Hi! I'm literally obsessed with Zukka and every time I see your art, I die and resurrect about seven times, cause it's SO GOOD!! 😭

I wanted to ask, what are your most 'unconventional' or odd Zukka headcanons? If you have any 😅

If not, maybe just your favorite ones? Or some original ones? 👀

shuhudhideaiun you’re so sweet thank you and of COURSE I do but like. I also would like to list my favourites and originals bc some of them are so so adorable n fun.

Unconventional

-sokka fidgets. like a lot. but the way he does is by biting his nails so zuko bought him beads and necklaces and just jewellery in general so he could play with that instead of destroying his fingers.

-zuko has like no spacial awareness at all (he’s literally blind in one eye) so sokka always has a hand on his back or arm to make sure he doesn’t crash into anything 😭

-zuko has trouble staying on top of his work and is constantly complaining about needing a clearer schedule so sokka just, invents highlighters and comes to zuko one day like: here you go babe now you can colour code your schedule 😊 and zuko’s like: what the fuck

Favourite

-one by my wonderful friend @motheryves: sokka can sing but pretends to sing badly in front of his friends to annoy them

-another one by my friend @kiki-strike: a long post which you can find if you scroll through my ask tag about zuko’s relationship with his scar and how sokka finds a way to be tender and gentle with him (like, touching it) without freaking him out. (seriously this is such a tender sweet head canon and I still think about it to this day.

-not sure where it came from but the hc that sokka and zuko can’t take showers together because one setting is in the pits of hades and the other is the literal icy tundras.

Original, but less odd

-sokka is a sleep wrestler and at first zuko thinks it’s because he’s just. like that. but after sokka starts talking in his sleep about ‘I need to save them.’ ‘I’m strong enough.’ then zuko’s like: oh. oh his failure complex is on even in his sleep. so next time it happens he wordlessly just pulls sokka close and strokes his hair until he’s still. (it takes Sokka a few weeks to figure out why he’s suddenly sleeping so well.)

-the first time sokka says I love you is when they’re lounging in zuko’s chambers and it’s late there’s dim candlelight and zuko is laughing at something stupid sokka said. so sokka tries to say I love you but gets whacked in the face with a bottle (zuko flails) so when he gets to the sick bay and zuko is tending to his bruise saying shit like ‘I’m so dumb I’m so sorry’ sokka just, blurts it out. (a true display of zuko being authentic zuko, not hiding behind a cold unfeeling mask, but always looking out for others and caring for them. that’s the zuko who sokka loves, so he told him then.)

-the first time zuko says I love you is when sokka is painting, and he comes over to bring him tea and sokka gets startled and just, spills his tea all over himself and his painting and he stands up too quickly to get a towel so he slips on the spilled tea on the floor and now he’s ass first on the ground just laughing, wide and unapologetic and that’s when zuko says it. (a true display of sokka being authentic sokka, not trying to prove his worth or be more of a man or be anything other than himself. that’s the sokka that zuko loves, so he told him then.)

Hello everyone! Back again with another update on the GMMTV Kissing Multiverse.

Results and Discussion

Most Kissing Pairs Per Show

The shows with the most different kissing pairs are:

Warp Effect (15 different pairs)

Friendzone (11 different pairs)

U-Prince (9 different pairs)

The Player and The Jungle (7 different pairs each)

Only Friends (5 different pairs)

Not Me and 3 Will Be Free have 4 each, then Mama Gogo, Moonlight Chicken, P.S. I Hate You, Theory of Love, and Three Gentlebros have 3 different kissing pairs each.

The Power of Jojo

As discovered in the first iteration, Jojo has an outsized impact on the number of kissing pairs.

He directed roughly 13% of all the shows analyzed but his shows contain about 33% of kisses present in the data set. Jojo also directed 4 of the top 6 shows with the most different kissing pairs (and 6 of the top 13).

The median number of "different kissing pairs per show" of a Jojo show is 6.0, compared to a median of only 1.8 "different kissing pairs per show" in non-Jojo shows.

(note: I am just looking at kissing pair iterations here not at unique kissing pairs, e.g., Phuwin/Pond are a pair in two shows (once in a Jojo show and once in a non-Jojo show), so they are counted twice.)

Most Kissing Partners

There has been a shift in the rankings... Welcome Joss to the top!

Top ranked are Joss with 10 different kissing partners, then Lee and Namtan with 9 different kissing partners each, then Ohm and Nanon with 7 each.

Next are Gigie and Singto with 6 kissing partners each, then Bright, Film, First, Fluke Pusit, Jan, Krist, Mild, New, and Off with 5 each. Finally, Drake, Fah, Neo, Plustor, Tay, and Win have 4 each.

The average number of kissing partners per actor is 2.3.

We have four people tied for "Most Kissing Partners in One Show," and they are from only two different shows. A round of applause for Plustor (4 different kissing partners in Friendzone) and for Fluke Pusit, Gigie, and New (each with 4 different kissing partners in Warp Effect)!

