Thinking about how Paige stopped drinking, all the politicians and bishops are drinking heavily and joylessly, Webb is busy drinking before he decides to give it all for the lucha, and the episode ends with Carpenter and Hayward quietly and companionably having a beer.

Not sure there is a clear throughline there - other than that everyone is stressed and coping as best they can with the options available to them - but there's something very touching to me in the chiasmus we get here:

Paige --------- Greve and Shrue (and I guess Carson, though is he even actually having his fruity little mojito or just being pathetic and banal alone in his office? Unclear!)

Webb --------- Carpenter and Hayward

The chiasmus is our main characters, who start and end the ep, and we get a nice little parallel where the leaders (Paige and Webb) set down their vices in an attempt to reconnect to their people, to real success. Meanwhile for the duos, sharing of alcohol is an expression of a sort of foxhole camaraderie. Both conversations are pretty dark in content and tone (Greve is selling out Faulkner's people as grist to Shrue's war machine, and Hayward is politely but firmly admonishing Carpenter for her distressing lack of concern for her own life) but neither Greve nor Shrue is actually enjoying each other's company very much, whereas Carpenter and Hayward seem to have genuine affinity towards each other in this little moment.

#i will say. the one part of the ep that didn't quite work for me was webb's heroic turn.#like. i love a good heroic turn. but we never really addressed that he was apparently seriously considering sacrificing moss. and. um.#the silt verses #tsv spoilers

As connected to the GREAT WEB as she had become, seeing every tangled line and every strand as it joined its brethren, Cassandra never lost sight of how OVERWHELMING such a gift would be to anyone . Memories of her EARLIEST visions never strayed too far from her thoughts . A reminder of how MUCH such knowledge could be to anyone unaware of just how CONNECTED they were to an even greater current .

With how many SPIDERS there were in the Great Web, meeting a new one still managed to hold a touch of EXCITEMENT .

*spoilers for quite a bit of the movie, obviously*

Oh, look what dropped this morning. The trailer for Madame Web.

I still have a few misgivings about Dakota Johnson playing Cassandra Webb, but the trailer seems decent enough. I'm more excited, however, about the other Spiders.

From top to bottom, we have Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter, Celeste O’Connor as Mattie Franklin, and Isabela Merced as motherflippin' Anya Corazon.

Merced's role has been previously unknown, but was confirmed via news sources as the trailer went up. We only get a flash of the costume, and since Carpenter's and Corazon's costumes were very similar in the comics...

It looks like they'll be going with Anya's original goggles look (or at least partly). They could still keep the same costume, which brings up my next point.

Currently in the comics, Cassandra Webb is not Madame Web. That title belongs to Julia Carpenter. Webb died in one of the Prowler mini-seres, and Carpenter took her place as the new Madame Web. So is that going to happen here? Is Ezekiel Sims (played by Tahar Rahim from the excellent series The Serpent) going to kill her? Is she going to foresee her own death by his hands?

All good questions. Guess we'll have to see in February.

Madame Webb is one of the greatest movies ever made. Everything about it is truly a masterpiece. Please stop what you’re doing and go watch this right now…April fools. This is a terrible film that is actually so bad it’s laughable. Let’s start with the positives in here. Like I said, if you want something to laugh at because of how cheesy it is, this is the movie for you. Also the actresses and actors do their best with what’s given. Which is not a lot. In this film Ezekiel Simms is on a hunt to eliminate the 4 girls (without) resembling super-humans. Although they have no powers the whole film, he has a vision into the future and decides the only way to save his own life is to eradicate these 4 girls. It does not make sense. My favorite part of the movie is this scene that also doesn’t make sense where madame Webb played by Dakota Johnson runs the villain over about 3 to 4 times, each to a snippet of Brittney Spears early 2000’s hit, “Toxic.” It’s my favorite part because it is so stupid and cheesy it’s worth laughing at. From that point on, my brain decided to turn off and treat this film as a comedy. In a cynical sense, the film became more enjoyable as it transitioned to a comedy. Also the film is far better than Morbius because it’s a lot easier to laugh at. Morbius was just boring. This is boring but so bad it’s funny. The characters don’t make sense, the writing is awful, the villain is a sorry excuse and it’s just a downright awful film. However it would make a great “bad movie night” watch. Madame Webb gets a 3 out of 10!

- Terrible story.

- Filled with plot holes.

- Mediocre at best ending.

- Lousy CGI.

I saw an ad the other day for "all the Spider-Man movies" coming back to theaters, which of course I'm excited for.

But I just now realized, I don't think either of the Spider-Verse movies were advertised! I could be wrong, I may just not be remembering the ad correctly, but I'm pretty sure it was just the Raimi trilogy, both Amazing Spider-Man movies, and the Tom Holland trilogy.

How could they leave out 2 of the best Spider-Man movies EVER?!

NA // sorry for the lack of stories, I'm back and trying to get back into writing -- I mentioned in my last post one of my family members passed away. It's been a hard time for me, so I'm trying to get back into writing.

