Of course she pauses when they finally get the courage to speak, her entire process halting with her key dangling from the lock. Ah...They doted on her so much. She knew by now that it was their nature to just be concerned over their friend - no matter how close that friendship was - and it truly was a comfort at her low points to have such a caring neighbor. But her heart aches at the offer too. Her thoughts still flooded with self-deprecation, seeing Akira and knowing that, while they cared so much, this was also just business too. It's not their fault, though, even if her annoyance and worry presents itself with quick words and furrowed brows. Oh, she should just tell her mom to help her move apartments, but that wouldn't solve anything. Her mother and Bishop would both reject the idea when she felt so safe in this little complex. And, despite the cloud hanging over her, she'd hate to leave her only other friend...
"...I'm sorry." She says it in a dry laugh, finally giving Akira the time of day and looking them in the eye. This situation always sucks though, forcing a small smile, while not sure what exactly to say to ease the situation. God, she really was so boring and terrible...
"I'll, um...Let me, first -" She doesn't finish before grabbing her keys from her door, putting them back in her purse before taking a step towards Akira. A bit shaky, a bit stiff, yet trying to laugh off nerves with tired, smiling eyes. "...I'd love to try a cup. I feel like my tea selection has gotten a bit same-old, same-old anyways, you know? My hottest take of all time is that Mike is (was) the main character of Stranger Things.
Now, do I think he still is? No. Not really.
TBH I would argue that ALL the OG's are main characters in their own way at this point, with them all getting somewhat similar amounts of screen-time across the board by s4.
But if we're talking about the first two seasons, Finn was indeed credited before both Millie and Noah. The only actors that were credited before him were Winona and David (respectfully).
Just rewatching s1-2, you can see very clearly that Mike is being framed as the main character, with his perspective being favored in big group sequences, with us following him places that we don't really follow others, and for longer periods of time.
What I find interesting, is that even though Noah revealed recently that the Duffer's have been slowly building up/hinting at Will's feelings for Mike since the beginning, it's Mike whose perspective we were usually seeing in all those moments.
In s1, we see Mike looking for Will, with Noah only having like a handful of scenes that entire season. We also get more of a focus on Mike's reactions in comparison to the other party members.
In s2, we see Mike making every effort to support Will all season. It's Mike whose reaching out to Will constantly, calling to see why he's not at school, going by his house, sleeping over for days and staying by his bedside at Hawkins lab. Although Will arguably plays a bigger role in the upside down aspect of the show this season, a large portion of Mike and Will moments focused on Mike's feelings for Will being shared through Mike's POV, and not so much the other way around.
It isn't until s3 that Millie starts being credited before Finn (and respectfully so, as she was arguably bringing in more hype in terms of fandom excitement back in those days, so I do get it). And so we're arguably going from Mike centric (s1), to Will centric (s2), to El centric (s3).
As a result, we also started seeing less of Mike's POV. Though, to be fair there are 10+ new characters joining every season, so EVERYONE is getting less screen-time, every season.
But isn't it so convenient, that when we start getting less insight into Mike's POV, he starts acting strange...? And we don't really get outright answers as to why? Answers that we would probably have if we had Mike's POV as much as we used to?
S3 is when we started getting Will's POV more when it came to him and Mike's relationship. Their dynamic sort of flips between s1-2 vs. s3-4.
Not to say we never get Mike's POV anymore, but when we do, it's hard to discern and so most people overlook it completely on the rare occasion that it does pop up.
Anyways, this whole concept reminded me of the main character shots we got at the end of s4.
These were shots that had multiple characters in the frame, but with only (1) person specifically at the forefront...
YALL KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS???
Arguably, these three main characters storyline's are tied together in a substantial way, and how it all plays out could have been foreshadowed, by the very order and even blocking of these shots.
Think about it.!?!.
Mike was arguably the main character of s1, which means getting his POV at the forefront again would be going back to the shows roots.
Will is arguably the main character of s2, and so blending Mike's arc (ending with Mike hugging Hopper hmmmmmm... Mike accepting his sexuality??) with Will's unreliable narrator arc being resolved (ending with Will and Mike side by side hmmmmmmm... Will getting the boy??), and this combined with Will's connection to the upside down, blending perfectly with his wonder twin, El's storyline (El walking passed Mike and Will.... El dumping his ass again??), with her now at the forefront as the main character, arguably just like in s3, except now she has full autonomy for the first time in the show, she knows her worth, she's accepted herself. And this all coming to a head with those three and everyone in the shows arcs being resolved by the end??

