although satoru's always known you’re a stubborn brat, he absolutely loathes when you don’t greet him but meet him with requests and gentle demands. “baby, i need a favor.” you spout as soon as you gain proximity to him in the courtyard. you haven’t even made it all the way to him before you’re blurting it out at him and he looks at you as if you’ve repulsed him. “try again.” he tells you sternly. grinning at his response, you quickly adjust your demeanor and give him the twinkling eyes you know he’s weak to. “hi, my toru.” “better. hi, my baby.” satoru leans down to press a gentle kiss to your nose. “what’s the favor?” “my student has a crush on megumi and they’re not quite ready to act on it yet, but i want them to at least be able to talk to him, you know? maybe exchange numbers with him? and…well…you lived with him? and he’s your student?” his brow quirks in surprise. “that’s…not what i was expecting. well, what do they even see in him?” “maybe it’s the dead stare.” you reason with a shrug.
“yuuji or even toge i could almost understand, but megumi is…so aloof.” satoru muses. he shakes the thought away after a moment. “which of your students wants a shot with my prickly pear?” “sato akira. she’s a bit on the shyer side, but i really want to see her blossom this year, so please help me. please, please, please.” satoru scoffs, appalled you’d ask him for a thing without a reasonable offer to exchange. “and just what do i get out of it? you being pretty isn’t gonna cut it this time, sweetheart.”  “desserts on me.” an easy counter. humming, he contemplates before gently shaking his head. “i can get my own desserts. you’ll have to do better than that.” “no, no,” your soft chuckle coupled with an amused smile. “desserts on me,” not a drop of hesitation remaining, satoru nods viciously and chirps, “okay, i’ll help! whatever my baby needs.” “thank you, i missed you.” your hands slide into both of his. “did you miss me?” you ask it cutely, swaying your arms as you tug him closer to you with a satisfied and flirty smile, always cheeky in how you choose to adore him but it's always a moment of sweetness satoru indulges in greedily. he kisses you three times in a row. “you know i did. missed you every second you were gone, but i wish you would have started with that, you little brat.” “sorry,” your sheepish voice sweeps into a devout promise and an ardent declaration. “i won’t do it again, baby. i was just excited. i love you.” “love you,” he tugs your hand in his, bringing it to his lips. “you busy anymore? can i have you for the day?” a nod. “i do need to do some grading, but i can do it next to you, i suppose. also, you know you don’t have to ask. all my free time is yours.” “arguably the hottest thing i’ve heard today.” mumbled as he kisses your knuckles tenderly. “can you go to the store with me? i wanna pick my sweet treats to eat off your delectable body and i have to replace the strawberries i ate.” “you need to stop eating my fruit without asking when you come over.” you chastise him, a gentle fist against his chest. “irrelevant,” he pouts, pulling you into his torso, long arms weaving around your frame. “you coming with me, baby?” “we need to make a list beforehand. you know i can’t do a grocery store free-for-all with you. we’ll be there for hours. and i already told you my free time is yours so don’t be needy.” you smile adoringly as you say it and satoru can’t help the way he mirrors it. a part of him never thought he’d see the day he was finally able to make it work with another person and dance to the same tune. the strongest is so used to being the loneliest, but the love nestled between you both feels unwavering and indissoluble to him. satoru grumbles under his breath, “i’ll be what i want. you’re mine.”

why'd you let me let you go?
formerly entry 61
ex!megumi fushiguro x fem.reader
{ bullets in the dark | shooting through my hesitating heart | we were never gonna go far, 'cause i'm no good at loving someone else as good as you... }
megumi swore that he would never forget your expression the day he ended it with you, one that warped your beauty into one of melancholic pain.
just seeing the light dying from your eyes while tears cascaded down your cheeks was enough to put a bullet through his chest. megumi knew that his heart was breaking, but he had to do this-
he had to do this for you.
"megumi... please, tell me what i did wrong? w-why are you breaking up with me so suddenly?"
"isn't it obvious? i fell out of love with you, simple as that." megumi forces his voice to drip with absolute venom, willing his heart to harden as he wanted nothing more than to have you hate him; to have you completely lose all feeling for him so that letting you go wouldn't feel as painful.
he refuses to feel the remnants of regret beginning to form within the depths of his heart.
he refuses to allow the devastating expression of heartbreak that fills your expression stray him from the fact that you deserved better-
that you always deserved better.
he couldn't stay with you any longer, because if he didn't move at this very second, then all of his walls would completely crumble. he would see your tears and break down himself, falling to his knees as he begged you to come back to him.
that he didn't mean it.
that he never once stopped loving you.
with his back turned, he hears the sounds of your broken sobs, clenching his fists in response the moment your footsteps seem to pound against the pavement as you ran away from him.
not wishing for you to hurt yourself, megumi takes one last glance at you, watching as your quickly retreating form disappears into the crowd. a single tear was felt falling from his eyes, but megumi refused to pay any mind to it, convincing himself that it was just the rain.
ever since that day, he had a hard time focusing. his sleeping schedule was non-existent. each time he closed his eyes, he would be bombarded with memories of you.
and tonight was no different.
it has been three months since he had broken up with you, yet megumi had not been faring any better since that fateful day.
unable to stand sleeping in your once shared room while accepting the fact that your scent was beginning to fade, megumi spent another long night on the couch. his arms were thrown over his eyes, with his mind feeling hazy as he brings up yet another particular memory pertaining to you; one that he cherished deeply...
it was a stormy night that painted the skies in a dark hue, blocking out the sight of the moon and stars as only flashes of lightning served as a sole source of light. thunder rumbled in response to each flash, causing powerful reverberations to be felt across the dorm room.
megumi never once minded the sounds of the violent storms, actually managing to find comfort within the turbulence. after all, even at such a young age, megumi knew that he had dealt with far worse events than a mere thunderstorm.
his back was turned, with only a single blanket covering his form. megumi was simply basking in the sounds of the pelting rain, ready to fall into a deep slumber when he felt the hairs on the back of his neck beginning to stand.
megumi frowns, keeping both of his eyes closed to feign sleep as he strained to hear what was going on outside of his dorm. his body remained unnaturally stiff, with his hands already going into position just in case he needed to use his technique.
a few gentle knocks could be heard from the door, but he had a difficult time discerning the voice that was currently whimpering from outside. another flash of lightning was seen and when the thunder rumbled once more did the person let out a squeak before barging into his room.
frantic footsteps were heard going across his floor until he felt a lithe weight being shoved against his back. he opens his eyes, stiffening when he felt his bed dip with a strange added weight-
but when he smells the familiar scent of your shampoo, megumi visibly relaxes, facing you with the best of his abilities. he calls out your name and asks, "what's wrong?"
"'gumi, i'm scared... i really hate the sound of the storm."
megumi lets out a tsk while asking you to let go of him. he didn't mean for it to come off as cold or anything, but he could tell that he had inadvertently hurt your feelings when you relinquished your embrace within seconds.
being able to read you like a book, he grabs a hold of your wrist, preventing you from running away. with an almost uncharacteristic amount of gentleness, megumi settles you back down against his chest.
"relax, i didn't mean anything by it... i just wanted to hold you properly." he purposely places your head against his chest, entangling you within his embrace.
being surrounded by his warmth (and how the sounds of thunder were muffled thanks to his embrace) you willingly fell slack within his arms. the fear was slowly disappearing into thin air, with you even letting out a yawn in response.
"thank you... megumi..." your voice trails off before only soft breaths could be felt coming out in gentle puffs from your parted lips, making megumi smile in response.
knowing that you were asleep, megumi whispers your name, placing a kiss against your hair while silently confessing his devotion to you...
a low hiss escapes from megumi at the memory, recalling your warmth and how much he couldn't sleep without it.
the day you confessed to him, admitting your feelings long before he did, megumi swore it was the best day of his life. there was a happiness felt coursing through him, and he didn't think it would ever be possible to achieve such feelings of light.
even though it was difficult for him vocalize and tell you his feelings for you, never did he ever stop trying to show you his love through his actions alone. words never did come easy to him, but sometimes, he felt like you needed such words of affirmations in order to feel confident in your relationship with him.
each time you would tell him how much you loved him, megumi found the words stuck within his throat, nearly choking him as something akin to anxiety courses through him.
did he really deserve your love?
was he even capable of cherishing you like you deserved? or would he just simply abandon you when things got too hard?
these were the thoughts that plagued his mind throughout the two years you began dating. his self-deprecating thoughts would constantly keep him from truly opening his heart up to you, only being able and brave enough to love you from a distance.
he knew that his distance hurt you. he knew that each time you would get closer to him, to try and deepen your bond with him in your relationship, only to fail the moment megumi became closed off that it hurt you a great deal...
"ne, megumi, do you feel like going out with me?"
he stops looking at his phone, still settled on the couch when he sees you standing in front of him. a bored expression was seen on his face, and he felt too tired to do anything if he was being honest.
"not really..." megumi was never the type to lie to you, hence why he was honest with his feelings when it came to going out of the apartment. he ignores how his chest seemed to squeeze in pain with your defeated expression, almost changing his mind to tell you that it was okay to go out if that's what made you happy.
but you beat him to it, masking your sadness with a wide grin and a clipped laugh. "that's okay! let's just stay in and watch some movies. we can order some takeout at our favorite place and just relax here."
you disappear for a brief moment, going to get something in the closet. when you came back, you held your phone and blanket in hand before joining him on the couch. as you were cuddling closer to him, megumi could feel the guilt eating away at him, yet all he could do was continue holding you close.
megumi watches as you grab your remote, flipping through the channels while keeping the fake smile plastered on your face. he slides his eyes shut and gently places a kiss against your hair, knowing at that exact moment that it was high time for him to let you go-
to allow you to find your own happiness that wasn't with him-
because you deserved something far better than what he was willing to give...
unable to handle the sharp pain that was settled on his chest, making it difficult for him to breathe, megumi stands up from his spot on the couch. he grabs his keys and puts on his hoodie over his plain shirt and sweatpants haphazardly. he didn't care that his hair was a mess, or the fact that he had deep circles beneath his eyes from his lack of sleep
all megumi wanted to do now was forget.
and all he could taste was the bitterness of regret, his mind filling with scenarios of what could have been.
he should have taken you out each time you got bored of spending time in your apartment.
he should have appreciated all those times he came back to you, exhausted from his missions as you willingly cooked all of his favorite meals for him before spoiling him with a bath.
he should have loved and given you so much more.
yet due to his own stupidity and lack of emotional intelligence, all he did was distance himself away from you, further damaging your heart.
so he heads out into the city with no clear destination in mind. his thoughts were running haywire, and all he could think about was how much he missed you-
how, if given a second chance, he would do better and give you the love you had always deserved-
making megumi scoff at the thought.
it's far too late for that. i'm sure she hates me by now, and nothing is going to change that.
his thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a shrill scream, one that made him respond almost immediately as he stood frozen on the spot.
"let me go! i told you to leave me alone!"
he frowns, unable to comprehend how no one else could hear the sounds of your distressing cries, passing through the crowd as he followed the sound of your voice.
even if megumi hadn't heard from you in so long, it didn't change the fact that he could detect your voice from a million miles away. that he would always come to your side if you ever needed him-
and somehow, he knew that you needed him at this very moment.
he allows his legs to take him to where you were, finding you trapped against an unknown man as he forces you into the alleyway. fire was felt burning through his veins, and he thought about summoning his divine dogs, but ultimately decided against it.
after all, it would feel much more satisfying to rip this bastard to shreds with his own bare hands.
taking advantage of the bastard's distracted state, megumi gains up on him while putting his fist down against his head with as much force as possible. the sheer amount of strength that he had placed in such a punch was enough to make the asshole fall back with a groan, leaving your shocked form still pressed against the concrete walls.
"what the fuck-"
megumi doesn't give the bastard a chance to recover, coming back down on him when he shoves at his chest. he lands with an audible groan when megumi continues to beat the living hell out of him, allowing the memory of your distress cries to fuel his anger at this prick who dared to take advantage of you.
"megumi, stop, you're going to kill him!" your familiar scent was what finally makes him stop throwing his punches, making him look down at the bastard only to see him bloodied, bruised, and knocked out.
megumi finally steps away from him, feeling your arms wrapped around the front of his chest when he stands to his full height. he looks behind you, nearly melting as he basked at your familiar warmth seeping into him.
wishing to take you away from such a violent sight, megumi wraps his arms around your trembling form, walking off to the side while completely ignoring the bastard that was still passed out in the middle of the alleyway. he feels your shivering and stops walking, taking off his hoodie while pressing it to the front of your chest.
"wear it, you need to warm up."
your eyes were still stained red with tears, simply nodding at him as you took his hoodie and put it over your form. you end up cuddling into the sleeves, letting out a shaky 'thank you' before crying once more.
megumi frowns before wrapping his arms around you, holding you tightly against him as his fingers gently strokes at your hair. "you idiot, why did you even go out with such a moron anyways?"
you cling to him, feeling your nails dig into his back as you buried your face within his chest. "i did it t-to try and forget about y-you!"
you loosen your hands from its embrace, now clinging to the front of his shirt as your head was now bowing down to him. "you have n-no idea, how much it hurt when you ended it with me. i-i never wanted to leave your side, megumi, yet... you told me that you fell out of love with me, and all i wanted to do was die-"
unable to stand your pain anymore, megumi calls out to you, his voice breaking when says the syllables of your name.
"look at me."
you refused to heed his command, and with a click of his tongue, megumi places his hand on your chin, forcing you to face him before placing his lips over yours in a searing kiss.
he could taste the saltiness of your tears against your chapped lips, letting out a groan as he tried to convey all the emotions he felt for you- how he still felt for you. when the need for air proved to be too much did he finally pull away from you, breathing heavily as his chest moved rapidly with his slight hyperventilation.
"that was a lie, i never stopped loving you." megumi frames at your face with his two hands, basking in the love that was still seen shining within your honest gaze. "the only reason why i broke it off with you was because i thought you deserved better than me... far better than what i was giving you. and it just-"
you end up interrupting him, placing your hands on the collar of his shirt to pull him down as you gave him your own kiss, slotting your lips together with his. the sensation was just as perfect as megumi remembered it, with you and him both seeming to come together as each other's missing puzzle piece.
"you truly are an idiot, megumi. if you payed even a speck of attention, you would have known that i loved you regardless of what you did or didn't do."
"but-"
you place a finger against his lips, stopping him from speaking any further. "you just admitted to me how you broke up with me because you thought i deserved better, but what you failed to see was how no one could have ever been better than you, 'gumi."
megumi swore that he felt his heart beginning to melt when he heard your usual nickname for him. and the relief he felt was so staggering that he ends up resting his head on your shoulders, allowing his tears to freely fall.
"it's true that you were never quite vocal about your emotions, but that never meant that you didn't love or cherish me. i know that you did love me, but through your actions alone."
"like how every time we would go out, you would always walk on the side closer to the street, protecting me from any incoming traffic."
"or how each time i got sick, you would constantly baby and care for me, forcing me to lay in bed as you made me some of your delicious rice porridge while wiping the sweat from my brow with a damp handkerchief."
you continue to list several examples of megumi showing his love for you, making his heart grow and respond to you. with you in his arms, he knew that he could not let this second chance squander; that there was no way he would let you go ever again.
unable to keep himself away from you, he calls out to you, pulling away to meet your gaze. using the pad of his thumb, he traces at your bottom lip while admitting, "i should have never let you go... i love you."
and with his confession hanging within the night air, megumi closes his eyes before pressing his lips against yours, his heart feeling like it was freed knowing that you accepted him for who he was-
that you had always accepted and loved him unconditionally.

