Summary: A retrospective on the interconnected timeline of Dream, Sapnap, and TV and film star Y/N, via social media.

2021. The year starts with Y/N's recent film racking up nominations during awards season, while Y/N themselves tries to work their way into getting into the DreamSMP. Dream isn't exactly thrilled with this, and he and Y/N appear to start beefing on Twitter. Sapnap moves in with Dream and his still-unknown housemate, but appears to be having a great time there, and Dream, in an interview, reveals that he's not technically single. Ft. mentions of the PSMP

At the beginning of January 2021, Y/N's tweet 'so glad they pushed back the SAG awards to march this year at my request, my boyfriend just moved in so im unavailable for the rest of the month' quickly followed by 'dont worry its not because i carried furniture and hurt my back or anything, my boyfriend helped him with all the heavy lifting, i just want to know i have several weeks to be domestic without being interrupted' caused chaos and confusion on Twitter, and they trended for the following 8 hours. After relative radio silence for twelve hours, the only tweet you chose to interact with was one that asked 'which is the side piece tho', to which you responded 'both i sleep in the middle 💙❤️🖤'.

Y/N also retweets a video originally posted on TikTok by user @.woolfenhawke; the woman in the video has dark skin and is wearing pale yellow pyjamas. The label at the top of the video reads 'millennial celebrity Y/N every single time they open Twitter Dot Com'. She starts facing away from the camera, and turns around suddenly, and the camera zooms in very quickly on her face as she lip-syncs to the audio of Tyler Oakley saying 'Hello LGBT community'.

The most popular fandoms in the character tag of Y/N Y/L/N are Actor RPF, HELIX (2020) RPF, Star Wars RPF, X-Men RPF, and American Horror Story (TV) RPF. The most common pairing is tied between Y/N Y/L/N/Amandla Stenberg and Y/N Y/LN/Evan Peters, followed closely by Y/N/Reader. However, since the beginning of January, there has been a steady increase in fan works rated Mature or Explicit featuring polyamorous pairings.

Sapnap posts a photo of himself and Patches in order to announce that he's moved in with Dream and Dream's housemate. Not long after the official post goes up, two posts are added to his Instagram story.

The first is an piece of fanart of Y/N's character Woolfe standing back to back with who appears to be Technoblade from the DreamSMP as he's often depicted in fanart. Technoblade is wearing what appears to be the top half of a boar's skull as a mask covering his eyes, while Woolfe is wearing the angular, aesthetically cyberpunk mask that covers their mouth and looks like a wolf's nose and snarling mouth. The background is black while both characters are lit in sharp relief from either side, with Woolfe being lit in neon green, and Technoblade being lit in neon pink. Stretching across the whole middle of the piece in bold, white lettering is the quote 'If you want to be a hero then die like one.' The art piece is in landscape, A3, and framed and hung against a dark wall. The artist of the piece has been tagged, and across the top Sapnap has added 'proof of housemate's 'not a shrine' to technoblade' in pink letters.

The second is of a polaroid stuck to a dark wall, and an unlit but partially used candle at the very bottom of the image. The polaroid is partially obscured as Sapnap appears to have purposefully edited the photo to scribble in black over one of the figures in the photo to hide their identity. What can be seen in the photo is Sapnap, a little blurry, clearly laughing, half turned from the camera and positioned like he's leaning into someone with his arm around them. There is am arm around his shoulder that is unobscured, but their hand is cut out of the image and they are wearing long sleeves, so there is no identifiable features visible. Over the black scribble, in white text; 'a little bit of a shrine ❤️'.

"They travel a lot, the housemate travels a lot for work usually," one of the earliest streams Sapnap does after he moves is a somewhat indulgent Q&A while playing Valorant, "in like, chunks of time, a few weeks I guess? But when they're home they're still working, but usually in a way that's, I guess more similar to me and Dream? Like it'd feel weird and, I don't know, like arrogant, I guess? To compare our work? Usually at least. But because of how everything is, you know, a lot of their work is online, and like we have a schedule for who needs the house quiet at what times. That's- that's all I can really say. I know it's vague," he laughs apologetically, "but it has to be." Then, after a few moments of reading through chat he frowns, "can you tell us where housemate is now? I don't know if I'm allowed, hang on," he pulls out his phone and types away, "I'll ask." It doesn't take more than a minute for him to receive a response; "they're on the West Coast, that's all I'm allowed to tell you."

He does not address any of the numerous questions asking him to clarify the Housemate's relationship with Dream or himself.

@.dreams-housemate-updates changes their twitter handle to @.dreamnaps-housemate-updates. Their header also changes to the meme image of Bugs Bunny, pointing with both hands to the right, overlaid with the communist flag, with the words "Our Housemate" in the centre.

On Valentine's Day, you post one picture to your Instagram story. It's of a nondescript hotel bed covered in red rose petals. The duvet is black and neat, and the only caption you've added is white text highlighted with red in the top right corner; no shitposts today im actually in love.

It had been somewhat disheartening to be on set on Valentine's Day knowing you were so far from the two people you loved the most. It's been weeks since you were home, which only made it all the harder. The shoot went well, and you were glad to be messaging Dream and Sapnap through the day, even if you couldn't be near them.

Around lunch they tell you that they're sending flowers to your hotel, that it was meant to be a surprise but they'll need your room number, and that the hotel might call to confirm with you. As much as you love the gesture, it makes you miss them both even more, and you start browsing flights back to Florida on your phone in between takes, fantasizing about having the time to take off and see them.

The hotel calls in the afternoon, and you confirm that anything from your boyfriends has full permission to be placed in your room while you were gone. Sun will be setting in a few hours, there's no time left for your fantasy to come true, not if you wanted to remain professional.

There'd always be next year, you tell yourself.

You message to say that you miss them, and they respond in kind, both quick to assure you that there's always going to be more time, that one day wouldn't matter. Perhaps not in the long run, but today it felt like it did.

So when you get back to your hotel and see the rose petals on your bed, it feels too good to be true.

And when you catch sight of both Dream and Sapnap waiting patiently in the larger living space of the room, you feel yourself begin to tear up. They're both with you immediately, wrapping you up in their arms, endeared as they try and soothe you, murmur for you not to cry.

It's been a long day of heartache, thinking that you'd be without them, so it's all you can do to hold them tightly, a mess of laughter and cathartic tears as you tell them how much you love them both. You hadn't realised just how much you'd missed them until this moment, until you're peppering them with kisses and babbling about how this has gone from the worst day to maybe one of the best of your life.

"So far," Sapnap grins teasingly, kissing your temple. Dream echoes his words, echoes his tone, and you feel yourself growing flustered as your initial wave of shock and awe had died down.

Best day of your life, so far.

In early March 2021, the nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards are announced, and HELIX receives 6 nominations; Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score, Best Visual Effects, and Chris Evans is nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Controversy arises, however, as Y/N is also announced as a nominee for Best Actor.

A statement is released by the Academy the day after the nominees were announced, stating the decision as to which category they were nominated in was due to the technical broadness of the category, and that Y/N's team had been contacted prior to the nomination being confirmed.

A day after The Academy releases their statement, Y/N posts two updates to their Instagram story;

1. A blurry selfie taken in bed, sheet pulled up to their neck, giving the camera peace sign. Across their forehead reads 'its an honour to be nominated, im looking forward to the day that there's a category specifically for nonbinary actors and actresses so people like me don't have to be torn to shreds online when people try to acknowledge and appreciate us'.

2. A photo of a mostly empty plate sitting on their bedside table, covered in crumbs, with a knife and fork sitting in the middle. Their hand can be seen giving a thumbs up closer to the camera, and is captioned '"why didn't you respond before now its been two days????" sorry buddy i was getting my shit rocked and eating pancakes in bed. i knew it'd be a hot button issue online so i decided to celebrate the nom first. im allowed to celebrate my achievements ✌️'.

HELIX ends up winning four of the six Oscars it's nominated for; Best Director, Best Visual Effects, Best Original Score, and Y/N wins Best Actor.

Before I start, I need to say something to the people like me - non-binary and trans people like me - beyond this room, watching this live or in the future; hi! Look! We can see it now, you can see me; the world is changing and our future is bright! [Brief pause.] Now, on January 4th this year, my ex-manager told me I was an unhireable PR nightmare, and tonight he decides to text me; congrats on the nom, for your own sake don't start a twitter tirade when you lose, Anthony Hopkins is eighty seven, he can't fight back. [They are becoming audibly choked up.] To that I say; don't you wish you put your energy into something useful? [Pause as they compose themselves.] Which is why I'm up here, thanking my amazing manager who actually believes in me, our whole incredible team behind HELIX, especially Rob and Amandla - you should both be up here with me, because I wouldn't be here without either of you. [They take a moment to clutch the Oscar to their chest, looking overwhelmingly grateful.] And the only thing better than this is knowing I get to see my wonderful, supportive, damn amazing partners after. My favourite place in the world is at home with you both, I love you. [Sniffling, they give a watery laugh.] This is a moment, isn't it? This is our moment. Thank you.

Given the immense exposure of The Oscars, Y/N's speech quickly goes viral. The backlash from the conservative side of the internet is immense, however the outpouring of support still manages to dwarf it. It's seen as a cultural reset, with 'the world is changing and our future is bright' being painted across every LGBT+ corner of the internet. Also, both the polyamorous and nonbinary communities specifically appear to adopt the phrase 'this is our moment'.

The following interaction occurred during a Just Chatting stream on Wilbur Soot's Twitch channel on the 30th of April, and can be found in the stream's VOD beginning at 53:46.

"Can I share something surreal with you all?" Wilbur asks, tone vaguely bemused as he was streaming with Tommy, Ranboo, and Philza, "lads, chat, can I share the most, I think unexpected reaction I've received after yesterday?"

"Unexpected how?" Ranboo snorts a laugh.

"Like, I think it was the emotion I was going for, but I never expected this person to contact me?"

"Oh interesting, who was it?" Tommy asked excitedly.

"Well, I mean, there's weird ways the SMP kind of breaches containment that makes me think 'ah, people lying for attention on the internet again'," Wilbur begins, and is met with stifled giggles from the others, who seem to know exactly what he means by that sentiment, "which I don't necessarily know why I think that, since most times it's kind of innocuous or makes a roundabout kind of sense, like a politicians kid getting them to tweet at us, but there was something a few months back that I heard about and I was like 'that's absolute bullshit'."

"You do especially seem to get a few weird ones," Phil agrees.

"And I don't usually get star struck; I'm not trying to brag here, but I've had - well, we've all had - some pretty high profile encounters here and there," Wilbur's voice was rising in intensity, as the others voiced their agreement, "but there was an interaction a few months ago, and I kind of shot my shot since I don't use Twitter and had my Discord passed on to this person, and nothing really came of it."

"Who was it, man?!" Tommy groaned, frustrated by Wilbur building up the encounter, much to everyone else's amusement. Wilbur pauses for a moment.

"Yesterday I received my first message from Y/N since we'd connected on Discord, after months mind you, and it's a selfie of them giving me the thumbs up, whilst clearly crying -"

"What?!" Several of the others in the chat exclaimed, Wilbur clearly matching their confused, startled energy.

"Right?! And you wanna know what the caption was? Here, I'll read it to you guys, it says; Wilbur, why am I crying about minecraft ghost."

Silence.

Then;

"Three days ago they won an actual fucking Oscar; what reality am I in right now?" He crows, still clearly baffled.

"That can't be real," Ranboo announced, sounding a little dazed.

