ever so slightly gimmicky/meme-y in tone versus the rest of the fic which is played more seriously.

... this would make for an A+ drawing shitpost or a standalone fic tho. :D

for real tho, i actually... love the way richard's yandere shit was handled?

most media romanticizes the shit out of yanderes (either through the characters or the storytelling putting a heavy focus on it being romantic). it's seen as this thing that's worth admiring because it exists out of true love and shit.

though richard was possessed, what the possession effectively did was elevate his feelings in a way that resulted in him being wholly aggressive even if that response didn't match his feelings or behavior from two seconds ago. it took good feelings that he would not act violently upon and pushed them over the edge. it also took situations happening to him and warped them into the most negative way possible, and it's always when bad things happen to him.

in richard's mind, this bad thing that happened to him isn't fair, why is he suffering and being hurt, he didn't do anything wrong, it's the people who hurt him who should suffer. so with that mindset, he does things wrong with the heightened emotional responses from lambda's possession. they're things he never would normally do.

so, when asbel's friends and family are involved in any way, richard is now viewing it under the lens of "they're trying to take him/another thing away from me". his response to that is to destroy the problem and keep asbel with him... until asbel can't handle that anymore and doesn't want his friends being killed.

richard immediately takes that as a betrayal, and a betrayal of his most precious friendship, after the sheer fucking onslaught of bullshit he has put up with for most of his life and the shit that just went down with his uncle. the people who cared about richard are terrified. asbel, who cared about him more than anyone and even left his home for seven years to become a knight in richard's service - asbel, who basically ran straight to richard when he was kicked out of his home unceremoniously by his own brother - is terrified.

on that note, let me put into perspective the fact that, technically, politically, richard was well within his right to handle hubert the way he did. by hubert "helping" lhant, lhant is now is a situation where it owes fendel. in a sense, you could argue this was an invasion by fendel (and looking at it through richard's currently skewed perspective, he very well could use that justification for an attack). lhant is within richard's territory, so by getting involved in any way, hubert is threatening richard's rule over lhant. normally, richard would solve this diplomatically, but in his current state, he won't and can't.

that said, asbel would have been fully on board with handling things if richard wasn't demanding an attack to solve the problem. as far as asbel was concerned, even when richard's sanity was getting worse, he was still loyal first and foremost to richard over anyone - and understandably, seeing as his family just yeeted him out (and let's face it, all his mother did was cry about it and didn't even try to help him or give him any means of surviving. he was kicked out on the spot and his mother just cried about it) and richard was the one who took him in without question or a second thought and had him by his side during the most important moments for his impending reign - fighting the rebels back and defeating cedric.

for richard, considering the above, there is zero reason asbel even has to defend lhant at this point. they threw him away and didn't want him back, while richard did want him and did care about him. for asbel to "betray" him for the very mcfucking people who forced him out of his home on immediate notice? that was the breaking point for him because it was the worst betrayal he'd ever faced. it was the most painful and it was why he finally completely snapped.

prior to that, richard was going off the deep end, but for the most part, calmly. aggressively and snappily sometimes, but he was not actively losing his shit when he made the plans to attack lhant. it was asbel's betrayal that made him give up on everything.

and you know what? most media would've been like wow that's so romantic! such dedication! is it possible it's because richard is not a woman and thus it's not seen as some kind of violence born out of a pure love? probably, in mcfuckin' fact!!! but take, idk, say, mirai nikki for instance. put them in that situation. asbel would have sided with richard and decided that all of his killing was valid because it was for him. at first in mirai nikki, the killing is seen as terrifying... until shit happens and the mc decides love conquers all and that it was for him so it was all valid. translated to graces, richard loved him and so there can be no wrong done by the hands of someone who does something for love. he was terrified at first but learned the error of his ways and realized richard was right all along and just wanted asbel to be safe and happy.

and that leads me to my next point: "I did it for you, Asbel". not my words! they literally pulled the most traditional yandere trope ever of gaslighting! despite all his pain and hurt on top of it, they could've argued that he was putting his love for asbel above his own hurt. he attacked lhant for asbel, because the people in charge of lhant hurt him. they threw him away. tossed him aside because he wasn't good enough for them. the same shit richard's family did to him. in richard's mind, by all rights, there is negative fucking reason for asbel to choose them over him.

but he did, because it was too much for him. hubert was his brother, and an attack on lhant endangered the citizens who had nothing to do with asbel being thrown out. asbel did everything for richard recently up until this point, so now for richard it becomes "you were on my side all this time, but when i try to protect you from these horrible people, you turn on me? for them?"

part of it was because this wasn't the richard he knew anymore, but that in and of itself didn't make asbel give up on him. he spent the entire fucking rest of the game thinking and worrying about him. even when it came down to "what if i have to kill him", he struggled. he kept resorting to "have to save him".

if this were going for a typical handling of a yandere, asbel would have been thanking him. grateful that richard loved him and "did it for him" - which is not necessarily untrue in richard's case, but it's the extreme measures taken that would often have one side eying the media in question for having someone be like oh wow that's so nice of you!

so tldr; i love how they handled the yandere aspect of richard's arc. due to the possession it could still be argued that it was never his fault, but richard himself still feels awful about it and strives to atone for it post game (or in the tacked on f arc). even he himself doesn't justify all the attempted murder he did because of his elevated emotions. even he doesn't justify it in his sane mind as "it was still for you though". the fact that he even recognizes that and accepts that if it was for asbel and asbel's peace of mind, he would have considered asbel's feelings on it in the first place, is such a contrast to what that kind of story usually goes for. richard's feelings for asbel could've been used as "too important for asbel to leave him for people who broke his (asbel's) heart", and they could have just made hubert the villain.

i am saying it is refreshing storytelling for the yandere trope my dudes.

i think he would simultaneously be pleased but also absolutely willing to take advantage of their feelings for him. hubert expects them to defer to him in the first place, so his darling being in love with him gives him more opportunities for emotional manipulation if they're behaving in a way he doesn't like... and i think, too, that he would feel a little disgusted with him. they're in love with him? really? foolish.