Unique vs. Repeat Kissing Pairs

The vast majority of kissing pairs only occur once, in one show. There are 136 "unique" kissing pairs in the data set, with 128 (94%) only appearing once, in one show, and 8 (6%) pairs appearing at least twice.

The 8 pairs that appear in more than one show are:

Book/Force (in A Boss and A Babe, Enchante, and Only Friends)

Bright/Win (in 2gether and Still 2gether)

Dunk/Joong (in Hidden Agenda and Star In My Mind)

Earth/Mix (in A Tale of Thousand Stars, Cupid's Last Wish, and Moonlight Chicken)

Film/Gun (in Not Me and Three Gentlebros)

First/Khaotung (in The Eclipse and Only Friends)

Gun/Off (in Not Me and Theory of Love)

Louis/Neo (in The Eclipse and Fish Upon The Sky)

All these pairs, with the exception of Film/Gun, are BL branded pairs, which says something about the variety of the het GMMTV show world and about the structure of the BL system.

All in all, 99% of mixed gender pairs only appear once, in one show, compared to 88% of same gender pairs.

Same Gender vs. Mixed Gender Kissing Pairs

A change in the data! With all the new kisses we've gotten in, the balance has shifted. Of the 136 "unique" (non-repeated) kissing pairs, 59% are mixed gender pairs and 41% are same gender pairs.

Last time we were at 59% same gender kisses and 41% mixed gender kisses, but our sample includes more het shows now which explains the shift.

I dug into this a little further by looking at how many shows featured both same and mixed gender kissing pairs, and which shows featured only one or the other.

43% of the shows had only same gender kissing pairs, 39% of the shows had only mixed gender kissing pairs, and only 18% of shows featured both. All in all, a fairly even split.

I was curious so I did the math - about 34% of the 112 actors I looked at have only ever kissed someone of the same gender. Of that 34%, roughly 32% have kissed more than one person of the same gender (representing about 11% of the full sample).

And now, some burning questions...

Which of the GMMTV boys has kissed the most guys?

We have a five-way tie for first place: congrats to First, Fluke Pusit, Neo, Plustor, and Singto, with 4 men kissed each!

First kissed Gawin (Not Me), Khaotung (The Eclipse and Only Friends), Mix (Moonlight Chicken), and Ohm (The Shipper)

Fluke Pusit kissed Jay Jatuporn (Warp Effect), New (Warp Effect), Ohm Thipakorn (A Boss and A Babe), and Thor (Warp Effect)

Neo kissed Drake (Only Friends), Force (Only Friends), Louis (Fish Upon The Sky and The Eclipse), and Mark Pakin (Only Friends)

Plustor kissed AJ (Friendzone), Arm (Friendzone), Nat (Friendzone), and Singto (Friendzone) [he was very busy in Friendzone]

Singto kissed Krist (SOTUS), Nat (Friendzone), Ohm (HCTM), and Plustor (Friendzone)

Second place is a five-way tie between Earth, Gawin, Khaotung, Krist, and Ohm who have kissed 3 men each!

There are also 13 men who have kissed two men each: Chimon, Dunk, Force, Gun, Mek, Mix, Nat, New, Papang, Pawin, Phuwin, Pod, and Tay.

*Note: while First and Fluke Pusit appear together in The Shipper, and it gets verrrry close, they do not actually kiss.

Where does Only Friends stand so far?

Only Friends itself is at 5 kissing pairs so far, which is higher than average but only 5th place overall among shows. I believe it can claw its way up easily though (it only needs two more kissing pairs to catch 4th places The Jungle and The Player)!

First has had 5 kissing partners so far which means he's only 2 away from reaching the top 5 Kissers (Joss has 10 kissing partners, Lee and Namtan have 9 each, Nanon and Ohm have 7 each). Neo is at 4 kissing partners, so also within reach of the top if he puts some effort in. Khaotung is at 3 partners, so within reach of the upper echelon but maybe more of a stretch. Force and Mark Pakin are at a respectable 2 partners each so far but Book has only had one kissing partner so he is going to need to kiss a lot to make up some ground. Lookjun is at 2 so she has room to move too.

In terms of gay kisses, First and Neo are already at the top of the leader board with 4 men kissed each, while Khaotung sits in respectable second place with 3 men kissed. All three have a strong chance of moving up the standings (Neo is averaging 1 new kissing partner a week so let's see if that continues). Force has kissed two men so he is not far off either. Mark Pakin and Book have only kissed one man each and thus they are far down the leader board for GMMTV men who have kissed men, but I remain optimistic.

Hello! Thank you, I hope this is enjoyable as well! I went with a more fluffy route this time, I just wanna see Gaz happy and healthy and as far aways from any and all danger as possible! This request was really cute, I love Gaz! I'm glad there are several of us who do! Though I think I went a bit overboard with this, but how could I not when people are requesting best boi!

Celebrating Your Anniversary with Gaz

For the sake of this request, we’re gonna go with the idea that Gaz was able to be with you during your anniversary and didn’t end up being somewhere in the world, having to fight tooth and nail for his survival. We’re gonna go the fluffy route with this!