Nightmare Nightmore Highlights.
I'm not gonna recap or analyze the episode too much I just wanna share a few of my favorite things! Not really any spoilers, if you've already seen the leaks of Abbey and her mom floating around then you're all caught up.
Draculaura is throwing a party for the holiday of Nightmore, but I couldn't possibly care less. I'm here for Abbey!
Heath has the same reaction to seeing Abbey for the first time as a lot of us did. in Awe of her beauty. same dude, same.
She towers over everyone! even the boys! I am in love!
Draculaura is like a smurf compared to tall powerful Abbey.
Abbey's eyes aren't purple anymore, they are brown! and so pretty! breaks up the abundance of purple in her hair and outfit I am super into it!
Abbey's hair blend is the colors of the Bi flag and I have no choice but to stan.
Mama Bominable threatening to bring forth a cold harsh merciless winter upon Bloodgoods head if she doesn't produce Abbey is such a mood. I love me a good mama bear.
WHERE IS NIGHTMARE!? why is this messenger dragon hanging out in Bloodgood's office but her horse isn't!? The episode even has nightmare in the title but I see no Nightmare the horse. I don't like it. A headless horse person without their horse is just a zombie... why are you booing me? I'm right!
Draculaura already has her license in this gen? I'm here for it! Also Clawd chose to sit next to her. Also Clawd said "nailed it like a coffin" which was only ever said in G1 by Clawdeen and that makes me happy.
This is the second or third episode where Lagoona inexplicably has flat teeth, the music video for her doll did this too. I'm not exactly a professional animator but I've studied it enough to know that rendering characters off model is a fire-able offense. Fix it Nickelodeon.
Heath encouraging Abbey to use her ice powers telling her she is strong, charismatic and beautiful. ahhhh! my heart!... I've mentioned on here I'm not much of a shipper per-se. But that was a lie, Habbey was one of my OG ships and it brings me such joy to see them again! I needed this since the only Heath we got during G2 was this:

Yeti's in this universe seem to basically be water benders and I am okay with that! Mama Bominable is fuckin pissed! LOL Bye Bloodgood it's been nice knowing you!
Damn, Abbey's dad didn't contribute any genetics to that her at all. Mama Bominables genes were like "this is MY child!" I do love that she has horns and a more pronounced underbite, perhaps Abbey will get these traits as she grows? Or maybe her buns are hiding her horns? IDK but it's fun to imagine! I wonder where they got the idea to give their yeti Horns... HMMMMMMM
it's a mystery, we'll never know.
This isn't even a highlight I'm just taking pictures of Mama Bominabe at this point, I love a strong woman willing to murder the school principle for her daughters safety.
SHE CALLED ABBEY SNOW ANGEL AHHHHHH- I'm sorry I just had to get that out.
The boy is in love! .... And he actually says something really profound. I'm so impressed G3 is giving Heath some depth and not just making him a one note idiot... Don't get me wrong, I liked one note idiot Heath but there was more to him than that.
Heath trying to kiss Abbey on the first day of meeting her is absolutely a G1 call back.
in her intro episode he kissed her hand and his lips froze off.
I love everything about this episode! I love that Abbey is Nepali! it's way more accurate to her Monster type and before some nerd tries to get in the replies and go "Actually Russia occupied Nepal at one point" that's true, they did BUT! the myth of the Yeti originated in 1937, Russia didn't occupy the Himalayas until the 1960's.
This episode is my new favorite! I heard a rumor that we won't get any new Monster High episodes until after the new year, but if they are anything like this? they will be worth the wait!

i answered already about my desire to write a Jokaste POV modern AU, so i'm putting it out there again in the hopes that i'll be brave and write it because hopefully the notion is interesting to someone.
my curse is that i'm constantly like "hey, you could make an AU out of this" lmao okay so some of the Laurent/Damen-centric ideas:
@captaindamianos sold me on a 10 Things I Hate About You/Taming of the Shrew AU that could be soooooo fun, but I have a feeling that someone has written this already?? was that a fever dream i had?
Anastasia-inspired AU, mostly centred around the idea of Damen as a long lost prince and Laurent as a conman
The Apartment (1960) AU, in which Laurent offers his apartment to colleagues to conduct their affairs from, in return for work-related favours and promotions
Academia AU with Damen as a research librarian and Laurent as a PhD candidate (I'm a librarian and I think Damen would be a good one okay)
Another @captaindamianos one that I hope she doesn't mind me mentioning here: art school AU with Laurent as an undergrad painting student and Damen as a MFA sculpture candidate who does life modelling one the side