a.n. - i have always wanted to rewrite this story, because i felt as though the original was too rushed, and the pain / angst and yearning wasn't quite as evident. so here, i hope you readers actually felt something akin to pain and heartache, with pinpricks of hope that your love would bloom and grow stronger with this second chance with megumi 🥹

♡ SPILLED OUT WORDS - FUSHIGURO MEGUMI
WARNINGS: fluff, gn!reader
WORD COUNT: 777
NOTES: thank you so much for this request! i hope it’s what you wanted and sorry for the wait <333
Tumblr media
fushiguro megumi has always hated seeing other boys flirt with you. the urge to punch all of them right in the face has been gnawing at him, but he has always succeeded to stop himself before ruining someone’s face, and possibly your friendship.
sometimes, megumi wishes he could shut his feelings down, because why would he fall in love with his best friend out of all people? why you? well, he understands why he fell in love with you because what is there not to love about the person who’s been making him smile since you were both seven years old?
the two of you practically live at each other’s houses. studying together, playing games together, napping together, crying together, eating together. you do everything with the other party, always making sure the other one is okay and putting smiles on each other’s faces.
that is something megumi would never want to ruin, but his feelings for you are becoming too much. every time he sees you, his heart aches. it aches for your heart. it needs you to know of his love, but how would he ever be able to admit his feelings after such a long time?
he can’t help himself from having to take deep breaths because his heart always tends to beat quicker with you close by. how can he keep going like this for many years to come? maybe it’s better to just get those feelings out? maybe your friendship has already been ruined because of his never ending feelings.
“you’re staring ‘gumi, what’s wrong?” that nickname, he can almost swear that he’s most likely blushing like crazy right now. it’s a name you’ve called him since you two first got to know each other but a name that has only began to melt his heart for the past couple of years.
the two of you are sitting on the couch in his dorm, watching a tv-show together that you’ve both found to like, but megumi can barely focus on it as his mind is caught by you.
“oh, no nothing, i’m fine,” he mutters, trying to avoid your gaze by quickly looking away and staring right at the tv-screen.
you tilt your head to the side. “come on, there’s always something going on when you’re staring. do you want to tell me something? don’t you like this show anymore? we could change-“
“no, i’m fine. stop thinking you know everything about me,” he interrupts, taking you aback as his tone is different from just seconds ago.
he lets out a sigh and leans against the cushion, hiding his face in his hands. “i’m sorry, i just can’t-“ he stops himself from speaking any further, but you want to hear more, raising a brow and shuffling slightly closer to him. “what? you can’t what?”
megumi avoids your gaze, not wanting to look you in the eyes as he opens his mouth to speak the words that’s been on the tip of his tongue for years. “i like you, i have for years, i can’t just pretend like it’s nothing,” he finally admits.
in all honesty, he had thought of this scenario at least a thousand times in his head and he couldn’t help but expect a more dramatic confession, but he’s never really been like that. if anything, he prefers it to be like this, where it’s just the two of you alone, but maybe he’s fucked everything up now. perhaps this will be it for your years of friendship.
“‘gumi….” you finally speak as megumi is making himself ready to bolt out the front door and never see your face again, but he’s quickly stopped as you continue to talk. “if you would’ve told me earlier, we would have probably been a couple for years now.”
he finally looks towards you with wide eyes as there’s a smile playing on your lips. “i really really like you too,” that’s all he needs to hear to breathe out in relief.
for a while, the two of you just look at each other in silence before you all of a sudden wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him in for a hug. megumi chuckles lightly and puts his arms around your middle as you cuddle up on the couch, holding onto each other. “how long have you been feeling the same?” megumi asks as you bury your face into the crook of his neck.
“since we were kids,” you mumble as he pulls you closer to him, like it’s the most natural thing he’s ever done. “guess we’ll have to make up for all those years we didn’t tell each other then…”

"Why am I here?"
You stopped in your tracks and turned around to Megumi. He was standing underneath a cherry blossom tree when a cool breeze of spring air swept through his hair, carrying pink petals that caught in his black strands. His hair was shorter than it had been in autumn; not by much but the difference was still noticeable. You wondered whether he had cut it to not resemble the version of himself Sukuna had turned him into.
“You know why you are here,” you answered him, ignoring the frown on his brow. “This is an intervention.”
“What kind of intervention,” he asked back, clearly starting to get upset.
“What kind of intervention do you think it is?”
“Whatever it is, I’m not interested.” Megumi was already turning away from you again when you called out for him.
“We are worried,” you told him, almost shouting.
He just scoffed.
“Who is we?”
“Yūji, me, Toge, Maki, Yūta” you replied. “Panda, too, and Ieiri-sensei. Ever since December, ever since that last fight. Do you think we don’t know what's been going on with you? Do you think we don't know you've been skipping therapy and meals. We know you're just holed up in your room the whole day. We know you don't want to be here; you don't want to be with us anymore-”
“Then why can't you let me be?”
His shout made you flinch, but you had faced scarier things than an upset classmate.
“Because we care,” you shouted back. “We care too much to let you ruin your life like this! Don't misunderstand: We are not making light of the situation you were in - you are in. We understand that none of us could ever possibly imagine the things you have gone through, but you cannot ask us to let our friend die, who we fought so hard to save. You can't ask that of us!”
Megumi just rolled his eyes. “And what about what I want? What about the things I want,” he asked.
“For once, you don't get to say in this,” you shook your head. “It's not much we demand of you. We want you to eat properly. We know you haven't. We want you to step outside at least once a week, doesn't have to be long, just sit in the sun for a few minutes. That's all we ask. Or open your window, it's been barricaded since you moved back in in January. And go to your therapy sessions. We know you have them scheduled and we know you've been skipping them. You can't expect to get better if you don't go to these sessions.”
“And what if I don't want to get better?”
“That's not an option. I told you: For once you don't get to say in this.”
Megumi stared at you from between the falling cherry blossom petals that were carried down to the ground by the wind. You could see in his eyes that right now, in this moment in time, he thought he hated you. You just had to hope he didn't actually feel that way. If he did, you did you definitely would have been the wrong choice to have this conversation with him.
It had been quite a debate between the second years, Yūji, and you about who should talk to Megumi. You even considered asking Ieiri-sensei about being the one to talk to him, but in the end, everyone agreed it would be best if it were you. They were convinced you were the one he trusted the most, the one he liked the best. At least those were the others’ arguments. You weren't sure how true they held, now that he stared at you as if he wished you were to drop dead to the floor.
“All right,” Megumi sighed. “I'll oblige to your demands under one condition: Give me one good reason why I should continue fighting. But keep in mind: my mother is dead. My father is dead, killed by the man who raised me, the man who – although he is not my father – is the closest thing I've ever had to one, the man who I had to watch being killed by my own hands. My sister is dead, also killed by me. What do I live for? Give me one good reason.”
You stared back at Megumi watching the hatred in his eyes. It was obvious he didn't believe you had any idea what he was going through.
Truthfully, you didn't. Your situation was nothing like his, and you never had been in a situation like this before nor would you ever be, but that didn't mean you didn't know all the facts he just listed. His father, his mother, his sister, and Gojō-sensei, all the people he ever might have considered family, were gone, along with so many others. And in a large part he blamed himself for it.
It was not his fault, how could it have been his fault, when it had been Sukuna, who had possessed his body. But you supposed having to watch your own body commit such terrors, having to watch as your hands took life after life, unable to interfere, unable to save his friends and family, unable to do anything but watch them all being slaughtered… it wasn’t surprising he blamed himself.
“Gojō’s in a coma, one he might never wake back up from, and it's nobody's fault but mine. Do you really believe I can live in a world like that?”
You wanted to disagree with him, tell him that it was not his fault, that he was not the one to blame, that as long as you all stuck together, there was still hope, but you knew better than to do so. Instead, you started with what he had demanded of you.
“You want me to give you a reason to keep on living,” you asked. “Gojō-sensei is not dead. As you said he's in a coma. Ieiri-sensei has been working on him every day. As far as we know he might wake up any day now.”
Megumi shook his head. “You really believe that,” he asked, “if you’re really believing that, you are more naïve than I believed you to be.” He sounded disappointed.
“Not naïve,” you disagreed. “Hopeful.”
“Same thing.”
“But let's assume for one moment Gojō were to wake back up,” you continued the train of thought before Megumi could derail it again. “Wouldn’t you want to be there? Wouldn’t you want to see him again, talk to him again?”
“You’re dealing in probabilities; probabilities are not good enough. Give me something tangible.”
You blinked. You had really thought he would give in at Gojō. So, what were you to say now?
“A stary sky then,” you offered. “To go star gazing the way we did last summer. On a blanket, out in front of the school, sharing snacks and drinks.”
Megumi scuffed.
“Another sunrise,” you continued. “Pinks and reds and oranges dying the clouds, a new day with new possibilities-”
“New suffering? Not good enough.”
“A puppy’s fur under your fingertips, these sharp, tiny teeth burying in your skin.”
“And what for?” Before you could answer, he kept going. “All my life I’ve tried to form relationships, be close to people I care about, and all my life they left me. One after the other. So what good is another stary sky, another sunrise, a puppy’s fur underneath my fingertips, if I don’t have anyone to share it with? It’s not good enough.”
A part of your mind was still hung up on the thought that it was probably better for Megumi to blame the dead for being dead than himself, but you quickly answered.
“You have us,” you told him, taking a careful step forward. “Maki, Toge, Panda, Yūta.”
His ocean blue eyes glimmered as he fully turned towards you as if he was waiting for something specific.
“You have Yūji.”
His shoulders sacked, and he looked away.
“Not good enough. They’re all gonna leave eventually.”
“I won’t,” you disagreed. “I’m not gonna leave. I made you a promise when we entered Shibuya together, that I’d always be there, and I don’t plan on breaking that promise.”
Megumi shook his head, biting his lips, still not looking at you.
“You’ll be there,” he asked, sounding disbelieving. “For every stary sky, every sunset. Every meal, walk, therapy session.”
“Yes.” Your reply was unwavering.
“You don’t even know what that means,” Megumi sighed, finally looking back up to you, but now he seemed rather sad than angry. As if the scenarios he had painted were what he wanted but were too far out of reach to even attempt to grasp them. “I’m sick. My mind- I’m broken. Something inside my head is broken and I don’t know if it will ever heal again, and if it does, if it heals right. A promise like you’re offering… it wouldn’t just be for the next days or weeks. It might be months, years, hell, it might be decades of me trying to shut my self away, of nightmares, therapy, being unable to laugh or feel anything other than this pitch-black darkness. You can’t promise me you’ll be strong enough to be there. I don’t doubt that you have the strength to see me through all this, I know you do. But there will be times when it will seem as if I’d be okay, and you’ll be hopeful, but when I have a bad phase again- It would hurt you, and I can’t hurt any more of my friends.”
“And you think the way you’re behaving right now is hurting nobody? Megumi, I won’t promise that I’ll always be there. I can’t. I’m still a sorcerer, I still have to go to missions, and am in danger every time I go. But I will be there for you for as long as I can and for as long and often as you want me to be.”
“For every stary sky?”
“And every sunrise.”
“Every meal?”
“If that’s what you want, yes. And for every walk, and if you want me to, I’ll even wait outside the therapist’s office for you.”
Megumi averted his gaze, staring at a spot right in front of your feet.
“Why? Why would you do that? What do you get in return?”
Carefully you took a step forward. “Because I care about you Megumi. And even though it might seem selfless, getting to be there for you, supporting you, trying to help you to get back to your feet, getting to watch you fight to get better, being with you through all this, is actually a very selfish act.”
Megumi looked back up, his eyes scanning your face for a moment.
“Can you hug me,” he asked, voice quiet over the wind in the branches above you.
“Of course,” you smiled and slowly crossed the last distance between you, wrapping your arms around him. He seemed to melt into the touch, almost fragile, his body moving closer to yours until his whole front was flatly pressed against yours, his face buried against the side of your neck, his hair tickling your cheek and ear. You held him tight, not too tight, so he still could breathe without effort, but tight enough for him to feel how serious you were with everything you had offered.
“I’m just scared of ending up alone again,” he whispered. “And I can’t lose you too. You’re too important to me.”
“You won’t lose me,” you whispered back, rubbing his back through the thick fabric of his oversized hoodie.
“What if you die?”
“I won’t. And if I do, I’ll come back as a curse, like Rika.”
The sound of a small chuckle surprised you, but you quickly held Megumi tighter, hoping to engrave the sound into your memory forever.
Before you could say anything else, Megumi’s phone started ringing. You stiffened up, ready to pull away, but Megumi kept you close.
“Aren’t you going to answer,” you asked, hesitantly wrapping your arms back around him.
“No,” he replied.
“What if it’s important?”
“How important can it be,” Megumi shrugged. “Not more important than this, anyway.”
After a while the ringing stopped, and Megumi slowly loosened his hold on you. Carefully pulling away, you came face to face with him.
“Thank you,” he said sincerely.
“What for?”
“Everything. I… I tend to lose sight of the good things in life and let the darkness swallow me whole.”
Taking a step back, you reached out your hand for him to take. Questioningly he raised his eyebrows at you but placed his hand in yours.
“Now you won’t get lost in the darkness,” you told him with a smirk, making him roll his eyes.
“That’s too cheesy for me,” he shook his head.
“Oh, don’t start laughing now, Fushiguro,” you cried. “I saw that! The corner of your mouth was twitching!”
“It wasn’t! That’s annoyance at how cheesy you were being!”
He only kept his expression in check for another second before he burst out laughing. Using your intertwined hands, he pulled you back into a hug, this one more casual than the first. When his phone started ringing again, both of you ignored it.
After you had calmed down from the laughter, Megumi’s eyes fixed themselves on your face, watching you as were catching your breath.
“Can I kiss you,” he suddenly asked, making you freeze in your motion.
Surprised you looked at him, your heart seeming to miss a few beats, but then you nodded your head, and a moment later his lips were on yours, soft, a little chapped, but gentle. It was a sweet kiss, nothing too extravagant, and still enough to steal your breath and make you weak in your knees.
It was perfect, you suddenly realized, kissing Megumi like his. Around you, cherry blossom petals were floating on a warm spring breeze, birds were singing in the branches above you, and Megumi’s arms were warm and secure around you while his heart beat a firm rhythm underneath your fingers, somewhat too fast for a normal heartbeat, but then again yours was probably racing too.
The perfect moment got interrupted by yet another ring of Megumi’s phone.
“I think you should answer it,” you mumbled against his lips. “It’s probably really something important.”
Megumi sighed but pulled away enough to grab his phone out of his pocket.
“It’s just Yūji,” he rolled his eyes, but before he could answer the call, the ringing stopped again.
He shrugged, slipping the phone back into his pocket.
“I got a question,” he suddenly declared.
“Ask away.”
“You said: another stary sky, another sunrise, and…” he hesitated for a moment before continuing. “a puppy’s fur underneath my fingertips. Where do you plan to get me a puppy from?” He sounded amused, but you knew him good enough to know that he would do hell of a lot to play with a puppy sometime soon.
“Okay, here’s the thing.”
“Oh dear.”
“Yūji and I were thinking, for a while now.”
“That can’t be a good sign,” Megumi sighed. “What crazy idea did you two come up with now?”
“I’m gonna ignore that low-key insult, and let you live” you announced, “But do you know Principal Yaga’s friend, the one who had all these dogs?”
Megumi nodded, clearly hesitant about whether or not he really wanted to know what Yūji and you had come up with.
“So, one of the dogs had puppies a few weeks back and we were thinking that it might be good to adopt one of them, for our year. We’ve been talking to the teachers and thinking things through and if all of us take turns caring for it, it won’t be too much responsibility all at once. And it would give us some sort of stability, having to go on walks on regular hours, playing, teaching it commands… but there’d also someone to keep us company when we don’t feel so good, someone who can’t give us advice, but also won’t ask questions either. Someone who accepts us as we are, no matter how good we are in school or whatever. So… yeah, the puppy is already old enough to be separated from its mother and is moving in next Friday.”
Megumi stared at you.
“You adopted a puppy,” he asked incredulously.
“We adopted a puppy,” you corrected. “Yeah.”
“And we‘ll share responsibility for it?”
You nodded, and Megumi’s eyes suddenly grew hard.
“I don’t know that dog yet, but I’ll fight you for custody after graduation,” he declared, making your eyes widen.
Graduation. That was still three years away, the furthest Megumi had talked about the future since November.
Swallowing your surprise, you shrugged. “That’s okay with me.”
“But wait,” Megumi suddenly stopped. “Before the puppy arrives, we need all kinds of stuff. It won’t be like with Shiro and Kuro, it’ll need a basket, and bowls and a leash! I think we’ll need several baskets, so we don’t have to carry them around all the time. And food! We need special-”
He was interrupted by the ringing of a mobile phone, this time yours.
“Yūji,” you told him, showing him the screen on which a picture of your pink haired classmate had popped up.
“Let’s answer it,” Megumi sighed. “He’ll just keep calling otherwise.”
You had barely pressed the green button to answer the call, when Yūji’s voice was already sounding from the small speaker, loud enough that you didn’t even have to put your ear to it.
“Megumi isn’t answering his phone,” Yūji all but screamed. “I’ve tried calling him dozens of times but he’s not answering! I’m really worried! We need to-”
“Yūji, Yūji, calm down!” Quickly you interrupted your panicking friend, pressing the speaker button so Megumi could listen in. “He’s with me, he’s fine, we were talking a walk.”
On the other side silence spread out.
“And you didn’t call dozens of times, you called three times,” Megumi added, leaning down to the speaker.
On the other end, a small “oh” was audible.
“So, what’s so important that you decided to terrorize Megumi via phone calls,” you asked, shooting Megumi a glance.
His eyebrows were furrowed, and it was not hard to tell that he had only now realized just how worried his friends were about him, how much they cared about him. Enough to send ever cheerful Yūji into something akin to a panic attack just because he hadn’t answered his phone for a few minutes.
“I didn’t terrorize him,” Yūji protested.
“You kinda did, but whatever. What’s going on?”
“You guys need to come to the hospital wing asap,” Yūji told you.
Megumi and you exchanged glances. The hospital wing? That wasn’t good. Megumi took your hand in his and started walking back the way you had come.
“We’re on our way,” you told Yūji, “What’s going on? Who got hurt?”
“Nobody,” Yūji sounded like he was running himself now, slightly out of breath. “Gojō-sensei’s awake.”
And with that he ended the call.
Megumi and you were both so surprised about the message, that you came to a slithering halt. Gojō was awake? Sure, you had told Megumi it was a possibility, that he might wake up soon, but you had not believed it to actually, really happen at all.
For a short moment Megumi and you looked at each other,f inding your own surprise and relief mirrored on his face. And then you took off running, taking the quickest way to the hospital wing, your hands intertwined.