His memory is really good, Gaz would never forget something as important as your anniversary. Doesn’t matter if you’re together, doesn’t matter if you’re married. He has it memorized, he wrote it down on his phone, he noted it on several loose papers lying around just about anywhere. Trust me when I say he’s the last person to ever forget something like this. Although he would appreciate it if you remembered as well, he’d probably love it even more if, just once, you forgot about your anniversary, that way he could properly surprise and absolutely spoil you rotten. He wants to make your anniversaries days you can remember, so he will tailor them to your liking. You like going to arcades or amusement parks? A bookshop date? You just wanna go to McDonald’s? It’s all yours, and don’t you dare even think about paying, your wallet will not be strained on such a holy and sublime day.

The day would start off simple. You’d sleep in, if you can, cuddling for as long as possible, until one of you needs to get up for whatever reason. He’ll nuzzle into you, holding you as close to him as possible. He wants you to feel his warmth, how alive you make him feel, he wants you to feel how his heart beats for you and only you. Gaz has a beautiful voice, it’s fairly low and very calming to listen to. He’d hum your favorite tune that’s a bit calmer. He wants you to be as relaxed for him as possible, maybe even fall asleep in his arms again, even if he definitely wouldn’t mind you staying up to chat a bit with him as well. He’s gonna be all over you, making sure to touch you wherever he can so you feel secure with him. And when you’re drifting off to sleep again, that’s when his plan begins.

Gaz will plant a kiss on your neck or your forehead, whatever he can reach as he excuses himself to the bathroom. However, this sly dog will actually head for the kitchen to make you some breakfast. He’s a good cook, so whatever it is you like, he’ll make it. French toast? Scrambled eggs? Eggs and bacon? Your wish is his command, even if you never uttered a single order. He just hopes you won’t wake up or, even if you do, will at the very least stay in bed. This breakfast isn’t for you to enjoy in the kitchen or the living room, you’re to eat it in your bed. He even got you a nice tray so he can carry it to you without making a mess. Orange juice and all. You will be spoiled.

It’s then that he’ll wake you with another soft kiss to your temple, maybe shaking you awake a bit, so you can enjoy your breakfast together. Might even feed you a bit, just to be embarrassingly cute while he’s at it. The more content you look, the better. Afterwards, he’ll leave for the kitchen again, putting the tray away and decorating the living room a bit. There will be the most gorgeous roses you’ve ever seen in a vase, alongside several other flowers, each of which tells of a different kind of adoration. And when you finally follow suit and spot the flowers, he’ll just smile and claim that they looked very pretty. If you understand flower language, then you can tell he just really wanted to say he loved you in as many different ways as he could.

It’s then that he’ll ask you to get ready for the day, to brush your teeth and hair, and put on some clothes. You don’t need to look particularly fancy, he wants you to be as comfortable as you could possibly be. This is when he’ll take you to a place you like which, as mentioned before, could be just about anything. Waterpark, roller skate rink or just a lovely walk in the park, he’s open for everything. You will be accommodated accordingly. Those places are where you’ll be spending the majority of your day, grabbing something simple to eat for the time being, such as some fries or maybe some toast at a good cafe or pub.

When day meets night, he’ll take your hand in his, taking you to a fancy restaurant you’ve been to a few times. Preferably one where the both of you can look down at the city and see all the beautiful lights it has to offer. You’ll spend another two hours or so there. At the very least, you’ll be there until it gets dark, eating good food, having a good drink, maybe some wine as well. It doesn’t matter what you choose, all Gaz wants is to see the twinkling city lights dance in your eyes afterwards. When the evening is starting to roll over into night, he’ll take you to a ferris wheel. A big one where you can see the entire city from.

He’ll watch you as you excitedly look everywhere, taking in as many sights as you can, hoping that the ferris wheel stops at just the right time. Ideally, that would be right at the top. But he won’t be too picky if it’s somewhat to the side as well. As long as he gets to see your mouth agape at all the pretty lights, he’s content. While the ferris wheel stops, he’ll shoot his shot. If you’ve been together for a few years but aren’t married yet, he’ll propose to you. If you’re already married, he’ll still get down on one knee, take your hand in his and kiss its back tenderly, like a knight in shining armor. It’s embarrassingly sweet, but he knows no one but you is going to see it, so he does it anyway. You’re royalty in his eyes, you’re his to protect and care for, and he needs to show his loyalty however he can. Once he’s done kissing your hand, he’ll get up, holding your hand still and pulling you up with him, just so he can hold you close once again. Another tender kiss to your lips, and then he’ll get out a small box. Either the proposal ring or, if you’re married already, he’ll gift you a lovely little necklace made of pure silver. Something you can wear that will always remind you of him.

Once you’re down on the ground again, he’ll take your hand in his and lead you home, conversing with you about how much he loves you, how happy he is to have you in his life and how he hopes he gets to spend many, many more years like that with you.

If it’s not too late yet, you might watch a movie and cuddle on the couch. But you’ll likely both be tuckered out after today and just snuggle up in bed, ready for the next day.