"Why is Y/N Y/L/N crying about minecraft ghost, Wilbur?" Tommy practically yelled, "we saw HELIX together with Tubbo the last time I was in Brighton, I refuse to believe fucking Woolfe shed real tears over Ghostbur!" Then, after a beat, "oh God, and it was my fault too! I need to start writing an apology," he's clearly half joking, and the others play along.

"The character Woolfe?"

"No, to Y/N themselves," Tommy says, adding, "maybe if I ask Dream nice enough he'll take it back."

Not long after this conversation occurred live, the following was posted to Twitter;

Summary: There's a price to pay for clear intentions. Woolfe understands the roles and rules of this place and is happy to call themselves a villain, however the one who originally chose that title isn't exactly willing to give it up, so Dream decides to find out exactly how far Woolfe is willing to go for it.

Notes: Y/N and Dream's one online interaction makes me laugh so fucking hard, they're both so chaotic, I don't know who is the one with the audacity here. I think they both have far too much. Sapnap makes an offhand comment during a stream about how he's missing their housemate since they went to the UK. Dream seems to share this sentiment, joking 'and we didn't even get to swap them for George while they're gone, it's so unfair'. Both seem genuinely disheartened by the housemate's absence, but make a note of how proud they both are of everything the housemate has been doing.

From May 20th to May 23rd, the 'PenisSMP' or 'PSMP' trends on Tumblr as a shitpost directed at the Minecraft YouTube community, that flourished on the oft overlooked blogging platform, was quickly co-opted and expounded upon by said community.

In amongst its colourful cast and rapidly developing lore, several real figures were included and adopted into the kayfabe, including current members of the DreamSMP such as Tommyinnit (given the alias 'Wife_Haver' in the PSMP), and ConnorEatsPants, with no significant alterations to his already established character whatsoever, just that he existed in this SMP too. Alongside them, Y/N was quickly adopted into the lore and cast of characters with the in-game alias of '4rs0n_R1sk', as first mentioned in user @.localtubboenthusiast's post;

I Spent A Day With DREAM was posted to YouTube by Anthony Padilla on the 9th of June, and the following exchange begins around minute 5;

Dream: God it's so weird, actually, because there's been these huge changes in my personal life that have happened, like, parallel to the whole YouTube thing, but are still significantly effected by it, if that makes sense? Anthony: What kind of changes to do you mean? Dream: Like, uh, I'm not fully sure if I'm able to talk about this, though I guess if this bit makes it into the video I've confirmed that I am allowed to actually talk about it, [Dream laughs] but I feel very lucky to currently be in the best relationship of my life, but like, I feel like that would have happened, like me- me and my- you know, [Dream stumbles over his words a little, as if to purposefully dance around the precise wording of the relationship] that would still be happened even if I never blew up.

On June 26th Twitter user @.goldenghostgirl asks you if you'd be watching Minecraft Championship (Pride), and who you'd be watching. You respond less than half an hour later with three consecutive tweets; 'me and my parasocial relationship will be watching pink parrots 😌🦜💓', then 'only because @.smajor didnt invite me to play which isn't his fault since he doesn't know I'm secretly very good at minecraft.... but just so you know... for next pride... 👀 👉👈' and finally 'im actually being legit here, minecraft as a game is far bigger in our house than I really let on, I'd love to prove my boyfriends' mentoring has paid off 💖'.

For MCC Pride, the team Pink Parrots is made up of SolidarityGaming, Grian, Wilbur Soot, and Technoblade. Highlights from their team during the event include;

Wilbur makes a point to say hello to Y/N at the beginning of the event as he figures they're probably watching. When providing clarification for the situation to the rest of his team in the VC he refers to it as 'mutually parasocial'. Wilbur also jokes about becoming an honourary member of Y/N's polycule. Y/N does not publically comment on any of this; it is not made clear if they saw it.

Technoblade mentions that Dream has been DMing him during the event, and that both he, and his housemate who isn't Sapnap, but is just happy to be here, are cheering them on.

Wilbur's fire alarm chirping aggressively, much to his growing frustration, until he has to disconnect as there is apparently an actual fire emergency in his building. He had to talk to the firefighters who arrived on scene in order to confirm that he was safe to re-enter the building. He is able to rejoin MCC.

In Wilbur's absence, there are several suggestions for a temporary replacement; Technoblade suggests Dream, Grian mentions that Y/N has put their hand up on Twitter, while Wilbur himself suggests Philza Minecraft. Philza ultimately becomes Wilbur's temporary replacement.

Philza breaking down with laughter when he reads your follow up tweet; "Don't look at me, I retract my statement. Coach, I was wrong I'm not ready for the big leagues, you shouldn't put me on. If you have the choice of Philza Minecraft of course you choose Philza Minecraft." He then adds, as his laughter dies down, that he understands now why Wilbur had called his interactions with you 'surreal'.

After the event concluded, you post one final tweet; "if any interviewer ever brings up today I WILL lie."

On July 14, the final episode of Loki is released on Disney+. During one of the final scenes, after the timelines have all split and Loki is making his way to try and warn Mobius about what had happened, we see Y/N being dragged through the facility, clearly reprising their role as the mutant Contakt (Itta Marie) from 2020's New Mutants.

An hour after the premiere of the episode, Y/N tweeted twice;

1. 'oh yeah lol should update my IMDB about that'.

2. 'nd yeah dad acquired, for those keeping score at home' [Image ID: Y/N and Tom Hiddleston in costume as their respective characters Contakt and Loki on the set of the Loki series. They appear to be in an animated discussion between takes.

"I miss him," you admit freely. Tommy snorts a laugh, but the conversation trails off until, "it's so cool to talk to you finally, both my boyfriends speak so very highly of you."

"You're... a fan of mine?"

"I like your videos, yeah," you agree without hesitation, "and your arc is super compelling to watch on the SMP."

Tommy goes very quiet for several long moments before you hear faintly 'ow... ow... ow...'.

"Are you okay?" You ask, concerned, and Tommy hums for a moment.

"Sorry, just had to pinch myself a few times," then even as your laughing fondly, he continues, "still not convinced this is a real conversation I'm having."

@.dreamnaps-housemate-updates posted a clip from Sapnap's then-latest Minecraft stream on July 28th with the caption 'i love the way they love';

"What's been your favourite part of living with me so far?" Dream's voice is saccharine and teasing as he asks Sapnap live on stream.

"God, you're so needy," Sapnap laughs, though his tone is fond. While his focus remains primarily on his screen where he's playing Minecraft, occasionally his gaze will flick to something to his left, off camera.

"Thank you," Dream sounds quite smug, "but is that really your favourite?" In the silence that follows, Dream's tone takes on that saccharine tone as he prompts again.

"I mean if you twist it the right way, like with the right words," Sapnap sounds uncharacteristically soft, almost embarrassed, and seems to be intently focusing on his game with a faint flush to his cheeks.

"Twist what? Me being needy?" Dream half laughs, but Sapnap continues, sincere.

"I mean, I obviously wouldn't actually word it like that, but you're obviously the best part of living with you," he admits, a warm silence follows, and finally Sapnap looks directly at whatever is to his left, though he still appears to be addressing Dream when he speaks; "I'm not mentioning our housemate because they already look like they're a half second away from saying something emotional despite the fact that I'm live," he warns pointedly with a grin, as if to stave off the housemate in question. Then, after a moment, he softens his tone and expression considerably, practically radiating affection, "but you're the other best part about living here."

During an interview as part of Free Guy's press junket, an interviewer asks Joe Keery and Ryan Reynolds if either of them had met Y/N's partners.

"No, but I'm sure they're having a great time in Canada with my high school girlfriend," Ryan says without missing a beat as his younger costars break out in laughter. All three of them are grinning, a clearly easy comradery between them all, even as Y/N gives him a shove and insists their boyfriends are real. "Oh yeah, then what are their names?"

"I wish I could tell you, but I literally can't," you admit, a little sheepish, even as Ryan loudly proclaims that you're not making a strong case for yourself, "I wish- dude, I promise I wish I could tell you, but you wouldn't even begin to believe why I can't!" You insist once more.

On October 3rd, you tweeted in rapid succession 'Callahan's my best friend now', 'hacker voice: im in', '@.Quackity heyyyy what are u doing rn? u free buddy?' and then a link to your Twitch account, where you were live on the Dream SMP.

The following is one of many short clips that you liked on Twitter after your Stream ended;

"Hey look at you go," Quackity laughs "you know your way around here better than I do; you weren't lying about watching us it seems."

"Yeah, well I play quite a bit with my boyfriends, since it's something they're really into, and they really got me into the SMP in the first place; they've been invested in this since day one," you said, smiling warmly before you leaned close to your camera and mic, "and now chat, you're gonna go ahead and clip that for me, and post it to twitter, so they can see it."

Dream and Sapnap both post photos to Instagram of several Halloween costumes they wear together. Most of the photos are just of the two of them, always with Dream entirely covered to continue obscuring his identity, but the final photo of both photosets is one of the housemate, for the first time in record.

They appear to be wearing a black hoodie, black gloves, black jeans, and appear to have borrowed the mask Dream has worn previously.

In Dream's Instagram post, the housemate is looking directly down into the digital camera they have around their neck, clearly having been taking the photos for Dream and Sapnap. The mask is lifted off of their face and sits on top of their head, however with the angle they are looking, the mask completely obscures their face and smiles directly at the camera.

In Sapnap's post, the setting is different to any of the other photos, as it appears to have been taken in a living room. Dream is still wearing the black hoodie and Squid Game mask, while the housemate appears to have fallen asleep with their head in his lap. Dream's mask is on the arm of the sofa, as is what appears to be a bright green hoodie. The housemate's hood is up while they're laying with their back to the camera so their face isn't visible. Dream is resting a hand on their hip and has his phone in the other, seemingly still using it despite his mask.

On Halloween itself, Y/N posts an image of themselves against a black wall dressed the same way as Dream appears in a few of the earlier photos he'd posted of himself, with a green hoodie, completed with a large, white, smiling mask. Both on Instagram and Twitter the photos is captioned 'this is my official apology to @.DreamWasTaken for breaking into his server'. Dream responds on Twitter telling you 'you're on thin ice....... lucky you're almost as cute as i am in that fit'.

On November 11th, the trailer for the 15th season of sitcom 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' is uploaded across the series' various social media platforms. The clip, that lasts just over one minute, appears to take place in Dublin, and includes indications that Y/N will play a reoccurring character throughout the season.

The two most notable clips are;

'Sweet Dee' seems gleeful as she informs Y/N that they are a great assistant, before immediately spitting upon them.

And;

"So we need you to clarify which of us is gay -" Dennis posed the question to Y/N standing close beside his sister.

"Mac, right? He's the gay, isn't he?"

"Yes," Dennis frowns, "but he likes men, and you are -" he gestures to their body, "not. However, if we," he gestures between himself and Dee, "both are trying to sleep with you, then one of us is gay," he paused, visibly deliberating, "or, well, not gay, but also not straight, since that would make this much easier for me, but for me to be straight you'd have to be a woman and you are -" again, he gestures to their body, "not..." Dennis clasped his hands together, tone growing almost furiously frustrated, as if at Y/N themselves, "so now, you beguiling little minx, have made us both potentially neither gay nor straight, you have turned us into Schrodinger's Fruits!" Waiting, breathing hard at the end of his outburst, it cuts to Y/N, visibly confused by the situation, brow furrowed.