Going to a festival with JJK men
Its your first time going to a festival and your glad you have them to share it with.

•Megumi•
You and Megumi walked through the crowed of people, you almost got lost and been split up if Megumi wasn't holding onto your hand so tightly.
It was after school when you learned that there was going to be a festival not so far from Jujutsu high and that Nobora had made plans for everyone to go together. But no one was counting on how busy it would be. Immediately, when you stepped into the crowed you started to get pushed down the path, away from everyone. You looked back and saw a head of spikey black hair looking around frantically, it was Megumi. You reached your arm up and waved at him making him lock eyes with you and start pushing through the crowd to you. When he reached you he grabbed your hand.
"What do you want to do?" He asked slowly moving you beside him so you could walk without you getting dragged.
"Well I was going to look for a snack first..." You said as you passed food stalls inspecting the food available.
"OOO Megumi!" You stopped now linking with his arm.
"They have Takoyaki " you said excited as you walked closer to the stall.
The entire time you ordered and got your food you didn't realise how hot Megumi had gotten. (Heat wise)
"Megumi? Are you okay?" You asked pitting the back of your hand on his forehead. He got so hot he started to turn red.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He said turning the other way.
"How about we go somewhere quieter?" He asked and you nodded, ready having all you needed. You walked to the end of the festival and into a wooded area where no one would be. Or so you thought.
"Sh, Megumi, do you hear that?" You asked
He stood listened until he heard a sound of what was like a child sobbing.
Quickly He summoned his divine dogs to follow the sound.
It was a child crying, he had lost his parents in the crowed and he didn't know how to get back to them.
"He, its okay we'll help you find your parents" You said rubbing the boys back.
Megumi was a bit awkward on the other hand. He was the youngest and even then he used to beat up kids his age, he didn't really know what to say or do.
"Where did you last see them?" You asked the boy
"Near- Near the game area-" He huffed out.
You and Megumi (under your instruction) both took one of the boys hands and walked through the crowd again.
"There they are" Megumi said before flagging down the frantic parents and handing their kid back.
They tried to give you money for gratitude but you and Megumi kept refusing.
"Seeing the kid safe is enough for me" Megumi said before the parents thanked you guys a final time and walked away.
"I wish I had that when I was a kid" Megumi said
"To feel loved."
he obviously was in a daze becuase he had never really talked about his parents or childhood before or pretended not to care.
"I guess that means more love from me" you said getting up on your tip toes and giving his cheek a peck.
~Yuji~
"CONGRATULATIONS" The man running the tent said, Yuji won the ball throwing game and hit all the cars down, which seemed impossible when the sheer weight of the ball was equivalent to foam.
"Which one do you want?" Yuji asked you as he won a prize.
"What? Are you sure? You already won me these 3." You said looking down at the 3 plushness you already picked out.
"I'm not going to do anything with them anyway, plus they would way better on your bed."
"So would she" Sukuna said quickly being covered by Yuji's hand. You forgot that someone was third wheeling. So you quickly picked out another prize and walked along side Yuji.
"What do you want to do now?" He asked
"I don't really have anything in mind" you said pulling yourself closer to Yuji's side to avoid getting lost.
"Well in that case" Yuji said
"Can I show you something cool?"
You guys ended up back at Jujutsu high, you threw all the prizes in your dorm before you followed Yuji out side the dorm rooms and to the back, there was a ladder leading up onto the roof.
"After you" he said
You climbed up closely followed by Yuji. In the middle of the roof was a thin futon with some pillows on it.
"Yuji..." you said
"Remember when you said you wanted to star gaze, well I looked into it and tonight there should be a meteor shower"
You walked over to the futon with Yuji and laid down on a pillow and his head on your chest.
He pointed constellations out until the spectacular show began.
☆Yuta☆
You were just wandering around the festival playing games and trying food intil out of the corner if you eye you spoted a stair case up the side of a mountain. A few light were strung up the side railing of the steps which made you intrigued.
You followed the stringed lights until they eventually strung off the path and into the forrest. For a moment you wondered if it was a good idea to follow the lights, well what's the worst that can happen?
Each step you took the less dense the forest was, eventually yoy reached a stone platform above the whole festival.
"This is...amazing" you muttered to your self
"It sure is" a voice said scaring you out of your skin
"Y-Y-YUTA?!? What are you doing here!???!" You said making him let out a chuckle. Your cheeks bighted and the sound of his laugh alone, my God you had fallen hard for this boy.
"I was just waiting for someone to come." He said sheepishly
"Oh, sorry for barging in then." You said eating the last of your cotton candy.
"Well...Uh that's kind of the thing...I was sort of expecting...you." He said
You only looked at him confused.
"NOT IN LIKE A WEIRD WAY- LIKE I could see you down there and saw you come up the stairs..." He said making a fool out of himself. Or so he thought.
The sound of people chattering below was minor compared to the sound of the crickets
"Um, I wanted to tell you something anyway" He said looking out over all the people while you only looked at him.
"I-"
BOOM
Fire works started going off throwing you into surprise.
"Wow" you breathed out.
"You've never seen fire works before?" he asked shocked. Probably because he grew up with them his entire life.
"Not in real life, no" your eyes lit up after every fire works explosion.
"Sorry what were you saying before" you asked as you snapped out the day dream while the fire works were on pause.
"I-" more fire works went off so you couldn't hear him, but you read his lips.
"I LIKE YOU TOO" you shouted over the fire works, making him give you the most genuine smile you have ever seen.

Dear Fushiguro Tsumiki,
How are you today? I’m so sorry that we haven’t talked in so long.
Forgive me for asking so many questions in this letter— I know too little about writing them; my mother is the one who asked me to write this saying that it would help me keep in touch with my friends or write better (either of the two, I can’t quite remember).
Between an urban area or a rural area, which would you prefer? I’ve had to go all around the place because of my mother and I’m still all the way in Tanegashima now. If you were to go from Tokyo to where I am, you’d have to either go for a drive lasting more than 20 hours or book a three hour flight.
I’ve only stayed in the city once— that was when we were still in the same school, and we could all fit in my aunt’s apartment since my father was outstationed for the whole year. But I digress. Personally I prefer the city. It all feels so modern, and so much less empty than how it’s like here on this little island. I mean, we have the space centre, so I can always visit that, but after the third or fourth time you’d probably get a little bored of it too.
I wish I could go to Tokyo again one day, though. I’d definitely take the time to visit you, too. I read on a pamphlet once of how pretty everything gets in Tokyo during winter time, especially during Christmas. We don’t really celebrate Christmas here but the pamphlet reminded me of that one December when we spent it at my aunt’s, we ate lots of KFC and had a little party while my aunt sang songs and drank enough alcohol to prove she had a liver of steel a million times over.
It’s nice to reminisce on these things, and it’s nice to reminisce on when we were still there too. I know I never told you this enough, but I was so happy when you walked up to me on the playground that day and asked if you wanted to be friends. I really, really liked your hair and wanted to ask you the same. I was just too shy to do it, and thought that if I would I’d end up messing things up and mortifying myself. I miss that and you and I miss 2010 and I miss Tokyo, and walking back from school with you and Megumi (you were like my cool older sister), and I really, really miss doing each other’s hair. It was the most joyful I’d ever been in my then 8 years of life and every day was a new fragment of happiness to keep in my heart like a picture in a locket.
Now I really want to go there again, and maybe go to the Shinjuku-Gyoen, or see the lights at night. I wish I could stay for a whole year and see how the trees can change from being highlighted cherry blossom pinks, to lush greens with summer dew on them, to golden ginkgo leaves. I’d keep them with me, too. I hope you can take me there one day and we can see everything together again. My apologies if I’m asking too much of you.
Also, how is Megumi? I miss him too. Is he the way he was, still? Is everything okay between you and him, still? Unlike elementary school, the boys in junior high are all taller than the girls, so since we’re the same age do you think he’d be taller than me too? Is he taller than you, or are you still one of the tallest girls in junior high like how you were in elementary school?
It’s very late and I still have so much I want to talk about with you, but I’m really sleepy now. My eyes are barely open and my face is about to fall on the paper, I think. Just know that I’m thinking of the two of you all the time. XX

28-2-2011
The train to the airport is arriving in a minute, and you’re sure your mother won’t let you just wait for the next one, so you’re stuck clutching your little luggage bag as you look at Tsumiki and Megumi, that inseparable pair, and their snowy-haired “benefactor” (whatever that means. You think he’s more like their father sometimes, though).
Even if you knew it was inevitable and that this day would eventually come, especially with your leaving Tokyo being pulled even earlier than you thought it would, a part of you pretended that you’d still get to stay with them for a little while longer. In Tokyo you’d solidified your place and built your roots— you had friends, were doing alright in school and had even begun to be less anxious about everything. Now you’d be uprooted again, you thought as your fists trembled, Now you’d be back to square one.
2011 had started as a busy year— your father had begun preparations to move somewhere else where you and your mother could follow him and the three of you would be together again. It was busy for Tsumiki, too, who had more school matters to tend to due to her being one of the best, most well-rounded students in her year (you didn’t know much of the details).
…it had also begun with you seeing a dog when you were alone with Megumi once. It had these unique markings on its head, with alabaster fur and jaundice-hued eyes. And Megumi then had a panicked look in his eye, asked how and why you could see them as well as whether you’d seen them before, which you suppose caused him to be busier after that, too. Tsumiki and Megumi’s benefactor visited you and your mother the night after, asking to speak with your mother and your mother alone. He paused before you, almost shocked, you supposed, but you couldn’t see through his pitch black sunglasses (he was one weird guy, seriously— pitch black sunglasses? Really?). To which she frowned, as the man uttered that you could be a “window”, but that you could still be able to use “cursed energy”, or something. You’d heard of neither of those, and weren’t able to eavesdrop or discern anything else they’d said.
Then nobody else mentioned the dog anymore.
If you questioned any of them, you’d only be told that the dog was a stray, and that those markings must have been a particularly special birthmark. Yet you knew it was all a lie, but after multiple tries you gave up on wondering.
When you’d first learned you’d be moving yet again, you cried and screamed for your mother to let you stay, and for what felt like hours. After relaying this to Tsumiki, she just put her hand on yours before hugging you— always wise, always kind, always smiling, you can’t say this enough about her. Megumi patted your back before she pulled him in as well, and for once he didn’t shove her hand away. You couldn’t even bother to be confused at that— you just continued to weep as Tsumiki comforted you, whispering, “I can’t promise I’ll always be able to talk to you, but I’ll try my best to keep in touch when I can. And even if we don’t, we’ll always be friends, okay? So we’ll meet again someday, don’t forget that, okay, [Name]?”
A day after that Megumi told you to stay safe. Nearly ordered you to swear you’d stay safe and protected, always. He said that the world was dangerous since it was full of dangerous creatures and people who could kill you at any moment, but as long as you were on an island like the one you were moving to, you’d be fine. You furrowed your brow at that as he held your hand and felt him squeeze it— subconsciously, most likely.
“Well,” Tsumiki starts, a tinge of sadness in her tone, her eyes slightly swollen. Megumi’s expression is unreadable but his fists are balling the fabric of his shirt and his leg is shaking. It makes you want to sob and cling to both of them and you know if you did they wouldn’t ever let go, “I guess this is goodbye, [Name]…”
Before you realise it, tears start pooling in your eyes and soon they’re trickling down your face uncontrollably, just like the day when you’d first met her. “We’ll still be friends, right?” You won’t leave me, right?
“Mhm!” Tsumiki smiles— she was always smiling, always, even when she was about to cry along with you. Her lip was trembling and for a second you swore you could detect that in the ever-stoic Megumi, too. “It’s okay, you don’t have to worry. We’ll be friends forever, so we’ll surely see each other soon enough,” Tsumiki assures you, close to sniffling, “We made a promise to always be friends, right? So you’ll see the two of us again in just a few years’ time no matter what.”
“Okay,” you sniff, “I’ll see the two of you when we’re all grown up, and… and I’ll be taller, too! I promise I’ll visit Tokyo next time!”
“...that’s good,” Megumi says, his leg still shaking discreetly, joining you and Tsumiki’s conversations in a way he’d rarely done.
Tsumiki nods, “Yeah. That sounds really, really good, [Name]. Wait—! Let me give you something. You can call it a gift!”
She takes it off, and her hair unfurls like flowers from bouquets after they’re untied, placing the red-ribbon hair tie securely in your palm.
“Your hair tie?” you ask, “No, it’s okay—!”
“Please, just… just keep it, okay? It’s a gift from Megumi and I to you, [Name]!”
Then you’re in her embrace again as you clutch the hair tie, while after a little hesitation Megumi joins in and you swear you can see their benefactor smiling— not just the smile he had when you first saw him, this one in particular seemed proud, fatherly, the same way your father did when you told him about how you were able to read through a whole book with beginners’ kanji in it.
“You’re my best friends forever,” you whisper to them. It’s the truth and it’s a promise.
The train halts with that chuffing sound all trains produce, and your mother holds the luggage as well as your other hand as you wave to them goodbye.