And this is how Gaz’ ideal anniversary would go.

MARKLAND?! 4 the ship ask

These two are very sweet—I know that it’s kind of The Joke of eftbk that it’s the mundanities of normal characters played against this epic setting where they’re all evil but I kinda... wish they were Worse about everything. I would be more into them if they were more complicated or had more space/time together. This pairing is responsible for what is by far my most popular fic on ao3 but there’s a reason I never went back and wrote any more for them—I think this ship is kind of calling out for the sort of modern/coffee shop fluffy au where the conflict is like, a basic miscommunication, and that’s just not what I’m really into writing or reading if that makes sense. Maybe this is a crazy take but because bloodkeep is a shorter season there were times I think more extended character arcs/emotional beats could’ve really drawn me deeper (the gasp when Leiland sees Markus for the first time is so good but I want it to be either Worse or More).

All that being said I love eftbk and Ify is easily one of my top ten cast members d20 has ever had so I still have a lot of fond memories for markland 💖

—1. what drew your character to their love interest and vice versa?

sam was not immune to andie’s general aura of warmth, because who doesn’t wanna be around the physical manifestation of a ray of sunshine fr? andie is generally comfortable to be around and provided a much needed sense of warmth— a feeling that had evaded sam for so long. and even tho andie would never admit it, his silly charm worked on her so she was more than happy to stick around for his sake.

—12. do they have similar goals? if they clash, how do they deal?

andie doesn’t necessarily care abt the artifacts that they hunt so much as the journey to get there. there is so much history to absorb and she gets lost in it, while sam is more goal-oriented. of course, he’s gonna appreciate the craftsmanship and the history but he isn’t gonna spend so much time basking in it as andie would. sometimes he has to give her a gentle nudge to keep going cs “there’s still so much ground to cover, andie” while she’s just climbing a building to see it all before her as god intended. anyway.

—31. share anything you would like about the couple!

andie will not drink a cup of coffee unless sam makes it for her. he gets the sugar to cream to coffee ratio perfect every single time and he did it once for her, just so she could have a cup and hopefully enjoy it. she didn’t really— she is still much more partial to tea but when she needs a little bit extra caffeine she brews a pot of coffee and sam just. knows to make her a cup.

RITE OF THE SANDS

it’s like pulling teeth to get either of these two to openly talk abt any kind of feelings whatsoever. good thing they have literally all of eternity to figure this out cs they will both put it off for as long as possible. most of it isn’t intentional tho, than is goddamn busy with mortals killing each other and celeste is just. thinking abt other things. like weaving the strings of time and evading questions abt the outcome.

—17. their ways of expressing their love.

quality time. than especially doesn’t have much time to spare so whenever he gets a minute, he’ll hang out with celeste in the house. or she will desire a change of scenery lest she drowns herself in the styx, so she’ll hang out at the balcony with than, overlooking the hoards of souls coming through and making idle chit chat. it’s their favorite part of the day. or—night? whenever.

there are three of those little white butterflies that hover around thanatos hovering around celeste when she’s in the house without him. when he’s in the house, they leave her and presumably just. go wherever the others go, but when he leaves they return to her and just. exist in her orbit. a memento, perhaps.

i do!! i think they compliment each other very well— live fast die young bad girls do it well you know. jk but fr panam is such a ride or die and bianca is fun and fresh and they just. have so much fun. bianca is always doing something new and looking for excitement and panam i think likes to be along for the ride so they’re really just best friends that are in a committed relationship. it works 🫶🏻

—31. share anything you would like about the couple!

bianca lets panam fiddle and tinker with her car when she’s bored. panam has literally tricked the fuck out of bianca’s car just for fun— she installed a neon light kit, a spoiler, put a wrap on it, modified everything under the sun.

odette is an artist at her core so she sketches a LOT. like a lot— i’m talking sketchbooks on sketchbooks. she has a few with dress designs, measurements, ideas, etc but a lot of them also have portraits and quick sketches of her friends, her family.

but she also has one sketchbook that’s just. all sketches of smoke. she pulls it out when she misses him while he’s away in earthrealm. sometimes she adds to it, others she just flips through it and ends up falling asleep with it. she’s a little obsessed with him idk

book i absolutely hate? i put down books i can see i won't like pretty quickly so i don't really have a rant locked and loaded for this one. i can go on and on about whole genres as a whole though because i can tell they're just not worth the paper they're printed on. the shelves and shelves of mediocre fifth-grade level fiction being marketed to grown ass adults. everything by joel osteen. [vomits] romance novels

book that first got me interested in reading? i've been reading ever since i can remember but the first 'real' book i can recall reading is the count of monte cristo by alexandre dumas, truly fantastic classic (i'm currently in a reread with the improvised book club right now actually!) i was also a redwall kid growing up of course, and also enjoyed the deptford histories by robin jarvis and gregor the overlander by suzanne collins. lots of anthropomorphic animals killing eachother in gruesome ways for some reason. i will forever be smug about reading suzanne collins before the hunger games got big though and tbh gregor was much better

