Over the course of several Pathfinder Modules, all of the Good-aligned Elemental Lords are now free and have returned to their respective planes to begin establishing balance once more. They're reclaiming territory and worshipers from their evil counterparts.

A lot of them are gross

There are too many of them. There are only so many things to do with your free time and those things aren't "fly around and crunch"

They can destroy entire ecosystems and people's lives

They have really complicated behaviors and I don't feel like there's any way to understand them

You can't easily pick them up

Catches of them are pretty common in places where I live, though less so now that I live in Manhattan

Hello there! As we spoke earlier, I will be focusing on the Netjeru, specifically Bast, for your reading. As for the bone, I pulled the River Otter, who has been given permission to speak on her behalf. I do find it interesting to note that while Otters are not native to Egypt, they have been referenced in tombs and statuary!

This Otter does not personally have a vision to share with me, and instead brings a vision from Bast herself. I see near the Nile, stalking it's prey with precision. Every movement, every step is measured. It does not pounce until it is sure of success. This is a hunt rooted in survival, in instinct and learned wisdom.

"Now is the time to clear your mind and focus your intent. Set aside your feelings and do not lead with your heart, but lead with your mind. Be the predator, the lion of Bast, the sword of your Mother. Be swift and decisive with your movements and actions."

Also found a brown recluse in my dorm bathroom a few weeks ago. Fortunately, it seemed to prefer hiding in a specific cabinet, so I just … temporarily declared it the spider’s cabinet. The sign was taken down a week later, and I found no sign of the spider after that. I can only assume maintenance killed it. Hope its death was quick. And at least it got a little private hidey-hole for a few days.

I like to believe someone was nice enough to relocate it outside, which is safe to do if you're not using your bare hands :)

Rathaway X Rachel Roth – Rathaway doesn’t know she’s a titan and she’s scouting him to join the Titans. Rathaway has all the issues.

BB woke up unable to understand what was compelling him to want to be a rat. His entire body grew hair and he slowly grew smaller and smaller until is was a tiny mouse. Then like chasing cheese he walked out in the middle of the night without telling anyone. Come breakfast the fact that he was not first at the table caused great concern for everyone involved. Luckly for him BB was tagged and was easy to find.

Central CITY! – Grayson was concerned – Why did he go to central city in the middle of the night! Raven you wanna take this one? – Asked Damien – the kid follows you around like a lost puppy, so go fetch our pet so….

The look on Raven’s face and the extra set of eyes was all the cue Damien needed to drop the subject. He’s not sure how well he can stack up against Trigon and wasn’t in the mood to find out.

Rachel opened a portal directly to the cosmic location were BB was, he saw him, as a rat surrounded by an army of rats, one tiny green spec in a sea of filthy disgusting rats. He picked bb by the tail and attempted to snap him out of it. When even putting him on her chest did not work, it became obvious that his hypnosis was far more powerful than she could have imagined. She faded into the wall and watched carefully to figure out what was causing this extreme form of hypnosis that was not broken by anything magical or physical.

A few hours later a small stubby mass of complexes and issues walked in. Rachel instantly sensed the inner turmoil in this poor souls’ mind. All the issues! Abandonment issues, fear for his situation, not having a home and being forced to forage in the sewers, fear of extreme betrayal, all emotions she could sense coming from this cloud of frustration and angs.

What’s that you’re saying? – said Rathaway, said while talking to one of his rats – That this room smells like a Depeche Mode concert? Why yes it is very weird, did an army of Goth angsty teenagers waltzed by while I was away?

COME OUT, you can hide your visage but not your smell of cheap eyeliner and Sucreabeille perfume. Let me guess, demon girl, or daughter of Satan, or something devil related. – Rathaway look annoyed.

FINE GEESH – Raven came out of the shadow – one of those rats is mine, and I need it back.

Really? Wish one- asked Rathaway not taken aback by the figure emerging from the wall.

Raven - Takea guess !

Rathaway – Yea not a lot of green demon rats are there. Rathaway was almost amused but playing it cool. He was trying to figure out at what moment to send the army of rats at him.

I rolled a 20 on my mind reading abilities, you’re an open book to me, and if you don’t wanna see a million rats go up in flame I suggest you keep your filthy pets to yourself – Said Raven

Oh a Geek a devil girl, I suppose rolling seduction is out of the question. – Said Rathaway.