say what you will about bay april (and trust me, megan fox deserves so much better) at least she's proactive about looking into things and does things without the boys-hell she's the reason they're even alive in the first place, she saved splinter and the turts as a kid
doesn't erase vernon and mikey being constantly horny on main for her or that weird technique they force her to do to get info out of stockman in oots's opening segments but still, give her credit, she's strong-willed and has a sense of justice and tries to do what's right
hmmmmmmm ok. theres a lot to say about bayverse april. and i specifically avoided talking about movie aprils cuz it was going to get repetitive and long (like 1990 april is very similar to 87 and 07 april is basically 03 april)
but with bayverse, you're right, she is the central character in that movie who drives the plot. but thats because of the megan fox of it all, being that shes the biggest star there and also because bay had an obsession with her (to her detriment bad vibes all over the fucking place holy shit leave this woman alone) we're still framing aprils ass in the shot, still being creepy about her, despite the fact this movie is trying to be from her perspective (for more info on that aspect i think you just gotta watch lindsay ellis' "the framing of megan fox" video about transformers, because its the same shit here)
and just because its like 87 april (because this movie is pandering to 87 fans) doesnt mean theyre really add anything or even understand the concept of what makes 87 april good in the first place. like i said in my post about 87 april, what makes her great is that the turtles fall into her story, and that we are centred on the news room politics of it all. the human world the turtles interact with is her life.
(this got kinda long so its under a cut)
in this movie, we change the misogynistic boss burne thompson into: whoopi goldburgs burnadette thompson. which. hm, color and gender blind casting for burne thompson is. a way to do it i guess. (i do know whoopi is in this movie because she wanted to be in a turtles movie, no disrespect there) but it removes that core element of reporter april fighting her shitty boss. in this she's now just a regular reporter working at a normal news station, but also we're still giving her the girly aerobics story. so, who's decided that if her boss is a black woman? thats kind of fundamentally changing the implications of why shes stuck doing that job, its no longer because shes the woman reporter, and is now just because thats what shes been assigned. now its not her fighting sexism, its her just not wanting to do her job. a shitty one, but its no longer because of a sexist work place.
and then her story of being a reporter is she gets FIRED for being a BAD reporter, because shes crazily rambling about turtles to her boss with no real sources. which...87 april didnt do that, her point wasnt to find the turtles, it was to use her job to help them. the turtles are the secret, not the story. for a movie that likes pandering to 87 and nothing else, they missed this concept entirely
(side note that isnt important, when shes rambling to the roommate about them.... this movie panders enough to 87, why is the roommate not just named irma. shes only in that scene. seriously, it should have just been irma.)
and then. the vernon fenwick of it all........ why the fuck. did you do this. why make him the only character who believes her? oh sorry, not even believes her, simply THINKS SHES HOT. SO GOES ALONG WITH IT. i know they wanted to put casey jones in this movie, but then went NOOO that would be SILLY if the guy hanging out with her is casey (we want to save him for the seqeul) so lets make it another reporter. uh vernon. hes from the original! and thus we change vernon from being the rival reporter who hates her because shes a woman whos better at his job than him, into just: her creepy co reporter who has a crush on her. and since he's the co star here, she has to not tell him off for his bad behaviour. maybe he'll even get a date out of it!
(again, if she needed a sidekick, irma is right there, you put the other two here, why not irma)
and the choice to make her a part of the turtles origin story is, in my perspective, very much like my issue with 12 april's destined to be part of the story thing. shes part of this story because her dad created the turtles. yes, she saved the turtles and splinter, but its less of her own choice in the matter, its because she was the daughter of the man who made them. its the opposite of what i think makes her a good character in the franchise, someone who is hunting for a story and gets in too deep, and happens to be near enough by the turtles that they get her out.
like lets compare her to the april closest to her, 1990 april. thats an april who gets into the plot via going hunting for a story on her own. there's some kind of gang up to no good and she wants to get to the bottom of it. she does get to the bottom of it all on her own, she learns via interviewing immigrants that the foot is the organization behind it. shes doing something no one wants her to do, shes going against what her boss, and what cops think she should be doing, and the foot literally try to kill her because SHE is hunting for THEM. she ends up in turtle plot because raphael HAPPENS to be around when the foot find her. its HER story. the foot is after HER. the turtles in that movie end up losing splinter and then fighting the foot BECAUSE april was looking for them. THATS what makes her have agency in the story.
i do think a lot of you guys are missing my point here though (no offence!) so let me try to explain it better.
its not just about if we see april be a self sufficient character who's central to the plot, or even what her personality is like, its whether she exists in a real way outside of the men around her. its if her choices are important to the story. she doesnt need to have saved the turtles, know how to fight, kicked the shredder, or have been right about whatever story is going on. the question is: is she in the story because she did something on her own to get to it? is she a character who matters without the men in her life? can she stand on her own? do you care about her life? what are her aspirations, how is she trying to achieve them?
based on all that, i think 2014 april is in fact the weakest april. they're only making her seem like 1987 april because, and i dont know if ive said this anywhere yet, men who watched 87 when they were kids think shes hot. that is the only value a lot of people have placed on her. thats her legacy to a lot of people. its fucked up, and this movie doesnt do anything to dissuade you from thinking that.
sorry to go off on your ask, but bayverse (specifically the first one) really got no aspect of any tmnt thing correct. not april, not shredder, not splinter, not casey, and not the aspect of how these turtles are even ninja (i think everyone involved shouldn't be allowed to make another piece of media for putting that fucking ninjitsu book in the fucking sewer)