did i actually read all the books required in school/did i start out that way? i was homeschooled so required reading was mostly public library summer reading programs, but yeah i've mostly always been like that. they couldn't stop me really

tell you about my top (any number i want) favorite books? opening a can of worms here, don't say i didn't warn you. it's no secret i'm a sci-fi guy so top of my list is always blindsight and echopraxia by peter watts. that shit changed me for real. wyrms by orson scott card is another one that, though fiction, contains a lot of very interesting thoughts. (standard 'card is a weird dude' disclaimer here.) i recently read jorge luis borges' short fiction, some very well done and intriguing concepts there. philip k. dick is a long time favorite of mine, the martian time-slip is particularly good as well as his dozens of short stories. and finally i will not shut up about gödel escher bach, i'm still wading through it but it's fantastically written, a lot of fun to read and i can already tell it's going to leave a mark

okay I know it’s technically weeks away BUT valentine’s day has been in my mind and I’m curious how Adam and Belle celebrate 👁️ (did this holiday exist back then? I have no clue)

LOVELY okay so every valentine’s day since i’ve been writing for these two yahoos, i just generally assume they go all out for the day. adam’s love language is gift giving so whether it’s in canon or modern au, you know that guy is getting belle a million gifts and they’re going to fancy dining establishments and seeing a show and all that good stuff. but your question made me want to dig in and actually look into the history of valentine’s day, SO I DID THAT!!

as i suspected, it is super super old. the oldest story is in 270 AD, when the roman empire had been at war for some time. apparently the soldiers were tired of fighting and wanted to marry their sweethearts and settle down with families. but emperor claude ii was like uhhhmmm No. so he made marriage briefly illegal?? but there was a priest called valentine who was still secretly performing weddings, defying the law for love!!! but emperor claude ii found out and threw him in jail. BUT THEN valentine fell in love with the daughter of his prison guard!!! and supposedly, according to the legend, right before his execution, ON FEBRUARY 14th, he left a heart-shaped letter to the daughter and signed it “from your valentine.”

AND THAT IS SOOOOO ROMANTIC HELLO!!!!! defied the law AND died for love. A KING!!

valentine was declared a saint by pope gelase i in the 5th century, after the collapse of the roman empire.

the holiday didn’t become a thing until the middle ages, when the catholic church was trying to fight a pagan holiday for the roman god luperculus that was celebrated feb 13-15. the church was afraid of losing their power amidst europe so the pope made feb 14 st. valentine’s day to honor the guy who sacrificed his life for love.

there is ALSO a story specific to france, that in 1415, the duke of orléans was captured and taken prisoner in london and while he was there he was apparently writing love letters to his wife in france. and i guess there was one (or multiple?) specifically dated for valentine’s day, so it’s considered some of the first Valentine’s Day Letters™️ in france. because before that, in france, letters weren’t really exchanged on the day, it was more a social thing, like a singles mixer in the streets. single people go out and try to pair up. and anyone who is bitter can have a little bonfire and burn images of their exes. but that got out of hand quickly and the government banned that. hence the letter writing became more common.

and this is my own speculation but i would assume that gift giving only took place amongst the upper class at first, and then eventually the trend caught up in varying levels for everyone to the point that we’re at today! where a gift for your beloved on the day is quite common 💝

but anyway there’s your little history lesson!!!!!! was fun to flex my historian muscles thank you 🤓🤓🤓

to answer your question, basically, adam spoils the heck out of his wife and belle lets it happen because she’s as head over heels for her husband as he is for her. in canon they’re probably always in paris. they save their bigger trips for their anniversary and also they just travel a lot in general for king & queen reasons. paris is their home away from home ❤️ they probably stay for nearly a week, (this may vary depending on the ages of their kiddos, of course, they don’t like to leave their Babies for too long 🥺), go to a couple different shows, opera, theater, dance, etc. go for horseback rides, go to a ball (i’m debating if they put on a valentine’s day ball or if they attend one already happening. it’s super likely that adam wants to host it though because he loves hosting. But i could also just see a ball already taking place since it is a Known Holiday. but EITHER WAY THEY’RE DANCING!), and yeah just in general they’re being super in love and gross. i enjoy thinking about this day for them in modern au too, just because it’s a tad easier for my mind to picture, but yeah it’s definitely a holiday they love. they love a day dedicated to love ❤️

the future's in our hands and we will never be the same again was actually the second in a series neither of which have seen the light of day, but the premise of the first part is the usual post tws stuff. steve and sam are looking for bucky, natasha is also helping a lot of the time bc she's integral to the dynamic. they find bucky, bring him to a safe house, try to figure out what his whole deal is at the moment. this one starts out right before they leave for the safe house, and once they get there the four of them learn in their own ways what it is they need to be a person again, and the answer to that is CLEARLY have a shrek marathon.

