WEDNESDAY – YOU REAP WHAT YOU WOE
[Caption: gifs from Netflix’s Wednesday. Wednesday talks face to face with her mother, looking straight ahead. She tells an increasely dejected Morticia, calm and collected, almost glaring at her mother: “I’ll never live up to your legacy here, so why try? I win the Poe Cup, you claimed it four times. I join the fencing team, you captained it. Why would you send me somewhere I could only ever exist in your shadow?” Morticia, saddened, tells her “It’s not a competition, Wednesday.”; she replies “Everything is a competition, Mother.”]

"Hey Aaron, how has your week been?"
Well LET ME JUST TELL YA
Saturday 10/1: I come home from work to learn that my brother bought a house and that we're moving to a different city, meaning I'm going to be jobless again.
Sunday 10/2: I woke up with a 99-degree fever. I think ill be fine so I just go to work. News flash was not fine. It kept getting worse and worse and I had to go home early. When I get home my temp is now 103. I proceed to spend the rest of the night miser
Monday 10/3: I wake up. The fever is gone, but I have a MASSIVE headache. I decided to call off work that day. At the end of the day, though, I feel fine. No fever.
Tuesday 10/4: I go to work and have a normal day. After my lunch break (which ended at 6 pm) I'm suddenly FREEZING again. Literally every hair on my body is standing straight up. Im aching all over. When I get home, suddenly my fever is back. That night I'm MISERABLE. I end up swallowing air from my CPAP machine, which if you know you know, is uncomfortable as HELL.
Wednesday 10/5: I wake up and the fever is here to stay apparently. I'm miserable all day. Im either shivering so bad that my teeth are chattering or sweating so bad u can see it in my shirt. At one point, my fever was so high that my thermometer wouldn't even give me a number. it just said "HI" eventually though, my fever breaks and I feel fine by the end of the night.
Today 10/6: I wake up shivering so hard that im shaking and my teeth. Fever gets up to 102 at LEAST. But eventually around 1pm, it breaks. But will it break for good this time????
WE SHALL WAIT AND SEEEEEEE

By EDITH M. LEDERER Updated 9:11 PM PST, March 8, 2024 UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Legal equality for women could take centuries as the fight for gender equality is becoming an uphill struggle against widespread discrimination and gross human human rights abuses, the United Nations chief said on International Women’s Day. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told a packed U.N. commemoration Friday that “a global backlash against women’s rights is threatening, and in some cases reversing, progress in developing and developed countries alike.” The most egregious example is in Afghanistan, he said, where the ruling Taliban have barred girls from education beyond sixth grade, from employment outside the home, and from most public spaces, including parks and hair salons. At the current rate of change, legal equality for women could take 300 years to achieve and so could ending child marriage, he said. Guterres pointed to “a persistent epidemic of gender-based violence,” a gender pay gap of at least 20%, and the underrepresentation of women in politics. He cited September’s annual gathering of world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly, where just 12% of the speakers were women. “And the global crises we face are hitting women and girls hardest — from poverty and hunger to climate disasters, war and terror,” the secretary-general said. In the past year, Guterres said, there have been testimonies of rape and trafficking in Sudan, and in Gaza women women and children account for a majority of the more than 30,000 Palestinians reported killed in the Israeli-Hamas conflict, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. He cited a report Monday by the U.N. envoy focusing on sexual violence in conflict that concluded there are “reasonable grounds” to believe Hamas committed rape, “sexualized torture” and other cruel and inhumane treatment of women during its surprise attack in southern Israel on Oct. 7. He also pointed to reports of sexual violence against Palestinians detained by Israel. International Women’s Day grew out of labor movements in North America and across Europe at the turn of the 20th century and was officially recognized by the United Nations in 1977. This year’s theme is investing in women and girls to accelerate progress toward equality. Roza Otunbayeva, the head of the U.N. political mission in Afghanistan, told the Security Council on Wednesday that what is happening in that country “is precisely the opposite” of investing in women and girls. There is “a deliberate disinvestment