15-3-2011
The phone continues to vibrate in your hands as you anxiously tap your foot on the ground. You’re sure it’s going to end up sore. Frantically, you press it almost forcefully to your ear when it stops ringing. “Tsumiki, Megumi!”
“[Name]!”
“Are you alright? I saw the footage of the earthquake on the news, are you safe? Were you and Megumi evacuated, are you all safe? Please tell me whether you’re safe—!”
“Megumi, it’s [Name]!— Don’t worry, we’re safe now.”
Relieved, you sigh, “That’s good, that’s good,” you say, “It must’ve been really scary…”
“Mhm— everything started shaking as if we were on some boat in the middle of the sea and the waves started getting wilder, and it was like the ground was rumbling.”
You shiver. “That sounds so scary…— I’m glad you’re safe, though. I don’t know why stuff like that has to happen so quickly sometimes, and so suddenly, too. And it takes so many people along with it. I thought I could’ve lost the two of you.”
“Well, we made a promise,” she tells you, “So don’t worry. —Oh! Megumi wants to talk to you. Here, Megumi.”
“Are you alright?” he inquires, “Have you seen anything scary in the countryside?”
“Huh? Oh, no, I haven’t seen anything. Why?”
“Nothing. Just wanted to know.” Now that sounds like a bold-faced lie.
“Uh-huh, okay.”
-20-5-2011-
“Hello? Is this Tsumiki? I need to ask if she’s alright—”
“Oh, little [Name]?” a man says over the phone— the benefactor, you remember, “So sorry, she’s pretty busy right now… call next time, okay?”
-21-5-2011-
“Hello? This is the Fushiguro house contact, right?”
“Sorry, Tsumiki’s busy at the moment. Me too, actually.”
“Megumi!” you smile, bringing the phone closer to your cheek in excitement, “How is everything?”
“Good, to say the least,” he replies, “We’re just a bit busy. Sorry, but I’ve to hang up soon.”
“Oh, oh-okay! Bye bye, Megumi!”
“Bye.”

“Hi, [Name] speaking. I called twice last month and a few days ago. Are you still busy?”
“A little— well, Tsumiki is,” the voice on the other side says. You know it’s not Tsumiki, not yet at least. “She’s really sorry, [Name].”
“No, no, it’s okay! I don’t want to bother any of you either, so thank you for telling me!”
“Well, if you want I can try to get Tsumiki right now,” the voice offers.
“Really? Thank you so much!”
The pause that ensues after is followed by the fifteen happiest minutes of your life since February this year.
“[Name]? Is that you?”
“Yeah! Hi, Tsumiki!”
She gasps slightly in the way that children do when in awe or when someone finds out they’ll be eating their favourites for lunch. “Hello!”
“How are you?” you ask.
“I’m good! Really busy, though, so I’m really sorry if I can’t call you as often… but everything’s been alright. You?”
“Mm,” you hum, nodding your head even if she can’t see it, “I’m good, too!”
-18-8-2011-
You don’t know when you started heading to the phone and keying in the number, doing everything but ringing it. You’re busy, too— you’ve less time now to ring them up, and the last time you did, Tsumiki still apologised but sounded a little distant, just that one bit too busy to be able to tend to you. One step farther away from you. And Megumi was seldom ever the one by the phone. Still, you could understand why. You supposed they always had something going on that you never understood or never asked about. That would explain the incident with the unusually marked dog. No, they weren’t sketchy, but there was definitely something they must have known about the world that you didn’t.
Now you don’t know if you can even muster the courage to talk to you or write to you. The distance between you has widened exponentially and you hesitate just a bit more every time you hold the phone and press its buttons.
Then the phone rings, and after you hesitate once more, you put it down.

If there’s one thing you remember from about half of your life ago, it’s that your first crush was probably Fushiguro Megumi.
You’re honestly surprised it wasn’t actually his sister. That over Tsumiki and her abundant compassion and beautiful soul, you’d feel your heart leaping and overflowing with warmth because of him instead. Constantly angry, never for once not irascible, always serious and aloof. You’re sure that if you’d met him now instead of back then you’d find him some asshole who you just wouldn’t be able to understand— why’d he always have to seem so angry?
Yet it was a struggle, trying to understand him. It really was. Maybe you didn’t really have to understand anyone, much less Megumi. He never ceased being so serious and easily angered but you could tell from his eyes that he must have not intended to hurt anyone; half of the time you understood him: like when you could see that glint in your eyes that replaced what would have been a ghost of a smile on his lips, the other half of the time you didn’t: like whenever he shoved Tsumiki’s hand off his shoulder, and Tsumiki just continued to smile. Now, that really confused you. You’d thought about that for days before coming to the conclusion that you’d probably never find an answer.
Conversely, Tsumiki was kind and patient. If you’d met her now you’d have fallen in love with her immediately and she probably wouldn’t even notice in that terribly goodhearted, unknowingly innocent way of hers.
In retrospect it should have been more obvious: he scowled at you and if it were anyone else who did so to you back then you would have merely cried and closed in on yourself, yet you never did when it came to him. You just continued to stick to him like those kind of glue residuals left behind after you take a sticker off a table or a price tag from the back cover of a book. You were probably annoying like that. And to some degree you suppose he’d given you his own form of special treatment by letting you do so anyway.
If you’d known what you were feeling back then you probably wouldn’t have admitted anything, anyway. Probably you would’ve kept it all within you, quiet and unnoticed, trying to drown yourself into life’s backdrop like an insect engulfed in resin.
But you’re older now, more mature and slightly more outspoken; you’re going to try to be confident and meet someone, this one person alone who you can only meet now without his sister there just because you used to have a crush on him and—
You don’t think you’d be able to admit anything either. Yet to yourself he’s the first. He always will be, and you’re not sure whether that sounds pathetic, miserable or disgustingly, hopelessly delusional, considering you don’t even want to pursue anything yourself.
It’s going to be Valentine's Day soon and you’re quite sure that most of your school friends are making Valentine’s chocolates for their boyfriends or their crushes. In all truthfulness, you might as well not feel blue about it— you’re 14, that’s still pretty young, you don’t have to rush things like relationships or confessions through and you’ve been told to focus on your studies instead— but the thought that you’re going to be alone is still kind of depressing.

10-4-2015
Dear [Name],
Don’t apologise— it’s partially my fault. I ended up being really busy that year due to something we had to deal with.
But anyway, it’s been so long! I miss you every day as well!
Megumi and I’ve been great, and I hope you’ve been too. It’s been a long four years since we last talked (it’s already 2015, how time flies!), but you still sound the same. It’s like you’ve got better handwriting now, though!
Aside from the fact that I’ve been swarmed with stuff to do (I joined the student council, yay!), junior high has been okay, to say the least— and hey, I’m still pretty tall, you know? Plus, a lot of the teachers say I’m surprisingly tall for my age, heheh. Things are going the same as always. I’ve got accustomed to the loads of homework we have now too. But it’s like Megumi’s been having a problem lately— he’s getting into fights, beating people up, things like that. I wouldn’t call him a delinquent, though: moreso someone who beats the delinquents up instead. I know what he wants to do and why he does it, but I don’t want him to fight other people and get himself or others hurt.
I’ve tried to tell him this before, to be honest. I’ve tried it many times but each time I must sound more annoying to him than the last— I don’t want to force him to do anything, though, and I understand that part of why he does this is because of his own ideals. I just want him to not raise his hand against others. So I have to resort to this.
Sorry for spilling it all on paper like this… I just wanted someone to talk about this to, and I thought you would listen to me, I suppose. Sometimes it’s hard— sometimes I really do feel like his parent instead of his sister and it makes me feel so lonely, really.
Oh dear, what do I do to make him hear me, seriously…
Anyway, I totally get what you mean— I’ve stayed in Tokyo all my life, but I’m sure that if I was uprooted and had to live somewhere else I’d have lots of trouble. Tokyo to me is my home, and my whole life is here. Moving somewhere else would probably shatter it completely, I think.
And please visit when you can! Maybe if your mother allows it, we can come to us instead, one day! And it’s not like we can’t visit you either. Our door’s always open. Once this school year ends, perhaps we could stay with you for a night or two! (If you would have us, of course).
Besides that, I don’t really have much to say. I did have a good day today, though. I went out with some of my friends from school after our classes ended and we ate some donuts. They were so tasty!!! Honestly, whenever you have the time, I really recommend going there with some of your friends after school!!
Regardless, I think this is all I have to say in this letter. I promise I’ll try my utmost best to always set aside time to write to you!!! Get some good rest whenever you can, okay? Miss you always!
Sincerely,
Tsumiki
(P.S.: Do you have an email or a phone number of your own yet? If so, please shoot me an email or give me a call! I can reply more there since I have those now and can use those instead of always relying on our house contact.  You can keep the hair tie, too, by the way! It can be like a memoir (*^▽^*). And it’s for you, after all!)

13-3-2015
You remember seeing a little dog one time back in your hometown when you were around six or seven years old.
It was a tiny little thing, with the fluffiest black fur you’d ever stroked, and though every second it was barking louder than your mother could ever handle, it was adorable and seldom threatened to bite anyone. And it liked you— it never barked at you and let you shower it with pets despite how much it had frightened you initially.
He was irritable but calm, someone who frowned and scolded but never raised his hand against anyone— not even that “benefactor” of his who you’d never heard him talk about without mentioning how much he’d like to punch him someday. You genuinely don’t think he’s ever done so, either. He doesn’t seem like the type: from what you remember, if he were to think he’d hurt someone he knew or evidently cared about— as much as he’d like to deny this, however— he would blame everything on himself, you think. He’d feel the guilt rake through his body and lacerate his skin, piercing through his ribs. Yet he’d keep living, and he wouldn’t tell anyone about it; he’d be so quietly miserable.
That’s what he was like: quietly miserable. There’s a certain sorrow in the way he does things; you could tell this from the start despite how young and inept at articulating yourself you were at that age. But you’d always known and sensed that there was a sadness running through him, coursing through his veins, one that you could feel like heat from the warm blood beneath one’s skin.
Today you wonder if he’s the same, if he still seems like the saddest person you’ve ever met, if he still seems like he would have been the saddest and most doleful had he not always tried to act as if otherwise, living defiantly against it. If he hadn’t always been able to keep living while suffering quietly like a child with nothing but muffled sobs in the desolate corner of an empty classroom.
But at eight you thought maybe you could liken Megumi to a puppy. Or something like that. He certainly reminded you of that all-bark-no-bite puppy from the past. You wondered how it was now, whether it was still being fed and taken care of.
Tsumiki was vastly different, though— the kindest girl you ever knew, with neat, soft hair and the type of handwriting all the girls in her class wanted to have. She was always smiling, always kind— you thought she was immensely wise for a girl around your age; you always wanted to be as amazing of a person as she was: always hardworking, always clever, always kind and forgiving, no matter what.
…you don’t even know why you’re thinking about some kids you met once who you’ll probably never see again. Just two kids who you never kept in touch with. Or at least never tried to. You had their contact— you tried talking to Tsumiki a few times, but for some reason she could only ever reply once or twice (she apologised profusely for not being available any time she picked up as well), and as time passed the way the distance between the two of you grew, by the summer of 2011 you’d begun holding a telephone close to your ear without keying any number in it, as if clinging onto it would provide you with any sort of closure.
You miss them, though: smiley Tsumiki and frowny Megumi.
Leaning back into the mattress, you trace your fingers over the hair tie on your wrist, fingers rubbing against each thread of fabric in its red ribbon.
Could you even talk to them or face them anymore after ceasing contact with them for years, though? Heck, you don’t even know whether they’re alive or not. Would they be angry at you? Disappointed? Feeling as if they’d been wronged or left behind?
Still, you miss them. You really do.
Your mother’s calls bring you downstairs, and you eat until your stomach is full before washing your plate. The only other step in your routine now is to head up and retreat to your room again.
“Come down, [Name], could you?” your mother says, interrupting your trip back up, “I just want to talk to you for a second.”
Now, that… that was a bit strange. Your mother rarely ever asked you to talk to her. You spent enough time with each other as is, doing almost everything else besides being in school or at work in the same house, even if it never meant asking about each others’ day. It just was never part of the conversations you had with each other. You’d ask where she wanted you to throw things or how you could cook something, but she’d never go out of her own way to learn about your own day since you were about nine or ten, and it wasn’t like you ever did either. Perhaps she was trying to make the effort to?
“What is it?”
“You like writing, honey?”
“I mean, I guess so?” you reply hesitantly, “As long as it’s not for school or my grades don’t rely that heavily on a task, writing can be pretty fun.”
“Good, good,” she remarks, nodding her head, “Actually, I recently found something you may be interested in online. You still have your friend and her brother’s house contact, right?” she questioned. Instantly you know which friend she’s referring to and say yes— how could you not, after all? “Ever heard of pen pals, darling?”
Which brings you to where you are now: your mother leaning by the door frame of your room as you’re hunched over the table writing the letter. Surprisingly, she really seemed to care about this, even preparing the prettiest paper you’d ever seen, with pastel pink patterns printed on the paper’s edges, and though you struggled with what to say it first the words have begun spilling out of you despite how late it’s started to get.
You wonder whether she’ll reply. She probably will, though, but a fragile part of yourself surmises that she may not, and although you’d like to talk to her again you fear that because of the time that’s passed things may just not be the same anymore. You wonder if the years have made the three of you infinitely different than your eight and nine year old selves.
But that was growth, right? So you had to grow and learn how to talk to her, learn how to face her without thinking that she’d be angered or frustrated, or anything like that. And even if she did, even if it would hurt you, you’d be able to live. The world would keep spinning and all that would be lost were two friends who you lived without for about four years, ceteris paribus. Who could claim that the seventy or so years after those four would be any different?
That’s why you took the pen and paper and started to write, telling yourself you’d face it and finish the letter no matter what. Even if it was short. Even if it wouldn’t be enough to express four years’ worth of unspoken words, from funny things that had happened in school, or what you thought of whatever was on the news, or how your parents had gotten you a new phone.
As your eyelids gradually grow heavier, you watch how you fill two whole pages in the handwriting you have— you wish it could have been at least a tad bit more similar to Tsumiki’s, who never needed any boxes or lines to write completely straight and uniform for each character as if copying excerpts from finely printed books to the letter.
Soon, you’re reaching the end of the letter, determined to keep the handwriting legible even if you feel like plopping your head on the table and falling asleep— to some degree you still need it to look presentable, after all.
“(P.S.: I still have your hair tie. Do you know if I’ll ever be able to give it back?)”