Natasha got up and went to a closet, which upon opening revealed a shelf full of tapes. “Any thoughts or is it dealer’s choice?” she asked. “I don’t feel like thinking,” Sam answered. Steve shrugged as she looked at him, “No preference.” “Okay,” Nat yanked a tape out and held it aloft, “Then you can’t complain.” The cover had four characters sitting in front of a giant green ‘S’. Steve really couldn’t complain because he had no idea what it was. Sam could, though.

“Ugh,” he groaned, wrinkling his nose in mock-disgust, “Shrek? Yeah, this is definitely why you weren’t invited to sleepovers.” “Correct,” she said, clearly trying to keep her laughter at bay as she slid the tape into the machine to start the movie, “That is literally the only reason.”

"Well I'm not mad at that view," she said appreciatively. "Shit," Sam repeated, angling the phone away from Bucky as he stood, who was laughing and doing absolutely nothing to cover himself, "Video call, Romanoff?" "I have no regrets," she replied warmly, "Hey, Rogers, you owe me twenty dollars." "Jesus, really?" they heard Steve's muffled voice call as Sam sat back on the bed next to Bucky, who pulled a rumpled sheet over their laps to give a modicum of decency as he finally propped himself up into a seated position.

Silver does not want to but after Billy takes off with the clear intent to go through with his plan (obviously not remembering their falling out because he does not remember Flint. In not remembering Flint, he also does not remember large portions of his relationship with Madi. Madi has long since parted ways with Silver, unable to stomach the lies that have festered their relationship)

Silver remembers Vane (Ortus) as the captain who he started the revolution, Charles’ death acting as what killed it in its cradle

Miranda’s (Abigail) “ghost” coming to Silver in his remembrance of the Black Sails timeline, constantly questioning the way he tells things, challenging him without explicitly stating it

In this version of events, Gates and Miranda are allowed to grow close and confer with one another, consulting on the progress of things

Without being completely conscious of the movement, his hand came up for a third time to rake nervously through his hair, never making it before Penny's hand closed around his wrist. His grip was solid and warm, but not too tight, like he was giving Q every opportunity to break away if he wanted to. All the sudden, the guy was in Quentin's space, apparently very interested in the hand he now had a hold of. "I'd accuse you of trying to claw your hair out of your scalp, but I think you bite your nails too short for that." Quentin's thoughts dissolved with a bit of a fizzle, or something like TV snow, or radio static, or pop rocks. One of those for sure. He only seemed capable of stammering incomprehensibly. “I can practically hear the little gears in your head shifting into a dangerous speed,” Penny remarked with a smirk, “Jesus, Coldwater, you have no chill.” Penny’s other hand came up to gently caress the side of Quentin’s face, leaning in until they were only a hair’s breadth apart. Quentin’s brain finally caught up with what was happening and he jerked away suddenly, snapping his head back so quickly he cracked it against the sharp corner of the cabinet in a moment of confused panic. “Shit,” Penny hissed, stepping back but still half reaching out towards Quentin, "Shit, I’m sorry, I didn't read that right, are you okay?"

untitled bb au is a modern day ofmd blackbonnet fic hehehe. i never fleshed it out enough in writing, but i think the premise was stede and ed broke up and stede was being WEIRD about it (and they'd eventually get back together once stede calmed down lmfao).

"Jim said you're being weird," a familiar voice said from behind him. Stede looked over his shoulder to see Oluwande behind the bar, giving him A Look. Stede didn't want to know what exactly the meaning of it was, but it was certainly meant to convey something. "I haven't seen Jim in ages," Stede tried for plausible deniability while not quite lying. It was true, it had to have been a couple of months since he had seen Jim. "Yeah, I know. Kinda makes it weirder that you call up their work every week on the busiest night then hang up before they can help you." Right, of course Olu would know, being that Jim was his partner and they were probably getting sick of all this. Stede felt his cheeks heat up a little, but stubbornly kept up his pretense. "Could be another man who sounds like me?" "You're aware that this is the twenty first century and pretty much everywhere's got caller ID, right?" Olu almost looked torn between amused and unimpressed now, "Maybe it could be someone that sounds just like you, but unlikely his name is also Stede Bonnet. Not a common one, mate."

I know like all your iterations have a hard exterior and entitled rich boy complex but what does it take for each of them to get to that *soft* place/moment with their reader? like even before the snowman series was there ever moments tnii was soft? for example something random like bmb tomura getting soft when his mental health was hurting and he just needed his reader

omg anon this is a FUN question!!! i’m only going to answer for touya-nii, bmb dabi + tag dabi, but if you’re interested in my other iterations as well (the twins, 50s!dabi + DA!touya) or other characters just send in another ask and i’ll answer for them, too! c:

HAHAHA that is true for the most part, minus tag!dabi + bmb!dabi (at least in the rich boy complex bit but yeah they def all have hard exteriors hehe). one thing they all share is that they each become marginally softer and sweeter beneath the veil of night, particularly between two and five in the morning. it is a combination of the sleepy haze fatigue casts over their brains, as well as the faux/pseudo protection nighttime brings with it—they are all ever-so-slightly more willing and more likely to be more honest, open, raw and vulnerable during the deep, dark hours of the night. it feels as though those confessions and fears and desires mumbled out into her hair or skin or nightgown or sheets will stay hidden in the night, or will burn up with the rising sun, as if they never happened at all.