So I decided to make this short fanfic;

Another flashing report from the daily bugle appeared on the tv screen in the living room.

As you suspect Peter came out in his spandex outfit and mask.

Sitting on your knees, you look into his eyes.

"Can I come?" you asked in a whisper.

Peter turned around and sighed, you could see his shoulders tensing up and his brain going into overdrive.

"It's dangerous Y/N, I can't protect you and keep Connors at bay," Peter said calmly and fixed his mask.

You sighed slightly and crossed your arms with a pout on your lips.

Peter sensed you were feeling upset and left out the window.

You weren't backing down, you decided to open the iPhone tracker and followed Peter to the location of him and dr Connors.

Entering the dark tunnels, your heart began to beat fast and enter more into the dark.

Something grabbed your shoulder, and you began to scream -- Something covered your mouth slowly, and you felt spandex.

You knew you were in trouble when you turned to see annoyed hot spiderman // Peter Parker looking at you.

"Um hey, Peter" you gave a small smile.

Peter folded his arms over his chest and stared at you.

"So how's it hanging," you said with a small smile, trying to hide the fact you disobeyed his orders.

"I asked you to stay home and be safe, what do you do you come here." Peter sighed angrily and walked ahead.

Following Peter, you turned on the flashlight on your phone.

Peter kept his eyes peeled for Dr Connors to show up and worry about you.

He remembers the day your father passed, and the last thing your father made him promise -- He promised to protect you, and keep you safe.

But now you both are in a dark tunnel searching for a crazy man lizard and having no sense of direction.

"I hear something," you say lowly holding Peter's arm tightly.

Peter began to scan the tunnels, keeping you behind him.

"Don't move Y/N" peter whispered and his breath hitched.

Beed eyes of dr Connors crept up behind you and peter, pulling you into his scaley arms with a smirk.

Peter felt helpless as the lizard held you in place.

"Hello Peter, been a long time" dr Connors hissed at him causing peter to move back.

"Let her go, Connors," Peter said slightly annoyed and wanting you back into his arms.

Conners ran his nail down your cheek slowly and made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

"She's pretty parker" Connors smirked making Peter more annoyed.

Shiver down your spine, making you look in terror at Peter.

Dr Connors smirked pushing you into Peter's chest and leaving you both in silence in pitch black.

Peter sighed as the lizard vanished into the tunnels, and he looked at you angrily.

"Go, home Y/N." Peter snapped before crawling around the tunnel.

You felt the tears spawning in your eyes and you turn away to leave the tunnels.

Hearing the laughter of dr Conners echoing everywhere, you began to panic over Peter's safety.

Once again ignoring peter's words, you ventured into the tunnels and see Peter and Connors fighting.

Seeing dr Connors gripping Peter's face and trapping him began to make you panic.

You ran up and hit Dr Connors on the back of the head with a wooden board.

Connors turned around with fury, in his eyes looking at you.

Peter took the time to punch him and web you both out.

Peter swung you both to the empty ally way and ripped off the mask.

Catching your breath you look at peter, whose leaning on the wall and rubbing his face.

"I'm sorry Peter," you say sadly and bit your lip.

He gave you a warm smile and hugged you tightly, confusion on your face as he pulled back.

"I love you Y/N, but please don't do that again," peter said checking your face and seeing if you are okay.

Peter gave a weak smile and kissed you lovingly and passionately

AN so just got back into writing; I hope everyone enjoyed this and I have more on way.

GRISHAVERSE :: Carrie was discovered early-- a small child with powerful healing ability. It turned out to be a blessing, in more ways than one. Her father had recently passed away, and her mother had left at birth; and Carrie doesn’t know what would have happened to her if not for the other Grisha.

They’ve been her family.

A non-combatant, Carrie often spends most of her time at the Little Palace. After all, you don’t need to be a soldier to need healing, and learning to control Grisha powers can be dangerous..

(Post season 1)

Following the supposed ‘death’ of General Kirigan, and the widespread attacks on Grisha by the First Army, Carrie fled Ravka with many of the others. The red kefta that had been a sign of pride and family was folded carefully away, a sign of a former life.

She hadn’t originally intended to wind up in Ketterdam (it wasn’t always the kindest place for Grisha)-- she wasn’t sure where she was going, only that she was searching for somewhere to be of use. But during the long trip from Ravka, Carrie cared for many of the sick and injured, and several of them were on their way home to Kerch.

But as she waited in the long lines at the docks, she could see how many people needed help. Not the rich merchants with their private physicians and indentured Grisha; but the children with chilblains and terrible coughs, the mothers, the abused, and the men who tried to square their shoulders and ignore their injuries.

Her little home clinic in the poorer part of the city is a far cry from the luxury of the Little Palace, and her patients these days pay her in what little they have (and sometimes nothing at all). Most of them suspect she’s Grisha, and a few know for certain, but there’s more to healing than the Small Science.

She’s done her best to stay away from the turf wars and gang fighting in the slums, and most of them haven’t caused her too much trouble-- mostly because they never know when they’re going to need her help.

It’s a very different life to her old one, but home isn’t home anymore.