that is both harsh and unsustainable,” she said, saying the Taliban’s crackdown on women and girls has caused “immense harm to mental and physical health, and livelihoods.” Recent detentions of women and girls for alleged violations of the Islamic dress code “were a further violation of human rights, and carry enormous stigma for women and girls,” she said. It has had “a chilling effect among the wider female population, many of whom are now afraid to move in public,” she said. Otunbayeva again called on the Taliban to reverse the restrictions, warning that the longer they remain, “the more damage will be done.” Sima Bahous, the head of UN Women, the agency promoting gender equality and women’s rights, told the commemoration that International Women’s Day “sees a world hobbled by confrontation, fragmentation, fear and most of all inequality.” “Poverty has a female face,” she said. “One in every 10 women in the world lives in extreme poverty.” Men not only dominate the halls of power but they “own $105 trillion more wealth than women,” she said. Bahous said well-resourced and powerful opponents of gender equality are pushing back against progress. The opposition is being fueled by anti-gender movements, foes of democracy, restricted civic space and “a breakdown of trust between people and state, and regressive policies and legislation,” she said. Smoke from Canada
Please stay inside if you are sensitive to smoke
check your area for air quality:
PLEASE REBLOG AND SHARE MORE TIPS
I’m actively updating as of Wednesday Jun 7, 2023. Please check your local news stations and weather apps for information on your area.
Outside
If you have to go outside please wear a mask, have lots of sunscreen and drink water when available/needed. Stay in shade when walking. Wear light colors outside, avoid dark colors. Cloth Masks are cool but paint/filter masks are your best friend. If you have a inhaler just bring it with you everywhere! Inside
When inside don’t open windows and keep curtain closed to expel heat. Sandwiches and fruit are your friend. Cooking is far too hot. If you are about to run out of water fill tub with cold water and pray you have a good drain. Basements are your friend. DRINK WATER NOT SODA OR SPORTS DRINKS! Don’t use drier, use a clothes line if possible
Extra
if you are looking for shelter, Public libraries, coffee shops, grocery stores, anywhere thats air conditioned. Take anything you need but be SAFE
Did I mention water? Gatorade is fun but don’t drink caffeine.
If there’s no smoke in your area and you just need to cool down, open your window at night/early morning
|| Take it easy. No, easier than that. Aside from the mental toll the smoke and horrible weird light and the creepy red sun and the burning smell take on you, your body is just working way harder to do everything it normally does. You will be exhausted, you will be distracted, you will have headaches and you will struggle with basic tasks like "walking up stairs." Do not try to power through it. Cancel plans, reschedule appointments, do fewer errands or consolidate them into one trip.
Treat yourself like you have a cold. Plenty of fluids, stopping when you're tired, cough drops and eye drops for the painful throat and eyes, inhalers if you have one.
Spend as little time outside as you possibly can. This includes your pets. Do not open your windows, do not open your screen door, do not run your AC (this is where some of the above advice for hot weather will come in handy.)
If you have to go outside, wear an N95 or KN95 mask. Make sure it's well-fitted around your face. You're not trying to keep out the smoke, but the PM2.5 (particulate matter 2.5 microns or smaller.) That's the stuff that causes cancer. If you have a fan with a HEPA filter, blast it all the time. If you don't have one go look at diy air filter link below, ask a mutual aid center if you cannot come into contact with these materials. || These tips are from them, a few links below are from them too so go give them some love. https://www.tumblr.com/salteywater

Young and Rich, Tall and Just Ask Me Out Already

wc: 2.1k pronouns: n/a; none used warnings: none really? maybe the tiniest bit of angst... fluff... and i used the word d*ck once, my bad also you can pretend they're in college or high school, doesn't really matter summary: prepschool!ricky/richboy!ricky just can't get scholarshipkid!reader to go out with him no matter how many helicopters he lands in the school courtyard ~masterlist~ ♡ ~kofi (no pressure at all)~ guys... whoah... rich-boy-with-a-soft-side ricky just kind of hits different? i must say i outdid myself with this one so please, please, please enjoy :)
Ricky has been trying to convince you to go on a date with him for two weeks now.