Jjk headcanons/fan theories/ random thoughts/random facts
I made this in a few months time so its prob repetitive
Tsumiki went into her year and 7 month long coma when megumi was 13-14 years old meaning tsumiki missed her sweet 16 :( (she’s a year older than him)
Toji was a good dad in the end (both times) bc he was already dead and told Gojo to take Megumi as a F u/later fix the alliance’s of the clans and to make sure that Megumi would be protected, fed, housed, and taught sorcery bc toji damn well couldn’t much less protect his kids from curses anyhow.
Noaya (and the men of the Zenin clan) abused Mai and maki bc they’re women (implied SA) noaya hinted at asking to beats em up like he used to (could be implied bc he called them hot & Mai has the same face) but he was also possibly teasing since Mai just 💀 but there’s no way he could have known that
It’s worse to be a male Zenin with no cursed energy bc then you’d be absolutely powerless, useless, worthless, etc. no other clan woman would want you and your fam would never coughed for you much less protect you bc why do they have to you were born a Zenin and yet…
So we know Kokichi Toji Mai n maki all were hit with HR but it was just a double whammy to also be twins? Yes. HR hit Toji so hard bc he was the first to be without cursed energy but then Nanako and Mimiko, bc they’re fraternal twins that that’s possible they’re able to both have CE?
Kenjaku stayed in Iori for so long that his stitches healed I’m guessing he planned it all (or saw hat happened which is why he chose Jin (bc there’s no way that’s random) and killed Jin and went to Geto when it was time (did Ken know about the KFC break up too??)
maki had no CE but still couldn’t get in tune with her full potential is bc Mai was there this the twin HR is f’d but there’s probably more chance one could 💀 the other to become powerful but in this instance it was about sacrifice and distance love. Different paths yet they were “the same person” so that’s only with identical twins?
sukuna loves to eat and is a cannibal and lactates and has 4 arms, 6 mouths or more, 20 fingers, many eyes, 4 legs, 10 toes, 3 heads, hopefully 9ft tall in his monster form….
stg toji had his divorced dad rock on religiously (nickel back fan don’t even start w me, weezer son nickleback dad)
nobara gonna be used in some way theres no reason to have her status as unknown of not to edge us istg I’ll even take a cursed spirit piloting her to mess with Yuuji more and she’s part of sukuna or some even worse group they gotta fight after the culling game arc
after chapter 253 are maki and yuta dead?? Hopefully Yuta was eaten but on Yutas birthday gege thats foul (I love it) 🫣🤩
It’s past ch253 and we’re waiting for 3/24 for the next chapter but I heard yuta yelled at Hakari to shut up with cursed speech? Or was that earlier
Maki Mai and Megumi and Tsumiki met probably around the time tsumiki went into that coma/megs entered jjk no wonder hes so formal//doesn’t know them well he was under gojos protection for so long
some jsckass said mais first love is unknown or megumi are you dumb shes in love with her sister no sister kissed the other to give them a sword cooly and die she literally just wanted to be with her no matter what to go to the ends of the earth it didn’t matter as long n as maki was with her but maki knew Mai’s potential to be better than her so she tried to make herself better, leaving Mai behind in the process and they still never hated each other even after all the time away.
mai likes to take care of cacti/the clan favored her over maki bc she has at least some CE//weve only seen maki being affected by her family's rejection (jjk0 makis mom said shed wished shed never have given birth to her as she was a failure and same girlie but my mom chose any and everyone to compare me to) but Mai either didn’t see herself special in that way and put the blame on maki or dealt with it in her own way (maki vs the fam excluding Mai and Megumi // whereas Mai’s version US against the world)
if choso is yuujis brother and kamo is one of chosos distant family, that would mean Yuuji, Choso, Yuki, Todo, and Kamo are all "Brothers" I love the thought of them being super cool and scary together with their cute yuki & Yuuji golden retrievers in a Doberman family
the same people who ship yuki and choso also ship utahime and gojo or shoko and gojo yall have NO comprehension skills at ALL or cant believe men n women b close like Yuuji & Nobara/Power & Denji/ Sasha & Connie/ Nami & Usopp, Franky, or Luffy)
Kenny planted the first finger by Geto’s twins to Yuuji’s school. they just had to get the finger to the occult club
Does Kenny have a witch or oracle or even premeditative powers to know the future or did he just plan this out to a T and what is his damn goal
Yuuji and Yuta are from the same home town bc gege said it’d be easier for the story but then todo also went to Yuuji’s middle school
Nobara dyes her hair lighter and I wonder how often she talks to Fumi back at home. And her grandmother if she’s like me w low contact
Megumi was alone with gojo for almost 2 years (no tsumiki) no wonder he’s so to himself he was probably always with tsumiki before, who decided everything for them (in a big sis way) and he respected it
Yutas a pos for forgetting how Rika 💀 then trapping her w him bc of how traumatized he was like bruh you also yelled at her the first time u ever yelled at Rika was over another girl and he doesn’t do much else but manipulate like the Pisces man he is (I kin him/made an oc before I found out about his BITCH ass and he got everything word for word but is a dude I’m losing it)
As an astrologer, I must say Gege’s planning with the character birthdays and everything else I can read from that is incredibly accurate I’ll give examples in the next points
geto’s mission was to go to remote village, he finds curse and exorcizes it, finds the twins the next dy, he kills everyone, he goes back to his pants to get supplies and kills them (prob no his first choice but once again was probably proven right) and runs has been gone for way too long and gojo doesn’t know what th ehhell happened. which is why he was so mad at kfc and geto just had to accept his new role while gojo was still in the past
Toji and Megumi (Kamo, Nobara, Todo) being cancer moons meaning they care about the heart, (todo has other placements making it seem a lil more “shallow” when he just wants a “straight” answer (lmao Megumi)
Yuta being a Leo moon and (outwardly asked) liking the chest
Yuuji being a libra moon liking butts all this makes sense (libra moons are indecisive, will weight out all the possibilities and still want the peaceful side unless there’s such chaos there’s no way for that to happen… then we snap)
Yuuji and Junpei would’ve been perfect friends we already saw but they both just didn’t ask for any of this and chose their own paths, they’re almost parallels of each other
Geto’s birthchart shows a lot more of wanting to get humanity to evolve where gojos looks more like a POWERFUL cog in the machine
Yap: Gege basically made this for women I’m sorry boys but why all the beautiful men & perfectly written women & relationships maybe it’s just a rare case where the mangaka actually knows women (or gege is a woman 🤗) & how all the dudes fit a Yaoi archetype & the women,,, they’re perfect & cute & not sexualized (other than maki in jjk0 & the glasses girl in ep 1 getting groped) but everything else is just hot w/o taking ur clothes off kinda energy & thats INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT w everything else going on
You think something broke in Meimei when she said she wanted to be comforted and Gojo was like bruh I was joking 🙃
Kirara and Uranme’s gender is yes 👍🏼
Geto raising the girls as a 17-18yr old is insane same age as Megumi and gojo so for how long was Geto their dad? Inbetween 10 years but when did the girls realize that that wasn’t their dad anymore? I’m guessing Kenny can remember the vessel he takes overs memory or does something to their brain to replace it w him
I doubt a male mangaka can write good women (mostly bc of the stereotype that they’re shut ins but also from just reading/watching with my own eyes and being a woman myself) and add them in correctly, though the thing is in jjk they’re all just in a world but in Naruto and berserk and stuff she’s the add in into /their/ world where they keep fighting bc they miss each other and she gotta be used and a pillar for them or an excuse like Nobara and shoko weren’t used like that by satsug and itafushi they were their own ppl w their own sh like don’t get me wrong vasca and Sakura also were their own people but they really were given the bottom of the barrel sh bc of the dudes decisions. Shoko and Nobara strictly did what they wanted instead of falter to men
They’re literally all kids it doesn’t matter if some are weaker or useless, imagine a god/demon came here rn like the strongest will survive/fight you have to also apply the “weak characters” to irl bc I bet you they’re still stronger than most of us (miwa, Kamo, idk about momo still but she been w them I can’t doubt her skill just cause they had POWERFUL enemies
Gojo not being able to drink makes sense no drugs to impair his power and eyes (maybe lightweight maybe uncontrollable drunk and no one’s really ready or able to control that)
Gojo isn’t coming back and he wouldn’t bc he half assed the fight and now he’s with his love and everyone has to fend for themselves now
I like to think Gojo had Megumi and tsumiki, Geto had Nanako and Mimiko and nanami had Nobara and Yuuji in this preschool/parent AU (tojis gojos ex baby daddy)
All of them are taller than me other than momo and Nobara. (Im 5’4” so gojos 10 years older and a foot taller 🫣)
In one of Geges book covers it has Gojo in the winter w pink camellias and those flowers mean ily even after death and that flower is also specifically for the birthday feb3 (Geto’s) AGAIN WHY I THINK GEGES A WOMAN RAHHHHH
Maki, Mai, Toji, Kamo, Kokichi were all raised w no love like at all. Yuta had it good til 11, Miwa, yuuji and megumi never fully had it good, todo, Toge (?), Panda, momo, and nobara were just chillin.
HOW DID NOBARA COME UP WITH HER TECHNIQUE THEYRE ALL EMO BITCHES SHE WAS LITERALLY 16 FOR 2 MONTHS BEFORE HER FACE BLAST
SHE WAS SO YOUNG HOW DID SHE COME UP WITH HAMMERING NAILS INTO HERSELF WHAT
Uranme and Kirara go by (they/them)
Gojo and Geto were soulmates no matter the relationship
Utahime, Shoko, Momo, Mai and Nobara all like girls
Gojo knew Geto for the short amount of time but thought of him for 5x longer.
Megumi’s been without his sister for 1.5 years so she went into a coma when he was 13, his 2nd-3rd year of junior high)
Mai and maki didn’t know about Toji and Megumi until that year (2018)
Kenjaku planted the first finger at Yuuji’s school by Nanako and Mimiko (they’re the same age) hence why thanking Satsuki for taking care of his son
The person Rika is gone, her cursed spirit is what remains (an embodiment of her love/the curse yuta placed on her)
Yuta is wrong for using Rika and forgetting about his promise and why she’s even there for 6 YEARS then yelling at her about Maki
Shoko started smoking in high school and stopped about 5 years ago, but started again when she heard Geto was alive again.
Sukuna has 6 mouths, 4 arms, 4 legs, many eyes, and lactates.
Choso, Yuuji, Kamo, Todo, and Yuki are all “brothers” by blood or not idc i love their lil weirdo family.
Toji was a good dad, dealt the worst hand, everything going down so the best way to protect his kids is to give them to people who can kill curses and teach them about sorcery.
Nobara and Yuuji have the same friendship as Power and Denji, Nami and Franky/Luffy/Usopp

Megumi Fushiguro x Reader
Fluff💖I got bored
Suggestive Themes
I love sleeping over Megumi's dorm. He keeps it so clean and it always smells so nice when I come over, though honestly it's probably like this all the time. I don't even think he notices but he cleans when he's in a bad mood.. which tends to be a lot. We've had some time to relax though and we spent the weekend laying in bed and watching movies to catch up with Yuji. Megumi says he doesn't care for it but I see how his eyes light up when Yuji or I agree with something he says about a movie we watched. Movies is one thing that me and Yuji have in common and is one thing that makes us friends lol. Megumi is a really laid back person so he doesn't mind just reading a book while I watch whatever I want cuddled up with him on the couch or bed. It's nice quality time for us so I don’t mind either.
Waking up this morning I still feel tired, I reach for my phone. 11:47 I guess I stayed up pretty late, I don't remember falling asleep honestly. My head is resting on Megumi's chest and my right leg is draped over his waist. He's still sleeping so I get some time to stare at his face without getting made fun of. I started off at his long eyelashes then down his nose. I can see how he breathes in and out slowly as his nostrils move with his breath, he looks so peaceful. His lips look so smooth and I feel the need to kiss him grow the longer my eyes linger on them. Eventually my thinking trails off to last night. I wish I hadn't fallen asleep when I did, things were just starting to get interesting. Replaying it in my head...
I remember how he got distracted from his book and put it down to pull my face to his for a kiss. He put so much force in to it that I could tell he wanted my attention for a while, leaving his hand on my face he keeps my face in place as his tongue slides in my mouth exploring what he can like he hasn't before. His other hand is already around my waist pulling me close to him. My hands are squeezing his shirt tighter each time he pulls me closer. I run my hands up to his shoulders then down to the hem, playing with it until he said something.
"Take it off." He whispers while smiling and quickly kisses me again. I grip his shirt and pull it off for him just like he asked smiling back at him. "You're so cute baby.." His voice is so sweet it makes me feel like I'm going to melt. It kills me when I hear him talk softly to other people, sometimes I wish he would only speak to me like that. I giggle at his words and kiss him again while rubbing my hands up and down his chest, I can't get enough. I had planned on catching up on all the hunger games movies, but I'm a little distracted now and this has got a better hold of my attention. Megumi's hands slip down a little further from where they were sitting on my waist to grab a handful of my ass. I smile into the kiss and he bites my lip, I open my eyes quickly at the pain and stop a giggle as I bite his lip back. He pecks my lips just when I pull away, the hand he had on my face is now gripping my hair and pulling my head back to his lips for a deeper kiss. I could kiss him forever. Megumis lips are so soft and he can always press his lips into mine just right to make them start tingling like they are right now. My nails slide down his chest the more he starting to turn me on and I'm worried I might hurt him though I never seem to. I genuinely think he loves when I leave marks on him anyway and that's a good thing because I love it too. I wish he would do it more to be honest.. next thing I remember is getting so tired from the kiss and pulling away with a whine. "What's wrong?" Megumi turns his head to get a better look at my face since I pulled away so suddenly after what he thought was a really enjoyable make out session. I frown as I try to think of a good way to answer. I trace my finger around in circles on his chest as he waits for an answer.
"I'm tired.." He sees my frown and smiles, squeezing my cheeks to try to make me laugh again. "Hey!" I grab his hand and we giggle together. "Can we go to sleep?" I lace my fingers with his.
"Yes." He smiles and pulls our hands higher up his chest. "Goodnight sweetie." He leans down to kiss me again, pulling away not too long after. I get comfortable on his chest and quickly fall asleep with him holding me so tightly.
“Right..” I say to myself as the memory of last night finishes playing in my head. Megumi is such a gentleman, I don’t think I could find another person like him if I tried and I don’t want to. We need to rest as much as we can before this attack from Kenjaku in Shibuya. I’m worried that something bad might happen to one of us and just want to enjoy as much time with Megumi as I can. I smile to myself when I see our hands are still connected from last night. In this moment I feel so warm. Maybe I prefer his dorm room because of his warm bed or maybe it’s just because he's in it. I close my eyes, trying to fall back asleep until Megumi decides to wake me up again later.