more specifically, though:

touya-nii: there are definitely moments before my snowman & me where touya is a little softer, with his behaviour in i take my pills and i’m happy all the time, especially at the end of the piece, being a good example. anything that rudely reminds touya that he isn’t actually entirely invincible and completely in control of his life and the lives of those surrounding him will more often than not have him seeking out the comfort only his little sister can provide him with (and his blood relatives are often a very strong and stark reminder of this, and thus a trigger), especially since she is one constant in his life where he can be 99.9% sure she is his to entirely control and predict. it’s kind of ironic that the reminder of his lack of complete and total control is exactly what causes his usually meticulously controlled emotions to spiral.

touya also has a tendency to continually grow incrementally softer towards his reader the longer they’ve been officially together.

bmb dabi: bmb dabi actually gets soft ridiculously easily, and sometimes all it takes is a dazzling smile, or a pretty pout, or glittering eyes blinking wide and pleading at him, to make him totally melt. he is also very much not immune to that sweet, playful begging that’s pitched high and full of giggles but not necessarily whiny or super bratty. bmb dabi is also such a sucker for waterworks and intense negative emotions in those he loves/cares about; reader starts crying in the middle of their fight in part two and his demeanour almost instantly changes.

additionally, bmb dabi just genuinely loves seeing those he cares about happy, especially if he is the source or reason for that happiness (stems mostly from selfishness and arrogance + deeply rooted/buried, subconscious self-esteem issues; it makes him feel very important). while he doesn’t like to be told what to do or ordered around, he does enjoy the payoff that comes with fulfilling a want or need of someone he loves, especially if it’s of his own violation, which almost always works in tandem to satisfy something that he wants as well, or if it’s something that’s been asked of him in a gentle and sweet way (as opposed to demanded, ordered, or whined/screamed out in a bratty tantrum). even so, this emotional payoff is something uncontrollable, and something that still blazes in his chest (albeit less intensely) any time he gives into a request or demand made by his reader, which is one of the reasons why he has such a difficult time saying no to her.

tag dabi: genuine honesty really gets him if it comes from someone he actually gives a fuck about. something that leaves his girl raw and ripped open by her own vying fingers, bearing it all to him, for him, ribs and heart and soul, will somewhat melt his steely exterior. he’s phenomenal at reading others and deciphering the nuances and truths embedded in their facial expressions and tones of voice (which is why he’s so damn good at subtle manipulation), so it is exceptionally easy for him to tell when someone is being truthful and authentic. and despite the fact that he himself often isn’t truthful + authentic, it’s a trait he seriously values in others.

when he is genuine and sincere and truthful with someone, it signifies that he trusts them and cares about them deeply, so to him and in his mind, when someone is genuine and authentic with him, it means they trust him enough to be open and vulnerable with him, and he appreciates that a lot (it makes him feel special and significant, which in turn softens him a bit). this, of course, usually works in his favour as well, as he will exploit the trust + honesty + insecurities of others (shared in confidence with him) as one of his many tools to manipulate them into doing exactly what he wants.

the only other thing that will make him exceptionally soft and is almost completely reserved for his baby and his baby alone is seeing her in extreme psychological and/or physical distress. it ignites and flares his Daddy Instincts, has a fierce need to protect and nurture surging hot and blistering in his chest—a blaze that entirely consumes his being—and suddenly he must shelter and safeguard her, must take care of her, must make it better. this is demonstrated in the beginning of part two, when he tends to her and her psychological and physical wounds at the motel after keigo’s abusive outburst.

so those are the things that’ll make each of them soft with their reader, tho now that i’ve answered and i’m rereading your ask i’m realizing that you might’ve actually been asking what will make them be vulnerable with their reader, in which case the answer is:

touya-nii: exactly the same answer as what makes him soft. touya-nii possesses several sociopathic traits, one of those being his extreme selfishness; the things that make him soft almost always pertain to his own needs or serve him in some way, shape, or form.

bmb dabi: after a sacred or a deeply personal interaction, like sex or being intimate in any way. it’s almost a transaction to him; if you can make him feel safe and you’ve already worked on gaining his trust (as well as have already opened up to him!), he’ll open up to you in these moments of intense or extreme intimacy, or directly following those moments when the remnants of such a substantial and personal connection still wavers in the air between the two of you. in other words, he has to feel a deep connection with you first, and only after that has been established and solidified to concrete will you even have a hope of him being vulnerable, which will only be possible/come out when the conditions are ideal and he feels exceptionally safe. example: when he shares a piece of his past with reader in part four, after a sexual encounter.

tag dabi: either when he judges that it will be beneficial for him to reveal something about himself (example: revealing to reader that his mother was/is an addict in the middle of one of their more vicious fights, in an effort to knock reader down a few pegs and gain the upper hand again) or, similar to bmb dabi + kind of connecting with what makes tag dabi soft, if you trust him enough to be vulnerable with him AND he loves/cares about you, he will be more likely to be vulnerable with you, too. both are crucial components to the equation, and the chances of him revealing a shard of himself to you are even higher if you’ve just been very open and emotional with him, or if you’re going through an exceptionally difficult time. example: him revealing bits of his family past to reader while during their motel stay.