The first time he asked you was after Chemistry one afternoon. You had been assigned as lab partners at the beginning of the semester and shared a desk during class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:10 to 2:40 P.M.
At first, you'd found it kind of difficult to relate to Ricky. His dad was a CEO at some big tech company and he didn't really let anyone forget it. Always flaunting his designer watch with the newest phone model in hand, entire classes full of students couldn't help but fall for him as he draped his Louis Vuitton jacket casually over one shoulder.
But you were just "the scholarship kid". A humble upbringing and a borderline genius IQ, attending this prep academy was an opportunity you and your family could never have turned down.
Working on labs with Ricky wasn't difficult-- mainly because he let you do all the work while he listened to music and played on his phone. But if you were being honest, you didn't really mind. You enjoyed working on the labs at your own (fast) pace and you didn't have to worry about a lab partner messing up your data.
You never disliked Ricky. But you also could never really figure out what to say to him when he talked so expensive and acted so expensive...
And looked so expensive.
But after a few weeks of silent lab work together (and a handful of flunked quizzes returned to Ricky's desk), the tall blonde suddenly turned to you with his latest graded test in hand.
"What did you get?" He asked, eyes peering over to try to get a glimpse at your paper.
"Oh, um..." You placed it flat on the table.
His eyes widened in surprise. "105? Again!?"
"What do you mean 'again'? How do you know that?" You questioned, looking back at him suspiciously.
He completely ignored your question. "There wasn't even a bonus question on this one! Where did the extra points come from?"
"The mini-essay I submitted last night on chemical kinetics."
He stared at you for a moment. "You're kind of weird, you know that?"
You nodded. "I guess you would think that."
"What's that supposed to mean?" He questioned, dark eyebrows furrowing.
"Do you want me to help you or not? I would think calling me weird wouldn't really help persuade me," you quipped, snatching his test from his hand and reading the grade circled in red pen: 63.
"Hey! Don't--," he protested, trying to steal the paper back to no avail as you slid it into your bag and zipped it closed. "I didn't even ask you for help yet."
"You were obviously going to. You've barely said one word to me in four weeks, so. I'm pretty sure you weren't just making friendly conversation."
Ricky blinked back at you silently for a moment. "It's not like you've said anything to me either."
"I'll look over your test to see what you need to improve on. Do you have the rest of the quizzes from this month with you?" You asked quickly, standing up from your seat and slinging your bag over your shoulder as the bell rang.
"Uh, no I don't," he admitted, not making any move to get up now that class had ended.
"Okay, well--."
"But I'll bring them tonight. To the library," he interrupted.
You stood there silently, not really sure what to say.
"Be there at 9," he said definitively, a grin suddenly spreading across his face as he stood up, grabbed his bag, and started walking towards the door.
"You--... Do you think I don't have a life or something? I... What if I had plans!?"
"You did not have plans," he said with a laugh. Just before he walked out the door, he turned over his shoulder to add, "But now you do. With me."
~
It was like that, how you started tutoring Ricky late nights at the library. You met after 9 P.M. the days that you had class together, going over the material you'd covered that afternoon. He was a surprisingly passable student and you started to wonder if failing his classes was somehow intentional. He started offering to help you with lab work as the weeks went on, messing up detrimentally only a handful of times but you did appreciate his effort if nothing else.
Your tutoring was definitely helping; Ricky's quizzes came back now with passing grades that had even once reached the height of a 91. But what you didn't want Ricky to know was that he was helping you, too.
He had been right that day: you hadn't had any plans that night. And you rarely did. It was hard to fit in with the other students at your school when they had all led such different lives than you. You could have never guessed in a million years that Ricky would eventually become something like your friend.