Seven Minutes in Heaven • Itadori Version
A/N: probably gonna just alternate between DS & JJK for these lol — as always, all characters are of age in these fics. Typically I describe them as the age they’d be in 2022 lol. Anyways, enjoy :)
Word count: 1.7k
Tumblr media
“Do you come here often?”
Of course he’d start with a cheesy joke. You rolled your eyes, his breath smelt like alcohol. Though you were certain yours smelt just the same. A stuffy little closet left nowhere to hide, even if you were keeping as much distance from each other as possible. “Actually, yeah.” You laughed, even in the dark you could tell he was smiling. “I don’t wanna pressure you or nothin. So if you don’t wanna do anything, just say so.” Itadori was probably the best man you could have gotten locked in a closet with for seven minutes.
“Oh, that’s sweet of you…” the thing is, the alcohol made you feel a little more daring. “I… I was thinking we could just… I dunno… make out?” You wanted to feel his hands on you. One of the star athletes on campus, not only was he handsome, he was also a sweetheart and genuinely caring. He didn’t judge anyone, he never turned someone away. While your majors were different and you didn’t really fancy going to frat parties, you were lucky he was friends with someone like Megumi. He was way more your pace, but he still threw kick ass parties, ones that Itadori attended without fail every time.
You’d been lusting after the pink haired athlete for months now. You weren’t going to pass up an opportunity presented to you by fate. “Oh! Shit I… I’d like that.” He seemed shy, hand reaching up to scratch the back of his head. That was another thing that pulled at your heart, he was unbelievably polite. “So… Can I kiss you, Itadori?” You must have been drunker than you realized, there was no way being locked in a closet with him made you this much more daring. Hell if it was as easy as this? You would have gone for it months ago after a couple of shots. “Y-you can.” He was thankful for the dark or else he was pretty sure you’d see his lips trembling.
Despite your asking, Itadori was the one to close the little distance there was. Less than a step forward and he was right there, your breath mingling even more now that your lips were centimeters apart. Neither of you spoke, instead shaky hands found their home somewhere on the other’s body. You pulled him down to your height, lips ghosting him. You were teasing him, waiting to feel the satisfaction of him leaning in first. It seems Itadori had the same thing in mind, slowly letting it become a game of who would crack first. Honestly… probably not the best mini game to play during seven minutes in Heaven, but neither of you seemed to mind.
You kept his face cupped between your hands, a breathy laugh escaping you. “This is rude.” He breathed out, voice cracking slightly as he waited for you to respond. “Maybe it is… but I think it’s fun.” Your lips ghosted each other again, feathery light and Yuji swore this could kill him. Your lips parted, he was engulfed by the scent of vodka on your lips. He was mentally noting that you preferred stronger drinks, likely because Maki always convinced you to do shots with her. That was the thing Yuji never let on, he knew who you were. Not only were you a frequent guest at the parties Megumi threw, you were good friends with Maki. Another star athlete known on campus.
He was itching to get to know you better. Megumi, however, always refused to introduce the two of you. Something about needing separate friends because Yuji always managed to corrupt them into party animals. Yuji respected that wish up until this very moment. “Fuck… just kiss me please.” He tightened his grip, pulling so you were flush against his body. Even through his clothes you could tell he had rippling muscles, quite the contrast to his innocent face. “Make me…” you weren’t giving up that easily. Yuji’s self control faded completely, your breath was stolen straight from your lungs as his lips finally crashed to yours.
A noise of shock was muffled against his eager tongue. You couldn’t make yourself to tease him more, not when a knock on the door signaled half of the seven minutes had already gone by. “Yuji…” his first name slipped past your lips easily. The groan that left him vibrated your whole frame, his hands seeking purchase on your ass instead. You squealed as he pulled you up, pulling you right to your tiptoes as he slotted his thigh between yours. “We are…” he panted as he pulled away. “Leaving this party… The second time is up.” You nodded, pulling him back greedily. You knew not much could be done for you within the three minute you had left. Yuji on the other hand…
“Let me suck you off…” you whined as your lips left his again. “Please… Yuji I wanna get you off so bad.” He could have cum on the spot, even in the dark he was squeezing his eyes shut in concentration. “I-if you wanna… go ahead.” He didn’t fight back as you settled back on your feet, one hand reaching out to push him away. Yuji’s back hit the opposite wall, hips jutting out a bit to give you easy access. The soft thumb of your knees hitting the ground was the only indication of where you were. “I bet you’re big.” You teased softly, skilled hands undoing his pants while placing chaste kisses to the growing bulge.
“Yeah? I’ll let you judge.” He was confident in what he had down there. He had a good length, but his real pride came with his girth. He couldn’t wait to leave, just so he could get you in his bed. “I bet you’d look so pretty spread nice and wide for me.” He choked out, dirty talk wasn’t his forte but it felt right to say in the moment. “Oh? Fuck I bet I would.” Your breathing halted as you pulled his jeans down to his knees, his cock slapping against his stomach. “Oh… yeah I definitely would.” A soft whine left his lips, barely audible as you pulled him towards your mouth. You gave him slow, languid pumps before spitting into your hand. He was dripping precum but you still wanted him wetter.
“Two minutes!” Maki’s voice boomed as she pounded her fist against the door. “Well, don’t hold back on me, Yuji.” Your lips suctioned to his head, tongue swirling around him slowly. “Oh shit…” his head fell back, hands trembling as he tried to figure out what to do with them. He couldn’t believe how soft your tongue felt, how good your hands felt on him. Sure he’d had a couple of hook ups before, he even had a girlfriend for about a month at one point. None of them felt this good though, there was something about you that simply set his body on fire. You let your jaw relax, pushing your head down an inch or two. Swallowing was difficult but the rewarding noise that followed made it feel worth it.
“Y/n…” now it was your turn to be surprised by the use of your first name. You hummed, sending vibrations straight through him. You bobbed your head now, taking in about half of his length and using your hand to pump the rest of him. The heat in your gut was building, it felt like there was a frenzy of butterflies forming in your gut. You couldn’t wait to feel him inside of you later on. The aching pulse between your thighs would be worth ignoring for the time being. “Y/n…” he drew out for a second time, this time his hands anchored into your hair. He tugged you softly, coaxing you to take more of him.
You let him, jaw relaxing to accommodate more than three quarters of his length. You gagged softly as he pushed you further, embarrassment flooded your cheeks but the noise only made him groan. “Sorry… shit sorry… that was hot though…” a strangled noise slipped past your lips in response. Your head pulled back, allowing a little bit of relief before you pushed yourself back down again. Another bang on the door signalled a minute left. He couldn’t hold back anymore, the tight feeling in his abdomen was driving him insane. “Gonna… ‘m gonna cum.” He gritted out, breath halting in his chest as his release crept closer. You encouraged him by moving a little quicker, pulling back to focus your attention on his head.
Your tongue lapped softly at the sensitive tip, Yuji’s hand tightened in your hair to keep you in place. You loved the feeling, the way his hands were pulling the strands of your hair taut. A moan spilled past your lips just as Yuji spilled past yours. You took it eagerly, barely even reacting as his release landed on your tongue. You pulled off of him with a soft pop, swallowing the contents before standing. “We’re going right back to your place…” you huffed out, shifting uncomfortably as you felt your panties sticking to you. “Absolutely we are…” you were positive his cheeks were red, a second later Maki was banging on the door. “You got ten seconds to make yourselves look presentable.” A chorus of laughs could be heard alongside the music beyond the closet door.
“Thank you…” Yuji muttered softly as the zipper of his pants went back up. He was already getting hard again at the thought of getting you home. “Any time, lover boy.” It slipped out easily, a smile creeping up your face as you reached for the doorknob. “I’ll meet you out front in five minutes.” The LED party lights flooded the small closet as you winked at him. “Five minutes…” he murmured back before following you out.

CHAPTER SEVEN - TOJI
⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀✧ summary page
Tumblr media
Within the next few minutes, I’ll be dead. I knew this the moment I saw that blue-eyed freak reappear after when I thought I killed him. Fucking sorcerers and their cursed technique bullshit. Maybe I was too confident thinking I would win the second time. I doubted myself at first, but then I calmed down… No.
 I was just too confident.
A world like this wasn’t meant for a monkey like me. I was born into a fucked up family that treated me like shit because I didn’t have any cursed technique. The scar on my lip reminds me of it every day. I got over it, though. I accepted this was my faith. I served my purpose, and it was time for me to go.
Still, I can’t help but wish I made it out alive. That I had a little bit more time.
 “Nah,” I replied, vaguely.
How am I supposed to answer some cliché question like that?
 Any last words?
Why would I tell him that?
Tell him about the thoughts and images that’s in my head.
Tell him that I had a wife who I actually saw some good in me. Good enough to get pregnant and raise a kid together. Tch, me? Toji Fushiguro? A husband and father? I never thought I would live to see the day. And of course, it didn’t last long.
My wife died because of an incurable sickness. I never felt pain before. Not when I’m standing here with half my body blown off. Not when my family tortured me. But the day she died, I felt pain. I didn’t cry. I just felt empty. Felt like I had no reason to be decent anymore. How was I supposed to raise a kid by myself?
She told me I was going to be okay.
 I wasn’t okay.
 I’m a fucked a person.
 A fucked up father.
. . . I was never made to be a fucking dad. Me selling my son to my family is better than what I could’ve done for him. It wouldn’t make any difference if I was or was not in his life because I would never be good enough to be a father. . . A person. . . But I met. . . Her.
In my final moments, I think of my late wife, my son, and—
“Dad!” Megumi’s deafening voice wakes me up. “It’s almost five. We have to go to the store.”
  What the…
 What the fuck was that?
Lately my mind has been clogged with thoughts and what feels like memories I used to have. Could never decipher them, but that dream was probably the clearest I had.
Me being on the verge of death (wouldn’t be the first time), apparently being killed by some blue-eyed fuck. Giving Megumi away to the Zen’in Family? Like fucking hell. I would endure the shit they put me through every day for the rest of my life knowing it would keep my kid safe. I just don’t understand these dreams I’ve been having.
Are they signs? Is my judgment day coming where I would have to atone to my sins? Some bad shit about to happen to me? Megumi? I don’t fucking know.
I don’t care for karma. I don’t care for faith, destiny, or any of that manifestation bullshit. But I do believe in purpose, and sometimes I feel like I don’t have any. That there isn’t any.
I’m a dad. For what? To fail my son. I was a husband, had my flaws but shit, I tried. And for what? To lose her only after being parents together for eight years? It was unexpected. Nature calling, and at the moment, I never hated whatever fucking god above so much because they took her away from me.
 From me and Megumi.
 Please take care of Megumi.
It’s like I can hear her lecturing me about all the times I had our kid eating take out or having him walk home alone from school.
Take care of Megumi. . . Yeah, I’m trying.
 I have to do better.
 I need to.
The little purpose I have is left for him.
“If you can’t go anymore, can you at least give me the money so I can go by my-”
“No,” I interrupted, clearing my throat. “No, let’s go. Sorry, kid. Your old man was dozing off.”
Tumblr media
Here’s another thing about being a parent. Being around other parents who force small talk while their kids go off and buy shit. Because we’re parents, that means we have to share funny stories and randomly show baby photos to people you don’t even fucking know. Why? I don’t know, but I bet the mom next to me that has been talking my ears out for the past fifteen minutes could tell you.
Having Megumi as my kid means he’s going to have most, if not some, of my traits. One of them being how much of a loner I am that appreciates his space. After my failed attempt to walk around with the kid to maybe have some father-son bonding, I figured I just stand at a comfortable distance and let him do his own thing.
No pressure. I’m on his time. Not the other way around.
Still, me standing alone was not a fucking invitation to talk to me.
I respect women. I do, but I’m two seconds away from telling her to fuck off in the nicest way possible.
Though, I have a reason why she approached me to begin with.
How she’s invading my space, trying her hardest for me to look at her tits. The extra pout she gives her lips while talking to me. How she’s still asking me one off questions, despite my vague one word answers.
She’s looking to get fucked, but she’s just too shy to say it.
Attractive for most part. Probably five-foot-ten, maybe in her late thirties. Strong perfume. Hair drops right below her jaw.
 Hm, not my type.
 “So, here’s another photo-”
“Sorry, why are you showing me these again?” I abruptly asked.
“I—” she stumbles over her words, pushing her hair back while giving me a timid smile.
“Seems like you had other reasons.”
 “Like?”
I shrug. “To get fucked.” I can tell that my brute honesty throws her off a bit, but she gathers herself.
 “Are you offering?”
 “No.”
She’s probably taken back by my response. I wouldn’t know because I casually walked away to the next aisle.
Back in Tokyo, I gained attention, but in America? The women here look at me like I’m a fucking piece of meat. Not that I don’t mind, but shit.
What would help if they didn’t waste both our time with trivial chit chat and just cut straight to the chase.
 Anyways.
Told the kid I’ll be walking around the store if he needs me, and of course he replies with whatever . Like I should be surprised.
 He’s my son, after all.
Pretty packed for a Tuesday night at the store. Guess all the parents are out buying their kids shit, too. While Megumi is getting his supplies together, figured I could go to the meat section to make dinner tonight. Probably hot pot for the kid and offal for me.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m doing this parenting shit right. You know, letting Megumi be by himself to buy things while I roam around. Probably not because I see families throughout the store and they look happy, for the most part.
The look on their faces, the light conversations they’re having about who knows what. . . I can tell this is going to be one of those fucking nights for me.
Remember there was a point in my life where I was content with the small family I created. My wife. Megumi. Living in the shittiest apartment building back in Tokyo and barely making ends meet.
I came from a wealthy family. One of the wealthiest in Japan. I was supposed to be a silver spooned brat that was grateful to be born into money, only later to be beaten and emotionally abused, which eventually left me in the streets.
And you know after all the shit those Zen’in fucks put me through regardless of the amount of money I had access to, I’d always choose what I had with my wife and my strained relationship with Megumi.
But of course, any good that happens to me is only temporary. Can only imagine how long I have left with Megumi until he turns eighteen and moves far away from me if he decides to go to college.
Is it wrong for me to wish my kid would cut me some slack? Probably, but that’s not something I would ever ask him. Though, I can fucking admit that it stings how he addresses me has changed over time.
Daddy to Papa, now to Dad. Soon he’ll start being formal and shit by calling me father or even my first name. I guess I should be grateful he’s calling me anything at all.
Damn, if I liked alcohol, I would’ve said I need a drink right now. Maybe a few. Being in family settings makes me feel the emotion I hate feeling the most. Vulnerability .
It makes me feel weak, like I’m pitying myself. I don’t care for pity. I don't care to say I didn’t deserve to experience trauma. It happened. There’s shit I can do about it. No point for me to keep thinking about it.
It’s just hard when your son doesn’t even want to be seen with you in public to go school supply shopping.
I need to clear my head.
Already worked out twice today, and clearly that’s not working. Maybe some pussy. It’s been a while since I last had sex. Maybe I need…
 Y/N .
Here I am again thinking about her at the most random fucking times. I said I need her. Would I ever tell her that?  Most likely not.
How can I tell a woman that I don’t know that I need her? To be around her and have her bubbly personality overshadow my grumpiness. To stare at her in dead silence and think how fucking pretty she is. How good she smells. How can I tell Y/N that?
 She’s good company.
 That’s all she is…
Soon she’ll see I’m no good.
Tumblr media
“Miss L /N told me you’ve been doing good in class, kid.”
Been home with Megumi for about two hours now. School shopping is not fucking cheap, to say the least. My job pays well, but the cost of shit in America is still something I’m trying to adjust to, especially in comparison to Japan.
Megumi is the only reason why I haven’t gotten broke yet.
 “Yeah,” he responds flatly.
I stuff my mouth with a piece of meat. “Want to talk about it?”
 “Not really.”
 “Alright.”
 There goes that loud silence.
I continue, trying to keep conversation. “Food's good?” He nods. “Think you got everything you needed for school?”
“Yes, Dad.” Annoyance fills his voice, making it very clear that I’m bothering him.
 “Everything’s okay?” I asked.
“Can’t we just eat in silence? Why are you forcing conversation?”
 Oh.
 “Sorry, kid. Just trying-”
Megumi pushes back his chair, standing up with his plate in his hand. “I’m going to my room. Thanks for dinner.”
What the fuck am I doing wrong?
I talk, he’s annoyed with me. I don’t talk, I feel like he’s being neglected again. Not sure if I’m giving Megumi too much space or just enough space, but it’s kind of fucking hard when I don’t how he feels.
When you come from an abusive family that doesn't know how to give or receive love, it passes onto you and potentially it’ll pass onto your child.
That’s what I’m trying to prevent.
I was scared as shit when my wife first told me she was pregnant. I mean, how the fuck was I supposed to be a dad? I don't know what it feels like to have one. But I knew I was going to be okay if I had her by my side.
  I’m a fucked up person. . . A fucked up father.
“Fuck, I need to take a walk,” I say to myself.
I get up to put the leftovers in the oven so I can finish later. Before I walk out the door, I tell Megumi I’m stepping out for a while and guess what he says?
 Whatever.
  Patience, Fushiguro. Patience.
Be kind to yourself, Toji . That’s what Y/N told me the other day. I have messaged or contacted her at all since I got her number yesterday. Maybe I need to talk to her… see her… just for a little bit.

discussion question #3 — the more we see toji and megumi's relationship, struggles are shown between them. more so, on toji's part. do you think he should continue making small talk or allow megumi to come around whenever he's ready? looks like toji is afraid to let that happen because he doesn't want megumi to feel neglected. thoughts?