I just finished Life in Reverse AGAIN (it's been a few years) and my love for it keeps growing. I don't think I've ever reached out so big thank you and congratulations on such amazing work. It's so therapeutic to read every time. Many late finals season nights have been made that much better. Love you for it! I'm sure you know it but you're incredible.
Also I've heard rumours (as rumours go but) new phase of marvel might have loki uniting the avengers again and working with them, I know youre quite over it but how would you feel seeing it play out on screen?
awww, thank you, anon! it still does make me very happy that Life in Reverse continues to bring people joy this amount of time on. that was a project and remains I think the longest single work I've actually finished, which is something to be sure. every person who tells me it's meant something to them is a gift.
iiiinteresting. that rumor has me squinting at my screen going "hmmmmmmm" and I'm very torn about it because part of my trouble with the Loki Issue in the MCU was the fact that even though they technically kept him alive, the way they went about doing it stripped away three years of character development that was very important to me in one fell swoop. they can't really give that back, at least not easily. but that is a role I'd be at least...curious to see him play again, and depending on how it was done...

The 100% Official Transformers / Evangelion Crossover That Everyone Forgot About
So, in 2014, Takara Tomy released a crossover called Transformers Mode “Eva”, which was a four part webcomic including the above four illustrations.
Takara Tomy released a special edition Optimus Prime, MP-10 Convoy Mode "Eva", which featured a NERV trailer design and colour scheme.
Convoy EVA: FUCK YEAH
I mean, look at him. Look at how much it rules.
Oh my God, YES.
I love the EVA-style Optimus Prime helm design here; The paint job does a lot to make this feel just right.
It’s subtle in terms of difference from his usual face paint, but the very plain, bold white-on-black eye paint detail does a hell of a lot to give Optimus the correct stylistic vibe.
If you look real close, the eye shape is just sliiiiiightly different, almost negligibly so. The eyes are also very slightly wider across than usual, too. Not by much at all, but it matters!
The stark black and white is classic, and does a lot to “flatten” the way he looks in conjunction with the rest of the repaint, without losing the physical sense of big blocky dimensions which we expect from an Optimus Prime figure-- Thus making it seem like he’s been cel animated, almost.
Including this particular gun is also a great touch; It’s a more robot-retro design that we typically see with Transformers and has a more plausibly realistic army grey-green paint colour with that nice orange pop colour to match the glass tone, which really sells the Evangelion vibe of this Prime without removing it too far from what makes him recognisable as a Transformer!
It’s extremely cool, and it’s a nice effect that has been accomplished with relatively little adjustment to the base figure model!
I can see how some people might consider the colour scheme here to be a bit too close to the purples/greens used for Shattered Glass Optimus, but I do like the brighter pop colours of primary yellow and lime green, along with a slightly brighter purple which makes the orange tint glass/panels pop that much more.
The vibe is pretty solid, all around. Personally, I like it! :)
BUT ANYWAY.
The Plot of the Crossover:
Get ready for this shit. It’s awesome.
(If you aren’t familiar with Evangelion, I’m linking to the relevant info so you can check it out if you want!)
So, Starscream is killed, but his ghost screws around and possesses an Angel.
Holy shit.
The Autobots find out that some nonsense is happening on Earth, so they show up, and find EVA-01. Optimus scans it, and adjusts his size to EVA scale, adopting the new paint job in the process.