Ricky made you laugh. He sharpened your pencils for you. He brought you snacks you liked. He'd let you borrow his Nintendo Switch for the day, as long as you promised to give it back to him in class. You hated to admit it, but a few weeks into your tutoring sessions and there was much less studying going on than was originally intended.
And another thing you hated (not really) to admit: you liked Ricky.
Sure, he could be a little overconfident. A little braggadocios. A little too reliant on his daddy's money.
But late at night in the library, you both grew tired together and the sleep deprivation gave way to a much more vulnerable Ricky. He'd tell you about his family, his childhood, his favorite things, his troubles, his dreams... and he'd listen carefully to you when you shared yours, too.
One time, after sharing a surprisingly upsetting childhood memory involving his father, you could see Ricky's eyes start to water. He tried to brush it off, adjusting his watch as the walls of the persona began to build back up in defense. But before you could stop yourself, your hand had reached across the table and landed on top of his.
He stared at it for awhile before looking up to meet your eyes. "Thanks," he said quietly, swallowing with uncertainty.
You removed your hand and placed it back in your lap. "Sorry," you replied awkwardly.
"No, no, you're cute," he said quickly, a hand flying to cover his mouth when he saw the expression on your face and realized what he had said. "I--I--... I meant 'cool'. Like... Like I meant to say 'you're cool', as in, like, 'don't worry about it'."
His babbling just made you smile. "Freudian slip?"
"Exactly," he agreed hastily. "Wait, no!"
"Too late, no take backs," you blurt, flipping your textbook to the next page to continue with your notes. Your heart absolutely raced inside your chest when you heard Ricky lightly breathe out a laugh before following your lead and resuming his note-taking.
~
Ricky certainly had a public image he wanted to portray, but whenever he gave you a glimpse underneath the facade... that was when you couldn't help but fall.
So when he asked you out for the first time, sun shining as you walked together from Chemistry to the student lounge on a Friday afternoon, your stomach absolutely flipped with excitement.
"I'm gonna take you to dinner," Ricky said, hand combing through his blonde, coiffed hair.
"Like--... Like on a date?" You clarified, looking up at him to try to read his expression. But much to your dismay, he was looking straight ahead, not at you.
"Yeah," he responded flippantly, hands finding his pockets. "There's this new place that opened downtown that's, like, mega exclusive. Figured you can't say no to that."
"No."
"Exactly... Wait, what?" Ricky stopped in his tracks, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"No thanks," you repeated. Looking at him now, you could tell exactly who was standing in front of you. No matter how much you liked Ricky, you didn't want to go on a date with this persona of his.
You wanted to go on a date with Ricky.
"Oh..." He replied, shock written all over his face. He swallowed hard and you swore you could see his cheeks start to redden with embarrassment.
"I really like you, Ricky," you clarified with a smile as you watched his eyebrows shoot up at the confession. "But no thank you."
You didn't wait around to field any possible questions. Turning on your heels, you headed off in the direction of your dorm leaving Ricky absolutely dumbfounded in the campus courtyard.
The next time he asked you out, it was in the hallway before class the following Monday. He handed you a small, light blue gift box, his eyes looking everywhere except at you.
You suppressed a smile, opening the box to find a dainty, rose gold bangle with the signature Tiffany T-shaped cuff ends. After having a mini heart attack over how much the bracelet in your hands must've cost, you took a deep breath to maintain your composure.
"I can't accept this," you managed, though you had to admit you were a bit sad to refuse it (and to refuse him a second time).
Ricky stared back at you, absolutely astonished. "Why... Why not?"
"I really like you, Ricky," you confessed again. "But I'll have to say no thank you."
As your professor called for everyone to take their seats, you hurried inside the classroom and left Ricky to trail in behind you completely stunned once more.
~
Ricky has asked you out about eight more times since that day. Each time, the simple question is skirted around and instead replaced with more and more elaborate and expensive gestures.