Not long after the clips are posted, you retweet it with the caption 'show with the most BDE (big dad energy)' and a photo of yourself on set in Dublin in the middle of a cheesy group hug between the five lead actors of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Not long after, the show's official twitter responds with;

Dennis clearly having taken Y/N by surprise, grabbing them by the shoulders and kissing them. December 2021 is surprisingly quiet.

At the beginning of the month you announce that since you've actually got some time off, you're going to be stepping back from social media to focus on spending time on your partners and yourself. Many voice their support for you, including both Dream and Sapnap.

Sapnap streams far more frequently than Dream, and it's notable that he seems incredibly bright in all December streams, even moreso than usual.

Dream does two Twitter Spaces during the month, and in both he sounds practically giddy, explaining that both he and Sapnap are glad to have their housemate home for the holidays.

Scarlett Sabet: So, a year since Catalyst, what are your thoughts?

Jimmy Page: Well, my thoughts on Catalyst being a living entity a year on: I’m really pleased that we did it and relieved that we did a project that I had in my mind. I had it in my head, at various stages, the characters of the poems. To arrive where we arrived, with something that was really avant-garde, that had not been done before, was really thrilling. It was a “catalyst”, but also a milestone that others hadn’t got to yet.

SS: I think that’s it. You were so passionate and fired up about it and your vision was so clear and distinct, so although before we did it I couldn’t fully comprehend it, I never questioned what you wanted to do. During the recording and production of the album I trusted what you were doing implicitly. We created a new language. Each poem on the album was an important landmark. With the exception of “Rocking Underground”, which I wrote in 2012, you were the first person to hear all the other poems.

JP: Yes, yes, that’s a good point. I was the first person to hear all of those poems. But I also had the pleasure to hear you read on numerous occasions, in a variety of circumstances as well. So I got to feel these poems and to recognise the character of each one and certain cadences you would employ during your readings. I don’t think you ever read one poem exactly the same, because you were breathing new life into it every night. All these things were registering with me. What I didn’t want to do was what people assumed it would be: poems with music behind it. Well, that’s what everyone would think. And I certainly didn’t want to think in the normal sort of way. I wanted to think of it in another way altogether. Let’s do what I know is right and that you know is right, so I presented you with something that, yes, will be musical, it will sound orchestral, but it’s all done with the human voice. And that’s where we arrived at the territory of things that hadn’t been done before.

SS: Yes, that’s really well said.

JP: “Rocking Underground”, I heard you read that at your first poetry reading at World’s End Bookshop in Chelsea and that really got to me. I thought, “Wow, she’s really living this,” and not only that, but that’s a really fine poem. It was a narrative and really interesting. From that point on, having seen your writing and your publications, I thought it was really great you self-published so you didn’t have other people getting in the way of it.

SS: Well, that was thanks to you. I took your advice to self-publish.

JP: “Rocking Underground” was the first poem. I got you to record it on an old Sony cassette player and once you’d done a performance you were happy with, then I got you to track it. Now, this is where the unexplained comes into the equations. I’d used the cassette before, but on this occasion, it played back with this noisy, metallic sound, like an announcement on an underground tube, and, of course, it was written on a train.

SS: Yes, it was written on the Tube in London and I think there is a misnomer that “Rocking” in the title is a reference to rock music. It isn’t. The word “Existing” could replace “Rocking” in the title and the meaning would be the same.

JP: Yes, I’m pleased you said that. And what was played back on the cassette gave an atmosphere that gave an identity to the piece, almost like an invocation. I wanted you to double track it. I knew you’d be able to do that. So there was a metallic-sounding voice, then a more natural sounding voice on top. So that was a great start and you could see that my ideas were a bit wacky. Interestingly enough, when Catalyst was released Phil Alexander played “Rocking Underground” on his Kerrang! Radio show and then he played a Led Zeppelin song afterwards and I thought that was really cool.

SS: It was “Dazed And Confused”.

JP: Well, that’s even better, because that’s the more avant-garde side of what I’ve managed to create in the past, something akin.

SS: You really captured the atmosphere of that and, on a personal note, it was the first poem you saw me read at my first ever poetry reading, so in that way it was a landmark. Also, when I wrote it it was unusual compared to what I had previously written, so that poem was the beginning and you were at the beginning with me, in a way. “Rocking Underground” was also the title of my first book, which I self-published on your advice, to keep creative control. So I think we both knew this poem was going to be opening this album.

JP: The other poem I knew I wanted to try with you was "The Fifth Circle Of Hell”. Every time I witnessed you read that poem, there was such a response, people holding their breath and then a spontaneous applause. I knew how strong it was. So for the recording of it, rather than putting too many textures on it, because of the vocal performance and what was being said and what was being covered in it, I wanted a more locked-in double tracking, not just the power of one voice saying this, but two voices riding all the way through, to make the message even stronger. And you felt at home with these experimental techniques.

SS: I remember so clearly writing it. It had been forming in my mind and then it all came out in one sitting.

JP: Yeah, you did do it in one afternoon. You were channelling, like it was inside you and it had to come out and it did come out. The first time you read it to me I was really impressed, I’ve got to say.

SS: I was really excited to read it to you, because it was so different and really long and it was the narrative of what I wanted to say and I caught it in this rhythm. You were in a meeting in another part of the house and I remember once you had finished saying, “I think I’ve written something.” It was a creative landmark for me.

JP: The thing is, it’s as relevant now as it was then.

SS: The tone of the poem on Catalyst is very aggressive. It’s almost demonic.

JP: Yes, it is. It takes on a different character from how you read it. “Cut Up” was the third track we recorded and you came out with a way of reading it that I had never heard before.

SS: I realised that I needed to adapt the performance for the format: we were making a record. It wasn’t a live poetry reading, where that poem becomes very impassioned.

JP: It was a totally different pacing and it was incredible, the whole hypnotic, mantric quality to it, and as you were doing it I knew I wanted to use an effect that I had used way back in the days of Led Zeppelin.

SS: On which track?

JP: Well, I did it on “You Shook Me”, which is at the end of the first album. You can hear it, but I used it differently on Catalyst. With “Cut Up”, I wanted it to be there, faintly in the background, and it to be an entity to creep in and become more and more audible as things go on, until at the end it builds and it’s almost like a conflict. Again, I knew this hadn’t been done before with spoken word.

SS: That had started as a super-long draft of a poem, written by hand, and it got to the point it was almost 20 pages. I couldn’t really stand it and felt I wanted to do something radical, destroy and dismantle what I had written, then rebuild it. So I remember I cut it up with scissors and because there was rhythm in the pre-existing phrases, the rhythm remained and it incorporated its own dark rhythm as well.

JP: It was remarkable and you were really on fire at this point. But this is how it was in the studio between the two of us, sparking off ideas.

SS: The actual recording was amazing and we were lucky to do it at home, being so comfortable, literally at home, and being with you: the trust between us, it made me brave. I wanted to meet you in that moment.

JP: And we did that. We arrived at that. To hear you do it in a different vein and rate and tempo, it was inspiring for me to come up with ideas. It was powerful.

SS: The first tracks are intense and really confront the listener and then “Euphoric Kiss” comes in and in the version on the album you can hear me laugh at the beginning. It was May when we recorded it, so after a long British winter, everything was coming alive again and I was filled with the joy of creating this piece of work together and it’s a poem I wrote as I was falling in love with you. It’s a love poem, but defiant, and a code between us and it felt joyous to record it.

JP: Yeah, that was beautiful. This was one of the tracks where the poem alone would speak volumes. It needed just the naked honesty of it.

SS: Yes. When I'd perform that poem live, sometimes I'd improvise parts of it. The audience wouldn't know, necessarily, but you would.

JP: I think improvisation is the key to live performance, the people that know your work can see that you're not content to just go through the motions, that you're really hitting it every night in such a way that you're creating and changing the inflections of the poem, the song, whatever it is. Certainly within your poetry I could see you were capable of doing this and moulding things as you were performing them.

SS: You've created these phenomenal, electrifying live performances throughout your life. Are there some that stand out more distinctly to you, especially in terms of live performances, whether it be in a huge stadium or smaller venues or a studio?

JP: On occasion I've reviewed some work I've done in my own environment, from the home studio I had in the 1970s, where I had the facility to multitrack and layer guitars and other instruments as well. Whatever fires that off is the initial inspiration to create a piece. I'm sure it's the same as writing a poem. You get the inspiration for it and you build it and it takes shape.

SS: Yeah.

JP: And it's not necessarily a really long process. It's something that's really coming out. So under the circumstances of a live situation, I've heard versions of “Dazed And Confused”, for example, four nights a row on tour and I was surprised just how much improvisation there was each night, which I didn't repeat on any other night. To hear them decades later and hear what the mindset was... It was just allowing things to come through. They're unreleased.

SS: Do you have specific memories of when you've walked off stage after a performance or improvisation and just known, "Wow. That one was really..."

JP: Well, I particularly went on stage to do that sort of thing, so even though there was a set list, just walking up the steps to go on stage I knew what the numbers were going to be and I knew that there were little signs for the improvising sections that meant to the other, "Right this is going to change gear," and it was going to be something new, so they were just going to have to pay attention to these signs that would occur. So these whole passages would come out and then I would change it again into another one and that's really living by the seat of your pants, but I really enjoyed doing it and fortunately I was able to. I've really built my whole reputation on improvisation and spontaneous music. I can appreciate it in somebody else, certainly you. I could see you were breathing new life into poems every night.

SS: “Possession” was very intimate. I also adapted the performance of that piece. I wanted it to be intimate and it’s sensual and spiritual. I guess that’s why it’s just presented as it’s recorded.

JP: Yes. Then it goes into “And My Lungs Fill Ecstatic Song”.

SS: Oh, yes! Well, that was written when I was walking by the River Thames in Sonning. I was inspired by the landscape. I wrote some notes. It wasn’t until we went away that December that I started experimenting with those lines and cut them up, rearranged the structure. In that poem I also wanted to evoke almost the muscle memory of writing the poem, the feeling in my legs and the adrenaline, trying to capture it in lines. In poetry readings, I accelerate in the last verse, but in the production of this track you really accomplished what I wanted to convey. But we didn’t even have a conversation about it. You just knew and you did.

JP: Given the way you read this, it felt quite mantric and, as you say, there’s a pacing to it. I definitely wanted to bring all of that out, and make it quite orchestral in the way that it starts and develops and really pulsates. It has such a dynamic to it. And this is really what I meant when I said the album wouldn’t be with instruments, but it will sound orchestral and going into areas no one has done before.

SS: Ah, and then the next is “For Jack”, which is a love poem or eulogy for Jack Kerouac. I started writing it in the months leading up to The Town And The City Festival in Lowell, Massachusetts, which is Kerouac’s birthplace and where he is buried. So the poem’s inaugural reading was in Kerouac’s birthplace. I’m so moved by his work. He was so sensitive and spiritual. He tapped into something in the zeitgeist, expressed it in this new freeform way and he got huge praise and ridicule for it and he bore the brunt of both. He’s always affected me and I wanted to try to capture him. The word “You” is the opening of each line, addressing Kerouac directly. When I read it at City Lights, Peter Marvelis said that I had really captured [Kerouac] and what had happened to him. I think we knew we had to include this poem as part of Catalyst, because this album is kind of in the spirit of the beat writers.

JP: There was this whole movement going on in the 1950s and 1960s in literature and in music.

SS: What was the first poem that stood out to you as a young person ? I remember at primary school age, under ten, I remember Robert Louis Stevenson poems and then, after that, when I was older, WB Yeats and Coleridge. Then I discovered Bob Dylan, then Allen Ginsberg then Kerouac.