This (rightfully) FREAKS EVERYONE THE FUCK OUT.
Optimus says he’s feeling okay, but admits that he actually does sense something different in EVA Mode-- As though he’s “carrying another lifeforce within his body”. HMMMMMMM.
But before this can be investigated further, Angel-scream and Optimus EVA Mode engage in battle, which is picked up by NERV, who then intervene.
Angel-scream doesn’t care and goes straight for Prime again, at which point Wheeljack gets in contact with Misato at NERV.
It turns out they have no other EVAs available, so everything rides on Optimus kicking Angel-scream’s ass.
Unfortunately, nobody is able to assist Optimus, as Angel-scream has a hell of an AT Field, and it’s acting as a defensive barrier.
Misato, realising shit is fucked, directs the battle field (Tokyo-3)’s geometry to shift-- something that Optimus says reminds him of Metroplex. Holy fuck, YES.
This allows for a few other bots, namely Bumblebee, to join the fight and start messing with Angel-scream, who has a hard time trying to target the smaller bots owing to his newly massive size.
As Angel-scream stumbles on the changing terrain, EVA Mode Optimus takes the chance to use his red core energy to charge his Battle Axe and cleave it through Angel-scream’s AT Field until it reaches his core, dispersing him into red liquid.
Yiiiiikes.
After the battle field is cleared, Optimus reverts to his root mode, and NERV starts working on a new trailer for him which can serve as a mobile maintenance/operations centre for his EVA Mode.
Realising that both more Decepticons and more Angels are likely to appear soon, NERV and the Autobots team up and create a joint force on Earth.
Optimus reassures Misato that their goals are the same and that he and the other Autobots are happy to defend Earth against both threats.
However, Misato agrees, but looks at Optimus with anticipation... and fear.
TL;DR: Transformers Evangelion Fucking Rules
Important / interesting things to note:
1) Technically this is region-specific canon, as it is an official crossover as part of the Japanese Transformers lore via Takara Tomy. This story takes place in a universe designated “Primax 514.23 Iota”.
2) Optimus in EVA Mode “senses within himself another lifeform” UHHH THAT’S PRETTY SERIOUS LMAO ????? oh shit!!!
But seriously, since EVAs are essentially techno-organic lifeforms, does this imply that when Optimus engages his EVA Mode, he becomes techno-organic in the same way?
This is so fucking interesting to think about LMAO oh my goddd
3) Similarly, EVAs seem to put Cybertronians on edge in general for reasons none of them can exactly identify or articulate, and clearly if a bot is to take an EVA form as an alt-mode, some suspicious shit starts happening to them.
4) Evidently it is possible for Cybertronian sparks to transfer life energy to an Angel in the event of serious damage or death -- “Possession” is possible across different species-- Since the exact nature of Angels is unknown!!!
5) The story doesn’t specify if EVA-01 was being operated by a pilot directly, or if it was being operated remotely in this story. Optimus scanned EVA-01 on scene in order to generate an EVA alt-mode, and then states he “felt another life inside of him”, but anyone familiar with Evangelion is probably aware that this could have several implications (most of which are potentially horrifying) so hey, that’s a thing!!!!
6) Optimus in EVA Mode is apparently fucking terrifying to all of the other bots, as well as all of the humans. Understandable! Because HOLY FUCK. Especially since being in EVA Mode seems to have some kind of weird effect...!

This story fucking rules and somehow I never see anyone talk about it, possibly because I’m not sure how popular Evangelion is with TF fans in general and of course it was a Japan-only regional thing for the most part, but I figured I’d bring it to attention because it’s a great concept and super interesting to think about!