Now, it's 9:30 on a Friday night and you're typing away on your laptop, working on a paper that isn't due until the end of the semester when Ricky bursts through the doors of the library and darts straight towards your usual table.
"Are you seeing someone else?" He blurts out, catching his breath as he stands in front of you waiting for an answer. His hair falls boyishly across his forehead and he's dressed in a a hoodie and black joggers. You get the impression he had rushed here suddenly without any preparation and he looks so stupid cute.
"No," you reply, chewing on your cheeks to keep from smiling.
"Are you interested in men?"
"Unfortunately."
"You keep saying you like me and then you refuse to go out with me. Do you like me?" He asks, a little too loud for a library, but you're both lucky there's no one else that would be studying on a Friday night.
"I do," you confirm, watching as his eyes grow a bit more pleading as he wrestles with his own confusion.
"Then... Please... Will you please go out with me? I like spending time with you so much. I like talking to you so much. I really, really like you, (Y/N). Will you please just give me a chance?"
"Of course," you answer immediately.
"Yeah, I get it, I get--." Ricky's eyes suddenly light up as he realizes what you said. "REALLY?"
You nod, biting your lip in a satisfied smile and throwing your laptop into your backpack. "Let's go right now!"
He blinks quickly, following you as you stand up and walk towards the door. "Right now? But you--."
"Ricky, I don't really have any time to waste. I've been waiting for you to ask me out for two weeks now! Can you blame me for being a bit eager?"
"What... what do you mean? I've asked you out, like, a dozen times," he says as you step outside into the cool evening air, grabbing your wrist to stop you in your tracks.
You smile up at him. "No, you haven't."
"Yes, I--," he starts to protest, but you cut him off.
"You've told me you're taking me to an exclusive restaurant. You've bought me designer jewelry. You've given me an autographed poster from WayV. You've hired the Vienna Philharmonic to play at the student lounge. You've landed a helicopter in the middle of the courtyard..."
You watch as realization begins to wash over his face. His mouth hangs open a bit as he processes his numerous missteps. Then, a hand finds its way to the back of his neck as he smiles at you sheepishly. "Oh."
"So I've been waiting very patiently, you see."
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting," he says with a smile, and then more solemnly he adds, "And I'm really sorry for being a total dick."
"Well, you're in luck. The only way to make it up to me is to get late night pancakes with me. And it just so happens, that I am incredibly hungry right now," you say, taking his hand and starting to pull him in the direction of the parking lot.
Ricky laces your fingers together as he falls in step with you. "Oh! I know the best place for pancakes, it's--."
You clear your throat and he stops his thought in its tracks.
"The diner?" He asks, looking to you for approval.
You nod, giggling back at him. "The diner."

warning: student teacher relationships, smut, bad smut writing(srry) part two with actual smut bc there trying to stop me:[, oral, google translate
It was Friday and your grades had just came out, you re loaded the website and they popped up 100, 105, 99.8, 110, 89, 65 your heart dropped you and your father had one deal hed pay for everything to do with college as long as you pass you classes. You weren’t even bad at math but you had a new professor and it was really hard to concentrate when he’d walk around with his three buttons off and deep blue suit. he had a way of talking like he knew that your thighs were clenched and dripping you were deep in your thought about how professor verstappen would teach you how to do anything and every thing when you heard ringing you looked down at your phone and saw your dads name “h-hey dad” you stuttered trying to shake the thoughts out of your head you’re dad spoke “you grades, i saw them. You need to fix that grade by the end of this week or get a job” “but dad it’s Wednesday!” you knew he wouldn’t care but still tried to protest “get it done.” and he hung up. It was 6pm you were hoping that professor verstappen would still be in his class, you threw the on a coat over your night gown, put on some shoes and practically ran down stairs. His class was only about a three minute walk, you barged into his class with out a second thought but when he looked up you suddenly felt small, remembering that you were only wearing a night gown that was incredibly short, his