WELL, AT least she was honest about it and a lot more contrite than other people who were in her same position. in an industry filled with deceit, lies and betrayal, penelope’s honesty was quite refreshing. reid sat back against his seat, regarding her carefully. “i appreciate your honesty,” reid said, folding his arms across his chest. “while a few directors would be happy with the attention and that power, i’m not one of them.” he had sworn he would never be one of those sleazy directors who make actresses sleep with them for a better part in their films. “don’t get me wrong; i’m flattered with the attention.” who wouldn’t be? he would be blind to deny penelope’s beauty and charm. “but i won’t use sex with you as a currency. that’s just not who i am.” he frowned a little though, unfolding his arms and resting them on the arm rest of his seat. “casting in films is a process. most of the time, we want established actors in lead roles because that what draws people in,” he explained. “since you’re not nearly as established nor as well known, you won’t get a lead role.” that was probably a little blunt, but reid was always quite blunt with actors. “at best i might be able to give you the role of a side character,” he added, so as to not crush her hopes.

Serena barely managed to dodge the first swipe of his arm before Adrian had his other arm snugly around her and was holding her to his chest. “Not fair,” she all but pouted at him even if her eyes were alight with mirth and joy, “no using your speed against me,” she said.

Even dead asleep, the scent of a fae was enough to jolt Marc awake. Ready to run, or fight, or hide, whatever he needed to do. There was no real rest out there alone. It sniffed at the air, feeling the slight breeze and correcting for it.
A park. How stupid could they have been? No real coverage, not that worked, trees were a bad place to hide from fae, it was far from universal, but enough could talk to them to make it worthless. Well.. There was always door number two. Move where there was no hiding for them, either, let them try to ambush him in the open of a human park. Explain that to the dog walkers and families. They stepped through the veil to appear near the fae, and took a few loping steps, checking around him before focusing on the young woman.
“Let me tell you, boss, you wanna go sneaking up on a man, best stay down wind.” He huffed, eyes flitting around him, constant vigilance, if he was going to be cocky and taunting, he couldn’t go getting caught. The irony alone would kill him. “Or you got that wrongheaded idea bout your lot not having a scent?” He’d met a lot that did. Usually only once. Unlike the woman in front of him, they’d all been decked out and clearly on the hunt, a look it knew all too well. Still, even if she didn’t look the same, that was what they did, and he knew better than to let down his guard around a fae based on appearances.
“Way I see it, boss. Whatever deal you’re looking to make, or favor you’re hoping to earn, well, it ain’t gonna happen if you gotta catch me. That good with you? Or I gotta say it again but with the teeth out?” Was it possible she wasn’t there for any of those reasons? Sure. But it was safer for him to assume otherwise. Even if it made for a bad first impression.

Steve woke up agitated again. Again, he had that nightmare about the day you disappeared and how your body vanished between his fingers. If they had left him, he would have finished off Thanos himself with his own hands.
He had searched through many books, through your things, everywhere. He needed a solution, a way he could bring you back.
The emptiness of being without you was enormous, and nothing could fill it. He tried to occupy his mind with different activities, but one way or another, everything always came back to you.
Several times he thought that there must be some way to go back in time, and he didn't even care if he had to start all over again; he was able to do whatever it took to bring you back.
He ran as fast as he could when he saw they were coming back. He didn't want you to be alone; it would probably be too confusing. He didn't have much time to think about how he was going to explain to you what had happened.
He stopped when he was close; he took a breath; he needed to calm down first; you couldn't see him so upset either; although it was obvious that he couldn't hide what had happened, he couldn't wipe the passage of time from his face.
“Y/N," Steve said carefully.
You looked at him confused; you didn't know what had happened.
“What happened? What am I doing here? “you questioned, looking around you. Steve was about to answer you when you interrupted him. “Who are you?"
Now Steve was the one who was confused, but then he remembered that maybe there was a slight possibility that you had suffered a blow to the head just before you disappeared; in fact, you were unconscious when he hugged you before you vanished.
He bit his lip, trying to contain all the feelings that were welling up inside him. He managed to convince you to go with him.
"Y/N has amnesia." Those words kept echoing in Steve's head, but he wasn't going to give up hope, not this time; somehow he was going to make you regain your memory, and if not, then he was going to make you get to know each other again, like in the beginning, until you fell in love with him again.
He wasn't going to lose you again.