I know you said that the one night stand was the starting point you kept landing in when it comes to KOBD, but is that the case in “Congratulations”? Or do they have another story there 👀
Hmmmmmmm. I think for that one it’d be different origin, since it was more of a friends to lovers situation in that fic;) (link here if you havent read it:3)
I think I probably come up with a different origin for any fics of them getting together in the fic. Any of them established, well, it probably defaults to the one-night stand.
BUT!!! I uhhh wrote a little origins of how it could happen for "Congratulations", It also this got stupid long so under the cut it goes.
I imagine them meeting somewhere casual, like a bar. Breakdown goes with his crew after work to have a drink and blow off some steam.
Its out of the way, hiding in the lower streets of Delta and opens its doors to all, even if mostly bigger, bulky mechs are the ones coming through. Occasionally you get the random speedster that finds their way in to try something new, occasionally there are med students that looking to get as drunk as they can at the lowest cost possible. Knock Out happens to be both in this case.
Knock Out goes with his fellow peers from university but has little interest in anything they say. Not as soon as his optics land on Breakdown and his inebriated processor can think of nothing else but him. Naturally, he approaches.
It doesn't go as Knock Out pictured. The big mech doesn't swoon over him, doesn't pick him up and carry him out of the bar, doesn't even get flustered when Knock Out purrs into his audials about the night they could have.
Instead, the mech, Breakdown, give him a friendly smile and invites him sit with his group, orders him a cube of energon to settle his overcharged systems, and politely tells him no. Knock Out, drunk and with little shame, pouts but takes what he can get which is all of Breakdown's attention and a nice warm arm draped over his shoulders.
They exchange numbers. Knock Out sends a few inappropriate messages that night until he passes out. And then a very embarrassing apology late the next morning once the helm-ache subsides and the events of the night hit him. Breakdown responds after work with easy forgiveness and they just...keep chatting. Just as friends.
Over the course of weeks, they chat about random shit and meet up for drinks. At some point, Knock Out says he is going to join one of the minor league races and tells Breakdown he has to come. The timing doesn't work out, unfortunately, but Breakdown races home after work to watch the recording.
Soon enough, a pattern arises. Knock Out enters more races and Breakdown does what he can to watch them. Occasionally, opportunities arise where he can...actually be there. In person. But he never goes. The very idea of sitting in the cramped stands, far, far away from the actual track makes him anxious. The idea of everything wrong that can happen and ruin things for Knock Out keep him conveniently too busy to be able to see the races in person.
It's okay though! Knock Out doesn't seem to mind. Then again, Breakdown doesn't really know about the tickets Knock Out reserves for him at the booth, or how mid-race he throws a glance up to find them devastatingly empty. But that's fine. That's okay. Knock Out gets it. He can brush away his own disappointment. Besides, the few times Breakdown invites him over to watch the recording of his race together more than makes up for it.
Even if it is just as friends. Even if that's all Breakdown will ever allow them to be.

No judgement at all I’m simply curious what was your reasoning behind writing a Larissa X Wednesday fic and do you ship them. Hope this doesn’t come off as rude.
hi! what prompted me to write "particular" was a larissa x wednesday fic i stumbled upon completely on accident. i was scrolling through tumblr and saw it, and i was like well let's see what the fuck that's about. i was bored. so i read it and it def had its issues, but the author actually set up a very interesting dynamic between them. and i was like hmmmmmmm. this could work. i am Intrigued.
how i work personally, as a writer, is that i love to be challenged. i felt like in the fandom the same three tropes/fic types were being spun over and over again, and while others are welcome to enjoy that, it simply wasn't tickling my fancy. i tried getting out of that rut by doing kink!week, but i was itching for a new challenge. and after reading the aforementioned fic, i was intrigued. i was like hm. in which circumstances could these two possibly make sense? how do i create those circumstances? and thus the idea was born haha
generally, i am not afraid to explore ideas that are Out There in my fiction. i am primarily interested in a good dynamic between characters. and i felt like wednesday x larissa could, in specific circumstances, have that dynamic. also i don't feel like this idea is particularly Out There lol, i just think this fandom is full of babies and puritans :) people have been aging characters up in fics since forever.
oh and i don't ship them in the show, if that's what you were asking, for obvious reasons which i don't think i need to further explain. i also don't equate larissa to gwendoline necessarily and wednesday to jenna. i see characters as characters. i enjoy imagining larissa looking like gwendoline bc i'm a horny mf lol, but in case you noticed i don't really describe wednesday like jenna ortega. my wednesday in the story has darker skin, for example. i sort of picture her as Wednesday The Character and i'm not really someone who'd get a kick out of imagining gwen and jenna ortega fucking lol. that being said, i know there are ppl who read my story who will, and to that i say, i am not the thought police and internet is a free country, that's none of my business. personally i don't give a shit lol

2. Hmmmmmmm….. I’d say that my favourite thing about Lauriam/Marluxia in canon is just the fact that Lauriam is in KHUX at all. Just OOOOOOOOOOOOOOG, so much tragedy about him because of that. It makes me go feral. Like it adds so many new layers to Marluxia.
Like in COM alone we have the spectre looking like Strelitzia, Ven being so close to him and he doesn’t know it, his death motif most likely being because his sister was murdered, Larxene, his friend, being the only Dandelion the NULs were able to save, the fact that he probably wants Sora’s Keyblade is because of something subconscious because of his past, the fact that he has no memories of his past at all and yet is in charge of CASTLE OBLIVION, where to find is to loose and to loose is to find.
And that’s not even getting into the headcanon possibility that reason he’s being to cruel to Naminé is because her memory powers were unable to help him, which also drives me insane, or anything I haven’t thought of off the top of my head, or in the other games.