JP: Yes, I was introduced to poetry when I was at school and I realised reading poetry in the class room, en masse, that it went into another dimension and then I appreciated the metre of it, the construction. I was quite taken with the Victorian Romantic poets, Byron, Keats, Shelley. When I was in my mid-teens, I paid a lot of attention to Christopher Logue. He released an EP called Red Bird in 1959. I absolutely adored it. I adored what they were doing. It was actually jazz, with Logue reading his poems, but it wasn't freeform, it was really constructed and really exciting.

SS: I remember when you played me that.

JP: I was really impressed with the way that he read his poems, sometimes really fast and other times in a melancholic way. It meant a lot to me when I heard it. I took it in, because it was someone who had done something new and not only that it was absolutely amazing and not many people knew of it. And, of course, Christopher Logue performed at the International Poetry Incarnation in 1965 at the Royal Albert Hall.

SS: You were there that night.

JP: I was there. Allen Ginsburg performed that night with some of the other San Francisco beat poets. I had come across “Howl” and read it and when many people read that poem it changed their life and I was one of them.

SS: Same.

JP: Burroughs and Gysin experimented with cutup and I know they had done work at the BBC, literally cutting up analogue tapes and putting them together. That’s something I considered to be really moving things in a different direction from what they had been before. That was exactly how I thought about music. And at the same time, you had Krzysztof Penderecki, his ode to Threnody, to the victims of Hiroshima. That texture of the orchestra had such an effect on me, all through my work, in Led Zeppelin and what I was trying to do with the bow and sonic waves and my ideas for what we did on Catalyst. I also liked The New Music – a later album of Penderecki. Also during that time in the late 1950s early 1960s, I discovered electronic music records by John Cage, Luciano Berio, Ilhan Mimaroglu. It all had such an effect, these textures. And what they were doing in musique concrète is what I feel we were doing with Catalyst, an extension of that. The whole adventure of Catalyst was done over a few days and I’m really thrilled we did it in such a compact amount of time. We spent exactly the right time on each thing, nothing was laboured. It was all so enthusiastic and inspirational.

SS: Yes, it really was. We knew where we were coming from with this project and your passion for it was like a suit of armour. I’m so proud of what we created. I always want to do something experimental and the one thing I’ve always tried to do is keep challenging myself, push myself creatively, not keep doing the same thing over and over again. To stay “alive” and connected as an artist I think it’s important to keep being brave and do different things.

JP: Yes, that’s absolutely the way to go about one’s work.

SS: You’ve never played it safe and gone down the commercial route.

JP: I think it’s more satisfying to throw down the gauntlet to yourself, take on the challenge and then come out with something where you’ve really pushed yourself. To actually do something unique and new. Les Paul said to me, “You know what you can do? Same picture, different frame.” So you never lose the main part of your character, that’s recognised, but you adjust the framing of the picture.

SS: Wow. You’ve definitely done that.

Windy City Riot preview

Tetsuya Naito vs. Jon Moxley - This match was announced back in January, but it was only six days ago that Naito's IWGP world heavyweight championship was put on the line.

The IWGP world title is essentially a 2021 reboot of the prestigious IWGP heavyweight championship, which was introduced in 1987. Few non-Japanese wrestlers have held either version of the title; if Moxley wins here, he would join Vader, Salman Hashimikov, Riki Chosu, Scott Norton, Bob Sapp, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, Kenny Omega, Jay White, and Will Ospreay. Mox would also be the only man to have held the top men's title in WWE, AEW, and NJPW. New Japan has already coined the term "global grand slam" for this potential achievement.

A Moxley world title win would be pretty wild for New Japan. Typically the top belt is heavily protected, and mainly passed around a small group of tippy-toppy guys who are full-time on the Japanese tours. Mox is a part-time special attraction for New Japan, who mainly works one-off appearances in between his dates for AEW. Putting the title on him--outside of Japan, no less--would probably be more of a publicity stunt than a long-term direction, and I suspect they'd get it off of him ASAP. But I can see them pulling such a stunt right now, since Naito doesn't need a long title reign, and you can always switch the title at Dontaku (May 4) or Dominion (June 9) or Forbidden Door (June 30).

The match itself should be pretty damn good. Naito hasn't wowed me against SANADA or Yota Tsuji, but I figure Moxley (and a US audience starved for hot New Japan matches) can make the difference. Every near-fall should mean something. Could Moxley really win the big one? Could Naito really beat the top western wrestler outside of WWE? Could we really see an IWGP championship change hands in Chicago? Could Naito really close the show by speaking English? I don't know about you, but I'm pretty pumped for this.

My brain says Naito will keep the belt until January. My gut says I should listen to my brain. But my heart says fuck that shit, go Mox.

Nic Nemeth vs. Tomohiro Ishii - Nemeth is not defending his IWGP global title here. The original plan was for him to make his first defense against Hiroshi Tanahashi on April 6, but that got delayed by Tana's ankle injury. So I guess the idea is that Nemeth won't defend the title until Tana is ready for the shot he was promised. Of course, if Ishii wins here, he'll obviously earn himself a title match later on.

As Dolph Ziggler, Nemeth spent much of his WWE career in roughly the same level Ishii has found in New Japan, as the guy who can deliver a big match and threaten to beat the top guys without ever really making it to the top. The challenge for Nemeth now is to prove he can go beyond that role, both here with this new championship and in TNA where he's chasing their world title. We'll see how well Nemeth fares in New Japan, but for right now he's not booked against Ishii to lose.

Matt Riddle vs. Zack Sabre Jr. - This is for Riddle's NJPW World television title, so this match will have a 15-minute time limit. Riddle won the belt from Hiroshi Tanahashi in February, who won it from Sabre back in January. So this is Sabre's big chance to get the belt back, and he does want it, but he's really looking past that to get in the hunt for the IWGP world title. This should be a good mix of styles, but they'll have a hard time convincing me Sabre is going to win. Champ retains.

Eddie Kingston & ? & ? & ? vs. Gabe Kidd & ? & ? & ? - This is billed as a "riot rules" match, so there will be no tagging in or at and no disqualification, so the two teams can just brawl all over the place. Six of the eight participants will not be revealed until they make their entrances. This match came about after Kingston and Kidd went to a double count-out in January.

The structure of the match is weird because you'd think Kidd would just team with the rest of the Bullet Club War Dogs, except then it'd be 5-on-5 and David Finlay would be the focus instead of Kidd. Assuming Finlay isn't involved, it'd make sense for Kidd's partners to be Alex Coughlin, Clark Connors, and Drilla Moloney. But that's so obvious that there'd be no reason to keep it a secret if that was the actual plan. And now it seems like they couldn't do that even if they wanted to, since Coughlin abruptly announced his (legit?) retirement. I hope at least one guy on Kidd's team is a genuine surprise and a new War Dog. But I'm not confident we'll get three important surprises on his side.

I won't even hazard a guess who'll be on Eddie's team. It could be obvious choices like Homicide, Mark Briscoe, or Angel Ortiz. Or it could be guys that you'd never see coming but make sense if you know the lore. Or it could be the usual guys who work midcard matches on STRONG shows, and it'll just be like "yeah, okay, I guess."

I assume the destination is Eddie vs. Kidd for the STRONG men's title, which is the only belt Eddie has left since their last encounter, and the only one Kidd was interested in. If so, I think Kidd needs to pin the champion to end this match.

Mustafa Ali vs. Hiromu Takahashi - Ali is the TNA X division champion, but the title is not at stake in this match. This is his New Japan in-ring debut, although he appeared in a January video package to set up this match, shortly after exiting WWE. Ali is a local guy from Bolingbrook, so he should get a hero's welcome nonetheless. Hiromu has apparently brought at least one of his stuffed cats, which is a big deal to me because he doesn't use them enough these days.

This a treat for me since it'll be the first time I get to see Hiromu wrestle in person since he broke his neck in 2018. Hopefully things go better this time! Even so, I think Ali really ought to win in his first match with the company.

Jack Perry vs. Shota Umino - Perry showed up in New Japan back in January to sneak-attack Umino for no obvious reason. That led to a match on March 6, where Perry won and officially joined the House of Torture. Shota has been looking to avenge that defeat with a pinfall over Perry ever since; this may be his last chance to get it.

Perry is still under AEW contract, but he hasn't wrestled for the group since August 31, when he was suspended over a backstage altercation with CM Punk. (You might have heard about it.) That incident led to Punk being fired the day before an AEW pay-per-view in Chicago. Since then it's been an open question how Perry would be received in Chicago, and how he would be presented to handle that. I have to say, "put him in House of Torture" never would have occurred to me.

I expect Perry to pull every trick in the book to get heel heat and milk it for all it's worth. But it probably won't be a typical House of Torture match, if only because I doubt they're flying in EVIL, Dick Togo, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi, and Yoshinobu Kanemaru just to do run-ins. I suppose Perry could get the last laugh in this feud, but something tells me he'll put over Shota on his way out of New Japan, to set up his return to AEW.

El Phantasmo & Hikuleo vs. Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls vs. Tom Lawlor & Fred Rosser vs. Royce Isaacs & Jorel Nelson - ELP and Hiku issued an open challenge to defend their STRONG tag team title against any three teams. This is a standard four-way tag match, so each team gets a corner, and only two men can legally be in the ring at any time. The legal men can tag in anyone from any team. The first man to score a fall on any opponent will win the match and the title for his team.

The three challenger teams have all been mainstays of the STRONG brand, back when New Japan had a dedicated roster for taped weekly television in the US. Nowadays, though, the brand is just used for the occaisonal US-based pay-per-view, loaded up with key guys from the Japanese roster. That transition worked out well for Haste and Nicholls, who became a fixture in Japan. Not so much for former STRONG headliners Lawlor and Rosser; the story of their gradual reconciliation and alliance is barely a blip on the radar. Nelson and Isaacs are even deeper in obscurity; if this match was a three-way I don't even think they'd be on the card.

I don't see any point in changing the tag title here. The best reason to do it is if Phantasmo and Hiku are splitting up to work as singles. The next best reason would be if New Japan wants to put a new coat of paint on the STRONG brand and its titles, and they've shown no interest in doing that. I think the champs retain, and take the belts back to Japan until the next US show.

Stephanie Vaquer vs. AZM - Vaquer's STRONG women's title is up for grabs, but her CMLL women's world title is not. I'm still getting acquainted with both of these women; maybe seeing them live will really make them stick with me. I expect at some point Vaquer will drop the STRONG belt to someone on the STARDOM roster, but I don't think it'll be tonight.

Minoru Suzuki vs. Ren Narita - In January 2023, Suzuki and El Desperado unexpectedly made the save for Narita against the House of Torture. The unlikely trio fell apart in December when Narita betrayed Shota Umino to join the House of Torture. Since then we've seen Despy and Shota square off with Narita, but this is the first time he's had to face Suzuki.

Suzuki is the kind of guy who makes House of Torture bullshit more interesting, because he's arguably more evil and sadistic than the heels without needing any of their nonsense. Even so, I have to think Suzuki's role is to put over the rising young guy. But I'll be curious to see how Narita can pull this one off without a lot of run-ins.

Mina Shirakawa & Viva Van vs. Trish Adora & Alex Windsor - A week ago I couldn't even spell "Mina Shirakawa," and I didn't know anything about her. Now I know she's the woman who keeps running out to kiss Mariah May and drink champagne. So there you go.

