Do you have any tips for decluttering a closet? Especially for people who find it hard to let go of stuff and are prone to indecisiveness?

After a season, take inventory of the seasonally appropriate clothes/shoes you didn't wear at all and separate them into two piles (toss and donate, depending on the condition of the items). Remove these items from your wardrobe immediately

Select your go-to pieces for each season, different occasions/types of events + outings (work, school, running errands, lounging, going out during the day/night, working out, etc.) and set them off to the side, neat in your "keep" pile(s0

When considering the remaining pieces that you occasionally reach for, take inventory of each item, and state the honest reason with yourself why you don't reach for it more often

Lean towards tossing/donating the piece if your reasons relate to: the general fit (not easy to tailor into place, fabric, cut, or look of the item)

Consider keeping the item if your reasons relate to: the formality of the item vs. your general lifestyle, not as versatile/easy to style as your go-to pieces, the fabric is too warm/cold for your general climate but has its place of extreme temperatures, rain/snow, vacations, or specific types of activities you do on occasion (like swimming, hiking, painting, or skiing, etc.)