25. Ooh boy, my first impression of Marluxia was way back in 2017-2018 so I may be remembering wrong but I’m pretty sure I thought his design was cool. Like I remember him always kinda being around the top in my favourite Organization member ranking, on the same level as say (pre Luxu reveal) Xigbar, Zexion, and Demyx… who were just below the Sea Salt Trio and Larxene (Who makes me laugh whenever she’s on screen, she’s horrible, I love her and I always have lol).
For Lauriam it’s a bit trickier for me to figure out because the YouTubers I watched play through the games didn’t actually play KHUX or have a watch party of the cutscenes, so they instead did a recap of UX (which they also did with Days and Coded, I think it had more to do with what they could play using the collections more than anything against the mobile games, which they seemed to enjoy). Because of this I didn’t really go through the typical, “oooh, did he kill Strelitzia? He is Marluxia’s somebody, who is evil, so…”, it was more so a “oh he’s here, cool! And he has a sister, oooooooooh backstory” I think.

jonno roberts is an actor/comedian who's also friends with rhys. a few months ago he posted an audition tape to vimeo. the role was for a new character in season two named ricky.
the other night david jenkins posted a picture to instagram and tagged numerous cast members from season one, but he ALSO tagged ruibo qian (she's thekingprincess) and madeleine sami. so we're fairly confident they're going to play the lesbian pirates in season two.
jonno, however, was not tagged in david's instagram pic. there could be a million different reasons for that, one of which being he didn't get the part.
so. it's interesting that ruibo posted a video of jonno alongside pics of her coworkers :)))

Hello Lucky! I hope you are having a good day babysitting!
C- i'm gonna say member=character and then surprise and shock No One by saying Leo. Raph may have been my favorite growing up, but i admit that it was because i probably realized i was a little too like Leo for comfort. Bossy, Know It All, My way is the best.... ugh no wonder I had no friends through half of high school. I chilled out A Lot in college which just leads me to believe going away for a year might actually have been a Good Thing for 07 Leo. Coupled with the eldest child mentality following the rules. yeah that's so why I gravitated towards Raph lol. Lot less pressure on Raph.
G - hm.... i usually write start to finish, but sometimes if a scene is giving me trouble i put what happens in [ ] and skip to the next scene. I feel if i skip forward too much then I lose the correct "feeling" and "emotion", especially if I'm building a relationship between two characters. I also hate when things are out of order lol. messes with me.
L - I usually write it out, then rewrite it over to add fluff, post, and then see all the mistakes and typos about a week later lol. If it's a Really Important Scene I might read it several times over just to make sure it's flowing like I want, though
M - hmmmmmmm...... I added a new Enemies to Lovers with Rise Donnie on the backburner (wip list), set around the premise of robot fighting :D, other than that, I think you know about all of them.

SO! Thoughts:
Simon always hits so well whenever he's host - moresidemen, main channel sidemen, he's honestly really good at filling in all those little gaps in conversation and he's quite quick-witted with his jokes, and I think that might be to do with the fact that he loves Stephen Tries and Beta Squad, British-type humour and he's done really well with emulating that type of humour in a way that fits his vibe
Ah, I love seeing Deji in Sidemen videos! He's such a sweetie, looks and acts like a big teddy bear which I love for him. I feel like he's such boyfriend material, like, he's so cutesy and honestly kinda fine, like, why does nobody else SEE THIS SHIT!!! Would be the best hugger, so funny + positive, absolute listener, so real with you... Ugh, need his energy in my life
ANOTHER VIK + HARRY TEAM DUO! These two together give me LIFE! I feel like Harry just loves tryna bond with Vik because whilst Vik is so so so intellectually smart, Harry is so practically smart and that bright sort of person that balances out Vik so well. Like, Vik studies theory and Harry knows how to do it practically, is their duo's vibes.
Also about Harry + Vik - I am (haven't watched the full vid but currently they're dead last) ROOTING for this team to win. They have chemistry, they have effort, I know damn well Harry's a good cook... Idk, this team j gets me smiling most, I wanna see them succeed
Ethan and Tobi duo is more interesting. Generally I think these team/duo works really well together because Ethan's hilarious and Tobi laughs a lot + they j vibe like that and it's fun to see! This vid though, Ethan's more stresso about the cooking aspect bc obvi he wants to win and he's come across (so far) as a little whiney and complaining... Tbh, Ethan's whining does get on my nerves a touch, but in the end I end up sympathising + feeling worse for Ethan bc i know SDMN fans CANNOT empathise w Ethan's stress or shouting or however he reacts and then they bully him? Like, Sidemen fans see one thing they don't like and they just will not shut up about it. We saw this about the colleague's thing, how ppl started hating on Ethan- calling him insensitive and ungrateful for calling the boys "colleagues", as if the fans weren't practically agreeing with him prior when they made their comments of "Sidemen feels overproduced, we prefer the old videos where it's just banter between the boys", like, Hello??????? Dunno if this point made sense but summary: Ethan's complaining mildly pisses me off but I actually feel bad for him instead of annoyed, because I know fans will have a go at him for complaining + take things wayyyyy too serious.
And oh deary dear, JJ and Deji?? I love love love these boys on their own but in a weird way why are they so jarring on a team together? I feel like Ethan and Deji would've worked rly well, maybe Tobi and JJ on a team instead? JJ always acts so unhappy to be with his brother and it kinda reminded me of 2017-2020 beef between Dej and JJ. Like, JJ was just being mean and telling Deji to fuck off, that he's useless... But they're both at the same competency level?? Like, sure, Deji isn't really competence, but JJ is no better (even though apparently his omlettes are delicious). I feel as though JJ always takes place as Sidemen's greatest wally/idiot asw, and having Deji there means that JJ cannot be the biggest oblivious-one there, but he doesn't know how to fit in other than that... And so he takes on the character or the persona of a bully/just being mean to Deji, but (at least in my opinion) it feels really jarring and sort of uncomfortable to watch.
I don't think this is a very popular opinion that I have either- maybe I'm just deeping it, or maybe I'm just projecting my own experience onto others.
Slightly more lighthearted note asw, I thought Kimberly (Special masterchef guest!) looked a lot like Faith which was quite funny lol. Like the American version of Faith :D
Right, very long, very waffle-y...