I'm guessing the point of this match is to have a woman ready to challenge the winner of the STRONG women's title match. Adora already had her shot, and I don't expect her to get another so soon. So I'm thinking Shirakawa wins the match for her team.

Matt Vandagriff vs. Zane Jay - This is billed as a "strong survivor" match; it's a battle between two LA Dojo trainees, with the winner earning the right to be on the next US-based show. Apparently Vandagriff is 3-0 in this format. Let's just assume he improves to 4-0.

A prominent Democrat and Jewish leader who served for decades as a New York lawmaker and now leads a group committed to fighting antisemitism announced Thursday he's leaving his lifelong political party and becoming a Republican, arguing Democrats have become "radicalized" and "turned their back" on the Jewish people.

"It's official: My wife and I have switched our party affiliation from Democrat to Republican!" Dov Hikind, who spent 36 years in the New York State Assembly and later founded Americans Against Antisemitism, tweeted.

"[People] have long been asking, 'Dov, when are you gonna leave the Democratic Party?' Well, the time has come [because] the Dems have turned their back on Jews & Israel, so it's officially done!"

Hikind's tweet included a video of him and his wife, Shani, explaining their decision to join the Republican Party.

"I have been a lifelong Democrat — my family, my parents. But that's over. That's finished," said Hikind. "I have decided to register as a Republican. Unfortunately, the Democratic Party has become so radicalized … that people who are moderates or conservative Democrats are not welcomed in the Democratic Party, and I've had enough." Hikind added the Democratic Party "turns its back on its friends like Israel," criticizing the Biden administration for its policies toward the Jewish state. "I am delighted to join the Republican Party," Hikind added. "This is about sending a message — a message to the Biden administration, a message to the Democratic Party. We're losing the American people because you are not representing our values. You are not representing the Democratic Party that my parents were so proud of."

Hikind's announcement came one day after some progressive Democrats boycotted a speech by Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who addressed a joint meeting of Congress to mark the 75th anniversary of Israel's founding. During his speech, Herzog gave a thinly veiled rebuke to members of the House for recent attacks on Israel.

"Criticism of Israel must not cross the line into negation of the state of Israel's right to exist," said Herzog. "Questioning the Jewish people's right to self-determination is not legitimate diplomacy. It is antisemitism. Vilifying and attacking Jews, whether in Israel, in the United States or anywhere in the world, is antisemitism."

Over the weekend, Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., caused an uproar by calling Israel a "racist state." Though she walked back her comments somewhat, they were still met with fierce criticism from both sides of the aisle.

The furor led Republicans to force a vote on a resolution that said Israel was neither a racist nor an apartheid state. The measure was overwhelmingly supported by all but ten Democrats — nine who voted "no" and one who simply voted "present." Jayapal voted with the majority that said Israel was not racist.

On Thursday, the same day as Hikind's announcement, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y, doubled down on calling Israel an "apartheid" state.

Hikind is hardly the first former or current Democrat lawmaker to recently switch parties.

Earlier this month, Mesha Mainor, a Democrat who has represented District 56 in the Georgia House since January 2021, announced she will switch her party registration to Republican.

"When I decided to stand up on behalf of disadvantaged children in support of school choice, my Democrat colleagues didn’t stand by me," Mainor told Fox News Digital at the time. "They crucified me. When I decided to stand up in support of safe communities and refused to support efforts to defund the police, they didn't back me. They abandoned me."

In April, state Rep. Jeremy LaCombe announced he had left the Democratic Party and would be registering as a Republican. At the time, he was the second Louisiana Democrat in less than a month to switch party affiliations after Louisiana state Rep. Francis Thompson gave Republicans in the state House a supermajority by switching his party affiliation.

The "modern-day Democratic Party has become unrecognizable to me and others across the state," North Carolina State Rep. Tricia Cotham said of her decision to switch parties. "I will not be controlled by anyone."

Overall, more than one million Americans have switched their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican in the last 12 months.

Inside a US Neo-Nazi Homeschool Network With Thousands of Members | David Gilbert, Vice News

An Ohio couple has been unmasked as leaders of the neo-Nazi “Dissident Homeschool” Telegram channel that distributes lesson plans to 2,400 members.

There are may sources within this article I will be referencing and most are listed below. We need to be aware of the reality of the situation of how Nazism has become more public accepted and followed (gaining followers from birth as it is described in this specific discussion) AGAIN (yes it has been here before & has origins here that I will talk later about on this blog).

“”Dissident Homeschool” network opened a lesson plan and were greeted with the words: ‘“As Adolf Hitler wrote…”’”on the platform Telegram. VICE investigative journalists “joined the group simply by clicking on a link, though the list of members was not publicly visible.”

“Since the group began in October 2021 it has openly embraced Nazi ideology and promoted white supremacy, while proudly discouraging parents from letting their white children play with or have any contact with people of any other race. Admins and members use racist, homophobic, and antisemitic slurs without shame, and quote Hitler and other Nazi leaders daily in a channel open to the public.”

“What’s even more disturbing, however, is that the couple who run the channel are not only teaching parents how to indoctrinate their children into this fascist ideology, they’re also encouraging them to meet up in real life and join even more radical groups, which could further reinforce their beliefs and potentially push them toward violent action.”

The faces behind the curriculum and programming of this telegram homeschooling collective have recently been identified by an “antifascist research group” called “Anonymous Comrades Collective. They “published a detailed report that unmasked the Saxons as Logan and Katja Lawrence, who live in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, with their four young children.” Whose recent public contributions include their local sheriffs public website.

“The researchers were able to identify the Lawrences through biographical details they shared in the Telegram channel’s group chat and on podcast appearances. One of the key clues to identifying them came when they revealed that they owned a German Shepherd called Blondi—the same name as Hitler’s dog.”

A question to be asked is; are we seeing non-direct evidence that reflects this growing and/or growingly accepted ideology and values? Is this isolated Telegram channel or is this an obvious “sign of the times” and potentially future? Well..

Report: Antisemitic Incidents Soared to 'Historic Levels’ in 2022 | Masood Farivar, VOA News

According to the Anti-Defamation League “reported incidents of assault, vandalism and harassment targeting Jews in the United States rose to new “historic levels””. In an annual report, Audit of Antisemitic Incidents, “the Jewish civil rights organization said it documented 3,697 such incidents in 2022, up 36% from 2021, and the highest level since the group started keeping records in 1979.”

“This was the third time in the past five years during which antisemitic incidents have set a record high, the ADL said,” also elaborating it has been a “part of a five-year climb that has seen a doubling of antisemitic incidents since 2018, when a white supremacist killed 11 worshippers at a Pittsburgh synagogue in the deadliest attack on the American Jewish community in U.S. history.”

“ADL President Jonathan Greenblatt said while no single element accounted for last year’s surge in antisemitism, a number of contributing factors were at play.”

“Among them: an increase in white supremacist propaganda activity, attacks on Orthodox Jews, a spike in bomb threats made to Jewish institutions and significant increases of anti-Jewish incidents in schools and on college campuses.”

“This data confirms what Jewish communities across the country have felt and seen firsthand — and corresponds with the rise in antisemitic attitudes,” Greenblatt said in a statement. “From white nationalists to religious fanatics to radical anti-Zionists, Jewish people see a range of very real threats. You’re right about the botox, and I’m glad you’re speaking up about it. Everyone is very comfortable talking about women getting work done, but the moment you bring up that a man has gotten work done everyone is up in arms and pretends that they’re just aging well…even when the work is clearly not done well or takes away from their natural beauty. In Jensen’s case it’s both.

Prior to fall 2021, Jensen hadn’t really had any work done. A very subtle nose job (which most actors get because noses tend to look drastically different on camera vs in real life) and baby Botox (enough that he just looked like he was aging well, no major forehead freeze and or erasing of wrinkles). Then when he got back from filming The Boys, things started to go south. At the con in Dallas back in January, Jensen’s face looked puffy, tight, and shiny. At first I thought it was just the lighting and holiday weight gain, despite the fact that he had the classic case of filler face that hadn’t settled yet. Then I realized that his forehead no longer had wrinkles, his crows feet were all but gone, his little half double chin was gone (which he’s had his whole career, no matter how thin he was) and his neck was tight and smooth. You can’t explain that away with weight gain. It became even more glaringly obvious at the con in Vegas in March because he was struggling to smile in photo ops, couldn’t move his forehead, and his eyebrows were raising in that wonky way that happens when an injector does a bad job. And while his face has settled since, he’s no longer the same. Instead of ruggedly handsome, he looks waxy and lifeless. His smile looks small and forced when he does finally manage to arrange his face into one, and he can’t emote properly due to all the Botox. How does he expect to act if he can’t move his face? At this point it’s beyond mourning his unique beauty (I miss you eye crinkles and chin pudge), now it’s effects his ability to do his job.

In the era we’re living in, it’s more important than ever to acknowledge plastic surgery so that we aren’t trying to live up to an unobtainable standard of beauty. And in my opinion, plastic surgery is actually now erasing beauty because people are taking it too far and it gets rid of the features that make someone unique. Saying that Jensen has had work done isn’t attacking him the way most people think it is. And I do feel for him, I’m sure he felt pressured by both the industry and Danneel (the poster child for the plastic, gold digging housewife stereotype) into getting work done. I just wanted you to know that you’re not the only one who noticed his facial overhaul and wishes that he hadn’t done it. Sending love your way, it’s been a hard year to be a Jensen fan. He’s proven that he’s not the man we thought he was and it’s hard to reckon with.

anyway i think that its most likely gonna be a saki banner, since emu will likely be getting an event pretty soon after that. like 3-4ish months after i think. wouldn't be surprised if emu got another january event tbh.

i don't know who the fes will be though. anniversarys like giving miku fes cards so i wouldn't really be surprised if it happens again. my only issue is i can't figure out who else would get the card? are they gonna start doubling up characters and give a new fes card to someone who's already gotten one. it would be pretty interesting but see how their fragments have changed but i doubt it. are they going to do what they did first anni and do a miku/oc fes. like a miku/tsukasa fes for example. thats my current theory actually, it'd be a good way to introduce mixed festivals with saki/whoever possibly gets mixed in. i don't really know.

i think saki banner is a possibility as well. she's currently one of three characters who doesn't have a limited banner (the others being rui who could get wxs' lim banner or a mixed lim banner, and ena who's unfortunately out of luck until next rotation), and she's also due for another mixed unit event (her last one was hinamatsuri all the way back in 2021). there's a chance she could be a limited card on the next event, but if she isn't it's gonna reach a point where she's very far behind so they might do what they did with An last year and give her two lims very close together to catch her up. so for now she's my #1 pick for anniversary but we'll see how things go especially since the season 2 launch might fuck with the events idk.

the current rotation is actually set to end in january (assuming two events per month) so january emu could work if they swap her and tsukasa on the normal wxs rotation and make her the last event. i get the feeling wxs will shuffle their event order this rotation because they've done nene->rui->emu->tsukasa twice in a row now. alternatively, something i've been considering for a while now is Emu being the next wxs event (probably in summer). it's a bit close to amidst a dream but then again shiho got a february and august banner last year which is about the same gap. mainly the reason i've considered this is because of shuffling the event order and also bc they're very clearly holding back something with rui (read:

) and prsk has a habit of pushing important plots back (like the Nagi lore), but ultimately i feel it could go either way between rui and emu does any of this make sense i'm so sorry for writing a massive paragraph about literally one sentence you said

i agree i wouldn't be surprised by fes 3 miku but then there's the question of who to pair her with. kaito and meiko don't have fes but you'd think they'd get paired together, right? so maybe they'll be the anniversary fes this year but also it's an important anniversary so miku seems more likely. i doubt they'll give any of the human characters Fes 2s before some even have their fes 1s, so I'm ruling that out as well. my only other thought is Saki being a fes card instead of being the event card. mainly because they kinda fucked shit up by putting ichika with miku so now saki has no one to pair with unless they give ichika a fes 2 at the same time saki gets fes 1, which offsets the balance. also i think mixed fes banners is a really cool idea but i feel they would only start doing that once everyone has their fes 1 card.