Not if you want me to kick your dices! – Raven was kinda annoyed at this point.

FINE your intimidation roll worked, here is your freeky green rat. – said rathaway releasing his spell.

How do I know he’s not gonna be hypnotized again – asked Raven annoyed.

You don’t! I may want to see you again and then all I’ve got to do is play this fl…. – he was interrupted when raven took over the flute with her magic and prepared to destroy it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO – he lunged at the flute crying in a panic. It was pathetic. He fled to a dark corner of the room,crying and trying to claw at the wall to find a place to hide it.

That flute, its precious to you isn’t it – you don’t really need it to fight me but you cling to it. Said raven

Would you stop reading my FUCKING MIND ALREADY! – at one point you have to realize it feels like being naked in front of a million people.

You took my precious pet, this creature is my price possession, and I refuse to go easy on you until I know without a shadow of a dought that it belongs to me and me alone. I play with it,and tease it as I see fit. I wont let some snut punk wanna be villain with issues take him from me. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Rathaway trembling made an alteration to the Anti life equation that made it so it could not be used specifically on BB.

Alright since you kept your end of the bargain I’ll stop probing your mind. – Said raven – I don’t normally do that. But you took my precious pet so I was not gonna play fair. I was ready to send you to hell if needed.

Bhhhhh the devil girl is gonna send me to hell, spooky, could you be any more of a cliché – rathaway was annoyed. Do you know what you put me thru just now! If you had me by the balls I would not have been more horrified. That flute…

It’s a toten of trauma, interrupted Raven, you need to let it go, forgot it and begin to heal. It will be difficult but if you come with me, with the titans, you can slowly come to live a normal life, with friends that wont abandon you.

Yea Sure, you’re sooo normal demon girl – rathaway was more relaxed now that he sensed no hostility from Rachel.

I'm trying to be normal, but trauma is immortal. And ever-present. Sometimes you can be safely at a home and see something on tv and suddenly it comes back like a monster, a predator. And you try to act normal so nobody sees your suffering, but the sweat and the palpitations, and your inability to stand up, the betray you, so you say you’re going to take a bath so nobody sees you tremble.

And sometimes you can be under a bridge feeling like the world is collapsing over you, and you feel thankful because its not the worst that’s ever happened to you. You think, compared to where I’ve been, being homeless doesn’t feel so bad, and then you realize that….

Raven hugged Rathaway, and then he was quiet, she kept repeating over and over – “none of this was your fault, none of this was your fault.”

I missed being hugged so much – Rathaway was smiling, - Ok lets get going.

Dude I had the weirdt dream - the rat changed form into a human, rathaway look puzzled

IT WAS A DREAM! - screamed Raven, her pale skin showing a slight hint of blush under all the eye liner and pale face paint. – IT WAS A DREAM AND DONT FUCKING GET ANY IDEAS

BB turning into a tiny puppy begin whimpering.

So how does the negative energy psychologically affect dhampir? Are they alive enough to still enjoy creativity?

There's more than a few living creatures in Pathfinder that have Negative Energy Affinity (this isn't even getting into the literal living-dead Mortics), and it's likely no coincidence that all of them are predispositioned to being hostile to living creatures. In many cases where creativity and a passion for the arts is cited in a creature's lore block, it's always something morbid, horrifying, or downright gross.

I think dhampir, like the vampires that sired them, are likely to be on the gloomier, moodier side of life. While a vampire can--and often will--fall into depressive loops cycles caused by emotional and spiritual stagnation that require an outside source to break, dhampir are no more likely to fall into such cycles than an average human and can in fact continue to grow, change, and enjoy life without outside help... Even if their passion projects are all tinged with darkness, morbidity, and melancholy.

Hey Bree.

I was wondering if you had any tips on wards, cleansing, etc. for dorm rooms. Smoke cleansing is out for obvious reasons, and I probably don’t have the materials to make a big or complicated ward.

You might be surprised. Technically, the only component you need is yourself. Energy work and visualization come easier to some witches than to others and they do take a bit of practice, but you can always give it a shot.

If you can hold the idea or the image of a web or a bubble or a brick wall in your mind and push that out to encompass your space, you may be able to set some wards with no materials at all! Start by warding yourself first, then practice pushing that boundary outward. You can anchor the ward to the walls and it will stay in place rather than you having to constantly hold it.