I’m just going to drop three KOLTC theories down here quick because I’ve had them on my mind forever and I’m hoping with the graphic novel coming out in a few days we’ll also get news on the next book.
Theory 1: The mysterious person mentioned on page 527 of Unlocked who Oralie can’t remember is going to be revealed to be Prentice. We know form Stellarlune that I seems likely that Prentice did end up working with Kenric, on what? Don’t know.
NOTE: I also can’t help but feel like whatever he was doing with Kenric is what got him arrested but that’s more of a blind suspicious dart than a definitive theory.
Theory 2: This is more of a statement than a genuine theory but I think Keefe has already sort of reached the height of his ability. At least when Sophie is enhancing him. On the bottom of page 50 of Stellarlune Lady Gisela says, “I don’t know. Do you think he’ll (Keefe) be able to influence someone’s emotions?” Keefe’s dad replies with, “No Empath can do that.” We’ve seen Sophie Enhance Empaths other than Keefe a few times before (Stina and Oralie mainly) but what Keefe describes (Being able to tap into someone’s emotional center and “guide” there feelings) is never brought up expect with him. You’d think during the whole “Learning to control her enhancing” thing with Oralie in Legacy Oralie would have brought it up, but she doesn’t really seem to notice (or have it.) Leading me to believe that this is a Keefe exclusive thing. Having nothing to do with the strength of the Empath, and more to do with Stellarlune. Which means that the only way Keefe can ever reach his full potential and complete his “legacy” is if Sophie (or some other enhancer but that’s no fun) is at his side. :)
Theory 3: I have had this theory wading around my mind since the night Unlocked came out and I scimmed through the files on all the Intelligent Species. It states in the one about goblins that no goblin has defected to join the Neverseen yet but doing so would, quote on quote, “If they did decide to break their treaty with the elves, it would be disastrous— particularly if any bodyguard turned against there charge.” Hmmmm… hmmm… HMMMMMMM. Now, obviously this is foreshadowing but the two main goblin body guards present in the series (Sandor and Griziel) are so loyal it can’t be them. But not every bodyguard is as loyal as them, particularly when there charge, shall I say, enjoys vanishing and running off? Yes, I am referencing Biana and Woltzer. Now, I can acknowledge that merely having a bad charge who constantly runs off isn’t enough to build that kind of resentment (I mean seriously, look at Sophie and Sandor. Girl has done that a lot.) but, at the bottom of page 498 of Stellarlune (which really just solidified this theory in my mind and left me screaming) when there loosing there collective minds over the dropping of the trolls treaty and they bring up the goblin treaty Woltzer says, “Is this peace? Or forced submission?” AND SANDOR IMMEDIATELY SHUTS HIM UP! *cue the “I am telling you! That mfer— that mfer” meme*. So yes, he is definitely the goblin traitor who will defect first and get a bunch to join him.
All around… seems like the next book is going to be interesting.