Today is April 9, 2023 in Philippine time.

2023 has been a year of growing my success building my financial strength and reflecting on my personality. But before all of that why I wanted to share this story of my rise above my broke era is that I want to humble myself and be really thankful for God or any higher being that was guiding me along the way.

Year 2022 a summary.

2021 I was at job that pays as little as 8-12k a month and I was trying to make ends meet from my schooling, my rent and my daily needs. I opted to find a job that sounds futuristic - I switched to an online job. This was one of the best decision I had in my life looking back. 2022 I was having double job, I invested on tech to keep my two jobs and it was working. Since one of my job was paying high enough to cover both of my jobs I continued on even though I know it was ruining my physical and mental health. I was an HR Director and a web designer on the side. I decided to leave my job immediately when I found myself crying and dragging myself to work on a daily basis. It was literally killing me.

I did not have any back-up job or whatsoever. All along I was relying on my savings. The wrong turn was I was using it for my leisure and not looking for a new job. Anyway, I got broke and went into different loan sharks to make ends meet. This was another and one of my biggest downfall ever.

I landed a job after 6 months from a finance company in the US. It did not pay me well at first but I did not have much choice. Slowly, I was able to pay my depths and gaining back my social activities but everything seems to be a blurr moving forward 2022 from there then - I kept going out, partying, being with strangers to have fun and did illegal things on the side up until the last day of December.

It did not really affect my financial but I know I was still in depth.

from June of 2022 till November 30 - I was juggling three jobs. Just to pay everything already. I eas making my life work, I was paying what I owed people and banks.

Until I decided to let go of one job that really helped me rise up. I could not keep it due to the stress it was giving me on a daily basis. I kept my fiance job due to its flexibility in working terms as a digital nomad and one job that I got as a blessing from my friend which was a direct hire in Texas, USA.

Since December I was earning alot more than I was expecting. Slowly, I was rising from my era of being broke.

2023.

My salary increased by 10,000 pesos in finance and the other job paid as it is but I had alot of extra hours worked so, I was living comfortably by January. I was able to buy the phone that I wanted, I got a free PC from my company, I was paying my own place and bills without anyone helping and I get go help my boyfriend while he kept going in fulfilling his dreams in being a doctor here in the Philippines.

When my boyfriend passed the board exams. We promised that 2023 was a year of us fulfilling our dreams, meeting our goals and establishing our professional career while we were fixing our relationship and making our bond more stronger including our family.

2023.

Looking back at my 2022 and comparing my situation now, I am really blessed. God or any higher being that helped me out of that dark hole, humbles me every single time. I also want to take credit for never giving up on the situations I was in. I kept going. I kept myself from being humble without losing my stand on my personality at work.

I had so much day and reason to give up already in life but there is always that voice "matatapos din to", " I will have the life that I want" and " kaya ko to". Those simple motivation in my head really kept me going.

My boyfriend landed a job, I kept going and earning. Both of us is building our financial stability and strength, earning together, saving, treating ourselves on the side and finally hindi na kami magugutom.

I remember, before halos wala talaga kami makaen. We needed to tipid the things we have. We relied on the little money we have to eat on a daily basis. But now, we have abundance of money, food, other supplies and we can treat ourselves and or family. We are so lucky!

I know we are still starting but as early as now I just want to be thankful with all the blessings I am receiving, my boyfriend is receiving and I hope this continues and everything we manifested will be soon be true.

From negative balances to an abundance as of today. I can't help shed a tear or cry a river of tears on this journey. It truly is a miracle and just really leaves me in an awe on how I did everything.

Thursday’s public hearing by the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol brought to its logical conclusion the story of Trump’s attempt to overturn our democracy. After four years of destroying democratic norms and gathering power into his own hands, the former president tried to overturn the will of the voters. Trump was attacking the fundamental concept on which this nation rests: that we have a right to consent to the government under which we live.

Far from rejecting the idea of minority rule after seeing where it led, Republican Party lawmakers have doubled down.

They have embraced the idea that state legislatures should dominate our political system, and so in 2021, at least 19 states passed 34 laws to restrict access to voting. On June 24, in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision, the Supreme Court said that the federal government did not have the power, under the Fourteenth Amendment, to protect the constitutional right to abortion, bringing the other rights that amendment protects into question. When Democrats set out to protect some of those rights through federal legislation, Republicans in Congress overwhelmingly voted to oppose such laws.

In the House, Republicans voted against federal protection of an individual’s right to choose whether to continue or end a pregnancy and to protect a health care provider’s ability to provide abortion services: 209 Republicans voted no; 2 didn’t vote. That’s 99% of House Republicans.

They voted against the right to use contraception: 195 out of 209 Republicans voted no; 2 didn’t vote. That’s 96% of House Republicans.

They voted against marriage equality: 157 out of 204 Republicans voted no; 7 didn’t vote. That’s 77% of House Republicans.

They voted against a bill guaranteeing a woman’s right to travel across state lines to obtain abortion services: 205 out of 208 Republicans voted no; 3 didn’t vote. That’s 97% of House Republicans.

Sixty-two percent of Americans believe abortion should be legal. Seventy percent support gay marriage. More than 90% of Americans believe birth control should be legal. I can’t find polling on whether Americans support the idea of women being able to cross state lines without restrictions, but one would hope that concept is also popular. And yet, Republican lawmakers are comfortable standing firmly against the firm will of the people. The laws protecting these rights passed through the House thanks to overwhelming Democratic support but will have trouble getting past a Republican filibuster in the Senate.

When he took office, Democratic president Joe Biden recognized that his role in this moment was to prove that democracy is still a viable form of government.

Rising autocrats have declared democracy obsolete. They argue that popular government is too slow to respond to the rapid pace of the modern world, or that liberal democracy’s focus on individual rights undermines the traditional values that hold societies together, values like religion and ethnic or racial similarities. Hungarian president Viktor Orbán, whom the radical right supports so enthusiastically that he is speaking on August 4 in Texas at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), has called for replacing liberal democracy with “illiberal democracy” or “Christian democracy,” which will explicitly not treat everyone equally and will rest power in a single political party.

Biden has defended democracy across the globe, accomplishing more in foreign diplomacy than any president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Less than a year after the former president threatened to withdraw the U.S. from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken pulled together the NATO countries, as well as allies around the world, to stand against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The new strength of NATO prompted Sweden and Finland to join the organization, and earlier this month, NATO ambassadors signed protocols for their admission. This is the most significant expansion of NATO in 30 years.

That strength helped to hammer out a deal between Russia and Ukraine with Turkey and the United Nations yesterday to enable Ukraine to export 22 million tons of grain and Russia to export grain and fertilizer to developing countries that were facing famine because of Russia’s blockade of Ukrainian ports. An advisor to the Ukrainian government called the agreement “a major win for Ukraine.” When a Russian attack on the Ukrainian port of Odesa today put that agreement under threat, U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink called the attack “outrageous.”

Biden has also defended democracy at home, using the power of the federal government to strengthen the ability of working Americans to support their families. As soon as Biden took office, Democrats passed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan to rebuild the economy. It worked. The U.S. has added 10 million new jobs since Biden took office, and unemployment has fallen to 3.6%. That strong economy has meant higher tax revenues that, combined with the end of pandemic spending, have resulted in the budget deficit (the amount by which the government is operating in the red each year and thus adding to the national debt) dropping considerably during his term.

The strong economy has also led to roaring inflation, fed in part by supply chain issues and high gas prices. During the pandemic, as Americans turned to ordering online at the same time that factories closed down, shipping prices went through the roof. In the past year or so, outdated infrastructure at U.S. ports has slowed down turnaround while a shortage of truckers has slowed domestic supply chains. Biden’s administration worked to untangle the mess at ports by getting commitments from businesses and labor to extend hours, and launched new programs to increase the number of truckers in the country.

While oil companies are privately held and thus have no obligation to lower their prices rather than pocket the record profits they have enjoyed over the past year, Biden has nonetheless tried to ease gas prices by releasing oil from the strategic reserve and by urging allies to produce more oil for release onto the world market. Gas prices have declined for the past month and now average $4.41 a gallon, down from a high of more than $5 last month.

Last month, on June 25, Biden signed into law the first major gun safety bill in almost 30 years, having pulled together the necessary votes despite the opposition of the National Rifle Association. On July 21, he signed the bipartisan FORMULA (which stands for “Fixing Our Regulatory Mayhem Upsetting Little Americans”—I’m not kidding) Act to drop tariffs on baby formula for the rest of the year to make it easier to get that vital product in the wake of the closure of the Sturgis, Michigan, Abbott Nutrition plant for contamination, which created a national shortage. The Biden administration has also organized 53 flights of formula into the country, amounting to more than 61 million 8-ounce bottles.

While we have heard a lot about Biden’s inability to pass the Build Back Better part of his infrastructure plan because of the refusal of Republicans and Democratic senator Joe Manchin (WV) to get on board, Biden nonetheless shepherded a $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill through this partisan Congress, investing in roads, bridges, public transportation, clean energy, and broadband. Last Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris announced that 1 million households have signed up for credits to enable them to get broadband internet, a program financed by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Love or hate what Biden has done, he has managed to pull a wide range of countries together to stand against Russian president Vladimir Putin’s authoritarian attack in Ukraine, and he has managed get through a terribly divided Congress laws to make the lives of the majority better, even while Republicans are rejecting the idea that the government should reflect the will of the majority. That is no small feat.

Whether it will be enough to prove that democracy is still a viable form of government is up to us.

Morgan Wallen:

Morgan Wallen has now become quite the household name and is lauded as a country artist that will definitely be listed amongst the greats. Morgan’s journey began when he auditioned for The Voice USA. He introduced himself as a rock artist on the show and he was eliminated quite early on. A year after that he managed to get signed by a small label under which he released an extended play. He seemed to let go of the rock genre and dive into country music instead. The release didn’t make much noise, however him and his team were persistent and continued sending bigger labels his demos. Not long after Big Loud Records signed him.

Morgan then began collaborating with big names in country music. He was opening for the likes of Florida Georgia Line and then writing songs for artists like Jason Aldean. That then led to the beginning of his debut albums release journey. The lead single didn’t quite catch on, however ‘Up Down’ which featured FLG managed to make a mark. After that it was only up from their for Morgan. Every single released since has been quite the commercial success. His debut ‘If I Know Me’ debuted at number 72 on the Billboard 200 chart, but it eventually managed to peak at number 10 as his popularity continued to grow. The album was a good effort showcasing his potential as an artist and songwriter. His emotive quality that is vocal possessed was a rare find and it really elevated the feelings behind the lyrics he was singing.