Personally, I find webs and brambles and bricks the easiest to visualize - a wall being built one brick at a time, a bramble thicket sprouting to surround my space, a thick spiderweb being spun along the walls, etc.

Here are some simple materials you can use in place of fire and smoke:

Locks - Once you have your protective spells in place, attach them to the lock on your door. When the lock is turned, the protections engage. You can also use this as an additional layer of warding on top of whatever you put in place for general long-term protections. (For example, I have a set of wards that are always in place whether my door is open or closed, but there's an additional set that activates when I leave and lock my door from the outside.)

Sound - Ring a bell, sing, chant, play a favorite song, and attach the intention of removing harmful, stagnant, or negative energy to the sound. Picture the sound waves pushing everything out until all that remains is what you allow.

Light and Air - Open the window, let the sunlight in, air the place out. You'd be surprised how often that heavy, bogged-down feeling is just a stuffy room! Picture the light and fresh air cycling through the space and refreshing everything that is good and healthy.

Artificial Light - If you can't use open flame, you can still use battery-operated LED candles. There are plenty of different kinds to choose from. I like the pillars and tealights especially. They come in plenty of different colors - some even include color-changing programs or flickering effects. They can be the representation of fire for any non-burning spellwork or warding you wish to do. Perfect for dorm-safe ambience. (Just make sure your RA knows they're flameless so you don't get into trouble.)

Salt - A pinch of salt in the corners of the room or sprinkled across your doorway can do wonders. In high-traffic situations, you can also keep a little bowl or jar of salt in the room and charge it to constantly cleanse and protect the space. (If it spills or breaks, it's not a bad omen. Just replace it.) You can also do this with cleansing or protective herbs, but salt is the easiest thing to get your hands on. If you don't mind a trip to the supermarket and a little time spent drying the components, a charm bag or jar containing salt, rosemary, dried lemon peel, basil, and bay leaves is very effective for cleansing and warding. Throw in some thorns or thumbtacks if you want your wards to have bite!

Room Sprays - This one is a little trickier because you'll need to take allergies and roommate comfort into consideration. You can use commercial air freshener or homemade room spray made from water, rubbing alcohol, and essential or scented oils to cleanse and protect your space. I used to use a blend of rosemary, lemon, lavender, and mint that was very effective. A few little spritzes make the room smell nice and keep it cleansed. You can use plug-ins or reed diffusers for the same purpose on a passive basis.

Mundane Cleaning - Cleanse while you clean! I mean, you should be tidying your room up on a regular basis anyway, so why not make it witchy? Any time you tidy up, wash dishes, do the laundry, make the beds, scrub up, dust, vacuum, or sweep the floor, picture unwanted energy or influences being removed with the dirt and grime. (I also recommend this method for personal cleansing in the shower. Very soothing at the end of a long day!)

Keep in mind - cleansing and the refreshing of protective spells does not have to be a daily or even a regularly-scheduled activity. It can be done on an as-needed basis. Once you get settled and get used to your surroundings, you'll know when it needs doing and when things are okay. And if you're ever not sure, a bit of preventative maintenance never hurts.

Also, your roommate doesn't have to be actively involved in the casting of the wards, but you may want to let it be known during the casting that they are welcome in the space and shouldn't be treated as an intruder. This can also go for anyone who visits regularly if you're going to be strict about who is and isn't allowed in your space. It's not that they'll be physically kept out if they're not recognized by the spells, but they might feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. You can put in a clause like, "Anyone I invite across this threshold is welcome in this space" - something that can always be revoked in the future if the need arises.

Hello there!

I had Paras and Weepinbell come forward on the same card. They appear with a rotting box covered in mushrooms- new growth coming from the old. The card itself says "Bad things may be good if they prevent something worse".

Both of these Pokemon mention the fact that negativity and bad days are a part of life. Keep moving forward and be brave. Remember that any set backs are temporary!

Now hang on. This is all assuming that if turbines were sapient, they’d obviously be Christian and thus actually have a cultural concept of sin. That’s … kinda jumping to conclusions, don’t you think? There’s no reason to believe turbines can’t be, like, Jewish or polytheist. (File under: paragraphs I never thought I’d type.)

Strictly speaking, we need only presume that the subset of turbines which are presently in Hell are culturally Christian.