Spooky, I'm so tired of seeing people say that "Megumi has no development/is badly written/sucks", especially on reddit, and now I almost started to cry because you started your last answer-meta about Megumi with "Megumi's actually the most complicated and well-written character in the manga", and let me tell you that's a lot coming from someone who writes such great metas!
Then I continue reading and you describe him in the same way that I perceive him but it's also like I'm seeing Megumi for the first time? it's difficult to express this but it always happens to me ... Megumi is so complicated that every time I read an analysis/meta about him this happens and I love it.
Sorry, I'm terrible at expressing myself and everything I wrote might be confusing but I needed to tell you, and also, Thank you for writing and sharing your metas! 🖤
Tumblr media
Thank you for sending the ask, anon! I'm just happy you're a fan of Megumi and enjoy his character as much as I do. My friend @theanimepsychologist did a much better post than I did, explaining why exactly the complexity of Megumi's character is hard to miss. I wish I could just copy paste that whole post here and steal it, but I have some brief thoughts on why Megumi is oftentimes overlooked and it has to do with the fact that his development throughout the entire manga is hidden in the shadows.
I say Megumi's development is hidden in shadows, because in typical shonen manga tradition his character development goes hand in hand with him learning to use the Ten Shadows ability. It's outlined for him twice by both Gojo and Sukuna that Megumi should really be a lot more powerful than he is right now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Megumi is your typical genius kid who everything comes so naturally to him he never learns to study, and therefore when moving up from high school to college begins to fall apart because he didn't learn the skills that would lead to his further development.
If you look at Megumi's situation, he should really be more powerful than he is. Megumi has the ten shadows, which is the strongest technique in the Zen'in, and apparently even capable of defeating a limitless user with the six eyes. Not only that, but he was handpicked and tutored by Gojo Satoru since he was a child, and he's clearly the student that Gojo takes the most interest in teaching.
Gojo and Yuta who have similiar natural talent are already at the level of special class at Megumi's age, and Yuta himself has only been a sorcerer for a year, but Megumi lingers at grade two. Gojo and Megumi himself are frustrated by his own lack of progression and neither of them can understand why.
In typical Gojo fashion, Gojo who only understands the world through the lens of sorcery, just suggests that Megumi get stronger at developing his ten shadows technique and everything else will work out. However, the reason Megumi can't advance isn't because he's not strong enough or not working hard enough, but because he's emotionally weak.
He falls apart mentally rather than physically, and we learn the reason why in his flashbacks to Tsumiki.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Megumi has no emotional reason to want to be a sorcerer, he doesn't even feel an obligation to save people does the way Yuji does, he was just groomed into it by Gojo. However, the loss of Tsumiki at middle school age makes Megumi falter, because the one reason he had for going forward is that he could possibly make Tsumiki safe because doing his job as a sorcerer gave them money to live... but then Tsumiki is out of the picture and Megumi is trapped in a life he doesn't want for no reason.
The difference between Megumi and Gojo that Gojo fails to notice, is that Gojo has an incredibly strong sense of self, and Megumi has no sense of self (which further inhabits his development). He's never once doing things for himself, despite calling himself selfish and espousing a much more selfish philosophy that Yuji does, his goals all focus around providing some kind of service or protection to others.
This is where Megumi's development starts becoming difficult to keep track of, because Megumi is a character who both changes a lot throughout the manga, and doesn't actually change at all. Which is a statement that makes no sense but let me explain: Megumi develops his ten shadows technique and on the outside is developing into a stronger sorcerer, but he never does the internal work and self reflection required to become emotionally strong.
Once again, Gojo in his great genius can only offer this advice to Megumi: Become strong, become a better sorcerer. This is because Gojo misses out that emotional issues are what is holding Megumi back. Megumi's first two major fights in the manga are losses, he's not strong enough to kill the curse on his own in the first chapter so Yuji eats the finger to help, he's not strong enough to stop Sukuna's rampage in Yuji's body, so Yuji dies in front of him.
Tumblr media
It's two situations where Megumi reflects, "If I was strong enough, I would have been able to do X, Y, and Z, therefore it's my fault that this bad thing happened."
So we see Megumi throughout the arcs, continually developing his ten shadows technique to be stronger, while at the same time avoiding personal development. The biggest moment of this is origin of obedience, where he unlocks his partial domain expansion and then a few chapters later just avoids an emotionally difficult conversation with Yuji because he's scared to talk with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Megumi's desire is to feel free and grow into a better version of himself, but he stops at every opportunity to develop emotionally because that's harder. Gojo suggests that Megumi just pursue strength, so Megumi just starts finding himself in violence. Which is why the progression we do see in his character is him getting stronger and better at using his technique, coupled with him being more openly violent and more like his father the shadow of violence who is always chasing after him. This is what turns Megumi into Mr. "I'll totally kill people in the Culling Games if I need to."
Tumblr media
Would Megumi at the beginning of the manga been okay with slaughtering normal people to get points in a game, maybe yes maybe no but he does advocate for just leaving a prisoner to die to curses because they committed a crime once. If anything his development post shibuya is just exaggerating a side to him that was already there. Megumi in times of crisis falls back on violence for survival because that's what Gojo taught him.
Megumi grows more confident with his abilities, he uses them in more creative ways, he even starts demonstrating himself as a leader among the group basically coming up with the strategy for the culling games. He's also more emotionally open with Yuji than he was in the past. There's definite emotional progression.
Beginning of the manga Megumi is lacking in confidence -> Yuji dies in front of him, he realizes his need to get stronger and starts applying himself -> In the Kyoto battle arc despite training with the second years he still falls short in the battle against Hanami -> Gojo reveals to megumi part of the reason he has a mental block against getting stronger is because he's downplaying himself for the sake of others, and afterwards Megumi starts imagining a better version of himself for the first time -> Megumi shows his strength at cooperating in Shibuya, fighting with Yuji, and then later Maki and the rest against Dagon -> Megumi is the one who convinces Yuji to keep fighting showing his emotional development and comes up with the strength for the culling games -> Megumi uses his domain expansion again but much more confidently than he did in origin of obedience.
There's clear progression here on Megumi's part that I can even give a general summary and map out, but at the same time the fundamental problem has not been solved, that Megumi doesn't have a thoroughly developed sense of self and self destructs. Gojo even says as much that part of the reason he's so limited in using his abilities is because he thinks he has Mahoraga to fall back on.
He tries to use Mahoraga in the fight against Sukuna, tries to use it against Todo of all people, tries to use it against the special grade spirit in origin of obedience and this time stops himself (making progress) only to once again default to using Mahoraga in Shibuya when he's cornered. Megumi doesn't try to personally develop himself because he considers his own life worthless and that behavior never stops. It keeps persisting until we get all the way to Sukuna taking over his body, which happened because Megumi ignored every warning from Yuji that Sukuna was planning for something. Because in that case he just assumed Sukuna would kill him and Megumi doesn't care about that because he doesn't value his own life.
Which is where we get the great paradox that is Megumi, he's the most developed character in the manga with a great deal of the manga focused on both his slow progression as a character, but also revealing more parts of his personality that the audience would not notice at first. People who saw Megumi advocate for leaving prisoners behind to die in the first arc of the manga, probably wouldn't assume he'd go so far as killing people in the culling games to get point, because it's quicker that way and he can justify killing bad people, but that's the natural extreme of that behavior to begin with.
We see more and more of Megumi's repressed anger, and his abandonment issues with his sister and his parents, so his character is moving, but we also don't see a lot of progression on those issues because Megumi's not focusing on trying to be a better person just being a better sorcerer.
In typical shonen manga fashion, the focus is put on Megumi getting stronger and learning to develop his technique ore. In atypical shonen manga fashion, Megumi is actually punished by the narrative for only caring about getting stronger. Sukuna's possession of him, and his loss of Tsumiki are both things caused by Megumi being ignorant until the last moment and keeping himself hidden in the shadows too, if he'd valued himself more he'd have steered clear of Sukuna and Yuji because of the danger, if he'd paid more attention to his sister he'd notice Yorozu in his body.
Which is what makes Megumi so unique, but also a little hard to understand because he is in so many ways a typical shonen jump character, and in other ways he's nothing like them because he's just Megumi.

You're cute when you're jealous
Gojo Satoru x Reader
Warnings : This is my first time writing fluff. Anyways I hope you enjoy.
Tumblr media
This was not supposed to go this way. But Gojo Satoru wouldn’t say he minded it though.
After a tiresome mission of fighting of 1st grade curses at a nearby high school, Gojo agreed to treat the trio (after an earful of begging from Itadori and Kugisaki and a cute pout from you of course). But his choice of place, well Megumi isn’t delighted at all as he stands among a crowd of people dancing under neon lights, smoking at the bar and kissing in the bathroom. He wished you would’ve changed Gojo’s mind, however even you weren’t strong enough to say no to the puppy eyes of his. So there they were, underaged, in a bar, with no idea whatsoever of how things worked.
Gojo had pleaded to let him sneak a glance at your outfit, but you said that it was going to take a while for you to get ready so here he was, drink in hand, sitting on a barstool as women threw themselves at him. He tried ignoring her, but she was persistent. Even when he started conversing with itadori, she wouldn’t leave his sight. She wasn’t too pleasing to look at either. The home finally huffed and walked away when she heard Gojo snicker while staring at her. What she didn’t know that Gojo was snickering at the idea of how your reaction would be, if you had been here. And that was the start of his masterplan!
He allowed women to touch him, not too intimately though, because he knew you were bound to walk in any moment now, while Itadori watched with an awestruck expression at how his sensei could attract so many women. Just when a blond girl was trailing her hands down his chest, the whole club quietened. Everyone watched as the sound pf clicking heels got louder. A curious Got looked past the blondie to see you, in the sexiest dress he had ever seen. A cyan dress, tightly fitted to show your accentuated curves, falling right between you thigh. A long v-neckline gave all men a glimpse of your cleavage and made their cocks throb in their pants. To complete the looks you had applied a smoky eye makeup with a bold red lipstick. The long girl watched with envious eyes as you perched yourself down on the seat next to Gojo and said “You like what you see? ;)”
Gojo had no words. He had Never seen you in this form. So did the trio as they stood with their mouths open. The first to recover was Nobara as she said, “Sensei, how do you manage to look stunning in everything? And that dress, Wow. Can we go shopping together one day? Pleaseeee” You smiled a her and said “Of course we can. I’ll pay for your stuff too.” Right as Gojo was about to say something, a hand wrapped around your waist from behind as your breath hitched. The trio gulped in fear when they saw the anger and jealousy radiating off Gojo when the stranger bent down to your ear and said, “Hey baby. I saw you come in. You looked like you want to be fucked by a real man. So let me show you how it’s done.” You looked so uncomfortable that it made Gojo even more angry. When the stranger started moving his hand upward, before you could do anything, a punch landed on his face causing him to stagger back and fall on the floor. “Get your filthy hands off my girlfriend fucker!” Said Gojo in a coming voice, as he wrapped his arms protectively around you.
The guy scrambled off as blood started gushing out of his nose. The first one to break the tension among them was Itadori, who started snickering which turned into full blown laughter, followed by you and the others which led to Gojo pouting and whining about how it was unfair of you to look better than him, causing you guys to laugh even more. Placing a small kiss on Gojo’s lips, you cradled his cheek and said, “Toru…you look handsome too, not much as me but I still love you. Besides, you’re cute when you’re jealous.” And that, was the first time you saw Satoru Gojo blush so hard in his life.
Sooooo
Wrote something after a long ass hiatus finally.
So sorry for the delay :’(

Jujutsu Kaisen Characters + Sad song's.
Pairing: Yuji, Sukuna, Megumi, Gojo, Nanami, Geto, Toji, Choso, Hiromi,Kusakabe
A/n: Spoilers
Tumblr media
I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules
But tell me, does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name?
Somewhere deep inside
You must know I miss you
But what can I say?
Rules must be obeyed
↳Kusakabe
I'd take another chance, take a fall
Take a shot for you
And I need you like a heart needs a beat
But it's nothing new, yeah yeah
I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue
And you say sorry like the angel
Heaven let me think it was you
But I'm afraid
It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late, whoa
↳Geto.
I miss you
Miss you so bad
I don't forget you
Oh, it's so sad
I hope you can hear me
I remember it clearly
The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same, oh-oh
I didn't get around to kiss you
Goodbye on the hand
I wish that I could see you again
I know that I can't
↳Nanami
Until I hit the city limits, 'til I hit the state line
'Til I reach a coast, or a ghost town a thousand miles out
Keep this needle hittin' 90
'Til your memory can't find me anyhow
Keep the pedal down
'Til I see some taillights that don't make me think of you
'Til I'm pulled over on the shoulder by some flashin' blue lights
'Til this heart forgets to break
I don't care if it takes me all night
I'm gonna drive you outta my mind
↳Hiromi
I miss those blue eyes
How you kissed me at night
I miss the way we sleep
Like there's no sunrise
Like the taste of your smile
I miss the way we breathe
But I never told you
What I should have said
No, I never told you
I just held it in
And now I miss everything about you
I can't believe that I still want you
After all the things we've been through
I miss everything about you
Without you, whoa
I see your blue eyes
Every time I close mine
You make it hard to see
Where I belong to when I'm not around you
It's like I'm not with me
↳Gojo
I need a do-over, how did we end up this way?
I'm so confused, lover, did I mistake love and pain?
Ain't got no shine left, I couldn't hide it
I almost lost all my light, and
I didn't choose sober, but my eyes can't look away
I see our true colors, lately, we've been lookin' gray
I can't turn back now, 'cause you'd take me back down
That road that always seems to come right back around
Remember when
We had dreams to fly away?
But that was then
And now our story's just a page
Like a wave, you're always crashin' into me, crashin' into me
And these days are harder than they used to be, and they used to be
No shootin' stars can fix what we aren't, and
What good's a lighthouse when the light is burnin' out?
↳Megumi
I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with my pride, let it fall like rain
From my eyes
Tonight I want to cry
Would it help if I turned a sad song on
"All By Myself" would sure hit me hard now that you're gone
Or maybe unfold some old yellow lost love letters
It's gonna hurt bad before it gets better
But I'll never get over you by hidin' this way
↳Toji
But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away, but they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein that I keep on closing
You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding, keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding, I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding, keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open
Oh yeah
Trying hard not to hear, but they talk so loud
Their piercing sounds fill my ears, try to fill me with doubt
Yet I know that their goal is to keep me from falling, hey, oh
But nothing's greater than the rush that comes with your embrace
And in this world of loneliness, I see your face
Yet everyone around me thinks that I'm going crazy
Maybe, maybe
↳Sukuna.
They took you away on a table
I pace back and forth as you lay still
They pull you in to feel your heartbeat
Can you hear me screaming? Please don't leave me
Hold on, I still want you
Come back, I still need you
Let me take your hand, I'll make it right
I swear to love you all my life
Hold on, I still need you
I don't wanna let go
I know I'm not that strong
I just wanna hear you
Saying, "Baby, let's go home"
Let's go home
Yeah, I just wanna take you home
↳Choso
This is the place where I sit
This is the part where I love you too much
This is as hard as it gets
'Cause I'm getting tired of pretending I'm tough
I'm here if you want me
I'm yours, you can hold me
I'm empty and achin'
And tumblin' and breakin'
'Cause you don't see me
And you don't need me
And you don't love me
The way I wish you would
The way I know you could
I dream a world where you understand
That I dream a million sleepless nights
Well I dream a fire when you're touching my hand
But it twists into smoke when I turn on the lights
I'm speechless and faded,It's too complicated
Is this how the book ends,Nothing but good friends?
↳Yuji