Then he started releasing new music which was leading up to the release of his sophomore album during the start of the pandemic. The singles were performing quite well and buzz around his next record continued to build. He then went on to make quite the reckless decisions when he was caught partying it up with fans were he even made out with college girls. He was booked to perform on Saturday Night Live the day after everything came to light, however SNL cancelled the performance. Morgan then posted an apology video where he seemed genuine in what he was saying. A lot of his fellow artists showed support and stood by his side during this moment. He also in his apology video stated he’d be stepping away from it all for a while in order to reflect on his shortcomings. He took a break from social media and put promoting his music to a side for a moment. SNL then invited him back to perform later on in the year and he then returned back to his normality.

Then in January of 2021 he released his second record ‘Dangerous’ which was a double album. It ended up debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 with a really good sales figure. The album was met with a lot of love from fans and critics alike. The album held on to the top spot for the following weeks. Then all of a sudden someone had sent TMZ a clip of Morgan Wallen saying a racial slur (the ’N’ word). This led to him being called out for it and as usual with stan twitter trending various hashtags saying he was cancelled and over. His label suspended his contract indefinitely, a lot of radio stations removed his music from rotation and award shows barred him from the awards cycle. Spotify had also initially removed his music from playlists, however a week later they re-added his music to the playlists. However despite that instead of having a negative impact on his popularity or career it actually grew to a new height. His music swarmed the iTunes chart and it led to aiding ‘Dangerous’ to continue its grasp on the number one spot on the Billboard 200. The album went on to become the biggest selling album of 2021. He went silent on social media and took a moment away from it all again.

He eventually came back with an apology similar to the one the year before and here is where it became hard to take it as a genuine one. He obviously didn’t think that he’d be caught or that someone would have filmed him in the moment and shared it with the world. He did tell his fans not to excuse his behaviour and that he would work with organisations that tackle issues like racism. He even donated to various charities. Then everything seemed to have been forgotten. He also claimed that his indulgence in drinking was a part of the problem and that he’d work on staying away from it. He was then invited onto Good Morning America where he was interviewed in regards to his use of the slur and what he has learnt from everything that transpired since. His main take was that he was ignorant and that he spoke loosely with that particular friendship circle. Morgan didn’t really have anything worthwhile to offer in the interview and on most part was trying his hardest to seem sorry. What he should have done in that moment is use the opportunity to educate his cohort on racism and the stigma around the slur he had used. That it is unacceptable regardless of how and when it is used. Since the majority of his fanbase didn’t seem to find any sort of issue with him using the word and they still seem to believe that it is just a word.

His fans have continued to back him and defend his actions. They excuse him using the racial slur by saying that it is just a word. That if black people use the word then they should be able to as well and that they aren’t using it in a derogatory way, but as a joke between friends. They clearly don’t understand the stigma and connotation behind the term. It has been used as a way to belittle and be derogatory towards black people. It still to this day is used in that way, those that believe it no longer is live a very sheltered life. Those claiming it is just a word disregard its significance because they have never in their life experienced any sort of real oppression. So they find it difficult to know the weight words have. If you aren’t someone who is black or someone who’s went through what they have, you have no say on the matter. Why is it that you are so keen on using the word? To then try and silence people by telling them that they are either ‘sensitive’ or ‘snowflakes’ is rather disgusting. They keep saying ‘Haters failed to cancel Morgan Wallen’, when the aim is never to cancel someone. It is for accountability, that people deserve to be held accountable for what they say or do. Cancelling someone doesn’t provide opportunity for growth, however accountability does. It doesn’t matter whether something is done behind closed doors or in front of an audience. The weight of your actions are the same. Yes when you are famous it feels heightened due to the fact that you are someone who has a big audience and thus have a responsibility to be a positive influence. That you need to be aware of how your actions will then have various implications.

People claim that people weren’t so easily offended back in the day as they are now. Back then social media didn’t exist, so they didn’t have the chance to voice their thoughts for a greater audience to see. So it isn’t much different it is just that now with social media things have the ability to reach a bigger number of people, thus things seem more heightened. We should however give people a chance and help educate them rather than attacking them. As that is what will allow for positive progress to occur. Morgan Wallen should be given another chance and it on some part has been given to him. He is a talented artist with a successful career ahead of him. His career is back on track now, his record deal is no longer suspended and award shows have unbanned him. He has since done a string of commercially successful collaborations and he is slated to perform at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards. Hopefully he has truly learnt from his mistakes and doesn’t make anymore.

Another thing in relation to the above is that we’ve seen that there is a difference in how great the implications are based on gender. Female artists seem to suffer a greater deal than their male counterparts. You look at artists like Camila Cabello or Sabrina Claudio who even to this day are still being called out for their past mistakes. Double standards seem to find a way into everything and anything. You look at Lil Nas X and his Islamophobic tweets. No one held him accountable for it and neither did he apologise. His sexuality and his openness from the start of his career seemed to overshadow that. Making it an exempt card for him. There are more examples of similar instances. You also would have noticed that it is female artists that often speak out in these moments when their fellow members of the industry act out. The males on most part stay quiet.

Final Battle preview

Chris Jericho vs. Claudio Castagnoli - This is for the ROH men's world title. Jericho won the belt from Castagnoli in July, and although Claudio has since beaten Jericho in non-title situations, Jericho pinned him last month in a four-way title bout. So to get this one-on-one rematch, Claudio has agreed to join the Jericho Appreciation Society if he loses. Those stakes seem more important given that Claudio's current stable, the Blackpool Combat Club, is at a critical moment following the betrayal of William Regal.

The JAS and BCC have been feuding since May, when BCC's Jon Moxley backed up for his friend Eddie Kingston, whose issues with the group went back to November 2021. I think everyone's hoping this will finally end the saga. However, I'm hard-pressed to think of a "babyface is forced to join a heel group" storyline that ended well. If Claudio joins the JAS, the BCC will look like idiots if they don't try to get him out.

The other big issue is Jericho's current gimmick of dishonoring Ring of Honor by not respecting what the title stands for. So he does basic heel stuff like he always does, except Ian Riccaboni has to tell us "THAT ISN'T ADHERING TO THE CODE OF HONOR!" ROH was doing that lazy formula long before Tony Khan bought the company, and I was hoping Jericho would have a new spin on it, but that hasn't panned out.

Ever since Jericho won the title I expected him to lose it here. But now that the day has come I feel like the story hasn't peaked yet. I'd be fine with getting it over with, but I can't help wondering if there's some bigger name waiting in the wings to fight Jericho in the name of honor. In any event, I'm picking Castagnoli to win just to speak it into existence.

Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler vs. Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe - This is a double dog collar match for the ROH tag team championship. FTR (Dax and Cash) are the defending champions; their AAA and IWGP titles aren't on the line. Each participant will be chained by the neck to one of their opponents. There are no rules and tag partners don't have to tag in and out of the ring. The match ends when one man scores a pinfall or submission on either opponent.

FTR captured the ROH tag title from the Briscoes in April and won a rematch in July, so the Briscoes have a deep hole to climb out of. The stip is clearly meant to favor the Briscoes, even though it'll probably still be a back-and-forth war right up until the last thirty seconds or so. Going 0-3 against FTR would be pretty disastrous for the Briscoes, especially considering they're supposed to be under contract but they can't appear on AEW TV, so being a top ROH tag team is kind of all they have.

It feels like FTR's triple-champ run could be winding down. They failed to capture the AEW tag title on December 7. They're slight underdogs here. On December 28 they defend the AAA title against Dragon Lee & Dralistico. It's widely expected they'll defend the IWGP title on January 4. It'd be a hell of a story if they made it through without dropping any belts, but it might be a better story to recover from an epic collapse.

Daniel Garcia vs. Wheeler YUTA - Garcia is defending the ROH pure title. This is the third match between these two for the title--Yuta beat Garcia to retain on July 23, but Garcia captured the belt on September 7. So this is the rubber match.

The pure title is defended under pure rules. Closed-fist strikes to the head are illegal, but you just get a warning on the first punch, so that one's basically free. Each competitor can only use the ropes to break a pinfall or submission three times; after that, the only way to be out of bounds is to exit the ring altogether. A championship defended under these rules is always award to the winner, even if the match ends by count-out or disqualification.

I could live with either guy winning, but Garcia really doesn't need this belt. It's cute to have a technician like Garcia hold this particular title while doing the whole "it's not pro wrestling, it's sports entertainment" bit. But if there was anything left to do with that, it's been covered by Jericho holding the world title. Whoever loses this match will need to pick himself up and figure out what to do next, and I'd prefer to see Garcia do that for a change.

Mercedes Martinez vs. Athena - Martinez is putting the ROH women's world title at stake. She spent 16 weeks on the shelf due to an undisclosed injury (which I suspect was a concussion). Martinez's big return was to confront Athena when she took liberties with a beaten opponent and also smacked the shit out of referee Aubrey Edwards. I got the feeling Athena was slowly turning heel, but as soon as she hit Aubrey she was basically the devil.

I guess Martinez could retain but that would really kill Athena's momentum, so I think a title change is the best way to go. Only problem with that is you'd have yet another ROH titleholder who has decided honor in wrestling is a joke. But if it means I get to see more of Athena clobberin' everybody then I'm cool with that. Unless she's clobberin' Aubrey. Don't do that.

Samoa Joe vs. Juice Robinson - Juice has challenged Joe for the ROH television title; Joe's AEW TNT title is not at stake. I was expecting Joe to face Wardlow on the show to blow off their feud, so this is an odd detour. But I'm a big fan of Joe and Juice so I'll take it.

Juice's video package where he issued the challenge sounded like a babyface promo, which is kind of weird since he dramatically turned heel a few months ago in New Japan. I'm curious which of these two the fans will side with. I would be shocked if Joe drops the TV title, unless Wardlow does a run-in.

Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland vs. Shane Taylor & JD Griffey - Taylor and Griffey each teamed with Lee back in like 2014-2015; apparently the story is they're mad at him for leaving them behind like he did to Swerve Strickland on November 19. I'm not clear on why Lee is teaming with Swerve here; you'd think he could and would choose literally anyone else to be his partner.

Taylor was a rising force in ROH just before Tony Khan bought it, so it'll be interesting if he's sticking around beyond this one match. But I don't think his team can win unless the story is Strickland walking away at a critical moment to screw over Lee.

Dalton Castle & Brandan Tate & Brent Tate vs. Brian Cage & Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona - Castle and The Boys are defending the ROH trios title. Cage and the Gates of Agony were brought together by Tully Blanchard back in April, but when Prince Nana took over the group in July they became the latest incarnation of The Embassy. I would expect Castle's team to retain unless they're leaving the company, and I don't get the impression they are.

Rush & Dralistico vs. Blake Christian & AR Fox - OK, so Rush created La Faccion Ingobernable after he left CMLL, so he could do the Los Ingobernables gimmick in other promotions. His brothers Dragon Lee and Dralistico joined LFI. Then Rush came to AEW where Andrade El Idolo joined LFI. Then Rush and Andrade turned on Lee on an AEW show in August. Now Rush and Dralistico are teaming up. On December 28 in Mexico, Dralistico is teaming with Lee. So I'm a little confused where Dralistico's loyalties lie. This is probably a squash match for Rush; the only question is whether he beats up his brother and rips his mask off.

Jeff Cobb vs. Mascara Dorada - This is scheduled for the pre-show. You may remember Dorada as Gran Metalik in WWE's Lucha House Party. Cobb has been in Japan a lot lately so I'm surprised to see him popping in here. I hope he sticks around. After he clobbers Dorada, that is.