voice brought you out of your head “what are you doing in here” you walked to the front of his desk “i need my grades fixed” silence “if i don’t get my grades up my dads gonna take my money and then i’m gonna be homeless with no degree please sir” he chuckled “do you know how many people have to work for their place here? I’m done grading now, should have come earlier” you stared in silence for about ten seconds thinking of what to do, you knew that you were pretty and had a good body and sometimes used it to get what you want but never with school, yea sometimes for a free drink at a bar, or a new hand bag, sometimes even new shoes but never for school. This could go three ways 1. give great sex and he fixes your grade 2. give great sex and nothing happens 3. he says no you get kicked out. Fuck it it’s college. you walked around his desk and took off your coat letting it drop to the floor you were only about a step away from being in between his legs “I really need that A” you whispered as you went down onto your knees and looked up at him and began to trace his clothed cock and brought your hand all the way up to his chest, he grabbed your hair turning it into a make shift pony tail. you took his belt off and took him out of his pants he was big but you could take him, you grazed his tip with your thumb then licked him from base then swirled your tongue around his tip, you could feel every vein he had as you took him in you mouth he threw his back and started to whimper as his tip hit the back your throat. You sucked and twisted until you felt him twitch in your mouth, he was a groaning mess you felt his cum reach the back of your throat. You pulled off him “do i get my A” he let out a soft breath “yes schat” you got and bent down trying to grab your coat when you felt hands wrap around your waist and pull you onto his lap he pulled your hair to one side and whispered in your ear “you didn’t really think i would give the A that easy did you love”

A Black couple have sued the city of Beverly Hills, alleging their arrest was part of a campaign by its police to arrest Black people for trivial reasons and at disproportionate rates.
The couple’s lawyers, Bradley Gage and Benjamin Crump, said the Beverly Hills police last year set up a task force — dubbed Operation Safe Streets and the Rodeo Drive Task Force — that arrested 106 people, 105 of whom were Black and one of whom was Latino. Gage said the sources of the arrest figures were unidentified retired Beverly Hills police officers who were appalled by the task force’s actions and so shared with him the alleged racial breakdown of who had been arrested.
The impetus for the task force, Gage said, was both the protests over the death of George Floyd and what Beverly Hills police believed were transactions at retail stores using suspected proceeds of unemployment benefit fraud. Gage described the Police Department’s approach to rooting out suspected fraud as, “Gee, that’s suspicious — Black people shopping in Beverly Hills.”
Gage and Crump, who has represented the families of Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others killed by police, raised their allegations Wednesday on the steps of Beverly Hills City Hall. “There is something terribly wrong here,” Gage said, citing what he called the city’s legacy of biased policing.
Gage and Crump are seeking class-action status for their lawsuit, which was filed Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The only named plaintiffs are the couple, who were arrested on suspicion of riding scooters on a sidewalk and resisting arrest; it does not appear that Gage or Crump has identified the 104 other people who they contend were arrested.
In a statement, Police Chief Dominick Rivetti said his department created a “Rodeo Drive Team” in response to complaints by businesses and a rise in burglaries, shoplifting, “street gambling, public intoxication, marijuana smoking and more.” The team seized 13 firearms carried by people on Rodeo Drive, said Rivetti, who called this “unprecedented in the history of Beverly Hills.”
Rivetti said the Rodeo Drive unit rooted out fraudulently obtained state unemployment benefits, seizing $250,000 in cash and ill-gotten debit cards. Most of the people arrested by the unit were not California residents, Rivetti said, but they nonetheless possessed debit cards loaded with state funds.
The Times asked the Beverly Hills police for a total number and breakdown by race of the people arrested by the Rodeo Drive unit. Capt. Max Subin, a department spokesman, said officials were gathering the figures Wednesday and would provide them once they had finished.