Ches sat still as she worked on his face, though his bright blue hues watched her own face. She really did deserve far better than someone like him in her life, but she kept comin' round despite his warnings for her to do exactly the opposite. The silence was comfortable. CT's business was always talkin and when he had a reprieve from that it was refreshing. Usually he only found it when he was in solitude, but Aly afforded it to him in this moment and it created almost an intimacy between them in that moment. When she did speak up he cleared his throat even as a chuckle followed. "Right, cause that's what I was worried bout." he teased, his accent thick as he took one of her hands in his, his knuckles still split and caked with dried blood. "Thanks, really. I do appreciate it even if I'm a right dick bout it."

HE LOOKED... amazing as ever. seeing him again after so long... it didn’t feel like years had passed. devin still looked the same and her heart clenched painfully inside of her chest. she probably stared for a minute or two too long before she gathered her wits about her and sent him a hesitant smile. it was unlike her to be this.. unsure, but things weren’t the same as they had been years ago. “yeah, yeah, i’m just back in town to visit,” she confirmed, shoving her hands in the pockets of her jeans. “it’s harley’s parents’ anniversary,” she added, referring to her bandmate and best friend. “how’s.. how is your mom?” she asked with a little smile. she remembered her fondly from her childhood and she was a little worried when devin mentioned her health.

Another day at the office instead of the precinct. Carter missed the buzz of the lobby where cops would be hustling criminals, suspects, and drunken teenagers in and out of cells. He missed the late nights sitting in his patrol car waiting for a call to come through the radio.
Carter now worked at his parent’s law firm. Crunching files, sitting in on cases, fetching coffee, and most of the time staring out of the window at the passing cop cars on the street, their sirens blaring through the air. His focus was pulled away when he heard the elevator doors open to reveal a young lady. Carter sighed and stood slowly, smoothing out his shirt before smiling softly at her. Williams Corp was expecting a new secretary, so Carter was assuming the lady coming in was her. He made his way over to her and held his hand out to her. “You must be Alsyon, the new Secretary. Name’s Carter.”

You gave a biscuit to your daughter Sarah and another one to the puppy that was only a few weeks old that you had just adopted after the little one had been begging you for more than a month for a pet. You just couldn't say "no" to her; she actually looked a lot like Steve. Although that didn't bother you, you just kept pretending he didn't exist anymore.
You didn't notice that someone was watching them in the park; nothing seemed suspicious, not even when he started following you.
"Y/N, “Steve called out to you.
For a split second, you stopped but immediately kept walking, even though Steve caught up with them.
“Y/N, it's been a long time," Steve said.
“Who is he? “your daughter asked.
“An old work colleague," you replied. “I don't have anything to talk to you about," you mumbled quietly enough so your daughter wouldn't hear.
Steve turned to look at the girl, who looked a little dismayed, and then at the puppy. He stepped aside; it wasn't the time to talk.
You looked at the clock; it was eleven o'clock in the morning, and it wasn't time for Clarice to come home from school with your daughter. John and Clarice were busy taking all the children who were mutants back home after school.
You opened the door and closed it later, but Steve wouldn't allow it.
“Why didn't you tell me I have a daughter?“ Steve reproached you.
"You don't get to leave and then come back after all this time and expect me to welcome you with open arms."
“You just disappeared."
“I saw what you did with Sharon; I had planned that after you got Bucky to safety, I was going to tell you, you know, we don't need you; you'd better go," you said.
"Everything is all right?“ Lorna stepped in; you hadn't even realized when they'd arrived.
“I think you should leave, Rogers; you're not welcome here," Wanda said.
Steve looked down and turned to leave.
“I can still take Sarah for the ice cream I promised her, right?“ Wanda asked, not taking her eyes off the road.