Trish Adora vs. Willow Nightingale - Another pre-show match. Adora is the pan-Afrikan world diaspora champion but the title is not at stake. Adora is one of those names I mostly hear when people are talking about hot indy acts you need to watch for. I heard the same hype for Willow before she made it on AEW television this year, and she's great. So hopefully now it's Trish's turn. I'd like to see the winner get to challenge the winner of Martinez/Athena, which is probably more doable if it's Willow.

Matt Taven & Mike Bennett vs. Dante Martin & Darius Martin - More pre-show stuff. Taven and Bennett are The Kingdom, returning to ROH after it was shut down one year ago. Dante and Darius are Top Flight, which was heating up on AEW until Darius had a string of injuries, and then Dante got red hot as a solo act. I'm real glad all four of these guys are here and doing okay after their respective hassles. This is probably a showcase for Taven and Bennett, who made a splashy debut in AEW but haven't really done anything since.

Matt Menard & Angelo Parker vs. Eli Isom & Cheeseburger - Even more pre-show action. Menard and Parker are kind of the job guys in the Jericho Appreciation Society, but that still puts them way ahead of the Shinobi Shadow Squad in the pecking order. CB and Isom are here to remind us they exist before they lose.

I have read quite a few fics where Wilbur is a zombie but still has his human mind aus. Which I totally get why Wilbur is picked for the zombie role but I am switching it up.

So here Wilbur is human and the rest of sbi are zombies.

The gist of it is zombies have been slowly evolving so they regain there human mind.

Techno is the 1st to find Wilbur. He is very curious to how Wilbur survived so sticks around to see what he can do. Turns out even through has no fighting skills. It is a miracle he has survived at all. Techno then becomes attached so sticks around to keep Wilbur safe.

Next up is Tommy who Wilbur finds and declares him as his little brother. Tommy is very weirded out but hey he is not complaining (well he is but he is not leaving which he is free to do).

Techno and Tommy argue a bit but they both agree to help keep Wilbur safe.

Phil is last to meet Wilbur. He gives one look at the 3 of them and is like "I will regret this but I am watching over you guys."

Now Techno, Tommy and Phil think they are the only zombie of the group.

After finding out that the only human of the group is Wilbur, they make a plan to get Wilbur to one of the last human settlements.

They do care about Wilbur but you know Wilbur will notice something once he starts to age and they don't. And Wilbur should be with his own kind.

Through once they bring up the idea, Wilbur turns down the offer saying that they don't need a settlement. "The SBI can take down any zombie" (well 3/4s can. Wilbur is really not much of a fighter. And 3/4 can afford to take risks since they don't need to worry about bites)

Another thing is the zombie part of SBI have no idea how long it has been since the start of the zombie apocalypse. They have a lot of missing memories. All they know is that one day they regain their human minds and have been wandering ever since.

One day they learn from Wilbur is has been 14 years. They are surprised it has been over a decade. They also quickly realize that Wilbur was really young when the apocalypse started.

Techno wonders how Wilbur could go 14 years without killing any zombies unless he had a group before hand. And while Wilbur does seem like he has been alone for a long time, not 14 years alone.

So after some poking Wilbur spills his past. He was part of a settlement that he was lucky enough to find not long after the start of the apocalypse.

He was never much of a fighter so he stayed in the walls. But food was running low and since he never fought the zombies he was thrown out along with some others. He is the only survivor of that group.

Again he was lucky since when the last of his group died, he quickly found the place where Techno found him. Which had plenty of food and a good defense. Wilbur was on his last few days of few when Techno found him.

That is why he does not want to go to settlement since he does not think he will be accepted since he still can't kill a zombie. He has been surviving on pure luck.

He thinks he finally has a group he can stay with since 3/4s are really good at fighting zombies. Through he is still worried since they take so many risks.

So now 3/4 has to think of a new plan.

That is really all I got.

Memories

I have an idea for the Double Life smp.

So you know the headcanon that only winners remember. Addition to the whole sharing health/lives/pain thing, those soulbond to the previous winners also remember. So Scar and Pearl also remember the previous games they were in. Something about their souls being bond means that whatever is stopping anyone but the winners to remember does not work. Either it being accidental or on purpose.

They only remember once they been officially soulbond which does not happen until sometime after they spawn onto the server. So neither Pearl or Scar were near each other.

Now I can imagine this going two way.

One) They get all the memories at once

They both hiss from the pain of getting all of their memories. Pearl is alone so no one sees. Bdubs and Etho are near Scar but they just assume it was bad timing with whoever is Scar's soulmate is.

Scar goes along with it since he is very confused. It does not seem that Bdubs and Etho didn't get their memories back so he keeps quiet while sorting his thoughts. Pearl after running into a few other players also keeps quiet about the memory thing,

They both assume they are the only person on the server to remember the past games. Through they don't know why they remember.

Scar running around and obvious could be seen trying to not focus on the memories. Gets harder when he finds out Grian is his soulmate.

Pearl was the same. Trying to not thinking about the memories

This makes the whole Scott saying he did not want to be soulmates with Pearl extra painful since she remembers Last Life.

Scar is both happy that he and Grian are together again. They were a good team back in Third Life. Through he is wary since Last Life could have been better for the two.

Grian and Scott don't really find out until later on in the series. Scott for obvious reason. Grian after awhile feels like something is up with Scar but does not know what.

Grian finds out either when Scar makes a comment that references the past games that hits a little too close to home. That he couldn't have said unless he remember. or Scar slips up and just blurts something out that is pretty much a huge "I remember" flag.

Scott learns of it once Grian asks if Pearl remembers the past games. Scott panics both from the fact that Pearl could remember but also the fact that the whole choosing to be with Cleo must have really hurt. Yeah he is angry at Pearl for going into the nether and not looking for him. But knowing that she also remembers does hurt.

Pearl would be happy to hear that she is not the only one who remembers but also hurt that Scott still choose Cleo over her since he remembers the past games.

2) The two slowly get memories back.

They at first get a strong familiar vibe but they brush it off. As they go on they get flashes of memories of the past games. When they rest, they get a whole bunch of memories.

Here Grian would notice sooner since he would notice something is wrong right away and demand answers.

Again Grian tells Scott and same thing as the previous option.

A lot of Pearl angst since she is going through this alone. Even if she tags along with another pair, she does not know how to explain it and without Scott (or Grian) then no one can pick up that these are past memories.

Either option does lead to some interesting talks

Scar asking why Grian acted the way he did in Last life if he remember Third Life. Grian having to explain how much it hurt him to kill Scar.

Scott and Pearl having basically the same talk just about the current season.

Also adding Cleo in the mix since she is not soulbond to Scott. She does not remember and Scott does not know how to explain it to her. So Scott having to explain things to Pearl without Cleo knowing or thinking that he is leaving her.

Another question would be what would happen to the memories if they don't win. Grian and Scott will always remember since they won. There is no question about that. But Pearl and Scar aren't winners so if the memory pairs (as I am calling them) don't win then do Peral and Scar forget when the game is over.

Also what happens if they eat a golden apple. Do they forget or since whatever is blocking the memories is gone, they still remember.

Trust is hard when you question everything

So I was thinking. Dream’s whole plan of being locked up in the prison could really be the final straw for people’s view of Sam. Right now it is not the best given that Dream escaped and killed Ranboo but finding out that Dream wanted to be locked up would seal the deal.

It would not be hard for people to think that Sam was in on the plan. He hid that Dream was still in jail after Techno escaped, he killed Ranboo which could be seen as hom doing it on Dream’s order since it was out of left field, and same with Tommy being stuck in there. Also add the fact that Sam built the prison so thinking he was in on the plan is reasonable.

No one knows how much Dream planned and if anything happened that he did not plan. He wanted to go into the prison so this would leave fear that everything that they did was just what Dream wanted to happen. Even though logically that would be impossible, fear is a powerful thing.

Tommy would take a big hit since he has been betrayed before so thinking that Sam was never on his side would really hurt. Might have a hard time trusting anyone since it seems like Dream’s influence is everywhere.

Sam really is screwed since if he was not following orders from Dream then he did everything of his free will. Which is not any better. People would be asking Sam questions so they might really see just how bad the prison is. So either he was okay with building everything since he knew it would be Dream in there or he was okay with anyone being put in these conditions. Neither really makes him look good. He has very little to defend himself and what he can show that he was not working with Dream, does not make him a good person.

Sam himself would have his thoughts spiraling. He would be questioning his every action. How much was what Dream wanted? Should he have made different choices or did Dream wanted things to be different? People hate him even more and they have no reason to trust him anymore. Was killing Ranboo pointless and not needed? Did Dream want that?

Add in Punz working with Dream from the start, people’s trust in each other would be low. Who knows who else is working for Dream. Maybe not as bad as Tommy since Dream does not like to play with them as much as he does with Tommy but trust would be a hard thing.

And with lack of trust comes great opportunities. A perfect time to strike. Dream is just smirking from under his mask as he watches everything from the shadows.

It is a very interesting thought. Don’t know if this is the path that the smp will take but it is pretty cool. And makes sense. One would question everything after a reveal like that. It is that thought process of “Should I do this or did x already think I will do it? Or have they thought that I would figure out that they figured out I would do it so planned for me doing something else” If that makes sense. C!Dream really get into people’s heads so chaos is to be expected. Everyone is questioning how much of their actions has Dream planned out.

Nether Hub Books

So was watching Hermitcraft and I love the Nether Hub. I have a small hc about it.

Now books can be crafted but they are blank until they are written in or they get an enchantment on them.

Now Tango did not want to fill the library with empty books. He wanted it to be like a real library. So he brings some of his books in but obviously he does not have enough. So he asks the Hermits.

So the Nether Hub starts out with little books but as the server goes on, it is filled with more and more books.

Some books are stuff that the Hermits don't really read anymore. Some are manuals like Redstone 101 or how to use gradients in your builds.

Sometimes Hermits will leave some enchanted books that they don't need/want. Some books are in other languages,

Some Hermits will order some books they think the other will enjoy or get copies so multiply hermits can read the same book.

Some Hermits will read in the library. Others will take them out.

And at the very end of the season, the Hermits will look through the books and take the ones they want. And leave behind the rest of the books.

Dream No

So you know how Punz told Dream "Let's not kill Phil since that is dumb" and George was like "Dream your plan sucks since Sapnap won't do what you want"

Pretty much everyone close to Dream knows that while he is smart and can think on his feet, he has the tendency to think of crazy ideas that he really shouldn't do. So people take turns being the "Dream no" person.

Now either Sapnap knows this or he also comes up with crazy ideas/supported the crazy ideas so he does not see anything wrong with Dream's line of thinking. (I can see it going both ways)

Techno after being in prison with Dream has learned this about Dream so has become one of the "Dream no" people.

Punz is really happy for the help since he was the sole "Dream no" person for a long time.

So when it is revealed that Punz was helping Dream the whole time, can see one of the people who was close to Dream say "Of course. How could we not see it? Someone needed to be the "Dream No" person. No way Dream did not do some dumb and crazy plan "

Punz: Well he wanted to go into the prison so take that as you will

Someone: Why didn't you talk him out of it

Punz: Listen I have been the "Dream No" person for months alone. Only recently adding Techno but he was not always there. Same with Ranboo. It is hard to stop him after awhile. This is why the "Dream No" person is rotated so no one gets burnt out.

Everyone else confused since they see Dream as this big scary villain (which to be fair he is) so it is a shock to hear that he needs a person telling him no.

Cue stories of ideas that Dream had as a kid

Dream claims that all his ideas were logically and served a purpose. Everyone wonders how he lived this long