Gage and Crump on Wednesday highlighted the experience of the Black couple, Khalil White and Jasmine Williams of Philadelphia, who said they were visiting Beverly Hills on vacation in September when they were stopped, arrested and eventually jailed by police.
As five officers handcuffed White, Williams said, she asked an officer for her purse to retrieve their hotel key. Two officers pushed her to a police car, handcuffed her and took her to jail, she said.
“I was scared,” Williams said. “I’ve never been to jail in my life.”
White, who said he was jailed overnight and forced to post a $25,000 bond, was charged in Los Angeles County Superior Court with resisting arrest and falsely identifying himself to police. Williams was charged with falsely identifying herself to police. The charges were dismissed in February, records show.
Crump and Gage alleged that White and Williams’ arrests were part of a campaign to target Black people in the city through its recently formed task force.
The Beverly Hills police “had made up their mind that this Black man was going to jail because this is Operation Safe Streets,” Crump said.
In his statement, Rivetti said police had warned White and Williams earlier the day of their arrest that it was illegal to ride a scooter on the sidewalk, without taking action against the couple. In their second encounter with police, White and Williams provided officers with false information, Rivetti said.
“Our department’s practice is to contact and question individuals when we believe they may be involved in criminal activity or another violation of the law,” he said.
Beverly Hills officials faced criticism last summer for insisting on charging protesters with misdemeanor curfew violations; by comparison, prosecutors for the city and county of Los Angeles declined to charge similarly minor violations of curfews and dispersal orders.
In a summary of the Beverly Hills protests, a police sergeant wrote that for residents who survived the Holocaust and Iranian revolution, the demonstrations over Floyd’s death were “not merely an intrusion of their peace” but “a terrifying reminder of their past.”
The department’s previous chief, Sandra Spagnoli, retired in 2020, beset by allegations that she made racist comments and had sex with subordinates who were later promoted. Spagnoli denied the claims, which she said were raised by disgruntled employees, but the city paid out millions of dollars to settle many of the lawsuits. Gage, who represented several officers who sued Spagnoli, estimated at the time that the city paid about $8 million in settlements, attorney fees and other costs.

Ask 4/4 (really love being able to ask again)
More Vampdrew please? I'm dying to read another blood scene, whether its between Andrew and Kevin or Andrew and Neil
WIP Wednesday (4/3) | Vampire Andrew AU (Part 105)
On Saturday, Kevin putters around the dorm until everyone's done with breakfast. Except Andrew, who's shut himself in the bathroom to wait. He'd been muttering something to himself and Kevin didn't dare ask what.
But after they're all done, Andrew sends the others away and Kevin goes to get comfortable on the couch like usual. As he rolls his sleeve up to his elbow, he hears the door click shut and then Andrew is turning around to look at him with those piercing eyes of his. It’s enough to make Kevin forget how to breathe.
Because there’s something the movies all get wrong. Vampires don’t have red eyes, not all of them at least. Andrew’s are normally hazel, just like Aaron’s. But now, when he’s about to eat, they glow a breathtaking shade of amber.
“Breathtaking, huh?” Andrew asks, raising a brow. Kevin curses himself inwardly and Andrew hears that too, by the tiny twitch of his lips. Kevin feels his heart trip over itself.
He can’t control that any more than he can control the hair of his arms standing up when Andrew starts towards the couch. Despite having done this several times, Kevin still has an instinct to run when Andrew looks at him like this. But he doesn’t move, doesn’t breathe, until Andrew has sat down beside him.
“Do you think you’re a prey animal?” Andrew asks, obviously amused. But his thigh is pressed against Kevin’s and that’s about the only thing he can think about.
“I must be,” Kevin says, breathless, “since you’re about to eat me.”

For the fanfic asks!
Thank you for the asks, Annie!
