Arin finally figured out the sense of familiarity towards the man, memories flashed from when he first caught a glimpse of him. to when he'd carefully place a flower in front of his portrait with a heart full of hope that their heroes would some day return.

Arin almost missed what he said in the midst of shock, with his eyes growing wide, and hands trembled as they gripped his arm bruisingly. His eyes narrow and twitch, and a smile curls his lips upwards almost sadistically, baring his fangs as he speaks.

"I WILL FIND YOU.”

This wasn't the hero that he remembered.

Important details for those who want to draw villain Jay:

The corners of his torso have Wolf Clan symbols, the one on the left side is flipped.

He has shortened version of the chest fangs featured on the Wolf General suits.

His belt is similar to Core Cole, but rather than having an extra piece of cloth hanging over, it's a proper knot!

His boot straps are the same as a Wolf Warrior's belt straps.

Kai- Took Chen’s place, killed him for the staff and is slowly collecting the powers of all the elemental masters he can locate.Corrupted by the staff, he rules over Chen’s island. Skylar does her best to keep his mind in tact but her efforts lately seem to be more and more useless against the staff.

Jay- Overthrew Nadakhan’s ship and crew. Had his mind twisted by the abuse he faced from the retired crew members. Probably keeps Nadakhan’s teapot on his hip at all times. Maybe talks to it every once in a while, or throws it against a wall when he’s angry.

Cole- He just wanted to learn more about his mother.

Zane- S11 but it’s in an isolated corner of Ninjago instead of the neverrealm. Maybe a Two Moon village/neverrealm fusion. A man who wandered the world without direction settles in the village. Vague instructions in his mind telling him to protect. He finds the staff early on, it having thought to be disposed of long ago. It seeming to be harmless by non-elementals. He gets a hold of it and keeps it. The village will be protected, whether they want it or not.

Lloyd- It’s his duty to reunite the elemental masters. Somehow.

Nya was long gone, taken with her parents when Kai was abandoned. :>

Writing under the cut

An innocent soul boards your ship. They plead for help. “Ninjago is in danger.”

You can’t help but laugh in their face. Good! You cheer. A little danger ought to lighten up the place, at least. You already hold the greatest danger that ninjago could ever face, you have already done enough. Lightning expertly dances across your fingertips, threatening to shock anyone nearby.

You order your crew to walk this teenager off the plank. You have enough crew members and it’s always a shame when you’re forced to crush an innocent soul and meld it into one of your crewmates.

Before they can be shoved off the plank into the ocean below, there’s a bright green flash. Your eye is blinded, and your body trembles with confused anger. What is this?! You wail, and when your vision clears you see the kid holds a bright green power in the palm of their hands.

A laugh bubbles out of your throat. Of course the kid wants to prove their worth. You unsheath your sword and immediately, your crewmates step away from the kid. You point an electrified sword towards the outsider.

The kid’s fear is evident on their face, features twisted in worry. You watch the kid take a breath before their worried frown flips into a confident smirk. Interesting. Do you know what your lightning means? They ask.

It means you are strong, you respond.

It means you are destined for something better. They say. It means you are one of the few meant to protect ninjago from evil.

Ugh, this shit again. You nod your head towards one of your crew and a sword is lobbed towards the kid. The kid catches. Good. You will test this kid, and see if he is worthy for your crew- or if he’d be better off dead.

...

During the fight, the kid mentions knowing your mother. They call her “Liberty.”

Your mother’s name is Edna and she lives far away from your current life.

The kid seems shocked at this information, and you knock the sword out of their hands. Your sword grazes their neck and you demand to know everything.

Boldly, the kid plasters that confident smirk on their face once more. “Help me, and you’ll learn everything.”

Lightning buzzes under your skin. It reaches towards this kid, yearning to join this damned adventure.

“Clancee. You’re acting captain until I return.”