Itafushijun time travel au idea that I probably won't write because time travel is a tempting but fickle mistress.
Side Megumi
Takes place in the most current arc of the manga where Sukuna is possessing Megumi. However, our heroes ultimately fail to save him (because surely they will save him in canon. *surely*) and Megumi's soul fades away completely/and Yuji is ultimately killed with a look of heartbreak and regret that Megumi sees before he disappears. However, as he disappears, he finds himself thinking, "I wish I wasn't so weak that I could have kept him out of harm's way... I wish that he didn't have to die so full of regrets..." (or something along those lines).
Read more because this got kind of long.
Fushiguro disappears... and then wakes up a few days before he meets Yuji for the first time, when he's about to set off for Yuji's hometown to retrieve Sukuna's finger, with no memory or clue about how this could have happened. However, he feels it deep in his soul that all of that wasn't just a horrible dream, and he sets out with the intention of stopping Yuji from eating Sukuna's finger in the first place.
Because nothing ever goes right in the first loop, Fushiguro fails in this attempt, and because he doesn't know how to reset the loop yet(or if it even can be reset), he has no choice but to continue on and try to minimize the harm done. Maybe he could still accomplish his goal of stopping Yuji from dying with regrets.
Nothing goes the way he wants, and skipping forward a bit, just like in the original timeline, Yuji "dies" at the detention center. However, Megumi decides that he's not going to sit around practicing for the Goodwill Event like last time. He confronts Gojo about knowing that Yuji is actually alive, and demands to be let into the fold.
So now Megumi is able to see Yuji and be with him during his training arc, which is all well and good until we arrive at the movie theatre murder that Mahito committed. Fushiguro also is there to help investigate, and examines the crime scene early on.
But... something is wrong... something is different that has no reason to be different.
This time there is only one victim, who reportedly ran forward in a panic suddenly and then died.
This isn't what Megumi remembered Yuji telling him.
Junpei Yoshino isn't supposed to be the one that died in the theatre.
Suspicions as to why this is immediately form in Megumi's mind, but he still has no way to prove it so he continues forward.
And then he dies during the Mahito fight.
Side Junpei
This is Junpei's second time waking up a couple months before his impending death. The first time it had happened, he had wanted to assume that it had all been one awful dream. After all, he's just a normal kid. Curses? A horrible nightmare where he had died tragically?
A boy that had actually been nice to him? A friend? No way.
So Junpei continues on like normal and dismisses the dream for a while, ignoring the bad feeling he gets when things from his dream happen just like they do in real life.
Until he goes to the movies that one fateful day. Mahito appears, and Junpei realizes in a panic that it wasn't a dream at all. It was real.
He's not sure what suddenly possesses him to do so. Maybe the thought that if Mahito is real, than Yuji would also be real. Maybe the thought that he could change things for the better and be the good person Yuji thought he was, but he finds himself running forward, trying to save his bullies.
However, he's panicking after the realization that his nightmare all those months ago had been real. He messes up. Slips. And Mahito kills him instead.
Junpei wakes up again, knowing it's all real, and unsure what to do. He skirts around his distress when his mom asks, and tries to think of solutions out of this for a couple hours... When there's a knock at the door. His mother opens it to find a spiky haired boy with a uniform that Junpei immediately recognizes.
Megumi and Junpei approach each other with caution and trepidation, though Junpei reassures his mother that this boy is just a friend as they go to talk outside. He wonders if Megumi somehow knows about what he did in the past (future?) and is here to arrest him. Megumi is trying to figure out if Junpei knows about the loop like he had begun to suspect.
Eventually, after a lot of suspicious side eyes and poking at each other, the truth comes out. Megumi also sheds some light on the future, about how Yuji will die and Sukuna will be free to do whatever he wants.
Junpei is the only other person that Megumi knows of who is aware of this loop, for what reason he doesn't know.(the meta answer is shipping. The in story answer I don't know yet.) Since they both care about Yuji deeply, and share this strange fate, they decide to team up to save Yuji. With that, Megumi says that they need to hurry if they want to even attempt to try stopping Yuji from swallowing the first finger.
And that's all the story details I had that are concrete. There are a couple other twists later that I thought of that I'm not including here, and also some other themes and time loop consequences. Basically just, Megumi having a lot of complicated feelings about Gojo and Tsumiki. But the basic premise is Megumi and Junpei trying to save Yuji because they both love him while also falling for each other in the process because they both share this very unique experience.
Time travel is a confusing and fickle mistress as I said. One problem I had is that the time span between the beginning of the manga and where we are now is too long. So like, if they have to reset near the end and go all the way back, that would be... kind of a pain to write. And also my ideal ending would be a happy one where eventually they succeed, but thematically I think something bittersweet would make the most sense. So instead I'm writing the idea out here and moving onto other ideas. I guess if anyone has any ideas on how to make the idea work, I'm open to suggestions.

Takaba, Higuruma, or Kashimo for the character ask!
Sorry this took a while, but here we go!
Takaba
favourite thing about them
I like that he's generally a good person, but also a bit morbid you could say. He doesn't want to kill or draw blood, but he's entirely fine with someone he likes doing it and doesn't shy away from getting violent if he needs to. Like kicking Hazenoki around or running Kenjaku over with a car or jet-ski is fine as long as there's not too much damage or blood. He was for example also in favour of killing the American soldiers because they could become a danger to them. He's also quick to forgive people for attacking him like in Hazenoki's case and with Kenjaku, where he tried to become friends with them. I love his overactive imagination, which makes his cursed technique so incredibly effective and gave us one of the best fights in the series (amplified by him having someone who played into his fantasies and sense of humour and expanded on it). I also really like his backstory. It's very realistic and something many people can emphasize with, I think. Also I like how he actually had serious problems with getting along with people and could get quite rough with them, it's very different from how we first get to know him. Gives him a more multi-layered personality. I hope he'll manage to improve his comedy carrier once all of this is over. Although I wonder how he will find a new partner and how losing the last good one he had will affect him, since he has already lost so many before.
least favourite thing about them
Don't really have any. I didn't pay much attention to him initially, although his introduction and the haunting look he had there always fascinated me, but I never really disliked him.
favourite line
"Marry me and be my Wi-fi!" (such a unique translation that even Japanese fans picked up on it and love it)
"Until when? Until I've done everything I think is interesting/funny."
"I had more and more friends, but could I ever find a partner?"
"I was trying to protect myself, so I just went with the interpretation that gave me the easy way out. I stopped confronting the idea of being a real comedian. I don't know when it happened, but I stopped taking comedy seriously. Because I didn't want to hurt myself any more."
"I will make you laugh so hard, you puke up your guts! That's my brand of comedy!"
brOTP
Hazenoki. I love how he saw Hazenoki through around his body parts and his attempted murder and was like "friend-shaped!" "we should team up!". He was even upset at seeing his corpse (although he got over that quite fast and certainly didn't blame Kenjaku for it). I wish they would've hung out together a bit more and that we saw more of them in the Culling Game and building some reluctant friendship. Hazenoki just lost a friend as well, Takaba could've given him some much needed company.
OTP
Pinchan! Actually quite similar to how Hazenoki and Takaba started out, except that Kenjaku and Takaba actually hit it off. Just like with Hazenoki, Takaba gets attacked, defends himself and then nags that person into going along with what he wants and building a reluctant bond. That other person just lost a friend and is feeling a bit aimless at the moment and is looking for company. Both of them end up losing their head in the end, leaving Takaba to find it. Except it went much better with Kenjaku, they actually formed a real bond and Kenjaku let themselves get swept along by Takaba, he actually managed to get through to them and found the partner he'd been looking for. Merely, the end is the same. But at least Takaba managed to leave a lasting impression on Kenjaku.
nOTP
Takaba/Megumi
random headcanon
He's quite involved in the queer community and has experience with drag. Contrary to his idol Centerman he doesn't tug, but I'm sure he could if he wanted to and he's no stranger to dresses and makeup.
unpopular opinion
I don't think he's stupid or an airhead who's entirely removed from reality. His backstory and life right up until the Culling Game show that, he just likes to overplay it because he wants people to like him and in experience that worked best when he played the fool. However, he's much more relaxed when he's allowed to take on the role of a straightman and let his true personality shine. Also, I hope he doesn't stick around much with the main group. Most of them don't really see him for who he is, take him seriously and see him more as a distraction who can sometimes be helpful/useful to them. Yuuji and maybe Hana are the exception, but the rest don't really care about him and for the most part just think he's weird and want nothing to do with him. He can find better people than that. Go back to Ken-san for example and start over.
Also he's hot.

Higuruma
favourite thing about them
His bond with Yuuji and all the self-hatred and self-realization that comes with it. Yuuji makes him confront the parts of him he hates and also embrace his best qualities. Might be macabre, but I like them bonding over their guilt and suicidality. Besides that, I like that he isn't a born sorcerer and you can tell by his body and the way he fights. He's still quite athletic for your average lawyer, but he's not that physically strong, makes up a lot of it with cursed energy, he doesn't have as much stamina and relies more on his weapons and domain to avoid long fights. I'm so glad Gege didn't draw him shirtless and inevitably gave him a six pack that way.
least favourite thing about them
Don't really have anything I dislike about him. I wish his death had more of an impact though and stayed a bit longer in everyone's consciousness. I know this is the middle of a high-stakes fight, but if you compare it with Choso's death for example, it was brushed past very quickly.
favourite line
"I'm a man who has abandoned and been abandoned by the law. 'd like to be the one to punish myself in the end. It's just like you say. I think I should play my role to its completion and die in this fight."
"I've become someone who can't even look you in the eye anymore."
"I'd likely end up hating myself even more than I do now, if I were to stay by your side."
"All people are flawed and hideous. But at that time, at least until then, I believed this impurity that's not present in other organisms is something that should be cherished."
brOTP
Yuuji, for the reasons listed in "favourite thing".
OTP
I don't really have one for him. I generally don't really ship him.
nOTP
Again, haven't really seen a ship with him I don't like.
random headcanon
He doesn't eat very healthy, mostly instant food like ramen that's easy to eat while he's working. Or maybe he buys a bento at a street corner, but nothing that would be all that sufficient on it's own. And he tends to eat the same food or buy the same type of bento out of habit and doesn't think much about variety or nutrition.
unpopular opinion
I don't think his relationship with Kusakabe was all that deep. Like they're not a NOTP or anything, but I think people overemphasize Kusakabe's one sentence about risking his life.

Kashimo
favourite thing about them
They're a very fun, chaotic antagonist and I really like the two fights we got with them. The one with Hakari was super entertaining and had that type of eccentricity we otherwise only got in Baka Survivor and some of Mahito's fights. Love how gorey Kashimo is when fighting. Just ripping chunks out of Hakari, skinning his face, dismembering Panda, the battlefield we see in the past...that was some good fucking gore. Currently, we also get a lot of blood with people losing some body parts, bleeding all over the floor or Yuuji clawing into Sukuna's chest, but it doesn't quite measure up to what Kashimo brought to the table. It's not as viscous, you don't really see bones and intestines. They were also really innovative and surprisingly adaptive to such a modern technique as Hakari's. That battle had some good tactics. In my opinion their fight with Sukuna was also one of the best he had since switching vessels. It wasn't as technically impressive as Hakari's, but it gave us some very interesting lore about the Heian era and I think Kashimo's approach to the whole love topic was the most interesting because it felt more like an actual conversation where both parties listened to each other. They didn't end up agreeing, but the afterlife scene was really nice.
least favourite thing about them
Hm, they're not a very deep character, but I don't really mind that. Works well for them and I think their final fight also wasn't too short. Maybe half a chapter more would've been nice, but I think the pacing was good and I didn't feel like I was missing anything major. Better than unnecessarily dragging out fights...like the one that came right before... So yeah, nothing really to complain.
favourite line
"So if I can get out of this in 4 minutes and 11 seconds, I win. But that's what a small fry would think. Turn up the music and prepare your living funeral!"
brOTP
Hakari and to a degree also Kirara. They should've adopted Kashimo like a feral cat. It only makes sense. Hakari really knows how to bond with genderqueer people. There must be something about him that's like catnip to them. But I can understand it. Him and Kashimo had a lot of fun and fighting someone who is basically indestructible is basically Kashimo's dream scenario right after dying to Sukuna. Wish they would've learned something Hakari and Kirara's mindset, saw that there are actually people they could bond with right under their nose and that their loneliness is entirely self-imposed. They could've really spiced up the fight club. But alas.
OTP
Kenjaku. I like Kenjaku constantly showing up throughout their life and trying to wind them down to sell their soul to them. Like Mephistopheles and Faust. And the choice of their body when we see them together was no coincidence either I assume. Someone who's weak, so Kashimo would have no interest in fighting them, but young and seemingly healthy, showing Kashimo what they've lost and what they could gain back by making a deal with them. Also, they just look hot together.
I like Kashimo/Sukuna too, although more as fuckbuddies, I don't see them becoming anything more than that or either of them having interest in a long-term relationship. Kashimo's more emotionally invested, but I think with all that baggage about loneliness and love they'd have more interest in keeping it purely physical. Probably wouldn't know how to approach anything else.
nOTP
Haven't really seen a ship I don't like.
random headcanon
Kashimo seems to like animals, so I like to imagine them feeding stray cats back in the day and having a bunch of them who'd follow them around or show up at certain times to get treats. Maybe even did the same during the Culling Game. Kashimo asked Panda what he was doing there, when believing he was just a regular animal, so they definitely talk to any random animal they pass on the road.
unpopular opinion
Kashimo isn't a man. In Japanese Kashimo never once gets gendered and the official English translation for once is actually very faithful in that regard, so all the assumptions about Kashimo's gender are really only based on what they looked like in the past.
song i associate with them
Clarence Clarity - One Hand Washes The Other Kashimo and Sukuna. I feel the music also fits with Kashimo's electric powers and unstable mind.