@enragedvariator you asked what my favourite moth was and i typed out a whole answer, went to get pictures of the moths and when i came back the draft was gone :( anyway that's why i'm answering it like this because i really like your question and don't want it to go unanswered!

anyway moths are really fuckin cool! i'd researched them for fun a while back and while i've forgotten most of my research i still find them really swag. my favourite moth i think would be the white witch moth? also known as the ghost moth, it's called that because (and i believe this is a story of dubious authenticity) naturalists and/or researchers who would try to hunt them down for their collections and/or research would shoot at them but because of their huge wingspan in comparison to their body they would appear unfazed by the bullets which would be only hitting the wings!

this is the ghost moth, they tend to get reeeally big!

oh also in second place comes the atlas moth :0

this is an atlas moth, look at those gorgeous colours and patterns!! fun fact, the atlas moth has a three dimensional model you can see if you look it up on google, it's sooooo pretty i once spent fifteen minutes lookimg at it gently bob up and down

third place is for the potentially fake venezuelan poodle moth, it's sooooo pretty and fluffy but afaik no one has been able to conclusively decide if it actually exists or not!

Hooty being in a trance during the Moonlight conjuring isn't anything new. He spends most of his life in a space trance. At least this one was intertwined with the true power of friendship.

Whoa. I hope you don't mind me answering a bunch of these at once - this is a lot!

1. Hmm, that’s true! Hooty did seem to be conscious during the conjuring, seeing as he was able to remember what happened afterwards. It looks as if the only difference was that he wasn’t able to move on his own. Being part of the Moonlight Friendship Conjuring wasn’t really a problem for him - it was overall a positive experience.

2. You make a good point - regardless of whether or not the house itself existed before Eda came along, it’s probably called the Owl House because of her. Since I don’t know much about the circumstances surrounding her curse yet, I don’t want to rule out other possibilities, but that definitely seems the most likely.

3. I agree! I did briefly touch on that in this post. Since Episode 5, Amity’s come off as less smug and more... abrasive? Standoffish? She’s not exactly acting friendly yet (as she acknowledges at the end of Episode 7), not even with Luz, but she seems doesn’t seem quite so pleased with herself or as keen to show off for the most part... instead, she gives off the impression that she’d really prefer it if everyone just left her alone for a bit. Of course, she hasn’t had much luck with that in either episode!

4. You’re right; Luz did miss out on Eda and Lilith’s duel, which means that although she knows Eda is powerful, she doesn’t have much info on Lilith’s abilities. Meanwhile, she’s seen how strong Willow is firsthand.

I would like to disagree on one point here, though: from what we’ve seen of Willow’s abilities so far, I wouldn’t exactly say that her powers are inherently destructive or completely unsuited for delicate tasks? Going by what was shown in Episode 3, Willow is able to control how much damage her vines deal to both stationary structures and moving beings on a pretty large scale. Not only that, she used her magic on a much smaller scale (to heal the flower) and to perform complicated tasks (blocking off Amity’s abomination while also transporting Luz safely outside the school at the same time).

At the moment, I think that Willow’s greatest weakness is actually that her powers are subject to her emotions; she wilted the flower after initially healing it just because she felt upset over Amity showing up, and tends to sprout vines involuntarily when she’s upset. When she’s focused, she has a lot of control over her plants, but her powers can get away from her if she’s not careful. That said, I haven’t seen her powers in action too many times yet, so I could be wrong - it’s always possible that a later episode will explore the limitations of her magic in greater detail!

5. Yeah! One of my early theories for how things might go down in Episode 6 was that Luz and friends would run into Eda by coincidence at some point during the episode and help her out with some dangerous predicament she’d found herself in, and that would get Luz off the hook as far as being in trouble over the Moonlight Conjuring went. That first part did end up happening, but because Luz had no idea about Eda messing up, Eda was free to play the Strict Mentor Who Must Punish Her Student For Her Misdeeds (for all of about 3 seconds) without having to worry about Luz bringing up Eda’s own mistakes.

(And, keeping things consistent with his reaction to Eda’s crisis in Episode 3, King drops the whole issue once it’s resolved, so Eda probably won’t have to worry about him spilling the beans about this either.)

6. Oooh, that’s a take that I hadn’t considered! There was a lot of emphasis on magical ability in this episode, from the comments the other girls made about Willow lacking talent, to Luz’s reassurance that Willow demonstrated her true abilities by helping to bring a house to life - not to mention what Eda said at the end about it taking powerful magic to animate the house - so I kind of assumed that the Moonlight Conjuring was a direct reflection of the conjurers’ magical talent, rather than their bonds with one another. But this is definitely an interesting way to look at it!