5: Most popular fic this year:
That's an easy one! Fruit Stand AU is the clear answer! I originally began the fic thanks to a ton of prompts from @mikaharuka in early March, and just recently completed the fic in early September, with the entire work being completed in just over 6 months! It was a huge passion project of mine, so much so that I've created a universe out of it, once again thanks to @mikaharuka's prompts! Fruit Stand AU received way more love than I would have thought, and it currently sits at 37,516 words, 9098 hits, 105 bookmarks, 117 comments, and 326 kudos (does this count as bragging, cuz it kinda feels that way to me)!
12: Favorite character to write about this year:
Has to be Enid Sinclair. I just had such a full spectrum of emotions and fic ideas with her, and she's an absolute delight to write dialogue for!
14: A fic you didn't expect to write:
Literally any fic that one of my friends/mutuals gave me brainworms for. So many fics have developed purely from joking around with a lot of you, which is always nice to do, but the fic ideas are a nice added bonus.

A win is a win, no matter how ugly it is.
[Caption: gifset comparing scenes in The Vampire Diaries and Netflix’s Wednesday. On the left, Bonnie tells Caroline in the pilot, somewhat condescending and comforting: “It’s not a competition, Caroline.” Caroline, still a bit tipsy, with her chin resting in her hands, suddenly looks up at her and replies, convinced, “Yeah, it is.” On the right, a saddened Morticia says “It’s not a competition, Wednesday.” Wednesday then looks down and replies “Everything is a competition, Mother.”]

3rd April >> Mass Readings (USA)
Easter Wednesday
(Liturgical Colour: White. Year: B(II))
First Reading
Acts of the Apostles 3:1–10
What I do have I give you: in the name of the Lord Jesus, rise and walk.
Peter and John were going up to the temple area for the three o’clock hour of prayer. And a man crippled from birth was carried and placed at the gate of the temple called “the Beautiful Gate” every day to beg for alms from the people who entered the temple. When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms. But Peter looked intently at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” He paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them. Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong. He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the one who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with amazement and astonishment at what had happened to him.

Gospel
Luke 24:13–35
They recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.
That very day, the first day of the week, two of Jesus’ disciples were going to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus, and they were conversing about all the things that had occurred. And it happened that while they were conversing and debating, Jesus himself drew near and walked with them, but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him. He asked them, “What are you discussing as you walk along?” They stopped, looking downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, said to him in reply, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know of the things that have taken place there in these days?” And he replied to them, “What sort of things?” They said to him, “The things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, how our chief priests and rulers both handed him over to a sentence of death and crucified him. But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel; and besides all this, it is now the third day since this took place. Some women from our group, however, have astounded us: they were at the tomb early in the morning and did not find his Body; they came back and reported that they had indeed seen a vision of angels who announced that he was alive. Then some of those with us went to the tomb and found things just as the women had described, but him they did not see.” And he said to them, “Oh, how foolish you are! How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them what referred to him in all the Scriptures. As they approached the village to which they were going, he gave the impression that he was going on farther. But they urged him, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them. And it happened that, while he was with them at table, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them. With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him, but he vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?” So they set out at once and returned to Jerusalem where they found gathered together the Eleven and those with them who were saying, “The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!” Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

The saddest day in my life
July 17th
On this day, 105 years ago, Wednesday July 17th 1918, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia (50), his wife Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna (46) and their children, Grand Duchesses Olga (22), Tatiana (21), Maria (19), Anastasia (17), Tsarevich Alexei (13), their four loyal friends, Alexei Trupp (62), Ivan Kharitonov (46), Anna Demidova (40), Evgenie Botkin (53) and beloved pets Ortipo (4) and Jimmy (3) were brutally murdered in shooting by Bolsheviks in Ipatiev House, Ekaterinburg.
Orthodox chuch has canonised them as Saints after the fall of communism.
We can only believe that they are praying for us. 😭💔

Workbench Wednesday!
Still plugging away on this F-105. I ran out of paint though, so it's been sitting idle for a few. I really want to get it finished before the new year.
In the meantime, I've got my moms little Christmas house to work on, which needs to be done in less than 3 weeks.
